Starting May 4th (lasting the hole month) I will be writing short one shots/head canons of what your life would be like in the Star Wars Galaxy. If I don’t know you personally they will probably be shorter unless you give me a specific prompt. The only rules for the event is for you to answer the quiz linked above and tell me your results in your ask. You don’t have to be a Star Wars fan but if you are not please say that and your level of Star Wars knowledge so I can write the Oneshot in a way you will understand. You can add any extra detail like, I want to be a bounty Hunter, or I want to be from the Imperial era, but that’s entirely optional. you do not have to be a force user. I will write prequels onward except for the sequels because I just don’t know them well enough (sorry other Hux fans). I will do Legends new republic and new Jedi order era though.

Common sense (hopefully) dictates that the majority of cards will be from the Legends era since that is ~35 years of publication vs. ~11 years.

Realest May the 4th Talk

I never liked May 4th my whole life.

Because this was my abusive-ass biological father's birthday. Which just came with all kinds of awful feelings, even if he's long dead and gone, on this day I'm a scared little kid again, no matter where I am. Or was, until this year.

This year, I'm an actual Star Wars fan, it's not just background noise for a fandom I'm not part of, it's something I care about too - and so, for the first time in my life, May 4th isn't about an awful man who I literally two days ago had a nightmare about, it's about excitement and fun and things and people I love instead, both fictional and real, cool people I've met through it. And also my ACTUAL dad (basically adopted, just call me a foundling) who loves it too, and watches it with me when I never would have alone, and gives me everything I should have had before.

Literally THIS ALONE would make it worth everything, and I'm so grateful to this universe and people who love it, for giving me back at least one day a year that was once lost to misery.

On this, the 4th of May, as many Star Wars fans are gearing up for the new series “The Acolyte,” let’s not forget…

The creator, writer, and runner of this show - Leslye Headland - was the close personal assistant of Harvey Weinstein.

She kept his schedule and address book, she made his appointments - she was allowed to organize his life. Which means she had to know everything he did at all times.

And she must’ve done some pretty big favors for him…not only did he bankroll her early playwriting career, he also produced and distributed her first movie, Bachelorette. Some of her thoughts on him:

Sabezra Dinbo Solidarity Week

Hello Rebels and The Mandalorian fans! Happy May 4th!

Ever since The Mandalorian season 3 started focusing on developing the relationship between Din Djarin and Bo-Katan Kryze, people started to ship them! And other people started to hate on them for shipping it! Fans of Rebels who ship Sabine and Ezra for similar reasons that people ship Din and Bo, recognized the parallels immediately in both the attacks of the haters in fandom and in how both relationships are developed in canon.

So given how similar Sabezra and Dinbo are, both in how they’re treated in fandom, how they are presented in canon, and with the added potential of them being the co-power couples of the mandoverse, Luna (a Dinbo shipper who also loves Sabezra) and I, Emily (a Sabezra shipper who fell in love with Dinbo over the course of mando S3) decided it would be an awesome idea to have a joint ship week to promote solidarity and positivity between these two ships to counteract all the hate Dinbo is currently getting after the conclusion of mando S3, and all of the hate that is coming down the pike for Sabezra once Ahsoka airs in a few months.

Luna here! Every single Star Wars movie and show has had a romance in it. The prequels had Anidala, OT had HanLeia, and sequels had Reylo. Rogue One had RebelCaptain. Clone Wars had Obitine. Solo had Han/Qi'ra. Rebels had Kanera which is the best couple in Star Wars so far. I highly doubt that the Ahsoka Series and The Mandalorian will be an exception. Out of every ship, Dinbo and Sabezra have the best potential to become canon. They both currently have the most compelling dynamics in the Mandoverse. Let's celebrate them jointly because we are all in this together.

Emily here! I really love a good slow burn and seeing these two relationships develop over the course of their respective shows just really excites me and inspires me to create for them! Regardless of what happens in canon I adore these pairings and the people I’ve met through shipping them and I just want to spread that love and positivity in this fandom because it is so sorely needed nowadays with how toxic everything has become! If I’m being honest I started shipping dinbo purely out of spite because I saw haters using the same arguments for it that they use against sabezra but now that I’ve seen all of S3 in it’s entirety with all of that amazing content for dinbo I’m hooked 😂 I just think that sabezra and dinbo compliment each other so well, and I hope that we get to see these couples both go canon and team up but whether or not that happens, I’m sure fandom can provide as it always does! Like Luna said, we’re all in this together so let’s have each other’s backs and create some awesome content together!

Another thought on Barriss' story

I was watching a fair amount of reviews of TotE on youtube, just to get perhaps different perspectives and reviews of the arcs (Mostly the Barriss arc)

Some of the criticisms were valid (Too much story with short episodes, so much story missing to tell)

Some criticisms were subjective (some people wanted more Sith dynamic, a duel with Ahsoka, some people think redeeming Lyn was too much redemption)

Most of the critiques were positive of Barriss character arc, but felt the story needed more to it, or it was a repetitive theme that the Lyn/Barriss duel was parallel to Kenobi/Maul's duel in Rebels although there was maybe one or two critics disappointed that Barriss found redemption. Of course, Barriss getting impaled naturally has people feeling that Barriss will only be dead until Filoni wants to pull her back into a story in the future.

I guess my reason for bringing this up is that everyone is still fresh in the Euphoria (or disappointment) in TotE and the Barriss arc. Personally, I am very glad that all future tributes to Barriss don't have to focus on her speech at the trial in Season 5, but the more bittersweet scenes from her duel with Lyn, which I find to be more beautiful in that we can finally celebrate Barriss as a true Jedi. Given that the original Order 66 Death and the Original death planned for Wrong Jedi were both rather brutal, I am happy that her final fight with 4th Sister was a more soft and appropriate experience for fans. That, and I can see Barriss being quite a subject for conversations, art, cosplay, fanfiction, panels at future Star Wars celebrations, etc.

I think it makes me feel good that she is going to be even more popular as time goes by, despite critiques of TotE, even if she never returns to canon. She may very well become the legend I think a lot of us hoped she could be.
