Semi related to my posts earlier but kind of a tangent. This is messy but its something that's been eating at me and I don't really know how to move forward.
Yesterday was Transgender Day of Remembrance. There are many names we know and mourn, but there are many more that are never seen. Many names are missing because they could not be acknowledged as their true selves after, or before, their deaths.
The thing that's been bothering me is that the lists most groups will consult, these missing names include those lost to suicide. Known cases of trans people, often young people, are being left out of these lists. Their deaths are not considered part of "the losses we face due to anti-transgender bigotry and violence".
Every trans suicide is a murder.
Its not a coincidence that minorities have higher rates of suicide. Its the way we are treated, our quality of life, that most influences these statistics. I have seen news of at least one case, a trans man in Alberta, who committed suicide explicitly because of the anti-trans policies his province was set to enact.
Ive seen dozens of articles. I've seen a trans masc's instagram, where the most recent comments are from their friends. On a post where they were celebrating starting hrt, the most recent comment is mourning their loss, that they didn't live to complete their first year on T. I've looked at their posts, I've read their words, I've seen their smile. And they're gone.
Their name was Bekett Noble. They deserve to be remembered.
There's dozens of people each year who share thier experiences and go unnamed. The young man in Alberta, for example, was not named publicly in the article where his death was mentioned. Due to a family connection, I know of at least one instance of a murder of a trans man in western Canada that I have not seen any news of publicly at all. His body was found with his genitals mutilated.
There's many half formed things I could say about these lists when it comes to trans men and mascs specifically but I don't feel my thoughts are solidified enough and it's not what I want to focus on here.
I believe trans suicides should be part of these Remembrance lists. Its a disservice to our community that they aren't.
If you can, please use the site below. They have a database going back decades with a well implemented filtering system.
These are the known deaths of trans people in Canada since last year's TDoR. Each name links to a page of information about them and links to where the information was sourced.
As for many things, these lists are a community effort. If you see that a death you know of is missing from the list, please contact them with whatever information you have. The second entry, whose name is still unknown, was added after I contacted them and provided the article in which I'd learned of his death. Since then, the folks running the site have done additional research and added what they could to his info page, including an extensive statement from his aunt, whom he was close to.
This past September, The Trevor Project published a report:
From 2018 to 2022, 48 anti-transgender laws were enacted in the U.S. across 19 different state governments. The study examined the causal relationship between these laws and suicide risk over this five-year time period, using national survey data collected from more than 61,000 transgender and nonbinary youth. Results concluded that, during this time period, anti-transgender laws significantly increased incidents of past-year suicide attempts among transgender and nonbinary youth by as much as 72%.
[...] Across the full sample of transgender and nonbinary young people ages 13-24, an increase in suicide attempt rates of 38% to 44% was observed.
- The Trevor Project
Every trans suicide is a murder.
There will always be missing names on these lists. I don't believe that known instances of trans suicides should be excluded from them. They deserve to be remembered.

[Long post incoming. Edit: see additional reblog for links to 2 other studies mentioned since tumblr kept breaking them]
TLDR: from the study we have available, there is tenuous evidence that trans men and non-binary people make ~70% of a typical worker's wage while trans women make ~60%. Both binary groups have a same-gender pay gap of ~35% when compared to their cis counterparts. Trans women face the largest drop in pay when transitioning (making 45% less than cis men) while trans men also face a drop in pay when transitioning (23% less than cis women). This data however is based on 6,816 total queer people classified as "typical workers" and does not disclose the real proportions of trans respondants. Of note, the confidence interval for trans women is very large at +/- 231$ where the conclusions given are based on an estimated median figure of 600$/week.
I'm actually working on a doc right now trying to gather all the studies and data we have for trans folks (as well as highlighting what intersex data I can find). I'm still going through all of it but the one article that I know went around social media a lot (2021) stated that trans men and nonbinary people make ~70% of a "typical worker's" weekly pay but trans women make ~60%.
I'm not at all opposed to this being true but its also not the hard proof people are claiming it to be. If you download the study's appendix, you see that their confidence interval for trans women is Very broad compared to other gender categories (and similar or worse for some poc groups).
That column is their 95% confidence interval, meaning that if they were to redo the study, they're 95% sure the answer each time would fall Somewhere in that range. For a study making broad claims based on 100$/week or less differences between groups, having a +/- 231$ for one group and not having that as a disclaimer Anywhere in your main article is hugely irresponsible. This is their only comment on it, also within the appendix (edit: and at the vveeeery bottom of the article):
The other thing I was interest in was how this compared across cis/trans lines. Using the numbers above and comparing to the 'typical workers' stats they linked elsewhere, we can see that trans men make ~64% of what cis men make and trans women (per this study's data) make ~66% of what cis women make.
When it comes to a "trans pay gap", the numbers are surprisingly close for both trans men (left) and trans women (right). But I hear you saying, "that means trans men DO benefit from the patriarchy! Because (white) cis (het) men make the most!"
The question I was actually most interested in was the difference before/after transition aka cis men compared to trans women and cis women compared to trans men.
And that's a huge fucking drop for trans women! They go from having some of the highest pay for typical workers to possibly the lowest, a 45% drop in average weekly earnings. That's fucked!
The thing I think people are really invested in though, the reason I'm replying to this specific post, is the numbers for trans men. We also see a wage decrease when we come out.
In every post Ive seen, trans mascs are not saying we have it worse than trans fems, very Very often we explicitly state this in our posts because its the most common accusation levied against us- even on the posts where we say word for word that trans fems also face X issue or even have X issue worse. The only posts Ive ever seen that state trans mascs have X worse, are ones specifically a. Pushing back on narratives that we have zero problems and b. Have exact stats and links in-post to back up the claims.
With what I've discussed here in mind, this is how the article actually presented their data:
That first line, "Working men (including both cisgender and transgender men) in the LGBTQ+ community earned approximately 4% less than the typical worker.", is honestly so infuriating. That the only time trans men are mentioned by name in this paragraph is to imply we face no consequences for being trans, only for being queer, and implying we are then raised above queer women.
Compare this to the last sentence and the way trans women are described when mentioned by name: "Transgender women, who hold both a marginalized gender (e.g., woman) and gender identity e.g. transgender), report the largest gap of all, earning approximately 60 cents for every dollar the typical U.S. worker earns." This kind of phrasing is so on-the-nose that its almost painful.
Even if we want to declare complete ignorance of intersectionality and that trans men are "only trans", why is this excluding non-binary people? How are non-binary, genderqueer, genderfluid, and two-spirit not considered marginalized genders? Why are they only labeled as "marginalized gender identities"? Why is our identity considered the only relevant factor to begin with? As opposed to how the system generally, and our employers specifically, view and treat us? I don't expect studies like this to dive into that kind of nuance, they can't, but that this attitude has become the accepted narrative and any attempts for nuance are labeled harassment or whining, its really frustrating to see it parroted here.
Back to the topic at hand, you have to scroll down well past that paragraph and the first sets of data to reach the first time they actually reveal what trans men make.
The other elephant in the room
What is a "typical worker" and how many people did this actually survey? If there's such a large interval for trans women, how many trans women participated? Well-
To pull the numbers, this study includes stats from 6,816 queer people who were employed full-time (as of the week before they were surveyed) in a non-farm work, public/private sector job. Of the total people they had take this survey, 55% did not meet that definition. This included students, retirees, unemployed (1,129 people) or "working in a different setting" (i.e. farm work, working part time or self-employed)(2,160 people).
Of the nearly 7k people who qualified, how many were trans? They don't say. Of the people who were unemployed or otherwise employed, how many were trans? They don't say. It's very possible that trans women make up a majority of that unemployed number but we just don't have their data.
They do, however, note in a disclaimer (in the appendix) that general polling data suggests that the majority of queer people ID as bisexual while only 1/3rd of their respondants were bi. They don't note any other discrepancies. Based on some quick googling, another 2021 study sets the prevalence of trans people within the queer community as 10%. Meaning if trans women were 3.3% of the data collected (lets awkwardly assume equal distribution across trans women, men and non-binary folks), that wouldn't raise concerns for them because it reflects current community composition data. Of the total respondants (13,914) that's ~456 trans women and ~1,391 trans people total.
That's not great but its also not terrible- but remember that 55% of that total population was not a Typical Worker, and we don't get the numbers on that. From other studies, we know trans people face increased unemployment rates, we often end up employed part time or self-employed, and we're also disproportionately represented among younger respondants who are more likely to be full-time students.
CAP 2022 (data collected in 2021-2022) found that 43% of trans households make under 30k annually and 29% make between 30k - 60k. The median 'typical worker' made ~52k. They also found 22% of trans people were part time compared to 11% of cis respondants. Of the trans people who were employed, 18% worked in food service or preparation and 15% worked as retail salespeople but they also note that data on employment of queer folks is limited and more research needs to be done.
All this to say, I wouldn't be surprised if the Wage Gap survey had less than 500 trans people included in its 'typical workers'. I think it's also of note that CAP goes into a Lot of details but does Not break down trans demographics into different gender identities. For the majority of studies I've looked at, there just isn't enough data to responsibly compare different gender identities on these grounds.
genuine question. can anyone explain how trans men are privileged above trans women with material examples and without using the blizzard oppression chart or going "it's not bad because you're the one it's happening to"

