Atsumu gives his twin a 'what-the-fuck' look as hist win glared at him. Osamu walks toward Suna and asks him, "Why do you simp over an anime character when you can simp over the real one?"

Proof of Existence || Taichi Epilogue || 8 months later

This was it. He'd gotten it pretty late, of course, so... no fancy ceremony to attend. But that was fine, Taichi Hayasaka was not one to be fond of standing on a stage with his name called anyway. There was that whole month without wi-fi, and the months he needed to cool down afterwards before he could pick anything back up. He stood up from his seat in the principal's office and stepped out, greeted by one plucky Momo.

"Show me a grin, new grad!!" She pointed her phone camera at him.

Taichi instinctively cowered at the sight of a lens pointed at him, but loosened up after a few moments before holding up his high school diploma and flashed a weak smile. Momo snapped the pic and immediately got to work on sending it to him. "You look cute holding it," she noted as she hit send.

"You say that about everything, though..." He tugged on his hoodie, attempting to hide his face to an extent. Please.... he was embarrassed/

"It's true, though, my dear magic man!" Momo pulled back the edge of his hoodie and pecked his cheek before slipping the phone into her shorts pocket. "C'mon, ice cream before you have to go back to the manor, right? You don't stop by enough. You should learn the teleporty thing on your own." Momo tapped his shoulder before adjusting her ponytail.

"Hold on, I need to text someone first. Uh... then we can start walking." Old habits died hard. Even if he was no longer cursed by unseen forces, the idea of texting while walking freaked him out far too much for him to stop with that caution.

'Couldn't have done it without you, teach.'

He tacked the note onto the image as he sent the thing off to Akira's phone. Honestly the extra tutoring was going to help him out a lot if he intended to go ahead and continue to college. He missed prime exam season for those, so it'd have to be in the next round of those, huh. Damned if Akira wasn't surprisingly a good teacher, too.

Distance learning and magic learning at the same time was more than a little bit of a juggle, but hopefully it would be worth it. He put less effort into social interaction in general, and despite the occasional Maui rave or anime night with Erika and Rada, he wasn't too worried about the loss of a social life.

"By the way, I did uh... snag those floor tickets you wanted." He pulled TEMPUS tickets from his pocket. One, two, three of them. "Hope you don't mind that I invited Hibiki this time? I uh... know I didn't ask."

Momo pulled the tickets from his hand, placed them into her purse, and filled the space once occupied by paper with her own hand. "Yeah! It's fine, he's chill. I like the guy, even if we've only met a couple of times." Poor Hibiki was going to be third wheeling a bit, though. Oops.

Swinging their connected hands back and forth, they stepped down the hallways of their former high school. Destination: ice cream.

This chapter confirms that Hayasaka’s parents were both idiots who didn’t communicate properly.  At least they were idiots who loved each other… But why didn’t Lydia tell Hayasaka the proper truth before she passed away?

Honestly, Koichi was definitely being overprotective of his son.  Should’ve gotten him therapy.  Seriously, this guy’s solution to gossip shouldn’t be to fire his whole staff!!  WTF??

All the characters are just so DENSE about the loves in their lives, but in a way that’s more hilarious than aggravating.  At least, for me, it is

Imposter Usa is unsettling everyone but the seniors.  Although, it seems like she’s just messing around and having fun than actively antagonizing anyone

Canon divergence where those two girls develop crushes for Mafuyu because she looked really cool vaulting off the balcony and chasing the Imposter

The Imposter freaks Mafuyu out, so now she’s scared of Usa-Chan’s face entirely.  She always gets kinda freaked out when she doesn’t understand what’s going on.  Like how she got scared of Ayaben, not just because he beat her, but because she didn’t understand HOW he did it

Saeki’s the worst

Yui actually tries to be considerate of Mafuyu’s feelings, but she’s too freaked out to realize

Without his books, Kosaka has to resort to an intimidating/earnest “PLEASE” to get help.  It works though!  A very hilarious and effective student barricade around Yukioka was formed

Saeki was also the worst as a teenager, so Mafuyu just has to steel herself and smash through her fear

Imposter Usa hunting with her best friend!  And Ayaben??

Holding that many brooms must be awkward as hell.  He probably returned them to their proper places, too

vol.6 peeved me because Mafuyu clearly enjoyed doing girly things like hanging out with female classmates, taking purikura pics, eating sweets, wearing ribbons, etc—but wanting to be friends with Hayasaka again made her abandon all that.
