Lost In Translation
For context please consider reading:
Part: 1
So, I've made my case on why the four main characters are most likely not in middle school. Then, what are are their ages? I must convey, that Old Xian has never mentioned within or outside of the series what the ages of the characters are. All anyone can do is assume. But, there are in fact, context clues that are given to us in the chapters of what their ages might be.
Most of the "evidence" I'm including in this part are more so logical fallacies. I am just going by the "Affirming the Cnsequent" theory. Which, refers to the statement of: "If X is true -> then Y is also true." So nothing here is gospel, just my own interpretation of given context clues.
I will not be using any non-story related art created by Old Xian, due to me wanting to count the chapters within the story as canonical events.
Some Thoughts:
Mo Has a Job
Tumblr media
In what is probably the most crucial confirmations of the characters not being in middle school. Mo Guan Shan has a job.
Tumblr media
As apart of child labor laws in China, 16 is the minimum working age nationwide. Meaning Mo Guan Shan has to be at least 16 years old. I guessing that the woman Mo works for is not a relative being that she fires him later on.
Tumblr media
What's interesting about this is that not only does it confirm that Mo's age is at least 16 years old, but in tandem, confirms that He Tian is above 16.
So what's important for context here is understanding Chinese honorifics.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What He Tian is calling mo whenever he says "little Mo" in Chinese is 墨子 (Mò-zi). " 子" (Zi) literally translates to "young one" or little one" but in context is an indication that Mo is younger than He Tian.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Big Bro" is 哥哥 (Gēge) and "Brother Mo" is 墨哥 (Mò-Gē). "Gē & Gēge" is an honorific that conveys the person being spoken to is older. Mo's friend Cun Tou has always referred to Mo as "Gēge" meaning Mo is most likely older than him.
Since it is confirmed that He Tian is older than Mo,
Tumblr media
He Tian is probably jokingly referring to Mo as "Mo Ge" to putting Mo metaphorically above himself.
This means that if He Tian is older than Mo, and Mo is 16, then He Tian is above 16.
He Tian's Hotel Room Purchase
Another interesting idea here I that He Tian is able to purchase a hotel room.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So He Tian has his account frozen here, so it's more than likely a joint account (I'm guessing with He Cheng since his account is frozen after they fought). Since He Tian is also told beforehand that he can not purchase the hotel room without a legal guardian, he's probably not 18 (age of an adult in China). I do feel as if he is above 16 due to the fact that he is able to purchase a hotel room later, without a legal guardian.
Since you must be above 16 to purchase a hotel room in China. And, at least 16 to apply for a joint bank account, I'm assuming that the hotel room he was trying to purchase originally was for adults only (ie. Had purchasable alcohol or was a "Love Hotel").
Anyways... that's where I'll leave it for now. I have a lot more thoughts on this that I could make a whole other post. But the rest is mostly circumstantial, so I didn't want to include it here. Just know, there's so much more about the characters' ages in this. If you made it this far, thank you for reading! And let's continue this discussion together! I would love to hear everyone's thoughts and opinions on this, as well as anything I might have missed! ❤️

What are the boys’ love languages?
No one asked me but here’s my opinion:
Jian Yi & Zhan Zheng Xi- Quality Time
Nothing is more important to them than spending time with their loved ones, each other more than anyone else. I also think Jian Yi is a sucker for Words of affirmation tho
He Tian- Physical Touch
Isn’t obvious? He gets his hands on Mo any chance he gets. It can come off a little strong but when you understand that that’s his way of feeling loved you kinda get it more.
Mo Guan Shan- Acts of Services
That’s when he feels seen I think and the morning after She Li’s aggression shows it. That’s where he switched. He let He Tian in and let him take care of him in a way he would’ve never dared before. Letting him dress him, accepting his food, accepting his cures. He’s so precious omg I love him too much bye
Bonus:
She Li- murder
Feel free to disagree but be nice

So I have another 19days headcanon. The reason HT is so annoyed at brother qiu is because to him (when he was little) Q “took” his brother away. (I saw someone’a post which got me thinking)
So for HT it was always his brother who he was close to in his family. Them two against the whole world, if you must. This is common in kids. So when Q and HC started working together, HT could see how close his brother was with him, how HCs eyes always looked for Q, how HC never out loud but subtly gave some amount of importance to Q, was attuned to him. Children are very perceptive like that.
And may be it was misplaced but HT was angry/jealous of Q because now he had to share the spot of the important person in HCs life.
And as much as we don’t want to and we grow up, even adults have trouble getting over such emotions and HT is just a teenager. so he would definitely be quiet not over that feeling.
Adding to this we have seen how possessive HT is, he doesn’t like sharing. (Maybe this also comes from his past but for me to make an assumption about this I need more background information). This possessiveness would be doubled in case of Q because it’ll be the second person Q “will take away” from HT.

