PHOTOSHOOT: MARINA FOR LADYGUNN
Marina Diamandis appeared inside LADYGUNN'S 11th issue titled "The Discovery" issue back in 2015.
She was photographed by Spencer Kohn, styled by Courtney Raniszewski Killen, coiffed by Miki Kaneko and beat by Eric Vosburg.
For look no. 1 Marina struts her poses in a full set by NYC-based label Haute Hippie!
She opted for their navy-colored silk vest with draped geometric front, and the matching high-waisted joggers with zipper detail on the ankles.
The look was completed with a pair of black patterned pointed-toe pumps from Gwen Stefani's fashion label L.A.M.B.
The second look displays a dreamy portrait of Marina wearing a pair of Lady Grey Jewelry gold-tone Cheval hoop earrings and this IOSSELLIANI multicolor marquise-cut crystal geometric flower brass necklace with navettes ($330.00 - sold out).

What about any fluff hc's you may have for Euronymous, Gabriel or Kappa it's your choice!
Love your writing! <3
Hello, anonnie! Thank you so much for your request 🖤🌸
I kinda more or less dragged my ass from the last pits of creative burnout hell for this but for the time being, I felt it <3
🌼Fluffy and soft gn!Reader x Kappa HCs, here we go! 🌼
Tagging the horde (gosh, I miss y'all!!):
@crypticsewerslut @quicksilversg1rl @cc-luvr @icarus-star @milaeth @roryculkinsgf @spookyorchid @arch1viste @whoareyoi @angelsanarchy @blueberrypancakesworld @rocketqueen-world @lifelessvessel @doddernix @svgarcaine @amayalul @basementgrl222 @kristennero-wallacewellsver @iiheartsai @fan-goddess @shady-the-simp
🌼 Kappa would absolutely love to cook for you! Anything from a simple mashed taters with sausages to a full 5 course meal. Pretty much the best van life haute cuisine he could come up with, anything and everything to paint a big, wide smile on your face.
🌼 I just know for a fact that Kappa would be a slave to watching you hang up the laundry outside of the van. With your linen blouse ever so slightly riding up your stomach, showing off some soft tan lines from the plenty of days spent at the beach. He'd be so grateful for you doing the chores, plus absolutely enthralled at the sight of your body in the warm Californian sun.
🌼 Personally, I like to think that Kappa and you would take time out of every evening to listen to your favourite records. Whenever you pass a new town, each of you buys a new vinyl at the local record store to show to each other, to talk about to artist and to have a banter about the lyrics!
🌼 "I'm sorry to report that's immaterial, sugar!" Kappa would murmur to you, with his arms tightly wrapped around your waist after you uttered a something something about feeling insecure about your body. He'd simply sweet-talk your insecurities out of you.
🌼 Uhm...showering alone? Not on Kappa’s watch! 🤨 He'd be squeezing his bum into the bathroom right after you, insisting to lather you in soap just to wash it off with soft and tender hands a little later.
🌼 Immediately after that hot and soothing shower, he'd tuck you right into bed, brew you a nice, fresh cup of camomile tea to sip on whilst you flick through your current, rather addictive page-turner from the gas station the two of you passed about 160 miles ago. It might not be his jam at all, but as long as it has you smiling and cackling at the end of the day it's fine with him.
🌼 Speaking of sleep, Kappa would hold and cuddle you tight all night long. He'd make sure you fall asleep comfortably, granting that'd you wake up well rested for another day on the road to wherever I'd take you!
---
Not to toot my own horn, but if you like the vibe of this, you may enjoy my hippie!Kappa playlist 🖤🌸🖤🌸

