Started Carnivàle and I am so sad because it is the BEST show I've watched in a long time, but it's from 2003 and I don't think the fandom is that big still, so like what do I do with this brief, brilliant show that I know doesn't get resolved because it wasn't renewed and there isn't enough conversation about how insane and great it is

some new viewers in the tag and yeah you're not going to get nearly the same level of fandom engagement you're used to seeing with new popular shows but the wider internet still has some gems floating around. for example, if you're interested in some guy's like 5k word explorations of every episode, check this out (go to the second page of the search results to start from the first episode, it's in reverse chrono)

rewatching carnivale and wishing that there were seventeen thousand seasons of it but also that all shows should have more yearning and gay pining and religious mysticism and allegories and blood and prophetic dreams and also clancy brown and nick stahl

i truly cannot believe i just spent this much time watching a show that ended nearly TWENTY YEARS AGO just to find out it was CANCELLED and ended with MULTIPLE MAJOR CLIFFHANGERS that were never even given explanations or conclusions, post cancellation. i’m livid. i feel robbed. send help please. or just new show reccs bc i’m in show limbo now. dark period drama horror with fantastical elements/deep lore are my faves.

And Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance! How dare Netflix give so much to Henson fans only to rip it away?! And no I don’t care about COVID or the fire, they will forever have my enmity!

Also I’m mad there won’t at least be a Shantaram season 2, but that’s only because I want more Alexander Siddig.