Lost In Translation
A deep dive into the widespread misinformation of 19 Days (19天) prod. By: Old Xian (Old先)
Part: 1
Part: 2
Hello! 19 days readers! How many times have you and I seen this online?
"19 days takes place in the past when all of the characters are in middle school."
"I've been reading 19 Days online, and I just found out that they're all 15 year olds??!"
"What? They don't look like they're in middle school."
Many people within the 19 Days Fandom seem to believe in two important details about this story: 1. This story is a flashback. 2. The flashback of this story takes place when the characters are in middle school.
However, while it is provably canonical that the story we are reading is majorly in the past. The ages of the characters have never been specified by the creator of the web series Old Xian. In fact, there is more evidence directing towards an older age for the main characters than the one perceived by most readers. But why is this the case? If the story itself shows the readers what the ages should be assumed to be, why would so many people assume a completely different age? This confusion is mostly caused through the mistranslation of the readers.
Now, while it should be stated that 19 Days has no official English translation at this time. The fandom's appointed English translator, "Maomaozaii" (on Twitter), has never stated within the translation of a chapter, nor off script the canonical ages of the characters. So where is this "they're all 15 year olds" claim derive from?
Here's what I've fround:
19 Days: Chapter 45
Tumblr media
In what is probably one of the most perplexing chapters of the series, Our main character Zhan Zheng Xi, explains that his best friend Jian Yi had disappeared after the second day of high-school began. Jian Yi explains in a "flashback" sequence that he was kindaped to an island by two strange men, which Zhan Zheng Xi has a hard time believing.
Tumblr media
This has lead to the majority of the fandom assuming that the story of 19 days takes place before Jian Yi was kindaped. When the two boys would have been in middle school.
However this idea can be quickly debunked when continuing to the next chapter.
It is never stated how long Jian Yi was gone for, but what is stated is that both boys are still in high-school after Jian Yi returns.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After showing back up to Zhan Zheng Xi house, Jian Yi works on homework and expresses that he wants to attend the same university as Zhan Zheng Xi when he graduates. The chapters after Jian Yi's return continue with the two's daily life in high-school with no reference of taking place in the past. Due to this I can be assured that the story is taking place contemporarily.
19 Days Wikia
Tumblr media
Now I'm sure most of us understand why "Wiki" & "Wikipedia" pages are not considered reliable sources, I will explain just incase. Fandom "Wiki" and "Wikipedia" itself are pages of a website that can be created and edited by anyone with a wiki account. These accounts are not moderated and not verified by the site owners. Meaning, any information released on the web pages are not from official or trusted sources, and shouldn't be taken as authentic. The 19 days Wikia, makes claims of canonical information that has never been specified by the creator, within or outside of the web series. Along with this, the web page itself is entirely outdated, only having coverage of the series up to chapter 210. As well as other false information.
19 Days: Chapter 122
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This chapter introduces the infamous "3rd Year" label on the lockers next to He Tian and Jian Yi. Most people will see this and try to surmise what "3rd Year" refers too. So let's talk about the Chinese school system.
Tumblr media
"3rd Year" in this instance can refer one of two Grade levels: "Chu-3" (9th Grade) or Gao-3 (12th Grade). The assimilation by viewers that believed that Jian Yi is still in middle school with Zhan Zheng Xi that the "3rd Year" label refers to "Chu-3" making all of our main characters 9th graders. However, as I stated earlier, it is shown to us that Jian Yi and Zhan Zheng Xi are both still in high-school when he returns. Which if the label refers to "Gao-3" or 12th Grade this would also make since. If Jian Yi gets kindaped the second day of 10th grade (second day of high-school), disappears for two years, then comes back, it would make him a 10th grader. Which would make the most sense following what is shown to us within the story. I will STRONGLY note; that neither, Jian Yi nor He Tian interact with the side the lockers labeled "3rd Year" are on. So, it's possible that it's not even in reference to their grade level.
So... what are their ages?
