***I’d also like to thank @grimtamlain-writes for being my beta reader.
****Here’s a little fic to cheer us up in light of what’s unfolding in season 8. I’m still just watching the Eo clips so I’m just going to stick to my writing and nothing else because I simply do not know what to do with the current plot (?). I’m still on hiatus due to school, but this and a few completed drafts were just sitting around. I have one more chapter to finish for the Wells-Thawne family (that I’ve been procrastinating) but that section of four chapters will be released once i finish the forth chapter before getting started on the next chapter installment for the series.

MASTERLIST
“Well, don’t you look nice in red,” you whispered into the empty room, materializing from the shadows in a fit of darkness. You couldn’t help but eye the Scarlet Speedster in the Cortex. Eobard’s breath hitched as he abruptly twisted his head to the sound of your voice. His tensed shoulders relaxed. You sent him a little wave with wiggling fingers. You were perched on top of a side table, one leg over the other and that cheshire-like grin plastered on your face. Both your hands were pressed on the table, propping yourself up as you had no support for your back. “All noble and dignified in that suit. A true hero,” you continued to tease him. "Isn't that right, Flash?"
It was Eobard’s turn to smirk, his heart warming in his chest significantly at the sight of you. He ran a hand through his slightly mused hair as the speedster approached you. You uncrossed your legs while the ‘hero’ loomed over you. “You shouldn’t be here,” the genius murmured teasingly, already wrapping his arms around you gingerly and slotting himself between your legs. You snuggled into his arms, pressing your face into his chest and breathing him in. You shut your eyes as you savored this moment with him. “The others will get ideas, Shadow Weaver.” Eobard’s grip tightened around you, placing sweet kisses on top of your head. He could get drunk off your company alone; the idea that you came this far with him, for him, out of love had the speedster thoroughly smitten. It’s not like Eobard would ever grow tired of you or the adoration he saw behind the fire in your eyes. One day, I’ll take you far away and we can live the life we’ve dreamed off, my little bird.
Even though you saw Eobard two days ago, the situation had been different, drastically different. This whole plan still gnawed at you; he had killed Barry Allen as a child in this temporary reality all the while taking up Barry’s place as The Flash… and as Iris West’s fiancé. All of this in order to siphon off speed from the Speed Force until the time point is corrected and when Barry would show up, he would be unmistakably heartbroken with dread. You knew it was a charade and you understood Eobard’s intentions as well as having faith in him. But seeing her by his side always felt like a sharp knife to your gut, twisting and twisting, even though Eobard had made it blatantly clear that he would never touch Iris the way he touches you. He would never choose her because he had you. You were always his endgame.
“Let them,” you muttered, shifting back to meet his eyes dead on. You laid your hands against his firm chest. “We won’t be in this reality for much longer anyway.” We’re almost done here. I can hold out for a little longer.
Eobard’s eyes ran over you, a glint of worry in them as his tongue clicked at your bandaged arms. He couldn’t help himself, his fingers moved to hold them in his gloveless hands. Instinctively, your body flinched away slightly from his touch. Eobard furrowed his brows as something dark stirred in his soul. His eyes caught sight of the bandages peaking the collar of your shirt and his jaw set. With one hand, the speedster brushed your cheek with his knuckles. “How are you feeling?”
“Better, although I think you handled me a bit too roughly over in our last staged fight. I just have a mild headache and some pain here and there.”
“I’m sorry.” The speedster took your head and leaned down, gently kissing your injured limbs. Eobard noticed how your body tensed up under his touch. His thumb gently rubbed the edge of the wrapping. “I hadn’t calculated Iris breaching to the fight. I should have cut the comms before heading to the warehouse.” To his chagrin, Iris came to your ‘fight’ with the genius speedster and shot at you multiple times regardless of his warnings for her to stay back. Eobard couldn’t care less about her safety, but Iris was one of the keys to Reverse Flashpoint. You tried to not hurt the journalist with your powers, if only to get her to stop shooting at you to flee with your Shadow Step. The speedster let out a sigh before resting his forehead on your uninjured shoulder as another apology fell from his lips. “I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you.”
“Hey, look at me,” you cupped the villain’s face in your hands, confidence bolstered your words. “I’m ok, I am more than capable of protecting myself even if you’re around. Was the situation less than tasteful? Yes, but I’m still in one piece. I’m still here and we’re seeing this through to the end so we can get back to you beating the living hell out of Barry and me watching from the sidelines with some popcorn.”
You planted a sweet kiss to his lips, one he returned sensually. “Just a few more days and we’ll be in a permanent timeline,” Eobard mused as he dipped his head a little, his mind already re-evaluated every course of action with Team Flash. They wouldn’t turn on him, not with how easily he has them ensnared in his script for the final act. “Barry showed up at the little ceremony.”
“I know, I was watching from the upstairs balcony.”
“Nothing slips past you, does it?”
“Not when you’re involved, my love,” you giggled as Eobard nuzzled into your neck, placing a few chaste kisses on your skin. You hugged him closer as electricity from the computers in the Cortex continued to hum. “I’ll be keeping Barry preoccupied the next few days. Put on a little show, have him second guess everything and teeter towards the edge.” I wonder what he’ll see the more he uses the Negative Speed Force.
“Such a clever little bird,” Eobard remarked smugly, kissing your lips  “Everything’s going just as planned, naturally. We took it all from him. All I need is for whatever speed is left of the Speed Force to sync with my body before converting to Negative Speed Force particles.” We’ll be evenly matched once more in a few days.
You couldn’t help but avert your gaze from your fiancé. Your mouth moved, articulating your thoughts. “...I’m still not happy about Iris being around you nearly 24/7.”
“I’m not exactly enthused about it either,” Eobard agreed, shaking his head to himself as your gaze locked back with his. There was always such sincerity in his eyes when he spoke to you. “Or the fact that you’ll be by Barry’s side when he chooses to attack. I want his world to shatter all around him just as he had done to me. Things aren’t what they seem in this… reversal of events, to him, but it’s everything that I’ve strung together with the pieces at my disposal. I want him to break before he realizes that Damian’s the key to changing the timeline permanently. Our game of chess is not over.”
You let out a little sigh, dancing your fingers over his shoulders before loosely locking your arms around his neck. Eobard kept his hands on your sides. “Just… promise me when we get back we’ll take some time away from here,” you commented, knowing that he can sense the exhaustion you were feeling from living in Reverse Flashpoint for so long with him in order for things to go his way.
“I was thinking about that earlier when I was sitting at the last meeting with the others. I know you’ve been wanting to tour the Maldives.”
“You remember that?” You simply cocked an eyebrow at his oddly specific suggestion.
“Yes, of course I remember,” the speedster responded softly.
“It’s just I talked about that when we were…” You trailed off, biting your lip and dropping your gaze. That was so long ago.
Your murder speedster husband cupped your face, bringing your eyes to meet his icy blue ones. Eobard knew exactly what you were thinking. “What?”
“I remember when the two of us were planning things out seven years ago. You’d take me back and… we’d have that small wedding and have our honeymoon traveling to multiple islands. We’d explore everything, it would just be us and the open sea.” The genius scientist remained silent as he heard the slight ache in your voice. Seven years had passed and the two of you hadn’t been any closer to doing the things the two of you had discussed. You continued, “I know to a speedster seven years isn’t much, but it seemed like a lifetime for me. I just really miss you…”
“I know.” I couldn’t be there with you for a majority of time. Trying to outrun being erased or being executed. We could have had it all if Allen had just saved his mother and allowed us to go to my time. All that time, wasted. Time… And for that, I swear on my life that I’ll make up for every second that passed us. “Come on,” Eobard reeled himself back before tugging one of your hands for you to jump off the table. Your body protested at the sudden movement, an ache running through your nervous system.
“Where are we going?”
“Out, we’re going to get some of your favorite sushi and snacks and stay up all night by the fire until the sun comes up.”
“Wait, what about your whole plan with Team Flash? And Iris?”
“That can all go to hell.”
“But Barry-”
“With Allen sulking around I have no more use for Team Flash and Iris at the moment,” the Wells doppelganger explained, his hand giving your hand a gentle squeeze as he looked down at you with a certain glint in his eyes. You saw the bits of longing and adoration behind those eyes as he looked at you solemnly. “I just want to spend some time with you before we run from this time point.”
***
“One hundred and thirty pieces of sushi at your service,” Eobard announced, striding into your bedroom with three large-sized party platters of various sushi stacked on top of one another. The speedster also bought you some gyoza, crab rangoons, and takoyaki. You couldn’t help the little gasp you made and the giddy smile on your face. You set your phone to the side and pressed out the spare, old towel from it’s creases. You were sitting cross-legged on your plush bed with multiple napkins positioned by the glass plates. Eobard could literally see sparkles in your eyes and he had to stop himself from chuckling at how cute you looked right now.
What can I say? I’m a simple girl, food makes me happy. Along with books and other things that I indulge greatly in. I am not ashamed to be honest. “You really know how to spoil a girl,” you felt your mouth watering as you opened up one container. You chopsticks were at the ready while your speedster genius got his plate and chopsticks. “I’ve been waiting for this moment for centuries.”
Did she just use my line?
The dark-haired man could only cock an ironic eyebrow at you as you started digging in .The two of you ate in comfortable silence, you were on your phone while Eobard was flipping through for either Criminal Minds or the Discovery Channel. Setting his plate down on his lap, Eobard glanced at you due to the different audios that he heard. “Are you on that stupid clock app again?”
“What? It’s entertaining, plus it helps pass the time.”
“As in ‘pass the time when you’re not around’. Right?”
You rolled your eyes at his accusation while trying to mock your voice. “I’m neither confirming nor denying that statement.”
“You don’t have to, that wicked smile of yours says it all,” the genius nudged you with his shoulder to which you nudged back. You couldn’t help but drop the serious demeanor you adorned to grin cheerily at Eobard. The speedster helped clean up, putting the sushi in smaller containers to fit in the fridge while you tidied up the room. A thought crossed your mind as Eobard re-entered the room and shut the door. You were already under the cool covers, freshened up for bed in your pajamas as your index finger played with your pillow case. In a torrent of gold lightning, Eobard was all done and making his way out of the bathroom to climb into bed with you. The speedster had his arms around your waist, hugging you close as he nudged his head to rest on your chest. You carded your fingers through his silky hair and took in little breaths through your nose. The dark-haired genius shut his eyes as he listened intently to your heart beat. Cuddling like this always calmed his chaotically racing mind. He's running his hands over your back, sending a shiver down your spine. Eobard planted a kiss on your collarbone, causing you to giggle quietly before clearing your throat. The whispered words at the back of your mind tugged at your heartstrings.
“Eo?”
“Hm?”
“I’m scared.”
“Of what?”
The genius speedster pull away to look at you with curious eyes, he can sense the small flickering flame of worry in you. “When we go back to this new ‘corrected’ timeline, I don’t want Barry to separate us again.”
“They won’t,” the speedster murmured, the pads of Eo’s finger’s rubbed little circles on your back, “I’ll be damned if they take you away from me.”
You couldn’t help but respond with a small nod, but there was that nagging feeling at the pit of your stomach. Something unsettled you as the engagement ring on your necklace felt heavier. Your eyes drifted to see that Eobard was wearing his engagement ring on a necklace around his neck too. Not the faux one he had given to Iris, no. Eobard had hand crafted your ring and his years ago, something you secretly wore under your tops and shirts through the years. “You sure this will work?”
“It will. It has to. I’ve... run out of fast options that doesn’t include a speed drug. Barry’s becoming more and more like his future self, but I can still see the same boy from seven years ago. Confused and hurt. His connection to his Speed Force has gotten stronger, I’m merely using that to my advantage in this temporary time point.”
“.... What if something goes wrong? Then what?”
“I’ll adapt, I always do.” I have to, I have to fulfill my destiny and I cannot do that without you.
“I don’t want you to die again, Eo,” you whispered, almost in a pleading tone, running your fingers through his dark hair.
“I won’t, they’d have to take my speed and you away to seal my fate. To take my life.” Eo shifted himself as you pressed your lips into a thin line. He cupped your face gingerly. “What? What’s that look for?”
“I’m thinking.”
“What’s that beautiful mind thinking of?”
Your thoughts were falling right out of your mouth, allowing for your insides to churn with the notions your mind was conjuring. “I’m wondering how would your body react if your speed was taken away. What kind of toll it would have if Barry somehow found a way to sever you from the Negative Speed Force permanently. Barry was weak six years ago when he gave his speed to Zolomon, but you... yours is different than his.
Eo sucked in a little breath, his mind reluctantly contemplating such an outcome. It was something he thought of from time to time, should Barry advance enough to commit to that path. Swallowing thickly, the villain responded, “I wouldn’t be able to move much. It would take my much much longer to heal compared to Barry. It... would be hard to breathe. My mind would still be intellectually fast due to being a natural genius, but...” I would be a hallow shell of a man. He trailed off, not wanting to finish or tempt the thought that that outcome would be what his life could resort to. Speedless and alone.
“You’re not allowed to die,” you gave him a hard kiss, emphasizing your words and cupping his face to look at you. “You hear me? You’re not allowed to leave me like last time. You’re not allowed to lose yourself, to lose your speed.”
“You’re not allowed to die either,” Eobard couldn’t help but smirk at the blossoming determination on your face, a cute little and unyielding frown. “You’re not allowed to leave my side. You’re not allowed to give up on us.”
Deep down something inside you still stirred, but with the way that Eobard looked at you. The adoration in his simple touches, it had you feeling a bit reassured. “I love you.”
“And I love you, my little songbird.”

“One Of The Same” Harrison Eo Wells x reader
Author’s note: this is some unpublished work I hadn’t posted before and I found it and I hope you all like it.

Tumblr media
Barry sped us through time, seeing various fragments of it in a second, trying to locate our destination. We made it to the day Hartley had attacked and according to Barry this was the perfect opportunity for us to find my doppelgänger first and knocked her out of the way. I had decided to come with him, neither Harry or i trusting that he could convince Thawne he was the Barry from his time. I had never met the man, only hearing stories about him when Barry felt like sharing enough information about him, but that gave me an advantage, a neutral ground to be of use or at least Harry seemed to think so.
We took care of my doppelgänger first before setting out to find the flash front his time, taking care of him was easy and once he was taken care of we made our way to Star labs. I had stolen a few pieces of clothes from my double to wear and blend in; I needed to be very careful with my words, I was not only still unfamiliar with the team, I was also not from this Earth, I could easily slip out and blow our cover.
Once inside the labs Barry set up to his mission, finding a way to get Wells or Thawne’s help with the speed equation; I was supposed to keep Caitlin and Cisco distracted enough to leave Wells alone long enough for Barry to figure out his plan. They were happily unaware of who I was, or better yet who I wasn’t, but time was running and Barry wasn’t back, the tranquilizer we had given our doubles would wear off in around 24 hrs.
Barry received a text from Iris, apparently she needed his help in some science business and even as I tried to pull him away and to focus on his mission, to him any Iris of any timelines would always be a priority and this was proven when he left me alone at the labs.
I had settle myself in an empty workshop while I waited for Barry to return, trying to stay out of the way hoping I wouldn’t have to see him, I hadn’t encountered him yet and I was thankful for it, I didn’t know anything about the man, I didn’t know what kind of relationship he had with my doppelgänger, according to Barry she was always kind to him but they never seemed to speak more than a few words at a time.
As I flipped through some pages pretending to look occupied, the faint sound of a wheelchair motor caught my attention, the moment I turned around my eyes met his, those blue ocean eyes that always seemed to be fighting against a storm; there he was sitting right under the doorframe, his eyes were cold, calculations and so intimidating I felt myself shrink down in fear. I offered him a kind smile, trying to remain professional; he only stared at me, his eyes studying me as he crooked an eyebrow. I didn’t know what game he was playing at but when it came to him I couldn’t risk anything slipping out of my mouth. Any detail for insignificant that it looked was a vital part of information to him.
“Is there anything you need Dr. Wells?” I softly asked, hoping to appease him, he seemed predatory, like a beast about to attack his prey and I found myself completely lost. He had me at his mercy, I was alone, Caitlin and Cisco had left for the day.
“We are leaving” he announced. Panic settled over me as I glanced at the clock, it read a little after 6 pm, Barry wasn’t back and I didn’t have any idea as to where he was taking me.
“I have to finish this papers before leaving.” I tried to dissuade him but he was set on. He hadn’t asked me, he had informed me that we were leaving.
He gripped the armrest of the chair, looking like an animal about to hunt down his pray. Slowly he got to his feet, my eyes momentarily widened in shock, faster than I could process his hand snapped to my arm, harshly grabbing it before yanking me to him, I hissed at the pain and stared at him like a deer about to be hit by a truck, his eyes softened for second along with his hand before he hardened his grip again and turned me, my side burying into his chest.
Eobard saw the panic running behind my eyes, my hand pushing against his chest, trying to put some distance between us, but he only gripped my arm tighter.
“Stay still” he growled before turning us both around and speeding us out of the lab.
Once I opened my eyes I noticed he had taken us to what I could only assume was his house, it radiated a strange sense of home, a certain peace to it, completely opposite to the man receding in it.
He let go of my arm, walking forward towards the marble island adorning the main area of the kitchen, he grabbed a drink, smelling the alcohol before taking a gulp. He sat the glass down, placing both of his hands in the counter far away from each other. He seemed stress, he seemed miserable, making a pinch of sadness settle on my insides.
I walked a little further inside the house, moving closer to him. I could see him looking at me through the corner of his eye, studying my movements and reactions, making me wonder why I was here. I moved closer to him and his eyes scanned my face as he turned around completely. Our eyes connected and I could see the pain and longing behind them, he was lonely, he was desperate to return to his time, to return home. His eyes started down at me so lovingly, it was almost imperceptible but I could see it behind all the walls he kept himself hidden behind, I wondered what kind of relationship they had, if they had any, or was this just a one sided thing were he miserably kept me near him just because I knew his secret or because it was the perfect excuse to have some company, the ache in his eyes somehow holding me in place.
I knew I was supposed to hate him, but I couldn’t, this man in this moment in time hadn’t done anything yet to make me personally hate him he wasn’t my enemy. He was only the reminder of a man I had once loved, a different version from another Earth, they were so similar yet so different.
His eyes followed my every movement as my hand reached to his arm, carefully trying to coax him closer. This was a fragment of time that would stay hidden forever, it wouldn’t change anything, it wouldn’t affect anyone. It would be a secret only this walls would know.
He kept studying me, trying to decipher what exactly I was doing and I wondered that myself as my hand moved to his face, he closed his eyes at the contact of the flat of my hand against his cheek. I could feel the way the air escaped his lungs, the way he gripped the edge of the counter top, trying to control whatever urges had taken over him, I had forgotten what I was doing here or what I was supposed to do, my every thought had been consumed by Eobard Thawne, this broken man who was hiding behind the façade of intimidation. I wondered when was the last time someone had touched him, the last time someone had been kind to him.
In a split second he had turned us around, trapping me in between the counter and himself, his hands gripping at my hips as his eyes burned into mine. I slid my hand down towards his neck, pulling him forward enough to ghost my lips over his, I could hear him suck in a breath, swallowing hard as his nose brushed mine and he felt as if he was about to melt under my touch. My lips brushed his, parting slightly to feel the edge of his; his hand tightened, squeezing me while he moved forward, finally closing the space in between us, his other hand moved up my arm, in between my shoulder blades until they reached my hair and his fingers tangled themselves in it with a grip hard enough to make my neck crane back and my mouth part open for him. His tongue darted past my lips, in a way that seemed to needy for someone like him, he licked every part of my mouth, making his personal mission to learn the taste of me; running the flat of his tongue once more in an unflinchingly broad stroke against mine he pulled away, leaving me breathless for a moment before his lips pecked at my bottom one, grabbing it softly in between his.
My eyes remained close as I turned my face, leaving an open access for his lips to run along my jawline until the reached my neck. His teeth sinking down on the skin, making me moan and sight at the feeling, he sucked in, leaving a mark before running his tongue over the skin in an apologetic manner. His hand moved under my shirt, caressing the skin softly, rubbing small circles with his thumbs before moving up my waist, his open hands settling in the middle to wrap me and keep me in place. I tangled my fingers in his hair, pulling it hard enough to make him growl before he bit down on my neck harder as a punishment making my back arch into his touch.
One of his hands moved over my back, gripping at the skin so desperately that it made me think he hadn’t had any physical contact of this kind in years. He gripped the bottom of my shirt, lifting over my head, I bit my lip as he just looked at me, his hand softly settling on my cheek as he brought me closer once more and kissed me as if his life depended on it. A hint of jealousy hit me when I realized he wasn’t thinking about me, he was thinking about her and even if there was no difference to the eye it still made some kind of rage settle in me to prove myself I could make him forget the touch of anyone else and remember me until the end of his days.
I moved my hand under his black sweater, touching the skin of his abdomen and feeling the muscles contract at my touch, the hand on my neck grew tighter as he breathed in at the contact. I circle them around his middle, successfully trapping him in my embrace while he kissed me,. Deciding I needed more than this I lifted his shirt over his head, aching to feel his skin against mine, I moved to unclip my bra before pulling him down to kiss him once more. This new bravery had taken him by surprise, distracting him for a second, getting a hold of himself again he held me and in a second he speeded us both to his bedroom, laying me down in a plush soft duvet. He was standing at the foot of the bed, looking down at me in a predatory way, a smirk showing a row of suddenly very sharp teeth planted on his face.
He lowered himself in between my legs, hiding his face on my neck, I could feel the way he inhaled my scent, trying to burn it in his mind and the way his tongue ran flat over my skin, making me throw my head back and tangled fingers in his hair.
“I have wanted you for so long, I have been watching you for so long and now you are finally here” he whispered in a moment of weakness, making me feel incredibly guilty, I was stealing this moment from him, I was giving him a false promise of an intangible gift he so desperately needed.
“I know is not you, I know he brought you with him but I will take what I can get.” He felt the way I tended under him at his words, running his tongue over my neck in an attempt to relax me. I should have known better, he was too smart of course he had figured it out, but he was willing to give a blind eye.
His hand moved down my middle to my thigh as he pressed himself harder down onto me, caging me when he moved his arms to either side of my head, his mouth colliding with mine as he opened it and his tongue explored mine. God he was so needy but I loved it. I loved the way this big bad man was coming undone under my touch.
His hand moved down to the button of my pants, opening them before pulling them down at inhuman speed. His fingers digging into my skin as my hands traveled down his torso until they reached his pants, undoing them before he got himself out of them.
I wrapped my legs over his middle and pushed him to the side, successfully flipping us and leaving me on top of him. I couldn’t hold myself at the way his eyes looked at me, so desperately needing my touch, he was silently begging for affection and it made him seem so much more human, how many lonely nights, desperate moments and dark days did he spend alone? He was human after all.
I sat on his thighs, wrapping my fingers around his cock and the moment he felt my hand around him he snaked his arms around me, hiding his face on my chest as I stroked him, he could hear the faint growls and grunts escaping him, loving the way his tip leaked with precum as I drew him closer to the edge. He momentarily buzzed and the vibration from his thigh sent a shock of pleasure stray to my core, making a moan escape me.
His lips moved over my breast, trailing open mouth kisses over them before he decided he had had enough of my teasing and moved his hands to squeeze my ass before lifting my up and yanking my underwear out of the way. He moved me over him and I grinded my entrance over his cock before sinking down slowly onto him, hitting my lip at the amazing pressure that came with fitting all of him inside. His hands took a bruising grip on my sides, holding me while simultaneously guiding my down and giving me a moment to adjust to him. He kissed my neck, running one hand down my back to rest on the curve of my ass while the other tangled itself on my hair.
Moving my hips I started to move, setting a slow pace, wanting to drag this out as long as possible, my hands settled on his chest, giving me some balance to ride him. It was delicious, the way every inch of him stretched me out, how the tip of his cock dragged against my walls, hitting that amazing spot inside everytime I moved up to the tip before sinking down again completely. He was getting desperate, his hand gripping my ass moving my body up and down faster while his hips snapped up to meet mine, he was in control even when he allowed me to pretend I could tame him.
In a particularly harsh thrust he grunted when my eyes closed and my back arched in his arms, he had taken over, guiding my hips to snap against his faster and harder, making sure to hit my core everytime, bringing me over the edge faster and faster, he was close too, I could feel it in the way his throat tightened around a swallow and his eyes unfocused completely for a second. He was holding back until I was done for and the thought of him being so kind sent the knot in my stomach loose as I tightened around him, making him groan and speed up his movements to meet mine in the middle, I could feel him falter as his movements got sloppy, feeling his cock throb inside as he came.
He held me in his arms for what seemed to be hours but where only a few minutes before laying me down and wrapping himself around me, he knew this moment would be gone tomorrow, when me and Barry left, but he wanted to savor every second of my presence for as long as he had me, forgetting for a night that there was life outside of this moment.

