I know different interpretations of a work are generally enriching and cool... but c!dream villan interpretations is like how to tell me you only watch Tommy without saying you only watch tommy.... which would be fine but its not a great place to be making statements about the whole nature of the dsmp lol

Wild speculation, but sometimes I wonder if like, because the dsmp didn't really start as a narrative, and a lot of fans don't nessecarily enter it expecting a narrative, but then there is one and the fandom is really discourse heavy and everyone is sort of excpeted to have an opinion while maybe not expecting to form one from the begining or not having a ton of experience with narrative in a way that would "expect" them to have an opinion or not take things at face value??, I don't know if I explained that well at all... and I don't really even think thats right nessecarily... but like wow sometimes some of the takes about power and government and villany...

Honestly, it makes sense!!!

I think something interesting is like.... looking at how animatics have shaped the like tone and culture of the fandom essentially. Like, an interesting fact that I didn't really fully grasp until SUPER recently is like...

c!Wilbur out the gate admits he is manipulating c!Tommy. Like his first youtube video on the Dream SMP he admits his goal is to manipulate c!Tommy and people like c!Tommy into helping him achieve a potion ("drug") empire to monopolize on potions because there were a lot of people on the server who like to min-max, which is to put all of your effort into this one specific skill essentially. so like... i know minecraft doesnt have a skill tree but if it did, it would be putting all your points into that one specific branch of a skill tree. So he wanted to exploit the labor of all the TommyInnits to.... maintain a Potion Empire.

THIS IS A LONG POST BC I GOT CARRIED AWAY SO BUCKLE UP

And I don't think a lot of the fandom who joined later on knows this. I certainly didn't until like a week or so ago? Like... I knew c!Wilbur had been manipulative from the start because I'm a mod of (shameless self promo incoming) @dsmpanalysis and we have a lot of different POVs in that mod team and discord and we talk about it really frequently. I joined the fandom as someone who was really big on L'manburg ESPECIALLY crimeboys, and have turned into.... *gestures vaguely to my blog*

And ngl I owe a lot of it to @1-michibiki-1 in terms of c!Dream "Apologism" but all of the mods there have expanded my thoughts and views on the storylines of this narrative.

My application consisted of like largely essays about like... how I think Dream was the villain but he was meant to be the villain because you don't get any insight into his character WHICH.... IS A FAIR ASSUMPTION AT FIRST GLANCE. People are easily villainized when you cannot get a glimpse into their thought process. It's easy to dwindle someone down into this flat character and starting out I knew Dream didn't stream the SMP on purpose.

And I personally came to the conclusion of "Oh! So Dream is supposed to be the villain." However as the story continued and I learned more about what Dream went through I began to realize that... it's more than likely a form of a red herring. My opinions on this were immediately solidified when I watched Ranboo's 2 MIL stream because both Ranboo AND Dream agree on enjoying red herrings.

There have been MANY times were Dream has said that c!Dream is a complex character and he's not a wholly evil guy and there have been times where the narrative has honestly just proved that.

Anyways, what's important though was that... I learned most of this from other people who were more focused on c!Dream rather than myself. Eventually I shifted from c!Tommy to c!Ranboo and c!Techno after c!Tommy betrayed c!Techno and I began to realize.... everything I learned before hopping in wasn't exactly what it seemed.

Part of this is because I'm older, I heavily identify with c!Techno's sense of loyalty and philosophies on government, but I especially identify with the anguish c!Techno voiced in... a lot of lore but especially the lore around Doomsday.

I'm not 16 anymore. I don't always feel wronged by adults, or older people in my case, whenever they absolutely have done something wrong by me, but I do feel wronged by my close friends. I also felt like c!Tommy's sense of loyalty didn't line up with mine after what felt like him constantly flip-flopping and refusing to understand c!Techno's morals on government didn't line up with his.

In short, it was easier to identify with Tommy in these animatics versus in the actual stream content because c!Tommy is played by a 16 year old. I'm not a teenager and my line of thinking doesn't entirely line up with people that age anymore. It's harder to place myself in the same shoes of someone's OC who is played closer to their actual age, because I'm not that age.

Regardless, I was still on the c!Dream is a villain train. I wasn't ever like... c!Dream is repulsive I hate him, but I was like omg hot villain lad go brrr.

Even when the first like... mellohi, panic room, Ranboo lore stream popped up I thought "Oh! c!Ranboo corruption arc?"

And I was excited because I really wanted this shy, nervous character to turn into villain buddies with his good pal c!Dream. I'm a total sucker for villains and corruption arcs and all that good shit.

SO I STARTED GETTING REALLY INTERESTED IN ENDERSMILE. I'VE BEEN ON ENDERSMILE SQUAD OUT THE GATE. NOT THE SAME WAY I AM NOW, BUT I'VE ALWAYS WANTED THEM TO TEAM UP.

