Okay obligatory DnD person as per the Dungon Meshi post(dnd/fantasy au + our life is amazing and I love it) but also I just wanted to say that there is a subclass of elves in dnd called aquatic elves that are kind of a happy mix between a mermaid and a, well, normal elf. I stick more towards spooky rather than nautical campaigns myself, so I’m not too familiar, but if I remember correctly they’re amphibious but with two legs rather than full mermaid.
Also obviously please ignore if you have different ideas but based off of what people have written about battle roles I could absolutely see some subclasses for the four!
Derek I could absolutely see as a Paladin(subclass possibly being oath of devotion or glory) basically the more defensive tank guys bound by an oath they make to themselves or someone important to them, which gives them a little spellcasting as well as actual auras that buff their allies later on.
Baxter I could see being a Bard (College of Swords), or what I kind of think of as a sort of battledancer. It would be a little less of a full spellcaster, but you can do special flourishes when fighting with a rapier which I always imagine as pseudo-dancing, plus he’d still get all the flashy bard spells. And to top it off, Bards actually use their charm(charisma stat) to cast spells which just screams Baxter to me.
Cove is a little harder but if you were going with him having a fish/animal companion while still being a melee fighter a Ranger(Beastmaster or Swarmkeeper) would be a good fit IMO, obviously with the Cove Creater he’s harder to pin than Baxter or Derek, but Ranger is pretty flexible. You basically get to choose a companion that’s from the land, air, or sea; and they can help you out in battle and follow you around, or as Swarmkeeper he could have his swarm be a school of fish.
Ruri is obviously a bit harder because you know your OC best, but if you really wanted to lean into more into the familiar/animal buddy route. Druid(circle of the shepherd) is always a fun choice! It’s kind of like the more spellcaster version of rangers’ Swarmkeeper where you can summon a lot of critters while still having some super strong elemental spells.
But anyway! I hope this wasn’t too long, I saw some (kinda) DnD our life content and I couldn’t resist! But thank you again for the adorable art of the main boys(and your lovely OC!) in a fantasy setting!
Second ask from dnd anon:
Oh! DnD anon part two!
But basically the theoretical party composition would look like:
Derek = Tank/Damage
Cove = Weapon Damage/Companion(s)
Baxter = Spells/Weapon Damage
and Ruri = Healing/Spells.
Also one last note about Druid is while druids have a lot of elemental spells (create water, spike growth, etc.), they also have the ability to do something called wildshape, where they can shapeshift into an animal for either out of battle(wildshape into a mouse to get under the crack in a door, then returning to normal and unlocking it) or battle (at later levels imagine fighting a spellcasting bear or even dragon) but also has more silly implications like wild shaping into a songbird to sing with Baxter, or a cat or sloth to ride on Cove’s shoulder.
got these asks a few days ago but i let them marinate in my brain hope you dont mind anon KJDSAUH
anyways AQUATIC ELF THATS PERFECT i tried to stick to what i knew about dumenshi rules in that post but for my first fantasy AU ideas i was going to do Cove a half mermaid (Cliff human x mermaid Kyra or elf Kyra [shes just so pretty its insane] x mermaid Cliff) that lived in a house right on the beach lmao, im happy that actually makes sense somewhere in dnd
i tried to look at the aquatic elves wiki from the forgotten realms fandom and omg so much text in the main page
also paladin Derek canon‼‼ imagine he does his oath to his brothers right after something dangerous happens to them when they were kids (im not saying his parents should die but im not saying they shouldnt--)
and bam!! tragic backstory 10x worse than his canon that is already bad enough :DD (try to make him feel less responsable now i wanna see that)
baxter turn rn. DO YOU THINK HE WOULD PLAY VIOLIN? I WANNA SEE THAT (<-this person didnt thought about drawing him with an instrument until it was time to write her thoughts) anyway it would def be a fancy instrument, daddy and mommy wanted to keep appearances i bet
one his spells makes his sword and moves shine and when hes under the sun his enemies become fucking blind
everything about him screams I HAVE MONEY but everytime people try to rob him he just rolls a nat20 in persuasion and they end up giving him money
and omg just imagine Cove's school of fish are all his pet fishes from the game JGASDFJK
im also. not discussing roles when the most i know about dnd is bg3 and i just finished 2 playthroughs. if you say ruri is a druid she's a druid, she makes super artsy flower fields and decorates every tree she sees with organical paint or smth jkfhds
Ruri's forest has a tree that connects with the ocean and they both just hangout sometimes (as if theyre not together 60% of the time already)
DRUID RURI THAT LIKES TO BRAID COVE'S HAIR WITH LITTLE POPPIES‼‼‼
MERMAID COVE THAT LETS RURI (otter form!!) RIDE HIS BACK WHILE HE SWIMS‼‼‼‼
mermaid cove humming a song and ruri falling to the river in trance/j
anyways anon i agree with everything tbh, there's so many ways to do a fantasy AU and i adore the dnd version (id kill for a dnd group or smth in my city)
i also have another fantasy au more vanilla but not-really. basically isekai baxter LMAO mostly an excuse to make ruri and baxter being domestic but before baxter developed any real domestic skill JHASFD
#rui draw smth#our life#olba#our life: beginnings & always#baxter ward#cove holden#derek suarez#our life mc#olba mc#anyways mermaid cove will always be on the back of my brain waiting until i feel like drawing him#for baxter and cove i just say silly stupid things and when it's derek's turn i kill his parents. lovely#rui answers

A boy named Spooks
5 years ago my life changed forever. Desperately looking for a new kitty-companion due to the loss of my previous one. Scoping around the pet shop, I was on a mission. Not to find “the one” or pick the most favorable one out of the bunch—but to seek the misfits that don’t usually get chosen. Ones that need a a loving home and a little extra patience.
After a few possibly candidates, this particular shockingly scrawny tabby caught my eye. His captivating hazel eyes filled with grief. To find out he was on a hunger strike due to the loss of his pervious owner. Whoever was going to take him home would need an understanding of how much work and dedication this would take…..