Eobard Thawne x female!reader (18+)
Looking at Eobard, he only makes you want to get him. But he is impregnable, just can’t approach him and say “be mine”. Although it is obvious that he also wants you. He is like a predator who tracks down his prey, but does not attack thoughtlessly. He plays with you, watches how you behave. And you burn with impatience to merge with him in passion. You really need to approach and kiss him impudently, slowly throwing off your clothes on the floor. Tear his shirt and admire his body. Try on his hands. You want him to be rude to you, to do whatever he wants. You want to feel it inside yourself, while shouting out his name. Eobard seduced you. But you decided to act and came to him. He was glad for your coming. You immediately attacked him like a tigress.
" You are only mine".
He understood what you want and began to caress you everywhere. A soft moan breaks from your lips.
"Take me right on the table."
But he is in no hurry to do what you want. You begin to undress each other and soon remain naked. He takes you and sets you on the table. After that, Eobard began to kiss your body with kisses, starting from the neck. You moan softly and snuggle closer to him.
"Do it with me. I was a bad girl today."
His kisses began to lower already, with his left hand he went down between your legs. Began to caress your pussy. At first his movements were smooth, but then they became rougher and rougher. You’re already getting louder.
But you want more. His fingers are not enough to satisfy you. He pulled out his fingers, anticipating your orgasm.
"Fuck me in the end."
Eobard teased you. Kissing you, he came down below. And now he penetrated your tongue. From a surge of feelings you rolled your eyes. But here he did not do everything slowly and accurately.
"You're great! Do it more often."
Your words only puzzled him and he began to use speed. From such bliss, you have finished several times. He did not give you a break and immediately inserted his cock. Goose bumps went through your body. It was too pleasant. He began to move forward and backward. You clung to him, spreading your legs wider. Your screams were very loud. From pleasure you began to scratch his back. It started him up and he accelerated every time more and more. And then the end came.
"Into me!"
You have finished several times at the same time.
Both of you were absolutely powerless.
You only whispered in his ear: "I'm waiting for you at home today, I'll show you something."
"I haven't let you go yet."
He has departed from you.
" On knees".
You knelt before him.
"Yes, daddy."
"I want to know how well you work with your mouth."
He grinned sarcastically. You appeased his whim, but you liked it. No one dared to touch him except you. His moans excited you and you worked faster every time. The final did not make you wait and he finished in your mouth.
You pulled away from him.
"The bad girl is doing well." Eobard told you this.
"I want to continue. This is not enough for me." You got up from your knees and went up to him, started kissing his body. He really liked it. I grabbed you abruptly by the chest with your hands and you finished right away.
"In the evening we’ll continue and don’t think about touching yourself until I come."

Eobard Thawne (Harribard) x Reader
Trying to get back to writing. Here's some angst. Sorry if it's a bit confusing, timeline of the personal mind-alternate universe plus the new episode Ooofff
Tumblr media
Your mind is blank. Your body is shaking. The unknown future is getting to you. The anxiety is building upon you. What now? What happens next? All the past has built up and now every decision, every action has come back to bite you in the ass. At the moment, it felt like the right decision: Stay home, don’t do anything, sleep. The sadness coursing through you. The unwillingness to do anything.
Because how could you do anything. You had fallen in love with the person you were supposed to turn in. You had made love countless times to the person you were supposed to despise. But things had changed while undercover.
It felt as if you were going to betray the one you loved... Until you found out that he had betrayed you first.
From then on you gathered up the strength you had seemingly lost during your time with him. In a way, he had domesticated you. Forgetting your entire mission. Then you found out what he did, bringing back all your prior training and the original mission of why you had time jumped from the past to the future was in full throttle once again.
It was scary how you had let yourself down into a pit for a man.
Never again.
Now that you’re trying to fix it it seems unfixable, like nothing will ever get better. Things might get worse. Who knows?
But you have him.
Or maybe the small steps you're taking to at least try and fix it are something. Maybe those small baby steps are taking you somewhere where  you are actually meant to be. Somewhere  where you will learn from your mistakes.
You thought you would learn.
You completed your mission. You had him under custody.
The year was 2049, and your team  finally had him. The man-the man who did so many evil things to reach his goals, the man who murdered so many people, the man who not only destroyed entire timelines, but also aided in committing Nazi war crimes. The man relentless in hate and obsession.
You felt pride that he was finally paying for all his crimes.
Regret, that it had to be you to be the one to bring him in.
He was given the death penalty. The little time he had counted down. Months went to weeks. Weeks turned to days. Days turned to hours. Hours to minutes, and minutes to seconds. Everything was about time. The ticks. It all lead to The ultimate countdown.
“You’re back.” He doesn't look at you, the back of his hair messy, pointy, and everywhere. He has his back turned to you pacing his cell.
“Your visits. From Nora Allen have been frequent.”
“Not as frequent as yours.”
“ If you betray her Eobard, if you try anything-”
“What? What will happen, (y/n)? I'm already imprisoned. You made sure of that."
"She believes in you, Eobard, and if you betray her like you betrayed me, if none of it is truly genuine-"
"She’ll never leave with what I’ve done to her. Nora can help me. She can help us so that none of what I did happens to you. It would fix our timeline, the timeline he ripped away from me!" He turned to you. He couldn't face you, couldn't meet your eyes. They were full of hate against him again. He couldn't face those eyes again.
"You really want to help the Flash?"
He stayed silent, with a blank expression. "SEE You never change, do you Eobard? YOU ALWAYS HAVE A PLAN!" Your anger sourges through you, you could see through the glass' reflection how furious you were. You had tried to be strong to keep your emotions at bay, but they were too overwhelming. "I just never thought you would go this far. Not with me!”
He seemed genuinely confused and worried as he looked into your eyes. "What do you mean?"
"You- you impregnated me- to keep me with you? I, or another me, was going to leave you for some other most likely crazy reasonable purpose that happened between us or in the timeline!" You gasped failing to hold back sloppy tears, "But involve an innocent child. Is low. Lower than you!"
Flinching at the speed he humanly had. He closed the amount of distance you two had been separated to reach you only to be separated by a sheen of glass. His breath fogged up the view as he took deep breaths down at you. " You're pregnant? One of me- I got you pregnant?" He took a deep sigh, taking one step back from the glass, reaching out his hand and placing his palm on the glass nearest your cheek.” Let me do this. Let me go through with this. Please.”

“No” A Harrison Wells/Eowells X Reader Fic
Word count: 993
Author: Me(Melanie)
Warnings: none
Ugh, today was bad. Usual days just zipped by anymore. This was not a usual day. It seemed that Meta after Meta were just coming out of the woodwork today, causing trouble. You just helped the team and hoped the day would be over with soon, as you hated lying to your friends.
You had recently found out that Harrison Wells was the reverse flash. At first, you were going to tell Barry and the rest of the team but then decided that it wasn't really your problem. You were only planning to be here for about another week. Of course, that was about three weeks ago.
You convinced the self-absorbed Eobard Thawne that you weren't going to spill his little (Or actually, his HUGE) secret to anyone, and he gave you the benefit of the doubt.
As the day finally came to a close, you realized that while dealing with the days Meta's you forgot about the stupid speech test thing you were supposed to do with a friend who has 'decent speech patterns'.
Great, you thought to yourself.
Caitlin and Cisco were already gone, both looking really exhausted. You couldn't blame them, today had been a long one for everyone. Barry was still here, you think to yourself, now wanting to encounter the 'Dr. not so Harrison Wells'. You race around S.T.A.R Labs trying to locate him. Outside the Cortex, in the hallway, a whoosh of air hit you as Barry stopped in front of you.
Yes!
"Hey, Y/N, I've gotta run, Joe needs me back at home. Can you, um, lock up, for me?" He asks.
You give a heavy sigh, and a small smile, "Sure Barry, catch you later."
"Okay, thank you, Y/N." He put on his coat as he sped away.
"Aaahhh, why me!?" you say out loud, really to yourself more than anybody else. So, you would have to ask 'Dr. not so Harrison Wells' after all. Almost running, you head up to his office, not wanting him to run off too. When you reach it, you give a little knock to alert him of your presence. He was positioned behind his desk, examining some papers.
"Hey, I need your help with something, Dr. not so Harrison-"
"Would you stop calling me that?" He grumbles cutting you off.
"Um, not unless you have something else for me to call you. And, as a matter of fact, I like calling you that." You mock walking over to his desk.
He glares at you for a second before looking back at his papers "What is it that you wanted?"
"Okay, so as you well know, I have 'speech problems'" You put air quotes around the words "And I recently let myself get talked into -By Caitlin- getting help with it."
He glanced at you for a second, placing his papers down on the desk "So? Why are you here?"
"I have this test, that I need to do with a friend or really anyone who has decent speech. Caitlin and Cisco are gone, and Barry just ran out on me."
"Don't you have a sister?" He asked annoyed
"Yes, but she was here for the same amount of time that I was supposed to be here, I," You pointed to yourself "am the only jackass who decided to stay. She's probably living a normal life."
"So you don't have anyone to help you."
"Well," You walked around the desk, sitting on the edge near Dr. Wells "You, could always help me..."
"No." He said plainly going back to the stack of papers on his desk.
"Come, on." You say frustrated by his refusal to help you.
"I have work to do."
"So?" you say glaring at him.
"So, go away."
"No." You crossed your arms over your chest.
He looked over at you "Y/N, leave, now."
"No." You tilted your head to the side, meeting his gaze.
"Stop saying, no." He gave you a warning glare.
A teasing smile crept onto your face, and in a low voice you reply with one word "No."
That seemed to tick him off more than it should have. He moved the wheelchair back, and stood, towering over you.
"Y/N, I am not it the mood for your obstinate behavior, leave me to my work." He stepped closer to you, attempting to intimidate you.
Insistent on annoying him, you met his threatening gaze "No." You see him clench his jaw. It looked like he was trying to kill you with his gaze. Then, without any warning, his lips were on yours. It took a second for you to register his movements. He was kissing you? His hands were cupping your face, the kiss almost desperate against your mouth. Hesitating, you kissed him back, not really sure where this had come from. Of course, you'd thought of him that way, but not since you had found out that he wasn't really Harrison Wells, that he was a murderer. Your gut tightened, heart racing and your hands went to his chest, gripping his shirt and pulling him closer. One of his hands found your hip, lightly gripping it as his other hand tangled into your hair. You moaned a bit, reaching up and wrapping your arms around his neck. He sucked your lower lip into his mouth before pulling back, dragging it between his teeth. His forehead rested against yours. You opened your eyes, staring into his now beautiful blue gaze. He was looking straight into your eyes, thoughtfully, as if he was contemplating something.
He lifted his head away from yours.
"I just kissed you," he said, sounding perplexed.
"Hello, I'm Y/N, you must be Captain Obvious." You say softly.
He chuckled. "It's nice to meet you Y/N." He held out his hand, and you shook it.
"Any chance you'll let it happen again?" He asked still gripping your hand.
You smile for a second and whispered "No." before closing the distance between you.

Baby, It’s Cold Outside - (EoWells x reader)
A/N: So, the naughty prompt *devil horns*. I had this thought a week or two ago and just had to write it :D
Warning: IMPORTANT - yes, this story is largely based on the song ‘Baby, it’s cold outside’ and I know that there are many people who are uncomfortable with the message the song seems to portray. I have mainly based it off of the altered lyrics from the version by Michael Buble and Idina Menzel to diffuse the moral ambiguity a little, but I want to just put it out there now before we start. This relationship is entirely consensual, but don’t like, don’t read :)
Also, implied smut.
Okay, without further ado:
Tumblr media
*Gif not mine, all credit to the creator*
For @letyourimaginationrun - Merry Christmas, hun! :D
It had all started when you walked into work on the last day before the holidays to find your boss, Harrison Wells, leaning up against your desk, examining several pages that you’d left there the night before.
“And to what do I owe this pleasure this early on in the day?” you asked with a slight smirk as you entered your office, catching his attention as you set your bag down.
He smiled, before placing your papers back on the desk and meeting your gaze. “The pleasure is all mine, I assure you, but either way, we owe it to my forgetfulness, I’m afraid, Miss (Y/L/N),” he replied, taking a step closer to you, “I left your notebook on my desk at home this morning…”
“Ah,” you said, biting your lip slightly as you recalled that he was meant to return your book of project ideas that you’d let him look at before you went home for the holidays so that you could continue to add to them. “And how do you suggest we solve this?”
You raised your eyebrow and crossed your arms over your chest as he continued to smile at you. In reality, you could live without your notes over the holiday, but you weren’t about to pass up an opportunity to potentially spend some extra time with Doctor Wells…
“Well, I was thinking that maybe…” he mused, taking yet another step towards you so that you had to look up into his eyes, “I could take you home later and we can go by my house and I’ll return your book.”
Your heart fluttered slightly at the closeness and his suggestion, and he seemed to notice, smirking down at you.
“I finish at six,” you said, with a tilt of your head, “but then, you already knew that…”
“I’ll see you then,” he replied with a nod, smirk still plastered on his face as he slipped around you and headed for the door, the scent of his cologne hanging in the air.
You spun around and watched him go, chewing on your lip as you started to get your heart rate under control again.
The pair of you had always had a very flirty relationship, filled with a sexual tension which neither of you had ever made a definite move towards breaking.
But you got the distinct impression that that might all change this evening if his intense gaze during that conversation was anything to go by…
The thought of this distracted you for most of the day and you fluctuated between wanting the clock to speed up so that it could happen already and wanting time to stop dead so that you didn’t have to face him.
But whether you liked it or not, six o’clock rolled around and Harrison appeared in your doorway with his coat in hand as you picked up your bag and jacket.
“Good evening,” he said smoothly as he offered you his arm and you took it, smiling up at him.
“Good evening, Dr Wells.”
You saw a few people on your way out of the building, all of whom gave you questioning or suspicious glances, whispering amongst themselves. After all, it wasn’t every day that you accompanied the head of the company home so people were bound to have a few theories as to what was going on.
Harrison didn’t seem to care though, instead, asking you questions about the ideas in your notebook and starting to outline ways that you could make them a reality. The journey back to his house continued in much the same vein, although you found it very difficult to concentrate on giving him scientific answers when his hand kept accidentally brushing your thigh whenever he had to change gear.
And at some point during the ride, snow started to fall over the city, turning everything from the trees to the road white. It became increasingly difficult to see past the end of the car as you neared a driveway with what you could just make out as a rather large house standing at the end of it.
Harrison pulled up as close to the door as possible, but with how heavy the snow had gotten in the last few minutes, even going the short distance from the car to his front door meant that the pair of you were coated in a layer of snow that easily soaked through your thin jacket, making you shiver in the cold wind.
You stood a little closer to Harrison than strictly necessary as he unlocked the door, ushering you inside with a hand on the small of your back which made you take a sharp breath that you hoped he wouldn’t notice.
And you didn’t calm down when you entered his house, as you were even more taken aback by the sheer scale of it.
“Wow,” you breathed, looking around the cavernous and modern space in awe, “remind me to found a highly successful, multi-million-dollar Research Company in the future…”
That earned you a chuckle as he went to take your snow-covered jacket, which you gracefully shrugged off.
“I wouldn’t count on it; I’ve got enough competition as it is,” he said with another smirk, leading you into his living space, although everything was so open plan, you could barely tell where one room ended and the next began. He lit the fire and turned on a few lights before turning back to you.
“I’ll just go and get your book,” Harrison said, brushing his hand down your arm, sending shivers through you which you also tried to hide from him. “Make yourself at home.”
He sent you a charming smile before disappearing into another part of the house. You took a seat on the sofa, moving closer to the fire to try and warm yourself up a little from your time out in the snowstorm, however short it was.
You just had to keep your cool around him, no matter what could potentially happen tonight. You still had your pride. Harrison didn’t need to know that you’d literally do anything he asked of you in an instant. You could at least attempt to play ‘hard to get’.
“I can’t wait to try and use some of these in the future, (Y/N), your ideas are well ahead of your time,” you heard him say as he came back into the room, your book in his hand, “and I will certainly enjoy working more closely with you.”
You knew exactly what he was doing with these compliments and it was so working, but you just smiled at him as he passed the notebook to you, your fingers deliberately brushing against his when you took it. You didn’t know if it was just you, or was there an actual spark there?
“Well, seeing as we’re most likely stuck here, would you care to have a drink with me?” he asked as he looked down at you, “a little pre-Christmas celebration, if you will.”
You chuckled lightly before looking up into his blue eyes.
“I really can’t stay… Harrison.” You tested his first name out and, to your delight, he seemed to like it, “I have to get home so that I can get to my parents’ house tomorrow…”
“(Y/N), you’ll freeze to death out there and it’s snowing so hard that I don’t think it’s particularly safe for me to drive you… so won’t you indulge me?”
The silkiness of his voice. The little raise of his eyebrow. You couldn’t say no even if you wanted to.
“Go on then,” you said, keeping your voice incredibly level despite your rapidly increasing heart rate.
He smiled again at your affirmation, leaving the room once more in search of a bottle as you looked around the room to try and calm your nerves. The place looked barely lived in, which was a shame, but then again, the man was married to his work.
He returned promptly, pouring two glasses of whiskey on a nearby table and passing one of them to you.
“You still look as cold as ice, (Y/N), come closer to the fire,” he encouraged, placing one hand on your forearm and possibly causing more goosebumps on your skin rather than curing them.
‘Maybe I should move closer to you, it’d have the same effect,’ you thought to yourself as you moved a little closer to the flames, taking a large sip of your drink and feeling it burn against the back of your throat.
“I did mean it, Harrison,” you said, trying not to get lost in his ice blue eyes, “I have to be at my parents’ house for dinner tomorrow evening and they live over three hours away…”
“That still leaves you plenty of time, wouldn’t you say?” he replied easily, shuffling a little closer to you so you could feel his thigh pressed against yours. And boy did you want more. You downed the remainder of your drink to try and suppress what you were thinking.
“Pour me another glass then,” you said with a wink, deciding that flirting back would most likely get you what you wanted.
He gave you one of his signature smirks before plucking the glass from your fingers and standing in order to refill them both.
You watched him as he did so, long, elegant fingers undoing the lid of the bottle and pouring out two more generous servings. What you’d give to have those hands on you right now…
He handed your glass back to you before quickly downing his own, licking away the lasting traces on his lips, an action which had you completed mesmerised.
“I’m not going to get back today, am I?” you breathed, unconsciously leaning in so that your lips were just inches from his.
You gaze flicked back to his eyes and his darkened expression and you knew that he wanted this as badly as you did.
You quickly turned, placing yours and his empty glasses on the table before looking at him with a lust filled gaze. You bit your lip as you stood, moving in front of him and slipping out of your heels before taking the last step and straddling his lap.
His hands immediately went to your hips as yours combed through his dark hair and explored his chest as you began placing slow, deliberate kisses up his jawline and towards his neck.
“I really shouldn’t stay,” you murmured against his skin, “but you’re not sober enough to take me home now…”
“And no cab is going to risk- ah-” he faltered as you lightly nipped at his neck, “-coming out in this storm, I’m afraid…”
You lifted your head to look into his eyes, studying his dilated pupils. “Shame…” you whispered, ghosting your lips over his. You felt his grip on you tighten and he fidgeted as you teased him, enjoying every one of his little responses.
“God, you look delicious…” he sighed, bringing one hand up to your neck and finally closing the gap and claiming your lips in a dominant and long-overdue kiss.
Your lips moved fervently against his as his tongue delved into your mouth, the lingering taste of whiskey evident on both of you.
You sighed into the kiss and at this point, he stopped holding back and took away what little control you had had at the start.
His arms went around your back and under the top of your thighs so that he could pick you up effortlessly, heading in the direction of what you assumed was his bedroom.
You held on tightly to him as he moved, marvelling at how well he could navigate his house with you in his arms. You continued to kiss him hard, letting him know just how much you wanted this, wanted him.
You soon felt the softness of a mattress beneath your back and you shuffled yourself towards the head of the bed so that there was room for him to climb in with you.
You were already breathing heavily, lips slightly swollen as you looked up at him with half-lidded eyes and running a hand through your already tangled locks. As he took in the sight of you sprawled out on his bed, he took off his glasses in one swift motion, condemning them to the bedside table as he followed every little move you made.
You beckoned him forward with one finger, biting your lip again as he crawled up the bed towards you and looking sexy as hell as he did.
You would surrender all of yourself to him and you were absolutely sure that he’d take every bit that he could get.
The rest of the night was all tongues and teeth, moans and cries of ecstasy as he brought you to the peak of pleasure every time.
He made love to you with an air of possessive hunger, spurred on by your increasingly vocal responses to his actions as he claimed you as his own. He was quite rough with you, knowing that’s what you were asking for with the signs your body was showing and you knew that you’d likely find it hard to walk properly the next day.
His mouth worked wonders on your skin, marking you through biting and sucking, enough that you would probably be asked questions by your family members when you did eventually leave Harrison’s house.
But you didn’t care about any of that. This man was incredible and no one had ever made you feel quite so good before.
And you doubted that anything would ever come close again.
Eventually, when you were both fully satisfied, he pulled you into his magnificently chiselled arms, running his fingertips up and down your bare skin as you snuggled into his warm chest.
“You know, you were right… I think it was the best decision for me to stay here instead of trying to make my way home,” you said with a grin as you drew patterns over his skin with one fingernail.
“Well, I couldn’t have knowingly let you catch a cold,” he replied with a knowing smile, placing a kiss into your hair before gently running his hand through it.
“And, you know what?” you asked, shifting your head to look into his eyes again.
“Hmm?”
“I’m not cold anymore… it’s much warmer inside.”
He chuckled and shook his head slightly as you tenderly kissed his collarbone before beginning to fall asleep, wrapped in his embrace while the snow continued to fall outside.