So... upon not really keeping up with c!Dream and being relatively??? indifferent? I don't think I started arguments on c!Dream back then, but I might have. But I remember like... starting to participate more whenever c!Dream came up and looking more into Dream's character BUT ESPECIALLY TALKING WITH OUR SERVER'S C!DREAM SPECIALIST MICHI ABOUT DREAM A LOT MORE.

And because Michi has been a watcher since day one and was a DTeam fan rather than a SBI fan, she was able to provide me with more information on how the server worked pre-Tommy but especially pre-Wilbur.

Now, you could definitely argue well Michi probably has clear bias but it made sense to me when I looked back on how the storyline had been constructed and was going along, and everyone in the server talks a lot about our own biases and how we want people to maybe not lean so hard on them. Michi would also provide like anecdotes on what had happened and I'm sure links were probably provided at one point but the point was I felt like Michi had no reason to lie or manipulate how the story was told and if she did, eventually someone would have pointed it out because... Group of like... right now it's around 20 or more analysts but I don't remember how many at the time there were. POINT BEING, WE'VE ALL GOT POINTS TO PROVE AND IN MY EXPERIENCE NOT MANY OF US HAVE BEEN SHY TO PROVE THEM.

So if anyone ever had any differing opinions they would be talked about and we literally had and still have discussions.

REGARDLESS.... I DIDN'T FACT CHECK IN DEPTH BECAUSE I THOUGHT PEER REVIEW WAS ENOUGH WHEN YOU HAVE LIKE HOURS UPON HOURS OF STREAMS TO WATCH.

Anyways. Eventually I started paying closer attention and looking more into c!Dream lore but only recently have I started to triple check before speaking about c!Wilbur lore because I know everyone has biases and while I did trust everyone's thoughts and analysis in the discord, whenever I make essays I typically like it to be largely air tight and if theres a mistake, I want it to be because I forgot not because I just trusted what was said. Plus, I wanted to get down to the specifics of how Wilbur had always started with manipulation on the mind.

SO I WATCHED HIS FIRST VIDEO ON THE DREAM SMP.

AND WHAT I WAS NOT BY ANY MEANS EXPECTING WAS WILBUR TO SAY WORD FOR WORD, VERBATIM,

"SO WHY DON'T I START AN INDUSTRY WHERE I USE THE TOMMYINNITS OF THE WORLD TO WORK FOR ME, TO CREATE THINGS THAT THE MIN-MAXERS OF THE WORLD WILL WANT."

Like... this is in no way an attempt to like hardcore villainize c!Wilbur like everyone does Dream, it's just more so to like REALLY outline how far off a lot of fandom interpretation of c!Wilbur is....

Because of SBI focused animatics.

Now, when I joined I watched A LOT of animatics that really highlighted like... Wilbur being this self-loathing JD-esque, "I destroyed it because I had to because the world was against me because no one loved us, Tommy" type of character. At least... that's what it came across as.

And it definitely highlighted the fact that Tommy was a victim, which he is. He is undoubtedly a victim and no not even any dream apologist can change my mind otherwise. Tommy, despite being an instigator sometimes, didn't deserve the abuse he received.

But these animatics never shown the fact that c!Wilbur started L'manburg as a shady ploy to exploit people like c!Tommy and vilify c!Dream so he could have power.

And that was easy because Dream and Tommy had wars before. They had spars and pranks and here's the plan to take back my disks and here's the plan to out smart the thieving little child etc etc.

And all of the animatics I watched never mentioned this. Neither did the recaps though. The recaps gave the events flat out, there didn't sound like there was bias, and honestly I don't really know if there was rather than like... a lack of nuance. And it's hard to provide a recap with that much nuance in a short period of time for a youtube video, to be perfectly fair.

However, this creates a perfect formula for entirely rewriting the history of a server. c!Wilbur quite literally fucking succeeded TO A META LEVEL. He slandered and ran smear campaigns against Dream and like he even does that with Sapnap in the beginning. But what's crazy is that it transferred over into the meta! Most of this fandom understands Wilbur as a victim of mental illness, and yeah maybe? He definitely wasn't mentally well by the end of pogtopia, but he never started out with honorable intentions. L'manburg was never a victim, only its citizens. The TommyInnits of the world.

I just think it's like... such an interesting case study. Because this is like... an opinion like shared by at least half of the fandom, but the vilifying of c!Dream is shared by MOST of the fandom I would argue. Which is like even more crazy for me because that was c!Wilbur's goal!!!

LIKE I GO INSANE WHEN I THINK OF THIS BECAUSE HIS REACH IS JUST TOO POWERFUL. HE'S NOT EVEN ENTIRELY REAL, JUST A MANIPULATIVE PERSONA OF SOME BRITISH GUY.

And I mean... maybe people who have watched Wilbur's video on the SMP still maintain this idea that Wilbur wasn't always the bad guy, but honestly... I wouldn't be surprised if their introduction was still an animatic. Like bias is hard to check and I'm not going to lie I could have sworn I watched both Wilbur's AND Tommy's video on the SMP in the beginning and yet I STILL was a ride or die for tragic yet on some level still honorable Wilbur and a resilient Tommy.