Understanding the Types of Fashion | Trends and Styles
Fashion is an ever-evolving domain that reflects cultural, social, and historical contexts. It encapsulates a broad spectrum of styles and trends that vary across regions and eras. From haute couture to streetwear, the diversity in fashion styles showcases creativity, individuality, and the human penchant for self-expression. In this blog, we will delve into various types of fashion, exploring their origins, characteristics, and influences.
Haute Couture
Haute couture, translating to "high sewing" or "high dressmaking," is the epitome of luxury fashion. Originating from Paris, it refers to the creation of exclusive, custom-fitted clothing made from the finest materials and with meticulous attention to detail. Designers like Coco Chanel, Christian Dior, and Jean-Paul Gaultier have set the standards for haute couture. Each piece is a work of art, often requiring hundreds of hours of labor. Haute couture is not just about the garment but also about the craftsmanship and the heritage of the fashion house.
Ready-to-Wear (Prêt-à-Porter)
Ready-to-wear fashion bridges the gap between haute couture and mass production. Unlike haute couture, which is made for individual clients, ready-to-wear clothing is produced in standard sizes and available in retail outlets. These collections are often showcased during fashion weeks in major cities like New York, Paris, Milan, and London. Designers like Yves Saint Laurent popularized this type of fashion, making high-quality, stylish clothes accessible to a broader audience.
Streetwear
Streetwear emerged from the urban youth culture of the 1980s and 1990s, heavily influenced by skateboarding, hip-hop, and punk. Characterized by casual, comfortable pieces such as hoodies, sneakers, and graphic T-shirts, streetwear blurs the lines between fashion and everyday wear. Brands like Supreme, Off-White, and A Bathing Ape (BAPE) are iconic in this genre. Streetwear often involves limited edition releases and collaborations with artists and other brands, creating a sense of exclusivity and community.
Vintage and Retro
Vintage fashion refers to clothing and accessories from previous decades, often considered timeless and of high quality. Retro fashion, on the other hand, involves contemporary clothing designed to mimic the style of a previous era. Both styles celebrate nostalgia and the cyclical nature of fashion trends. Vintage shops and thrift stores are treasure troves for unique pieces that tell a story. Designers like Vivienne Westwood have incorporated vintage elements into their collections, blending old and new.
Bohemian (Boho) Fashion
Bohemian fashion, often shortened to "boho," draws inspiration from the free-spirited lifestyle of the 1960s and 1970s hippie movement. Characterized by flowing fabrics, earthy tones, and eclectic patterns, boho fashion exudes a relaxed, unconventional vibe. Key elements include maxi dresses, fringe, embroidery, and ethnic prints. Brands like Free People and Anthropologie have popularized this style, making it a staple for music festivals and casual wear.
Preppy
Preppy fashion is inspired by the traditional clothing styles of American prep schools and Ivy League universities. It is characterized by clean, classic, and polished looks. Key pieces include polo shirts, khaki pants, blazers, and loafers. The style emphasizes quality and timelessness, with brands like Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, and Lacoste being quintessential preppy labels. Preppy fashion embodies an understated elegance and a sense of tradition.
Grunge
Grunge fashion originated in the early 1990s, inspired by the Seattle music scene and bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam. It is characterized by an unkempt, "thrown-together" look, often featuring flannel shirts, ripped jeans, combat boots, and oversized sweaters. The grunge aesthetic is anti-establishment and rejects the polished, mainstream fashion norms. Designers like Marc Jacobs have brought grunge elements to high fashion, blending rebellion with style.
Minimalist
Minimalist fashion focuses on simplicity, clean lines, and a limited color palette. It emphasizes quality over quantity, with a preference for timeless, versatile pieces. Key elements include monochrome outfits, tailored cuts, and understated accessories. Brands like COS, The Row, and Jil Sander exemplify minimalist fashion. The minimalist approach advocates for a more sustainable wardrobe, encouraging thoughtful consumption and investment in enduring pieces.
Avant-Garde
Avant-garde fashion pushes the boundaries of conventional design, embracing innovation, experimentation, and artistic expression. It often features unconventional materials, asymmetrical cuts, and dramatic silhouettes. Avant-garde designers like Alexander McQueen, Rei Kawakubo (of Comme des Garçons), and Issey Miyake create pieces that challenge the norms and provoke thought. This type of fashion is not always about wearability but rather about making a statement and exploring new frontiers.
Athleisure
Athleisure combines athletic and leisurewear, creating a style that is both comfortable and fashionable. It includes items like yoga pants, leggings, sports bras, and sneakers that can be worn for both exercise and everyday activities. This trend reflects the growing emphasis on health, wellness, and the casualization of dress codes. Brands like Lululemon, Nike, and Athleta are pioneers in athleisure, offering functional yet stylish options for the modern, active lifestyle.
Gothic
Gothic fashion draws inspiration from the dark, mysterious aesthetics of gothic literature, architecture, and music. It often features black clothing, lace, velvet, corsets, and Victorian-inspired accessories. The style can range from romantic and elaborate to punk-influenced and industrial. Designers like Alexander McQueen and Rick Owens have incorporated gothic elements into their collections, blending darkness with high fashion.
Punk
Punk fashion emerged in the 1970s as a rebellious statement against the mainstream. It is characterized by DIY elements, distressed fabrics, safety pins, leather jackets, and bold hairstyles like mohawks. Punk fashion is inherently anti-establishment and often incorporates political messages. Designers like Vivienne Westwood played a crucial role in bringing punk aesthetics to the fashion world, merging subculture with haute couture.
Ethnic and Traditional
Ethnic and traditional fashion celebrates cultural heritage and craftsmanship from around the world. It includes clothing and accessories that are specific to a culture or region, such as Indian saris, Japanese kimonos, African Ankara prints, and Native American beadwork. This type of fashion preserves and honors cultural identity while often inspiring contemporary designers to incorporate traditional elements into modern designs.
Business and Formal
Business and formal fashion revolves around professional and sophisticated attire suitable for work environments and formal occasions. Key pieces include tailored suits, blazers, dress shirts, pencil skirts, and formal dresses. Brands like Hugo Boss, Armani, and Brooks Brothers are renowned for their business attire. This type of fashion emphasizes professionalism, confidence, and elegance.
Casual and Everyday
Casual fashion encompasses comfortable and practical clothing for everyday wear. It includes items like jeans, T-shirts, sneakers, and casual dresses. This style prioritizes comfort and ease, making it versatile for various activities. Brands like Levi's, Gap, and Uniqlo are staples in casual fashion, offering timeless pieces that can be dressed up or down.
Sustainable Fashion
Sustainable fashion focuses on environmental and ethical responsibility. It involves using eco-friendly materials, fair trade practices, and promoting slow fashion over fast fashion. Sustainable fashion aims to reduce the negative impact on the planet and improve working conditions in the fashion industry. Brands like Patagonia, Stella McCartney, and Eileen Fisher are leaders in this movement, advocating for a more mindful approach to fashion consumption.
Conclusion
The world of fashion is vast and varied, encompassing a multitude of styles that cater to different tastes, cultures, and occasions. From the opulence of haute couture to the practicality of casual wear, each type of fashion tells a unique story and serves a distinct purpose. Understanding the diversity in fashion not only broadens our sartorial horizons but also deepens our appreciation for the creativity and craftsmanship that define this ever-evolving industry. Whether you gravitate towards the timeless elegance of preppy fashion or the bold statements of avant-garde, there is a style for everyone in the tapestry of fashion.

