march is the most excited for pride month out of everyone on the astral express. she stays up until midnight on june 1st like it's new year's eve

AGGRESSIVE with all her pride merch. she gets you so much shit too. pride shirt. pride sweatshirt. pride socks. a million pride bracelets.

if the two of you go out together in june, she makes sure you're also dressed to the nines in various flags and rainbow colors

drags you to the pride parades. march convinces the crew of the express to let her make a train float for the parade of whatever planet you're on and she goes TO THE MAX with it.

speaking of the express, when everyone wakes up and enters the main train car, they find march putting up streamers and blasting lady gaga at full volume

she's one for more subtle pride merch. maybe a hair-tie or a bracelet, but she has at least one little flag on her at all times.

also has some pride pajamas. hey, they're comfy.

if you're comfortable, she'll take you to the pride parades. if not, no problem, the two of you can celebrate from home.

also probably gifts you something! she gets matching pins for the two of you so you can be proud... together!!

if any of the other express crew comments on her little pride ornaments, she goes "yeah? and what about it?" like a queen. this is completely ineffective however because the entire crew is queer in some way

oh, it's june again. alright.

doesn't really see the need to celebrate, but will allow you to adorn him with various pride baubles if you so desire

thinks it's very cute if you get excited about pride... like yeah, yeah you should be proud.

while he doesn't outwardly show much excitement about the occasion, you notice welt gets more affectionate with you

there are more little forehead kisses when he passes you, more reaching for your hand when he walks beside you, and you swear you can feel him hold you just a little bit tighter when you go to sleep

when march proposes the idea of decorating the express, he gives a slight but genuine smile and shoots you a knowing look.

even though he could celebrate himself this month if he chose to, for welt, it's more about celebrating you and the relationship he has with you.

he's more proud of that than anything else.

BRONYA

exhausted by pride month before it even begins LOL

being the head of the city, she's in charge of sanctioning and scheduling and planning all the official pride parades and celebrations happening around belobog, and, well... wow, are people in belobog really fucking gay

also deigns to go give some speeches at a couple of the rallies. she's a cool supreme guardian

cocolia allowed pride parades during her reign, but she never encouraged them. both to celebrate her own identity and yours and completely spite her mother, bronya encourages the people of belobog to go all out

and they do!

she gets a couple of gifts for you. not anything super huge or out there, but a flag or a shirt or a hair pin to match with one of hers.

bronya also gets premium seats to any pride parade she goes to, and she definitely takes advantage of this. kind of the best dates ever.

and when she's exhausted by the day's events and the two of you lay down to bed, you can hear her quietly wish you happy pride.

GEPARD LANDAU

gets really excited about pride, but doesn't really know what to do with it

and also, as captain of the silvermane guards, he's tasked with making sure all the official belobog pride parades are safe and orderly

this is quite the task given how passionate belobog's gay community is

on days where he doesn't bring you, he comes back covered in fans and stickers and streamers and confetti in the colors of pretty much any queer flag you can think of.

he has you deck out his armor for him. you grab your paint and stickers and washi tape and decorate the hell out of him

he's so happy when you do this. it's a very sweet moment full of fun and laughter and intimacy

no cops at pride! only gepard landau and his exuberant rainbow armor

SERVAL LANDAU

only knows what pride month is because you explain it to her

while there's a normal sized lgbtq+ population in the underground, chances are pride celebrations every year are short and not very big

she learns about it and is so excited

seele wants to go to a pride parade in the overworld with you, but even more than that she wants to set up a parade for the people in the underground so they can really celebrate themselves

it takes a few weeks of planning and execution, but it's successful and it pays off. it's a huge amount of fun for everyone in the underground who wants to participate, and a welcome distration from the lingering effects of the stellaron

part of the planning for this of course involves taking out to attend pride parades up in belobog

the first few minutes of being in the crowd, seele is a little nervous about all the people and the fact she can't move around too easily. but she gets used to it pretty quickly

she has the best reflexes out of everyone in the crowd and manages to catch every single freebie thrown off of the floats. she brings them back to distribute among the kids in the underground.