Like... upon watching Wilbur's first video... possibly again I was surprised because I thought I did watch it like right before I even started watching the streams and yet I was still so invested in c!Wilbur as this tortured anti-hero.

It took 6 months of... not being in an echo chamber, full of multiple different people of different ages, different stream POVS, and people who joined the fandom at different points in time.

IDK IF THIS WAS EVEN ENTIRELY RELEVANT IT JUST FELT TANGENTIALLY RELEVANT AND THIS WAS SOMETHING I'VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT FOR A HOT MINUTE AFTER LIKE WATCHING WILBUR'S FIRST VIDEO AGAIN.

TLDR;

SBI CENTRIC ANIMATICS HAD A LASTING AFFECT ON THIS FANDOM AS IT'S HARD TO GO BACK AND ACTUALLY CHECK THE NARRATIVE FOR SOLID FACTS FOR YOUR OWN INTERPRETATION BASED ON THE FACT THAT THIS NARRATIVE SPANS OVER HUNDREDS OF HOURS WORTH OF TWITCH STREAMS.

Could you write a headcanon about Autistic!Levi and a MC with ADHD? Like what their relationship was like before and after they started dating <3

Sure! And thank you for being my first ask!!!

-Mc has ADHD. It's not super super bad, but at times it acts up and they're almost bouncing off the walls.

-This kinda makes Levi both intrigued and nervous. Intrigued because, of course, it reminds him of an anime character...however, this hyperactive activity stresses him out in real life.

-So Levi isn't mean to them per say, but is a bit apprehensive and standoffish.

-Until he finds out they have something in common, whether it be anime, music, or video games, he's all for it.

-Finally, someone for him to bond with over stuff he's interested in! His brothers support him, but they don't really like much (if any) of the things he's into, so it can feel kinda lonely.

-Mc is equally as hyped about this. Maybe they wanted to get to know Levi for a while, maybe they simply don't have many friends back home. Either way, both parties immediately begin having heated discussions about what they both like.

-From there, a friendship forms. Levi doesn't expect them to know the passage from TSL to get into his bedroom (if they do, that's even better) so if they don't, he creates their own password as a form of safety measure for himself...it's a comfort thing.

-Regularly have movie nights, jam out sessions, game until the early hours of whenever, the list goes on.

-After a while though, Levi starts feeling uncomfortable again. Not in a bad way nessecarily, he just isn't sure how to deal with this change toward his new friend.

-So he goes to Crow Man and Scorpio Boy

-Mammon takes a moment to internalize everything, and does his best to explain, but his tsundere nature keeps him from doing the best at it, so he tells Levi to talk to Asmo.

-Asmodeus instantly knows what's up and decides to tease his big brother about it a bit, only stopping when he realizes Levi is genuinely uncomfortable. He suggests just talking to MC about it and being honest.

-So, after a few days of keeping it bottled up, Levi ends up calling MC and spitting out what he wants to say before hanging up in fear of rejection.

-Mc is a little confused; they were having an episode, and could barely understand normal speech, nevermind something gushed out to them over the phone. However, being a good friend, they go to Levi's room to check up on him.

-Levi reluctantly let's them in, cowering a bit, fully expecting to be rejected AND lose his newfound companion.

-However he lets out a sigh of relief as MC explains they had no idea what Levi said.

-After Mc's episode calms down and they gently comfort and coax poor Levi (who had nearly had a breakdown after calling MC), Levi finally tells them what he said.

-And to his surprise (but the surprise of nobody else in the household), Mc says yes, they like him back.

-------------

-You thought these two were inseparable before? Yeah, even moreso now.

-I do imagine Levi would be a bit clingy as a BF (he is the avatar of envy after all), but whoever he was with wouldn't mind him being a bit jealous, as long as it didn't go into overkill. Most likely MC thinks this is just another endearing quality.

-Forehead kisses. Lots and lots of forehead kisses for both parties. Also a lot of PDA and affection in private, as long as both of them were comfortable with it at any given moment. If it was too much, the other would stop right away.

-Both rant to each other about things they like that the other doesn't nessecarily like. But it's okay, they take turns, and they love each other enough that it doesn't bother them very much.

-Lucifer is just happy Levi has an incentive to go outside sometimes; the rare public date...because we all know that these two would stay in Levi's room most of the time.

-Overall very functional couple. Levi may still get a bit antsy about the ADHD episodes, but has learned to cope with it, because he really does love MC and wants them to know that he supports who they are, just like they do for him.

A = Affection (How affectionate are they with a s/o?) Hendery is pretty much the guy for a classic friends to lovers trope so I guess the way he shows affection in pblic would be pretty lowkey. Like quick sweet pecks when no-one is paying attention. At home he would be quite cuddly, chilling with you and your pet maybe is his favorite thing.

