here we go :) part one of three, updates to be released weekly!
---
sam says 4 (game master cinematic universe, part 3)
Ruby was at her mum's for a family dinner she couldn't miss on pain of death, apparently, and the Doctor was many things, but a family dinner kind of guy wasn't one of them—particularly when Carla had already slapped him once in the short time he'd known her. He thought he'd broken his streak of bad luck with mums, but… well, seemingly not. So he was companionless for a few hours, and while he could wait for her to get back, maybe catch up on his reading—what was the point of waiting when you had a time machine?
He ran his hands over the TARDIS console, marvelling at her clean lines and metallic flourishes, the way that even now she felt brand new but familiar, and paused. He’d just pop off for a quick adventure, nothing too dangerous, but—where to go?
He could scan for a distress call nearby, and pitch in to help. He could drop in on Donna and Shaun and Rose, beautiful Rose, and see how they were all doing. Or he could just hit the randomiser button, and jump in feet first wherever he ended up.
He remembered a conversation from a long time ago, when he wore a different face, and his gorgeous TARDIS wore a face too, for the first and only time.
“You didn't always take me where I wanted to go.”
“No, but I always took you where you needed to go.”
He grinned. Who could resist an offer like that? He pressed the button and whooped as the time rotor spun into action, ready to see where the universe would take him.
---
Apparently, he was needed pretty close to where he already was. Earth, 2024. Huh. Same planet, same time—within a few months of where he’d left Ruby, even. The main thing that had changed was the location: he was now in the good old US of A. California, to be more specific, and Los Angeles to be more specific still. And to really narrow it down, the Doctor discovered as he poked his head out of the TARDIS doors, he was in… a broom closet. Not bad, as a parking spot—a bit squeezy, but out of the way. And as he poked his head out of that door, he could finally see he was in the backstage corridors of a studio of some kind. Film or TV, if he was to hazard a guess, it was a different vibe from Abbey Road.
With a shrug, he decided to go exploring.
It couldn’t have been more than a minute before a young woman wearing the full-black outfit, headset, and permanently stressed expression of a production assistant came running up to him.
“Are you the fill-in Sam organised?” she asked breathlessly, and honestly, seeing the look on her face, the Doctor didn’t have the heart(s) to tell her no. And really, what was the Doctor, if not a professional fill-in? This, this was why he had a randomiser button on the control panel, because whatever he was about to get himself into was going to be fun.
“Sure!”
“Oh, thank god,” sighed the production assistant, relief dawning across her face. “When Ally tested positive this morning, I thought we were sunk for the record, because we called around and we couldn’t get a hold of anyone. But then Sam said he could get someone in, and, you know, here you are, and just in time, so—ah, yeah, if you could follow me this way?”
Smiling all the way, the Doctor followed his guide through to hair and makeup, looking around as they went. The studio seemed to belong to a company called Dropout, according to the branding scattered around, and things seemed, at least on the surface, to be… well. Fine. He couldn't tell why he'd been brought here yet, which meant that when he found the reason, it was going to be particularly tangled. He couldn't wait!
And then he looked back at his guide, still engulfed in a miasma of anxiety, and realised he'd been too busy looking for clues to notice the person right in front of him.
“Hey, it's cool, you've found me,” he started with a gentle smile. “You can relax. Hi, I'm the Doctor. What's your name?”
“Oh!” she said, startled. “The Doctor, yeah, of course. Um, hi, I'm Kaylin. Look, sorry, it's just that I've been so busy this morning, I'm so distracted… Shit, and I would've completely forgotten to get your details too. There's paperwork to fill in, but you can do that later. Um, just for now, though, can I get your pronouns?”
The Doctor thought for a moment. “He/him, for now.”
Kaylin nodded, making a note on her phone. “Okay, cool! And do you have any socials?”
“Not me, babes,” he replied. “I'm hardly sitting down long enough to be able to update, you know?”
“On a day like this, I know exactly what you mean,” she said. “That's okay, Lou didn't have socials either for the longest time. Right, so if you go through there, the team will get you sorted, and once you're done, someone will take you up to the greenroom. All good?”
“All great,” the Doctor replied. Kaylin flashed him a quick, relieved smile, then hurried off.
Hair and makeup was a fairly quick process, the sound mixer fitted him with a microphone, and before too long, Kaylin was back to take him upstairs.
“This is the greenroom,” she said, pushing the door open. “The rest of the cast for the episode are already here—they’re great guys, and they’ve both been on the show a lot, so they’ll be able to help if you’ve got questions. And if you need anything else, just come find me or any of the other PAs, okay?”
The Doctor nodded, beamed at Kaylin, and walked in.
---
The greenroom was small but comfortable, and its occupants, two men around the same age as the Doctor appeared, looked up as he entered.
“Oh, you’re new,” the taller of the pair said, clearly giving him the once-over.
The other sighed with a mixture of fondness and exasperation, just as clearly used to his friend’s antics.
“Hey, I’m Brennan,” he said, levering himself up to standing from his perch on a chair arm, and holding out a hand. “That’s Grant.”
The Doctor took it warmly. “The Doctor. Just passing through, and happy to help.”
Grant’s eyebrows quirked. “Doctor… something?” he prompted.
“Or is it just ‘the Doctor’?” Brennan asked.
“Just ‘the Doctor’,” the Time Lord confirmed cheerfully. “You’ll get used to it, everyone does.”
Grant didn’t look convinced, but—
“Copy that,” Brennan shrugged, and settled back on the arm of the chair, returning his gaze to the door.
Grant, in turn, looked at the Doctor and rolled his eyes in a clear expression of ‘no, I don’t know why he’s like this, either’.
