Welcome to the HOT AND VINTAGE MOVIE STARS tournament! We are currently on a break between tournaments, having just finished the Hot & Vintage Movie Man Tournament last week. The Hot & Vintage Movie Women Tournament starts next week on February 29th (Leap Year Day) MARCH 2ND. The submission form for the ladies is now closed.

All polls—including ongoing polls, previous rounds, old tournaments, the various shadow brackets, and fun mini polls—can be found in the #hotvintagepoll tag. Every poll in the Hot & Vintage Women Tournament will be tagged with the hot woman in it if you need to search for a hot woman in particular. There have been around 400+ submissions, so Round 1 will probably be posted over the course of a few days.

“I have propaganda for the hot women!” Great! Please don't send or tag me in any hot women propaganda until the poll including that hot lady is posted.

"....but you're posting gifsets of hot ladies?" Yes. As a special treat to myself I get to post a little additional propaganda of my own between tournaments. (Once the tournament begins I am sworn to neutrality and only post the propaganda sent to me.) The gifsets I reblog are not representative of my own views—ie I reblog both my secret favorites and other hot ladies who were submitted numerous times—and are intended just to get us in the Hot Lady spirit™.

“How do I send in hot women propaganda once the tournament starts?” Send me an ask, or reblog the poll and add your propaganda to it. I don’t boost all the propaganda I see or receive, but I try to boost the best of the best.

If you’re submitting propaganda for your hot lady, I don’t accept propaganda that’s from beyond the end of this tournament’s era (ie don’t send me pics of them from after 1970). I also don’t accept them acting in TV shows unless it’s clearly a cameo where they’re playing themselves (ie, no I Love Lucy or Catwoman appearances). I'm more likely to post your propaganda if it's not extremely long.

I don’t post or boost negative propaganda about any hot woman. If you really hate that a certain hot woman is winning, send me positive propaganda for their hot opponent. If you think a hot woman shouldn’t even be included in the tournaments because of scummy things she did in her lifetime, please read my take on it here.

Toshiro Mifune was crowned winner and every other nominated hot man was sent to the shadow realm. "I'm catching up on the brackets now! How do I find out more about the Hot Men tournament?" You can do a tag search for a specific hot man if you want to see if he was included and all his propaganda, or you can just go into the #hotvintagepoll tag in my archive and dig through the old posts to see everything. I've turned most of the rounds into featured tags in the archive to make it easy to follow the tournament (#round 1, #round 2, etc).

If I see repetitive, trolling, and/or bigoted remarks in the comments, I may block you from this bracket. If you want to point out a hot woman’s flaws or misdemeanors, that’s fine, but if I see consistent bad-faith trolling, you will be blocked.

Voting on all the HOTTEST Jane Austen Gentlemen and Rakes from all the many TV and Film Jane Austen Adaptations ended earlier this year and after nearly two months of voting we have our Winner! Thank you everyone for taking part and all your propaganda now send me some for the old men!

My aim is to start late September/early October baring any disasters - the Jane Austen Men Poll lasted about two months in the end (and I think the women may end up longer) so I thought it would be nice to bookend the year! “Who was included in the original tournament ?” We started with 64 opponents readied their duelling pistols to defend their own hotness! I included men from Pride and Prejudice 1940/1995/2005, Sense and Sensibility 1971/1995/2008, Emma 1996/1996/2009/2020, Northanger Abbey 2007, Persuasion 1995/2007/2022 and Mansfield Park 1983/ 1999/2007 as well as a couple from Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, one from Sanditon and one from Love and Friendship/Lady Susan. Most are the main hero/anti-heroes but there are a few others scattered in too.

Have you included Spin Offs ?”  In the Silver Foxes Poll - Yes! However the only strictly none Jane Austen adaptation in the original poll were from Pride and Prejudice and Zombies because it is set in the correct time period, the characters are basically the same in terms of personality and I thought the casting was great! In terms of Sandition, Sidney Parker is the only man I have entered as he is mentioned in the book as well as the TV so sadly as much as I love the other Sanditon Men they aren't included!

"How have you paired up the men ?" I did start to try and vaguely seed the men but I will be honest I did get a bit slap dash towards the end which means a couple of the match-ups are maybe a bit too even but fun I hope!

Gentlepersons who love elves, I need your help with seeding this tournament in an appropriate manner! That's right, some of our 18 Daddies only have one nomination to their names (for shame). In order to determine placements in the bracket, I'll run a poll to determine the wide appeal of these Daddies (gender neutral)!

Round 1 overview

Round 1 will commence with the first few polls going up within the next hour or so. Here are my plans on how round 1 will be posted and how we'll accept additional propaganda.

Each round 1 poll will be tagged with #tv ladies 1 as well as the actresses in that poll. I will title the last poll in this round as Last Poll in Round 1.

There are 130 ladies in round 1 with 64 polls total. There will be two 3-way polls this round.

Polls will be posted in batches of roughly 10 throughout the week with the final 4 being posted this Sunday. All polls will last 1 week.

If you have tumblr posts featuring your hot tv lady and want it reblogged as additional propaganda please feel free to send an ask with a link to it!

We won't take additional propaganda to add to round 2 until all the polls are posted. I'll make a post about how to submit additional propaganda to be added to your fav's poll if they make it into round 2 after all polls for round 1 have been posted.

I do post and reblog nsfw, though not exclusively, and a lot of my fics are E rated, so follow at your own risk. Viewer discretion is advised and all that but it is up to you to make good decisions. If you don't wanna see nsfw stuff please block me. I do try to tag everything i post/reblog if it's nsfw.