B = Breath (What could their s/o do to take their breath away?) When he saw you at your friends wedding he was glued to the spot staring at you. Seing you in a proper dress for the first time - it was over for him.

C = Cuddling (Do they cuddle? If they do, how and when do they cuddle?) Huge cuddler. All the time.

D = Dream (What do they dream of doing with their s/o?) I think his main goal with you is staying together being happy, wihtout having to do huge huge sacrifices. He wants you both to be happy with each other and that’s his top priority. As far as his dream goes would probably be to start a family with you if your lifes have room for it. Otherwise he will stay together with you either way - married or not. E = Effort (How much effort do they put into a relationship?) A lot. As I said having a fulfilled relationship is super important to him so he would try to be home early and take time for date nights and everything. He would get the food and make up for the time he can’t be with you because of work.

F = Fear (What do they do if their s/o is scared? How do they handle it?) Maybe he would be a little bit overwhelmed if you for example have a panic attack or soemthing. Because he is the youngest sibling he is not used to take care of others - he was the one other took care of usually. Regardless of that he would try his best, asking you what you need and not be mad at you if you maybe yell at him or something because you’re stressed. Eventually he would hold you tight either way and maybe watch a TV show to distract you or take you for a walk with an arm around your shoulders. G = Gifts (What type of gifts do they give their s/o? Do they want a gift in return?) He would love to get self-made gifts from you. If you crotched a keyring thing for him he would worhsip it and use it for years. The letter you wrote him the year you were away for new years? It’s framed in his studio. Same thing goes for giving presents. Altough the guys maybe talk him into buying you something he would always make sure to give it a personal touch. Maybe Ten helps him decorate sneakers he got for? Or he’d get you the first copy of your favorite books but put a foldeed heart in between the pages as a bookmark.H = Hugs (Do they hug their s/o? How often?) He would hug you when you’re cooking or doing the dishes, give you a little smoosh on the head when he walks past you and you’re sitting somewhere studying.

I = Intimacy (How romantic are they? Do they have problems with intimacy?) I don’t see any problems i this department so let’s not create any if there aren’t any~ J = Jealous (Do they get jealous? How do they act when jealous?) Hendery might a little jealous but not much. You were freinds before you started dating so he knows your male friends and he knows you still chose him over all of them ~~

K = Kiss (Are they a good kisser? Do they like to kiss? How often do they try to kiss you?) Lot’s and lot’s of soft make out sessions. He is not a greedy kisser. This man has a goofy soft personality and it shows!

L = Love (When do they say they love you? How often do they say it? Do they prefer to say or show it?) He strikes me as the kind of guy who leaves it to nonverbal communication. Hendery shows it more than saying it with small gestures like nose boops or he blows in your neck a little bit when you’re watching a movie. He also maybe pulls you in and whispers soemthing sweet into your ear but I don’t think it would be exactly ‘I love you’.

M = Marriage (Do they want to get married? If so, what kind of ceremony?) Hendery definitely wants to get married. He doesn’t nessecarily wants everyone to know you’re his but he wants you to know how much heh loves you and that he wants to be with you until the very last day. He only has eyes for you and you know you only see him. It’s not about the others, it’s about you guys. And about his sisters and his mother they would end him if they don’t get a wedding picture with their only son/brother.

N = Night out (What type of dates do they like to go on? How often do they like to go on them?) Having a busy schedule he will make room for dates whenever he can. You would be the person waiting for him at his work place to be over with his shift to surprise him and take him out to cheap cozy pubs or your favorite streetfood places. Especially in winter when your breath condences and your noses are all red, you would get some hot snack and stroll through the streets and just enjoy each others company. O = Out of the Ordinary (What’s something they don’t normally do with/for their s/o?) You guys would seldomly go somewhere expensive or dress fancy/ got clubbing. The two of you can get excited and party but clubs just aren’t your thing. P =Playful （Are they playful in a relationship?) I suppose Hendery Is quite playful! He turns small daily things into a challenge even though he is not the most competitive person. He is the kind of person give playful cute little pecks or teasing you in a lot of harmless, non-suggesting ways. Q = Questions(Do they ask their s/o their opinion on things? Do they share theirs?) You guys car about each others opinions because it’s important for you what the other think but he wouldn’t change his desicions because you think differently abotu something. R = Random (How spontaneous is their relationship? Do they do things on the spot or plan ahead?) Hendery is pretty spontaneous. He would sometimes pop into the bathroom when you’re already brushing your teeth asking you if you will go to a movie with him. Ofc you will! S = Sleep (How do they sleep with their s/o?) Actually I can see him as both the big and the little spoon. Both have their benefits, it depends on the day really. T = Trust (How much do they trust their s/o?) 200% He introduced you two his mother and sisters. If he trusts you with that situation, he will trust you with anything else.

