Origins Story
"I made it, I actually made it out of Zaun." Leonidous said to himself absolutely exhausted as he slumped down to lean on a nearby wall. "Just a little more till im home and safe... safe." He mumbled to himself as he tried to stand again but fell to his knee. His new arm just hung by his shoulder like scrap as the rain from the stars fell onto him. The chemtech augment didn't have its false cover so all the tubes and hydraulics were exposed to the rain, for all to see. He strained and begged for the arm to follow his movements but it just hung limp. Leonidous looked back towards where he came from see the acidic green trail he left behind, it was enough to make him shudder. Leonidous struggled but with no avail, his foot slipped hand he crashed his head into the wall. But he felt nothing, no pain. Leo face bled from his forehead as he propped himself up against the wall and got to his feet. "Just a little further...." he muttered looking up at the higher levels of Piltover, he knew it was much further than he believed but he was delusional from loss of blood. He stumbled through the streets of lower Piltover until he stopped at a window of a nearby building looking at his reflection in the night. "You look like hell rolled over. How are you going to honor your families name looking like that..." he berated himself and shambled on until the break of dawn, when he finally spotted some of the wardens of Piltover. Hope he felt it through his entire weary body and pushed himself towards them begging for help. And then, it came crashing to the ground. They laughed and shoved him to the ground telling him to go back to the grey of Zaun, that no honorable Piltovan would let this happen to them. Ashamed and his pride broken he hit the cobblestone hard and got the chemicals flowing through his gauntlet he felt it move with him as he got to his feet. "Oh still got some fight in you boy?" They taunted and swung to knock him down again, all he could do was act on instinct alone. He struck back breaking the officers arm, he was beaten to the ground by the other but he felt no pain, Leonidous grab the mans leg and crushed his shin in his augmented hand. When Leo stood he saw the monstrosity of these prosthetics and ran a for his home, to his family, to safety... When he got home he was shunned. The people he trusted the most that cared for him all his life casted him out like a malfunctioning machine. "No son of mine would so easily let himself become like that at the hands of some gutter rat!" "You were always the burden to the family!" "Now no one will want you." "You're just a monster now." They're words sunk deep into his conscience. Leo's insides where turned about and torn, he subconsciously wandered out of his home and towards his school. He was a shell of who he was, nothing but empty feelings, from a hollow life that he was too naive to see before. The medical college wasn't open for classes that day and he blindly pressed on. The door were unlocked, his professor ran a off time study hall for those who wanted to achieve higher education. Leonidous stumbled through the door and sat right down at his desk like he had some many times before. Leo heard his professor speak up. "Ah Mr. Drangleic you're the only one in today how have y... Good God what happened to you boy?!" The professor exclaimed with great concern as he made his way over to his student. Leo could only mutter his words. "I don't know." He wept into the hardwood desk. The professor tried to comfort him, but his curiosity got the better of him. "Where you the student who was abducted?" He asked Leo with a knot in his stomach. That was all it took Leonidous face was red with anguish as cried into his arms. "Yes... I know I'm pathetic, and now I am a freak..." His professor laid a hand on Leo's back and spoke softly. "You are no freak Mr. Drangleic, in fact the man who did this to you is, but you. You are a victim of a crime, it is not you who are at fault. Now let's dress up those chemtech contraptions so the are more pleasing to everyone else." He reassured giving him a warm smile. The professor was truly a good doctor before anything but he chose to bring about great minds into the field instead of going into it himself, and Leonidous was his favorite student. Though he struggled in class he always put forth the most effort then any other student, and always attended the optional classes, he was dedicated and the professor admired that. "If you think that would help, ok." Leo responded and stood slowly still slouched to the side with the metal augment. The professor smiled. "The engineering teacher will be able to spruce them up a bit, but my question to you is. Will you still be attending class?" As Leo followed his professor he shook his head. "No, I can't, I have no place to go afterwards and I don't have the ability to pay for it...." he replied ashamed. The professor smiled and handed Leo the Hexlink device. "You know what this is already son, but Turn this on everyday for class and if you ever need help well you know what you can do." The professor was able to get a small smile out of Leonidous. "I won't let you down teach." He responded and put the Hexlink in his pocket. "Good, here we are now don't worry he owes me a favor." The professor chuckled to himself. Hours later the engineering professor had made the fake covers for his arm and leg and installed them. "Well that should do ya well enough just don't go swimming or in to extremely damp environments and ya should be fine." He stated the headed off to his workshop. Leo's professor walked up. "So where are you going to go?" "I guess anywhere, go see what all of Runeterra looks like?" Leo sighed and tried to think about what he was going to do. "To be honest teach, I need to find myself again... I other than my life here everything else feels fake now, my family life, my view of Piltover, and the view I had of myself, feels like it was built on a lie, and everything has been flipped over and turned around for me..." His Professor smiled. "Well it sounds like you need to go to Ionia, son. They're culture is built on finding their true selves, so I believe that's what you should do. I've got a old friend of mine in Shurima getting ready to take a trip out to Ionia. Pretty sure he'll take you there if you mention me." Leonidous hugged his professor like he was family. "Thank you for everything.." Leo said starting to cry again. "Hey now don't get all teary-eyed already you have a airship to catch." And with that Leo's new life began.