hello hello, nous voici, mes co-admins nox & @jeudisgris, avec quelques updates tout frais. nous avons réellement bien avancé sur les divers sujets du forum, le code et les multiples annexes, ce qui va nous permettre une ouverture d'ici quelques jours seulement. c'est donc avec une joie toute particulière que nous vous présentons le contexte final;

The happy days

Having the opportunity to explore this year’s Met Costume Exhibit ‘Women Dressing Women’ gave me the chance to learn just how big of a role that women had in helping shape the fashion industry into what it is today. Presented in what I would call a four act play, act I titled ‘Anonymity’ begins with the entrance of women in the fashion world. Dressmaking was first seen as an extension of domestic work in the 16th century done by women, but as the growing vocation made its way to the United States women would begin embroidering their work as to have it be rightfully credited to them, but also helping fashion historians keep track of who designed what.
Act II is what I could only cheekily refer to as “old maiden clothes.” Or the birthplace of female autonomy in creating pieces such as lingerie and evening gowns. As I was walking through this part of the exhibit I couldn’t help but chuckle at the idea of some of these pieces being considered lingerie. For example, when staring at Marie Gerber’s ‘Evening Ensemble’ I kept thinking how conservative it is when I compare it to big lingerie brands such as Victoria’s Secret and Savage Fenty. Having grown up on those brands it’s not that strange to see why I would think Gerber was being a bit too modest with her design. Another of my favorite look from this act included Jeanne Lanvin’s ‘Cyclone’ evening gown who would create her own boutique with no financial backing.
Act III titled ‘Agency’ and could be compared to the third wave of feminism, saw a more revealing woman break into the scene. With the rise of the British Punk scene and popular rock bands like The Rolling Stones, Sex Pistols and Black Sabbath, it inspired British designers like Betsey Johnson and Vivienne Westwood to help create a new, edgy look that could match this subversive culture. Fashion was no longer just for the elite, it became an important symbol in cultural revolution and rebellion. Something that women designers could understand and relate to as they continued to push into the mainstream and make their collections not just works of art but a loud disruption to a corrupt and stiff society. Some of my favorite looks from this act include Betsey Johnson’s ‘Paraphernalia’ that I consider paying homage to the rise of hippie culture and the Beatles smash hit ‘Yellow Submarine.’ It was made most famous by model Baby Jane Holzer. Vivienne Westwood’s ‘On Liberty’ recognizes the British High Class and fun fact Vivienne Westwood’s second husband Malcolm McLaren was the manager of the Sex Pistols and Vivienne would often times design their wardrobes growing popularity for both her and the band. I would also be remiss if I didn’t mention the work of Ann Lowe, an African American designer who would go on to make, and then remake the day before due to a flood in her basement, Jackie Kennedy’s wedding dress which she would receive no credit for.
Act IV titled ‘Absence/Omission’ would introduce the “modern woman” created to feature and examine the inclusion of women with different body types as well as showcasing designs made for women who live with disabilities such as Aaron Philips who would have a mannequin modeled after her wearing peices designed by Collina Strada. Aaron Philips is most notable for her debut in the Moschino Fall ‘22 show. This act will also feature pieces from Danish designer Jasmin Søe who creates ensembles for those who live with achondroplasia(little person syndrome) as well as Ester Manas who is known for championing plus size women with her creations.
Though my favorite pieces would in this exhibit would come from Marie Grazia Chiuri ensemble for Dior. Marie captures everything I love about Dior, the combining of high luxury activities with haute couture to match in this fencing inspired ensemble. Tory Burch’s 2024 resort white dress is simplistic in nature but reminds me of something out of the classical Swan Lake ballet show(or if you’re a bit edgy the 2010 cult film ‘Black Swan’). Along with Simone Rocha’s couture dress that I can absolutely give no notes on, these would be my favorite pieces that I found myself coming back to often. Donna Karen’s ‘93 evening dress is honorably mentioned too due to Hillary Clinton wearing it (very distastefully in my opinion) at the 1993 State Dinner. However the gown itself was beautiful and reminded me of a longer version of Maddie Perez’s New Years dress in season 2 of ‘Euphoria.’
Overall these collection was both inspiring to see. I have only had the opportunity to visit the Met costume exhibit twice. The previous time focusing on works of Karl Lagerfeld. This exhibit however taught me more about women’s role in fashion and their struggle to breakthrough than any fashion course I could potentially take. The importance of preserving this history is obvious. Without the knowledge of Ann Lowe, Jackie Kennedy’s famous wedding dress would have continued to go uncredited and a Black woman would have been forgotten to history. These are the types of exhibits that matter. In preserving and showcasing our history, we are able to teach and inspire a new generation of fashion critics, designers and models to see what is possible in this amazing industry and if you find yourself in New York I would highly recommend making time to check out the exhibit.