NATASHA

natasha is reasonably excited for pride month

possibly the most normal out of everyone on jarilo VI

she puts little rainbow flag posters up on the walls of her clinic to make sure that queer kids know they're safe there year round, but they double during june

YOU CANNOT convince me natasha isn't the biggest giver of hrt treatment on jarilo VI you cannot

she wishes all her trans and otherwise queer patients happy pride when they come in, and hands out little rainbow stickers to kids she has to give shots to

her work takes up most of her day, and she regrets this during this month the most because she can't spend time with you

she's able to take the day off for your birthday and other important occasions, but patients need care

to make it up to you, the month of june is full of extra late-night dates once she's gotten home from the clinic and candlelit dinners.

SAMPO

i've said it before and i'll say it again: sampo runs an overpriced pride merch stall

and you look sooooo cute modeling all those pins and buttons and shirts and socks and hats and

has you stand around waving your flags decked out in all things rainbow, to attract customers

a couple of people rightfully accuse him of ripping them off, but sampo just blinks up at them innocently. they'd really accuse him of such a thing? during pride month of all times? have they no shame?

sampo has no shame. those customers were reacting reasonably.

when he's not conducting business, he's even more affectionate than usual, which, frankly, is difficult to do since he's usually glued to your side

the general... has almost no time to spare for pride month

which, honestly, is such a disappointment to him. he was so looking forward to june and spending extra time with you

Fun facts abt residents & castle trio according to Ikevamp Radio (ヴァンなま) Part 7

Episode idk the number but Happy 7th Anniversary Ikevamp!!

It’s with Morishin (Sebas’s VA) ONLY so I’m kinda bummed about that… but he always makes every episode chaotic so I guess that’s a plus (no this isn’t Sebas hate)

So apparently in the Ikesen livestream, on June 3, it was determined that the nickname for Yamada Shiro, the artist for Ikevamp and Ikesen, would be “Shiro-chan” (it’s cute)

Morishin is like “Shiro-chan are you watching??” and then proceeds to worry if it’s appropriate to say that (but everyone in chat just spams “Shiro-chan!!” in the comments)

Morishin touching Leo’s boob mousepad LMAOO (also the fact that apparently he was told in the rehearsal that he was allowed to grope it) → and then told by the comments that maybe he touched it too much

After the ads, Morishin said “... So I was told that I was seen by Shiro-chan..” while groping Leo’s boobs??? HAHAHA

The options were more diverse, with 3 being the most popular choice, but 4 being the 3rd most popular choice (darn it). The correct answer is… Numero 3

Morishin said that it wouldn’t be weird if Comte (or everyone in Ikevamp) would participate in Paris Olympics (happening rn) with their buff bodies HAHA

Next Morishin introduces the different pictures of this campaign where viewers could slide their fingers on screen (on the characters) and remove their clothes /// (again HOW IS THIS AVAILABLE ON YT???)

In the “I love yu” segment (love that it’s been here since the beginning) 

(it’s only Sebas here so I’ll just have his name once) Sebas: *Hums* Today was such an amazing day. Who would’ve thought that we would be able to go to the beach as a leisure activity? The observation details were everywhere! It was almost too much by myself. As soon as I get out of the bath, I shall start taking notes in my journal. *GASP!!* I felt a signal of wanting to know the contents of my diary!! Are you curious? You want to know, yes? Of course. I’ll go to the center of the bathtub and shout my love of these historical figures.

Arriving at the beach, everyone couldn’t take their eyes off of your figure in a swimsuit, but the ones to take the initiative were Master Arthur and Charles. Because surprise, it was them two who had chosen your swimwear. “You can enjoy the beach to the max with a girl’s swimsuit” is what they said, not even willing to hide their true intentions. The two—as the sexy representation—stared at you in your figure, enjoying the beach to the fullest.

Following them, Masters Napoleon and Isaac took some time walking by the shore. I was watching them from under the parasol, but their figures depicting young love was something out of a drama. Holding your hand tightly as you were blown by the salty winds, showing the future of the cutest love triangle… On which channel could I watch the second episode?? Oh, my apologies.

