December 19: accidentally wrapped someone's phone happy birthday Hariya!! it's still before midnight where I'm at so thankfully this is on time sdfghngfds

“It’s called a cellular phone— or just a cell, if you’re cool like I am,” Hariya says, and you can practically feel the sheer smug radiating off his pretty face. The two of you are camped out on the floor of your bedroom; Harry had dropped by to help you with wrapping gifts for your classmates, and he’d been far too excited to show off his brand new toy in the process. He grins over at you. “I can answer calls anywhere I’m at! I can send emails while I’m away from my computer! I can even do this thing called texting— that’s like sending an email, but without the email part.” He flips the phone open and begins tapping away at the keypad; the thing is small, orange, and he’s already got a host of charms dangling from it. You can’t help but wonder how he keeps all that in his pocket.

“So now you’ve got no excuse for not picking up when I call!” You chirp, grabbing for a few packets of colored tissue paper. You’d gotten a DVD set for Haruhi this year, and she loves pretty aesthetic things, so you’re determined to match the wrapping to the DVD box.

Harry’s face goes blank for a moment before morphing into a sheepish smile, setting his phone down and running a hand through his dyed hair. “Listen, it was one time—”

Prodding at Hariya’s past embarrassments is always a surefire way to curb his ego, and he’s notably more subdued as he joins you in wrapping presents. You would assume that, as a musician, he would be good with his hands— a fact that proves to be solidly untrue once you get to watch him fold wrapping paper. The edges are thick and crinkled, and each box ends up held together by far too much tape.

Finally you sit back to check your work. “That looks like everything,” you hum. “You’ll help me hand ‘em out at school too, right?”

“Of course I’ll help,” Hariya sounds almost offended you would assume he would ignore another chance to impress you. “You need someone to carry things for you, right? I can do that.” He shoves his hand into his pants pocket as he talks, and his face changes. “—where’s my cell?”

You look up at him as he stands to dig through his pockets. “I didn’t touch it; didn’t you just set it down?” A quick glance at your carpet tells you the phone isn’t there— such a bright shade of orange would stand out among your carpet and the gifts.

“It’s not in any of my pockets—” Hariya is interrupted by a familiar jingle that echoes through the room, and you’re not surprised to hear that he’d set one of his own songs as his ringtone. The music is muffled, almost like it’s—

“...we wrapped it.”

No problem! It is a little complicated just starting out. In tokimemo there’s 6 relationship levels. mad, sad, neutral, grinning, smiling, and blushing. I believe for love bombs if they are at grinning that’s when they can start. if they’re neutral and below you’re all clear. Love bombs are definitely a late game problem, they’re easy to avoid early game.  I think all of them are worth doing. You only see the principal very rarely and in tokimemo you only go on “dates” with the faculty by going on extra curricular class trips so the weird aspects are easy to avoid. I personally recommend starting at 3 just cause it’s the easiest and I enjoy the mc’s two friends. I’d say save one for last, so basically work backwards. 1 is difficult (at least it was for me ) without having some experience under me. From what I’ve experienced rival mode can only activate year three. In terms of how hard it is, it really depends on where the relationship level is when rival mode starts. If you’re already at blushing, it isn’t a real challenge at all. But, if you’re at smiling it can definitely take some work. I don’t think rival mode starts with a boy you’re at grinning with. For rival mode you can win it two ways. 1) have the boy at blushing or 2) spending time with your rival. method 1 is the easiest. method 2 is really tedious but worth while if you enjoy the girl you are rivaled with. the only downside is you have to spend weeks hanging out with her and doing this raises your stress level super high. I’d say that all the boys are good people in general, you of course have your usual bad boy and womanizer arch types but they’re not bad people (except for Taro Majima in 2 but we don’t talk about him lol) . For tokimemo 1 I’d recommend Madoka Kijyo or Sakuya Morimura, It’s been a while since I’ve played 1 but I remember liking them. 2 I’d recommend Kounoshin Hariya or Itaru Hikami. 3 Junpei Niina (he is my personal favorite of all 3 games) or Ruka Sakurai. I’m working on trying to translate Hariya Kounoshin’s  image song “Only You” (because why would I not? He’s my favorite tsundere)

I’ve assembled the romanji and the kanji and I’m trying to figure out the translation. But if anyone else can work with the kanji + romanji and come up with a translation better and quicker than me you know...if you speak the language... that would be all the better.