Even if fashion isn’t something you normally find interesting, it’s hard to resist the allure of the creations on view at the Brooklyn Museum for the retrospective Thierry Mugler: Couturissime.
From the museum’s web page-
Thierry Mugler: Couturissime is the first retrospective to explore the fascinating, edgy universe of French designer and creator of iconic perfumes Thierry Mugler. A fashion visionary, Mugler established himself as one of the most daring and innovative designers of the late twentieth century. His bold silhouettes and unorthodox techniques and materials—including glass, Plexiglas, vinyl, latex, and chrome—made their mark on fashion history.
In the 1970s, Mugler defined trends with his acclaimed “glamazon,” a chic, modern woman whose style evolved from the hippie fashions of the 1960s. In the 1980s and ’90s, Mugler galvanized the renaissance of haute couture through his provocative collections and theatrical fashion shows, which involved grandiose locations and the era’s most iconic models. Just as his work is still influencing new generations of couturiers, celebrities continue to be drawn to Mugler’s designs: his classic gowns have recently been worn by Beyoncé, Cardi B, and Kim Kardashian.
The exhibition features over one hundred outfits ranging from haute couture pieces to stage costumes, alongside custom accessories, sketches, videos, images by leading fashion photographers, and spectacular installations that mirror Mugler’s futuristic approach. The Brooklyn Museum’s presentation also introduces an expanded section dedicated to fragrance, centered on Mugler’s trailblazing scent Angel. Thierry Mugler: Couturissime is an opportunity to discover and rediscover the fantastical work of this multidisciplinary artist, who revolutionized the world of fashion.
A description of the above gown from the museum’s info plaque-
The “La Chimère” gown-Mugler’s masterpiece made in collaboration with the South African corset maker Mr. Pearl and the artist Jean-Jacques Urcun- has mythical status, considered by some as one of the most expensive creations in couture history, given the meticulous amount of work required in its making.
Mr. Pearl describes that collaboration with Mugler as the most extreme experience of his life: “[‘La Chimère gown] was probably the most intense project, it took six weeks working 24/7, so basically more than one thousand hours just in embroidery. We were about twenty people working on different parts of it along with Jean-Jacques Urcun. It’s about fantasy, it was like going to the University of Beauty. To fulfill his vision and his fantasies with clothes is already a challenge, he is a genius, a perfectionist. You have to try, and he pushes everyone to try what seems impossible to achieve with a needle.”
Also included in the exhibition are several incredible (and often safety-defying) photos Mugler took himself at various landmarks, including the one below at NYC’s Chrysler Building.
(“Chrysler Building, New York”, 1989 -Claude Heidemeyer in “Vertigo” by Mugler, 1988)
This exhibition closes 5/7/23.

If you want to know whether it’s “anything with wheat” that disagrees with you or “modern American commercial bread,” that wouldn’t be hard to test empirically if you have access to an oven and a grocery store with a Haute Hippie section. Just get some spelt flour and a recipe for slow-rise bread.