After the walk, the ones who invited you for lunch were Masters Leonardo and Drake. The large fish that Drake caught was swiftly chopped by Leonardo, completing an exquisite sashimi lunch. Of course, the soy sauce was provided by myself.

After lunch, a drawing event was held by the van Gogh brothers in the sand. The three’s challenging tastes clashed, completing a squid-like product the more you look at it, the more you love. Everyone’s satisfied expressions were brighter than the sunlight in the summer, and is that wholesome moment—allowed to be viewed for free??

After that, you were invited by Dazai-san and Faust to sunbathe, but as soon as I heard that they want to “xxxxxx” you, I, Satou Akihiko, could not stand by and watch! I replied. I stumbled on my words from the aggressiveness, but please understand my consideration. 

Leading you to Master Jean and Shakespeare, the three of you listened to the sound of waves. The three of you shared your own world there—mmm, very romantic. 

When Herr Mozart and Vlad invited you out into the shade, your cheeks were very warm, as if you had a heat stroke. Cooling off in the shade… I would like to experience that as well. I am waiting for your invitation. 

At last, it was dinner time, and you were invited to a seaside restaurant by Comte and Galileo. While you were enjoying the seafood dishes, the two were sipping on their wine. As a historical maniac, the scene was a delicious dish. Sebas can eat much more!!

Of course, I was able to enjoy time with you too. Sitting by the shore, laughing “ahaha, ahaha” and “Hey~you did it,” splashing water together. Your face was glowing with the drops of water, something from a dream. 

When the others are with you, they look so happy. To be able to observe them is something I enjoy. However, there is a side of me that wants to keep you all to yourself. This way of thinking… may be taboo for a butler like me. But it should be okay if it’s something I do in my head. Here, let me think of a confession of love I want to say to you at the beach.

“Even if I know that this is a forbidden love, my feelings for you cannot be stopped. I want to take you to the far ends of the sea, where no one will know of our circumstances. That is how much I love you.”

With this, I, Sebas, will be able to overcome this challenging summer. Well, before we overheat, let’s get out of the bath and start writing in our historical figure journals. The fact that I have this journal is something the others must not know—a taboo.

Hello everyone!

First of all, thank you to all 48 participants of the interest poll, it was very interesting to see how another ship week would be perceived! Considering that at least 12 voters confirmed to be happy to dive into participating, I think there isn’t a more suitable date than June 1st, the beginning of Pridemonth, to officially announce this year’s Taikouvember event! (Title picture + new icon provided by @seventeenlovesthree)

November is the last month of autumn, right before Christmas time begins. It’s a time that can be filled with light and coziness but also lurking shadows and gloominess. So, November 6th to November 12th shall be dedicated to the platonic or romantic relationship between Taichi Yagami and Koushiro Izumi (Taikou, Koutai or mainly known as Taishiro(u) in the English speaking fandom). Since "Digimon Adventure 02 - The Beginning" will air on October 27th 2023 as well, some of the prompts are inspired by the potential theme of the movie:

TS Outfit Madness: Guidelines & Contest

Thank you to everyone who participated in #tsmusicvideomadness and #tsredcarpetmadness! I'm really excited to share the next tournament I have planned will launch NOON EST on Friday, June 7th: #tsoutfitmadness. This will be a tournament of Taylor's best performance looks from tours, award shows, and miscellaneous performances. I've been doing a ton of research to find both the looks and images over the past month. Due to the sheer amount of looks I've found, I won't be releasing my usual bracket because there are simply too many.

If anyone has a certain performance look they would like to be included, please list them in the replies or send me a message, so I can ensure they are included.

The rules for this tournament are simple:

Starting Friday, June 7th, I will release a matchup of four performance looks worn by Taylor (with images provided) to vote on. The winning look will then move on to thenext round. The polls will be posted each day at noon EST and voting will remain open for 24 hours.

Different variations of the same look will be in polls together to determine the favourite. For example, a single poll will determine the favourite colour variation of the OG 1989 looks: pink, orange, green, or blue.