“Okay,” the Doctor said after a moment of watching the watching. “I wasn’t going to ask, but now I think I have to. What’s up with the door?”
Brennan huffed a laugh. “Well, the last time there was one of those up—” he pointed to the Out of Order sign stuck to the bathroom door, “—we got locked in here for the game.”
“He’s paranoid,” Grant interjected.
“Well, yeah, maybe,” Brennan retorted. “Or just cautious. Because Sam’s been acting weird lately, and we’re coming up to the last few records of the season, so he’s probably planning something way out of the box for the finale. And the original cast was you, me and Beardsley, so…”
He shrugged one shoulder meaningfully, and Grant nodded, conceding both the point and the potential for chaos.
“So if Sam comes in to give us the briefing, rather than waiting til we’re on set,” Brennan continued, “or there’s anything else weird going on, I’m gonna know about it right from the beginning.”
He turned to the Doctor. “The only reason I'm not quizzing you is because I know for a fact Beardsley was genuinely scheduled for this, so you can't be a plant by the production team. No offence.”
“None taken,” the Doctor smiled. “That sort of thing happen often, does it?”
Grant and Brennan exchanged a look.
“More than you'd think,” Grant answered with a grimace.
“Alright,” the Doctor said slowly, then brightened. “So what is it we're actually doing?”
Grant gave him a disbelieving glance. “You don't know—?”
“Very last minute fill-in,” the Doctor said breezily. “But don't worry, I'm a quick study.”
“Well, you're not that much worse off than the rest of us,” Brennan said encouragingly. “You know about Game Changer, obviously, if you know Sam, and we only find out the rules of the game once we get on set. Hopefully,” he added, with a dark look back at the Out of Order sign.
The Doctor nodded. No, he didn't know Sam, and he didn't know Game Changer, but he could work out the situation from context clues. This was a game show. And with the Toymaker banished, and Satellite Five not coming into existence for another 198000 years, give or take, he found himself smiling. Maybe third time would be the charm.
“Mmm, hopefully they aren't going to throw you in the deep end,” Grant said. “Because Brennan might seem lovely now, but as soon as we get out there, he's a whore for points. He'll stab you in the back and won't even blink.”
Brennan barked with laughter. “Yeah, and you wouldn't?”
“Excuse you, I'm always a goddamn delight,” Grant replied, the very picture of injured dignity.
“Oh, absolutely!” agreed a new voice. The Doctor turned to the now-open door to see a bearded man in a pinstriped suit smiling broadly. “That's why we keep inviting you back!”
Grant bowed sarcastically. “Why, thank you, Sam. Good to know I'm appreciated by someone here.”
“Always,” Sam replied, gently but firmly ending that particular path of the conversation. He scanned the room, and his eyes lit up when they landed on the Doctor.
“Ah, you must be the Doctor!” he said with obvious delight, walking over with his hand outstretched. “I'm Sam—thanks for filling in for us, you've made sure we're going to have a good show. Seriously, it's a pleasure to have you here.”
“Aw, cheers!” the Doctor smiled, shaking the offered hand. “Glad I could help out, I'm really looking forward to this!”
“Well, great!” Sam exclaimed, then took a step back, regarding all three players in turn. “Now, folks, I'm just letting you know that we're just about ready to start the record, so if you can start heading down, that'd be great.”
Grant and Brennan nodded—Brennan, the Doctor noticed, with relief.
“See you down there,” Sam said, smiling. “Have a great show, and—”
His eyes caught on the Doctor's for a second, twinkling.
“Good luck.”
---
Backstage, the Doctor, Brennan and Grant were marshalled into podium order and given a final briefing from the crew. And then, with a thumbs-up from Kaylin, that was it.
Showtime.
“Get ready for a Game Changer!” came Sam's voice from onstage. “Tonight’s guests: he can shoot off a monologue with laser accuracy; it’s Brennan Lee Mulligan!”
Brennan, his back to the camera as the curtains opened, spun on his heel and, with a stone-cold expression, pointed finger guns straight down the barrel, before letting the facade crack open. “Hi!” he exclaimed, and walked over to the leftmost podium.
“It’s his first appearance, but he’s already on fire; it’s the Doctor!”
The Doctor leant against the archway to the stage and flashed a broad smile towards the camera, then in a few skipping steps, had bounded over to the next free podium. What the hell, why not make an entrance?
“And even in the toughest of mazes, you’ll always be able to find him; it’s Grant O’Brien!”
Grant dipped his lanky frame into an approximation of a curtsey, spreading his arms wide, then sauntered over to the closest podium with a grin.
“And your host, me!” Sam announced, a ring of manic white showing around his irises as he beamed down the barrel of the camera. “I’ve been here the whole time!”
“This,” he continued, pushing his microphone shut and stowing it in his jacket pocket, “is Game Changer, the only game show where the game changes every show. I am your host, Sam Reich!”
As he said his name, he looked at his hands, front and back, as if he was pleasantly surprised to be himself, then gestured towards the three podiums.
“I am joined today by these three lovely contestants! Now, you understand how the game works.”
“Of course not,” Grant started. “You know we don't.”
“We can't, Sam, that's the whole point of the theatre you've set up here,” Brennan said over him.
“Not yet,” was all the Doctor said, anticipation starting to drum a tattoo of excitement against the inside of his ribcage.
“That’s right!” Sam said brightly, shooting finger guns at the camera. “Our players have no idea what game it is they’re about to play. The only way to learn is by playing. The only way to win is by learning, and the only way to begin is by beginning! So without further ado, let’s begin by giving each of our players fifty points.”
The Doctor, biding his time, watched the reactions of his fellow contestants. Grant looked at the front of his podium, checking the point total, and nodding approvingly when he saw that yes, it was sitting at a round fifty. Brennan, on the other hand, was starting to frown.