Samantha Weir's (nee Cordial) family is next, starting the rotation before the sun is up.
A brief recap:
Samantha is a neutral witch and a doctor, and she is married to Connor Weir, a somewhat unlucky (but not enough to get the "unlucky" trait) architect.
Their daughter Liara is a long-awaited, much beloved child. She takes mostly after her father in her appearance and personality, being pretty grumpy and clumsy. Liara is very attached to the family's-
-witch housekeeper, Clara Simons.
The family has two cats: Magical (ginger) and Hatter (brown and gray).
The money is tight, so everyone who is able to work, does. Even Clara took on extra work outside of the house.

Me ranking the Alice in Borderland characters based on how they'd react to me being trans (non-binary)
12: Niragi. Man would call me some slurs and I would not surprised if he just shot me 😩 his existence is a hate crime to me.
11: Hatter. Wouldn't care but may also say something completely offensive and think it's fine.
10: Shibuki. I feel like she wouldn't care and the conversation would get a tad awkward and we never talk about it ever again.
9: Karube. He'd mess up my pronouns a couple times and he'd ask if I've had the "surgery" yet but overall would be nice and would defend me from transphobes. Very much the quote "he's confused but he's got the spirit"
8: Chota. He's a little more up to date compared to Karube and would ask me how I picked my name 😌
7: Tatta. This might just be the manga English version I read but he canonically did say something transphohic to Kuina 😩 but I'm ignoring that for tv show Tatta and he would tell me I'm handsome but then follow it up with "but no homo". Would punch a transphobic militant for me. I am 100% gay for manga Tatta so I am projecting here based on the fact I want him to like me.
6: Arisu "You're transgender? Wow...that's...so cool 😳" Ryohei
5: Aguni. This man is literally gay and has probably gone to pride or something before. He has trans friends.
4: An. She's studied science I'm pretty sure for her career, she'd pull up some stats and charts to prove that I'm 100% valid and real. Advocates for non-binary people 😌
3: Usagi. She'd hug me, maybe cry when I tell her about my family, tell me I'm beautiful. I just love her so I'm 100% projecting here.
2: Chishiya. Transmasc solidarity but also he's literally friends with Kuina he does not care and will never judge me for being trans. He'd instead judge me for being a fucking idiot 😔 would reguarly remind me to not wear a binder to any of the games.
1: Kuina, obviously. She'd be like oh same bro 😎We'd share trauma stories and discuss politics and shit and idk maybe kiss for that transmasc and transfem solidarity 😳

