When Lily said to "name 50 villians" who are "sympathetic," that was too easy. But now that we've graduated to Lily's bullshit moving of the goal post . . . Well, being annoying is one of my special interests, so.
Naming 50 villians who, "have a point, successfully navigate still being a villian, and are well written."
(Extra challenge: trying not to repeat any of the ones Crim and Ant have already named. Sorry if I repeat one by accident.)
1. Frank, The Wasp Factory by Ian Banks
2. Brandy Alexander, Invisible Monsters by Chunk Palahniuk
3. AM, I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream by Halan Ellison
4. Willy Loman, Death of a Salesman
5. Shylock, The Merchant of Venace
6. Beloved, Beloved by Toni Morrison
7. The Cenobites, The Hell Bound Heart, Hellraiser (1987), Hellraiser 2, Hellraiser (2022)
8. Starro, The Suicide Squad
9. Can't name this character without spoilers for Invincible, but the character who ends up with their brain in a jar at the end, Invincible (comic)
10. Goff, Peacemaker
11. Rorschach, Watchman (comic)
12. Ozymandias, Watchman (comic)
13. The Comedian, Watchman (comic)
14. Can't name this character again because spoilers, but the last person Hughie fights, The Boys (comic)
15. Mr. Freeze, Batman (comic and animated series)
16. Christiane, Eyes Without a Face
17. Ryu, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance
18. Dong-jin, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance
19. Lee Woo-jin, Old Boy (2003)
20. Lee Geum-ja, Lady Vengance
21. Curtis Everett, Snowpiercer (film)
22. The Assassin, Mad God
23. "Su-yeon/Eun-joo", A Tale of Two Sisters
24. "Pyramid Head", Silent Hill 2
25. Alessa, Silent Hill 1
26. Claudia Wolf, Silent Hill 3
27. Lady Hideko, The Handmaiden
28. Jennifer, Jennifer's Body
29. Robert Neville, I Am Legend by Richard Matherson
30. The Machines, The Inevitable Conflict by Isaac Asimov
31. Master, Reason by Isaac Asimov
32. Hanna, Baby Teeth by Zoje Stage
33. The Artist, Mermaid in a Manhole
34. Red Death, The Masque of the Red Death by Edgar Allen Poe
35. Father Paul, Midnight Mass
36. Death, Fall of the House of Usher
37. Death, The Seventh Seal
38. Hell, No Exit
39. Winslow Leach, Phantom of the Paradise
40. May, May
41. Jean Jacket, Nope
42. Hayley, Hard Candy
43. Red, Us
44. Violet Hubbard, Penance by Eliza Clark
45. Charles Kinbote, Pale Fire by Vladimir Nobokov
46. You, House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski
47. Tess Clark, Haunted by Chunk Palahniuk
48. "Oba Yozo", No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai
49. Asami, Audition (Novel and film)
50. Arsriel, His Dark Material by Philip Pullman.
A few of these are malicious compliance-- but Lily made the rules, not me. I made sure to scatter them in the list, so, good luck to her picking them out considering she only watches cartoons, lol.

Summary of Ringer Dish - ‘Speak Now’ | Every Single Album: Taylor Swift
Hosted by Nora Princiotti and Nathan Hubbard
even though speak now sold double the copies of fearless, it had amazing reviews by rolling stone, but still was smaller than fearless and is not as huge because pop was growing and taylor made her 3rd country album just like her previous 2 album and even taylor knew that as she was inviting more pop people to her speak now world tour. it had long, meaningful songs but it doesn’t get its due because its dissonant with every thing that was released being different.
nora princiotti talks about it having 2 bookends. first one being the lyric “i just realized that every thing i have is someday gonna be gone” and it being a “oh shit its real” moment and the second one being “it was the end of the decade but start of an age” and the new age being red as it explores pop whereas speak now was not true sonic transition but thematic transition. hence, it gets lost in translation because its followed by red and was released after fearless which relates back to why it is underrated.
it was a very welcoming album as it went from taylor singing about being 15 and fairytales in fearless to moving into her own new apartment and having real relationships. also, its taylor’s last solo stand as an album as she is the sole songwriter and also a producer.