#origins#that took 3 days#oml i put way to much effort into that#but I am super happy with how it came out

Hawke Profile
Tara Hawke
Short Intro
Tara Hawke is the eldest child of three to Malcolm Hawke, an apostate, and Leandra Amell, a noblewoman from Kirkwall. The family was constantly on the run from the Templars, until eventually they settled in the outskirts of the town of Lothering, living in peace for ten years. When Lothering fell under the darkspawn invasion, they had no choice but to flee to Kirkwall to escape the Blight. There, Tara begins her new life as a Lowtown smuggler, and within a decade rises to power as the Champion of Kirkwall, becoming one of the most important figure in Thedas history.
Appearance
Tara is an adult in her mid-twenties, and has an androgynous appearance. She is noticeably tall, towering over most of her companions, and possesses an athletic but shapeless figure. She has olive skin, faint scars littered over her arms and legs from many scraps and fights.
She hair is short and layered, often messy and boyish, with long bangs that cover most of her forehead. Behind them are a pair of piercing gold-green eyes.
Her outdoor outfits are simple and practical, allowing her to easily scale high walls and move freely when fighting. In her free time at home, she wears mainly black, red, and sometimes blue. She dresses most of the time like a man, diminishing any feminine traits she may have, and her formal attires are fine, elegant suits.
Class, Skills and Abilities
Tara had always been the fastest and most agile of the Hawke children. As a child, she could outrun the other children, as well as climb trees and walls much more nimbly than most. She could never throw the strongest punches, but she was better at dodging others’ fists when she got into fights. She learned to wield dual-daggers from an Antivan elven woman, as well as stealth, martial arts, and poison.
She specializes as an Assassin and Shadow, making sudden and clean kills and escaping into the shadows in quick session, often without alerting anyone to her presence. Her most noticeable ability is creating a decoy that takes enemy hits from her while she jumps out of the way, leaving them disoriented and confused and giving Tara time to strike again.
“What are Tara’s goals and aspirations?”
Tara never aspired for a life of glory and extravagance, but rather a peaceful and quiet life with her family and friends, far away from politics and war. She remembered being her happiest during the first few years living in Lothering (before her father died), often referring to those years as the Golden Days. Her own desire to live a simple life is what drives her fighting for the freedom of mages, realizing that many just want to live a normal life like herself.
“What are Tara’s religious views?”
She never believed in the Maker, nor could she ever found Him to be a particularly admirable figure and never understood why people would want to follow Him. She feels that even if He did exist, He didn’t deserve any kind of praise and was no better than mankind, since he chose to abandon His children, which just made him a “shitty father figure”.
She doesn’t believe in a higher power or deity, nor does she follow any sort of religious doctrine, though she wouldn’t consider herself an atheist. Despite lacking any religious beliefs, she still feels that there is some sort of afterlife for everyone, or at least wants there to be, because it would mean that she would be reunited with her family after death.
“What was Tara’s relationship with her family like?”
The Hawke family has always had their struggles and disagreements, but still loved and respected each other, each of them sacrificing much to keep them safe. Tara always looked forward to supper, when everyone would gather around the table and talk about their day while enjoying food. She misses those moments every day and while she loves Anders, supper never felt the same after her mother died.
She was definitely closest to her father; they shared similar personalities, and he was always a patient and accepting man. Even when things didn’t look to good for them, he could always find a way to change the tides in their favour. After his death, Tara feels that nothing has gone right for the family, and that she’s failed in living up to his image to protect her mother and siblings.
She was also close to Bethany, the two often whispering and giggling to each other at night when they were supposed to be sleeping. Tara admits that she was a little jealous that her sister inherited her father’s magic, but grew protective of her little sister when she realized the reality of an apostate. She was always reluctant to bring Bethany along in her more dangerous adventures, but still allowed Bethany to join the Deep Roads Expedition. Their relationship strained after Bethany was forced to join the Grey Warden, Bethany resenting Tara for living a rich and comfortable life in Hightown, while Tara blames herself for letting her into the Deep Roads and getting the darkspawn taint.
Tara was always had a complicated relationship with her mother, mainly because Leandra had a somewhat more traditional viewpoint than Tara, and had a hard time accepting her daughter’s “boyish” behaviour and appearance. She was always concerned over Tara’s future and people’s opinions of her, especially after Tara became a more prominent figure in Kirkwall, but at the same time wanted her to find her own happiness. After Carver’s death, the two became distant from each other, Tara still hurting from Leandra’s words when she blamed her for letting Carver get killed. They began to rekindle their relationship after moving into Hightown, though this was mainly because they only had each other after Bethany left for the Wardens.
