Since learning about what they could and couldn't eat, Cherie's newfound friend had made it a point to take them down to one of Spirale's most popular places to dine. The Startrail was littered with different food stalls and vendors, wonderful smells wafting to the cupid's nose and warming their soul.

"I'm not quite sure where we should even start.. is there something you would like to try?"

Right, this guy did have wings-- Lloyd almost didn't notice for a second between all the excitement going around, but..

"Huh? Well.." he thought on that for a second, holding his chin. "I mean, there's people in my world with wings too, but we don't have any shrimp chefs.. your world's gotta automatically be cooler then!"

"It's the best, right?! Gettin' me hungry just thinkin' about it, heheh!" he excitement dwindled down into a bit of a sigh, though; a look of longing taking hold of his features. "Man, I hope so-- a chef that good deserves to be recognized by everybody, y'know? And of course I do! I can barely get anybody to believe me, so I try as hard as I can to spread word about the shrimp who fries the rice when I can!"

Feeling a strong, sudden kinship with the man, Lloyd suddenly offered him a hand. "I'm Lloyd, by the way! What's your name?"

｢𓆄｣ "You think a guy with giant wings hasn't seen a shrimp chef before?" The question was rhetorical in nature, merely a playful quip to something that would otherwise seem obvious to anyone else. "I don't need to believe in him to know he's real. He's got a mean fried rice recipe." And some of the best food in Kyushu, but that was neither here nor there!

"Ahhh, now you're getting it, friend!" Took him long enough! "Maybe he'll grace the island with his presence. He's pretty top notch."

"Do you always argue so passionately about this with other people?"

It sounded so cool and it was something he was so familiar with. Damn, one: he can't even join the fighting in the underground that Dar'khol ran and two: he couldn't even join in helping fight or protect. Such a shame really.

Another day, another round around the city trying to explore every nook and cranny! Which is really just another excuse to stretch his legs, running wherever his feet will take him. Nothing but a blue streak of light as zips from one place to another, only stopping whenever something catches his eye.

Like someone with really cool wings flying overhead!

"WOAH-- is that Archangel? No, wait... hey! You up there! You look cool!" It's unfortunate that he can't fly unless going Super. He can, however, run up the side of a tall building to be a little more at eye-level. Even if relatively briefly. "You look like somethin' out of a comic book. Do you like comic books? I've read a lot of 'em."

🍧 SHAVED ICE - do they still have any objects from their childhood? what significance does it have to them? what would their reaction be if they lost it?

They once found an old key on the road while playing outside. It was made of iron with some nice decorations, but simple enough to be used for a closet or chest, there was nothing special about it. But they would make up impossible stories together with their siblings and in their young mind such a key was meant to open magical doors leading to other realms or maybe treasure rooms.

They kept it tied around their neck for many years, considering it one of their most precious possessions.

Now it's kept among their things, but they still have it, yes. It's a memento of better days able to bring a smile to their face.

But in the end Abigail is one to live in the moment, and if they were to lose the key, they wouldn't think much of it. After all it became such a treasure because somebody lost it to begin with. Maybe it's the key's fate to be lost again.

🙈 SEE-NO-EVIL - whats a side of your oc that they don't want to show other people?

Weakness. They don't want others to see they're tired, worried or perturbed. Half of it it's her people pleasing nature, the other came to be with becoming the Inquisitor and taking lessons about the Game from Josephine and Leliana. While the thing is a bit frivolous in Orlais, it's still very useful when you've got to lead a big organization against the world. Even when Solas dumped her, she remained calm and amiable to his dismay, still offering her support even when she was the victim.

She has her limits though, and when she's burned out or overwhelmed, she usually tries her best to hide in her quarters or by going on solo missions. Her favorite remedy is just to wander pretty places to gather materials and herbs, that's something very useful to leave behind the stress. Baking also helps.

The only ones she can't hide from are the spirits like Cole or Enfenim.

👑 CROWN - what does your oc want to be remembered as? why?

It's not something he cares much about as they had little sense of self for many years, as a demon he was the embodiment of the very fears and traumas which corrupted him. But as he regained his memories I guess he would like to be remembered as the thing he failed to be: a good protector. A good friend. Someone you can rely upon. As why, probably it would help him mend his spiritual wounds even more, gaining more control, memories and identity.

🌈 for Kali

🌈 RAINBOW - what advice would they give to their younger self?

Kali is someone who knows regrets are never useful and whenever you decide to take a move, you should accept any kind of result, for better or worse. Which means she hardly has much to suggest to a past version of herself like 'you should have done something in a different way' or 'fall in love before it's too late', after all such possible choices could have led her to a darker fate. Maybe she would remind herself that spending some quality time with her sister wouldn't have hurt, considering working for her wellbeing ended up not letting the two see each other for long periods of time.

📎 PAPERCLIP - a random fact.

📎Elinan: She's a master at braiding hair, in her clan everyone would always ask her, many offering their heads to let her try out new techniques. She tried to keep up the role during her time as Inquisitor but somehow she felt like people didn't approve of such a figure doing such mundane things openly. Solas being bald was a tragedy for her arts. Enfenim ending up having a lot of long and beautiful hair once he fully took the appearance of an elf JUST RIGHT AFTER she lost her left forearm didn't help. In the end she taught him all she knew. Same with little Rook. They both now are their successors as braid masters.