I immediately took him home.
A very long story short… here we are. After months of hand feeding, singing to him as he hid under the couch, attempting to lure him out with treats and love. Can proudly say Spooky has fully recovered and eats probably more than he should. 🤣 What can I say? He deserves nothing but the best. Like any rescue animal, he needs hconstant care—suffering dearly from his abandonment issues and fear of being left behind. Don’t worry! He gets reminders daily that this is his forever home.

Naga bitty information
Here is the information on all the Naga (snake) bitties we have in the shop!
cut below for length
Moonjelly (Undertale Sans): a peaceful garden snake, Moonjellies tend to live near homes and businesses with gardens or window boxes. He likes to pick off vegetables and eat small insects or the occasional mouse that enters his territory. He’ll adjust well to human contact and will eat any unprocessed foods (fruits, vegetables, meat). Keep a sun lamp handy so he can warm himself, though he can survive without it. It’s more of a comfort thing.
Sunjelly (Undertale Papyrus): another garden variety naga, Sunjellies are even more easygoing than their matching brothers. He only eats leaves and vegetation, being too kind to hurt another being for their food. They do enjoy sparing with either each other or other bitties, but only until someone gets tired. He’ll eat fruit, nuts, and vegetables, and enjoy the sunlamp, but he’ll also need more direct attention and love.
Hisser (Underfell Sans): These snakes are more aggressive, but they’re primarily egg eaters. They tend to live in tree hollows, eating the eggs of nesting birds or the young of the squirrels that also nest around those areas. He’ll be perfectly happy with a couple of eggs from your fridge, and a warm spot in the house, but make sure he knows you want to be there for him or he’ll get hostile toward you. He only allows family or those he cares for to be close to him.
Merc (Underfell Papyrus): A mimic in facial structure for a venomous bitty, these snakes have large fangs despite being constrictors and egg eaters. His diet at home would mostly be a large egg and some bits of meat, and he’ll warm slowly to an owner who provides for him. To get him to like you better, keeping a clean home and letting him choose activities will go a long way.
Bushsnake (Underswap Sans): These naga bitties are rarely seen because they tend to hibernate most of the year. They live around berry bushes since berries are their main food source. A Bushsnake in a home will not hibernate since they only do this for the purpose of sleeping through between berry ripening seasons. They will be awake year round and energetic. Feed on berries and fruits, frozen or canned is fine. Very quick to bond with owners.
Mouser (Underswap Papyrus): These are found in barns and other areas frequented by mice. It’s not that they want to hurt the mice, but Mousers are smart enough to know humans see mice as pests and that keeping their population down helps keep humans away from him and from the areas where Bushsnakes tend to live. In a home setting, he’s fine with any unprocessed food, but will be partial to meat just because they’re used to it.
DarkMoon (Horrortale Sans): These are hunters and despite their small size, they’re a force of nature. He takes down things his own size or slightly bigger, including birds, rodents, and the young of bigger animals. He uses his limited magic to corral his prey, and he’ll use it to prank you until he gains respect for you. This is easy to do if you have a good supply of meat and let him feast as he wants for the first few days.
DarkSun (Horrortale Papyrus): A general omnivorous naga, he’ll eat anything he can manage to swallow. DarkSun’s tend to enjoy home life a great deal and become very attached to kindly and generous owners. Feed any unprocessed foods, and treat him with respect, and you’ll have a friend for life in a fortnight.
Diamond (HorrorSwap Sans): Named after the rattlesnake, these are actually constrictors. The name comes from the way they rattle their open ribs if threatened. They eat live prey, but are just as happy with frozen mice or meat chunks. Make sure to let them explore your body when they first get home, as they’ll be very curious about how a human or other monster is different from himself. Set your boundaries though, or he’ll go EVERYWHERE in his thirst for knowledge, and then he’ll be so embarrassed and ashamed when he finds out he invaded your privacy!
Treeboa (HorrorSwap Papyrus): tends to climb things, but is lazy and more likely to be an ambush predator. Enjoys eggs and birds, as well as small reptiles and mammals as prey. Will use you as a climbing post, but won’t hurt you unless you hurt him first. Climbing on you is a sign he’s accepted you as his owner.
Squeakers (HorrorFell Sans): Has the same problem with unintentional laughing and noises as all horrorfell sans types, but his come out as small squeaks. Will make these sounds even in his sleep, but if he is calm and happy it will be more rare than when he’s first getting used to his home. Omnivore, but leans towards meat in preferences.
Leader (HorrorFell Papyrus): One of the few venomous bitties, they tend to show their fangs in warning if they’re angry. He tends to stay in shady areas since he’s the most actively warm natured of the nagas. Eats meat of any kind, prefers whole prey. Will eat more if he has to defend himself and use venom.
Titan (UnderWorld Sans): prefers fish as food, and enjoys water. These are bigger than your average bitty by about an eighth of an inch around, and two inches longer. Their jaws work strangely, but they are generally peaceful and lazy.
Feeler (UnderWorld Papyrus): These naga bitties are fascinating and tend to eat small insects. They make their way around by magic sense alone, and enjoy having a companion to help them. They will also eat small pieces of meat, especially if it’s shredded.
Clicker (UnderWorldSwap Papyrus):
Clickers have the same mouth trouble as their legged counterparts, but it makes swallowing their preferred fruit diet all the easier. They’re usually found around fruit trees, especially when the fruit is falling. They can’t speak, but sign very well and will purr like most bitties when content and happy. They can be a bit of a scavenger, as they like and can easily eat fruit that is past its prime, so they sometimes end up a little drunk off fermented ones in the wild! Loves cuddling hands and fingers, curling all around them. They also tend to press their chests to palms, so you can feel their soul pulse. They want their owners to know they’re happy to be with them. this makes toys with holes they can slide through a definite must!