The yellow-hued leaves crinkled against your thickened boots as you strolled down the bustling streets of New York. Autumn here was quite beautiful, although you did prefer springtime, where the green and full trees glistened against the sun. The cold air tickles your face before your movements come to an abrupt halt. A tall man cowers above you, emerald green eyes sparkling as he profusely apologizes. You manage to give him a small smile and wave off the accidental mishap. It was rush hour after all. People have jobs and lives. You manage to get a better glimpse of him. His broad shoulders were covered in a black business suit, complimenting the loosely done bun that his brown locks were in. He seemed to be well established. You hoped to maybe, just maybe, bump into the handsome stranger once more.

November 13th, 2023

Heading home after another boring day at the office was a pain in the ass. You were not looking forward to being on the jam-packed trains. But here you were, waiting for the next train to take you home. Oh how good that sounds right now to just be snuggled in your warm bed. After about 5 minutes of watching rats crawl through the tracks, the loud train comes to a screeching halt as you begin to board. Grabbing onto the first railing you spot overhead, you notice a familiar loose bun in your peripheral view. 

“Hey, you’re the guy that bumped into me the other day.” You laugh, as he turns to face you. Those damn emerald eyes catching your gaze, as his face heats up in a light shade of crimson.

Stand clear of the closing doors please.

What were the odds that you’d see him again? Maybe god answered your prayers? Who knows. What you do wish now though, is that you never encountered him. Ever again.

December 31st, 2023

A month goes by. A month of movie dates, sleepovers, late night calls, traveling to the inner depths of the city for pizza, before he decides to make things official. It was you and Eren against the world. He began opening up about how his family resided back home in Tokyo, a family that consisted of a stay at home mom, his adopted sister Mikasa, and his now deceased father. 

The past month was a whirlwind to say the least. You fell hard and fast, along with Eren. He was charming, intelligent, humorous, and everything that you envisioned in a dream man. You could say that you were in love. 

The music was booming, as the clock struck 11:00PM. Your friends sky rise apartment overlooked the city, and lucky for you all, you got a pretty kickass view of Times Square. You were radiant the whole night, excitedly chattering away and introducing Eren to all of your friends at the gathering. Everyone adored him, some even compared him to your last boyfriend, Levi, who ended up cheating on you with some bimbo you can’t even remember. Of course Eren knew about this. Conversations flowed so freely between the both of you, and as you explained the hurt and pain that Levi caused, Eren made a promise that you were his & he was yours. Forever.

The countdown began as a drunk Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen graced the gigantic television screen in the living room. Everyone who was oh so casually buzzed, joins in obnoxiously.

8 months since you met your other half, or so you thought. Everything happened so quickly, and maybe that’s why you both were reaching a slow burn now. It’s been weeks since he last grazed your skin. Weeks since you last felt his lips passionately overlapping yours. Now whenever he returns home, it’s nothing but a small exchange of,

“Not tonight love, I’m headed to bed. Work has been exhausting.”

The sudden disruption in your relationship was all too familiar. You dealt with this once before. He wouldn’t cheat right? Eren was one of the chairmen for a well-known party company, and it was summer which was the peak for their business. You sigh as you pour a glass of wine and linger around the living room for a moment, contemplating what your next move should be. Grabbing your phone, you shoot a text to Eren’s sister, who you’ve only communicated with via. FaceTime calls and texts.

Y/N: SOS

Mikasa: What’s going on? Just woke up

You forgot about the time gap that filled in between New York & Tokyo. Did you really want to bug Mikasa so early on in her day with this bullshit? Yes. Yes you did.

Y/N: Eren’s been acting off recently Mikasa: Explain further Y/N: He hasn’t really, done much with me in weeks. I’m not really a priority for him anymore. It’s strange how distant he’s become. Mikasa: Hmm…if it gives you peace of mind, maybe talk to him?  Y/N: Alright, I’ll keep you updated xo

Did you truly want to talk to him? Of course, but you couldn’t shake off the gnawing feeling that was telling you to look through his phone. That was the one thing that would give you peace of mind. So that’s exactly what you decided to do. Eren’s light snores filled the shared bedroom that you once held countless passionate nights in for the past two months. Tip toeing ever so gently, you swipe his phone from the nightstand before returning to the living room.

