It takes time to get used to kissing Llewyn. He's acquired taste. His prickly beard and the smell of cigarettes that sticks to his mouth can deter you at first, but you learn to like it. Because it's him. Cigarette smell becomes comforting, the sting of his beard is grounding. If you run your hand through his dear curls and cup his cheek, his knees might buckle.

Llewyn probably won't understand at first that you're kissing him, it just won't register. No one could possibly want him, and so softly too? That cannot be. Especially considering it's you. Life doesn't love him that much. But once he understands, once he sees you're not giving up on him, that it's not a mistake, he'll put his whole being into it. He's old fashioned, at the end of the day, and his hand will rest on your lower back, pulling you closer. You never knew a kiss could be poetic before you kissed Llewyn Davis.