Goosey (UnderWorldSwap Sans):
They will naturally summons hands to sign like their legged counterpart. In the wild, they live off the mashed fruit their brothers tend to bring. If they don’t bring any, or there wasn’t a lot, sometimes the brothers feed them like birds. (it’s gross, but they mean it in love and don’t do so in a proper home setting. or anywhere else there’s adequate food) They have heat sensing capabilities, so they can get around fairly well on their own! They also enjoy finding (but not eating) small mammals and playing chase with them. This can be simulated by using craft puffs warmed in a microwave or oven
Caesar (FellSwap Red Sans): This is another little venom baby. He likes to hiss and present his fangs, but won’t use it unless he has no other choice. His venom is anticoagulant and corrosive, so you’ll bleed for a while after but it won’t kill you unless you already have a condition in a similar vein. He eats meat and will keep your house rodent free without prompting. Haughty and prideful, he’ll hold himself pretty highly, so it might take a bit to win his favor. Once you do, though, he’ll beg for your attention.
Berma (FellSwap Red Papyrus): A constrictor, he’ll curl up into a ball as a defense. Be gentle and soft with him, and he’ll uncurl and lean into your hand in no time. Loves any food, but will ask for sweets often, especially maple flavored. Amazingly heavy for his size since his magic is thick and powerful.
Milksnake (SwapFell Purple Sans): impusive, these little squeezers are energetic and quick to bite, but won’t put pressure on if they aren’t scared or angry. They tend to squiggle around everywhere, and will make a lot of messes in trying to explore, so just clean up after them and wait till they’re satisfied they know the house. Likes anything food wise.
Rain Viper (SwapFell Purple Papyrus): basically, feed them anything and they’ll be fine. It’s a good idea to be nice to them, since they’re venomous, but their chill nature will make up for any slip ups. He tends to try to trick you out of more food, but it’ll be fine. He may also try to take your jewelry if you have any, or your spare change if you don’t.
Wyrm (UnderTomb Sans):
These guys hide snacks in their ribs like all Undertomb Sans types, and love wiggling around and acting ‘spooky’ by hiding and jumping out at others He’s a heavy boy - they average around three pounds! Will hide in your clothes if it’s cold, especially if you’re still in them! He just wants to be warm, so a big blanket with a few hand warmers inside will be just as good. For food, they like meat of any kind, but can eat anything.
Knucker (UnderTomb Papyrus):
A Knucker likes to hide in burrows; this can be clothes, sand, dirt, cotton balls, anywhere narrow that he can hide in. Warning, this means he might do this inside your clothes if he gets in there! Just tell him about personal space and he’ll not get in there again. Like most Undertomb Papyri, he has a screechy voice, but enjoys attempting to sing. Extremely curious and limber, he’ll try and get into just about anything, no matter how high up! They usually grow to about three feet long! he’s a lot longer than he ever would be tall, but that’s something he enjoys! so many coils to dig himself into! As for their diets, they eat meat by choice, but can safely consume any food.
Reverie and Figment: (dream and nightmare)
With similar powers as their legged counterparts, these little snakes deal more with daydreams. Reverie will help you have productive daydreams that help you get ideas for work, or for any creative endeavors you have. Figment will deal with the intrusive thoughts side of daydreaming, reminding you (when he senses they occur) that those are not your true self or a reality you’re facing, but the odd misfiring of your mind. They both eat anything you’d enjoy, but always want to eat at the same time. carry two servings of any treats you bring with you.
WARNING: DO NOT SEPARATE THIS PAIR. THE FIGMENT WILL GO DARK!
Dark Figment:
this variety will also lose his eye and grow tendrils on his back when he goes Dark. A Dark Figment will become venomous, but with a highly hallucinogenic substance that also corrodes nerve endings painfully. The visions will be all your worst fears coming after you at once, and you will see yourself doing terrible things to the people you love most. If you survive the experience (which is a 75% chance) you will never trust your own mind again without intense therapy. If you choose to try and rehabilitate a Dark Figment, please use extreme caution, have experience with venomous snakes, and wear thick gloves and clothing when handling. Again, it will take years before he is Safe.
Clay (ink sans)-
His tail is long and thin, and his bones are etched with bas reliefs in the aztec style, which he likes to color with henna or other temporary dyes. He likes a balance of meat and vegetables in his diet and will happily cuddle or doodle with you anytime. He likes to use his namesake to make statues that he colors with his dyes.
Moccasin ( error sans) - requires antivenom in the starter kit. Tends to be one of the only Error types that doesn’t mind touch as much since he prefers his warmth to come from mammals than from an outside lamp or heater. Will substitute one of those ‘warm in the microwave’ plushies for their owner, though, if the owner has to leave. Prefers meat and fish for food.

My Masterlist.
Mae LeBlanc's small but sturdy frame stands in the middle of a silent house. Just hours ago she had been in a tiny broken down apartment where she'd gotten ready for the funeral of the last two foster parents that she'd ever had. She was surprised when she was told to attend a meeting with their lawyers, but now surprise didn't begin to cover the emotions she was feeling. Her fingers trace over dusty surfaces, tchotchkes and knick-knacks from the lovely elderly couple that had taken care of her through the latter part of her teen years after she'd been passed from home to home since grade school.
One two many things would go wrong, turn up missing, accidents that were unexplainable happened around her and with many of the caretakers being religious or superstitious, eventually seeing the link between her arriving and things going wrong, she'd get sent back into the system again. None of these things were ever her fault directly, she never meant to hurt anything or anyone, that was the last thing she wanted to do. She was actually very sensitive and highly empathetic and whenever anyone was so much as in a bad mood around her she would feel it. This led to a lot of loneliness, a lot of abandonment issues and depression throughout her life. She tried to remain cautiously optimistic. A little voice in her head had always suggested that perhaps if she just fought a little harder, a little longer, that maybe one day things would turn around for her. And all that was finally paying off.