Earth 2 Harrison Wells x Reader – You can't keep blaming yourself
Tumblr media
Imagine getting pretty seriously wounded during the final fight with Zoom and waking up hearing Harry blaming himself for what happened so you decide to got cheer him up a bit. Note: I really love Earth 2 Harry so I hope you don’t mind me writing another piece with him! Also, again, that awesome gif isn’t mine. —
Your eyelids felt heavy as your tried to open your eyes. It took you some time to realize what happened. You were back at S.T.A.R. Labs lying on the bed in the med-bay. Your memory was still a little blurry, all you could remember was you and Team Flash going to Earth 2 to rescue Jessie and end Zoom but when you finally got there, things got complicated. Just when you all thought you’re gonna get home safe, Zoom attacked Jessie but you jumped into the way … After that, you couldn’t remember a thing. Suddenly, you heard some voices. Three voices. One of them was definitely Harry. „This is all my fault. It should have been me getting hit, not Y/N!“ „Harry, you can’t keep blaming yourself. You couldn’t have stopped Zoom, non of us could at that point, we should all be happy we got home alive.“ Caitlyn tried to comfort him patting his shoulder lightly and giving him a little smile. „She’s right, man, if any of us got a direct hit, we would have been BOOM! Dead. Kaput.  Finito.“ Cisco joined he conversation. „Y/N was lucky Zoom only hit her side …“ Caitlyn added but was interrupted by Harry. „Lucky? You’re a doctor, Snow, this doesn’t seem like lucky to me! She’s lying on a bed with serious injuries and who knows when or if she’ll ever wake u- …“ „H-hey there.“ You walked in leaning up against a wall to help you stand and and holding your bandaged left side to soothe the pain a bit. „Y/N! You’re awake … you’re alright.“ Harry couldn’t believe his eyes. Keeping his eyes locked on you, he walked closer and pulled you into his arms, gently, as if he was scared he was going to break you. „Come on Cisco, let’s give them the room.“ Caitlyn pushed Cisco with hair elbow and both of them headed out sendindg you grateful looks to see you standing again. „I’m fine, Harry. At least, I will be.“ You tried to give him the warmest smile create at your current state. „Y/N, I’m sorry, I-“ „Stop it. I heard your guys’ conversation … I can’t let you keep thinking it was your fault, when it wasn’t. If you want to blame anyone, blame Zoom or blame me, for getting into the way … Wait. What happened with Zoom? Is-is Jessie okay? And what about everybody else?“ You suddenly started panicking not knowing about anything that has happened, but Harry took your face into his hands, caressing your cheeks with his thumbs. „Heyy,“ he whispered softly loking into your eyes, „Jessie is alright, so is everybody else and we don’t have to worry about Zoom anymore.Come here.“ He added as he leaned forward and gently kissed your forehead pulling you back into a hug, this time a little tighter. „I love you, Harrison Wells.“ You whispered into his chest. „I love you, too, Y/N L/N. But right now, let’s get you back to bed, otherwise you’ll never feel better again.“ He noticed you struggling with every move so he took you into his arms and carried you back into the bed. As he was laying you down, you two shared a passionate kiss. „Could you stay here with me for a while?“ You pleaded. „I’ll never leave you again.“

MASTERLIST
“What are you doing out here?”
Your ears perked up at the rough voice, followed by the sound of the balcony door sliding shut. “I couldn’t sleep,” you simply responded, glancing at the dark-haired man before looking ahead at the night sky while airplane lights twinkled above. Light pollution from Keystone obscured the stars just as it was done in Central City every night. I want to see the stars again; they were so nice out in the country. The scenery is probably the only nice thing out in the country that I could handle. Harry’s hands were shoved in his pockets as he gauged you with attentive eyes. From what he had been told since being pulled from the void, you hadn’t been sleeping, but now that’s changed. The genius was actually surprised to see you out of bed tonight when your sleeping cycles had been improved. Was it possible that you were starting to relapse on sleep? Or was your body taking more time to settle into a stable sleep schedule. Harry’s concern for you only increased since living again.
“It’s cold.”
“I know.”
“You’ll get sick.”
“I know,” you whispered the words again, your breath creating visible fog in the brisk night air. A chill ran down your spine, but you shook it off. The cold nipped at your cheeks, but it kept you more awake this way. You didn’t want to shut your eyes, not tonight.  You slightly adjusted your seated position on the railing, swaying your feet slightly. You weren’t afraid of falling, your carbon-based powers would catch you.
“I see that Harrison’s gone.”
“Once I told him he can move freely, that his body was no longer in a state of particle flux, he was vehement to leave.” You nodded, shutting your tired eyes for a second to relieve the little ache that resonated in your head. “I don’t blame him.” I made Harrison stay a few days because I needed to make sure he’d be ok before returning to his Time Loop with Tess. My conscience wouldn’t allow me to sleep peacefully if something were to happen to him on his way back. I am responsible for his condition after the extrication. You huffed out another breath of fog. “I know what you did.”
Harry raised an eyebrow at you, rubbing his hands together for some warmth. “Care to enlighten me?”
“Hmm, isn’t this an all-too-familiar situation?” Six years have gone by, huh. It feels like just yesterday I had just met his grumpy ass when Barry brought him to the labs after the first King Shark takedown.
“…” Harry pursed his lips, knowing what you were referring to - it was all so vivid in his mind. Six years ago, he had killed The Turtle in order to steal Barry’s speed for Zoom to release Jesse. A futile attempt as the psychotic speedster demanded more of Barry’s speed than Harry’s conscience would let him, especially after hearing Barry and Cisco’s misplaced guilt with the Tarpit incident. Iris’ hospitalization was Harry’s fault, along with the other lives that were injured and/or lost that night. That was a guilt he had carried in his heart along with the rest from his deeds in Earth-2. You knew of Harry’s reluctant deal with Zoom, having tailed after the dark-haired man and witnessing Jesse’s fear when being ripped away from her father’s arms once more. All of that was prior to his dark instincts pushing him to murder The Turtle in cold blood to sap Barry’s speed via a tachyon draining device he planted in Barry’s suit behind his lightning bolt emblem. A feat Thawne hadn’t even done, yet…  stealing Barry’s speed wasn’t Thawne’s intent in the first place. The dark-haired genius recalled the night perfectly in his mind. The blood that stained you and him, the tears in your eyes, your shaky voice and trembling hands – yet you gambled with fate in revealing what you knew to Harry in exchange that he would keep quiet about your powers. In return you wouldn’t breathe a word of what you knew between him and Zoom or what lengths he’d go to for his imprisoned daughter. An even rockier start to your dependence on one another. Looking back, Harry didn’t regret a single moment that he shared with you. He wouldn’t have it any other way.
“I don’t blame you,” your words broke Harry out of his thoughts, “Eo did that same thing when Thaddeus first showed up.” A little hum escaped your lips as your body moved off the railing to stand beside the Wells doppelganger. Yet, your eyes didn’t meet his, instead transfixed on the glimmering lights from Keystone. “Time travel - it’s so messed up. You’d think our kids would be the ones not to interfere but…” Your fingers lightly tapped in tempo against the cold metal railing as you trailed off. “It’s still so bizarre.” Thaddeus and Jackson’s intentions were justified, especially when Bart and Nora West-Allen were already screwing with the timeline like Barry to preserve their family. Why can’t my kids get away with doing the same? Harry had only raised an eyebrow at you, giving you an odd look that you didn’t see. He understood their intent, but time travel wasn’t something one can easily play with, even Thawne had trouble with the extents he can go to. “Did you get your results?”
“… Yeah.” Legitimate children according to the specialized meta-DNA sample tests I ran.
“Fraternal twins. Never would I have thought to have kids of my own. Certainly not with two frustratingly stubborn and arrogant men. One egg got a set of speedster meta-DNA while the other egg did not.” But I’ve grown to love them nonetheless - powers or not. They’re my kids.
“Thaddeus has the Negative Speed Force and Jackson doesn’t.”
“But Jackson has your marksmanship and apparently your broody demeanor,” you countered, glancing up at Harry’s icy blue eyes with a cheeky grin. Thad did say that Jack’s hits were precise each and every time, no hint of faltering. So I wonder if it’s all a coincidence… “Can’t say he didn’t get anything special.” The corner of his lips tugged up and your heart thrummed heavily in your chest as the dim light hit the side of his face in a perfect glow moment.
“Those two got all that attitude from you.”
“Are you saying that you and Eo don’t have an attitude? Because I’m going to stop you right there, you two are the moodiest men I’ve ever met, and I get my periods.” Harry rolled his eyes, resting his forearms against the railing while you retracted your now freezing hands. Secretly, you wanted him to take your hands in his to warm them up, but you said nothing. It’s too soon for any of that, especially since you don’t know where the two of you stand.
Harry can’t deny that he missed this; missed being amused by your sass, missed being by your side and having you by his. And that teasing grin of yours, it made him want you to pester him forever. “They have that same fire in their eyes that I see when I look at you.”
His words made you hold your breath, the gentle look in his eyes that shined down at you caused your fired up features to melt into a soft expression. “They got their intelligence from you both though. Thad told me that you and Eo were unstoppable in the future.” You averted your eyes from Harry to look back at Keystone, your teeth raking over your bottom lip before opening your mouth, “You haven’t made a decision, have you?”
“…” Harry didn’t respond, instead a little breath left him as he rubbed his face. Before he could answer you, he needed to know one thing. “All those little moments that we’ve had during Zoom, Savitar, DeVoe – what were they?” What am I to you, the one who made a place right in my chaotic life and moved into my heart?
“…” You heard your heartbeat echo loudly in your ear; you didn’t meet his eyes.
“Look at me,” Harry rasped out as he brought a hand to your face, tilting your gaze to meet his own. His thumb rubbed your cold cheek, the bags under your eyes were slowly going away. Subtly, you leaned into Harry’s tender touch. “Be honest.” He didn’t want to let go, not yet.
Even though his warm hand held your face like that, your eyes couldn’t help but escape the look he sent you. Your insides squeezed tightly, your fingers twitching a bit. “They… meant the world to me, even if you left every time.” Your eyes gradually met his blue gaze, the softest emotion twinkled brightly in yours. “I waited for you to come back, each and every time.” Just like how I waited for Eobard.
Harry licked his lips, his breath had hitched quietly at your confession. “Even when Thawne was running around after the first Crisis?”
“Yeah,” you whispered, feeling his other hand on your other cold cheek – his touch lingered there to warm you up with his larger hands. Even then my heart wanted to reach out to you too. I guess I was selfish enough to have both of you in the future. You two were so close right now, it made your head spin just like it did whenever you were around him. Just like it did when you and Eo danced around the idea of liking each other before the Particle Accelerator exploded. Your heart squeezed in your chest at the way Harry looked at you - he made you feel like you were the only one in the world. “Harry, I don’t want to influence your decision, if you don’t have feelings for me… if you’d like to leave, you’re more than welcome to. I won’t stop you.” Harry shifted his gaze to the ground for a moment as he dropped his hand, remembering the small picture in his pocket - the weight that it held. Thaddeus had given him a copy of a framed photograph that now rested in your living room. A picture of the future with two toddlers, Jesse as an adult, Thawne, you, and him. He won’t deny the connection he felt to the two young adults, how Harry felt oddly amused with their presence. But Harry knew you were serious with your words. If he wished to leave, you wouldn’t stop him, even if it meant breaking your heart… and that he’d be robbing you of a child. He’d be robbing Thaddeus and Jesse of a brother. His decision would effectively erase Jackson Wells from existence. How can you smile at him like that with confidence and allow him to choose to leave? Wouldn’t his choice hurt you? Betray your heart in essentially killing your child? … Of course it hurts her. Of course her heart would be in shambles, but what is she supposed to say? Is she supposed to coerce me to stay? She wouldn’t do that because then I wouldn’t be happy. But how would he face the child? How would he tell Jack to his face that he didn’t want a life with you, didn’t want him to ever come to existence? The weight of Jack and Thad’s words echoed in his mind again; Thawne’s execution and the coma you’re thrown in while he juggles two children in the future because of Barry. The misery those two kids are thrown in with having been robbed of two of their parents. The Wells doppelganger already felt the climbing anxiety of carrying the weight of two kids on his own.
Jesse was one thing, Jack and Thad are another. If I choose to leave, then Thaddeus would be the only one Thawne and (Y/N) would have, but… that’d mean that he’d be an orphan at 12 years old with no other family to go to. He could end up in an even worse situation than Zoom. Harry needed more time to mull things over.  A few more days, at least…
***One Week Later***
“Wells.”
“What?” Harry snapped, removing his screwdriver from the back portion of Jesse’s emblem. He had been installing a tachyon enhancer device to allow her to go faster, but to also negate her suit from overly absorbing electrical energy so the electricity from the Speed Force doesn’t short-circuit. He was not going to have his daughter lag behind Thawne. “I’m a bit busy at the moment.”
“We need to talk.” The villain retorted, narrowing his eyes at his dark-haired mirror copy. Eobard’s eyes trailed to the lab’s doorway. He needs to hear this before making a decision. “Preferably not in the house with the others around.”
“Thawne-” But Eobard was already speeding away with Harry in his grasp. He didn’t have time for Harry’s bitch attitude. The scenery blurred around the two men. Harry’s been in Flash-time before, has been in Barry’s and Jesse’s grasp when moving at superspeed, but Thawne’s was different. True to the villain’s word, his Negative Speed Force was fueled by anger, fear, and sadness all wrapped in one. It was suffocating; the same emotions that had drowned Harry for a good part of his life when his Tess had died. When Jesse had been taken by Zoom. When DeVoe toyed with him and stole the one thing that Harry held dear – his intelligence. Once Harry’s feet balanced themselves on stable ground, the man could only throw an irritated look at Thawne when the speedster let go of him. Harry took in a breath; his hair was as wild as the speedster’s – practically mirror images without his black-clear framed glasses on. “Was that really necessary?”
“Would you rather (Y/N) hear this now?” Thawne couldn’t help, but snap back at the genius scientist that was to be like a brother to him. Harry glanced over his shoulder, both men were pretty far from your home in Keystone. They were near the woods, a trail of running water sputtered about as birds chirped in the trees. The air was still crisp as it was still the cold season, yet nature’s beauty was as prominent as ever. The hair at the back of Harry’s neck stood up as the cooler temperatures set in with his body.
Harry simply raised an eyebrow at the speedster, a perplexed look graced his rugged features. “What are you going on about, Thawne? I don’t have time for your mind games.” But something didn’t feel right to Harry.
Eobard pressed his lips into a thin line before rubbing his face and glancing to the side. Harry waited with crossed arms as the genius took in a breath, reaching into his jacket pocket and pulling out a device. With his thumb, Eobard pressed the button that activated the device that allowed Gideon to project itself in the palm of his hand. “Good day, Gideon.”
“Good day, Professor Thawne, Dr. Wells.” Harry made no greeting to the AI.
“Gideon, repeat report on Patient Zero.” Harry blinked, curiosity starting to linger as the AI simply nodded at Eobard’s request.
Patient Zero?
“Collecting all necessary files on Patient Zero: Umbress, also known as Carbonite, (Y/N) (L/N).” Harry’s eyes connected with Eobard’s eyes for a brief moment, but even then, the Earth-2 genius caught a flicker of distraught in Thawne’s icy blue gaze. Dread balled in the Wells doppelganger’s stomach as he anticipated what the AI would report. “Status: dead.” No. Harry’s heart dropped as his mouth dried up and bile steadily rose up his throat. Not again. He was just with you a few moments ago – you were sassing him again, this time for your choice in novels that he made remarks about. Your cheeky grin and mischievous expression immediately surfaced to the forefront of his mind. But then it made sense, Thad had looked a bit hesitant when Jack was explaining Thawne’s execution and your capture. The twins didn’t want to show you what they knew, not yet, at least. Eobard casted his eyes onto the ground, he lightly kicked a rock – his insides twisted as he heard the report again for what seemed like the millionth time. The speedster had done everything he can to dissect every detail with Thaddeus to avoid your present self from falling into demise. The only sure solution to Eobard would be for the three of you to live on Earth-2 earlier than anticipated in the timeline and prepare for an attack from Barry and his ‘Speedster Association’. “Cause of death: Ruptured aortic aneurysm. Time of death: unknown.” Harry was finding it harder to breathe, it was like with Tess all over again, but he tried to compose himself in front of Thawne. Harry’s gaze locked onto Thawne’s solemn one with one evident question that hung in the tense air.
What’s your next move?
***Four Days Later***
“Hey, hey, Harry,” you chirped from where you had entered the lab that evening. You, Jesse, and Jack had returned from the mall and grocery store with multiple bags with the idea that Jack can’t just wear Thad’s clothes and he’d need his own set ASAP. So, to the mall you three went. Jesse was over the moon in figuring out how her half-brother dressed, which was a bit different than Thad. Telling Jack not to worry, you pull out Eo’s platinum card and grinned mischievously at the young adults, telling them not to tell Eo you had swiped it off him. Jesse was kind enough to sort all the groceries away while Jack filled his empty closet with his new clothes, pajamas, shoes, etc.…
“Hm?”
“What do you call a potato with a penis?”
Harry just set his glasses down and looked you dead in the eye as his body turned away from the glass board that held multiple equations, opening his mouth and closing it before asking, “… Do I even want to know?” Thaddeus had told Harry about the Negative Tachyon Enhancer and how he’s been trying to get faster. Naturally, the Earth-2 genius’ eyes skimmed over Thawne’s calculations, taking note of a few things for Jesse. The speedster kept silent on other matters though. Without a legitimate answer, how could Eobard trust that Harry won’t run back to STAR Labs with information on Fusion Link and the depths of your abilities? For now, the dark-haired man would wait and watch.
“Yes,” was your immediate and smiley response; Eobard pursed his lips as an amused glint flickered behind his eyes. He knew exactly where this was going and so did Harry. You looked too cute to Harry to be honest, so how could he refuse with the way you beamed up at him.
“What?”
“A DICtator,” you snickered at your own joke, causing Thad to stifle a laugh of his own while Harry just had a deadpanned look on his face… “Mm, mm?” You made those little noises to see if they had gotten the pun. Comedy gold.
“Ah, puns – the lowest form of humor,” Eobard chimed in, resuming his work recalibrating the Negative Tachyon Transmitter to an increased amount of tachyon density for your next session – so far, your body has been stable since starting up the first session. The villain made a note in his log that after the third session, you and he should attempt the Fusion Link to run at his max speed. It’s all about trial and error. Since their talk by the woods, Eobard had filled Harry in with certain details that had transpired so far. The speedster had left key things out should the Earth-2 genius leave and return to Team Flash. Eobard wouldn’t have your life sabotaged prematurely by Harry’s betrayal. If Barry and Iris were to find out about your two trump cards, it was more than likely they’d try out a Fusion Link of their own – but their chances of having it successfully done the first time would be slim.
“It is so not!” You pouted at your speedster fiancé as Harry turned back to the glass board with a marker in hand while you antagonized Eobard. “You like my puns.” Harry couldn’t help the little grin on his face at your positive demeanor. He had missed it so much; your radiant smiles and sass were infectious – that fire in your eyes was still present. Harry could never grow tired of seeing it. Yet, his mind recalled Gideon’s report… Harry remained silent.
“I like you, therefore I tolerate your puns. Doesn’t mean I like them,” Eobard rolled his eyes and Harry had to agree with Thawne on this one. You continued to pout seeing as these two were on the same consensus regarding your humor.
“But I make you laugh.”
“No, that overly adorable face you make after saying a pun makes me laugh.” Eobard continued working away as you looked at him with that twinkle in your eyes. An expression he caught in his periphery, but he didn’t cease working on his notes. “It’s too fucking cute. I can’t resist it and it pulls me out of my foul moods which irritates me because I would like to sulk in peace.” You pouted at his words to which he turned to you and kissed your forehead as he reached for another tool. Harry ruffled your hair before succumbing to the hug you were giving him doe-eyes for when you came up to him. Burying your face into his chest, you breathed him in a bit and relaxed in Harry’s hold, completely unaware of the thoughts at the back of his mind.
“It’s ok, mom, I think your puns are top-notch,” Thad added in, flipping through a couple of physics books at a spare table that was cluttered with lengthy and ancient-looking science books. Oh, how you wish you had superspeed to get through your To Be Read and To Be Watched lists. You really did envy the speedsters in your life because the amount of things you can learn to do and complete would be so nice and easy. Maybe I can use Fusion Form to finish my TBR list… Eo would probably make fun of me, but I don’t give a fuck. These authors need to stop killing me with all the new books they keep releasing. But at the same time I don’t want them too because these books are all so wonderfully made and thought out. A pang squeezed your heart; you missed HR and how he’d rant about his novels and ideas with that goofy smile. He was an author too…
You feigned a sniffle while placing a hand over your heart when you detached yourself from Harry. “At least someone can appreciate me.” Eobard only shook his head at your dramatics while sharing a knowing look with Harry. The speedster can tell that your forlorn demise was weighing down on Harry, but the genius had masqueraded his features pertaining to his thoughts on the matter expertly when you were present. Eobard had to hand it to Harry that he was better at it than Thaddeus, who’s clumsy and loose demeanor was enough to cover his visible or conflicted thoughts at times. You were perceptive therefore the both of them would have to tread lightly before Harry came to a decision. Harry had mused to Eobard that this seemed like an all-too-similar scenario with Iris and Savitar, but with a more prolonged chain of events in the middle. Eobard knew that clearly, already making the comparison when Thad had initially shown Gideon’s report a few nights ago. They’d have more time to work out the kinks with Thad and Jack… but that’s if Harry chooses to stay. It was one thing at a time at the present moment.
“I do appreciate you, just in different ways.” You clicked your tongue at Eobard’s comment, wiggling his eyebrows at you. Now it was Harry’s turn to roll his eyes, his jaw clenched as he erased an integral that was mistakenly added. How many times had he thought of you that way? In all those different ways that Thawne had meant? In the future Harry has all those opportunities with you, physically and emotionally – he had your heart as well as Thawne and you had theirs. You would have them both wrapped around your finger. Whether that was a good thing, or a bad thing was yet something Harry needed to determine, but that feeling of dread kept returning to the scientist that he secretly wished Thawne hadn’t shown him the future report on your death.
“Ew, ew, stop! I don’t need to hear that.” Jack complained right as he entered the lab while Thad started fake gagging. Jesse just sighed and shook her head – how exactly was she going to deal with this for a lifetime??
“So, we need to establish something.” Thad started, glancing at his siblings with a sheepish look then fully turning to you and his dads. He placed his book on top of the stack of finished books. “It’s important that this is handled now.”
“What’s up?” You crossed your arms and leaned back against the desk that Eobard was working, your eyes were fully trained on Thad. You felt the air shift inside the lab, the tension climbing steadily. Taking in a breath, you mentally prepared yourself for any abrupt news from the future. Harry was still crunching numbers in his head, but he was listening to the young speedster while facing the board. He was thankful Jesse had fully gone over Marlize DeVoe’s work to recover his intellect, although he wasn’t at 100% yet. Nevertheless, Harry’s neurons were firing rapidly more than ever, his eyes had cleared up and his mind was no longer hazy compared to four years ago. Eobard raised an eyebrow at his speedster son, intrigued to see where this was going. Jack pursed his lips and chewed on the inside of his cheek before pocketing his hands in his dark wash jeans.
Surely, he wouldn’t say anything this soon. Dad hasn’t even made decided whether to stay or not.
“Who’s getting called dad and who’s not?”
Harry lowered his marker and craned his neck to spare a shared look between you and Thawne. The tension that had built up instantly plummeted at your son’s words. “Thaddeus, what the fuck?” Jack made a narrow-eyed, bitch face at his brother while Jesse blinked at Thad with a deadpanned expression. She did see the point though, regardless if her dad chose to stay or not it was going to get confusing real quick if they didn’t establish who goes by what.
“Yeah, we didn’t need that whole ‘serious tone’ build up.” Jesse sighed, fiddling with the necklace you had gifted her four years ago during the holidays when you visited Earth-2. It was of the Northern Star. In the grand scheme of things, Thaddeus acted like the sun while Jackson was more on the side of the moon, Jesse would be the stars. Harry had told you five years ago that Jesse was the one shining star in his life that had kept him going through the years. Everything he had done was for her sake even if she did despise him. “You made it sound like someone was going to die or something.” Jesse didn’t know how close to the truth she was – a subtle glance exchanged between Harry and Eobard was made.
If only, you knew how true that was Jess.
“What? It was easier when we were younger because we were younger and Im not about to use ‘papa’ again like when we were five. I’m not some prissy French boy.” Thaddeus retorted as Jackson threw his speedster brother another incredulous look. Yeah, Jackson was definitely the more mature one between the two. “We need to address them in a way no one gets confused. Saying dad and having other dad respond is a no-go especially during covert operations.” You tilted your head at Thad’s quips, not imagining this conversation ever happening or going this way, but you decided to keep quiet.
“You can just call me Harry.”
“Or you can just call me Eobard. I really don’t mind not being called ‘dad’.”
“Mm, no. That’s not right.” Thad hummed to himself before he received a whack upside the head from Jack and Jesse. You guess it caused a lightbulb moment for your speedster son, because he brightened up in an instant after the whacks he got. “Ok, well we’ll call Harry ‘dad’ since Jesse will always call him that and call Eobard ‘Eodad’.”
You couldn’t help but snort at that to which Harry and Eobard sent you a cocked eyebrow look that had you regretting your thoughts. Eodaddy, oh lord that one’s not going to leave my brain any time soon. I should call him that when the kids aren’t around just to mess with him.
“Why are you laughing?” Eobard questioned, jabbing your side and eliciting a squeak from your lips.
“No reason,” you nibbled on your bottom lip to stop from snickering as the word ‘Eodaddy’ echoed in your mind.
“She definitely thought of something dirty,” Harry interjected, shaking his head at you and jabbing your other side, again having you squeak from the pressure applied. They both knew exactly what came to your mind.
“Uh-huh,” Eobard agreed with a sigh, his nimble fingers thumbing the notes he made, referring back to the previous page. There was a 87% chance of a positive yield in results – meaning that your body wouldn’t react so violently like the last time on the treadmill. That’s a much better yield result than a few weeks ago where the yield was 52% and initially 28%.
“How are you two getting along so quickly already???” You asked while being weirded out with how they were tag-teaming right now. They haven’t been at each other’s throat since this morning, which was a surprise because you had to diffuse a few arguments and even use your powers to physically stop them from throwing punches from getting in each other’s face. I wonder what happened? Oh god, I hope they didn’t threaten each other again. I’m so tired of their bickering already. But you loved these two dumbasses, they had your heart, and you knew nothing would be able to change that.
“Wouldn’t you like to know?” Harry winked at you, a wolfish smirk on his face before the two scientists resumed their respective works. Your three kids were already leaving the room once Harry had done that, feigning disgust, but Jack and Thad were already fist-bumping each other when they made it upstairs. Jesse was grinning to herself, following her brothers to go out tonight to the closest mini-golf arena. You pouted, rolling your eyes before using your carbokinesis to head upstairs to get dressed for the gym. It was your upper body day today. Once you had left, Harry glanced at the Eobard before shifting his gaze to the board in front of him. Lowering his marker, the Wells doppelganger’s eyes scanned his open palm as he clenched it and unclenched it as conflicting thoughts continued to run rampant in his mind. Fragments of different memories through the years surfaced to the forefront of his mind since coming to Earth-1, technically his Earth-2 as he’s said to Cisco and Barry. But…
Who am I willing to hurt to be with my family?

