Author’s Note

The chapters that are titled are still subject to change, depending on how the book goes and if I want to split a certain chapter into 2 because it’s too long. There are I believe a minimum of 3k words per chapter and depending on how far I want this book to go it could end up being more than 50 chapters.

I do have a small child, as well as dealing with the death of an immediate family member, so currently writing is paused until at least the day after thanksgiving.

This book will hopefully be fully published by March 15th 2025, I will be updating this post with new chapter titles as I go so the progress can be shown, I do edit and proof read as I go but I will be doing a final edit and proof read the day or two before publication.

I started this book a few months after I finished bleeding heart and I’m trying to make this an all in one book rather than two or more. As there are 2 more books in the Fallen Forged Forever series bleeding heart is just book one.

Jenifer chewed her lip more, before answering, "Pistachio Matt said he thought he saw you on the news, something to do with that terrible situation in Holland, but Orange Matt said he was wrong, because you would have said something if you were involved, and no one wants to blo-ssoming ask you cuz they're a bunch of flowering cowards, and now you turn up on my doorstep and you're hurt and I am tired of not knowing anything." Aderyn's gaze slid to the crockpot. "We're worried about you."

In the first draft, Aderyn was very much a lone wolf, which may have been influenced by me writing it during the pandemic. But I realised while that might suit her drifter lifestyle, it doesn't suit her character which is garrulous and extroverted.

So I decided that she must have a broad network of friends all over the country, and some of them must know each other and keep tabs on her and each other with an instant messaging service. And if she has these friends, they're going to worry when she drops off the radar, with no notice, for over a week.

Aderyn starts off as a happy-go-lucky character. She knows the world can be a dark place, but is the sort of person who combats that by dragging the light in with her. She's also fiercely independent, oftentimes to her detriment. As her story goes on, her personality shifts, becoming darker and more jaded by the intense situation she's found herself in. Conversely, she begins to learn that taking a helping hand from the right people won't impact her freedom as much as she fears. With the ending of the intense situation and away from the cause of it, she turns back into the person she was; and is perhaps the stronger for it.

Newt: In the Embers of Light, I See my Love for You -Set at the Safe Haven, two people hopelessly infatuated with each other carry a conversation about memories and the act of starting over again. Scorched Dissonance (Chapter 1, an AO3 series) -"Y/N. Group B. Subject B3. 'The Abandoned'." is left behind with Aris in the complex, their supposed "rescuers", put them in. Later, they find a group in a situation similar to their own, Group A. Together they must undergo "Phase Two" of the trials. Through it all, Y/N finds herself getting increasingly closer to a certain boy in Group A, Newt. Devotion rises and tension follows. With the outside world in shambles, can one still find warmth?

So The Legend of Spyro Trilogy has been on my mind a lot lately and it also just so happened to have been the 25th Anniversary of the Spyro Series. I don't plan on making a fanfic but I had ideas for a story that takes place after Dawn of the Dragon.

Basic premise of the story: The War with Malefor and his Dark army is finally over and Dragons who have been surviving in hidden Haven cities all around the world are starting to return to Warfang the Dragon Capital. Spyro and Cynder are finally free to be young dragons for the first time in their lives, but they are not entirely sure how to be normal young dragons, they are both basically child soldiers, Spyro has the instant notoriety of being the legendary chosen one Purple Dragon, and while Cynder helped defeat Malefor not every dragon is going to forgive her from her time being The Dark Master's Monster. These kids need a break. I am tired of seeing people making Ember and Cynder fight over Spyro, it's stupid. So here Ember is baby. She's like 5-6 years old and loves both Spyro and Cynder, and also ships them kinda like Pearl from Ace Attorney Flame is also a child, probably 7-8 years old and wants to be Spyro's sidekick. The Guardians are too old for their jobs now so they need to train up a new generation. I'm not sure if it's weird wierd, but it is a bit of lore from The Ruby Falls that never really comes up anywhere in the series.

The Ruby Key used to open the Septim vault, while an heirloom trinket passed down through the generations from Alessia, the progenitor of their line, didn't start out life as a Key. Uriel had it altered in the early 90s when he refurbished the Septim Vault to have better security measures. One of those measures was to add a laser detection system. It was supposed to be a hand scanner, but the tech wasn't quite there at the time. Instead he had the glass paperweight modified with internal laser etching which the scanner could pick up far better than the internals of one's hand.

A sideways idea I had which I played with in Self-Indulgent AU was that the engraved design mirrors the internal structure in Aderyn's left hand. This isn't canon to the main AU, because there's no Oneiromancy in that. But in the Self-Indulgent AU (which, as the name suggests, is me fucking around and doing whatever), the design for the Ruby Key came to Uriel in a dream, and he believing in the occult, added it to the paperweight. This adds a new twist on his words "the future is in your hands" -- because he's talking about Aderyn's litteral, actual hands being the key to the future, rather than the metaphor that is assumed. I had wanted to add something to the end of SI AU where she deliberately fucks up her hand to keep the Vault locked forever, but her hands are her life and even I'm not that sadistic.

Dying Embers AU

Firefighters have a series of responsibilities; among those are having long hours, answering distress calls, putting out fires (as they should be), etc. However, one of these responsibilities can slip their minds on occasion.

Because of their long hours and paramedic training, firefighters are one of the first lines of defense in multiple ways. Some fire stations house what's called a Safe Haven Baby Box, an anonymous drop off crate in which parents can surrender their babies if they don't have the means to care for them.

One morning, however, Firefighter Characters A, B, C, D, & E wake up to the sound of rustling from the direction of the baby box. Upon further investigation they find four infants in the safe haven -- in retrospect, they totally understand that the parents who surrendered them likely did so because of the raging blizzard outside, but the firefighters themselves can't leave for the same reason, nor can they transfer the babies to the proper channels until the snow lets up.

Without any other option, Characters A-E must find a way to care for the four infants for the next week while attending to their regular duties. That and, of course, attempting to keep the babies warm while not resorting to the obvious wrong choice (lighting a fire).

1) Describe one creative WIP project you’re planning to work on over the summer

I'm planning on continuing to split up a lot of my original drafts of Fangthane's Folly, The Trouble with Meredith and The Wizard's Tale into multiple stories so they can be added to the relevant series. I also want to create a proper playlist for both Fangthane's Folly and The Trouble with Meredith at some point (The Wizard's Tale already has one, but more can and will be added to it).

2) Recommend a book

I've started re-reading Sabriel by Garth Nix recently. Ok, so it's a ya novel, but it still hold a special place in my heart and I love the whole series. It's one I will continuously recommend to people because the worldbuilding and magic system in it is top notch.

3) Recommend a fic

From my own writing I'll be more than happy to recommend the 'The Trouble with Meredith' series. It's made up of short stories so it's the easiest one to get into.

For other's writing: I'll go ahead and recommend @druidx's Haven's Ember series because the character writing in it is absolutely wonderful. Really, you should just check out all her stuff, but I maaaay be slightly biased.

4) Recommend music!

I absolutely must recommend Find Me by the Aviators. It's my go to piece of music for when I need something low key inspirational to listen to while mulling over plot threads and playing solitaire.

5) Share one piece of advice!

Get ye outside and into nature at some point over the summer. The best time to go, in my opinion, is around dusk if possible because that's when any wildlife that's around tends to come out. Just seeing some trees and/or grass will help immensely, I promise.