She stands in the overgrown and unkempt garden that used to belong to Bessie, her foster mother. She sees the old tool shed of Charles, Bessie's husband, now falling apart from not being used since he'd fallen ill. She takes a deep shaky inhale, holding the deed to the house in a stack of papers in her arms. They had left her the house and everything in it. She was overwhelmed, touched and deeply appreciative of the gesture. She could leave that sleazy apartment complex now, she wouldn't have to worry about paying rent anymore. The weight of her responsibilities begin to lift off her and she finds herself sobbing a combination of happy and sad tears into the dead patch of rose's that Bessie always loved. She cries until the sun starts to set, sniffling and realizing she had a lot of work to do now. But all of it was good work, hard work sure but she'd never shied from hard work. Her life had had too many obstacles to overcome for her to not work hard.
The next day she yawns, a cup of tea in her hand as she strolls around the garden, she sees the patch of roses with new life in them. Vines plumping and buds sprouting where she'd cried. She finds it most curious, but it's far from the strangest coincidence that had ever happened to her. She touches the buds gently, and lets out a heavy sigh. Perhaps it was a sign, she thought. She was being given an opportunity here, that was clear. She'd always loved plants and gardening, not having the place to do it since moving out of this house. Her tiny apartment was full of succulents and herbs on windowsills she used for cooking. She'd always been gifted at keeping plants alive, she felt like she understood them. So she sips her tea and considers opening the flower shop she'd always wanted. A dream of her's that now seemed to be a reality. And if those witches that had approached her were right, she should be able to grow such things to sell, shouldn't she?
When she'd been kicked out of one home after a very isolated freak storm hit the house after an altercation with her foster sibling, she was sent back into the system. This was when the women from Miss Robichaux’s Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies came to her. They told her she had powers and she told them they were full of crap. She'd brushed them off and told them not to contact her again, that she wasn't interested in joining a cult. But as she sat and thought about what they said, if she did indeed have powers, a lot of things in her life would've suddenly made a lot more sense. She never explored it further, not letting herself indulge in a fairy tale fantasy such as that. She wasn't special, why would she be? She was just a cry baby who's best friends historically were all animals. Just another number in the system, biding time until she aged out and became a statistic. She saw no reason she would be so lucky as to be so special.
The day after the roses bloomed from her tears, a cat shows up. She feeds him some tuna she found in the pantry and he laces between her legs and meows loudly as if to declare he was home now. He was a beautiful thing, long white hair and fluffy with green eyes. He was very large, she thought he must belong to someone but after scouring social media and the papers and looking at every 'LOST CAT' poster she saw for months, nothing came up so she decided to keep him. She named him Percival, Percy for short as he seemed like such a regal little gentleman. He was no trouble at all really, very intuitive and he listened when she spoke. She had a little companion to keep her company in the sizeable house and she was grateful to have him around.
Over the next year, she works as hard as she ever has. Selling what was valuable in the house to give her a nest egg. She sets the garden straight and takes business classes at community college while working in lawn and garden at Lowe's. She takes in any information she can and starts to cultivate her collection of plants. She keeps them in the sunroom and more in a greenhouse that had replaced Charles's old tool shed in the high fenced garden. She'd never felt more fulfilled but there's this sense of longing that keeps coming to mind after she lets her mind calm in the evenings. When she would light candles and incense and soak with oils and herbs in her large tub it was like she could feel a breeze as she heard something like faint whispering in her ears that gave her a strange feeling. It wasn't exactly loneliness or grief, but like something was missing she couldn't put her finger on.
Within six months she has the keys to her building she now owned. Within two months, her flower shop is up and running and within 4 months she's grown a clientele through hard work and word of mouth. She was known for having rare flowers and doing lovely arrangements and custom pieces. In the neighborhood she became the go-to for all occasions; funerals, wedding's, parties and holidays, she covered it all. She was very busy but she was the happiest she'd ever been in her life, a goal achieved and being lived filled her with love and light and she poured it all back into her work. She set her own hours, waking up and cooking, having tea and talking to her plants, sometimes singing to them when she'd listen to music. She would say goodbye to Percy and roller skate to work. It was a workout and gave her a chance to listen to music and get in the zone for work for the day.
Her days were lively and full of people and no moments of idle hands. But when she would come home to a house devoid of any other human life, sometimes her loneliness would creep in heavily. Cooking for herself, watching tv by herself, the leftovers piling up in the fridge over the week. The surplus of canned vegetables and jams from the garden adding up with no one but her lovely friends and neighbors Ruth and Nancy to give them to. She knew she was lonely, but she wasn't very good at reaching out and connecting with people. She never had been. She'd always been told she was a bit...off. A little weird, cute sure, but not beautiful enough to warrant her awkwardness being overlooked. Her sensitivity often led to react strongly to things and men never took a liking to that and when she would go out with someone it didn't ever really lead to anything. After a while she'd given up. She had her own life that was what she'd worked hard to achieve but there was still that strange pang inside her, not even sure if it was loneliness for another person at this point, she assumed it was just depression making her feel less than.
But then the dreams started. It was small at first, she'd dream about the swamp, hanging willows draped in Spanish moss. Algae thicker than her thighs over dead bodies of water that were teeming with life under the surface. It was dark and dank and still. Reptiles sunning on rocks and alligators floating with camouflage with their dinosaur eyes slowly blinking. She watches with curiosity until it quickly grows dark. The moon hangs high and she can barely see. What was once charming and quiet is now loud with the buzzing of insects, the hiss of unseens snakes, she feels the thick, black water around her skin, unknown things slithering and bumping into her, filling her with fear. She's tugged down slightly, too afraid to move, with the warmth of the sun gone she starts to smell the rot and decay of the lush greenery. The dead bodies thrown into the swamp now calling out for revenge, the beasts that outlived the other dinosaurs now pulling her down into the black water and then she'd scream and wake up, gasping for air.