"Last Encore" (ev.) @whispering-lava Misc.: The Joker, Harley Quinn, Gi “Geode” Flores, Janus Lyssa @SherlyWats, Madelyn “Angelica” Farro @The-Brain-Teaser, Jadis “Killcode” [Surname Redacted] @whispering-lava Affiliations: The Tetch Family; The Joker Gang [formally] PERSONALITY Personality Type: ESTP-A [Assertive Entrepreneur] Temperament: Sanguine-Choleric Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Playful | Witty | Erratic | Careless | Brutal Miles’ “daytime” persona is a friendly, quick-to-joke man who takes all things in stride. He possesses a casual cheeriness and an easygoing attitude that aids him in making quick acquaintances and even a fair amount of friends, even if he’s notably private about his personal life. It’s usually written off as him having a generally quiet bachelor lifestyle. He’s best known from his job as a waiter at a tea and sweets shop named The Mad Tea House, where he lets his more impish traits shine through to his fellow employees. He’s been guilty of child-like pranks, shirking responsibilities onto others, and being a bit of a gadfly when he feels things have gotten too quiet in the tea house. As Killjoy, he’s violent, disturbingly reckless, fueled by spite, and follows no logic other than his own. He wastes no time looking for retaliation when he perceives a wrong done against him. K.J’s sense of humor is abundantly morbid, his words often tinged with irony and false jolly. He thoroughly enjoys getting under people’s skin and milking their uncomfortableness. In truth, there are very few things Miles takes seriously, but the one thing he sets above all else are his ties of loyalty. As rash as he is in regards to his own well-being, all bets are off once someone he comes to care for is in harm’s way. While he argues he finds this annoying about himself, it’s also his one source of proof showing he hasn’t completely lost his way. ABILITIES AND WEAKNESSES Metahuman Biology: Originally, Miles’ metagene was tied to his adrenal glands, allowing a boost in bio-stats such as improved strength and reflexes. Years of fear toxin dosing further strengthened this metagene. Unbeknownst to him, his metagene was continually evolving, correlating with his need for survival. His eventual death “rebooted” the metagene, jump starting his body, and fully allowing it to unfurl.
- Immortality: Miles has recently discovered his inability to die by various means. His body heals regentively and is immune to fatal poisons and toxins. - Adrenaline Surge/Blitz Mode: His adrenaline bursts allow him enhanced strength, speed, agility and reflexes. During these “Blitzes,” Miles turns into a one-man wrecking crew, plowing through obstacles and opponents through sheer determination. - Pain Tolerance: Has an abnormally high tolerance to pain, does not mean he can’t feel pain, it simply doesn’t hinder his ability to think or move. (Ex. He can burn his hand, and he feels the same amount of pain anyone else would in the same situation, he just won't react to it if he chooses not to) While Miles is officially immortal by way of being unnaturally resilient, he is still able to experience symptoms and side effects of diseases, poisons and toxins. His healing factor slows in colder temperatures, stopping completely when it drops to freezing points. Heavy damage to his head area hinder him considerably and Miles still feels the after effects after having healed (ie. slurred speech, blurry vision, dizziness). He is extremely susceptible to electric attacks, as it overrides his nervous system, prompting unconsciousness. Gear/Weapons: - Frowny Face Mask: Besides serving as a trademark symbol, Killjoy’s mask comes equipped with mapping and schematic information, allowing for quick and easy navigation. - Voice Changer: An electronic patch attached to his throat allows Killjoy to copy various voices, ranging across age and gender. - Signal Scrambler: Killjoy operates on a generally covert level, sometimes communication from one party to another isn’t in his best interest - Assorted Explosives: Killjoy’s go-to toys, these are generally self explanatory. They vary in size and demolition damage. For the sake of irony, Killjoy is fond of deadman switches. - Weighted Gloves: Serve as built-in brass knuckles, K.J’s preferred melee weapon 3 in. Balisongs: Two of them to be precise, these typically only come out when simple bruises aren’t cutting it anymore. - Grappling Gun: Useful to get around the city landscape. The blue labeled gun. - 9mm Handgun: Killjoy dislikes having to use this one, if it’s in his hand, he’s officially stopped fooling around. The red labeled gun. - Joyride: A custom-built Camero, Killjoy’s prized possession and getaway car HISTORY TW: SUICIDE MENTION Jess Terring, better known in the Gotham Underground as Jester, shot through headlines despite his years of generally low profile work as a simple Joker lackey. Charged with the deaths of dozens and injuries of several more by result of a fatal explosion, he was to spend a life sentence at Arkham Asylum, his protests of innocence falling on deaf ears. His attempts at an appeal were overruled, even with figures such as Batman and Nightwing looking into his case for him. Arkham Asylum was hell on Earth for Jess. His shreds of hope fell apart as the months crawled on, his mental state deteriorating in the process. He had never wanted to get involved with the Joker, all he’d been was a good-for-nothing conman who’d gotten too greedy. His last four years as Jester had been a never-ending nightmare. Things finally culminated during a free-for-all jailbreak at Arkham where Jess, along with other inmates, were cornered on the roof. Unable to stomach the idea of being thrown back in the cell he was wrongfully given and simply tired of the misery, he jumped. Jess Terring was proclaimed dead by suicide off Arkham Asylum… The last thing Jess expected to happen was to wake up in a morgue. Barely coherent and running on sheer instinct, Jess managed to escape, although not without killing the on-duty mortician. His first official kill and he hadn’t felt a thing. He wouldn’t reflect on it until after clearing Gotham City, and even then, he realized it wasn’t the mortician’s death that bothered him, but rather he didn’t feel anything about it to begin with. Between recognizing his new lack of humanity and hearing the joker-like laugh escaping him, Jess broke. He spent the following months wandering the states as a nameless face. The bizarre events surrounding Jess’ death was eventually swept away by the everflowing stream of news media and within the year, faded into obscurity. It was the best he could have hoped for, free from the Joker’s grasp and unknown, but his thoughts kept returning back to Gotham City. The more the thoughts plagued him, the angrier he got. The Joker had gotten off scot-free, having framed him for the initial massacre and ran him to the ground, eventually turning him into...whatever he was. While a part of him argued he’d be better off cutting his losses, he found himself unable to set it aside and he set course back to Gotham City. He didn’t have a plan so much as he did an outline, but he soon figured out he wasn’t required to be especially careful anymore. Being nigh-indestructible made for a good buffer. He’d finally found a blessing through his curse and through trial-and-error quickly fashioned himself as a makeshift mercenary. During this time he worked under a variety of names, involving himself in several under-the-radar jobs in order to fund what would eventually be his official M.O. He marked his entrance into Gotham with a string of bomb hits on territories tied to the Joker. As of now, not many are sure what to make of this new face, some cheering for his more direct approach on the Clown Prince, others exhausted with the prospect of another nut on the scene, and even a few seedier folk wanting to get him on their payroll. He’s unconcerned by it all, but he finds himself liking the ring to the name circling around him. Killjoy. NOTES - Killjoy mostly classifies as a serial bomber, targeting hideouts and planned heist hits. While he will set up evacuations so as to not injure more people than he has to, he’s fairly flippant about collateral damage - Despite his nonchalance towards violence, Killjoy does what he can to keep things non-lethal. His way of vengeance is a shot to the knee rather than a shot to the head. It’s not that he has a problem killing, it’s just as an immortal, death is the easy way out. - It’s believed Miles’ drastic change in personality comes from multiple factors instead of just one large catalyst (ie. years of fear toxin injection, joker gas inhalation, the trauma of death and resurrection) - The name Miles Manson doesn’t have any particular meaning, it had been a name he improvised and he grew fond of it. He severely hates being called Jess. - He suffers from night terrors, likely due to his usage of fear toxin in the past. He also experiences flashbacks akin to HPPD, albeit rarely - He can withstand an extreme amount of physical abuse and keep his wits about him, but once it passes a certain threshold, his mental state will eventually slip into a frenzy. Unable to consciously keep hold of himself, he will become animalistically brutal to anyone in his vicinity. - K.J mostly concerns himself with causing problems for the Joker, although he can be moved to ally with others for other reasons when he finds fit. Notably, he’s stuck a somewhat fickle truce with Nightwing over the rising number of metatrafficking rings in Gotham and Blüdhaven.