You glance down at your marked arm. In a whirlwind and drunken night out with Eren, you both decided to get matching tattoos. You remember the shocked expression that took over his face as you slurred the words ‘Let’s get tattoos’, but he agreed nonetheless. You both laughed and ran through the crowded nighttime streets of New York and headed into the tattoo parlor. As cheesy as it was, the tiny heart appears to taunt you as regret instantly clouds your mind. You knew that this wasn’t worth fighting for. What happened to him. The promise he made you. Why did he do this.

You continue to torture yourself as you scroll through more of their steamy message exchanges. The living room light emitting a faint buzzing sound as your salty tears gently tap onto the phone screen.

Life was full of surprises. This being one of them. Although unpleasant, you knew you couldn’t control his emotions, as much as you had wanted to. The mascara dries along your reddened cheeks as you pour another glass of wine.

You suddenly heard the heavy patter of feet behind you as you saw a picture of the two casually smoking together, Eren’s arms wrapped around the mystery girls waist with smiles plastered across their faces.

You knew Eren smoked every once in a while to help with his anxiety, and you could only assume that the two were at a party as a purple hue dawned their joyous faces.

“Y/N what are you doi-,” Eren stops dead in his tracks, hair messily displayed as he awakens from his slumber. He was caught. Red fucking handed. The tension could easily be cut with a knife as no words are spoken between the two of you. You can’t even look him in the eye as he takes a seat next to you. The fucking audacity of this man. “Listen, I can explain,” You tune him out, hearing nothing but muffled noise. You were in a daze.

The next few weeks were filled with Eren trying to win you over once again, only for him to be met with cold responses. Your friends were in the midst of trying to get you out of there. Why did your lovestruck ass have to sign a lease with him so quickly? Well, that’s all in the past now. If he wanted her, he can have her.

A bouquet of roses? You threw them in the trash.

A reservation to your favorite restaraunt? You didn’t bother to show.

Bringing back the daily routine you once had of him giving you a kiss and twirling you when he comes home from work? Eh, I don’t think so.

The night when you first found everything on his phone, you saw the exchanges of ‘I love you’s’ between the pair, leaving a bitter taste in your mouth. You prayed silently it was just the lust talking, and he didn’t truly love her. But what difference would it make? The damage had already been done.

Eren was broken. He felt like his world came crashing down right before his very eyes. His heart shattered inch by inch with each attempt proving to be a failure in his aim to win you back. 

July 2nd, 2024

Eren was speechless to come home with you nowhere in sight, was this just a bad dream? No. It couldn’t be. You had left. No goodbye, no note. Nothing. The apartment was cold & empty. He knew he lost you for good now. Was a quick fuck worth losing someone this important to him? His once green and dazzling eyes were now dark and gloomy, tears threatening to spill out at any given moment.

Your heart was broken in two as you sat in your new apartment, nestled in the heart of Manhattan. You wanted so badly to text Eren, but you knew in your heart, that you deserved better. Much better. Your phone vibrates beneath you.

"Shit." You hiss, forgetting to block his number.

So I did this

So the left over letters are E and EVE so my theory is that the extra letters are gonna spell out a date, kinda like how she did with The Fearless TV Announcement post. So my thoughts were that very few things date-wise use the letter V so I narrowed it down to leading possibilities

I eliminated the seventeenth and the twenty seventh just because those are way too many letters to put on a shirt and there aren’t that many iconic catch phrases from Red that can go on the shirt

So that leaves November, Seven, and Eleven. I’m definitely not going to eliminate any of these three because they are all entirely possible. But, my leading theory in the month is coming from a different post from Taylor Nation

First of all this post caught me OFF GUARD. They post this shit in DECEMBER and I’m just supposed to act like it’s NOTHING??? So yeah anyways the thing I’m taking from this is June mainly because of the “PROUD” bracelet and the rainbow. The fact that they also added the Fearless/ Lover bracelets just make me think that it was a further nudge towards June.

So currently my leading theory on the release date of SN TV is June 7th and I chose 7 because it’s the shortest of the three I mentioned earlier, and “June seventh” has 3 Es and there are 3 Es left over from the current shirts.