even though taylor doesn’t change the genre and doesn’t transition to pop, she is trying different style and you can hear the pop punk paramore vibes. this is evidence of her thirst to expand. she is pushing against walls but she doesn’t shatter them.
at the same time, the walls are pushing back as mean is the only to win grammys in the country category, back to december is big on country radio whereas the story of us, which is only on pop radio, doesn’t even make top 40 on the hot100 chart, and other singles do well but she is trapped in the country box by the radio people and her label even though she told rolling stone that genres are unnecessary walls and hints at expanding.
nathan hubbard shares about taylor inviting bob lefsetz(the critic who inspired mean) to come see her touring gear to prove that she doesn’t use autotune and then how he feels the song mean deeply because despite bob lefsetz and him being good, he wrote about nathan hubbard’s income and how its much more than it should be and that he is undeserving of it.
speak now was fair game to everyone. taylor writes about critics being unfair in mean but then is apologizing for her mistakes in back to december. most people when they’re young, they hold your tongue so taylor writing mean as a big “fuck you” is cathartic and inspiring. what also should be noted is that her vocals are upfront and dry and in your face and there are no background vocals by nathan chapman and then her ultimately singing “someday i’ll be singing this at the grammys and all you’re ever gonna be is mean” is huges, especially because taylor’s performace with stevie nicks at the grammys was criticized.
nathan hubbard talks about the guitar licks in dear john mirroring john mayer’s work and he says “YES YOU WERE TOO YOUNG!”. its very hard not to believe her despite john mayer saying that he is humiliated and its hard to go “no he’s right”. it should also be noted that taylor said that she loved john mayer and how he is inspiring in the rolling stone interview released on jan 5, 2010 and then in speak now’s dear john, she basically says that he is uninspiring. this song doesn’t only have a twist of words but it is the twist of the fucking life. its the first track 5 that really grabs nathan hubbard. also, paper doll being the best song written about taylor according to both of them.
according to nora princiotti, taylor was her own biggest collaborator and the biggest influencers were avril lavigne, hayley williams, and the  orchestra and cinematic stuff was inspired by taylor herself. nathan hubbard talks about mike meadows, paul sidoti and amos heller setting in as the foundation of her band on the tour and how she had the same number of shows but audience increased from 1.2 million to 1.6 million people and she earned $15 million more.
for nora princiotti, the story of us is a good vehicle for how the band sounds and is cousin of haunted but doesn’t feel as good vocally and has less strings etc. also, it was only promoted on pop radio as opposed to ours(deluxe song) being huge on country radio signaling a hard transition.
according to nathan hubbard, the biggest easter egg is the john mayer guitar licks despite it barely being an easter egg but its still very interesting and clever. for nora princiotti, it is “32 and still growing up now” and it shows remarkable forgiveness and also pity.
nathan hubbard would cut innocent as it didn’t cauterize the wound so they could just leave it. nora princiotti says that there’s a tremble in how taylor delivers haunted and its kind of camp despite it not being nora’s favourite, she’ll keep it and would rather cut speak now because it sounds like a soundtrack song and isn’t as interesting and characters are boring. they also point out taylor’s track 4′s being boring after track 3 bangers.
enchanted is iconic and her vocals are amazing and its funny how taylor never responds to the cover of enchanted by adam young. also, he also said “you are a true princess from a dreamy fairytale a modern cinderella” which is big D(disney) energy.
neither of them would change the title of the album. scott borshetta saying no to the title being enchanted was a right step. speak now is good title because its a confessional album and even though the song is not the song isn’t that good and could be swapped with ours. nathan hubbard says that used dear john as each song is dear john in a way but speak now is ultimately a good title.
the liner notes and interviews clear the air about who the songs are about. nathan hubbard points out that there is a thin line between communicating the origin story of these songs and unintentionally publishing her life and this is when the “who is it about” and press speculating and asking about her personal life begins.