act 0. observer’s notes Bastion.
a conversation about the (there lack of) manifestation of Sophie’s bastion.
however, with the idea of Topaxi characters being summonable in F/GO, the bastion could manifest itself as a move, or secondary trait, but not as a noble phantasm.
The caster’s axiom is their 'one truth’ brought to existence, breaking the threshold of abstract and infiltrating reality. It is the wish that births the bastion, the contradiction that both exists in peace yet in torn to pieces when it exists. (Interpreted from Call It A Lesson: Topaxi - Bastions).
Bastions work as projections of the inner person’s wish to the WORLD - the line between reality and self is given a bridge to where the interior of the self breaches through. It is the undoing of impossibilities and reveling in humanity’s strength: doing. No matter what the odds and costs are, humanity will always do.
What then becomes of the girl whose words become true and who can speak life? A power so synced and alike to a bastion, one whose magic bypasses ‘defiance’ and ‘breaking.’
Defied fate, defied mankind, defied unnatural, defied natural, and defied divines, all matter and ideas that were relative. Why? For you create absolution. excerpt from description of Sophie’s unnamed ability in Stat Sheet.
Surely, her magic is on par, if not a similar style, to bastions.
Yet, it would be foolish to consider that.
Walking aporia that Sophie Hatter is, she is a wishless girl. The self is one that has been countlessly built, torn apart, and stitched back together for someone else’s convenience. A temporal constitution means that wishes, desires, and other personal attributes to the mind are seen as wasteful and unnecessary. No matter how much her heart may bleed for a taste of humanity, she will consciously deny herself.
If she were to have a wish, and the only she could remember, was one for her sisters. It never was a ‘I wish,’ but an ‘I want.’ I want Martha and Lettie to be happy. Which, in truth, is the type of wish she’d have generally for everyone.
Someone could read this as her wanting to see those around her living the life she can’t have. But that line of thought neglects how much simpler, but sadder, of a person Sophie is - she just wants people happy. And if someone were to live like her, they wouldn’t be happy because this life cannot complete that.
Instead, she finds that her life can be used to fulfill the happiness of others. She pushes aside the concept of wishes and prefers grounded methods to accomplishing what others want. Wishing, personally, hurts Sophie because she will tell herself that it’s impossible and a waste of time (no matter how much she wants it).
If you can already tell, her own contradictions and hypocrisies fit in line with bastions. However, without a stable ‘wish’ as it is one that changes accordingly to the environment and situation, Sophie Hatter would face large difficulties being able to use a bastion.
Which, for literary purposes, we can describe this incapability as a symbol of her own conflicts and displacement that persist in her life in Topaxi. Her idea of life is fractured - the normalcy she cultivated and maintain consumed by fire and war - the purposes in her life (her sisters) far away - her confrontations with her trauma and the ‘her’ who she thought long died pushed away...
Until Sophie Hatter regains her sense of self, she will not be capable of performing a bastion. Until she figures out who she is and accepts that she is actually someone, she will not be able to move on. Until she finally confronts herself, she will only continue in dread and turmoil.
On the flip side, a servant!Sophie from YNI would be able to use a bastion. But not in the way it should be.
As discussed in my workshopping post, YNI heroes who have miasma (i.e., innates and artificials) would probably have their “origins” recording the heavy influence of miasma. Miasma is colloquially known as “rot” in the D.M. era, which itself can be a temporary or permanent consequence of ichor-exposure.
In those who have ichor in them, miasma is permanent. So, it is more likely and common that their ALTER forms are summoned as opposed to their ‘original forms.’ Summoning the ‘unrotten’ forms of these spirits are very rare but does not speak much of who summoned them - it is more speaking to the how the endless story of Topaxi continues.
Then comes Alter!Sophie (Sophter).
The premise of this servant is “monstrosity under the mundane,” with the themes focusing on the erasure of the self from taking on others ( “Where do ‘I’ begin and end when everything is of me is from someone else? Do ‘I’ even exist? Or am I just the ‘you’ seen with your eyes?”) At least, this is the idea that comes directly from the writing ideas that I’ve created from YNI when focusing on Sophie’s identity displaced and reworked constantly in her lifetime (be it from loved ones, surviving the war, escaping the Witch of the Waste’s clutches, etc.)
The overall idea of Sophter’s abilities is connected to the last idea much more when her body becomes a ‘receiver.’ The idea of being an tool of endless change for utility is permanent - however, it is the fact that the ‘self’ within is overlaid by granting and fulfilling the desires of others. As the YNI counterpart is able to feel and interpret ichor, which is an invisible and evermoving current, there comes the saint graph’s creation and its......faults. It mutated this ability and mindset, unable to differentiate from the other and how the person is remembered/acted in their history. Thus, exists the husk of Sophter with her decrepit philosophy in unaltered and full view.
Simply put, the warped conscious of Sophie, with miasma infuence, is what ultimately made Sophter the Avenger class.
Now, how the bastion itself resonates is that it takes the “wish” aspect and combines it with Sophie’s “fulfillment” ideal. The servant has no wish for themselves, but this changes in accordance to the levels/proper development made in the interlude.
The secondary ability would probably be called “A Promise To The World.” It says that for those whose wishes and desires are filtered/received by the avenger will be granted, no matter what. Mainly applies to the Master. Following the idea of ‘absolution’ that comes with Sophie’s original magic, it does mean that Sophter can be a relentless and ruthless opponent that will act in and out of battle to accomplish what is needed of her.
Now, the thing is, this ability does not work 100% with spoken command. If Sophter senses a discrepancy between spoken idea and the ‘true’ desire, she will act accordingly to what the heart wants. This can be a very, very detrimental obstacle for those who summon Sophter and those who summoned them may be greeted with the grim reality that the calm and, sometimes, nonchalant servant acts as a something inhuman.
Though, the master’s wishes and desires may not be synched to “A Promise to the World.” There are faults within the coding and anything strong enough (not another Master’s but an interference of a higher being) and those wishes and desire may override the Master’s.It is a very dangerous situation if the master doesn’t have a high constitution or there’s very specific situations (i.e., certain YNI characters may meddle with this...maybe someone like Kizin).
#( verse: ¿cual tu vas a ser? dentro del espejo ves; ¿algiuen más en ese cuerpo? | yni )#( verse: night air ; silver traces ; boundless breadth ; betwixt self and unknown )#( in which we learn about the eldest ; headcanons )#[ sophter sounds like 'softer' and yknow what? it's a win for me. ]

hopelesslydevotedtocc@insta about Klaine's First Time: "WHERE ARE THE OUTTAKES? 🤷♀️.Chris and Darren have 'em. Share with the fandom, boys! 😜" But nooooooooooooo, no, no - tinhats DON'T fetishize CrissColfer or gay men. They're all perfect and pure with pure intentions of supporting a loving couple dance outta the closet fabulously with nail polish and sparkly God Save the Queer t-shirts. They don't fetishize gay couples AT ALL. But give us the outtakes so we can jerk off over you both, stat!
The tin hatters have always fetishized their version of a gay relationship between two fictional characters. It’s a weird amalgamation of their Disney-Princes-fantasy version of love and stereotypes. Literally NOTHING they is real- Chris and Darren’ aren’t a couple, Darren isn’t gay, PR, closeting, bearding and even paparazzi don’t work the way they believe.
The fanfiction that went around as real mentions their “sex” scenes as being so much more.
You can read the entire post here
Then I wondered if Chris said that. He did but once again by isolating that one part, the entire context of his statement is changed.
'Glee': Chris Colfer on show's first gay sex scene
Television watchdog groups have not been kind to Glee in the past, often taking aim at the show and its stars.
So as the show prepares to air one of its most controversial episodes to date, which will find two of the show’s most popular couples having sex for the first time, star Chris Colfer (Kurt) is awaiting the inevitable.
“I absolutely expect to hear from them,” he tells EW. “But I think it’s handled very sweetly and very emotionally…They’re expecting this big, raunchy, suggestive, brainwashing storyline when really it’s very sweet.”
But it’s understandable, he says, that people would approach the episode with apprehension. He admits to experiencing some of his own when he first learned Blaine (Darren Criss) and Kurt would lose their virginity to each other. Rachel (Lea Michele) and Finn (Cory Monteith) also have sex for the first time in the episode.
“It’s funny, I always go into this instant panic state whenever they tell me about upcoming episodes because we always do so many delicate situations on the show,” he says. “But then I get the script and we shoot it and it’s always handled so well that I never really had any reason to worry about it.”
And that’s much how he anticipates others to react after seeing it on Tuesday. “It’s nothing like what my imagination built it up to be,” he says. “It was much tamer than even I was expecting. My imagination went all over the place. I think everyone is going to walk away from it wishing their first time was like that.” Frankly, he adds, “The love scene is, with all due respect to the episode and all the people behind it, I think the love scene was all physical. We don’t say anything. We kissed and rolled around a bit.”
In the past, activist groups like the Parents Television Council have been critical of the show for tackling controversial subjects. Last season the show came under fire for another sex-themed episode, where, among other things, Kurt shared a talk with his father, Burt, about gay sex. Colfer says it’s the show’s right to do so. (As for whether the moment between Kurt and Blaine is unprecedented, dramas like ABC’s Brothers and Sisters, NBC’s ER and the WB’s Buffy the VampireSlayer featured implied scenes of sexual intimacy in the past between same-sex characters.).
“Teens are having sex,” argues Colfer. “There’s not that much you can do to stop it, and we’re just showing a story about it….It’s about an experience in these teen’s lives that everyone has.”
But, he adds, the show makes it a point to address teen sex responsibly. “I think it’s promoting safe teen sex. I believe there’s lots of safe sex innuendos and mentions in the episode,” he says. “And it goes back to what Burt said when he had that sex talk last year — don’t throw yourself around. Make it matter, make it meaningful. Make sure it’s with the right person and that you don’t regret it later.”
As for Kurt and Blaine, Colfer says the experience will be anything but a regret. “I’m assuming they’ll be much happier. They’ll probably be a lot more tired,” he jokes. “But I think it brings them closer.”
Regardless what happened in the outtakes, it all goes back to the fact that NOBODY who does love scenes ever describes them as romantic. There are people everywhere and everything is scripted.