“Players, Sam says: touch your nose,” Sam began, and Brennan sighed the sigh of someone who wasn’t happy to be proved right.
“Oh, no,” he groaned. “Oh, you son of a bitch. Wasn’t one this season enough?”
He touched his nose anyway, as did the others, and Sam smiled encouragingly. “Sam says: touch your ear.”
When they all did, Sam nodded. “Touch your other ear.”
Everybody held still, fingers on the ears they had originally touched.
Sam beamed. “Easy, players, right?”
“You say that now,” Brennan said darkly. “Which makes it worse, because all you're doing is setting us up for failure.”
Sam gasped, pretending offence. “Would I do that?”
“Yes,” Brennan and Grant replied in unison, which drew a grin from the Doctor and set Sam off chuckling.
“And I'm not having it,” Brennan continued, leaning his elbows against his podium and pointing at Sam with the hand not touching his ear. “You better watch yourself, because I know how this game works, and you're not going to get one over on me.”
“Strong words, Brennan!” Sam said, clearly delighted by this response. “Okay, then, let's start making things a bit more interesting!”
The game continued as per Sam Says usual, some rounds done as a group and some individual. Points were won, sure, but lost slightly more frequently, and even the Doctor found he was having to concentrate to avoid getting caught in the host's traps.
It was fun. Genuinely, it was like playing a game with friends, and the Doctor felt himself leaning into it. There wasn't any sign of danger—maybe there wasn't a mystery to solve at all, and the TARDIS just decided he needed a total break.
Well, probably not. But the way things were going, he was able to let himself hope.
“Alright, players,” Sam said a good few rounds in, just as pleasantly as he would start any other question, and the screen behind him dinged as a new prompt popped up. “Survive the death beam.”
For a second, everything was frozen perfectly still.
And then came the crash, the explosive noise of heavy machinery moving relentlessly through a drywall set.
The Doctor was already moving. “Everyone down!”
“Duck!” Brennan yelled at the same time.
The two of them hit the ground within milliseconds of each other, but Grant was still paralysed in the face of the giant, science-fiction type laser cannon that had just ploughed through the wall.
It whined ominously, screaming its way to fever pitch. And then a sharp pain in Grant’s ankle made him stagger, pitching forwards onto the carpet behind the podiums as the Doctor rolled away to avoid getting pinned.
“Sorry, babes,” the Doctor whispered. “But it was either kick you to get you down, or—”
A hideous metallic screech ripped through the air, and all three of them could feel the crackle of ozone as a beam of energy swept across what had, moments ago, been neck height.
“…Or that,” the Doctor finished with a grimace.
“Jesus fucking Christ,” Grant breathed, suddenly very conscious of every inch of his 6’9 frame. “Thanks.”
“Well done, players!” Sam exclaimed delightedly from above them. “But… sorry, I didn’t say ‘Sam says’, so that’s a point off for everyone.”
“What the fuck!” Brennan snapped.
“Are you actually insane?” Grant demanded at the same time, his voice overlapping with Brennan’s.
In response, Sam just wheezed with laughter. “You can come back to your podiums,” he said, cheerfully ignoring them.
Nobody moved.
“Very good!” he acknowledged, and even without seeing his face, the grin was obvious in his voice. “Okay, Sam says: come back to your podiums.”
Although the words were innocuous, and his tone was just as light and breezy as usual, there was nevertheless an edge hiding just underneath the surface. And while the death beam loomed large in the minds of all three players, it was impossible to consider disobedience as an option.
Slowly, they stood, returning to their places. Now they had the time to look at it properly, the death beam was even more sinister, and Brennan and Grant both kept flicking nervous glances its way, ready to move if it looked like it was charging up again.
The Doctor, however, was focused purely on the man standing in front of them. Unbothered, Sam met his gaze like a challenge, a mischievous smile playing about his lips.
“Oh, you’ll love this one,” he said, and the screen changed. “Sam says, starting with Grant: say my name.”
Grant frowned in confusion, but answered quickly nonetheless. “Sam Reich?”
The man himself shrugged tolerantly, moving on. “Brennan?”
Brennan just stared at him coolly. “Do you take me for a fool?”
“Well caught, Brennan!” Sam said happily. “Sam says: say my name.”
“Sam,” Brennan replied, suspicion clear in his voice. “Samuel Dalton Reich.”
He nodded, still with a hint of indifference. “And lastly, Doctor.” His smile broadened. “Sam says: say my name.”
It was easy. Too easy. And as the Doctor looked into the eyes of the man calling himself Sam Reich, he felt his hearts stutter in recognition, because something had changed. He wasn’t hiding himself anymore, and while the face was different yet again, the Doctor would know the shape of that soul anywhere. It was impossible. It was inevitable.
“You can’t be,” he breathed.
Sam smirked, leaning in across his podium. “Oh, but Doctor… I’ve been here the whole time,” he stage-whispered with a wink.
“He said you lost,” the Doctor said, shaking his head, looking wrong-footed for the first time that Brennan and Grant could recall. “You lost, and he trapped you.”
The other two watched, uncomprehending, but Sam just smiled, drumming his fingers against the podium with an audible beat, fast but distinct. Four taps, four taps, four taps. “I’m waiting.”
The Doctor took a slow, deep breath. Set his jaw.
“Master.”

Student Experiments Soar!
youtube
Have you ever wondered what it takes to get a technology ready for space? The NASA TechRise Student Challenge gives middle and high school students a chance to do just that – team up with their classmates to design an original science or technology project and bring that idea to life as a payload on a suborbital vehicle.