The dreams begin to change. Instead of walking into the swamp she turns and walks away in a forest. She hears odd grunts and groans, following the sounds through the moss covered tree's in the dim light of the woods. She sees a fire growing in the distance as the moon rises again, and the bent form of a man silhouetted against it. He's speaking a language she does not understand or even recognize. She wasn't even sure how he was making some of the sounds. He's covered in layers of mud and paint, his skin resembling tree bark with its cracked and jagged surface. His face turns to her, obscured by the colors and the flames, his eyes glow white and she freezes. She somehow knows the words are meant for her, his bright eyes grow more intense, blackness oozes from his mouth as he begins to growl and sputter his words as he starts to crawl towards her. She feels something moving across her skin, she sees snakes wrapping around her limbs. Huge black iridescent beasts, that consumed her inch by inch until everything was blackness and she woke up.
The next night before going to sleep she brings Percy in and snuggles him, lighting some calming lavender incense she tries to be relaxed and welcomes happy dreams. These other dreams left her feeling oddly drained. She finds herself in her garden, the sun is shining, she's in her favorite combination of little dolphin shorts and a tank top happily working away. She hears a man's laugh from inside the house. She stops and listens, placing the tools in her hands on the ground. The sound gives her a warm feeling, unlike what she'd experienced in her other dreams. A loud, booming and charming laugh that had perhaps a slight lilt of an English accent to it. She tilts her head with curiosity. The smell of baked goods hits her nose and she sighs happily. Fresh from scratch bread being made in her kitchen she thinks, the faint hint of patchouli coming through and growing stronger. It feels so warm and inviting compared to her other dreams, she feels happy and content and it feels amazing. She hears footsteps on her patio stones, the squish of grass under feet and she freezes, seeing men's boots appear, walking towards her. She see's worn and faded blue jeans resting atop sturdy brown boots and they stop when she notices them. Her eyes move up his body slowly, a plain white t-shirt, bracelets on his wrists and various different metal necklaces hanging around his neck. He was built well, didn't look to be any older than his thirties, the way his crows feet grew when he crinkled his blue eyes with uncertainty as they met hers were the only thing to give away he wasn't any younger. A thick ginger beard covered his face, darker but matching hair in a medium length, partially slicked back but messy style. His eyes go wide as do hers.
"That you love?" he asks, leaning towards her slightly and she feels a very strange sensation in her stomach, like a giant caterpillar was suddenly bursting out a cocoon and was now flapping wildly inside her. She gasps, taken back by the intensity of the feeling, which was odd for how intensely she was used to feeling things. She sits up in bed fully, not gasping or sweating, but that same strange feeling continues in her stomach. She looks at Percy who has his head tilted and his eyes narrowed at her.
"These weird dreams are getting weirder." she mumbles, taking a deep breath and reaching out to scratch Percy's chin. He had an inkling what may be happening, but he lacked the ability to tell her.
She goes through her same routine, adding a shower to the mix that morning to clear her head and the weird feeling in her chest. She comes in early, watering and talking to her plants, feeding them special food and adjusting the lights and Ph for all her babies. Being around them usual calmed her, made her feel more whole, but that day as she worked she felt oddly anxious like she was waiting for something to happen and she had no idea what. Being someone who suffered from anxiety this wasn't entirely new to her of course, but instead of a fast heart rate and sweating, she felt a strange hunger of some sort that not even a big lunch helped.
She'd kept her sunny demeanor through the day, people being very complimentary of her work and how fast she did it. But a certain wannabe southern belle white girl that used her flowers often came trouncing into the shop at the end of the day. She was one of a trio of girls she'd only been referring to as 'the white girls' as they usually moved in a pack like a grouping of cackling hens and had mad a few micro-aggressive remarks about Mae's half Spanish ancestry. They had stuck up noses, money, and privilege to spare.
She was purchasing Chrysanthemum's, baby's breathe and pink rose arrangements for her daughters first birthday. She was throwing a garden party for her. Which Mae saw as pointless and odd for a one-year-old but business was business. As usual, the blonde dripping in Lilly Pulitzer and her designer bag was trying to talk her way to a discount, citing how much she'd bought from Mae and that perhaps she had earned a discount. Or why didn't she do some sort of frequent buyers rewards program like the chain florists did? She wanted to say, because I'm not a chain florist, obviously, those things take time and records and a computer system she didn't have time to figure out or money to buy. But she knew the woman wasn't interested in any real reasons for conversation.
She gives her a fake smile and a fake laugh and says the same thing as always, "If I did it for you I'd have to do it for everyone else."
The woman was entirely disinterested already, seeing she wasn't getting her way and turning on the attitude and silent treatment, literally pouting and whining, huffing and stomping her feet in her cork wedges as she went out the door.
Mae sighs and shrugs, seeing it's almost time to close. She goes into the back to do one last round with the plants. She's humming and doling out treatments and praise, making notes of stock when she hears the bell on the door ring. "Hello!" she calls out before moving towards the front. She sits the canteen down and makes her way to the front counter. She sees the man from her dreams. This time he was real, at least she thinks he's real. She's certain when he steps forward with that same look on his face and speaks.
"Mae? Mae LeBlanc?" he asks in a charming English accent.
She's hit with the dream all over again. It was precisely him down to the necklaces. She's hit with every emotion, both good and bad all at once it seems. That twisting her gut comes back hard and her stomach shudders. She doesn't feel as afraid as she had but feels...something. She realizes she feels overwhelmed and tries to take a deep breath.
"That you love?" he asks, just as he did in the dream and her head starts to spin.
She lets out a nervous laugh, mouth opening to try to speak, but instead, her eyes roll back in her head and everything goes dark as she quickly becomes too overwhelmed with the unknown to continue functioning.
"Oh, fucking hell." he groans, moving fast to pick his soul's mate up and sit her in a large soft chair in the back of the shop. He turns the sign on the door to closed and proceeds to lock up and shut down the building. He grabs her bag and carries her to his car, gently placing her in the back seat that had the child locks in case she woke up while he was driving. He decided he'd take her home and they'd figure things out from there.