STATS ● HEADCANONS ● VERSES ● PORTRAITS ● DRABBLES ● PLAYLIST
You didn’t ask for it, but you brought it to yourself. The voices that haunt, the madness that gnaws at the remains of your sanity. You lost it all just for a little bit of fame, RECOGNITION to shake the failures of your i n v i s i b l e life. How does it feel like? To be the jester of the Court? To feel alone but have a full crowd in your mind? – - Was it worth it?
Wonderlanders were known for their madness, why everyone is mad in there. But out of all mad people, there was one that truthfully wasn’t mad from the beginning.
JOHN GREY was a lonesome man, known for walking through the ruined streets of Wonderland with his head down. His homeland was going through changes and so he thought: Why shouldn’t I change too? The Tea House, a place where emotions could be found so they said, mesmerized this man by the arrange of feelings one could take instead of your own; and he gave in. A fix of self-confidence mixed with Pink Nectar, feelings enough to make him self-esteem high and to feel like a winner; popular amongst those that drank tea like him. People knew him, traded the bottles with him and all seemed perfect… But with time and bottles, John became an addict. It took a crisis for him to be sent to the Hospital of Dreams, placed within room 412B, a room completely equipped for a comfortable stay. As all addictions have consequences when quitted, doctors noticed John began to talk while he tapped his fingertips on the table. At first they thought it was to himself but then they realized that he was hearing voices. Poor John needed attention, to be popular like before and so he got imaginary friends to combat the loneliness he once had so long ago. They thought with time his company would go away, but this never happened. At last, maybe the best thing to do was to face his addictions, one day he’d be able to move on. John was sent to the Tea House, under the watch of Hatter -who wasn’t so pleased but did it anyway-, and work there with the temptation he had to avoid at all cost… of course with his pals giving him advices.

Stockport County vs Chorley
After Stockport County suffered their first league defeat since November away at Aggborough against Kidderminster Harriers, in a match I sadly could not attend, the Hatters were looking to make things right again at home to Chorley, who County had beaten away earlier in the season.
As I got to Stockport station, the first thing noticeable to me was the police on horses walking around Edgeley, as I walked to my gran’s house. I had a ham and bacon butty at my Grandma’s before the match. I walked with my dad to Edgeley Park, who managed to get a free ticket somehow, so sat on his own in the Danny Bergara Stand. However, as we separated and I walked into the Cheadle End and I saw him go further down Hardcastle Road to the Bergara Stand, I later found out he kept walking and walking until he found himself in a pub on Castle Street and arrived later, as I caught up with friends before the match.
We did, as we always do, avoid shots at shooting practice then go upstairs to watch us shoot towards the Railway End. Old Hatter Kieran Charnock was in Chorley’s defence on the day. The first half looked as if anyone would win it, it would be the Hatters. However, there was one problem, decision making. Montrose shot in a position he shouldn’t have, Felix through on goal aimed for the top corner, instead of across goal which would’ve almost certainly resulted in an advantage to Stockport. This wasn’t to say Chorley weren’t in it. As a Play-Off hopeful, along with County, they had their attacks, but County’s defence stood strong and the Magpies never got the final touch, reducing them to extremely few shots, although their attacks looked menacing. Lloyd had a free kick which landed comfortably in goalkeeper Ritchie Branagan’s hands towards the end of the half, where he also produced a Kahn-esque save from Hampson heading straight for the top corner, to parry it out for a corner, meaning the score at the break was 0-0.
Sadly, at half time, Bridget didn’t win the half time draw, again, as she never has since they started half time draws many years ago. We knew County were capable, as we only hadn’t scored at home once all season, very early on against Kidderminster Harriers. However, it looked as if it would be two in the second half as Lloyd, as he ever does, shot when a clear pass, seen by all Cheadle Enders to Hampson out on the left would’ve been very dangerous for Chorley. Charnock was lucky to not get sent off at his old home ground, when Felix ran onto a loose ball, leaving only the goalkeeper to beat, and Charnock hacked him to the ground, resulting in referee Young giving him a yellow, prompting “boo” on a mega scale in the Cheadle End. Lloyd’s free kick nearly went in due to a deflection from the wall and a tiny scramble afterwards resulted in Branagan holding onto the ball. In stoppage time, Charnock received his second yellow after a challenge on Sefton Gonzales, who had a mixed game after winning most headers but having nobody feed off him, and walked. Jimmy Ball had a final chance to turn one point into three with a free kick which went agonisingly wide.
The Magpies had no efforts in the second half, although did enter the box a number of times, meaning the full time stats were nineteen shots to three in a nil-nil draw. The most annoying type of games. The attendance surpassed 4,000, with 266 coming from Chorley. I could not be prouder to say I’m part of my club’s incredible following. If performances like the one I saw today keep coming, with just better decision making in the final third, no team in this league will find it easy against us.