Since March 2021, with the help of teachers and technical advisors, students across the country have dreamed up experiments with the potential to impact space exploration and collect data about our planet.
So far, more than 180 TechRise experiments have flown on suborbital vehicles that expose them to the conditions of space. Flight testing is a big step along the path of space technology development and scientific discovery.
The 2023-2024 TechRise Challenge flight tests took place this summer, with 60 student teams selected to fly their experiments on one of two commercial suborbital flight platforms: a high-altitude balloon operated by World View, or the Xodiac rocket-powered lander operated by Astrobotic. Xodiac flew over the company’s Lunar Surface Proving Ground — a test field designed to simulate the Moon’s surface — in Mojave, California, while World View’s high-altitude balloon launched out of Page, Arizona.
Here are four innovative TechRise experiments built by students and tested aboard NASA-supported flights this summer:
1. Oobleck Reaches the Skies
Oobleck, which gets its name from Dr. Seuss, is a mixture of cornstarch and water that behaves as both a liquid and a solid. Inspired by in-class science experiments, high school students at Colegio Otoqui in Bayomón, Puerto Rico, tested how Oobleck’s properties at 80,000 feet aboard a high-altitude balloon are different from those on Earth’s surface. Using sensors and the organic elements to create Oobleck, students aimed to collect data on the fluid under different conditions to determine if it could be used as a system for impact absorption.
2. Terrestrial Magnetic Field
Middle school students at Phillips Academy International Baccalaureate School in Birmingham, Alabama, tested the Earth’s magnetic field strength during the ascent, float, and descent of the high-altitude balloon. The team hypothesized the magnetic field strength decreases as the distance from Earth’s surface increases.
3. Rocket Lander Flame Experiment
To understand the impact of dust, rocks, and other materials kicked up by a rocket plume when landing on the Moon, middle school students at Cliff Valley School in Atlanta, Georgia, tested the vibrations of the Xodiac rocket-powered lander using CO2 and vibration sensors. The team also used infrared (thermal) and visual light cameras to attempt to detect the hazards produced by the rocket plume on the simulated lunar surface, which is important to ensure a safe landing.
4. Rocket Navigation
Middle and high school students at Tiospaye Topa School in LaPlant, South Dakota, developed an experiment to track motion data with the help of a GPS tracker and magnetic radar. Using data from the rocket-powered lander flight, the team will create a map of the flight path as well as the magnetic field of the terrain. The students plan to use their map to explore developing their own rocket navigation system.
youtube
The 2024-2025 TechRise Challenge is now accepting proposals for technology and science to be tested on a high-altitude balloon! Not only does TechRise offer hands-on experience in a live testing scenario, but it also provides an opportunity to learn about teamwork, project management, and other real-world skills.
“The TechRise Challenge was a truly remarkable journey for our team,” said Roshni Ismail, the team lead and educator at Cliff Valley School. “Watching them transform through the discovery of new skills, problem-solving together while being driven by the chance of flying their creation on a [rocket-powered lander] with NASA has been exhilarating. They challenged themselves to learn through trial and error and worked long hours to overcome every obstacle. We are very grateful for this opportunity.”
Are you ready to bring your experiment design to the launchpad? If you are a sixth to 12th grade student, you can make a team under the guidance of an educator and submit your experiment ideas by November 1. Get ready to create!
Make sure to follow us on Tumblr for your regular dose of space!

California has gotten its first tropical storm watch ever. The last time a tropical storm hit California was in September of 1939 just after Hitler had started World War II. They didn't issue such watches in those days.
Major Hurricane Hilary in the Pacific is way stronger than low energy Hurricane Don in the Atlantic a few weeks ago; the latter spent only a few hours as a hurricane as it spun around aimlessly away from land.
Hilary will weaken from the current Category 4, but how much it will weaken is still not certain. If it maintains sustained winds of at least 74 MPH/119 KMH when it reaches California, then it will become California's first ever official hurricane.
Hurricane Hilary is expected to hit Southern California as a tropical storm, with a punch that could include flash flooding and significant amounts of rain, according to the National Hurricane Center. A tropical storm watch for much of Southern California was issued Friday morning. The National Weather Service's San Diego outpost said this was the first time such an advisory had ever been issued for the region.
As somebody who's been through half a dozen tropical cyclones on the East Coast, I would advise our California friends that rain is a bigger hazard than wind – in most cases. People in areas which have the potential for flooding should particularly remain on alert.
The 1939 storm, called El Cordonazo, became the first and only tropical storm to make landfall in the state in the 20th century, according to the National Weather Service. NWS says the storm, which was at one point a hurricane, originated off the southern coast of Central America before moving north and eventually coming ashore at San Pedro, California. Resulting floods from the storm killed at least 45 people across the Southern California region and caused $2 million in damage to structures and crops, the weather service reports. Another 48 people were also killed at sea.
There were far fewer people in California in 1939 when El Cordonazo caused deadly flooding.
Here is the current forecast for rainfall potential.
Keep up with the track of Hurricane Hilary here. Southern California should begin to feel the effects of Hilary on Sunday afternoon. Monitor local emergency information and follow advisories.
And if you're wondering why this is happening...
Our oceans are the warmest in recorded history. This is why it's so concerning

3. Submit your request in an ask using the following format: Character + Song Title.
4. Based on your choices, the resulting blurb will either be angst, fluff, or smut, with a slight possibility of monsterfucking if you select a specific AU (iykyk) but ultimately up to my discretion. So please keep that in mind if you decide to play along!
Anon requests will not be eligible for the smut option.
The window for requests will be open from today, June 20 to the official end of summer on September 22.

Touchdown! Alien Rock Returned from Billions of Miles Away!