seas who could sing so deep and strong [125]
Judge’s sometimes heard that pets are supposed to look like their owners. He’s not sure what that means for him and Handsome.
It absolutely one hundred percent applies to Kore and her Helminth Charger, who’s DNA she’s recently modified - or maybe it’s something to do with Helminth itself and its adoration or even reverence for Nidus - to make it look like her Nidus.
It also definitely applies to the Empress’ kavat who he’s only seen glimpses of. Kavats, in general, are not known to be overwhelmingly intimidating in appearance. They sort of give off the same aura as a katana or a dagger. Sleek. Dangerous. Lethal precision. Sharp. The Empress’ kavat looks less like a skana or skyla than it looks like a Gram or War. If kavats could lift weights and bulk up then this kavat is one of them or maybe it ate the champion of them. Judge has seen this kavat twice and both times have left him with a feeling of such existential dread and primal fear that he’s pretty sure he just blacked out the other times the creature might have been present.
It’s a different type of…feeling altogether than what he feels when he looks at Spooky. Spooky’s cute. Spooky is charming. Spooky is a little baby who wants a cuddle and a kiss on her hideous little head. Spooky’s visage makes you turn your eyes away out of instinct and the desire not to have your entire everything shut down.
The Empress’ kavat makes you avert your eyes out of respect and fear of consequence.
Judge, for the life of him, could not tell anyone what color that kavat is because he’s never let his eyes linger long enough to process that information. He’s not even heard the creature’s name because he’s mentally blocked out all sound related to the kavat out of self preservation.
The Alpha has a rotating mass herd of animals around him at all times, which somehow suits him very much.
Chic has Percy the dog, who despite being very sweet and bubbly and bouncy is also very Chic in that she sometimes gets this look on her face like she’s judging you very hard and laughing. Also she likes to be pampered and Chic has pedestals made of Oro.
Punk, though. Jude.
Jude.
Jude’s dog is named Pug. Pug is a tiny little Chesa kubrow that Judge is fairly sure that if it were born in the wild would be considered the runt of the litter and possibly eaten by the others. This is not to say that Pug is not a formidable companion.
(Pug is not a formidable companion. Pug is a decent companion who fetches like he’s supposed to but is also very small and…runt-ish and has trouble picking things up because he’s so small and it’s very cute but its also not very pragmatic. This is also not to say that Judge doesn’t like Pug. Judge loves Pug because everyone loves Pug because it’s impossible not to love Pug because he’s Pug.)
Judge doesn’t know if Jude and Pug are perfect reflections of each other or complete opposites. Jude’s Chroma is big and broad and loud and fire-breathing and generally kind of just…all around vividly in the moment. Jude is athletic despite the fact that he consistently does average in most of their missions and has lower stats than all of them. Jude is also remarkably self confident for someone who has to be rescued from his own mistakes on a regular basis.
Pug is amazingly tiny. When Judge first met Pug he though that Judge hadn’t matured him for combat yet and was about to scold him for bringing Pug to a high level Infested extermination zone.
Pug is little and sweet and sometimes a little shy and skittish but overall a sweet, beautiful boy who’s doing his best and is living his best life with his little tail and his small paws and his little tongue.
Judge adores him.
Even Kore adores him, and does this openly. She’s nicer to that dog than she is to Judge.
Kore’s almost died for Judge. Judge is fully convinced that she’ll do the same for Pug.
Kore goes out of her way to lie down so she’s at Pug’s level and tell him that she loves him when she sees him. Judge swears that during a mission he saw her wall-climb and perch and just watch the general chaos for a while because she was just watching Pug run as fast as his little legs could carry him to bring back ammo for Punk whenever he heard or saw a stray magazine fall.
The Punk and Pug duo are an amazing team of enthusiasm and…more enthusiasm. You can’t even get mad at them because Pug is so…Pug. And everyone’s used to Punk being Punk.
Judge rubs Pug’s paws in his hands, the little dog’s stump tail wagging as he pants softly.
“You’re amazing,” Judge says to the dog, “I respect you.”
“Don’t hog the dog,” Kore says, colliding into his side and making grabby hands for the kubrow. “My turn.”
“No, you had him last time,” Judge says, trying to angle his body away from her as she tries to reach around him. “I’m trying to tell him something important.”
“Can I get my kubrow back?” Punk says.
“No!” Judge and Kore reply together.
“Neat,” Punk says. “Okay, Alpha my man, I guess we’re here fishing until forever. I’m not getting my dog back any time soon apparently. No, buddy, I don’t want another dog. Yes, it’s okay, they can play with my dog as long as they want. Yeah, I mean look at how happy they are! It’s totally fine. I’ll get Pug back later when they’re asleep or something.”
Kore’s voice is a low whisper in Judge’s ear, “Joke’s on him. I’m never going to sleep.”
“You can’t do that,” Judge whispers back, “Insomnia is my thing.”

Any background for the spooky kids (Ace, Perci and Arthur)?
I've done Perci before, so this'll be about Ace and Arthur.
He's beauty, he's grace; look out evil spirits, here comes Ace:
Ace (or Akira) is a seemingly normal young man, with a dark secret within his soul. He is plagued by his demonic past, seeking refuge with yokai and other spirits;
He is the reincarnation of the infamous Fudo Akira, a.k.a. Devilman. In a desperate attempt to escape Satan's grasp after he destroyed the world to keep the demon all to himself, he commits suicide, hoping for a new better life;
Not particularly fond of his birth name, he decides to be called "Ace", because he excels at what he does best as a Magi: Dispersing evil;
In his new life, Ace's soul is still bound to demonic forces, and gets genuinely upset at the western imagery of his demon self, thus using wondarian magic to change himself into an Oni;
Prior to joining the RSA, Ace was a lone wolf, strongly preferring to work solo, due to his trust issues caused by Satan and his wicked experiments;
Underneath his nonchalant demeanor, Ace is a painfully lonesome man. His tough attitude is a façade to cover up his deep desire for a genuine friendship;
He's also terribly soft. He used to be a crybaby, but has successfully learned to mask his sadness for years... only for it all to crumble down, thanks to the RSA's wacky brand of kindness;
He takes pride in his Oni form, smugly showing it off in random occasions, such as eating spicy food without flinching and drinking alcohol without getting quickly lightheaded;
Ace has a delinquent streak on him, as he won't hesitate to throw hands with people. Some say that this is mindless behavior, but those who are close to him know that he does this to defend his loved ones;
As he comes out of his shell, Ace finds a new reason for living. All that he craved was the company of people who wouldn't treat him like a freak experiment or use him for selfish means. With the RSA: He finally gets what he wanted all along: To be truly human, and be percieved as such.
