ok actually like insane that people think its even remotely ok to joke that straight women deserve to be treated with violence and hatred bc they make obvious jokes about straight men AND THEN NON CISHET PPL SAYIN THEY DONT UNDERSTAND STRAIGHT WOMEN OR RELATIONSHIPS LIKE GIRL... !!!!
lgbt ppl hear straight n they immediate lose every feminist/leftist bone in their body. like god.
yes straight women still havr more privilege compared to lgbt people esp when theyre white but the fact remains that the patriarchy is rampant on our society and women still are murdered for being women esp if they had turned down the wrong violent incel
a woman saying "a man being pushed easily by a wave is an ick lol" as an obvious joke does not warrant violent harm and misogyny. even if it WASNT a joke women do not deserce violent harm and misogyny. saying they do even if u mean it as a joke or saying it as a lgbt person is incredibly harmful .
if you consider yourself a feminist but agree with this abovr statement even if as a jokr u rly need to look at your values n rethink the roots of feminism and the power of the patriarchy.

I feel the need to periodically remind people that Idiocracy is a eugenics movie.
One of the things that eugenicists believe is that it is bad for society when the “wrong people” breed.
The entire premise of the movie is that “stupid people” kept having kids while “smart people” didn’t have kids, and it ruined society because stupid genes propagated while smart genes died out. This is eugenics propaganda.
I know people will read this and their response will be “actually it’s satire” but the movie isn’t satirizing eugenics. It’s satirizing anti-intellectualism, and consumerism, and it proposes eugenics as a solution.
When eugenics was first conceived, it was used as a way to justify inequality. The idea was that people who held privilege were able to do so because they were smarter and genetically superior to lazy and stupid people who don’t have privilege. Obviously this is bad and wrong, but it is also the core lesson of Idiocracy.
The movie literally ends with the main character becoming president and having “the smartest children in the world.” Because he and his wife have smarter genes than everyone else. The proposed solution for the things that Idiocracy is satirizing is for the smart people to have children that can be in charge of the world.
I know it’s fun to use this movie to dunk on anti-intellectualism and the MAGA movement, but we need to stop. When you quote and reference this movie you are spreading eugenics propaganda.

"transandrophobia isn't real bc men aren't oppressed for being men, only for other marginalizations they face"
okay well i am a brown disabled trans masc person and i'm telling you i DO experience oppression on the basic of being what ppl perceive as me "being a man."
what is it when Black men are treated like violent, scary criminals? it's racism, yes, but it's also a specific form of racism that applies especially to Black MEN.
what is it when Indigenous men are expected to be "noble s*vages" in a way that is distinct from the way Indigenous women and nonbinary ppl are categorized?
what is it when disabled men are explicitly harmed for being weak or "not real men?" what is it called? is it JUST ableism? if so, why does gender continuously play a part in the harm?
what is it when trans men are assaulted or killed for not being "man enough?" what do we get to call transphobia that we, specifically, face for being masculine?
what about my fellow Black and brown trans dudes who hesitated to transition for fear of being fucking killed by cops? or are they just imagining it too?
why is it that when WE acknowledge our pain and oppression, we're suddenly just men and apparently aren't smart enough to know our own experiences? why do you get to tell me these things aren't real?
y'all will really talk about how patriarchy hurts everyone and then turn around and tell afab ppl whose genders you think are too privileged to sit down and be quiet. as if we didn't hear that from everyone else in our lives since birth. as if this isn't aimed at us SPECIFICALLY bc we're not the group YOU think deserves safety and respect. fuck you.

I've seen people say terf rhetoric is any hatred of men and I've seen people say terf rhetoric is anything transphobic said by anyone. the refusal to actually engage with the reality that terfism is primarily focused on oppressing trans women is in itself a form of transmisogyny. yes they hate all trans people, but it is quite easy to see who they primarily target with their words, actions and policies, you just don't want to care about trans women. claiming someone is a man hater doesn't mean you get to call them a terf or a radfem, thats an obvious, willfull dilution and denial of what terfs are.

I'm seeing a lot of "ugh, so we can't even criticize fic authors anymore?" posts popping up on here and the ao3 subreddit and I just want to say, for the record: No one's saying you can't criticize (fanfic) authors publicly. They're saying it's rude and antithetical to positive fandom experience. And, yes there's a difference.
If this website was a conference and I had just spent a whole afternoon listening to a presentation on [unpopular fic trope] and after that was done, I got up on stage and very publicly told the audience that [unpopular fic trope] was illogical and anyone who writes it is woefully misinformed and should be banned from writing [relevant character], that would in fact be a dick move.
"But the canon character would never--" it doesn't matter. You're shouting down the hall at the person who just happily did a whole seminar on their OOC version of that character. "But I don't like that the author chose to make them--" good, you're well-acquainted with your likes and dislikes, time to find another fic.
We all run into fics and interpretations we don't like. But there's a huge difference between loudly talking about it on Tumblr where the author can see it, and just venting in a private discord or other group. Also, gentle reminder that this is a hobby for most writers and something they do purely because they enjoy it. Stop being massive dicks just because you feel entitled to a certain flavor of fanfiction you will probably be chasing until the Reformation of Krypton.

shouto is absolutely, 100% the type to have what you deem to be the ugliest picture of you and cherish it. he'd have it as his home screen and everything and deem it worthy of being hung up in a gallery. you tell him to change it when you see it immediately and he looks so utterly shocked and confused. he quickly denies it when you say it doesn't look very flattering. seriously too, face hardening a bit when he shakes his head and some strands fall close to his eyes.
"no, i like it." and just for safe measures he looks at his screen again and nods to himself afterwards "you look beautiful. you always do."
yeah, you're not so sure about that, but you unfortunately don't have much of a choice. your boyfriend is a sweetheart but god could he be stubborn..
