Making a new ask bc the other one (once again) turned into a monster <3
Without any pause or thought Rabbit responds with “No. Everyone can change, can get better.” insisting before tilting his head back at Wight, rabbit ears slightly flopping to the side with the action “Do you? Since your a vigilante and such.” Rabbit just had to not think about the relief he feels knowing Overlord isn’t anywhere where he can hurt people, hurt Rabbit again, Ashe didn’t mean to, they aren’t a bad person.
“Cool! I don’t think Alan ever got brought up when I was talking to Smokescreen.” Though their conversation got tense really quickly so it made sense- it was hard to get back to regular silly conversations with the knowledge that the person your talking to works for the person who turned your whole world upside down.
“Makes sense there isn’t much good to get out of from being a villain, if only others would figure that out too!” Rabbit had tried to reason with some of the villains with that point! But not even Le Frog would take his deal… though now of days they aren’t going against villains anymore, the chaos demons being their highest priority to deal with.
(Bc asks don’t have tags for me to chatter in: I want Rabbit to figure that out too but he’s too oblivious 😭)
"An honorable stance, I suppose." How did Wight even answer that? Would it tip Rabbit off if he was honest? ...did he really care? "I think... in the end, people choose their own fate. If they're doing something that runs the risk of death. And they end up dead, that's their own fault." You get yourself out of the situations you put yourself in.
"No, I don't suppose he would have. You wouldn't have enjoyed the conversation, trust me."
Wight smiled. "Not at all. It's hard to really do any sort of powered work without ending up someone's pawn." Opposing forces who have so little care for the lives of the few, throwing brute after brute at eachother. Anything for the people, right? And the people enjoy a good show.

Rabbit slightly frowns at that, “But that doesn’t mean they should die, or people around them who can help them should let them die.” If what Wight was saying is true, then Rabbit should be dead. He knows he should, but there were people who thought they could save him and did, even if they probably didn’t know the full story, and now Rabbit has a second chance to help people too. It didn’t matter that they didn’t ask, or that Rabbits heart sometimes hurts when he is not active enough or pushes his limits…
“Mmm I don’t know about that, with villain work yeah! It’s like that! But I don’t think the heroes are using each other and us as pawns.” They were just trying to save as many people as they could! And they believed the Prime Defenders could take it… and did… even though it meant loosing Ashe. But they were going to get him back!!! It wasn’t over.