📎 Enfenim: Having floated while having five legs for most of his existence, he didn't expect he had to learn how to walk again once he decided to drop the extra three and move like a mortal. He was successful in the end, Elinan helped. People felt less scared of him. And wielding a sword felt more natural. It was a good choice

📎 Abigail: They love to point out as a joke that their Mohawk hairstyle is a way to not forget their surname is in fact Hawke.

📎 Kali: She's very good at baking cookies. That's secretly how she won Sten over. They're also real helpful to raise the Wardens's morale.

It must look rather unbecoming of him, scowling at the vibrant journal that seemed to have been enchanted to sing- which perhaps would be charming to anyone who wasn't Malchior, last of the great Fire Drakes of the northern mountains, chiefest and greatest of calamities- and maybe if he had a way to break the enchantment on it, he'd feel less annoyed. He'd considered throwing it into the ocean, but ... it had been given to him when he'd found himself in such a daze ... when he'd been brought through a city full of light to an apartment ... of course he knew what that was, and certainly hadn't asked the odd guide who had been so kind as to drive him there. Of course he knew what a car was- he didn't ask about that either! That would be rather foolish if he didn't know- but he certainly did, and he was most certainly not suffering in the way of a man who had been thrown so wildly far from his own era! By his account, everything was just fine, thank you very much!

He wasn't very convincing in that regard, and deep down he knew it. But if nothing else, he had always been rather skilled at pretending, and why would it be any different now?

It's different because he's defenseless and he knows he's being watched. Not because he sees anyone directly in front of him, but because he's a dragon, and dragons were always aware of their surroundings. In order to protect their treasures from thieves, or to detect the presence of those who would wish to take their heads back to kings and queens in exchange for glory- ❝ I know you're there. Are you simply content to continue watching, or will you show yourself? ❞

          if pressed, danny wasn’t sure he could tell someone what he dreamed about on a nightly basis. his days were so filled with chaos, attending high school, fighting ghosts, juggling his social life with sam and tucker and keeping ahead of his parent’s ghost hunting, that he didn’t spend much of his time sleeping anyway. so what he actually dreamt of when he got the chance to? well, that hadn’t seemed to matter as much. at least not since he’d beaten nocturne and his sleepwalkers and driven them out of amity park. so it was a surprise even to danny when green unfurled around him, ectoplasm seeping into the atmosphere and swirling across his vision until danny found himself in a perfect replica of the ghost zone.

     well. he hadn’t expected that to happen. nor did he expect to be met with the fact that he’d accidentally dragged someone else into this dream ghost zone. but a turn of his head was all it took to reveal the winged man beside him, and danny couldn’t help the grimace that twisted his mouth at the realization.

     ❝ Heck. You’re not, like, a ghost or anything by chance, are you? Cause let me tell you, it would make it much easier on me if you were. ❞

I am going to share with you (some) examples we can find regarding the existence of shifting throughout the ages, simply to show that it has always been a concept that has always existed.

― #01:         The Theory of Ideas - Plato:   The world we live in is only an imperfect copy of another more perfect and eternal world: the world of Ideas or Forms; everything we see and touch is only an imperfect version of its perfect Idea or Form, which exists on another plane. Our world is changeable and deceptive, while the world of Ideas is immutable and true - In both cases (this and shifting), there is an idea that our everyday perception is not the only way to understand what is ‘real’.

― #02:         Dualism - Descartes:   Best known for his method of doubt, where he questioned everything he couldn't be absolutely certain of — one of his biggest contributions was mind-body dualism, which argued that the mind (thinking, non-physical) and the body (material, physical) are separate substances. He believed that while the body operated like a machine following physical laws, the mind was something different—immaterial and not bound by space or time.

― #03:         Buddhism - Anicca & Anatta:    These 2 principles explain that: 1) everything is constantly changing, including the self, time, and the material world. There is no static "reality"—what we perceive is always shifting. And 2) the self is an illusion—a construct created by memories and thoughts.

― #04:         Modal Realism - David K Lewis:   American philosopher from the last half of the 20th century; his theory explains how all logically possible worlds are as real as our world (the real or actual world).  Every decision, every event, every possibility exists somewhere in a parallel reality. These worlds are not just hypothetical or imaginary; they exist in the same way our universe does, just in separate dimensions.

― #05:         Time traveler Party - Stephen Hawking:   He experimented to test whether time traveling (aka, shifting) to the past was possible. He hosted this 'traveler's party' on June 28, 2009 — but he only sent out the invitations after the event had already happened. The idea was that if time travel were real, someone from the future would see the invitation and travel back in time to attend.

― #06:         Syntergic Theory - Jacobo Grinberg:    If you've been in the shifting community for some time now, you already know him: a neuroscientist and psychologist known for researching on consciousness, the brain, and mystical experiences. His theory suggested that the brain doesn’t just perceive reality, but actively constructs it by interacting with a universal holographic energy field (which contained all information, and mystical experiences like telepathy could be explained by tuning into different parts of it). Mysteriously, he disappeared in 1994, after his theory gained popularity.

The paper ball hitting her head finally breaks through her fog, and Lucia looks up in a flinched movement to Yuri. Oh... he had been trying to get her attention for a bit now, hadn't he?

She offers a small, though weak, smile as she chuckles, the sound only sounding slightly off. "M-my apologies, Yuri. I'm... not quite myself today, my mind is elsewhere." She shifts the pages in her hand, bumping them against the desk to straighten the stack, before she places them down and turns her full attention to Yuri.

"I'm sorry I didn't notice you attempting to speak with me. Did... may I help you with something?"
