Haunting Adeline thoughts by Chapter(SPOILERS)

Book: Haunting Adeline by H.D Carlton

Before  Reading Thoughts: I’ve heard this book is rather polarizing; the MMC is hot but is a hypocrite. The main character’s apparently don’t even meet up until 200 chapters in? And the gun scene is… a bit much. I’ve heard there’s some CNC involved too but sometimes I’m in the mood for that.

-Chapter 1: Yeah, I had heard there was too much description of the house, and right off the bat I can agree. It’s an old, maybe haunted house; nuff said.

Weird random diary entry at the end.

-Chapter 2: Jeeeeez dude….. Not love at first sight, it’s obsessed at first sight.

80% scary, 20% titillating

-Chapter 6: “if a virgin girl is killed.” Why are we concerned with that? 

-Chapter 10: Oh, look, the severed hands scene… great.

-Chapter 11: Ew, he’s a smoker, gross! Immediate no! Ickie smoker mouth!

Oh, gosh girl, you went outside to confront him??? Yikes!

-Chapter 16: Oh… here’s the gun scene… yikes. For the first encounter? Really? Couldn’t do this later on? Imma guess he sucks at sex if his opener is gun fukkin.

-Chapter 18: “Swallow your juices.” EW!

-Chapter 20: Some guy notices Zade’s face scar and made a comment on it. Zade goes, “That was fukkin rude, but he’s not wrong.” lmao

-Chapter 22: “Mommy, are they having sex?” LAMO!

Zade is a complete incel, but some parts of this story are funny 

-Chapter 25: Okay, that was kinda hot, tho I hate scary movies

-Chapter 26: “You’re only hot cuz you forgot to open the window.” lmao!

Can’t lie, i'm starting to get bored now - and im maybe 60% of the way in

Chapter 28: I got bored - DNF, in my opinion, this is why dark romance or contemporary romance should be kept short and sweet

Chapter 1: The Book Signing.

Dear Diary,

Today was my book signing. Despite being a self-made author who has not one, but two, published books, I've never felt at ease around my "fans". But, Celine told me that if I didn't get it done then I'd find myself on the back shelf with no prospects of returning. So, I did what I do best... I put on my mask. Then *he* came in. I really actually loved this book! I do wish Addie would have accepted her love for zade a little faster but on the other hand I do understand why she struggled with the thought of it. He did start off this cat and mouse game by stalking her🤔.

I feel like this book had a good amount of spice and was very detailed

Favorite scene: Addie admitting she was falling for zade

Favorite spice scene: house of mirrors and car scenes

Favorite character : Zade and Jay!

Least favorite: mark

Definitely should read If you like dark romance

do you ever wonder why the only times you ever actually feel something is while you're reading or watching something? it's like drugs; the dopamine, the pain, the overflowing vault of emotions; it all just comes flooding out while you're reading. the rush of excitement flooding through, which only emerges at the thought of the fictional worlds we've created inside our heads. nothing in real life gets you quite high like that, only feeling any exhilaration through the stupid games, teasing, and playful banter with a dumb guy you couldn't give two shits about. always trying to be sucked into a book filling your heart with the rawest emotions you could ever experience.