As it was told in the cards, Arthur is coming up next:
Arthur is a young but skilled fortune-teller, forever cursed to be reminded of how his past life came to an abrupt and sad end;
He's the reincarnation of Arthur Kingsmen (from Mystery Skulls Animated), who fell into a deep chasm, being violently impaled by sharp rocks as a result;
Despite having a connection with the spirits, he's a coward. He's terribly anxious and jittery, getting easily scared by things that are way out of his area of expertise;
He has a special set of tarot cards gifted by his guardians, called the Mirror Cards, allowing him to predict other people's possible futures;
Other than fortune-telling, his passion is music. He has his own army of singing spirits, that he can command within the movement of his magic conductor baton;
He has a crush on Ace, admiring his bravery and take-no-bullshit attitude. Arthur deeply wishes to be as courageous as him, and to expect the unexpected like a true Magi;
While every other RSA member quickly accepts the magic surrealism of their lives, Arthur is grounded in reality. He thinks he's the normal one of the bunch, because he's the only one with a lick of self-preservation;
However, he's not shamed for being scared. He's reassured by his companions, being told that it's human nature to fear the unknown and that he shouldn't push himself too far to please others;
With the help of his friends, Arthur becomes braver at his own pace. Little by little, he grows stronger, overcoming his lingering feelings of doubt and inadequacy;
Arthur fervently wishes to embrace uncertainty. He only became a Magi so he can develop his own courage, instead of being overshadowed by others due to his fears and anxieties. He wants to be someone that other people can rely on;
His end goal is to life a happy live to the fullest, to ensure that his future reincarnation doesn't suffer from his curse, finding happiness in exploring the realm of the living for as long as possible.

Thoughts I had about Sailor Moon characters in thwo world of Avatar the Last Airbender/Legend of Korra while I was in bed at 3am-
Obviously, Usagi is the Avatar. She doesn’t know it, and actually hasn’t ever done any bending in her life until she’s 14 when she goes through several whoops-I-accidentally-bended-an-element moments, and she just thinks maybe before you get your “one true element” you have like bending-puberty or something, so she keeps it a secret until she can announce what element she finally settles on. She lives in the Earth Kingdom (maybe Ba Sing Se, I dunno, feels about right), and for the past couple of weeks after randomly getting powers a unusual animal has been following her around... its a cat, but not a normal one like a cat-deer or a cat-bird, its... just a cat? WEIRD. Well, some spooky bad spirits start messing with some humans, possessing them and transforming them and junk, and Usagi is informed by the cat that she has the power to heal the humans and calm the spirits; turns out the cat is actually a spirit, and Usagi is the Avatar. The spirits seem to be manipulated by some other force, and it gets worse every full moon... so she has solve the problem and master all four elements before... uh... the lunar eclipse. Sure, why not. Yeah. Also the full moon is turning red for some reason. Spooky.
Ami is a Norther Water Tribe girl, traveling and basically studying abroad. She’s a little bit more interested in reading than fighting evil monsters, but she also hates to see anybody get hurt. Usagi learns healing techniques from her, and even gives Ami the idea of using blood bending to help people (dealing with poor circulation, blood-clots, heart problems, and more). Ami specializes in turning the water she uses into ice and show, she’s also a mechanical genius and invents all sorts of devices. Usagi admires how intelligent she is, but also just listens to what Ami has to say and values her opinions, which Ami is very grateful for.
Rei is a fortune teller and fire bender (how could she NOT be). Usagi hears about a beautiful and talented lady who could teacher her fire bending, but runs into an angry girl on her way to meet the fire bender and they have a rather heated argument. It turns out Rei is the girl Usagi wanted to see, and she refuses to teach any fire bending at first... but after seeing Usagi rescue some people, Rei realizes that she’s not only the Avatar but a very caring person. So she joins her on the journey. Rei can sense hidden spirits and is perhaps the strongest fire bender around. She and Usagi have a friendly way of bickering, and although Rei wouldn’t want to admit it, she can’t resist what a charming goofball the Avatar is.
Mokoto is a traveling body guard, but has real aspirations to open a tea shop and bakery. She’s a fire bender from the Earth Kingdom, but for some reason she can never make powerful flames, so she’s always relied more on her muscles than her bending. While trying to save Usagi and her companions from a storm spirit, Mokoto is hit with lightning... but somehow, it doesn’t harm her. She realizes she has a natural talent for bending lightning and can naturally redirect it. She loves that Usagi isn’t afraid of her for being big and strong, and is happy to join this group of awesome ladies. Not only is she the muscle of the group, she keeps everybody well fed.
Minako is secretly a vigilante who fights against oppressive police forces; she’s a metal bender, and often takes down the Dai Li when they are harassing people. She’s become a famous champion of justice in Ba Sing Se, wearing a mask to protect her identity. She actually has a secret mission from the White Lotus; find the new Avatar, as well as locate the missing Earth Kingdom Prince (who should be running Ba Sing Se, but some jerk killed the family and took over. Its probably Beryl. Yeah, Beryl). By making friends with Usagi, she discovers the Avatar. She also has a cat who is a friendly spirit. The other girls admire her and look to Minako for guidance, but Usagi also brings out her silly side and she gets to just be a teen with her new friends. She uses her bending to control a variety of chains and whips.