off the rack #1288
Monday, November 18, 2019
Winter arrived early this year and is here to stay. I started a project yesterday going through our photo albums and labelling them to help when we want to look for a particular picture. I ended up scanning a bunch to send to friends and family to share in a bit of nostalgia. It was fun going down memory lane.
The Immortal Hulk #26 - Al Ewing (writer) Joe Bennett (pencils) Ruy Jose (inks) Paul Mounts (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). So Bruce/Hulk has commandeered a Shadow Base site and has declared that he and his supporters are going to change the world. He spends a lot of time arguing with one potential ally while another ally listens in. Meanwhile the media paints Bruce as a terrorist and the far right go on the attack. I have an interest in current world affairs and this book reflects what is happening right now, which makes for a very interesting read. The Hulk isn't going to rampage willy nilly but has a specific target in mind.
Guardians of the Galaxy #11 - Donny Cates (writer) Cory Smith (pencils) Victor Olazaba (inks) David Curiel (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). This is a very quick read since it is mostly good guys fighting bad guys and setting up next issue's conclusion where someone saves the day.
Detective Comics #1015 - Peter J. Tomasi (writer) Doug Mahnke & Jose Luis (pencils) Christian Alamy, Keith Champagne, Mark Irwin & Matt Santorelli (inks) David Baron (colours) Rob Leigh (letters). Mister Freeze successfully resurrects his wife Nora and then throws her into the deep end of crime. I can't blame her for going off the deep end and kicking Victor to the curb. Meanwhile, Batman, Lucius and Alfred race to find a cure for the innocent victims that got frozen. Will Mister Freeze help? The art in this issue really stood out.
Event Leviathan #6 - Brian Michael Bendis (writer) Alex Maleev (art) Josh Reed (letters). The identity of Leviathan is revealed and it's no one that I know. You're going to have to Google Mark Shaw to learn more. I care more about what he and his minions are going to do next.
Runaways #27 - Rainbow Rowell (writer) Kris Anka (pencils) Kris Anka & Walden Wong (inks) Dee Cunniffe & Jim Campbell (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). The kids don costumes and head out to fight crime with Doc Justice. Cosplayers are happy.
Punisher Soviet #1 - Garth Ennis (writer) Jacen Burrows (pencils) Guillermo Ortego (inks) Nolan Woodard (colours) Rob Steen (letters). Punisher fans rejoice. This is a top notch team telling a two-fisted tale of Frank versus the Russian mob. Throw in a copycat crime fighter and I'm hooked for the rest of this 6-issue mini. Welcome back Garth.
Elfquest Stargazer's Hunt #1 - Wendy and Richard Pini (story) Sonny Strait (art) Nate Piekos (letters). The more things change, the more Elfquest stays the same. I recognised these elves immediately and decided to see what's up with them since I was really into Cutter and Skywise from the very beginning going back forty years. We catch up with Skywise in this new story. He's got a young daughter now and lives in a peaceful fairy land called Starhome. If you like pure fantasy you should give this a try
Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy #3 - Jody Houser (writer) Adriana Melo (pencils) Mark Morales (inks) Hi-Fi (colours) Gabriela Downie (letters). The girls going to the Mad Hatter for help wasn't a good idea. Jervis almost manages to control them for his own nefarious purposes. Now they're on the road again to who knows where. I'm hitching along.
Black Cat Annual #1 - Jed MacKay (writer) Joey Vazquez (art: Felicia & Peter) Natacha Bustos (art: Bruno) Juan Gedeon (art: Dr. Korpse) Brian Reber (colours) Ferran Delgado (letters). This is three separate capers rolled into one big heist. Spider-Man and the Black Cat get married in order to facilitate the robbery. I liked how everything interconnected and how Peter was conned into helping. This is one annual worth picking up.
Catwoman #17 - Joelle Jones (story & art) Laura Allred (colours) Saida Temofonte (letters). Oh man, am I ever glad I didn't bench this book when Joelle went on hiatus. When she writes and draws a book the product is far superior than most. From the cover to the very last page this issue gave me shivers. We're resuming Selina's battle with the crazy Creel woman and Catwoman is going to have a little help from a friend. I can't wait to read the next issue.
Fallen Angels #1 - Bryan Hill (writer) Szymon Kudranski (art) Frank D'Armata (colours) VC's Joe Sabino (letters). The four pages before the credits page absolutely captivated me and then the rest of the issue grabbed me by the scruff of my neck and didn't let go. I was wondering what the heck happened to Psylocke (real name Kwannon) after reading Excalibur #1 and here we have answers. She's leading a new team of mutants going after a very deadly villain by the name of Apoth. So far she's recruited Laura/X-23 and young Nathan/Cable. This title gets added to my "must read" list.
Far Sector #1 - N. K. Jemisin (writer) Jamal Campbell (art) Deron Bennett (letters). This new comic by the award winning science fiction and fantasy author introduces us to Green Lantern Mullein. She's investigating a murder in a city where three alien races co-existed peacefully until now. It's the first murder in 5 centuries in a city with 20 billion citizens. This book lost me right there with that unbelievable stat. The art is absolutely gorgeous but a rookie Green Lantern dealing with this crime is too far-fetched for me. If this were a regular detective in a regular city I might have continued reading. I just don't buy a green Green Lantern in an idyllic world.
The Dollhouse Family #1 - M. R. Carey (writer) Peter Gross (layouts) Vince Locke (finishes) Cris Peter (colours) Todd Klein (letters). This is one creepy comic book about a 19th Century dollhouse bequeathed to a little girl in England in the early eighties. There's magic involved when the girl can shrink and play with the dolls in the house. There's the mystery of where the dollhouse comes from. The creepy part is the Black Room in the house. This issue starts with a crash landing and ends with the punishment of an abusive husband. I am very intrigued.
Morbius #1 - Vita Ayala (writer) Marcelo Ferreira (pencils) Roberto Poggi (inks) Dono Sanchez-Almara (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). Michael the living vampire is back on the racks and he's still trying to cure himself of his bloodlust. This starts off with a dumb costumed mad scientist villain followed by Morbius attacking the bad guy's henchmen all to abscond with the experimental serum that might cure him. They never establish what the bad guy's serum was going to do, which made the effect on Morbius predictable at the end of this issue. The only thing that might get me to read more is the hot blonde vampire hunter who shows up and the art in this was superb.
X-Men #2 - Jonathan Hickman (writer) Leinil Francis Yu (pencils) Gerry Alanguilan (inks) Sunny Gho (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). Boy, Jonathan Hickman isn't coasting with these mutants. First (spoiler alert) he kills off a major character and now he's adding even more intrigue with a mating of Krakoa and another island. All mutants, good and not so good, were brought together on Krakoa but I always wondered when the not so good ones would start to do not so good things. Apocalypse steps to the fore here. I liked how Cyclops and his kids behaved during their mission to explore the new island.
The Batman's Grave #2 - Warren Ellis (writer) Bryan Hitch (art) Alex Sinclair (colours) Richard Starkings (letters). The art does most of the heavy lifting with nary a caption or word balloon in the first 12 pages. Bryan's pages looked great. Warren then weighs in with a summons for Batman from Commissioner Gordon using the Bat signal. A crooked lawyer has been murdered. I like when Batman plays detective.
Future Foundation #4 - Jeremy Whitley (writer) Alti Firmansyah (art) Triona Farrell (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). Can the kids keep evil Reed from getting a piece of the Miracle Man? Looks like it. But wait, there's more. Next issue's conclusion to this story should be just as exciting as this one.
Joker: Killer Smile #1 - Jeff Lemire (writer) Andrea Sorrentino (art) Jordie Bellaire (colours) Steve Wands (letters). I'm always willing to try a new book when I see Jeff Lemire's name in the credits because he usually manages to entertain me. I'm not a big fan of the clown prince of crime especially after the Joker became darker and started to kill people. This is the story of Doctor Ben Arnell, a psychologist trying to cure the Joker after the killer's most recent incarceration in Arkham Asylum. It's a story of mind games where a good man finds himself succumbing to the influence of evil. This is another good DC Black Label book worth reading.