Her relationship with Carver was also complicated. She never understood why he had to make a competition out of everything or why he felt inferior to her. When their father died, they would argue about Tara being the head of the family, Carver often saying “this isn’t how father would’ve handled it”. Despite their rivalry, Carver was the first family member Tara revealed her bigender identity to, and stood beside when she finally revealed it to the rest of the family. He even started referring to her as “sib” (shorthand for “sibling”) as opposed to “sis”. When Carver decided to join the military, Leandra tried to get Tara to talk him out of it; instead she let him go and wished him the best.
“How did Tara get along with others before the events of DAII?”
Tara was always a quiet and aloof person, rarely engaging in conversation unless she had something to say. Because the family was always on the move, she was never close to anyone that she would consider being a friend, seeing it as pointless as she would be forced to leave them behind. When her family settled in Lothering, she found it difficult to converse with the village folk and thus rarely ventured into the village. After her father died, she was forced to communicate more with the people there for assistance or shopping.
Initially the villagers saw Tara as a gloomy and sardonic, and thus didn’t approach her very often. Gradually, however, her more positive traits such as her compassion and humour began to shine through, and the villagers found her to be a reliable person who would help someone out if she had the time to spare.
What is her relationship like with her companions? Who does she get along with the most? Who does she get along with the least?”
Although quiet and distant, Tara gets along with most –if not all- her companions, gaining their friendship through her loyalty and kindness when they need her, whether it’s helping them face their own enemies or just needing someone to talk to. She may not agree with some of their opinions, but she understands where they’re coming from and tries to keep that in mind when such topics come up in discussion. She’s much more relaxed and cheery when she and the group get together at the Hanged Man, enjoying drinks and card games until midnight.
Tara’s closest friend is probably Isabela, finding comfort in the latter’s carefree and confident personality. Isabela often asks Tara to join her on some ludicrous adventure on the off-chance that there may be fortunes they could collect, and despite Tara always seeming exasperated with her, she does enjoy those adventures and Izzie’s company.
Tara is also close friends with Varric, owing a lot of her fortune and happiness to him inviting her to become a partner of the Deep Roads Expedition, and appreciates that he cares for her well-being. She also appreciates his good sense of humour and their shared sarcastic personality.
Tara and Aveline have been through a lot together and are friends, but they’ve had their disagreements and even butt heads from time to time, especially once Tara becomes more involved with the mage rebellion in Kirkwall. Tara also partially blames Aveline for the death of her mother, feeling that if she had taken the Butcher of Lowtown seriously, she wouldn’t have become a victim.
Tara and Sebastian sometimes didn’t get along, though they both tried. Their contrasting opinions of the Chantry didn’t help, and Tara finds his “blind” devotion irritating at best. Whatever friendship they had comes to an end after Tara refuses to execute Anders for destroying Kirkwall’s Chantry.
“Who did Tara romance?”
She fell in love with the apostate rebel and former Grey Warden, Anders. Initially distrustful of him, she quickly develops sympathy and concern for him after he is forced to kill his friend, Karl. She fell for his fiery passion, snarky and sarcastic humour, and dedication to using his magic to help people. After the Expedition, she visits his clinic often with food to insure that he was eating properly, as well as to chat about this-and-and or provide some small assistance to his clinic.
She initially disliked the Spirit of Justice within him, feeling that it did him more harm to Anders than good than he was willing to admit, which often created tension and heated discussions between them. Over time she learned to accept Justice and recognize the spirit as someone who gives Anders strength and purpose.
Despite the struggles and hardships they face together, Tara and Anders are devoted to each other, always there for the other in times of trouble – whether it be from others or themselves.
“What kind of Champion is Tara?”
Tara fluctuates between Sarcastic and Aggressive – she’ll often try to lighten the mood by dropping jokes and her words tend to drip with sarcasm, but she becomes violent and serious when someone takes it too far, such as harming children or someone she cares about. She’s also not above to threatening people to acquire what she needs, though she admits she doesn’t usually like doing so. She will try to talk people out of a fight, though most of the time she’ll let a companion do the talking and convincing, as she recognizes she herself isn’t great with words.
She tries not to care what the job, is as long as she gets paid and doesn’t put her family in danger. This gives the impression that she’s indifferent (even heartless) to the plight of others and only out for the rewards. Yet she continuously demonstrates having a good heart, sacrificing money to help others in need, offering words of comfort to those hurting, and willing to risk life and limb to save others out of pure compassion. By Act III, she becomes more concerned and outspoken about the injustice that occurs in Kirkwall, especially regarding the treatment towards mages. Despite her cynicism, self-doubt, and bitterness towards the world, she still strives to change people’s lives for the better.