After traveling billions of miles to Bennu and back, the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft released its sample capsule toward Earth’s atmosphere at 6:42 a.m. EDT (4:42 a.m. MDT). The spacecraft was 63,000 miles (102,000 kilometers) from Earth’s surface at the time – about one-third the distance from Earth to the Moon.
Traveling at 27,650 mph (44,500 kph), the capsule pierced the atmosphere at 10:42 a.m. EDT (8:42 a.m. MDT), off the coast of California at an altitude of about 83 miles (133 kilometers). Within 10 minutes, it landed on the military range. Along the way, two parachutes successfully deployed to stabilize and slow the capsule down to a gentle 11 mph (18 kph) at touchdown
“The returned samples collected from Bennu will help scientists worldwide make discoveries to better understand planet formation and the origin of organics and water that led to life on Earth, as well as benefit all of humanity by learning more about potentially hazardous asteroids”
After years of anticipation and hard work by NASA’s OSIRIS-REx (Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification and Security – Regolith Explorer) team, a capsule of rocks and dust collected from asteroid Bennu finally is on Earth. It landed at 8:52 a.m. MDT (10:52 a.m. EDT) on Sunday, in a targeted area of the Department of Defense’s Utah Test and Training Range near Salt Lake City.
Within an hour and a half, the capsule was transported by helicopter to a temporary clean room set up in a hangar on the training range, where it now is connected to a continuous flow of nitrogen.
Getting the sample under a “nitrogen purge,” as scientists call it, was one of the OSIRIS-REx team’s most critical tasks today. Nitrogen is a gas that doesn’t interact with most other chemicals, and a continuous flow of it into the sample container inside the capsule will keep out earthly contaminants to leave the sample pure for scientific analyses.

I’m reading some Nifty story, well written about the hazards of falling for the first guy that like you back. This was a gay and straight roommate, with the handsome Texan skirt chaser having a bad run &
like he’s returning to his dorm room DIH* [DICK IN HAND] ever weekend and every day and night when his goal is to score. He’s pretty drunk when he’s horny as hell and the gay lad, who is heads over heels guides him to a place of No Regrets. Straight boy returns home the next evening not as drunk, but still DIH. Gay kid is a mensch and provides his mouth as a facility to prevent Blue Balls.
He’s not all that accomplished in the BJ department and when your into somebody to give them pleasure, your efforts are returned as you rule. It takes a while, but they find a good rhythm When Covid made the impossible couple become more experimental as the straight one positions his boy face up, being considerate to provide him with pillow to create a perfect angle for the ultimate face fucking. With one hand on straight’s buttocks feeling the intensity and the other on his own erection,
HE HAS GIVEN HIS MOUTH NO MEANS OF PROTECTING HIMSELF FROM BEING ROUGHED HOUSED AND CHOCKED as straight’s long dick is able to disable the gay kids gag reflex and the fit Is perfection. Straight boy has a streak of kindness always checking the comfort his boy’s comfort level. He’s long stroking slowly and enjoying every membrane brisking in joy. He sensed correctly the the boy is “Lovin’ It McDonald Style” or rather “The Animal Stlyle of California based In and out burger makes for a wildly athletic and aesthetic pleasing fucking with hips and moves that are wild and perfection personified as he miss not one beat as he jerks his receiving partner and slips in a little tongue action while kissing
in between the stiff, erect and skyward aiming cock making time become irreverent for the sucker as his greatest dream is accomplished with every forceful drive. In between he indicates that he wants to be used, feel used and beckons for more. Mr Straight takes this to mean that there are essentially no guardrails and rams his cock deed down his throat and holding it, not allowing air for breathing until the seconds before blackout would occur. It never does and it’s the most frantic face fucking ever seen as Straight boy is plopping the entirety of his body weight to get even deeper.
Then the rapid fire fucking that leads to loss of exact control and the erratic frenzy is the biggest turn on for the bottom boy and it’s rough and hard fuck and the explosion Is close. He warns, but no need. every drop he wants and the rapidness freezes as the top guy entire 18 year old body stiffens and his cock widens, making breathing more of a luxury because not a drop of oxygen can get through and his cock is hard and stiff with his magnificent body following that hard and stiff and plunging so deep down the bottom’s throat that it empties directly into his stomach and preventing the joy of feeling the pulsating of cum into his mouth onto his tongue and savoring its taste. Again, moments before air was needed, his cock still hard and not as stiff slides into the boys mouth and breathing returns to normal.

Excerpt from this story from the New York Times:
President Biden on Tuesday called denying the effects of climate change “really, really dumb” and said that extreme heat and other weather disasters fueled by rising global temperatures have cost billions of dollars and thousands of American lives.
“Ignoring climate change is deadly and dangerous and irresponsible,” Mr. Biden said. He warned that temperatures have already shattered records this summer, and are expected to climb, as he proposed new protections for workers exposed to dangerous heat on the job.
Mr. Biden spoke at the District of Columbia’s emergency operations center, where he and cabinet officials were briefed on extreme weather developments across the country. His remarks were some of the most forceful he’s given on climate change, and he used the moment to denounce Republican lawmakers who oppose his policies.
“How can you deny climate change for God’s sake? Mr. Biden said. “They must be living in a hole somewhere.”
“Anyone who willfully denies the impacts of climate change is condemning the American people to a dangerous future and either is really, really dumb or has some other motive,” he said.
The proposed regulation from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration comes as a heat wave settles over California this week and triple-digit heat is also expected to scorch Portland, Ore., over the July 4 weekend. That follows an early heat wave last month that had much of the country sweltering.