So if we go by this, then we would need

18 more letters, including the ones missing from “Speak Now Taylor’s Version”

The letters we would need would be

So with this, my guess is that there will be 3-5 more shirts revealed between now and May

Sandman primarily, lots of crossovers, and one for DND Honor Among Thieves which is not a crossover (The Ring Bear). I also have several done for Fuckboi Dream, but I'm waiting to post them until it is finished (if you ask nicely I might let you see them).

Yes! Because I don't get very many and I love them! Thank you to everyone who comments and gives kudos, it means so much! I write for myself, but it helps a lot to know I'm not shouting into the void.

I write sweetness and fluff -- there may be a little bit of angst in the beginning or middle, but certainly not in the end. Maybe you'd like the one that ends in consensual punishment (bdsm fade to black)? The Dragon's Tongue

May I bring to your attention The Dragon Rider? All my endings are happy, but this one makes me particularly happy because Dragon!

No. I don't really write anything controversial I think? And I'm not well known. And Sandman fans are kind.

I have attempted but I end up fading to black mostly. My smuttiest ones... Fucking Helm Fucking (Hob and Dream discuss "protection"), The Dragon's Tongue (bdsm scene fade to black), Naga No-Go ("awkward sexual situations" tag), and that one chapter of A World where children won't cry (a Hob and Dream scene in a Spy x Family crossover).

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Apparently I love crossovers! Space Buns is the first one in my Sandman x Spy x Family crossover series. Five Guesses Why Hob is Immortal and One Broken Plate is the first of my Scooby Doo crossovers. Well... why not? is the most Good Omens of my Good Omens crossovers.

Two of my fics came from a tumblr post discussion/based off someone's tags with permission -- Ring Bear with @witheringfears and Well... why not? with Avelera. Several of them are based on other people's art -- King of Night, Space Buns, Butterflies, Halloween, Well... why not? Comic/show character switch, Karaoke, and June 7th, 2389. A couple I commissioned art for: Sometimes when you fall, you fly and Fireflies and a Missing Person! Dinner and a Play I wrote so @carnelianmeluha could cook to it, including several of her requested favourite food items! I've also done art for other people's fics a few times!

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

I'm not sure I can answer all time, but I love Gaulcienne (Gault x Lucienne from The Sandman) a lot!

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I want to write a Sandman x InCryptids (Seanan McGuire) crossover, but I'm not sure it will happen. Just in the mulling ideas stage still.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I enjoy writing dialogue. Sometimes I do a good job making people laugh, or finding just the right words, or characterizing a blorbo just right.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I can't seem to get the smut to carry on (yet?) and I don't write much description. I'm not sure if I just don't like it, or if I don't do it because I can't/am bad at it? Anyway, I'm not going to worry about it, it will come eventually perhaps.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Go for it! Making it clear from context or including a translation is considerate, but really. Doesn't hurt us English speakers to realize there are other languages in the world.

The Sandman: Pottery (a post-Wake Destruction and Dreamling fic)

I love all my children! How can I choose? No really. A Quiet Love with Wings is my Gaulcienne series, and I really love it. It gets less attention than the other fics, I think because people sort for Dreamling. Give it some love for me?

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Happy belated New Year...I guess. I’m not sure if I wrote a recap post from last year. If not, here it is lol. Two months into 2023 and I’m living in my joy. During the summer I said I want to live in peace, and I been living in peace since I gain stability in my life. Though October is an emotional triggering time for me, I declared that I want to live in joy. And reflecting back, I DESERVE PEACE & JOY! 2020 to 2022 were doozies for me. Sometimes I wonder how I even made it this far. I know for sure that my faith in God helped me overcome my challenges and helped me make some tough decisions. Those years taught me how strong I am and how far my love goes. After October I feel like a new woman. Similar to 2018, I made space to love myself again. I renewed the confidence inside myself that I pushed aside in order to adhere to the needs of others. I’m being more intentional in how I take care of my needs. Like Miley Cyrus says, “I can buy myself flowers”.