U = Unique (What makes them unique as a s/o?) Hendery is cheerful but in a very chill way. He will root for you and has this great quality of making you feel great about yourself. That’s what you love about him and why you fell for him. V = Vulnerable (How long until they can be vulnerable around their s/o? What are they like in this state?) As mentioned before: You were friends before lovers. During the first half year of your friendship he held back on telling you his problems or letting you know when he fet down. During that time he usually met less with you when he was stressed or knew he wouldn’t be in a good mood, maybe ruin yours. W = Wild Card (Get a random domestic headcanon of the character of your choice) Every now and then you would find the time for a game night with some of the members. I am not talking board games but computer games! While everyone chills on discord you would sit in the same room or across the hallway. You usually played for the opposing team and every now and then you yell across the halway or physicially try keeping eachother from winning if their team is doing too well. X = X-Ray (What would they do if their s/o got injured?) During the first few seconds: Plain panic. But ones he sees it’s not that bad and you just hit your head on one of the cupboard doors he will get you a cooling pack and maybe laugh at you a little bit. “When will you stop hitting your head on the same door over and over?” Y = Yuck (Do they have any annoying/weird habits? Are there any habits that might bother their s/o?) Being chinese he loves drinking hot water. So far no problem but it always bothers you when you mix up your waterbottlesin the morning and you’re at college/work burning your lips on freaking hot water. Z = Zeal (Are they passionate as a s/o? Do they want or like passion?) Muted passion it’d say. He can get raunchy and everythign but alwas in a very subtle way. Of course he is down to switch it up if you want him to.

not sure why but i got really emotional thinking about key's comeback today. i'm genuinely so stressed and worried. for context i'm a relatively newer fan, i became a locket while he was in the military so his upcoming comeback will be my first solo comeback with him, but from my observation, the fandom doesn't really support his solo work as much as the others? i just want the album to do well so he can see how much people love and appreciate him idk. i keep berating myself for not having become a fan sooner or not being able to bulk buy albums or do anything other than stream. am I irrational for being worried?

well, congrats on your first key solo comeback, anon! we are gonna be fed so well.

and yeah, like i was saying earlier, key's solo work doesn't get as much support, and it dooooes annoy me.

tbh, i wouldn't say i'm nessecarily worried though?

but like, i do jump back and forth between wanting key to get as much hype and recognition as possible, and wanting his album to do well - and then, not giving a fuck because numbers don't mean shit, and i trust that whatever he puts out will be stellar and i'll enjoy it so really, why do i give a fuck.

i doubt he cares, as long as the fans enjoy it, and is something he can be proud of.

also, i think international fans really think highly of themselves when it comes to the popularity of artists lol

like, even if we don't see as much hype, or high numbers or whatever, it tends to not reflect what it's like in korea

because, key is super popular there.

like, obviously shinee are icons, and incredibly well-known, but over the last few years, key is really becoming a household name because of his appearances on maaaaany variety shows, and of course his place as fixed cast on amsat (and now his potential place as fixed cast on i live alone 👀). he's known as more than just a kpop idols. he's a true entertainer at this point.

like, one of the reasons it's so funny when key makes those 'why wouldn't they know who i am?' jokes is because most people do know who he is.

so yeah, no need to be stressed over it, just enjoy it! and definitely don't worry about not becoming a fan sooner.

key himself said, it doesn't matter when or why you started supporting him and shinee, just that you do.

key knows how much we love and appreciate him.

A bright sparkling smile magically appears on Artimus's face, "Welcome back to The Bachelorette, we now have Boston Reeley here with us, a 22 year old scientist from San Myshuno. How are you doing Boston?"

Boston gives his best amicable smile, despite the heat and stuffiness. "I'm doing pretty good!" He says brightly. "I'm not really used to being on camera anymore, so I'm a bit out of my element, but I'm getting used to it pretty quick."

Artimus turning his dazzling grin towards Boston, "For someone who has always avoided the spotlight what made you want to be on the bachelorette?"

Boston chuckles lightly, rubbing his shoulder. "Well my sister showed me the ad with Maisie's, and I couldn't stop thinking about her. Plus, one of my big things is that I love gathering new experiences. So I figured, why not put myself out of my comfort zone and take a chance. I might not win, but at the very least I think this experience will help me grow."

Artimus nodding, looking sideways at the camera, broadening is grin for the camera due to some prompts by the director to smile more, "What are your initial thoughts on Maisie? First impressions?"

Boston blushes lightly. "Well obviously she's gorgeous. But beyond that she seems like a person I could really relate to."

Artimus chuckling at Bostons reaction, "Does it concern you, the rumors going around that she is a part of a mob family?"

"No it doesn't." Boston says firmly. "I know what it's like to be constantly associated with your family and I know it doesn't define who you are." He says. "And I know you can love your family dearly with nessecarily wanting to be involved in your world, and even if she is, then I know better than to judge a person based on just one aspect of their life you might not understand."

Boston nods. "Rumors are honestly part of the reason I don't like the spotlight. People hear things and think they know what the story is without even even meeting someone."

