So fun fact:

When I was in 4th grade, my music class had to put on this performance called “100 Years of Broadway”, in which we sang little snippets of 100 different Broadway songs in this giant medley. I’m talking “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning”, “Send in the Clowns,” “Put on a Happy Face”, you name it. And my absolute favorite song we did in that show was a snippet of “For Good”. This was before I even knew what Wicked was, and at the time the musical was only a few years old. But I just thought it was the most beautiful song I’d ever heard. As a child, the Wizard of Oz was one of my favorite movies ever. I had the Dorothy dress, I had ruby slippers that I constantly wore, I had a Dorothy Barbie doll complete with her basket and a little Toto figurine to go inside. Can you imagine the wonderful surprise I felt some years later when I discovered that this song I fell in love with was connected in some way to one of my favorite movies of all time? It’s like it was just meant to be. I’ve adored the story of Dorothy and her friends for so many years, and the story of the witches of Oz has meant a lot to me as well. Everything about the Oz world is just so special to me, and I am so thrillified for Wicked’s 20th anniversary! Thanks for changing me For Good, and may you continue to Defy Gravity for 20+ more years 💚💗