It is the 7th month mark of me being employed at BIDMC. The time is actually passing by fast. Soon I will be celebrating my 1-year anniversary with Adelante and the Center for Violence Prevention & Recovery. I’m not sure if I would label this as a roadblock, yet I’m questioning my “WHY”. When I say my “why”, I mean I’m questioning why I choose to work for CVPR. I know my reasons why I decided to apply for the peer specialist and social work advocate positions with Adelante. However, if Adelante didn’t exist, and the position as a social worker was open with CVPR would’ve I took interest in the open position. Would I even apply? I started thinking about this about a week or two weeks ago. Flipping thru the pages of my social work (SW) journal, I wrote down Adelante’s job posting three times, so I have no doubt that God called me to this program. During the interview process I think I unconsciously ignored the job responsibilities associated with CVPR. It’s like things have flipped over these past months. My first 3 months I was engulfed in a CVPR bubble. Once things started to settle down around late September to mid-October, I found myself in an Adelante bubble which I’m not complaining about because I had so many questions on what I was supposed to be doing regarding my Adelante clients. And then the concerns around the programs funding was holding space in the back of my mind [and still does a little bit]. With the increase in pay and a revision/renewal of the MOVA grant that CVPR receives, and the fact we can’t afford to lose any more staff, I still have a job at the end of June 2023. I’m not sure if I could sustain myself working a full time On-call schedule. Thinking about it, it feels like I’m back interning in the Intake department at Samaritan House except CVPR receives everyone from underneath the sun even though they may not fit the program’s criteria, CVPR overextends itself to help EVERYONE.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to help those in acute distress, but when is enough enough...you know? BURNOUT. COMPASSION FATIGUE. Out of the blue I became sick which sucks. Yet, I believe this is God’s way of telling me that I need to rest because I’m doing too much. 8am to 5pm in the office. A long 5-day work week. Back-to-back with few breaks. Only two days to do what I want, but really can’t because I’m trying to catch up on the adult aspects of my life outside of work. Preparing for my ASWB Master’s exam. Being more active at NewCity Church. Indulging in my hobbies. Squeezing time to socialize in some capacity. Painting a picture for myself at this phase of my life. Creating & reading this list is making me tired hahaha. It felt good leaving work around 2pm after being there since 7:40am, and getting home around 3pm, take a midafternoon nap & still have energy for the rest of the evening. Feels like HEAVEN! I had to force myself to callout Friday because I was still feeling poopy. I’m glad I did because I rested more and got some fresh air, but the wind reminded me real quick that I was still sick. Yet that morning I was tempted to input case notes into the database. I can’t waste a sick day doing unpaid work. Again, I don’t get paid for overtime. If it wasn’t for how the OVC or MOVA grant is written, I could have a Monday to Thursday work schedule (I still meet the full-time criteria for BIDMC SW). Maybe after my 1-year anniversary, I can speak with Cynthia (my supervisor) if I can adjust my work hours. Mon to Thur 8am to 3pm then Fri 8:30am to 5pm (this seems reasonable to me). And still work from home on Wednesdays. On those days it’s still technically 8:30am to 5pm, but I start at 9:30 am to whenever I have my last meeting for that day [TBD].

All in all, I don’t regret my decision when it comes to my career. I work with a good time and receive good benefits. I wish us SW could have more vacation time and separate time for personal (mental health) days, but sometimes you have to give and take. In the long run, I would like to open my own bookstore whenever God calls me towards a different path or maybe when I’m close to retirement. I will sell used & new books along with some treats on some days like muffins, cookies, or brownies. Simple things. Or maybe a soup of the day if I feel like it. Outside of water, I can sell hot chocolate and/or apple cider when the Fall & Winter comes around. Depending on building space, I can host different events like book clubs, author/writer readings, open mic nights, SLAM poetry readings, and etc. I wouldn’t be doing it for the money. I believe everyone should have access to books that’s why I would like one of those mailboxes that are “Take a Book, Leave a Book” too. The simple life I’m telling you. I can create my own hours and I don’t need to hire many employees to help me out either. I don’t mind accepting volunteers.