MASTERLIST
‘“The Darkling slumped back in his chair. “Fine,” he said with a weary shrug. “Make me your villain.”’
Biting down on your lower lip, you flipped another page in your book Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo, reading until you reached the end of the chapter to bookmark your place. A chill ran down your spine as you sat on the cot of your cell. Pulling the blanket closer around you, you shut the book and set it aside as you blinked the bleariness away from your eyes. Stretching your body a bit and cracking your back, your eyes focused on the wall beside you. Your fingertips danced on the smooth material of the wall. Your eyelids felt a little heavy. There wasn’t much to do in your cell - you seldom left it, actually. Every inmate is given the opportunity to wish for one non-lethal thing/item that would keep them entertained during their containment period. Of course, certain pieces of technology such as phones were prohibited. Lyla had found your request odd: reading material from select genres from the nearest public library. You had a feeling she had discussed it with Cisco first, seeing as he knew you much more than she and Diggle did. Of course, every page in the books you read were heavily rifled through in case you were to try to make your escape through encrypted words or hidden items. Needless to say, you disappointed the guards when they came up with nothing but fantasy smut novels and adventure books. You’re not a monster, you wouldn’t damage a book for such a trivial matter.
When you weren’t reading you were walking around your cell to stretch your legs or bring some feeling back into your body. It unnerved you that there weren’t any windows around, craving the sunlight on your skin and to watch the clouds roll by as the dusk approached. Instead, you were encased within four reinforced walls and meta-dampeners all over. When you weren’t walking around you were meditating either on your bed or by the two-way glass wall that separated you from the ex-speedster. It calmed your mind and it calmed the slight nerves in your chest from what Iris had done to you about a month and a half ago. As odd as it sounded, being imprisoned had given you a peace of mind - the quiet atmosphere didn’t bother you; it was more so a relief from the noise of Team Flash during Armageddon. It kept them away from you and you were grateful for it for the time being because should you face them again, you would not hesitate hurting Iris like she had hurt you. It’s an evil thought, you know, but the searing pain in your chest that had flooded your senses when you woke up was not something you could easily forgive and forget. You pursed your lips as your hand wandered to where Iris had shot you.The ghostly feeling of the tranquilizer in your chest had your body aching again. Just remembering the aftermath of bringing Barry to his knees, it made your skin crawl. You couldn’t deny the overwhelming rush of feeling numb all over again. It haunted you when you fell asleep at night.
Everything's slowly falling into place - it’s just a waiting game at this point.
You never really left your cell unless it was on Saturday for the dining hall. Dinner was mainly delivered to your cells at 8 AM, 12PM, and 7PM. Saturday at 8PM is the one day out of the week where inmates were given the opportunity to be human and interact with others during dinner. The first time you were let out, your fiance wouldn’t let go of your hand - it had been weeks since he had last touched you like that, since he last had you in his arms. You missed being so close to him that Saturday 8PM had become a time where you can finally have him right in front of you. No glass, no cell - in that moment, it would just be you and Eobard with some food.
Eo always made sure you were close to him; yes, he was powerless but that didn’t make him lose his instinct to keep you safe. Neither of you spoke to the other inmates and neither of you tried involving yourselves with the small skirmishes they’d find themselves in. One wrong word led to one flying fist or loose spaghetti into the air. Essentially, you two minded your own business at ARGUS, you weren’t here to draw attention. No, this part of the plan would need to be done delicately. Your eyes shifted from the wall over to your genius scientist in the neighboring holding cell. To Lyla’s surprise as well, Eo had also requested reading material, but on more academic terms. The ARGUS director didn’t take Eobard Thawne for a fool so she had the guards proceed with caution. He spent all day either pacing in his cell or reading various physics books, the ex-speedster’s mind continued to generate and compute speed calculations and human reactions.  Or at least, you assumed it was those two ideas since it’s his mind and wits that had gotten him this far. He’s ten steps ahead of the game, after all. It was also his incredible patience to endure 15 years before creating The Flash. Everything worked out in his mind, his plans factored in multiple people and various avenues. Every possibility is taken into account; every reaction can also have an equal and opposite reaction. Eobard would choose the one that best fits the situation at hand.
Eobard lowered his own literature for a moment, his eyes catching yours. You sent him a small, but warm smile with a little hand wave his way. The ex-speedster’s imprisonment did nothing to suppress just how wolfish his smirk could become when it’s accompanied by that wink of his. You felt heat rise to your face at the smirk and wink before yawning. A sure sign that a nap was on the agenda for today. Sure enough, the futuristic genius’ attention went right back to his scheming as you shifted yourself on your cot to fall asleep. Rubbing your face with your hand, you pressed the covers tightly around you to keep you warm. You shut your eyes, welcoming the darkness - you felt everything, saw everything. Every bit of carbon that hung in the air and lingered in solids; animate and inanimate, as long as the structure contained some form of carbon molecule you can sense it’s presence. The darkness in your mind did little to stop the map from forming in your head. You took in a deep breath before exhaling it slowly.