We're also a system so sometimes you'll see other people post other than 'Mon' name themselves in the tags of things. So if you see that, that's what's going on lol

Current ongoing large project/s:

Currently I have only one big project going, a series of fics called Sorry, It's Locked. (As a warning, the series is rated E as most of the fics in it have a fair amount of smut.) S,IL follows Jay's unhealthy past relationship with Alex, as well as his new (healthier) relationship with Tim. It has plenty of angst, smut and a good bit of fluff.

All my posts about this series (which is probably most of them lol) are tagged with #mh sorry its locked. General postcanon stuff (including an 'everyone lives' au of S,IL) should be under the tag #pretty girl propaganda au, because it's mostly propaganda for why Jay should live and transition into the woman she was always meant to be (Lark, my beloved), as well as usually including Birdie, Tim and Jay's daughter who I'm propagandising you all to love as much as me.

I have a few playlists of music that goes alongside different fics in the series. I'm always open for suggestions of songs to add to my Sorry It's Locked playlists so feel free to send me asks if you feel like it.

If the poll is up for less than half the time, I'll remove it and redo the poll with another picture. If it's over half the time, I'll make sure to use another picture for the next round.

Please stay respectful towards ships you don't like! You can say you don't like a ship, but if I see actual hate towards people who do ship that certain ship, I'll block you on sight. I don't care if you think a ship is gross or immoral for whatever reason. You need to remember that these are fictional characters and shipping them in any way won't do harm to anybody. Fiction exists so that people can explore fantasies they would never want to explore in real life. You don't have to agree, but let them be. If you dislike the ship, you vote for the other option and move on. If you don't agree with this, you are free to unfollow.

This is a silly tournament that doesn't require much introduction. You will be prompted to vote for your favourite alphabet voicebank from Dreamtonics!

I truly cannot be arsed to create a bigger bracket template than the one I already have, so please trust that I will be using the International store as a reference and adding Yi Xi to the mix (*￣3￣)╭

The tournament starts on Friday, May 24th at 7:00PM CET.

Hi, I added propaganda for Edward G Robinson and THEN read the rules, totally my bad, but one video I posted is from pre 1970 and one is from post. Should I just delete the first addition I added, repost with just the 60s video, and tag you again? Not sure how strict the rules are, the second video is from 1973.

My rules for propaganda (which I'll add to the FAQ) are:

It must be from a movie. If you have to show me a television appearance, it must be them being themselves, not a TV episode where they play a character. (for example, Burgess Meredith making a cameo as himself on a TV program would be allowed, but an in-character performance as the Penguin would not be.)

It must be from before 1970. I have that cutoff date because that's a generous estimate for the end of the Classic Hollywood era. After that you're in New Hollywood territory, which these polls don't cover.

For this tournament, propaganda that is scrungly-focused is encouraged. A standard studio portrait of the actor looking glamorous is not very convincing and won't be boosted.

If you want to submit a video, it has to not be long. I watch every video I receive in full so I can tag for content warnings. If you need to send me a full movie that has your scrungly in it—which sometimes you have to, if they're a niche character actor with no other existing short clips on YouTube—please let me know a timestamp of a few minutes to watch. I will only watch and put content warnings for the small timestamped interval.

If you want to submit photos, please don't send me asks with more than 4 pics. I want to be respectful of everyone's dashes and not make huge posts.

To submit propaganda, either (1) send me an ask, (2) reblog the original poll post with your propaganda, or (3) tag me in it. If you want me to see another person's post relating to a scrungle, like a gifset, please tag me in it like this -> @hotvintagepoll

I do make rare exceptions on these rules, but any propaganda that breaks the movie/1970 rules has to ABSOLUTELY KNOCK MY SOCKS OFF. I haven't looked at your propaganda yet—I won't look at any until all the poll posts are up—but if you want to be safe, remove the 1973 video.

Rules for the Tournament

Here is a link to the spreadsheet showing each character who has been submitted, how many times, and whether or not they were accepted (Only a few were not accepted).

Submissions opened July 26 and closed on August 2.

This will be a 32, single-elimination tournament poll.

All characters who were accepted into the tournament have to be Red Riding Hood, pay homage to Red Riding Hood, or be a character playing the role of Red Riding Hood.

Just having a red hood does not make a character Red Riding Hood, just like a character with long hair does not make them Rapunzel.

Every character accepted who received more than one submission automatically made it to Round 1.

Every character accepted had been submitted only once had to pass through a preliminary round to make it through to Round 1. There were 10 preliminary polls.

Each poll, for the whole tournament, will last a week.

If there is a tie at any point, I will flip a coin to see which will advance.

There will be one exception: If there is one tie in the semi-finals, then both will move on to the finals for a 3-way-poll instead of a 2-way finals. However if both semi-finals tie, then there will be a do over. Maybe I'll flip the polls so if a went against b and c against d, then a will go against d and b against c. Idk it's probably not gonna happen anyway.

User propaganda was submitted when submissions were open & additional propaganda is always welcome! I will be posting any propaganda that has been added in reblogs of polls (NOT in the tags!) and, should the person you supported wins, I will add that propaganda under the cut in their next poll with a link to your post. I will also be accepting propaganda through the ask box! I'll post them with a link to the poll you are referring to as well as edit the poll to include your propaganda (with a link back to the poll, of course).

Anti propaganda will be accepted through the ask box only. I will not be reblogging any anti propaganda. Feel free to write it for yourself and your followers, I just don't want to post it to the blog. If you send anti propaganda through the ask, PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL and DO NOT BASH ANYONE OR ANY SHOW. I reserve the right not to post anything I think is bullying or in bad faith. Also your anti propaganda is more likely to be posted if it makes me laugh.

My own opinions I will try not to share until a poll is over, but I might share beforehand if it's funny.