"Unfortunately that's part of stardom but let's move on," Artimus clearing his throat and broadening his smile again, convinced that last part with be cut. "What are you hoping to gain from this experience?"

Boston chuckles. "Well ideally an amazing partner." He jokes. "But really just becoming more well rounded, doing things I wouldn't usually do, getting close to people I wouldn't normally meet. I think I can maybe come out of this a better person."

"What do you bring to the table? Is there anything that makes you stand out from the other contestants?" Artimus inquires, getting the interview back to a safe median.

"Well looking around in probably like... The squishiest contestant." Boston jokes. "I see a lot of very manly, tough looking guys, and I'm the type of guy who puts sweaters on his cat and makes space puns." He laughs. "I don't if that an advantage or not, but I think I definitely stand out."

Artimus laughs, being very manly and muscular himself, "We definitely don't get very many contestants like you in our challenges but the staff thought you'd be a good fit for Maisie like these other men. You'll just have to prove it to her."

Boston gives a bright smile. "And I'm really looking forward to it. Thank you guys so much for giving me this opportunity."

Artimus's grin broadens, "Do you have a plan on how to win Maisie’s love and affection?"

"Well I plan to be myself for sure." Boston says brightly. "I want to be really open and honest. I might make her things or bring her floeers, just try to be thoughtful and considerate. I also plan to tell tons of jokes and maybe show off a few pictures of breaker." He jokes.

Artimus chuckles, "What are you going to miss most while stuck in the house? Is it going to be Beaker?"

"Definitely Beaker." Boston agrees with a laugh. "He's my baby and usually he sleeps curled up with me every night. In also going to miss my job, since I really genuinely enjoy what I do."

Hi there. :) I just saw and read your post about the reasons you dislike the Shameless/Gallavich fandom and don't dislike the show itself, and I found myself agreeing with many of the points you made. The toxicity and the constant hate and negativity of the fandom is one of the few reasons I couldn't be a part of it myself anymore. I'm just curious as to why you think Mickey shouldn't have been brought back to the show?

i honestly just think that his story was over.

i love mickey, and i’m not saying he doesn’t deserve the life he’s gotten with ian. despite the issues with his characterization in s10, i think that his overarching storyline this season was very good and worked well. i just feel like it’s sort of, for lack of a better word, sloppy.

his character has had three different endings by this point. i know that there are reasons for that beyond the show itself, but i just find it frustrating how you’ve never seen the last if him. i know some would say that its part of who he is, part of his relationship with ian, how he defies all odds and makes it back to the man he loves or whatever. which i don’t think is wrong, nessecarily, i just don’t feel the same way. to me it just feels like, at best, the writers just don’t know what to do with him.

if i could do anything (besides have him never have gone to prison in s6 in the first place), i would have had s7 be the end for him. honestly, i think that s7 should have been the end of the show (ive actually thought about this at length, i think that with a few tweaks this could actually have worked.) so in that case i would have had Ian go with him, but if not i would just have however ians storyline ended, be that in s9 or in s11, end with him going to mexico with mickey.

again, i don’t actually dislike mickey’s presence in s10. i enjoyed seeing him finally sort of get what hes deserved from the start, and though his characterization was awful, his arc was genuinely interesting. though i do wish they hadn’t just dropped the cartel thing for no reason. i just don’t think he needed to be there to begin with.

tbh fe3h probably was implying that dimitri had a crush on edelgard w/ his 'i dont see her as a sister' thing

but i feel like it's in character for him to just rlly love her as a friend, n her not just being his step sister but the empire's princess while he's the kingdom's prince is just. really heavy, there's this innocence in not thinking about that that he wants to hold onto so him saying 'to be honest i can't see her as a sister she's my childhood friend' doesn't nessecarily mean he had a crush

First of all just because someone is cathoic doesn’t mean they follow all the rules the church set for them.

Second of all where do you get from that he is catholic in the first place? Yes Romania is a catholic country but the man left when he was 8. Even if he didn’t leave that the country has a main religion does not mean that all it’s people share that belief. He never speaks about religion that I heard. If you did feel free to share the source with me otherwise I am gonna chuck his belief system up to unknown. He has the right to keep parts of his life private so I am not even gonna attempt to find out.

Seb: I don’t know man. Never say never. I diffinatly thought about marriage. I would like to have kids one day.

Seb: Yes that is a priority. Not nessiscarily right now but at some point. I diffinatly feel that spending my life with someone. Married or not is a priority and sorta something that is possible. Hey look I don’t have great examples of marriage in my life. My parents were divorced when I was two or three you know. My dad remarried and it didn’t work out for him. My mom remarried and it was a beautiful marriage but at the same time it sorta had it’s ups and downs. So I don’t have a lot of good examptes of marriage nessecarily. So I am sorta torn on it. I love the idea of it but I don’t ecute it anymore as I used to in my 20s to like long term or a nessicity to loving someone for the rest of your life.