Something’s not right. The scarlet speedster set his jaw, as he rubbed his thumb along his middle and index fingers - a nervous tick. He had an arm folded close to his body as his green eyes scanned the camera feeds from your cell and Thawne’s. “They’re plotting something, I know it,” Barry broke the silence, narrowing his eyes at Thawne on the monitor. The ex-speedster continued to read in his cell unbothered while you were asleep on your cot in your respective cell. Cisco shifted his gaze to where the hero stood as he sat at the computer monitors. “They’re too quiet, that can’t be good.” It’s a good thing Iris didn’t come with me. Not after the stunt she pulled last time she faced you. I can’t believe she did that - we only agreed for one shot to happen. One tranquilizer to stop (Y/N), not kill her.
Cisco quirked a confused eyebrow at the speedster. “Need I remind you that it was your idea to have their cells arranged like this.” What were you exactly expecting when you saw them, Barry?
“I know, it’s just… Can-can we hear what’s going on? Isn’t there any audio surveillance installed??” The forensics scientist leaned over, his fingers running over keys and pressing buttons. Different windows and file documents ended up popping up on screen instead. I can’t take any chances, not like last time. I need to make sure they can’t get out this time.
“Hey hey hey,” Cisco scolded, pushing his friend’s hands away from the keyboard before he could do more harm than good. “Stop pressing things, ok? This is my area, thank you.” The mechanical scientist bit down on his lower lip as his eyes wandered back to the feed then shifting to meet Barry’s gaze. Cisco folded his hands together. “Thawne doesn’t have his speed; I ran multiple scans when he got here. You know me. Zero, zip, nothing - there’s no Negative Speed Force in any part of his body. And there’s meta-dampeners installed in every part of the vicinity, enough to make a meta feel suffocated in there.” It’d make me sick to my stomach being here too if I was still a meta. But I’m not, and… I’m thankful I’m not anymore. I’m not haunted by the past timelines and if I do have children in the future they won’t have to carry the burden that I carried. Cisco remembered what Cicada had done to his hands, the pain that seared through his skin and paralyzed him with fear. His hands ached whenever he moved or touched something. But that was two years ago. His hands were fine, he was fine. Being a hero was all fun and stuff with Barry and the others, but… the more I thought about the constant danger my life was in, the more the reality of having powers and being with Team Flash set it. Kamilla too, she was thrown into the Mirrorverse. At least here, I have some semblance of control over the things I come across in my life. “There’s no way they can escape from here, not with all the security measures in place on Sub-Level Four.”
“Cisco-”
“-They’ve been quiet since they got here, Barry. As freaky as it sounds, for a month and a half the guards hadn’t heard a peep from them. Thawne didn’t go ballistic and (Y/N) recently went to her cell from the Recovery Unit. They’ve been complacent each day and it does freak me out at times, but they can’t do anything here. They can’t hurt me or anyone else.”
“... You need to install some audio microphones because they’re plotting something and it’s not going to end well. If not for my sake, then for yours.” Because I don’t think Thawne’s forgotten about you. (Y/N) may not hurt you, but he can.
“What are they supposed to do?!” Cisco retorted as he raised his voice, a deep frown adorning his face. “You beat them, that’s it. You beat Thawne.” The speedster pocketed both hands into his jacket, rolling his eyes slightly as he craned his head to look at anything else other than his old friend. Cisco took in a breath to calm himself before speaking, “Barry, you’re my best friend and I love and respect you, but they aren’t as top priority as you’d like them to be.”
“What are you saying?” It was Barry’s turn to frown, confusion laced his features for a split second before contorting into an incredulous look. “This is Thawne we’re talking about. He’s the cause of every bad thing that’s happened to us - the source of your nightmares. He killed Ronnie and Eddie and so many others. He tortured Nash.”
“And I’ve gone to therapy for it, for all those things. With Kamilla. It took us months to heal from everything. But it’s over. Without his speed, Thawne can’t do anything. You need to let him go,” Cisco emphasized his latter statement, sending Barry a hard look.
“Cisco, please, at least-”
“Barry, as one of the Directors at ARGUS, my hands are tied. I can’t do things like I used to at STAR Labs. Things have changed and as much as I want to dissect every single thing going on between them, I can’t. I have other projects to work on.”
Barry chewed on the inside of his cheek, one of his pocketed hands balled into fists. He knew when he was being dismissed. Letting out a rough sigh, the speedster broke eye contact with his friend for a moment to take another glimpse at the camera feed. “Something in my gut tells me it’s not over. Mark my words, Cisco,” Barry uttered his last words to the ex-meta as he turned to leave Cisco’s office. The mechanical engineer watched his friend leave, clearly unconvinced by today’s revelations. Cisco fixed his gaze back onto the camera feed - nothing had changed.
***February 28th***
Cold sweat beaded your forehead as you and Eobard materialized at the front door of your apartment in Central City. You panted hard while your lungs burned, swallowing thickly as you tried to refocus your mind, but you just couldn’t. Your vision blurred and the world around you spun, your head throbbed, a sort of pounding sensation - all from the exertion you had subjected your body to. The grip you had on Eobard faltered. Arms wrapped around you tightly the moment your body started tipping backwards, Eobard steadied you against his body as gently as he could. You took a moment before fumbling to make a key. Handing the carbon key to Eobard, he unlocked the door and pushed it open with one hand. Scooping you up in his arms, the ex-speedster moved easily through your apartment to your bedroom. A chill ran down your spine causing you to shudder in his firm grip as you tiredly blinked, your eyes languidly looked around your home before your genius scientists placed you gently on the bed. The softness of the bed was a welcoming feeling compared to the uncomfortable cot you had been given at ARGUS. Your body screamed at you, waves of pain and throbbing sensations echoed through your limbs. You didn’t miss the concern behind his electric blue eyes, vacant of that red spark of electricity that lurked behind them. You missed seeing that flicker of red.
“I’ll be right back,” Eobard whispered, leaning down to kiss the top of your head. You nodded before he walked out, knowing the villain was going to rummage around to bring you some food and water. Though you doubt there was anything really edible in your fridge other than the canned food in your pantry. With every moment, your body voiced its protests as you moved your limbs under the covers. Your apartment was semi-messy from the last time you had left with Eo to time travel. Raking a hand through your hair, you took a deep breath in to relax your taut body from using your powers so much tonight.
Maybe the oreos are still good? Ugh, I can’t remember anything else that I have. I just need a minute to feel better to buy us some sushi and pizza. I’m starving. You yawned before shutting your eyes until Eobard returned. Everything worked out, I just need a good night’s sleep before using my powers again. I haven’t exhausted myself like that in a while, but I did OrgoNav from ARGUS all the way here. You blinked your eyes open, letting the dim lights in your room guide your vision into focusing. I can handle using OrgoNav over long distances like tonight, but having that coupled Molecular Obscurity and Carbon Copy creation right after finishing the decoys was a stretch even for me. The fight at STAR Labs was much easier than these past two months, but I managed to pull it off. I always do. Your head continued to pound, your body craving sleep.
Breaking out wasn’t a hard task, really. With how you articulated your powers, you effortlessly broke yourself and Eobard out at around 12 AM - the guards change of shift time. The Directors wouldn’t be at ARGUS until 5 AM and even then nothing would have been out of place; it was the perfect window. Two months, that was the amount of time it took for you to fully create Carbon Copies of yourself and Eobard. That was another reason why you kept select organic molecules near him - the Carbon Copies would swap places with the real you and Eobard in a split second. The copies remained at ARGUS to remove any suspension Cisco and Lyla might have while you navigate out of ARGUS with Eo in your grip. The camera feed hadn’t picked up an anomaly or sudden disturbance or else you and Eobard would have known when you were using your OrgoNav (Organic Navigation) under Molecular Obscurity for camouflage. Normally, in the presence of Team Flash you’d use Molecular Obscurity to manipulate the color of your carbon to black - giving the false pretense that your powers were pure shadows and umbra. It gave you a significant edge, one that you would continue to exploit. To break out, you simply camouflaged yourselves to the surrounding area as you made it out of ARGUS and all the way to Central City via OrgoNav.
The unique thing about your mirror images was that they weren’t lifeless, no they would also mimic past behaviors as well as mannerisms in order to fool the cameras and guards. You didn’t just replicate the body, you replicated the mind and sentiments - they would slowly disintegrate into molecular particles in three months' time. Normally, you’d be only capable of creating one Carbon Copy of yourself easily in the span of two minutes. However, two seemed to be the extent of what you can do in a given time of two months with all the concentration and meditating you had been doing. Making Eobard’s Carbon Copy was much more difficult than you had expected as it didn’t stem from your own body. As for the meta-dampeners, your powers had exceeded the limitations those dampeners placed on metahumans. You only feigned to have the dampeners affect your body, keeping carbon molecules close to your being.
They still think my powers are shadow based, they truly can’t comprehend the amount of power I hold at the palm of my hands - at the center of my existence.
“We’ll rest here for the night,” Eobard’s low voice broke you out of the trance you were in. He had a plate of Ritz crackers with some peanut butter along with a bowl of soup. The villain didn’t miss how tired you looked, how you sleepily lulled your head to the side to meet his gaze.  “We’ll head to Keystone in the morning.” That secondary location will come in handy, Barry only uses his satellites to scan for things in Central City as that is his jurisdiction. He wouldn’t think of stepping foot in Keystone since I’ve not given any leads that would point him to that place. And with Gideon destroyed he wouldn’t be able to have the AI find us. Yes, things are slowly coming together.
You’re surprised none of the nonperishables had already expired. You bit your lip as you took the bowl from him, you blew on the soup for a bit as the ex-speedster came around to the other side of the bed, “There wasn’t anything edible in the fridge, right?”
“Not a damn thing. I managed to throw out all the molded foods.”
“I mean, we have been gone for like… three months. Plus the time we spent in Reverse Flashpoint.” Eobard crinkled his nose at the mention of that time point, causing you to giggle because he truly did not appreciate being so close to Iris and her god awful cooking. The genius threw a look your way only making you laugh even more as you took a spoonful of chicken noodle soup. He just needed to siphon off the Speed Force’s particles into his body so when the timeline reverted those particles would be easily consumed by the Negative Speed Force to have his speed on par with Barry. The villainous ex-speedster munched on the peanut butter crackers knowing that it would suffice for now, but the two of you would need real food before you used your OrgoNav to get you and him to Keystone. “I think I’m alright to grab some sushi.” You weren’t, you were craving sleep so badly.
Your statement caused your man to raise an incredulous eyebrow at you, “At 1 AM??”
“Uh, how many years have we been engaged??? You know I have no problems waking up in the morning and having sushi for breakfast.”
“And you call my Big Belly Burger obsession weird.”
“Touche, but hey, you knew what you were signing up for before we dated. Need I remind you the door is right there.”
The villain only rolled his eyes at you as you finished up your soup. Eobard watched you as you set the bowl beside you, your hands still shook. “I wouldn’t trade you for anything in the world,” he muttered before taking one of your hands into his. There was a slight tremor in his grip, Eo sighed as he brought your hand to his lips. He placed little kisses tenderly on your skin. You cuddled yourself in his arms as he buried his face in your hair to breathe you in. A wave of relief washed over him as you two laid like that on your bed. The dark-haired man ran his fingers down your spine. A tear slipped from his eye as Eo pulled you even closer to him. “I’m sorry.” You pulled away to meet his gaze. Pursing your lips, you wiped the stray tear that had left him. It had been awhile since you had seen this expression on Eobard’s face - relief mixed with guilt and hurt, but something much darker and malicious, some unforgivable emotion. Something that had the genius feeling numb on the inside as sinister rage fueled his every thought back when he had found your broken and beaten body in one of Eilling’s underground bunker cells. All to get back at Wells for ruining the plans he had for Grodd and psychic abilities for the military.
“For what?”
“For not having my speed. For… being weak.”
“Eo-”
“-I couldn’t protect you from Iris. I couldn’t stop those Speedster Tranquilizers.”
“But you’ve protected me so many other times in the past!”
I would destroy everyone in my path if it meant securing your safety and happiness. “That doesn’t excuse this time. I-I could have lost you. My inability to harness my newfound speed and my existence allowed your life to be in jeopardy. I almost lost you again.” You knew what he was referring to. Back in Reverse Flashpoint, the timeline retaliated against him through you by weakening your heart day by day spent in 2031 with Eobard. “When I get my speed back, mark my words, they will pay. Each and every member of Team Flash.” Barry and Iris will pay for harming you. The venom in his words and the fierce fire in his eyes caused a dark feeling to stir in your stomach, one that you pressed close to because this fire wouldn’t burn you. This fire would turn back into lightning.
You pursed your lips, remaining silent for a moment as his words rang deeply within you. The intensity in those electric blue eyes never wavered as you gently kissed the villain. “I love you, Eobard.”
“And I love you, (Y/N).” I will always love you.
Pushing forward to lay your head against his chest, you shut your eyes as your body succumbed to sleep and exhaustion. That night Eobard was finally able to fall asleep with you securely in his arms. That night villain didn’t have to be a villain, but a broken man with his love in his arms.
***March 1st***
“I know that look.” You sighed, unfurling your arms and placing them on your hips, Eobard’s smirk only widened further. That red spark may have been gone but his electric blue eyes still flickered with mischief and intelligence. You had only taken four steps into the basement lab, your eyes catching all the calculations and equations along with theories on multiple glass boards. “What do you want me to steal?”
The two of you had made it to Eo’s small home in Keystone approximately 12 hours ago. The villain had contracted the home eight years ago when he was still under the guise of Harrison Wells at the time Barry was still in his coma (to which he watched over Barry like a hawk). He first brought you to this place Christmas night, the same night he used a Speed Mirage to set the stage in order to steal McGee’s tachyon enhancer. You remembered your fiance had told you should you need a place to lay low, this would be it. Which he had been doing more frequently since escaping Earth-X’s clutches four years ago. A calculated risk to put his life in Barry’s hands during that fight, but he knew the hero wouldn’t kill him with his own hands. Unfortunately for Barry, his hands were stained with the blood of others indirectly unlike Eobard who kills out of necessity. Leaving at 5 AM had been the best time as there were fewer souls out on the streets. After arriving you left the ex-speedster to his own devices in order to sleep more to fully recover the colossal energy expenditure you had exuded the night prior. The dark-haired genius had left you in order to buy some food, much slower than when he had his speed, but he didn’t let those thoughts deter him from grabbing you your sushi and some triple berry pancakes.
“It’s multiple things actually, but I need to know you’re fully recuperated in order to proceed with phase four of the plan.”
You bit your lip before responding, “Eo, I won’t lie to you, I might need another night’s rest before doing anything back to back again. Just one night and I can get you whatever materials you need to get your speed back.” The ex-speedster nodded, he wouldn’t push you if you didn’t feel well. He could wait another night before phase four was set into motion. The first had been setting up Reverse Flashpoint and siphoning off as much speed from the Speed Force into his body before the timeline could be reverted. The second was allowing Barry to take his speed away in order to not only allow Eobard’s existence within this new permanent timeline, but for the Negative Speed Force to collectively couple it’s power with the new speed tachyons his fragmented body had managed to siphon off. The third phase had been allowing you to enter ARGUS facility and use your powers to map out the entire area in order to locate the Balyut Prism as well as an escape route. “So, run this through me?” You gestured with a little grin to the blueprints on the table and multiple books lying around. Progress was slow, just like it had been 23 years ago, but this time Eobard had you by his side much sooner than when he initially started STAR Labs.
“As you know, without my speed I’m going to need to rely on you to be my eyes and feet.” The villain adjusted his black-clear framed glasses before eyeing what he had drawn up.
“Naturally.”
“The Negative Speed Force is my creation, no one has access to it except for me.”
You furrowed your eyebrows as a thought hit you. “What about Nora? Because she’s back and everything from this newer timeline so…”
Eobard shook his head, “When the timeline erased her from existence the first time it erased the Nora that would then take that path to finding me, instead a new Nora West-Allen was reborn without tampering with my Negative Speed Force. I essentially can sense any speedster around, especially if they have my Speed Force in their veins.”  Your eyes glanced over the board that illustrated a timeline with splintering points. Ones caused by him, Barry, Nora, and the Crisis. He had mapped out every key event and key turning point that had led to now. Eobard gestured to the current timeline splinter point as he continued explaining, “Which, in this newer timeline, is highly unlikely. The Negative Speed Force is not compatible with any other host except for myself. Without myself or a temporary host, I estimate that it would take seven weeks for the Negative Speed Force to begin dissipating into tachyons and particles to then merge with Barry’s Speed Force.”
Hm, if that’s the case then we’d need to work fast to prevent that. From what I’m gathering from all this it could power Barry up even more. “You keep saying ‘host’, what happens if it finds one?”
“Should my Speed Force find a host then it would be a temporary one. It would feed off of the host’s life force and negative-based emotions. Inevitably it’ll kill that person until it finds me again as I am it’s source creator. I’m the only one that can withstand the Negative Speed Force.”
Realization dawned on you as your eyes lit up, the words dancing off your tongue, “You’re going to use yourself as a beacon.” You turned to meet his eyes. Eobard loved to see that flicker of light burn in your eyes as you quickly caught onto each and everyone of his schemes. “Just like with Nash.”
“Yes and no. In Nash Wells’ case, I simply needed to overwhelm him with his negative emotions and take control of his body to summon the Negative Speed Force with the negative tachyons bound to my life. I don’t have any negative tachyons since Barry short-circuited my Speed Force.” The villain stepped towards another board that exhibited various equations along with a blueprint drawing attached to the glass for some sort of holding glass pod with multiple tubes leading from it. “All I need to do is simply duplicate the electrochemical situation I had done in the future to get my speed back.”
“We’re going to do the same thing Harry did six years ago when Barry gave his speed back to Zoom.” You paused, a troubling thought crossed your mind as you began to fiddle with the necklace around your neck. “We’re going to set off another Particle Accelerator explosion??”
“No, not exactly. I already factored in that problem with three viable power sources that should propel the dark matter to flood my system again,” Eobard clarified as he gestured for you to approach the desk he had been mainly working at. The ex-speedster rifled through different papers, old papers - familiar ones. You were sure these were the same papers and journals Barry had gone through when Savitar was around. The dark-haired man pointed to different diagrams of a few pieces of tech. “This is where you come in; I need you to steal two things from STAR Labs and a certain sealed item from ARGUS.”
“Ok, what exactly am I looking at?”
“The first is the Energy Sphere I kept in my Time Vault, I’ll need that to power up the generator that I’m constructing. The second is the Tachyon Amplified I had built for my wheelchair, there should be some negative tachyon residue on them. It’s as good a starting point as any.”
“I think both of them are in the STARchives, easy. They don’t really have the labs as guarded as they’d like. So it should be no problem slipping in and out with those two things.”
“The third item I need is the Balyut Prism.”
You gestured with a hand for your man to continue, “And that does?”
Eo directed your attention to the computer monitor on the side  that held multiple files open with, all with ARGUS’ seal on each document. “The Balyut Prism is… an odd object that appeared in Coast City after the Second Crisis. ARGUS got their hands on it with the premise of researching it’s sudden appearance and uses. I’ve already hacked into ARGUS’ mainframe for reports and all I can find is that it contains certain levels of dark matter laced with electric energy and hydrogen protons. It’s deemed too dangerous to use in any project by our very own Director Ramon.”
“And you’ve found a way to manipulate it once you get your hands on it.” You placed a hand on Eo’s and gave it a small squeeze. “Icarus isn’t flying too close to the sun with this?” Concern laced your voice as you looked at him with tender eyes. A droplet of fear started spreading like a fire at the pit of your stomach.
“I’m in the process of building the technology sufficient enough to harness it’s power. I’m not planning on dying, again.”
“You’ve died like… twice.”
“And yet the Negative Speed Force keeps bringing me back to carry out my purpose.”
“Being Barry Allen’s pain in the ass and my inevitable headache.”
“Yet you love me dearly, my sweet little bird,” Eobard retorted with that ornery smirk plastered to his handsome face. You felt him plant a delicate kiss to your forehead. “You still have the map?”
“Of course I have the map.” You took in a breath, willing the carbon in the air to become concentrated and solidified. Eobard watched you with rapt attention as you manipulated the particles into assembling a carbon-styled map of ARGUS. In his opinion, this way of making a map was much nicer than any computer could make but that’s because he has heart eyes for you. “Don’t you have access to ARGUS’ security system?”
“I do, but you’ll need something to rely on should our comms fail.”
He does have a point, but I won’t say it out loud so as to not inflate his already large ego. “What about your suit?”
“I have a backup suit. Barry’s not the only one with another suit lying around.”
“Good and this time, put the yellow to black contrast. It’s more your style than just yellow. Like wow, it hurt my eyes looking at you. You looked like you shanked a tree and it dumped all it’s pollen on you in retaliation.” You took in a little breath as your eyes moved to all the blueprints and glass boards once more. Mentally, you felt exhausted. You were about ready to throw in the towel once things were finished here. Meaning, you just needed some time for yourself. Just you and Eobard. No Flash business, no scheming, no constant threat looming over the two of you. We could finally elope. “After you get your speed, I want a few months away.”
Eobard suggested as he capped his marker, “The Maldives?” The genius villain brought you into his embrace, your arms wrapping around him comfortably.
“No, Fiji, and I don’t care what other plans you have in ruining Barry’s life. I need a break from all this and so do you,” you mumbled, shutting your eyes and taking him in. “I want time away from Central City and Team Flash and I will get time away from them.” I just want time for us to be a normal couple before Fate has you facing Barry again. I just want time away with you and only you, Eo.
“I’m not objecting.”
“Yeah, you better not.”

MASTERLIST
Part 1    Part 2
The speedster narrowed his eyes at the object that sat in the formal living room. Eobard threw a look of daggers as he stepped closer to the instrument. It was midday when his fingers lightly dragged on the grand piano’s ivory keys, not a sound was made from them. The flap to the grand piano was open, allowing anyone that passed by it to observe the strings and hammers as they danced to create such harmonic tones under a skilled touch. A breath left Eobard as he pressed down on a key; F natural of the tenor-bass octaves. He loathed the instrument, yet here it was in front of him. His mind wandered, remembering the first time he had played – Eobard had fallen in love with classical music. Certain pieces of Bach and Tchaikovsky relaxed Eobard as he progressed expertly with his studies of astrophysics and quantum mechanics at such a young age. The genius’ parents didn’t bat an eye at the pieces he’d perform for them such as Flight of The Bumblebee by Korsakov, so the child genius put down the case of the grand piano.
What was the point in keeping up with the notes?
The speedster had a hand in his jacket pocket as the hand that lightly drummed on the keys pushed the next key over, E flat this time. It was no secret that Eobard’s grandmother loved him. She had been the one that would check up on how he was doing in his studies. Grandmother Carina was the one who had coaxed him into playing once more, she simply adored the pieces he’d perform for her – he’d play at every family function she was present at. The child relished in that proud smile his grandmother would show him. She adored Eobard when he was a child, giving him the love his mother and father only showed Robern. Robern was… The dark-haired man frowned; he couldn’t really remember his brother anymore. Whether that was a good thing or not, Eobard shrugged it off; his brother’s existence didn’t matter to him. When Eobard’s grandmother had passed, he found himself broken and unable to stand the notes on the pages propped up by the grand piano’s stand. The one family member that believed in him, who didn’t sneer in his direction for being gifted or send envious eyes his way, had left him for the next world. He was utterly alone again. Eobard remembered the indifference in his mother’s eulogy, the emotions of sadness were feigned on her face, but they never reached her eyes. A look he was all too well aware of as she’d do the same with such fake smiles and masked happiness at his award ceremonies that she’d rather not attend with her husband. Her mother had died, and all Eobard saw in his mother’s demeanor was ‘Good riddance, she did more harm than good’. He recalled being invited at the age of nine to join the Central City Orchestra – the then child prodigy declined. It wouldn’t have wavered the hearts of his parents; they still had looked at him with cruel disappointment. There was no love in their hearts for Eobard, just Robern.
“Eo,” the soft voice pulled the speedster out of his thoughts, blinking for a moment before turning back to the direction of the voice. You stood at the doorway, a hand resting on the frame as your curious eyes met his. The genius imposter pressed his lips to a thin line as you came up to him, his eyes wouldn’t meet yours. You glanced at the piano right as he had retracted his hand to clench and unclench it a few times. “Do you know how to play?”
“Not like I used to.”
“Oh, I doubt that.”
“Do you now?” Eobard remarked, raising an eyebrow at you as he pressed down on another key hesitantly, D natural. You liked the sound of that octave’s note, it pleased your ears.
“Did something happen?”
“How do you know something happened?
“Because I know you, Eo. You’re feeling tense and moving a bit rigidly.” You fiddled with your hand when silence flooded the room, his eyes were on the instrument again. Placing a hand on his upper arm, you gave it a little squeeze before you started speaking, “If… you don’t want to tell me, that’s ok, when you’re ready we can talk. I’m here to listen. And if it’s something you’d rather keep to yourself, that’s also ok.” You didn’t expect an answer right away from the villain, instead maneuvering your body to head to the door. Caitlin had texted you earlier to grab some things for the lab because Cisco and Barry ate all the snacks because she was missing some supplies and the lounge fridge was running low on food.
Eobard grabbed your hand gently before you could leave, leading you to the piano to take a seat before he sat beside you. Not yet, he’d tell you, but just not yet. There were too many thoughts going on in his mind – too many critical voices he had suppressed that were threatening to come back. He just needed your presence to repel them back into nothing. You watched the dark-haired man carefully, noting how he wouldn’t meet your gaze as his fingers expertly positioned themselves on the ivory keys. The speedster thought for a moment, the tips of his fingers padded the keys lightly. A few notes bounced in the air as his mind processed what he’s about to do. Could he be able to play again? If he could, what would he play? His mind mulled over the music compositions in his head but kept drawing blanks. Was he even as skilled as he was all those years ago? From the corner of his eye, he saw you observe him with that perplexed glimmer in your eyes. Taking in a breath, the speedster’s fingers started to move at a gentle pace.
You kept your hands folded in your lap, seeing the calm focus and just shutting your eyes for a brief moment. Each note made your skin crawl, but in a good way. The notes weren’t ominous, but they weren’t light or bouncy as some pieces can be. It was… just right. Familiar. Had you heard this somewhere before? Raking your brain, you couldn’t figure out where you’d heard such tunes, but you loved the Frisson effect it had on your being. A feeling of Frisson - The phenomenon of chills or goosebumps that come from a piece of music (or from any other aesthetic experience). It was not a peculiar feeling to you.
“What classical piece was that?”
“It’s not as classical as you’d think,” Eobard responded, fingers twitching – a little sore from not playing after all these years. “It’s by Yiruma, River Flows In You. It was the piece that was playing at the gala that night; the second time I had met you that month.” You remembered that night vividly. It had been the second time you met Harrison, but you hadn’t learned his secret yet – no, that incident would be revealed a few months into Barry Allen’s coma. Actually, you hadn’t known who Harrison Wells was until said man spooked you while Cisco was giving you a tour of the labs for your orientation as you were a new hire and he had felt burnt out from his current project with Ronnie. You had applied to STAR Labs along with Mercury Labs and other medical facilities in the city before moving. When you had moved, you were so preoccupied with all the boxes and furniture to be placed in your apartment that you hadn’t had the time to really explore the city except for bumping into a strange and clumsy-looking man on your way to a coffee shop called Jitters. That awkward stranger would become a beacon of hope for Central City. But that was a reminiscing story for another time.
You rested your head against his shoulder, feeling him press a kiss on the top of your head and wrapping an arm around you. “Why me? You whispered as he pulled you closer to himself.
“Hm?”
The speedster planted another kiss, this time on the crown of your head before breathing you in for a moment.“That night – why did you choose me? Why did you include an invitation with the application acceptance letter?” You knew he knew of Caitlin and Cisco’s future development of powers, more of a reason to keep them close as well as understanding that their skill set, and expertise would assist in creating Team Flash. In doing so, there would be some hesitation in fighting the villain who they’d grown so close to. Obviously with this timeline there could be delays, but it seemed that Caitlin hadn’t been affected at all by the dark matter in triggering Killer Frost’s awakening, except the speedster had an inkling about Cisco should the conditions be right. Eobard had yet to see what would become of the mechanical engineer as his power would be something to be wary of, especially with the closeness that he’s developed between Barry and Joe. Joe was not someone to be trifled with, he’s a detective and as such he’s very good at his job.
“If you’re asking if I knew who you’d become in the future, then no. There was no trace of who you’d become. There was no mention of anyone who can manipulate or alter carbon molecules in the textbooks I studied. You were neither hero nor villain.” You were just a normal person that hadn’t fallen to Barry’s code of heroes with the others. You nodded at his words as he took in a breath, his arm that was wrapped around you dropped to now hold your hand. Raising your head, your eyes met his gaze as you intertwined your fingers together. “As for the invitation, I was curious as to who you’d be exactly. That day you ran into me at Jitters and all the coffee that was spilled, your file was the first application of many that I opened up that morning. I didn’t know your name or who you were. But when I opened that file, I had a name to a face and my gut pushed me to hire you for the clinical position. You would be the one that my scientists would turn to for any injuries. You had the right qualifications and experience.” There was just something about the fire in your eyes that pulled me in when we had the coffee incident. I couldn’t pass you up to another facility, not when I felt that spark when your hand grazed mine. It wasn’t any ‘romantic’ spark, it was a legitimate spark – a response from the Negative Speed Force.
“And the gala?”
“What? You act like you weren’t happy to see me,” he sent you a teasing grin to which you rolled your eyes at. It was that same teasing look the night he pulled you away from that couple that tried to harass you at the masquerade gala.
“How’d you know it was me?”
“You could say that fate pulled our strings together.”
“Hm, this is coming from the same elusive man who’s like ‘Fate is tricky’ and ‘there will be a reckoning’ or ‘my goals are beyond your understanding’,” you retorted, mocking his words and trying to imitate him with those phrases he’s said before.
“… I was looking for you.”
“You wanted to spook me, didn’t you?”
“Innocent until proven guilty, my little bird.” It goes without saying that the night at the charity gala didn’t go without any… dilemmas. Eilling was lurking around eyeing Harrison’s person of interest, someone he wanted to use to cripple Eobard’s house of cards, but the general would ultimately fail for ever crossing lines to use you to get to the genius speedster. What goes around will come around. Eobard wouldn’t let anyone lay a hand on you and Eilling, for what he had done months ago, would pay the price. For now, he had to deal with Hartley Rathaway and his personal vendetta against Harrison Wells, who cast him out like the lowly pawn that he was at the time. It was essential, another foe for The Flash coming to life.
“Eo?”
“Yes, my love?”
“I’d love it if you could play for me again,” You simply smiled, the feelings of warmth reached his face as you kissed his lips sweetly before moving to get up. “Now come on, we’re needed at the labs. Cisco and Barry finished all the snacks again.”
*** End Flashback ***
And I had…
The ex-speedster eyed the other side of his cell as he sat on his cot that remained by the wall. The cold, unforgiving concrete pressed against his back, he ignored the shiver that ran down his spine. Eobard exhaled through his nostrils; his icy blue eyes narrowed at the glass on the other side of where his cot was placed. Beyond the glass was darkness and Eobard can only draw up a few guesses on what lay on the other side. ARGUS surveyed his every movement just as it does with the other inmates, but unlike his imprisonment in Iron Heights – for the speedster had no powers to pose a threat but to count his days until his looming extinction. However, he noticed that he was monitored visually and not through auditory means. There were no windows in the cell and once the doors were shut, the locks were reinforced three times over. Once by passcode, a second by an eye scan, and a third by an ARGUS high ranking official card. Such maximum security for a man like me, how endearing. Lyla and Diggle were the ones to see the ex-speedster into his cell, throwing disgusted and hostile glances his way, but he didn’t spare them any words other than ensuring your safety in recovery. Eobard’s brain was already at work right as he set foot into his respective cell.
The villain held his breath once the muffled noises of turning locks and the creaking door broke the silence in the air, alerting the lithe man. Light filtered into the dark cell beyond the glass from the doorway, the automatic light turned on in the opposite cell right as Eobard shifted up and off his bed. Beyond the glass was another cell, fully illuminated and mirrored exactly like his. “My love,” the villain whispered to himself as his eyes widened in relief and his heart squeezed tightly in his chest. He took a few steps closer to the glass as the dark-haired man watched your tired form meander into the cell, gritting his teeth when the guards shoved you further into the cell and onto the ground. Your clothes hung a bit loosely on your body, your face was gaunt, and your eyes didn’t twinkle with fire as they used to – instead they directed such malice towards your captives. You had been taken to ARGUS’ medical unit right when arriving at ARGUS with the agents that had swarmed the Speed Lab, your body had begun to spasm from the two speedster tranquilizers Iris had shot you with. That was a month weeks ago; it had taken that long for your body to stabilize and rehabilitate – every second felt like an eternity without you even with the absence of his speed. Eobard’s surprised Lyla had mercy on you to give you such a period of time to recuperate. The guards unlocked your meta-cuffs before shutting you in, his heart stung at the sunken expression from the side profile of your face. Your shoulders sagged, a breath leaving you as you caught sight of him and the glass. The glass that separated him from you and you from him – so far and yet out of reach. Approaching the glass, Eobard mirrored your movements until his hand was the first to press against the cool material, palm pressed down against it as his gaze met yours. With lips pressed thinly, you moved your shaky hands to rest against his, a little glimmer of light flickering behind your eyes as if you two can finally touch.
“I miss you,” You finally spoke up in a whisper, not knowing if he’d be able to hear you or not. Eobard’s insides twisted at seeing you after so long.
“I miss you too,” your fiancé licked his lips, noticing that they hadn’t confiscated your ring. The questioning scrutiny in his eyes made you nod in response, sending him a sign that said that you ‘weren’t 100% in tip-top health, but I'm managing with what I can at the moment’. “You don’t know how much I want to have you in my arms.”
“Trust me, I know,” you moved your hand away from where his larger hand was against the glass, your neck aching for you to crack it. Eobard retracted his hand, folding them behind him and standing resolutely. Your eyes raked over every detail of your villainous murder speed husband ex-speedster, his hair had dulled but there was that intelligent and cunning spark to his eyes even if he didn’t have his speed. Eobard Thawne’s mind was an enigma to behold and his ambitions were a force to be reckoned with. “I want you to hear you play when we get back,” you added on before cracking your neck and sitting on the ground. Your legs were aligned to the glass as Eobard moved to sit by the glass as well, across from you. Once again, the two of you mirrored each other in your respective cells. The irony – one could say two sides of the same coin.
“Your wish is my command, my love.”
“Can they hear us?” You sent a subtle look to the cameras on his side. Four, one in every corner of his cell; you can assume it was the same for yours too.
“No, from what I can observe they only seem to visually monitor us – ARGUS has been struggling with certain funds from the government for dealing with some of… our other inmates. We technically aren’t on their top priority list even if Barry willed it. I’m a no longer a speedster and you’re supposed to be incapacitated.” A low chuckle escaped Eobard’s lips, as he cocked an eyebrow at you. “How could we ever escape?” You understood the look he gave, ‘play along’ - it was all part of his elaborate plan.
“That doesn’t mean we won’t have some trouble on the way out.”
“You’re very right, my little bird,” Eobard remarked, eyes flickering to the ceiling of his room then to yours. He noted the vibrant blue hue that resided on the outline of the ceiling of the cell. Meta-dampeners in place. “But that doesn’t mean that it wouldn’t be anything short of fun.” You rolled your eyes at your fiancé’s words, you but couldn’t deny the little smile that adorned your face as his smirk turned into a small grin. Placing a hand over your chest, it felt like the second tranquilizer was still there - still debilitating your ability to think and breathe. You narrowed your eyes at the ground, the phantom pain echoed in your body even if the serum was fully extricated from you.
“I was out for about a month…”
“And I hated every moment of it.”
“Did you play nice?” you remarked, sending the dark-haired man a teasing smile.
“I did it with you in mind.”
“Judging by the structure of the facility and the lack of windows on this level, I think we’re underground. Lyla had been with me, I think she feels a bit sorry for me.” Team Flash and the other heroes may think that you were under Eobard’s thumb, under his direction and influence - just another pawn, but they were sadly mistaken. Eobard may come up with the plans, but he runs them all through you and you’re the one to play devil’s advocate. The two of you acted in sync, as equals. The queen was just as strong and smart as the king. You’re the Black Queen in this game of chess and your power would not be limited by such. Breathing in, you felt every bit of carbon molecule that lingered in ARGUS from your cell, licking your lips. “I can see everything.”
“Don’t strain yourself now, you’re still recovering.”
“I’ll be fine, I just need some sleep.”
There will be a reckoning.
Their first mistake was locking Eobard up in a technologically advanced facility like ARGUS. Their second mistake was imprisoning you with the ex-speedster, allowing you to walk the halls with the guards guiding you to your containment cell where you eyed every structure that you passed. Their third mistake was having your cell right beside his, only a thick wall of glass separating you two and with no means to have any auditory surveillance. Their fourth mistake was continuing their assumption of your powers, ‘shadows’ rarely lingered in your room. But your power wasn’t umbra-based as you had misled ARGUS, misled Barry and Team Flash for years. And their fifth mistake? That they underestimated the layered plan that further moved intricately in Eobard’s mind. The layered plan that had been put into motion the moment the villain set foot in Central City Precinct while you sat on the balcony railings to watch your fiance’s theatricals.
I am always one step ahead, Flash.

