Belated mother's day pic and just a little something since were past the point (at the time of this writing) that Lucy is introduced into the story, so here's her and her mother (whom I dub Minerva in the AU version of Dracula I'm doing). Happy Mother's Day!

We're one of three Little Free Libraries on our block, so we send our books to the other two and they come by for a seasonal sucker. We do something for every holiday, like stuffed animals and heart shaped suckers for Valentine's Day. You get the picture. We could decide what Mother's Day needed until my 13 year old said, "Go weird. Pregnancy tests. Definitely." So... If you happen to see our little library, have a pregnancy test and a sucker.

This is a small way of appreciating All Mothers.

From those that gave birth to their offspring. To those that chose to be one by stepping into the role in other ways. Be you single parents stepping into both roles or Step-Parents that accepted your children despite not sharing blood.

To the Mom friends, we are a special kind. We may not be the actual one to be a Parent, but we do our best to support others in the ways that can be lacked.

To the Nurturers of those around you be it a found family, a stitched together quilt of personalities that you adore.

To the Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunts, and Sisters that have done and are trying their best.

To the Mothers of Pets; fuzzy, scaled, and feathered alike.

To the Mothers that have gone before their time, to the Mothers that were not given enough time.

There is no true guide for being a Parent. No way to know if you are going about the right thing as Motherhood comes to those in different ways.

Being a Mother is hard work and while others can help, most of the time it feels like you are alone. From amazing days to the days that are filled with dread and struggles.

Thank you for caring, for loving, and supporting. For being able to push through the challenges Life has thrown at you and continue to be strong.