How do you go about tackling characterization when you write? We get together in a call, talk about what we want to do, then get distracted and watch Gideon Glick videos for hours. Lottie spoke a little at length about this when we were discussing the question, and this is what she said: I think that, because originally it was just me working on the fic, and I initially created all these characters on my own, my original intent was to create characters that best served the story I wanted to tell. And that story, originally, was Hanschen’s. I never intented, initially, for this to nessecarily be a Hernst fic. Of course, naturally it became one, because that was the nature of the plot, but the story I wanted to tell was completely and utterly Hanschen’s story, and I think that shows in the fic. I created these characters to serve a very specific purpose in Hanschen’s story (apart from Ernst and Georg, obviously), so I looked at a moment in the plot, and said to myself ‘what needs to happen and who do I need to make that happen?’. From then, I created a character to serve that purpose. Lammermeier is an great example of this. Lammermeier was the second kid to be created (after Johanna), and was there to serve as a confident for Hanschen, someone who could relate to Hanschen and who could, essentially, have brighter, happier moments with Hanschen. Ernst served the same purpose, though obviously on a much deeper level than Lammermeier, and it was a different kind of confide. Obviously. (Because clearly Hanschen doesn’t love his son the same way he loves Ernst, that’s just weird.) I hope that maybe kind of answered the question?

Lottie: Okay so I really love My Junk, but also Mirror Blue Night. And Word of Your Body Reprise. I just love the whole show. Aaagh.

Got any particular hernst headcanons?

Lottie: Hanschen wears pretentious round hipster glasses that he says are for fashion but in actuality he just needs them to see and is embarassed about it. Ernst always asks to try them on, but Hanschen gets flustered and never lets him.

Also, Ernst absolutely was going to call Melody Hanschen before he realized it was a girl.

Alex: Ernst, no matter if it’s canon-era or modern au, always drags Hanschen to church every single Sunday.

Lottie: 'This wasn’t the first time Lammermeier looked at him as one would look at a puzzle. Trying to piece together the bits that made up Icarus, though, seemed futile. The boy was unlike any other and he was completely smitten, regularly having to stop himself from doodling his name when he was supposed to be studying algebra. You’re a Rilow, for crying out loud, act like one.‘

Also just the entire conversation between Dieter and Ernst in Chapter 4. Dieter is a lil hoe and we love him.

this episode had a mixture of everything so let’s talk about it!

magnus/lilith

i found their dynamic to be very interesting and i wonder why she chose magnus instead of any other warlock who could probably also be powerful enough to do this but SHE CHOSE HIM and i wonder why [eyes emoji] also i kinda want to see lilith and asmodeus interact. just me? okay then

like i said before i do feel for lilith but ngl what she did to jace is pretty evil af. even tho i don’t nessecarily agree with everything jace does, this is really bad and it will cause a lot of problems

anyway back to these two. i really enjoyed watching this scene. i love that the show gives us dynamics that the books never gave us.

i also love how magnus knows every warlock in the city. bet lorenzo doesn’t.

watching lilith talk about “her former lover” being a soldier kinda makes magnus think about alec but not only alec, all the people he’s loved and outlived and it gives me pain

I just wanted to start with saying that I totally understand where they're both coming from in this case and it's breaking my heart

because in alec’s mind he knows shadowhunters love once, fiercely and they don’t have as long a life a warlock for example and alec doesn’t want to become a burden to magnus either. and considering he’s a shadowhunter and the way shadowhunters live and love it’s not that odd for him to ask to move in but on the other hand magnus just wants to take his time because he’s been through this before and it never really stopped hurting and i get why he said ‘yes, but not yet’. like this isn’t a situation where one is wrong and the other is right, they both have their reasons and it’s vaild it’s just.. (i don’t like using that word) but it’s complicated HOWEVER i have zero doubts they will work through it together. they always do.

I loved how they handled the thing with the box because Alec knew it was wrong. he just wanted to know because he's having insecurities about being insignificant in the long run because in his mind magnus is only going to have a piece of him left once he's gone and he's not like blaming him for it but alec also doesn't want to cause him pain but like it's this nagging thought I feel like he keeps having in these episodes and it's sitting on his mind a lot and magnus is just like 'let's enjoy the here and now' because he's not ready to lose him any more now than he would be years from now and the thing is alec's only issue with magnus's immortality is his own mortality because he can't stand the idea of being the cause of that pain

alec saying ‘I LOVE YOU TOO’ KILLED ME DEAD

and magnus finally getting to say i love you first even if it wasn’t a direct ily it was implied and i died

i absolutely loved that whole scene?? I LIVE FOR IT

and it also made me sad because when underhill said ‘it’s loving, trusting. it’s amazing’ you could see the guilt on alec’s face for invading magnus’ privacy by looking into the box..