Part 1    Part 3
“Flash, we got less than 30 seconds to save Thawne before the timeline resets.”
“All right, get ready, Chester, I'm on my way.”
You tried to stop your bottom lip from quivering as you stood right in front of Eobard, the speedster in the containment cell. Your throat felt dry and blood pounded in your ears as the clock ticked. Your eyes glistened in the light of the labs as you couldn’t keep your eyes off him. Your fiancé was fading in and out more frequently; less than 30 seconds and he’d be gone. The team had a timer running and so were your nerves. “No, it can’t end like this,” you whispered with balled up fists, your nails cut into your skin. You dared not to look at the others, especially Iris, for you knew that they initially intended to let your man die. Could you blame them? No, but they would never allow a life to be lost even if it was Eobard, for that would change not just the team but Barry and Iris personally. His death would be another one on their hands – a man that came to them to save his life. You shut your eyes for a brief moment, thinking back to your conversation with Eobard. Everything would be alright – if there’s a will, there’s a way. He knows what he’s doing. He’s Eobard Thawne, the smartest man alive in this time and in his. He’ll always be 10 steps ahead of you, Team Flash. No matter what problem he’s faced with, he’ll always adapt and adjust, like he’s always done. Eobard’s eyes never left yours, all that mattered to him was how you looked at him now, while his life was barely hanging by a thread.
Iris chewed on her bottom lip, eyeing your every move should you manipulate the shadows in the room to strike. While the markswoman does have some sympathy for what you were going through once again, this time Iris won’t forgive you for all the terror Thawne had wrought onto her family – for you to choose him after all this time. Love really is blind. But Iris can’t help the pity in her heart at your suffering once again. You could never have more than a few stable moments with the man you love without something threatening his existence. Then again, he brings it onto himself. If only Thawne could back the fuck off, then everyone would be happy. I still think he deserves to die, that would be one less problem we’d have to face with the whole Despero ordeal.
Caitlin held nothing but annoyance in her being – the feeling of cold anger at all he’s done and said to her two hours prior. The biochemical scientist could care less about what happens to him, but Joe was right, Thawne’s death could change them when it could be prevented on their parts. They’d turn just like him. Brushing her hair out of her face, the scientist can at least relish in the fact that he had once again been reduced to something similar to an aberration – a fitting punishment for messing with the timeline. She can only hope that her friend would learn from this.
The pain that flooded the genius speedster’s body had become suffocating; his breathing had become forced at this point. He rarely felt his hands and his chest felt hollow, the speedster’s legs were the last things keeping him up. “My speed,” Eobard’s voice cracked, that subtle narrowing in his eyes was something only you would understand. The sounds of crackling lightning and the whiplash gust of wind greeted you and the others as Barry had sped into the Speed Lab. Snapping your head back, your eyes met Barry’s as you pushed those tears back. You wouldn’t let them see you beat - you wouldn’t show any sign of weakness, not in front of them. They lost the right to be called your family and to see you so vulnerable. The speedster took in a breath as he eyed your crest-fallen expression and Thawne’s desperation. What had replaced the bitterness behind your eyes was a small glimmer of hope for him to save the love of your life. “I need more time,” the genius speedster had whispered. A pleading request, but the villain knew there was none left to spare him. The timeline had been malleable indeed, bending to his every whim, but Barry’s use of the Time Stone changed that.
“You're out of time, Thawne.”
“Calibration complete,” Chester updated everyone in the room; the team was huddled around the Speed Lab’s monitors. Allegra stood right by where Chester sat – Cecile and Iris stood by each other while Caitlin stood to Allegra’s side, who had a tablet constantly scanning the anomalies that were triggered with Eobard’s body with his temporal fades. Allegra and Chester didn’t really know Thawne, but they could tell how on edge the rest of their friends were around his presence. You, on the other hand, they knew. The Monitor had pulled you off Earth-1 before it was consumed by anti-matter to help save Nash from The Anti-Monitor’s realm, something about your life tied to the lifeline of the Wells. Or that was the explanation that was given to the two of them when you returned to STAR Labs that day and not in cuffs or locked away in the pipeline. While you still opposed Team Flash by siding with Thawne the previous two years, you never made a move to hurt or sabotage them – you wouldn’t kill them either, it violated your code of neutrality. Though you sided with Thawne, they heard you only interfered to even out the playing field by restraining the others for Barry and Eobard to hash things out. Which was something Barry was not a fan of even as they had let you go to resume your life, whatever that pertained to be of, especially with how indebted he was to you for your and Thawne’s contributions in apprehending Godspeed with him. “Go for it.”
You could tell none of them looked particularly happy about their morally right decision. The despise that was sown in you had only grown into a haunting flower of disappointment; how could you have been with these people for so long?
“On my mark, lower the shield.” I can’t believe I’m doing this, but this evens things out. I don’t owe them anything now.
“Wait, what are you going to do?” You shifted your gaze back to your ex-best friend with confusion laced on your face, the speedster licked his lips as he took a half step back but with a steeled expression on his face. “Barry.”
“I’m going to take his speed away,” he answered solemnly, hazel-green hues shifting back to where Thawne stood with a pained expression as he faded in and out once more then remaining tangible for a few seconds longer.
“No!” Came Eobard’s infuriated response with a step towards you and Barry in his as your heart dropped in your chest, eyes widening at Barry’s resolve.
“It’s the only way to save you, Thawne.”
“There’s always another way, Allen.”
“Quit running your mouth, you idiot.” Your abrupt words caused whatever words that Eobard was about to fire at Barry to die in his mouth; shell-shocked at the deafening wrath that escaped with your words. His eyebrows rose at the daggers you threw at him. Eobard swore his mind ‘that’s hot’, but now was definitely not the time for those thoughts. “I can’t lose you – we don’t have time for this,” you placed heavy emphasis on the first part of your words as your eyes softened from the glare you had sent him. Glancing back at Barry your ‘shadows’ instantly circled around him in sharp, deadly bands while shards of ‘darkness’ floated hazardously in the air. No one moved a muscle. Barry schooled his expression at you as you glowered dangerously at the scarlet speedster while he refused to move a centimeter in case you'd stab the vital muscle in his leg again. He felt sweat collect at the back of his neck, chilling his skin at the sharp blades of ‘umbra’ pointed in every direction, one so close to his face that it almost pricked his nose. “Should you hurt him then I will not hesitate to kill you.” The threat hung tightly in the air as your ‘darkness’ disappeared to let him commence with his plan. You released a shaky breath and rolled your shoulders before your eyes landed on where the team stood, the threat extended to them as well whether they anticipated it that way or not. Eobard would not be harmed. The stage was set – the actors were all in place for the final scene of the closing act. The script had been written eloquently; he knew this would be the only way that Barry would come up with and he was willing to go through it with, but not without some theatrics for legitimacies sake. The rising action of the final act.
“You need to stand back, or you’ll get caught in the crossfire,” Barry fired back in a low voice accompanied by a scowl. With pursed lips you took a few reluctant steps off to the left side of Barry. Your eyes moved back to Eobard who only sent you a little nod. I’m here, you mouthed to him as his body flickered, pain filling his tormented expression. You swallowed thickly as you saw Barry charge up his body with gold electricity channeled from his Speed Force, lightning licked up the air around Barry and crackled at every spark. With creased eyebrows, determination to save Thawne’s life adorned the hero’s face. Eobard shook his head, but it was futile, his body was fading out for more than 2 seconds at a time. This ends tonight. “Now.”
Chester pressed the button to lower the force-field shields and Barry instantly shot volts of electricity at Eobard right when the wall vanished, and his body was fully tangible. Your chest tightened at the scene in front of you, gritting your teeth at the screams and groans that came from Eobard. It had been easier said than done. Those screams would haunt you once again as they had done seven years ago in the pipeline. The pain seared throughout this body; his eyes screwed tightly as he felt his body being ripped apart from the one thing that solely made him who he is. It was as if the villainous speedster was being cut in half as he gradually fell down to one knee, the vigorous and intimate connection he had to the Speed Force he had created – all the things he had seen with having his speed. They would be soon gone. A yelp left your lips as the labs shook slightly at the amount of surging power that surrounded Eobard, his red lightning visibly flickering and sparking throughout his body as gold lightning chased out the Negative Speed Force from Eobard’s body. It was almost painfully straining to watch. A beam of negative electricity crackled in the air, shooting upwards towards the ceiling and out the labs. Your hair stood up at the back of your neck from all the energy in the air, you couldn’t feel the massive number of negative tachyons – only Barry’s Speed Force particles as he dropped his hands right as an aura of red drifted out of Eobard before dissipating. Your feet moved quickly onto the platform, sliding on your knees to remain in front of your fiance as his body dropped forward into yours.
“Eo, I’ve got you.” You held him against your body, arms wrapped around him as you allowed him to lean against you as a crutch for him to stand back up. Eobard was rigid under your touch as he panted at the amount of energy that had surged through him and chased out his power source. Your eyes softened at your fiancé’s tired expression; his once dark, black hair had shifted to a lighter brown-blonde color. The loss of his speed also meant the loss of his Enhanced Longevity ability, meaning he was going to age like any other person as he had done at Iron Heights in 2049. His aging wouldn’t be decreased like it had been with his speed as a speedster’s cells are at an increased rate of recovery with decreased recovery time. With even the worst of injuries that would take months of recovery and physical therapy took only a few hours in a speedster’s body. “I’ve got you. I’m here,” You took in a breath as your mind recalled what Eobard had confided in you before his grandiose (extra af) performance to bring Barry to the Central City precinct. The villain could hardly move, his legs felt like they were locking up again as they had when he was getting his speed in spurts. He fathomed the idea of utilizing that damn wheelchair he had been confined to for more than a year. Wiggling his gloved fingers to some extent caused little grunts to escape his lips. His head throbbed and he could hear his heartbeat in his ears, but he was alive, yet… Eobard didn’t think that the absence of his speed would be this unbearable, hadn’t anticipated it’d be this hard to breath or move. The genius felt empty - it was different this time. 15 years ago, he had lost it because Barry was no longer the Flash, but that came in spurts as he worked to make Barry the hero that he is today. Then in 2049, he had Cicada’s dagger attached to his chest until execution day, but his connection to the Negative Speed Force had been with him. Now? It was a vastly foreign feeling to him; Eobard didn’t feel like himself. His chest squeezed, he swallowed thickly as a panicked look set in his eyes expertly. Your mind registered the signs – Eobard was starting to have a panic attack and you couldn’t tell if this was part of the act or not. “Hey, look at me. Breathe. In and out,” you repeated the little breathing exercises that you were all-too familiar with to calm him down, he mirrored your breathing actions, nodding. “Just keep looking at me.” Team Flash had fulfilled their role, now Eobard needed to reel himself back in from this. “I’m right. Breathe with me, Eo.” Screwing his eyes shut, the ex-speedster could feel himself calming as his mind pulled him back into the reality of the current situation.
A necessary miscalculation.
“There is no trace of the Negative Speed Force left in your body,” Caitlin announced, her eyes glancing at you calming Thawne down before looking to Iris and Barry. You had it coming, this is your finish line. Cisco should have been here to see this, should have been here to see the agony on Thawne’s face as he stands there without his speed. Powerless.
“Barry, you did it,” Iris followed up, watching her husband take in little breaths. He can’t hurt us anymore or anyone else for that matter. Barry’s eyes moved over to hers and she can see the exhaustion in his body language from short-circuiting Eobard’s Speed Force. All Barry could do was take in a deep, quiet breath then shift his gaze back to you and Eobard, ready to call in the ARGUS agents Laila has sent as per Cisco’s request.
“What exactly... do you think you've done?” Eobard growled, breaking out of your hold and ignoring the noise of protest you made. The genius villain took one slow step towards Barry, but he wasn’t as menacing as before. No, that had been lost when Barry severed his ties to the Negative Speed Force.
“We just saved your life, Thawne,” Barry sneered at Eobard while the rest of Team Flash watched – they had nothing to worry about. Thawne wouldn’t be stupid enough to attempt something without his speed. Even if he did, Barry could easily throw him like a ragdoll into the pipeline. “Don't make us regret it.”
“You think you saved my life? You took my speed. My speed is my life.” Bile rose to his throat as he spat out venom. “You took my life!” Eobard pushed back the thoughts that swirled in his mind, he didn’t need those now as his voice dropped down an octave from shouting at Barry. “And left me in hell.”
“Hey, stop, it’s ok,” you interjected, making a beeline in front of Eobard. Your hands moved on impulse, cupping his face to look at you and to focus on only you. No matter how many times you and he had run through this the sullen look in his icy blue eyes vacant of that red spark broke you. Your gut squeezed at his wounded look. Licking your lips, you whispered closely to avoid the others from hearing you, “You’re alive. We can figure out a way to get you your speed back, but for now just please stay with me.” Though you had an inkling Barry would try to prevent that from happening. Eobard pursed his lips; his chest still hurt, and his body screamed at him for every movement, but his hands still moved to place themselves on top of your own. If it were the right time, the ex-speedster could get drunk off the tenderness in your eyes that was reserved for him only. His heart was yours and yours his.
“What happened to you (Y/N)?” You froze in place, your blood icing over as you craned your neck and dropped your hands from Eobard. Turning your body to the source of the voice, you saw the retired detective walk into the Speed Lab. No doubt he knew what had taken place tonight. You averted your eyes from Joe for a brief moment, schooling your features as you steeled your nerves. “You were like another daughter to me – you were a part of this family.” You finally met Joe’s gaze, taking in the sight of the older detective. He had finally grown out his goatee into a beard, all peppered black and white from age. There was a certain amount of sadness in his eyes, sadness mixed with pity and regret. It was as if to say ‘I’m sorry, I should have done more for you to not turn out like this’ and it pissed you off. You weren’t mad at Joe, never, he was like the father you never had.
I’m sorry, Joe. “I want nothing to do with a family who continues to use me as a chess piece at the expense of my sanity,” you sneered at each original member of Team Flash as Allegra and Chester were new, therefore had nothing to do with the events that had occurred over the years. “Isn’t that right, Barry? Iris?” You could tell you touched a nerve, when Barry clenched his jaw and Iris narrowed her eyes at you with crossed arms, a tight look adorning her face. “Or have any of you forgotten about all the lives that were sacrificed for the two of them?”
“What happened to the sweet girl that would protect others?” Joe asked, knowing he was pushing his luck and instead diverting your attention back to him as he stepped closer to where you and the two speedsters stood. “That went out of her way to stay with Team Flash and protect the city?”
“She’s broken, she’s gone – she’s done being the pawn for the king and queen to do as they please.” Because I bow to no one, I’m under no one’s thumb. Not even Eobard’s: he wouldn’t dare think of doing such a thing. I know him better than anyone else here.
“You’re crossing a line, (Y/N).” You snapped your gaze back to Iris and if looks could kill, you probably would be dead. Too bad, though. Eobard raised his eyebrows as Iris intervened between you and Joe. “No one is being used as a chess piece, (Y/N).”
You kept your gaze locked with the journalist’s; you weren’t going to back down from this verbal fight. “Is that what you tell yourself to fall asleep at night when you’re reminded of HR, Iris? Of Ronnie? Or even Eddie? How about the rest of the Wells that threw their lives away for an artificial Speed Force that ended up being a one-time use thing before Barry figured his speed issue back?” Eobard had to stifle the smirk that was threatening to tug on his lips. The poison in your words made Barry and Iris shift uncomfortably and the future genius was living for it – all that pent up bitterness and frustration through the years was silent in your soul, but it was there. It was rightfully there, and Team Flash could not ignore it any longer. The ex-speedster placed a hand on your shoulder to try to back you down, but he knew you wouldn’t especially when you shrugged his hand off you as you took a step forward. “Why is it that you two are allowed to be happy but anyone else can’t? Why is it that everyone around you has to keep making sacrifices for the two of you?”
“(Y/N), listen,” Joe tried once more, pleading for you to listen to reason when you’d already made up your mind years ago, “whatever anger your feeling; whatever is pent up inside your heart isn’t healthy. Come back home to us, we can figure things out.”
“Eobard is my home, he’s my family – I have no one else nor do I want anyone else,” you responded, confidence and pride oozing from your words. This time Eobard stood right beside you as his hand took your own, a smug smirk on his face. “Anyone that threatens that will not be forgiven.”
Barry side-eyed Iris, dipping his head a bit before turning back to you. “He’s completely warped your sense of right and wrong, (Y/N).” To them, you seemed like another puppet under Thawne’s influence, but oh how wrong they were.
“No, he hasn’t, Barry,” all you did was send Barry an incredulous look while Eobard seemed extremely offended. He wouldn’t manipulate the person he loves. A man that does that to a woman he’s with is scum. “And that's the thing, all these years it’s been you and Iris doing the warping, the manipulating, and the gaslighting. You two are the reason things are like this!”
The heroic speedster studied you and his nemesis for a moment, his eyes flickering back to his wife who only dipped her head down before breaking the silence that had filled the Speed Lab. Team Flash had remained quiet, intrigued to see this turn of events. “…I guess I was wrong,” Barry started then exhaling through his nose, his folded arms dropped to his side. “People can change.” A feeling of dread started to ball up in the pit of your stomach as the here clenched and unclenched a fist. “For the worst!” All you saw was Barry take a step towards you before you were thrown back and over the speedster containment cell platform. You had landed right on your side against the cold, solid ground – a sharp pain ran up your side.
“No!” This wasn’t part of the plan. Eobard felt his blood run cold, one moment you were beside him and the next you were crumpled on the ground behind the platform. Without his speed, the ex-speedster’s eyes couldn’t follow Barry’s swift movements like he used to. Without his speed, Eobard couldn’t protect you from Barry and Team Flash. Without his speed, all he can do is rely on his intellect to make it out alive.
“Barry, stop!”
Your mind barely registered Eobard’s shriek nor Joe’s outburst towards his son. The stinging sensation on your face ached as you brought a hand up to your cheek, tasting metal in your mouth. You groaned as your fingers brushed against your now split lip. “Did you really just fucking punch me in the face?” You growled at him with a heated glare as you pushed your upper body off the ground with your arms; Barry sported a cocky-ass grin on his stupid face. Your bones weren’t broken, at this you think they weren’t since you were able to stand up without any excruciating pain. This bitch baby is so going to get it now. Your eyes caught sight of the hidden gesture Eobard made, his body was fully turned towards you to obscure Barry’s sight. Your fiancé had made a fist before only raising his index finger to make the peace sign hand gesture. You knew it was anything, but that.
1 and 2
“What are you gonna do about it?”
Fully standing tall, you cracked your neck to the side instantly summoning your ‘shadows’ from every corner of the Speed Lab. Your shards of ‘darkness’ struck but Barry had already moved, avoiding your ‘umbra’ by using his superspeed to punch you once more before flinging you to the other side of the Speed Lab. You felt yourself go airborne this time, your back crashed against the upper part of the track. A strangled sound left your lips at the force of the impact. Without Eobard’s speed, you couldn’t read Barry’s movements. Without Eobard, you didn’t have your eyes to see in the light. But you didn’t need to see in the light when your eyes were more accustomed to the ‘dark’. The shards didn’t dissipate this time, instead melting onto the ground and spreading and merging until the lab was in the dark.  You smirked, feeling where everyone stood in the lab shrouded in utter ‘darkness’ – the light shakes of Chester’s leg from where he sat and the shifting from one foot to the other as Allegra tried to pierce the ‘darkness’ you created with her light-based powers but to no avail. The ‘shadows’ weighed down on the team, restraining them to the ground in place. They weren’t going to be moving any time soon. There was not a single seam of light; Team Flash still didn’t comprehend your powers. Good, they weren’t aware of the cards up your trump cards.
“Careful, Barry, you can’t lock up the darkness,” you taunted, feeling him twist and turn in place. Not even the slightest light generated by his speed could allow him to see where you were. You felt everything and saw everyone, a wild grin crossing your face at the turn of events. You were part of the ‘darkness’, your movements ever so fluid as you materialized beside Eo who noiselessly got spooked at your touch. You traced certain patterns in the palm of his hand, and he knew what you intended to do. The genius scientist shut his icy blue eyes, whispering to you to keep your guard up as your ‘umbra’ swallowed him to keep him safe. “You wanna play, Flash? Then let’s play,” your voice echoed throughout the Speed Lab. Your body ascended in the air, carried by the ‘umbra’ as you gauged everyone.
The Black Queen had sprouted her wings, she’s as deadly as ever – she is to not be underestimated.
Iris and the team kept quiet, knowing that if they were to say anything to help Barry, it would also give you the advantage at evading the speedster’s intended movements. She felt like the darkness that surrounded them was squeezing the air out of her. Her hands tried to reach for things, but her fingers only brushed the surface of the desk and a few papers. Even with the gun in her pocket, where would she fire? Her aim could either be completely off or she might end up shooting her husband. She felt completely blind, powerless. They couldn’t see you; they couldn’t hear you. You moved as silently as the night. How was Barry’ supposed to fight what he can’t see…. unless?
You stifled a giggle as you saw Barry run around, even knocking Joe over in the process. A little breath left you as you willed the ‘shadows’ to latch onto Barry’s legs before flinging him around like a ragdoll. Something you’d always wanted to do in your perfect little arena. Barry groaned when his body slammed against the railing of the labs. The speedster set his jaw, he shut his eyes and focused on his breathing before pushing off the rails with his arms out around him to observe the distance he had. Raising an eyebrow, you watched as Barry started running in circles – his lightning creating as much light as possible. But it’s pointless if you don’t understand what I’ve done. Not only is this entire lab under my control in the dark, but you have a specific ‘umbra bubble’ around you to stifle your light. I’m not stupid, I know you’d use the lightning generated from your running for you to see. Good effort though, five points for originality. He craned his neck in every direction but couldn’t spot a single friend or a single outline of a person, not even Thawne. Coming to a stop, Barry exhaled and your ‘shadows’ struck. Bands and whips of the darkest material of the night latched onto his limbs. Amusement glimmered in your eyes as you floated down with hands pocketed in your jeans, your ‘darkness’ pulled Barry to the ground on his knees as the shadows retreated from every inch of the room once your feet touched the concrete.
Iris recoiled at the sudden light that blinded her, blinking to see Barry restrained to the ground by his hands and knees with you in front of him. Fear settled not just in Iris’ but in all of Team Flash. Just how could they fight someone with such expertise in Umbrakinesis? A cold expression on your face as you looked down condescendingly on Barry, but you made no move to attack him in this vulnerable position. Why? Iris’ eyes glanced over to see Thawne leaning back against the wall with arms crossed and a cocky smirk on his face. Her dad stood there paralyzed at what you had unleashed and you had easily brought Barry to his knees. Not a single scratch was on you yet there you stood in the light. Not even a bead of sweat had collected on your skin. You had manipulated the ‘shadows’ fluidly without raising a finger; as if you had been subjected to an intense training regiment to just use your mind to bend the ‘umbra’ to your will.
This is only a fraction of my love’s power.
“See?” You started, cracking your neck once more and running a hand through your hair. You wouldn’t kill Barry; it was a bluff earlier. Severely hurt him to keep him bed-ridden for a few days, maybe. But taking a life was never in your agenda – not since the night you had taken one at the labs to save Harry. He had told you what he had told Barry the following year, ‘once you take a life it always gets easier to take the next’. Harry knew that, Eobard knew that too. “Anyone who dares oppose you – who dares to go up against your word, Barry Allen, that you indoctrinate as ‘law’ is useless to you. A piece that can only be thrown out, if they have no means of serving your sense of ‘justice’.”
“How can you see in all that?” The speedster kept struggling against his restraints and you gladly tightened them, earning yourself an agonizing howl from Barry. You rolled your eyes at him, manipulating the ‘darkness’ to make him look at you. How can you be so strong?
“Because I am the darkness, Barry.”
“But you’re not fast enough,” Barry murmured under his breath, and you raised your eyebrows in confusion. Before you could open your mouth to respond, the sound of a gunshot rang in the air and pain seared in your thigh, knocking you off balance before another fit of pain washed over you in your chest this time. Barry’s eyes widened at the second shot – Iris what…?  His restraints slacking and dissipating in the air, but he still felt paralyzed on his knees as he looked back at his wife who gripped the gun tightly in her hands before lowering it. She caught a glimpse of her dad’s expression, bewilderment at what she had done, but Iris would fire at you as many times as it took to keep her husband safe from you and Thawne.
No. Eobard’s world came crumbling down as your body fell to the side, his legs were already moving to you. No, no, no, no, no! You couldn’t help the whimper that escaped your lips when your body hit the ground, your system shutting down one by one. Eobard slid on his knees, gloved hands pulling you close to cradle your body. No, please, stay with me. His eyes immediately went to the tranquilizers that were embedded in your body, yanking them off. His eyes quickly observed them with one hand then threw them to the side harshly, the glass component shattering on impact. Your body started to shake lightly in his grip, your head lulled to his chest as a tear fell from one of your eyes. “These are speedster tranquilizers, are you trying to kill her??” Eobard shouted at the journalist with a fixed death glare. Instantly he turned his attention back to you, ripping off a glove with his teeth to check your pulse. You barely registered his touch, barely could hear what was going on or what was being said – it just felt so cold to you. Your head protested in pain; the world spun as you laid there.
“Oops – she’ll live,” Iris licked her dry lips as she ignored the looks from Barry and her father, “be thankful I had Caitlin decrease the dosage.” Words that came from her dad and Barry fell on deaf ears as she narrowed her eyes at Thawne holding you closely. How can a monster be so loved? How can a monster hold love in his heart when the world despises him? I guess a monster can love another monster. That’s what (Y/N) chose to be that night she stopped us from Barry and Thawne’s fight three years ago… They were the reason Nora got erased in that Timeline.
Eobard didn’t hear Iris, didn’t hear the sound of multiple footsteps entering the labs as he tried to keep you awake with him. That hatred in his being turned into something more malicious, something more dangerous than his prior rage towards Barry and Iris. He had failed you, without his speed he couldn’t stop Iris’ shots. He couldn’t stop her from breaking you like this. You weren’t bulletproof. The last thing you heard was your fiancé whispering your name before you blacked out in his arms. Your body wanted to give up even though your spirit screamed that it wasn’t your time yet.
Once again, I find myself back in the dark.