The Witchwood: Functional Reveals
It’s time for neutral rares and Epics. These cards generally have a function, and often that function is functional. But sometimes, it is dysfunctional.
Chief Inspector is here to inspect all your chiefs! And also remove secrets, I suppose. Anti-secret cards have never really taken off, but it’s important to have some way to answer them. Ultimately, this is more of a pressure valve than a card.
Lifedrinker is one of those cards that is there. It does some damage, and restores some health. But it doesn’t really do either particularly well, leading to a minion that will mostly see play via random generation. It’s also not that great as a Build-a-Beast option, although it does get much better as a healer if you can combine it with Lifesteal.
Mad Hatter randomly buffs minions instead of bombing them. How nice! This is just about okay if your opponent’s board is clear, but otherwise it’s very risking. Hurting your own minions is bad enough, but making enemy minions stronger is all kinds of terrible.
Night Prowler is a bit like Lone Champion, if Lone Champion was rather bad. Getting the stat boost requires specific trading, or a symmetrical board wipe. This ends up making Night Prowler not an option for some classes, and other classes have better choices to follow a board clear with. Following a Doomsayer is probably the best use for this, but Doomsayer and big minions generally don’t hang out in the same decks.
Baleful Banker is a neutral Manic Soulcaster. Get extra copies of Legendary minions, or other powerful minions. Also, delay fatigue for an extra turn. This might be good in decks specifically tuned for it, such as Shudderwock based insanity, but outside of that niche, Baleful Banker isn’t that amazing.
Sandbinder is another Epic tutor card. Although with dumpy stats like that, it doesn’t look that playable, so it’s probably not going to drive up the cost of Elemental decks. It’s still a scummy move, on par with Twilight Guardian, and should be condemned. Boo! Hiss!
Well, there’s only one thing left to cover - neutral commons. The bargain bin of pack filler, Arena fodder, and the occasion decent minion. Also a great time to complain about Adventures being removed just so we can have another expensive Taunt minion.

Sick.
Will the Pope be able to fit all that gay hate into 140 characters or will there be space for an attack on condoms and women
— Darren(@DarnEther) December 3, 2012
Really? This coming from people who gay-bait and bash constantly. And lady parts peddling, of course: See, the pope totally hates women, what with all that trying to protect them from being killed in the womb. Monster! Another thing that the haters don’t understand; the pope loves them, no matter what they say or do, and always will.
Haters, heal thyselves.

SOPHIE HATTER’S STATS SHEET
( expansion from this post )
Magical Ability
User Type: Innate - born with the ability to channel magic flow, unlocks Talent category.
TALENT
Sense:
(Main) [READCTED] - Something defiant and free-willing against the divine, the natural, and unnatural, that is mankind. Something unavowed -- a worldly detriment -- by mankind but one of its earliest creations, that is fate.
Your existence is of their kind, your placement in life made by their mechanism. A negation to humanity’s defining trait, a designation crafted by their lineage and demands, you are predestinated as a failure.
Ordinary, you are. Unremarkable, you are. Worthless, you are. Insignificant, you are. Associations you begrudge and swallow, these words that bind and balk. Drinking the poison like its the blood of Christ, this manmade torture on your spirit is gospel. ( But, this.... ) This trait, this skill, this curse, this thing, existing by chance, decided by nothing, and breaking the imaginary, it is not you; you incubate it. A hole within your code allows for this inhabitation. No matter how unordinary, remarkable, useful, and significant it is, that does not reflect you. This power does not make you any more whole, nor add to the being you are. There is no correlation or reason for why it is you. But, all you can do is bear it.
A ironically matched pair; one burdened by obligations, who self-flagellated in adherence this world’s theoretically sound yet truly fragile laws, desecrating yourself when inopportune reproach strikes and the bile of reality reached you throat. The other, seed of infinitude without purpose, that hadn’t needed command or laws for regulation and order weren’t there, for its containment was not possible or conceivable.
You, who rather wither into obscurity, You, who rather defang herself, yet still would bite, You, who rather restrict herself with flimsy conditionals, You, who rather dismiss herself in the face of pointless traditions, however, now defied all of that. Defied fate, defied mankind, defied unnatural, defied natural, and defied divines, all matter and ideas that were relative. Why?
For you create absolution. Regardless, you are insufferably adamant in spirit alone. Resilience and relentlessness are your nature.
(Subskill) Codex Tamoanchan - Besides the inherent ability for all innates to understand sigils (and any symbols created directly by ichor), the user’s oral orifice enables them to a higher level of speech.
This ability grants Sophie natural, yet uncanny, understanding of languages both current and dead. She is considered an translator of all if she is able to collect any direct contact with it -- like reading scriptures or hearing conversations. ( She may also mimic sounds and voices )
The definition of language is made by humankind by exchange their creations and this does not limit Sophie. This is a lesser degree for her, but she is also able to “hear” and “speak” ichor. But it sounds unhuman and cannot be replicated by humans normally. Exception made for the one whose voice is literally magic.
(Subskill) Auexsia’s Gift - Power of her voice influences all, but there is a benefit for living matter, especially plants. Directing any speech towards flora, and with the charge of her emotions, they will tend to absorb the ichor produced by her voice and mutate/grow. Drawbacks from the ability include that plants may be drawn towards her and may act on their craving slowly; the ichor itself can be addicting for these life forms and overexposure may result in increased competition, which harms neighboring and smaller plants (as one example).
Awakening: 3rd/Final Awakening. Mastery: B~S Potency: S++ Willpower: S~???
( Note: Ability is always ‘activated’ due to third awakening status. Meaning, the potency is at an all time high and cannot be broken. Only through active repression can do so, which Sophie has done in her youth unknowingly. )
DISCIPLINE
Magic System:
Teotl, modern - Topaxi’s official magic system, adapted language from original civilization of Topaxi. Learning bypassed learning due to being innate.
Teotl, original - Ancient teotl system adapted from tonal, the Nahwal’s system of magic. While it is considered a dead language, her subskill bypasses this difficulty. She is much closer to understanding the source than one may assume.
Innate - Magical by fact that ichor naturally flows through her and has created a channel. Specific region is her mouth/tongue.
Specialty:
Illusionary magic - Specifies to glamor. Achievable because of learning both teotl systems. Prioritizes modern teotl system for simple reworks of her physical form. Teaches glamor through use of modern teolt system as if she were an acquired/magus.
Due to innate skill and knowing original teotl system, her glamor is advanced/allows her to specialize and layer it.
While she doesn’t talk about her curse, and doesn’t know this about her curse, her previous curse actually benefited her greatly when it comes to glamor. Though, that impacts more her ability to literally shift herself without strain or miasma; she is not limited to her human form. However, because of the curse, she is capable of shifting easier between appearances and scrutinizing areas that she wishes to change. It does not require spoken and written spell to activate.
Commandment magic - Unique to her. This is a way to describe her magic, but not a truly complete label for it. If anything, it is a possibility granted by her main ability and not limited to this dynamic. Applicable to self, living subjects, nonliving subjects, and without needing a presence before her, the words woven by her tongue takes precedence over the cycle of destiny, autonomy, and any variable known to this world and the imaginary laws that govern it.
The best way to describe it is anything she says becomes set it stone, or will happen, and it is up to her design. Small and simple words like “Move” would work, causing (for example) a chair to scoot to the side, or for an unknown force to push someone aside. Of course, the strength and affect the phrases have is linked with her emotions.
Linguistically speaking, imperative and declarative sentences usually activate this magic. It does work outside of these sentences, mind you.

Comments: Mundane and powerless, the pedestrian self that the Sorceress long defined herself to be is not compatible with reality. From the teachings, it made her this way. From the works, she’d rather disappear than face truth. How long will this last? How long until power and emotions will crack her lie of a life and spawn into its horrific true form?
When will the real Sophie Hatter emerge from underneath the rubble and ash of her past?