Mr. Biden noted that extreme heat is the deadliest weather-related hazard in the United States, responsible for more deaths than floods, hurricanes and tornadoes combined. Climate change, driven by the burning of oil, gas and coal, is causing heat waves to last longer. Last year, the hottest in recorded history, brought 2,300 heat-related fatalities in the United States, most likely an undercount because heat exacerbates other health conditions, while emergency room visits for heat illnesses surged.
The regulation, if implemented, would for the first time require employers to monitor workers and provide rest areas and water when the heat index reaches 80 degrees or higher. Employers would also be required to establish heat safety plans. The rule could apply to about 35 million Americans who work both indoors and outdoors.

Another Atmospheric River Hits British Columbia
About a month after a powerful atmospheric river brought abundant rain to coastal British Columbia, another storm drenched southern parts of the Canadian province and western Washington in the U.S.
The atmospheric river made landfall over British Columbia on October 18, 2024, and moved down the coast on October 19-20. Portions of southern Vancouver Island recorded up to 300 millimeters (12 inches) of rain between October 18 and 20, while the Vancouver metropolitan area on the mainland received up to 150 millimeters (6 inches). According to the Vancouver Sun, the rain overwhelmed the city’s storm drain system, leading to widespread flooding.
Toward the south, the storm also brought rain and wind to portions of western Washington. Up to 150 millimeters of rain was also measured on the Olympic Peninsula. Gusty winds toppled trees and contributed to 14,500 households in the Puget Sound region briefly losing power on October 19. NASA-led research has shown that atmospheric rivers are associated with the most damaging storms in the middle latitudes, especially with regard to the hazardous wind they produce.
A second pulse of water vapor moved over southwest British Columbia and northern Washington on October 20, when the VIIRS (Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite) on the NOAA-21 satellite acquired this image. In the image, an elongated stream of water vapor—the hallmark of atmospheric rivers—had reached the western coast of North America after crossing the Pacific Ocean. When atmospheric rivers encounter land, they often release that water vapor in the form of rain or snow.
According to the Center for Western Weather and Water Extremes at the University of California, San Diego, forecasters expected the atmospheric river to hit western Canada as a Category 3 or 4 event, the second- and third-highest tiers on the scale. The storm follows an unusually strong Category 5 atmospheric river that hit British Columbia in September 2024. Experts suspect that the September atmospheric river was among the most intense events to transit the northeast Pacific in a satellite-based record going back to 2000.

How to Identify Trailing Blackberry
Originally posted on my website at https://rebeccalexa.com/how-to-identify-trailing-blackberry/. Click here to learn more about the How to Identify article series.
Name: Trailing blackberry (Rubus ursinus), also known as California blackberry, Pacific blackberry, Pacific dewberry, and a number of other common names.
Range and typical habitat(s): West coast of North America from southern British Columbia to northern Baja California, east to the Cascade mountains, and scattered through the Rocky Mountains in Idaho, Washington, and Montana.
Distinguishing physical characteristics (size, colors, overall shapes, detail shapes): Summer is here, and that means blackberries are ripening on the vine! Here in the Pacific Northwest where I live we have multiple species, all featuring delectable, juicy berries, but only one is native. The trailing blackberry distinguishes itself through a slender, biennial vine, pale green to bluish-purple in color, with tiny thorns all along its length. (Be careful when handling this vine, as the thorns easily detach and become embedded in your skin!) Some vines may exceed six feet in length, and each plant may produce several of these from a central perennial root system.
The leaves of trailing blackberry generally have three leaflets, though one or five may occasionally be seen, and they are dark green above with a pale green to white underside. Each leaflet is oval in shape with a pointed tip and a deeply serrated edge that has larger serrations interspersed with groups of smaller, finer serrations, and generally will not reach more than about four inches in length. This species is deciduous, and loses its leaves over winter before growing new foliage in the spring.
First-year vines are not fertile; they will not produce flowers until their second year, after which they die. Like many other Rubus species, it has a flower with five white petals that rarely exceeds an inch in diameter, and the petals are particularly slender compared to others in the genus. The center is pale green to yellow with several dozen anthers on the flowers of male plants. Female plants, of course, are the only ones to bear small berries about 3/4″ or so long at the largest, which start out green, darken to red, and finally ripen at a deep purple to black. While smaller than commercially available blackberries, they are quite sweet and flavorful when ripe. Technically they are not true berries, but are instead composites of several tiny round drupelets each with its own seed, which is typical of Rubus fruit.
Trailing blackberry can grow quite quickly, and although it may clamber over other plants it generally does not out-compete them to the point of becoming a monoculture. It is also a quite hardy plant and can colonize disturbed ground with ease as long as there is plenty of sunlight. The vines can become a bit of a tripping hazard in places with high foot traffic, but are easily trimmed back without killing the entire plant. In addition to seeds, trailing blackberry can also grow colonies of clones wherever its vine touches the ground.
Other organisms it could be confused with and how to tell the difference:
In its native range, trailing blackberry is a rather unique little plant. It may occasionally be confused with the invasive Himalayan blackberry (Rubus armeniacus). However, the latter grows on large, thick canes up to thirty feet long that can grow tall and arch over, and which create massive thickets that choke out any other plant life. The leaves of Himalayan blackberry are also larger and rounder–up to eight inches long–and more typically have five palmately compound leaflets instead of three, though three leaflets may sometimes be seen. The flowers have rounder petals, and the berries are much larger, sometimes exceeding an inch in length.
Cutleaf or evergreen blackberry (Rubus laciniatus) is another invasive species found within trailing blackberry’s range. Like Himalayan, the cutleaf species also grows thick, long canes. It is mainly distinguished by its leaves, which have three leaflets that are deeply serrated/toothed and have a jagged appearance–hence the name “cutleaf.”