****Disclaimer: What if... the Wells-Thawne Family dynamic didn’t exist? What if that existed in a different timeline split for this one? As in to say, after Eobard and Barry’s battle with Godspeed there was no Thaddeus Thawne to run back to you and Eobard to bring his brother (Jackson Wells) back to existence and pull the family together. That it was only ever just you and Eobard.

Part 2   Part 3
Barry entered the Speed Lab, his eyes landed on Thawne with a guarded expression on his face. The scarlet speedster still donned on his red suit while Eobard remained in his yellow one. Getting closer to the Reverse Flash’s with slow steps, Barry saw the villain raise an amused eyebrow at him. Once he stood in front of Thawne, Barry knocked twice against the invisible force-field as if to say, ‘Checkmate, your time is ticking’. Eobard mocked the heroic speedster’s gesture, doing the same with that smug smirk on his face. The genius speedster knew Barry would save him – he’s the hero, after all.
“Where’s (Y/N)?”
“Out.”
“Where?”
Eobard folded his arms behind his back as the two eyed each other – however Barry chose to stand and move, the villain would mirror it to antagonize him. “Wouldn’t you like to know, Flash?”
“Thawne, it’s a simple question.”
“Why do you care all of a sudden? You never cared when she was on your team.” Eobard dropped his arms and paced a few steps in his cell. I’m impressed that they’ve already come up with such a containment cell to hold me – a much better improvement than the one from seven years ago. “And why ask me? Couldn’t you have Iris or Caitlin track her with Labs’ satellites?”
“That’s because she hadn’t backstabbed us by then and we could have, but I wanted to ask you,” Barry steely replied and stood his ground, his own hands folded behind him. “Now where did she go?”
“I’m not obligated to tell you of her whereabouts.”
“… Caitlin told me about your talk. Something I want to know. Why did you create a Reverse-Flashpoint, steal my life? Why?”
“It was the best way to hurt you.”
“Don't you have anything better to do than trying to destroy my life?”
“Destroying you is my life.”
“That still doesn't explain why.”
“Why what?”
“What did I ever do to you?”
“You ruined my life. Simple as that.”
“How?”
“It doesn’t matter. Not anymore – we will always be at opposite ends. I cannot exist without you, and you cannot exist without me. That is what time has revealed to me,” Eobard huffed, crossing his arms as he looked down condescendingly towards his rival. For a brief moment, the speedster shut his eyes before reopening it to view his enemy. Disdain flickered in Eobard’s ocean-blue eyes. “Fate, it’s tricky. What you’d done had been unforgivable and I intended to take everything away from you like you did to me. Every bit of pain I will unleash ten-fold on you, Barry Allen.”
“What did I take from you?”
“You really want to know? Couldn’t have pieced it together?” Eobard huffed out a mocking laugh at Barry, shaking his head as he continued on. “No, of course not. You’re not smart enough to do that. Certainly not like your future counterpart.” Licking his lips, Eobard’s icy blue eyes met Barry’s gaze again. He felt the pain echo in his chest, and it wasn’t just from fading out. That hollow feeling always returned when his thoughts wandered back to those darker times in his life. “I wanted to be just like you, I wanted to be The Flash. When I was younger, my parents were never satisfied with me – no matter how hard I worked, no matter what I achieved, I was never good enough. They constantly reminded me of that. Ironic, isn’t it? My parents only loved me conditionally – I seemed to always be a disappointment.” He could still feel the thrum of pain that radiated in his body as a child. The venomous words that were spat in his direction while his parents favored his younger brother. I was only a child; I should have been loved like the other children, like Robern. “But you, you were the one thing that kept me going when I was a child. You were the reason I kept pushing myself to be better, to fly higher, to become a speedster. You were the one thing that mentally protected me from every lash out, from every beating at home.” Another memory resurfaced to the forefront of Eobard’s mind, the secret stash of Flash paraphernalia he had, the old photos and newspaper cuttings. The plushy that allowed him to fall asleep at night as a child and later on the understanding of the drive of doing good as a young adult.
“…” Barry could only remain silent as Eobard spoke – this was Eobard’s answer; an explanation he wouldn’t have fully understood. Not seven years ago as they stood once again face-to-face with Thawne imprisoned in a cell.
“Of all the heroes I read about you were the one I idolized, and the moment I got my speed; the moment I was going to save someone from a danger in my time a future version of you time traveled to that point and saved them instead. Targeting me and labeling me as the villain when all I had was nothing but purely good intentions. I was supposed to be the hero to that crowd that night. But no, you couldn’t stand that. You publicly humiliated me in a fight – told me that I was never going to be good, that I would never be like you, a hero like The Flash,” Eobard gritted his teeth as images of all the hateful looks and cold expressions filled his mind. Everyone hated him and he had done nothing wrong to warrant such treatment. The speedster stood resolutely, he would not break in front of Barry, Eobard would never allow himself to do such a thing. “Because of you everyone left me, everyone betrayed me – I was thrown away like a piece of trash because a version of you deemed it so. I was alone again, and it felt so cold. The mental trauma from my childhood coupled with the vilification and animosity from you continued to scar a younger version of myself. I grew to despise the one person I looked up to the most. The one person that made me feel safe in what should have been my home. That was you, Barry Allen.”
“…” The scarlet speedster’s eyes dropped to the ground; a string of guilt coiled in his gut at the villain’s words. Thawne could be lying, trying to manipulate me to use me again. But… How can a future version of me do something like that? What was the justification to label Thawne as a threat if he was the one that had the intent on saving someone? Then again, a future time remnant wanted to kill Iris…
Eobard narrowed his eyes at Barry, seeing the clear conflict going on in the speedster’s mind as he stepped closer to the edge of the force-field. He’s still so easy to read after all these years. “You call me a monster, but you’re just as twisted as I am.”
“I’m nothing like you.”
“No, you’re your own special kind of twisted, Barry. The things that you do, that you will do – they have consequences.”
“That doesn’t excuse what you’ve done, Thawne. You could have changed!”
“Change doesn’t come as easily as you think, Allen,” Eobard spat at Barry heatedly. “Not when the scars run so deep, not when all that’s left is…” The villain took in a breath, his chest stung as the clock ticked. He had around 30 minutes left before he was permanently erased from the timeline. Looking down at his hands, Eobard felt them fade and reappear a few times – a sensation similar to phantom limb resonated in his hands. This was worse than his almost-execution in 2049 three years ago, at least he had another 15 years to live before his plan was fully implemented into motion with Nora. Another image surfaced to his mind, causing Eobard to chew on the inside of his cheek. “My past isn’t the only reason why I hate you. No, through these last eight years, my resentment for you only grew.”
“Why? What else have I done to you?” Barry questioned Eobard with furrowed eyebrows – what other stories would Thawne spin for sympathy? “Out-run you? Is that why? It bothers you so much that I’m faster than you? That’s something only a sociopath would be enraged about.”
“You hurt her!” Barry blinked as Thawne had banged against the invisible wall, trying to register Thawne’s accusation before it clicked. The image that had surfaced to Eobard’s mind was you; brightly grinning at him with such welcoming warmth in your eyes. His person, the one that made him feel safe no matter what he had done in his wicked history as the Reverse Flash. “Hurt is… putting it lightly, at least it’s sufficient for now, but you hurt the love of my life. The one person who accepted every aspect of me and loved me unconditionally. She is my everything and I would burn the world down just to have her in my arms safely. (Y/N) fell into depression because you refused to save your mother and allow us to go to my time which allowed Eddie to resort to committing suicide so I can die. Then you ended up creating Flashpoint to have your parents a year and a half later. What was the point in refusing my offer?? I was going to leave you alone, I promised you, because all I needed was her in my life and my speed. I told you, Allen, you were never going to be happy, I knew you’d create Flashpoint out of desperation.” The bitterness in Thawne’s voice rang true. Barry averted his eyes from Eobard, deep down acknowledging the mess he had created but secretly not regretting it as much as he initially did. Eobard remembered lying in bed with you at night seven years ago, telling you all about his time and the house he planned to build with you outside of Central City. Eobard had slipped the ring he had made on your finger, the very same ring you still wore today. “My future time would have been more bearable with her at my side. But no, that’s not what Barry Allen wants. She was hurting herself and all you did was allow your hate for me to alienate her from fully rehabilitating. (Y/N) told me. Iris and Caitlin were the ones that helped bring her back from the darkness that swallowed her because you erased me from existence the first time. Everyone on the team slowly accepted her, pitied her for the hell that was going on in her head and the grief that lingered in her heart for years. But you, you didn’t, you couldn’t.You shunned her even when she attacked Zoom knowing full well he’d seal her fate. You couldn’t get over the fact that she chose me, a person you labeled as a monster because if monsters have hearts then they weren’t as malicious as you choose to see them. It’s easier for you to see me as the villain fully on the dark side than to accept that I can love and be loved. It’s easier to paint your world in absolutes - black and white, right and wrong, when there’s always a gray area. But apparently you’re the only one allowed to make morally gray choices with your definition of justice.”
Barry exhaled through his nose, keeping silent at all of Thawne’s accusations and baiting. They weren’t true, or that’s what Barry kept telling himself. “... Why wouldn’t she use her powers against Zoom, Thawne?”
“Because the depression she was working through had been a mental block in utilizing it,” Eobard retorted, the memory of you confiding to him all that had happened when he had been gone. The seething anger he felt that day, the need to rip Barry’s head off when he saw the scars that littered your body. He remembered exactly how his heart broke for you, that you almost drowned in your bathroom from feeling that there was no point in living a life without the person you loved the most, and Barry had been the one to find you in such a state seven months after his existence was erased. Yet Barry had little to no compassion for your misery. Iris had been the one to talk him into having you stay at the labs or with someone to not further hurt yourself because she understood the pain that ripped (Y/N) apart. She lost Eddie and Caitlin lost Ronnie because of Barry, so they knew the insurmountable agony of love lost. Iris and Caitlin had you check into therapy - sometimes accompanying you into the office. Eobard held not as much animosity towards the people around Barry, for they aren’t the prime reason for all his suffering. But they were people that still chose to side with the speedster, and for that Eobard couldn’t dismiss their shared intent with the so-called hero. “All of this would have been avoided if you had just listened, Barry. You’re the reason she dies and it’s not by some ‘self-sacrificial accident’ that people around you tend to commit for you to be with Iris. No, you stab her right in the heart just like Savitar. Why? Because you’re afraid of her. Because you’re afraid that with her power (Y/N) would turn and inevitably put you out when she’d be fed up with how you and the team slowly neglected the demons that soon plagued her. That she’d abandon the neutrality she had established three years ago, the code of not taking a life even when she was by my side. You put out her flame! Her blood is on your hands!” But I will not allow that to happen. I will never allow her to die because of you.
“When?”
“… Two years from now.”
Barry’s mouth felt dry, it was hard to swallow all that Thawne had told him. It was true, he had disregarded the amount of pain you were in when Eobard was first erased from existence. Yet, you never made a move to hurt the speedster and the others through the years, but the hero had seen the bitterness grow in your eyes as you remained silent. The bitterness as people around him and Iris fell like flies for their happiness. The scarlet speedster won’t deny that he never asked for people to sacrifice themselves, but he kept allowing it to happen - kept allowing them to throw their lives away for him to keep going. How did that make him the hero? Barry disregarded your gradual change in demeanor as the years mulled over, telling himself that you’d get over yourself and whatever it is going on in your head. You had become more quiet, watchful - less interactive with team decisions as if you were gauging the situation as Thawne would. Maybe deep down, I’m just a coward that doesn’t want to die and leave Iris all to herself, to leave this city without someone to defend it, but… Wally has speed, too. If something were to happen, he could defend it - but I’m not replaceable. I don’t want to be replaceable. I can’t allow that, couldn’t allow that so I pushed Wally away so the city could only depend on me. “I’m sorry…” In two years’ time I kill (Y/N).
“Sorry doesn’t fix a life lost and the pain that follows. Why should you be the only one to mess with the timeline to save the people you love?” Eobard licked his lips, collecting the rest of his thoughts and anchoring himself to his resolve. His plan was coming together perfectly, Barry just needed one more push before time ran out. No doubt the others will decide to let him die, but that won’t be their final conclusion. If they let me die, then they risk allowing a drastic change to happen and the guilt will eat at them because who knows what other lives they’ll bypass for their own comfort. “It was in that moment of seeing you kill her that I knew that I had to get much faster than you. I needed to prevent the one person that meant more to me than being a speedster from dying at your hands. Because I would be damned if I lived another moment without her.” You knew your role in all this - your presence was enough to put the others on edge, especially what you had done for them during the second Crisis and thereafter. Eobard’s little spy; his partner in crime. Someone worth dying for, well figuratively - he’d never allow either of you to die.
“There’s no stopping you, you’re fully consumed with rage.” He could cause another Armageddon if I let him live… Millions of people could die because of Thawne. But Barry’s thoughts were consumed by what you’d do; the volatility in your response should he let Thawne die. Either you’d breakdown and fall back to the extreme of depression on the verge of suicide once more where the guilt would feed into the Team’s conscience or you’d destroy the labs along with everyone in it. The speedster needed to tread carefully with their decision with Thawne’s life.
“What you call rage... I call commitment.”
“So, if you won't stop hating me, what happens once I save you?”
“I'll just go on with my life's work: finding new ways to kill you,” Eobard smirked at Barry as he sent him a wink as he turned away from Barry. He felt tired, so tired. The speedster just wanted this all to be over and be away from here. He just wanted to feel you in his arms without worrying about disappearing. “And (Y/N) will be alive and well by my side.”
“Does she know?”
“Yes, because unlike you, Barry, once I found out I told her. I didn’t lie for weeks about my nightmares.” The Reverse Flash relished in his ability to perfectly throw jabs at Barry’s past. Words can cut someone like serrated knives. Eobard never kept things from you since you uncovered his secret while Barry was still in his coma- actually, that moment was when the foundation of trust you had built with Harrison Wells for two years had been broken by the revelation of Eobard Thawne. The day you had gone missing kept the speedster on edge, only one man could commit such a clean course of action in order to terrorize the speedster that donned his Wells persona. General Wade Eilling. The general had kept his eye on you before the PA explosion, had tried to persuade you to betray Harrison and humiliate him at every gala he had cornered you at. However, each time you’d choose to spit words back in Eilling’s face even when you knew of Eobard’s truths and what he intended to do with his comatose patient.
The night Eobard had found you in a containment cell under the general’s jurisdiction, his anger blinded him, and the villain swore vengeance against the veteran. The moment he held your broken body in his arms, he knew he couldn’t let you go as he ran home with you to stabilize your wounded self. He remembered all the blood and darkened bruises on your body. Yes, he would unleash Grodd on the general in due time. Eobard Thawne was not a good man, but he was a man selfish enough to want you all to himself, something that he had been suppressing since first meeting you. Slowly, but gradually the bridge of trust between you and Eobard grew once more the further you two fell for each other. That since before the PA explosion, the two of you had pushed your feelings to the side as the brief glances and snarky comments were exchanged between you two, especially late into the night. You’re the one person he kept close, closer than Cisco and Caitlin and Ronnie (knowing that they would become Vibe, Killer Frost, and Firestorm), the one person he’d look forward to seeing coming into the Labs and see that cheeky grin of yours as you ran the clinic, Eobard had set up in the labs should any scientist or worker find themselves injured at work.
“What about Reverse Flashpoint? Is she aware of the life you had as The Flash?” Barry’s voice snapped the villainous speedster out of his thoughts. Eobard blinked at Barry as if he was stupid or something, he really wasn’t understanding the memo. The genius saw hostility flicker in Barry’s eyes at the implication of taking Iris from him. He couldn’t care less about the journalist, but it was another nail to the coffin for Barry.
“You’re mistaken, Barry. (Y/N) is my partner, I would never do anything without her knowledge of it. Just as you and Iris come to a decision, so do I and (Y/N). I took her with me to Reverse Flashpoint. She understood my intentions – the life I would lead to hurt you because I knew you’d come to 2031. And she knows that Iris means nothing to me, that my heart is only for her and vice versa.” If Barry had been trying to indicate that Eobard would willingly cheat on you, then he was sorely mistaken. Eobard hadn’t done a single thing with Iris short for a few forced kisses and little touches (which he was not a fan of). And you knew of all that, he’d actually vent to you when Iris tried to come onto him. “Though I do commend you for being able to stand Iris’ horrid cooking. All I needed was to siphon off your speed to be as fast as you when you’d revert the timeline back to where you’re the hero and I’m the villain. That course of action didn’t not come with a few bumps.”
“Bumps?”
“The timeline was punishing me through (Y/N). That new timeline I created had her in a weakened condition over time in the secret home I had gotten for the two of us. A miscalculation on my end, but she insisted that I get what I came for: your speed. Some days she’d barely move, her heart wasn’t stable, and she’d be coughing up blood – other days she’d have color on her face with bright eyes as she moved about. Either I was at her side or when I was away, Gideon would be giving me constant reports of her condition. I bought (Y/N) enough time with the temporary injections I synthesized for you to show up and change things with Damien’s Time Stone. I ran (Y/N) back with me, and her condition was no more than a remnant of the past, but she remembers it all.” Eobard paused for a moment, crossing his arms with that dangerously condescending look in his eyes. “Why do you think as the Reverse Flash you didn’t see her in my Flashpoint?”
“I thought…” Barry actually didn’t know what to think. He couldn’t recall a memory of you from Reverse Flashpoint without it seeming so fuzzy in his head.
“It was because I kept her safe from anything that would be fatal to her recovery and that included you.”
“…” Barry turned his head at the light sounds of footsteps from the hallway. His hazel-green eyes met yours as you stepped into the Speed Lab, a bag of Big Belly Burger in hand with some Jitters coffee. The hero’s jaw set as you threw the harshest glare at him, your feet stopping in place - the unbridled resentment and hostility that grew in a garden of aconites and black roses with thorns. Barry needed to tread very carefully. Two years and I would be rid of her looming threats and death glares.
“Who’s the villain now, Flash?”