alec deserves all the praise because he truly paved the way for shadowhunters like him aka lgbt shadowhunters who grew up in the strict society of the clave where they thought they could never ever come out

i’m honestly so here for alec having a gay friend who is there for him not for any selfish reasons but just to be a friend to him and i love it

also f.u. to the articles/people who paint underhill as a villain. THERES NO REASON FOR THIS. besides alec apppointed him head of security after raj was sent to wrangel island. at least get your facts ready.

my mom is both a very positive and very toxic aspect of my life

i love her. i really do. she taught me how to be the person i am today and i credit at least 50% of that to her. she gave me a good base to work off of. she serves her 90+ year old parents and drives my brother and i around (we don’t drive, i’ll get to that in a second). she doesn’t have a job but her work is taking care of my grandparents and house stuff. she’s a traditional mom. thankless jobs as expected of her.

however.

my dad (nice guy, works a lot, less strict than my mom and def doesn’t wear the pants) gets up at 3:30-4:00 am every morning for work. he leaves at 6 in the morning for work, gets out of work at 3:30 or so, goes to the gym, comes home and eats dinner, relaxes for a bit, and goes to bed at 8:00 pm. my mom follows a similar schedule. she wakes up with him and goes to bed with him. this is a long way to say my parents go to bed at 8:00 pm on weeknights. this, in turn, causes my brother and i’s curfew to be 8:00 pm. for some reason, it’s an unbudging law that my mother has to see that we’re home safe before going to bed. this means she sleeps on the couch until we are back home, in turn guilting my brother and i for staying out past 8:00 pm. it’s quite confusing because we are at school for months on end without her knowing where we are and it hasn’t been an issue then. (i’ve walked up to 2 miles back to my dorm by myself drunk at 3:00 am. it happens, you’re in college)

i’m 22. my curfew is 8:00 pm.

now i don’t drive. the reason for that is a chain reaction from the things above.

i didn’t have friends in high school. sure, i had people i enjoyed and called “friends”, but i didn’t hang out with anyone outside of school and rehearsal. if i ever did, it was quite briefly because my mom would wait for me in the car outside my friends houses for 30 minutes (she must be early to being early) and it guilted the hell out of me so i’d go to her early. if i stayed out until when i’d say i’d leave she’d lecture me in the car about how she wakes up at 3:30 every morning at that i have to cut her some slack.

i never got a driver’s license because i never had friends in high school. there was no reason for me to get one. i wouldn’t be visiting friends, so why bother?

i did the driver’s ed classes the summer that i was 19, had a job where i lived at school all summer when i was 20, and did my onroad lessons last summer. i have a renewed permit (yes i had it long enough) and now it’s like pulling teeth to practice driving with my mother with my incredibly limited windows of having her available. she drops off my brother at work and comes home at 9:00 am, has to slave for my grandparents or has errands to do afterwards, and when she comes home she’s too irritated or tired to do anything with her. she has to pick my brother up from work at 3:30 pm and has yardwork or things around the house to do until then. after she gets my brother, it’s 5:00 pm and her day is essentially done.

the few times i have driven with her have been quite stressful because 100% of her body is 100% tensed up. i’m not sure what routes to take to drive (i don’t drive lol) so they haven’t been to challenging so far, and if i were to go on the highway or take too long of a drive my mom will stroke out. we drive one or two times a week for less than 10 minutes at a time.

sure, my mom’s environment and situations is what makes her an incredibly stunting aspect of my life. my brother and i try to bring this up to her, but she hits 100% anger and is completely irrational if we try to talk with her about our feelings of being trapped and lack of freedom in the nicest way possible, so it’s impossible to talk to her about it and make any change.

she insists that she sleeps on the couch to see us walk through the door and is angry at us when we come home, or if she’s too tired to be angry that night, will yell at us in the morning.

it’s manipulation, plain and simple.

sure, slaving for my grandparents and driving my brother to work (30 minute commute) makes life tough for her, but my brother and i are adults. as one of his friends put it, “i could stay out past 8 pm in kindergarten”.

i don’t nessecarily.......... b l a m e my mom for all negative aspects of my life, but i can certainly attribute a good 70% of them.

not being able to stay out past 8:00 pm all of my life has caused the following (some may be stretches but they’re quite rational to get to):

not being able to form stronger friendship bonds with my friends in high school causing....

me to have a warped sense of social bonds with friends

me to not be able to drive at 22 causing....

me to not have a sense of freedom, bothering my mother and friends for rides and all the things that come with that, etc.

me being 22 not having my first kiss yet (possibly a stretch, but it tracks. i’m nervous to engage in that kind of intimacy because i have no experience with it)

being scared to try literally anything new

losing out on 3+ hours a day of possible “having fun in the prime of my life” because fuckin memaw goes to bed at 8:00 pm

being depressed during the summer due to lack of autonomy and freedom

literally so much more that i may edit this post and add more as i think of them

anyway i’m deeply emotionally exhausted and just wanted to write this out so thanks for reading