Black or whitebark raspberry (Rubus leucodermis) has berries which superficially look like those of trailing blackberry. However, once again the canes of this species are thicker and woodier than the trailing vines, and they have a distinctive white to pale purple glaucous coloration. The leaflets are larger than those of trailing blackberry, with first-year leaves having five pinnate leaflets, and second-year having three. The berries are larger and rounder, generally not exceeding 1/2″ in diameter. The overall appearance of the plant is of a taller, more upright shrub than a series of vines trailing over ground and other surfaces.
Anything else worth mentioning? Like other Rubus species, the berries of trailing blackberry are edible, and the leaves may be made into tea. If cultivating this species in your native plant garden, be aware it grows quite quickly, though it can be trained up a trellis with some effort.

Napa Valley Pollution
Napa Valley, California, is home to over 1,800 wineries, representing 0.4% of the world’s wine grape production. While it pales in comparison to the largest vineyard in the world at 105,000 hectares, Napa Valley still has 18,667 hectares involved in cultivation.
It produces about 49.7 million cases of wine annually and has an estimated 34 billion dollar impact on the U.S. economy.
So why is it at risk?
The Pollution
The vineyards and wineries of Napa Valley are facing a pollution problem.
The Clover Flat Landfill (CFL) opened in 1963 to accept various local waste. It still takes in many types of waste like propane tanks, couches, and ovens, with a fee for certain kinds. The CFL is reportedly now able to recycle 50% of what it takes in. Its website also states that it currently operates at net zero emissions, meaning it makes up for the carbon emissions that it produces. It does, in fact, capture the methane gas that it produces to recycle it into electricity.
Pollution is more than just carbon dioxide, though.
Irresponsibly reported contamination and hazards at the CFL have come to light in recent months. One example is the misreported impact of the 2020 Glass Fire in California. While management of the CFL (the Pestoni family, at the time) claimed minimal impact, surfaced emails reveal that the measures to restrict erosion, eliminate sedimentation release, and manage storm water attenuation were completely destroyed. The article detailing this and other allegations, including the referenced emails, is linked here.
The CFL is to the north of Napa Valley and near two tributaries that flow to Napa River. This landfill is the primary source of the pollution the valley is facing. Increasing amounts of evidence indicate that the CFL has polluted these waterways with toxins from waste.
These toxins include chemicals and metals, such as nitrates, chromium, arsenic, iron, and zinc.
The Effects
Chromium and arsenic are potently toxic on their own, but the other pollutants listed are also very harmful if high amounts are in contact with or consumed by humans.
While studies and officials report that the waterways around Napa Valley are considered polluted, little is reported about how this might affect wine production. Many vineyards and wineries in Napa Valley refused to comment on the situation.
Waters polluted with heavy metals and chemicals can cause food to become contaminated, but the specific nature of grape cultivation and its water demands make these impacts difficult to report on.
We do know that recreation has been significantly impacted. People who fish and canoe in the Napa River have expressed concerns, and the California Sportfishing Protection Alliance even sued the CFL in 2022 for violations of the Water Pollution Control Act. In 2023, the CFL agreed to implement new erosion control measures, test stormwater, and train employees to improve pollution control.
Landfill pollution affects life in the waterways, decreasing aquatic life presence and leading to unknown results of long-term stream pollution.
Investigations into the CFL’s continued practices are ongoing. Hopefully in time we will have more details for how pollution may have affected grape cultivation in Napa Valley.

hello beloved waru! do you have a favorite book? also, what is your favorite song at the moment?
Hi Sara 👋👋👋👋
One of my favourite books has to be Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin. What I love about this book is that it's not love at first sight, it's about having to know each other to fall in love. Some times I read it and I feel like is a master piece, but other times, when I'm to done with romance, I feel like is just an Okay book. (Don't get me wrong is just that I can't deal with romance being the sole focus sometimes).
Because I love this type of books where women take their own destiny and don't give a crap about position or money, but I also don't always love romance to be the centre of attention, Victoria Holt is one of my favourite.
I also love Just a Bit Wrong by Alessandra Hazard. It's the 4 book of an on going collection. Each book can be read alone, just be aware that other characters from the previous books can make a cameo. This one is about a raising football player (Tristan) that got injured and a physio is hired just for him. They just pushed the wrong buttons of each other, and lace with that there's the emotional baggage that Tristan carries about his biological dad and him having been abandoned after his mother's death. It's hurt with confort with a bit of Dom/sub and impact play. I just love it. (I love more from this collection, but when I want to cry I just read this one).
About my favourite song... Blind Channel's 5th album came out recently, and their concert is Barcelona is going to be soon, so I'm pretty obsess with it. I love some of the lyrics like:
From the rock bottom of my heart/ / Top of your lungs, say what you want // Fall in lovе or fall apart? from XOXO ft From Ashes to New
We don't belong here // We don't belong here, no // Everybody tried to warn ya // Now there's wolves in California // Taking over // We're taking over, now // Everybody tried warn ya // Now there's big bad wolves in California from Wolves in California
Let me introduce myself // I'm the last nail in the coffin' of your mental health // I see you standing on the edge // And I whisper in your ear to push you over it from Phobia, which also is a very post 2015 Rosquez song. I can see Marc as the phobia and Vale going through this.
But I think my favourite one is Die another day featuring RØRY. It's true that came out a bit ago, but the more I hear it, the more I love it. I love the piano, the back and forth between Joel and RØRY. I love the softness of this song in the middle of their album. It's just perfect. Also the line 'This world is gonna fuck you up' because it's so damn true.