( PERSONA )
BACKGROUND: she first awakens her persona during her rendezvous with the hands of death. strong fear grips her to her core but that is also when she finds out she holds a malicious darkness within her that brings out happiness, an unsightly glee at the thought of her crooked family dying - at the thought of freedom. it is that darkness which brings upon her persona, mad hatter, a character of the twisted tales of lewis carroll. she is as jarring as the character perhaps, playful and snarky, all too hyper one second but serious all the next as she goes on to speak foreboding words. is calamity what awaits? nobody can tell when the giggles from the woman speak of nothing factitious.
ABILITY/ABILITIES :
insanity projection - the ability to alter reality by projecting her own insanity and darkness upon reality. it is usually a twisted imagery caused by the nightmares of her mind that brings beings to life that are bound to her will or causing what appears to be a normal room to shift around into an obstacle course like situation where everything appears to defy gravity.
insanity inducement - by speaking, she has the ability to compel with her sweet voice and the victims are unable to disobey because the thought is simply so compelling it twists the functions of their brain. this can include simple things as altering belief, manipulating lies into truths, altering logic and intuition through what appears to be a form of hypnosis. given the right words, she can even compel murder and drive one insane.
negation - the ability to nullify magical attacks and render them useless. it doesn’t matter if they are on the offensive or defensive side, as long as the opponent activates their magical ability, her persona is able to “eat” the attack thereby making it appear as if it never existed in the first place.
WEAKNESSES :
insanity projection - the downside of insanity projection is that while she has a general idea as to what may appear from her imagination, it all depends on the mood she is currently in. the stronger her sadistic side arises or the stronger her madness is, the stronger the ability is. this ability is ironically a counter of her other one, her mind should not be stable for it to activate - which a lot of the time in battle it admittedly is not.
insanity inducement - the biggest fallacy is that she is in need of a voice and the person listening must be able to understand her. as long as she cannot make any sounds or the other cannot hear, this ability is effectively blocked. it also takes time as no conversations simply occur in seconds, so she must not be distracted and the other must not be distracted either, therefore complex commands usually take longer than simple commands. she must also choose her words carefully for those with lower knowledge or are too intelligent will require different vocabulary to fall into her clutches.
negation - she is still susceptible to physical attacks and mental attacks (though mental attacks may only further strength insanity projection). if a person is more powerful than she is, then they may be able to immobilize her persona briefly while it is negating the magical attack which will further render her defenseless for that short while.

— BACKGROUND
an age old superstition, the huang family has never seemed to have any good luck with the twins born into their household. calamity befalls the household soon after every time two shrill cries break the tense atmosphere of birth and it is no surprise that it almost becomes a must for the mother to die through the labour and leave a rancorous father behind. somewhere, it soon became a custom to banish the twins by throwing them into the fray of adoption as if the implication was that if the twins were to be cursed, then at least let them curse others - which they never do since silly tales are simply silly but all stories hold power the longer they exist. somewhere as fear instills itself, everything becomes much too painfully real.
lijuan and liling are two girls born into the huang family, the former trickling a few minutes ahead of the other. immediately the world around them whispers of defilement, curses and mutters repeated mantras of warding chinese spells for protection. but these twins would not be the same as all the other twins which had passed through. for one, their mother does not slip away into the afterlife seconds after but instead nurses them both all the way until the three of them are discharged from the family. the second is that for all their grandparents ramble on and on about how the two are rats to be discarded, their parents do not listen.
at first. but it soon becomes a clear as the babies turn into toddlers and then into a young child, there is something about liling that unsettles most. a shadow to her sister’s light, a quiet to her sister’s yell, a silent shivering stare unlike the bright movements of her sister - she lingers with an air that leaves others uncomfortable. rumours spread after the sudden death of a family friend’s precious dog, that it was because she had played with him during the dinner party that he had fallen into the darkness without any warning. the rumours are further spread when a neighbourhood boy who takes interest in the girl falls ill. somewhere between the hush of night and the cracks of dawn, a suggestion is made to kill her.
her parents don’t quite make it that far – they lock her up instead in the room that was once shared with her sister and moves lijuan their sunlight child to somewhere bigger, somewhere better. she is a flower that wilts in the passage of time, a locked door only slipped open occasionally to feed her or let her out to go to the washroom – eventually they simply makeshift a washroom for her so that she only sees them during meals. she is to waste away in her filth and if she is to cry or complain, she finds harsh fists smacking against naked skin until she no longer even has the energy to scream through gritted teeth. there are barred windows that make her wonder if it is to truly stop her from escaping than to stop strangers from falling into their misfortune around her.
the old man never gives her a reason but she comes to have a hunch eventually. the girl doesn’t know whether to call it misfortune or fortune when libration arrives one evening. the world outside her door is unusually quiet and dinner does not come at the usual time. she is hushed breath, held breath as her door slams open, blood and decay marking itself like a tattoo upon her skin in a momentary splatter as she comes to realise she has been taken to a time that does not belong to mortals. young round eyes cast themselves upon a stranger who raises cold metal to press upon her forehead. she should await death, but her blood boils further and pain scorches itself into her features a second away from the trigger being pulled. in that moment, in the cry for the persona called mad hatter, she comes to know that her family’s fall is her rise. she immediately scampers onto her knees, begging the hitman, the savior to offer her a new life away from the hellhole that is her home. away from the stupidity that has chained her for so long.
that night, she comes to learn how to smile again. that night the girl known as huang liling also dies. there is only a twelve-year-old girl with the new name mei tiangyi, who is flown from her home back in sichuan to daegu, korea into the mafia world where the man belongs. here she is a rough stone ready to be polished until she glistens into a sparkling diamond. here she learns how to fight, how to speak the tongue of many worlds, how to lose the one emotion known as love which binds the fallacy of humanity. here she learns how to kill kill kill, a wolf leaking savage hunger would catch no rabbit nor would he be able to sneak underneath the nose of a bear. here she becomes elusive and charming, but also merciless and cold, an abominable smile upon her face when adrenaline rushes through her veins with each target she hits.
it becomes play and with each game she learns her next steps. agonizingly slow but the benefits which were reaped outnumber the losses she has sown upon the soil of her life. when the two of them move to seoul on a mission. she is sixteen, she poses as a bright-eyed, friendly and extroverted young woman helping her adopted family with their flower shop. kindness and playfulness becomes another facade, the aunties in the neighborhood joke about the flower girl with the softest smile that causes the sunflowers to turn away from the sun to her. nobody knows about the girl hidden behind the mask living in the world of the dead, silence befallen, all serious with clouded eyes and the madness within as she dyes herself in crimson, stains her hands over and over again. it’s a lifestyle.
she loses her mentor in a freak accident at the age of eighteen brought on by a cascade of timings which just happen to be too perfect. even a tamed dog will bite its owner when given the chance and the scatters of ink in many books speak of countless beloved daughters taking out their own father. but nobody thinks of the seemingly loyal girl who weeps at the grave of a corpse less casket. they call her antigone instead while mad hatter is gleeful in her snickering within.
with that she makes the exit from her mafia life, enough power within that nobody actually dares to stop her. the next step is an interesting one, it is a spur of the moment decision that has her knocking on the footsteps of the law enforcement that once chased her down so mercilessly. sweet words, a nicely wrapped tale later and they believe her to have joined the good side. they make her one of them.
it’s hard to tell if she truly has become one who walks alongside the words of justice or if she has other thoughts within but she only does things which aids the task force. some are weary, some have put endless trust within her and it is evident when soon enough she is crawling her way up the ladder to success. though she is twenty-four she has proved herself to be a more than capable leader of the ADA. it would certainly be a bad idea to go against her, after all.