My reading list keeps expanding lol. It’s like every few days I’m finding new book recommendations to add to the list. I think I have about 22 books on the list and counting. Me and Jada are restarting our mini book club in May. We are starting with one of her picks from her list then we will read a book from list. Right now, I’m in the mist of reading Michelle Obama’s second book. I want to follow that book with a novel called Jesus Feminist. Me knowing me, I’m going to be reading one or two other books simultaneously in between books. Throughout January, I’ve been working on my poetry and started formulating my second poetry collection. I need to revisit my first collection Purple Hearts and pick up where I left off...trying to get established so my collection can be sold on Amazon. I revised a few poems I wrote in 2021 and even selected a few to be used in my second collection. I still want to title this collection Mariposa (butterfly in Spanish). The writing process has been very therapeutic. I want to write more pose pieces. I’m experimenting with writing in different point of views as well as trying my skills in writing from the male perspective. Did some research and figured out what I want to do for my first solo trip. I want to rent a treehouse or cabin in Vermont for a three-day weekend (Sat to Mon), probably during the Fall. This will be like a mini writer’s retreat for myself. Being surrounded by nature in a relaxing environment should give me plenty of space to draw inspiration and creativity to write. I will bring little technology with me just the basics. That sounds lovely to me.

Oh wow! I’ve been in Boston for 2 years and 6 months. WOW! I can’t believe it. I still miss Gloucester, but Boston is slowly growing on me. I like the New England Fall and the energy it brings. Though I miss the Southern humidity, I like how the summer weather here is more like the Spring temperatures back at home. I was never really much of a fan of the snow, and I’m still not. I hate the frigid cold weather especially the negative degree weather we had last week (YIKES). I hate the traffic around here; Boston drivers are the worse, and the lack of parking is a nightmare. No public transportation system is perfect but at least Boston has an expansive one that can get me where I need to be without having to worry about traffic and parking. I like how I can always find something to do either in or outside of the city. I love the diverse food scene it feeds the foodie inside me lol. I wish the cost of living is cheaper, but it is one of those compromises because some of that money is used for public benefit services (I hope so anyway). Racism & discrimination exist here too and not just in the south or in small communities. My inner nerd loves the abundant options available when it comes to education. The dating scene for me hasn’t been the greatest experience. I’ve been able to expand my friend pool just a little bit. I discovered my church community (NewCity Church-Newton). I still have more of Massachusetts to explore.

I did make my 2023 Vision board. I would post it, but I don’t like how it’s in Black & White instead of color. It’s whatever. On this board it displays pictures of what I want phase or stage 2 of my life. Marriage, family, and my dream house. I won’t be having this future with my ex-partner. It took me a while to realize that for myself because I was watching other people near my age experiencing these major milestones when I envisioned myself taking those very steps too. God had other plans for me. I understand that He wanted me to have stability first before I could bring a life into this world or begin intertwining my life with someone else. Yet, marriage & family isn’t end game for me. I have so much more to look forward to, and I’m excited to share these experiences with my husband and children Ahyoka, Hendrix, & Ezra (if God allows Snoopy too). Considering my future, I might be living the early stages of my marriage and children’s lives in Massachusetts before relocating somewhere else. I would love to be closer to family so my children will be familiar with their family and my madre can help me out, but it’s one of those wait see things (opportunities). Whether I remain at BIDMC or not, I’m not sure where I would relocate. Newton is too expensive, and some other areas are too crowded. I want my own privacy. I don’t want to be living on top of other families or be in such close proximity to my neighbors like that. I just want to live somewhere where me and my husband can maintain good prosperous jobs, somewhat of a diverse community, my children have access to a good education and activities, and I can be a homeowner without sacrificing too much of my family and personal free time. 

My short-term goals: pass my ASWB Master’s exam (LCSW); purchase a “real” bed, pay-off my car, move into my own apartment, employed with Adelante for 5 years, take my mother on a vacation, become a partner at NewCity Church, travel to Jamaica & the Netherlands, and have my family visit me in Boston again.

My long-term goals: pass my ASWB Clinical exam (LICSW); build or purchase a home, continue to travel, publish Mariposa, pay-off my mother’s trailer, continue to have a successful career, be a youth/teen minister, reverse my PCOS symptoms, debt free, and continue to build my savings.