***I’d also like to thank @grimtamlain-writes for being my beta reader.
****This is my opinion, disclaimer - so I guess the writers finally thought it was time to shove romance towards Eobard though it contradicts what he’s always said and done in s1. His characterization isn’t adding up and I guess he can join the rest of the characters who have fallen victim to this. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but this show has been going to shit because of the blatant ignorance these writers have for all these characters. Don’t get me wrong, I love this show, but I’m so tired of hearing this and that, finding out things keep going in insanely inexplainable directions for the sake of viewership without an actual solid plan to make a season plus future seasons work. But once again, that’s just me and I’m just bitter because this show has give me my comfort characters who have stood by me through the years and have helped me pull through things in my life. I’m honestly disappointed. Am I going to stop writing? No, I love my bois and I just can’t let go of not figuring an explanation out of why the writers sudden took a turn to having them do something. Have I stopped watching the show? Yeah, since s6 ended. I’ve wanted to stop after s6 crisis, but I tried to have hope that things will work out. I was wrong and I’ll continue to be wrong with how the writers only slap whatever onto the scripts for these characters without acknowledging past development and characterization. Am I endorsing people to not watch the show? That’s not for me to decide, you do whatever you so please to do. I’ll still be here writing for my bois and trying to fucking fix things for them with my fics.

“Eo?” Your voice bounced in the darkness of your quaint home. With furrowed eyebrows you turned on the lights, the bulbs flickered to life in the living room. Locking the door behind you, you took in a shaky breath at the temperature contrast from outside. You placed the groceries on the leather couch before discarding your jacket and slipping your shoes off to tuck them in the closet. The home wasn’t as lavish as Eobard’s old mansion back in Central City, but certainly didn’t carry any simplicity inside the home. Yet, it was cozy to you – all you had asked for was for there to be some skylights and a fireplace to sit by to read your smut/fantasy novels. Keystone was nice; you both had found a decent place in the woods to lay low until you and Eobard moved with the next phase of his plan.
“Eo? Yoo-hoo??” Peering into each room, you saw no signs of life. A little sigh left your lips as your feet trudged down the stairs to the makeshift lab Eobard had turned the basement into. Once a genius scientist, always a genius scientist. He’s probably slaving away in the labs again. You rolled your eyes at the thought, knowing you’d have to drag his ass back upstairs for some proper food, so the speedster doesn’t resort to eating Big Belly Burger for the rest of his life. “Eobard Tiberius Thawne, I swear to god if you’ve stashed away another bag of Big Belly Burger without getting me anything, you’re definitely sleeping on the couch tonight.” Your socked feet touched the cold concrete of the basement’s floor, only the emergency lights were on from select gadgets and monitors. But there was no trace of your fiancé. Your shoulders sagged slightly, something weighing on your mind before you shuttered the thoughts away. Where could you be? Your tongue ran over your chapstick-coated lips as your eyes scanned over the untouched lab. Papers and notes were scrawled on while a clear-glass board held multiple types of physics equations and theories. Aspects of Eobard’s knowledge that always slipped over your head no matter how hard you tried to understand it all from him. Maybe he went to stretch out his legs. He does that from time to time.
Pivoting, you turned back to head upstairs to close the blinds all over your cottage home. It was only 4:45pm, yet the sun had already set and the brisk air of night greeted anyone who remained out under the waning moonlight. He’ll be fine. Pursing your lips, you started to put all the groceries away while leaving some main ingredients out to make some dinner for the both of you. You had planned on making Lemon, Asparagus, & Chicken Pasta with homemade garlic bread on the side. I just hope he makes it back before it gets too dark. And before the food gets cold. Your eyes caught the faint rustle of leaves outside your home, the chill in the air blew a bit harsher tonight in comparison to earlier that day when you were out. You took a slight breath in, willing your eyes back to the onions and veggies on the cutting board. Sometimes it gets a little creepy out here in the woods, especially when the nights had been climbing earlier and earlier in the sky. Though you had powers from the Particle Accelerator explosions, it didn’t make whatever lurked in the darkness anything shy from scary. Rubbing your eyes, you got started with chopping up the onions.
***A Few Hours Later***
A yawn itself ripped from your throat; your heavy eyelids cracked open languidly as your body arched in trying to wake itself from sleep. Your bones ached at the stretch, yet it felt so nice to do so – the cracking oddly satisfied your locked up joints. You exhaled a little breath from your nose. The fire still crackled in its place while your book lay discarded on the carpeted ground. The air in your home was warm, the light from the gentle flames licking at the air kept the living room illuminated. Must have fallen asleep while reading again. Another yawn left you as you stilled for a moment, craning your ears to listen for any moments in the house. Any sounds of static or muffled curses from the other rooms; any sign that Eobard had returned home. Your eyes moved slowly around the living room, yet there were still no traces of your fiancé, only the rustling from the trees outside. You chewed on your bottom lip, pushing the blanket to the side and picking your book to place back on the couch before heading downstairs with a cup of water. The automatic lights flickered on once more as you entered Eobard’s lab. Your feet made a beeline to the pristine plinth that faced one end of the lab. You reached a hand out just barely above the activation frame only to stop your movements and retract your hand back to your side. That one thought that you’d been dreading to recognize came back to mind; the little bits of it feeding into the bundle of anxiety within yourself, but you shook it off. I need to know when he’s coming home. I have to tell him; he deserves to know. Without another doubtful thought, you waved your hand over the activation frame to start up Gideon. The artificial intelligence flickered to life before your eyes, an emotionless smile on its holographic face. You took a sip of water before the AI had the chance to speak.
“Good evening Ms. (L/N). How may I be of service to you today?”
You tilted your head to the side in confusion at the AI’s greeting. Gideon always calls me Mrs. Thawne. You pushed the thought to the side before asking, “Gideon, where’s Eobard?”
“I’m sorry, I’m not sure I understand the question.”
A frown now graced your features. “What?” But it’s a simple question. “Gideon, please show me where Eobard is,” you tried once more with a cocked eyebrow.
Gideon was silent for a moment. “I’m sorry, Ms. (L/N) but there is not anyone with the name ‘Eobard Thawne’ in my database.”
You heard the haunting pump of blood in your ears. “What? What do you mean there’s no one named ‘Eobard Thawne’? What happened to Eobard?!”
“‘Eobard Thawne’ does not exist in my database.”
“Where is the Reverse Flash?”
“Zero results for the ‘Reverse Flash’.”
“Search again.”
“Zero results for the ‘Reverse Flash’.”
“No, no, no.” Your whispered voice cracked as you ran a hand through your hair. “Again.”
“Ms. (L/N) I’ve already searched through various extended databases. Zero results remain for the ‘Reverse Flash’.”
You couldn’t believe your ears – your thoughts racing at the notion of Barry time traveling again or worse. “Did… did the timeline change? Did anything happen?” It couldn’t have….
Instead of responding, Gideon shuttered out completely. You blinked for a moment at the AI’s response before gritting your teeth and with a clenched fist you hit the plinth with all your might, a noise of frustration had left your lips. You swallowed thickly as you tried to steady your breathing. Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in… breathe out. Pain reverberated in your fist, but it wasn’t as painful as the one caused by the growing ball of anxiety in the pit of your stomach. Instantly the plinth flickered to life once more, instead Gideon was replaced with video playing. No, not a video. A livestream with audio. At STAR Labs. Your eyes instantly flickered to the timestamp, widening in confusion. 2031? Your eyes lit up slightly as a voice spoke, that familiar deep tone that made your heart jump. It was Harrison Wells, but…The subtle flicker of red electricity behind the speaker’s eyes, something only you would catch, said otherwise. “Eo?” You whispered with disbelief written all over your face. The clip continued playing, Eobard stood in STAR Labs in a dark blue suit, but… everything about the setting felt off. The people around him were the same people he had sworn to kill. Where was Barry? Why was Team Flash not at Eobard’s throat? Why is he in 2031?
“-to my beautiful wife Iris.”
The glass cup in your hand shattered in your grip as those words left Eobard’s lips, blood seeping out from your palm from those words. The moment your ears caught his words was the moment your heart shattered and a crestfallen look had replaced the small bit of hope in your eyes. Your body vaguely registered the pricks of glass shards that littered the palm of your hand. Shards of glass clicked out of tempo when it made contact with the concrete ground as the video continued. A choked noise left your lips as the clip showed people cheering and celebrating while Eobard slipped a yellow ring on Iris’ finger, holding her hand, holding her close. This isn’t my Eobard, he would never… But your Eo wasn’t here with you – there were no traces of him anywhere except for 2031. Your vision clouded over as the clip shuttered out and Gideon retracted back into the plinth. The beautiful diamond black ring laced with rose gold refined metal on your own finger felt nonexistent as your thumb subconsciously rubbed blood and remnants of glass against it. Your bottom lip quivered as you stood there alone. Blood trickled in little droplets, staining the concrete ground. He left me…?
You wanted to breathe, but you couldn’t. You felt like a fish out of water, but you were falling as you hunched over the concrete with your hands keeping you up from collapsing on the ground. The knives of misery struck your heart. The first when Gideon had stated there were no records of ‘Eobard Thawne’ or the ‘Reverse Flash’ – the thought of Barry causing him to cease from existence had crossed your mind. After everything we’ve been through, all these years at odds with Barry and Iris plus company. I was the one the most at your side. I was the one there when you were getting you speed back, I was the one there when you were at your weakest. I was the one who entrusted my heart to you… Just yesterday we were fine. You were showing me how to rewire the Tachyon Enhancer. And last night when we... Was this morning his final goodbye? Had I misread things. I… It hurts. My chest hurts. It was getting harder and harder to breath, your chest constricted significantly as you dropped to your knees taking in quick but shallow breaths. Do you cry? Do you scream? Do you trash his labs? What were you supposed to do? HOWCANILIVEWITHOUTYOU? A whimper left your lips as your hands balled up into tight fists, the pain in your bloodied hand was faint, but it was there. I chose you over everyone – over everything – in the multiverse. I chose you every single time in every timeline I’ve been in. I left everything behind just for you because I love you. You’re all that I have left. You promised me you wouldn’t let go. That I was the one for you. That I was it.
The second knife that sliced through you had been the instant Eobard smiled down at Iris West as he put the ring on her finger, the small smile he had given you before placing the ring he had made on your own finger and kissing it on your hand. A silent promise to cherish and protect you always. What a magnificent lie that was. It’s funny, isn’t it? How in one moment, you were his everything and in the next you became his nothing. The one person that you gave everything to – the key to your heart and the source of your happiness had wanted nothing to do with you. The pain in your chest only intensified, the hair at the back of your neck stood up. I didn’t do anything wrong. “So why? Why did you leave me?” Why? All of a sudden, after all these years?
Memory after memory together only suffocated you – his wolfish smile when the strings to his plans all came together, his gentle words of comfort, the faith he had in you. The man who not only protected you but knew of your insecurities, the doubts that haunted you, and the broken past you seldom talked about in fear of being gaslighted. The one man who mended your fragmented trust in others and allowed you to be vulnerable – your safe space. I can’t imagine a world with you gone. The flinches and recoils, the subtle steps back when someone was yelling in the Cortex; the abusive past you had suffered that he had uncovered and didn’t shy away from. Never had Eobard raised a hand or his voice against you… The nights the two of you would stay up and talk, the countless hours spent training your powers alongside his and the revelation of the faint Negative Tachyons within your body from being consumed by Eobard Thawne. All those little moments together through these past years, all for him to throw you away for Barry’s wife when you were to be his soon. All of a sudden, the man who you had given your heart and soul to had wanted nothing to do with you. Why’d you let go, Eo? Was I not good enough?
You were worth nothing – that's what has always plagued you, being of no value to the people around you.. The one person in your life that made you feel so significant to theirs. That… the one person who made you feel so safe who had accepted you for everything in your twisted life and past. The one who promised to never let you go, the one who prioritized you and made you his first option; the one who would rather see the world burn for you because you were it for them and they couldn’t see themselves without you would be the same person to fracture your soul. Here you are alone; alone and discarded once again. He chose her over me. Flashbacks from the past seeped into your mind, thoughts of the past you had pushed away because Eobard was right beside you. He was right there proving all those thoughts wrong and loving every bit of you.
The third and final blow to your heart… when you had realized that he would never come home to you. Because he was with her. Because all of a sudden, he chose her over you; the beauty with limitless talent, confidence, and skill. Iris West. They always choose someone else over me. I was always the last option… Your breath hitched once more as your thoughts darkened – you were drowning. Your unwounded hand started pounding on the concrete, over and over again. Eobard had always told you that you’re the light in his life, the one who guided him through all the darkness that was pent up inside. You’re the only person that drove him to work harder, reach higher… to strive to get faster for. It had always been you, but was it just an incredible lie you had fallen for? Every cheeky look, every passionate kiss, every teasing touch – were they all meaningless in his book? Your heart ached, a whole forming in your chest. I love you. Please don’t leave. Don’t leave me, Eo, please. I can't do this without you! You promised you wouldn’t do this to me. I thought you were different, I trusted you. That little begging voice had returned so long from the years you had been mentally abused by a past ex – an extinguished voice of loneliness and longing. “Please don’t leave me. Please come back, please. I love you. You mean the most to me. Please.” Your body was numbing, it was getting cold. The betrayal of someone you love, someone that has been deeply cherished and ingrained in a life runs deeper than any sword could cut. Was it all a lie? A carefully orchestrated lie that in the end you’d stomp on my heart, tear it into pieces, then discard it for Iris??
I never… got to tell him that something delicate and tiny had started to bud inside of me. Slowly the palm of your bloodied hand grazed the lower part of your gut as a tear finally fell; they all started to fall as you hiccupped with quick breaths – you were having a panic attack. Your hands shook as your palm pressed hard against yourself, blood now soaking your lower abdomen. Right here.