they doubt she regrets the songs or the liner notes cause they are so special to the fans but maybe she feels regret or anger about everybody letting her talk so publicly, the snl monologue being a good example. also, maybe she regrets eagerly stepping into being a toy for people and dancing for them as she calls out the people in her life as it makes her vulnerable to the public. this is a parallel with the lyric “and my words shoot to kill when im mad, i have a lot of regrets about that”
nora princiotti found lots of interesting things on the internet. the 13 hour meet and greet turning into a 15 hours meet and greet, sparks fly. being renewed for fans, zero swear words(not even “hell or damn”), brad paisley and keith urban sitting between taylor and john mayer at the  cmas and taylor’s nashville apartment being crazily decorated. additionally, the rabbit with marching band costume and alice in wonderland them from the apartment goes into red tour, and the colour of the dress on the cover being changed to red for the deluxe version signaling the next album - RED.
taylor is turning into a business woman with elizabeth arden perfumes, exclusive stuff from her website to promote direct consumption by consumers and that parallels the promotional stuff on itunes. they point out the leak of mine, which is the lead single, and then being forced into releasing it 2 weeks early. taylor in this era tinkers with the strategy that digital stuff doesn’t undercut her business and that she does it in a way which is fan-friendly and embracing of the digital world.
today was a fairytale charted higher than any other single from this era. also, it was peak taylor lautner and its surprising that he is the taylor whose career got cut after him handing swift the moonman. “where is taylor lautner?”. the parallel between twilight series and the fifty shades(inspired by twilight) song - i don’t wanna live forever - and both of them being sexual awakening of women if quite funny.
last kiss is nathan hubbard’s favourite song off of this album. he points out how it sounds like christina perri’s a thousand years, which is featured in the twilight movies, and is definitely inspired by taylor and again, this is how taylor kills lautner’s career. nora princiotti talks aboyt the grey’s anatomy season 2 bomb episode and how shonda rhimes and taylor keep messing with her feeling because the subnarrative of the episode is that meredith grey can’t remember her last kiss with derek shepherd and it kind of could be inspired by taylor. nora princiotti’s favourite song is dear john and then long live, which is basically the better version of change and it sounds same as change for 3 mins and then the bridge makes it awesome.
nathan hubbard’s favourite lyric is “she thinks im psycho cause i like to rhyme her name with things” and nora princiotti’s favourite is “i lived in your chess game but you change the rules everyday” and then “you made a rebel of a careful man’s careful daughter” and then “people throw rocks at things that shine in life”.
speak now is better than fearless but lacks the group sing-along song and it feels like its more for the core diehard fans.
grade given to the album: A-
ps - i might have missed a thing here and there but this was basically the gist of the whole podcast

The Ledge #463: Songs About The Ramones
As I state at the beginning of the show, the initial idea for this theme came from the plethora of recent songs that mention The Ramones in the title, both individually and as a group. Add to that a few faves from the past, along with some great suggestions from social media, and I had a fantastic playlist to air tonight. And since the band was also known to write songs about their lives, there's even a set of Ramones covers of songs of that sort.
After listening, please go purchase those tracks you enjoy! These great artists deserve to be compensated for their hard work, and every purchase surely helps not only pay their bills but fund their next set of wonderful songs. You can find this show at almost any podcast site, including iTunes and Stitcher...or

Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard and Wife Hayley Reveal Second Baby on the Way
Tumblr media
Congratulations are in order for Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard and his wife Hayley who announced they are pregnant with their second child. While all of the music industry is in Los Angeles for the upcoming Grammy Awards, Tyler and Hayley thought that would be the best place to announce their impending arrival. The couple, while walking the carpet for Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party, revealed that Hayley is indeed expecting. To accentuate the announcement, Tyler got down on his knee and gently kissed his wife's stomach.

Photo by © Tammie Arroyo / AFF-USA.COM Tyler and Hayley were married in Idaho on July 1, 2015. The couple announced that they were having their first child, believing at first that they were having a boy and finding out it was in fact, a girl. Their daughter, Olivia Rose Hubbard, was born on December 23, 2017. “On cloud nine with our new little bundle of joy Olivia Rose!!, Hayley said about her new baby. "God couldn’t have brought us a more perfect gift this Christmas. What. a. miracle!! It hasn’t even been 24 hours and Tyler has been so fun to watch as a new Dad.” It continues to be an exciting weekend for Florida Georgia Line, who is nominated for best country duo/group performance for “Meant to Be,” their No. 1 hit with Bebe Rexha. Congratulations to the happy couple. Read the full article