Mamoru is indeed the missing Earth Kingdom Prince, but he suffered a head injury during the accident that killed his parents (a rockslide caused by earth benders), and wandered the woods for 2 days alone, not sure of where or who he was. He was found by some doctors who took him and helped as much as they could. He’s grown up in an outer ring of Ba Sing Se, but attends the inner ones for school. He hates how the Dai Li terrorize citizens, and also the gangs of earth and fire benders who cause chaos on the outskirts of the city. Wearing a mask with a rose pattern (haha he probably gets called “The Rose Spirit”), he is a vigilante and somewhat of a rival to Minako, so imagine her surprise when she figures out he’s the Prince she’s been trying to find. He falls in love with Usagi, and the feeling is mutual. Ami also helps restore his memory with her healing, and he eventually takes his place at the throne.
The group decides to travel to both Water Tribes, since there are moon shrines at both poles. While criss-crossing across the Earth Kingdom and going through the Fire Nation a couple of times, they meet other important people.
While in the swamp, Usagi finds a little girl who says she’s lost. Usagi promises to protect her until she finds her way home, but after they leave the swamp and get attacked by some dark spirits, the mystery behind the girl deepens; she is also an Avatar. It doesn’t seem possible for two to exist at once, yet there she is. She gets the nick-name Chibi-Usa, and although she’s a bit bratty at times, everybody can’t help but care for her. Eventually it is discovered she’s actually a future Avatar, Usagi’s next life. Because the swamp can blur time and show us the people we used to know and will one day know, the Avatars have met each other, and the spiritual bond allowed Chibi-Usa to leave her time and enter the past.
She’s amazingly followed by her guardian Setsuna, a metal bender who simply refused to be stopped by time; she wanted to find the little girl who means the world to her. Setsuna lives a lonely life in the future as the last surviving member of the White Lotus, but Chibi-Usa is her ray of sunshine. She keeps the child safe from an evil organization in the future that wants to end the Avatar cycle, the Red Lotus. Chibi-Usa and Setsuna were escaping them after her home was attacked, and lost their way in the swamp. She uses her metal bending to manipulate a sectioned staff. She seems a little cold and distant at first, but she has a big heart.
Haruka and Michiru are a couple; Haruka is an air bender and Michiru is a water bender, both from the Fire Nation. Haruka is tall and muscular, and people often mistake her for a boy at first; she likes to wait a while until she bursts their bubble, and she can be very intense. Michiru seems effortlessly elegant, but she’s not nearly as fragile as people would think (both girls seem to enjoy messing with people who make assumptions about them). They are also White Lotus members, but are so used to being a team and doing things on their own they are reluctant to work with Minako or the other girls. Even though Usagi is the Avatar, they would rather just keep her safe from a distance than be friends... but she’s impossible to resist. Haruka can use her air bending to slash through enemy armor and smash rock, and Michiru has the power to create tidal waves. After hearing from Setsuna about the Red Lotus in the future, they realize that some rumors they’ve heard will lead up to a terrible plan.
The Red Lotus wants to create a “Dark Avatar” (and they consist of the Black Moon Clan in the current time-line. Diamond keeps flirting with Usagi, but she ain’t into you, bro. Quit being a creeper). In the future, a scientists named Tomoe has a daughter named Hotaru who has a weak body. He places her in a spirit pool with the hopes it will heal her, but the pool was a way for Vaatu to transport part of the chaotic darkness from the spirit world into a human vessel. As a result, Hotaru and her father are manipulated by Vaatu’s evil. The Red Lotus wants to use Hotaru to fully awaken Vaatu and destroy the Avatar cycle. In the present, the Red Lotus is periodically poisoning people and various nature spirits with water from the spirit world that Vaatu has tainted. The Red Lotus is making these spirit world trips each full moon, and the moon temporarily turns red during these moments. If this keeps up, the moon itself could be poisoned by Vaatu, which would be bad for the whole world.
Haruka, Michiru, and Setsuna agree it might be easier to find any members of the Red Lotus now, and perhaps even find a young Tomoe and end him before he ever has a chance to have his daughter. Chibi-Usa doesn’t like this plan; she knows Hotaru and considers her a friend. Usagi insist they find a way to save the girl in the future. After finally entering the spirit world during the lunar eclipse, Usagi realizes that just like in the swamp, the spirit world has an odd flow of time; what she does now can change the future, and because she knows what the future will be, it influences her decision. Vaatu has been poisoning the other spirits, making them evil with the ultimate goal of turning the moon spirit bad. Usagi can’t destroy Vaatu; the darkness is needed for the light to exist, and without Vaatu Hotaru won’t be able to survive in the future. Ignoring the mocking Vaatu, Usagi instead reasons with the moon spirit and does what she can to heal it. After returning to her friends, Usagi tells the future Avatar not to worry; she and Setsuna should just go home and do what she thinks is right. After a tearful good-bye from everyone, Mamoru and Usagi think about how nice it was having Chibi-Usa with them and wonder if in their own future they’ll have a daughter like her
In the future, Chibi-Usa and Stesuna find Hotaru during a time when Vaatu is trying to awaken within her. The Red Lotus (who are pretty much the Witches 5) try to stop the Avatar, but Setsuna fights them back. Chibi-Usa refuses to hurt her friend, and this bond actually helps Hotaru regain some control... when it seems like she can’t stand it anymore, the clouds in the sky part; the sliver of the new moon suddenly turns full, and the moon spirit shines its light on Hotaru. This banishes back Vaatu without harming Hotaru, and Chibi-Usa realizes that what Usagi did to help the moon spirit in the past has been repaid now. Setsuna begins training new White Lotus members, 4 young girls who were once circus performers but show a lot of promise.
Ok I’m done. I didn’t think of anything for Stars because this was already a HUGE mess.