part 1 part 2 part 3 part 4
Nancy used to love going to hospitals. In the same way she loved spelling tests and Sunday school, anywhere a grown-up might evaluate her on a dozen different metrics and not find Nancy Wheeler wanting in any of them, she loved hospitals. What a stupid thing, she thinks now, to have always expected everything to go well for her in a place people came to die.
Emergency rooms are loud, but Nancy finds herself wishing for the chaos of those first few minutes when they’re bundled into a waiting room and told that someone will let them know as soon as possible.
There had been a brief and terrifying burst of excitement when Steve, held together with adrenaline and gauze, twisted the wrong way and pulled his stomach back open. There’s a design flaw, Nancy notes, her hands overlapped with Robin’s pressed against Steve’s torso to try stay the blood, in the layout of the waiting room chairs. It’s difficult for the staff to get the gurney close. It takes too long. Steve gives them a thumbs up as he’s wheeled out, and Nancy files it away into the corner of her mind that takes problems, pieces them apart, and ruminates on them until she decides if there’s a story there or not.
“He’ll be alright.” Nancy says to Robin, whose hand is still in hers, to Dustin and Lucas in the chairs across from them, to herself.
“Eddie too.” Dustin says.
“And Max.” Lucas doesn’t look at her, but Nancy nods.
She echoes him. “And Max.”
Robin doesn’t let go of her. Nancy feels the blood cupped between their palms dry into a scab holding them together. Every few minutes, Robin squeezes her hand as if reminding her body that it is being touched, and Nancy feels the scrape of Steve between them. It’s a bio-hazard. She lifts her feet for the custodian who mops the floor beneath them half an hour into their vigil and flinches at the squeak of her trainers against fresh linoleum when he’s done.
The Sinclairs are the first to arrive. If Erica weren’t with him, Nancy is sure Lucas would pitch a fit about staying, but his arm has stayed wrapped around his sister’s shoulders. He deposits Erica into their father’s embrace, chuffs Dustin’s arm, and writes his home phone number on the back of a magazine subscription card falling out of a six-month old eWeek.
“You call me,” he hands Nancy the card. Both of their fingerprints stain the thick white paper, “the moment something happens, okay? The moment. I don’t care how late it gets.” Lucas’s father frowns behind him, but Nancy promises.
When she arrives fifteen minutes later, Mrs. Henderson folds Dustin into her arms without waiting for him to rise from his chair. Nancy watches him stiffen and melt in turn. Claudia Henderson has no apparent thought for anyone other than her darling boy and, “My gosh, what’s happened to you? We need to get you cleaned up,” brushes him up and out of the waiting room over Dustin’s protests.
Lucas has Dustin’s phone number, surely, or his walkie talkie if it isn’t lost somewhere in Upside Down. Getting Eddie out of there had kept them all too busy to take inventory.
Nancy follows the Hendersons by sight through the open door then the sound of Dustin’s placating down the hall until he’s been consumed by the low drone of hospital noise and she and Robin are alone.
Robin’s heels are up on the thin lip of waiting room chair, knees pressed to her chest. Nancy expected to field a thousand questions to slake the endless well of Robin’s runaway thoughts, but then, Robin hasn’t left her side. There are no secret answers Nancy might have found to give her, so Robin is quiet save for the occasional big breath, the sort that shakes her shoulders and usually precedes a sob but comes with a squeeze of her hand.
The poster on the opposite wall, visible now that teen heads are no longer blocking the way, is of Redwoods. Below the trees in block type, the words ‘Growing Together’ attempt to perk up the place. Max has probably seen Redwood trees on her way from California to Hawkins, Nancy imagines. She should ask her about them if it wouldn’t be too strange coming from her friend’s older sister. She wishes she’d gone with Mike now, to see them herself.
“Do you think it’s really over?” Nancy startles at the question. Robin doesn’t turn to look at her to ask it, still staring into the middle distance in front of them.
Nancy’s thoughts turn again to Max, to the last time they’d sat together in the wake of a disaster and the almost end of the world, the time before that, and, “No,” Nancy says. “No, I don’t expect so.”
At first, Nancy thinks the sound Robin makes really is a sob this time. She turns in her seat, ready to put a hand on her shoulder, tell her the old lie about everything being alright in the end despite the spiral they’ve been heading down since Mike stashed a girl in their basement, the fact that Nancy isn’t sure it’s ever going to be over for any of them whether Eleven shows up to close the portals for good or not, and sees Robin’s head tipped back, face scrunched as she tries and fails to keep from giggling.
It would be cute if it weren’t horrifically inappropriate. It’s still, Nancy steadies herself and glances around to make sure no one is paying them any attention, quite cute.
“Jesus H,” Robin wheezes. “You’d think at some point all the freaky mind powers would be enough, right? Like, is evil a gas, filling whatever space we put it in, or what? Maybe if we took the superpowers out of the equation things would actually calm down for a minute.”
“I don’t actually think El has her powers anymore, so we might just be screwed.” Nancy catches a laugh in her throat. She feels the prickle of Robin look at her, the tension in their clasped hands. Nancy meets Robin’s eyes for only a moment before Robin’s giggle turns into a guffaw and just as quickly descends into the sobs Nancy has been bracing for all along.
If Nancy could cry now, she doesn’t know if she would remember how to stop. Tears are, always have been, an indulgent all night affair, but Robin’s crying is silent. Her tears dry up quickly, but Nancy doesn’t let her go.
They sit together until a woman with a clipboard elbows through the double doors marked ‘Hospital Personnel Only,’ and asks for the Harrington family. A pang of guilt burrows into Nancy’s stomach; she hadn’t even thought to call them, but Robin is already standing. Robin lets go of her, Steve flaking to the linoleum between them, and sure, Nancy thinks. That makes sense.
