A lot. There is a hell of a lot of stuff that happens when that does.

OR: Wilbur and Tommy have been yoinked, and Wilbur is not having it. Then he is. Then more crazy stuff happens. Then, someone gets re-yoinked by Dream, even more crazy stuff happens, and Wilbur's just existing through all of this going wtf is happening here.

You know the more I watch og Penelope Pitstop content, the more I feel like she actually was a bad person from the start or at least already grey (there were instances of her genuinely helping people like who she thought to be Red Riding Hood's grandma for example) but mostly pretending (and believed to be with how popular she was with a reputation of being nice and pretty) to be kind, which comforts my theory of her turning into an abusive mom to reboot Penelope and Pandora even more

Oh yes if you guys are not familiar with my theory, I wrote it in 3 posts, I HC she and Petunia are the same people and that an accumulation of a lot of bad things in her life made her bitter à la Beatrice Horseman and thus a bad mother : first post, second post and third post

What I mean is despite not being a cartoon villain like the Dastardlys or the other villains of the show, she is something a bit more realistic we could know in real life and who lives thanks to her charisma and reputation, we all know someone we KNOW is an asshole but nobody believes you because in appearence and reputation they are flawless (I know a bunch...)

Upon rewatching the old show and rereading comics, Penelope just feels really... fake nice, just the nice smiley you would expect of ladies back then but not out of sincerity but because they have to be charming and feminine and neutral faces are not feminine

And most of the times she takes advantage of men especially Peter to do the work for her and then doesn't help she just thanks them and they are happy simps, and ince they helped her OFF SHE GOES and doesn't do anything but a smile and blowing a kiss ; even her way to speak/her tone feels fake to me, always something that sounds naive and innocent and charming full of cute and amazed adjectives for everything and lil giggles making it feel dulcet to me

She rarely does something her car gadgets are ONLY for makeup and she spends most of her time in wanting to look beautiful, as ig to her a girl had to be pretty all the time AND she was pretty sure that with no effort she would probably win anywat by waving and giggling at the other dumb racers who would stop to help or slow down for her, she is a fan favorite too, so why bother with efforts ? Efforts are for boys ; if indeed she is Petunia she does reproach her daughter to truely race and not "leave it to the boys"

Making it feel like she is a case of mysoginistic woman. Not just if we go with her being Penelope the 1st/Petunia making very mean and sexist remarks to Penelope the 2nd about how she has to find a man, should settle down and retire, would get fat at any snack and that if she is fat she would be alone etc but also here where to her all women love girly things and if they don't they are not real women to her eyes

And let's not forget that until recently I did think she was sincere about Peter Perfect, but in the comics it's a recurring gag that she flirts both with him and Red Max and loves to have them fight for her, it's amusing and useful. Wtf that's a hoe move, like she loves to feel wanted and fought for (plus in the context of that page it makes 2 rivals less AND allows her once again to suceed without doing anything ; she knows what she is doing), and probably doesn't love any of them but flirts because they are strong handsome racers like her and she is so girly with the standards of that time she absolutely wants to have a ring put on her by any of them not out of love but so she has her wedding, and in the meantime has fun with her simps ; who knows what she does or says to the Anthill Mob (A FUCKING MOB WHO PROBABLY KILLED PEOPLE) for them to simp for her so hard they save her ass because she is pretty and "nice to them" one time out if 2

And lastly, more a theory than anything else this time... y'all remember that episode where we ALL agree, Dick Dastardly DID win but then the judges disqualified him using a tape that was obviously fake because too different from what we saw and even Dick and Muttley were horribly surprised as if they truely never extended their car, and more racers had done so before but never were disqualified and that is the biggest unfair scandal on television ? Either they hated him so much they didn't want him to win at all cost, or they had been bribed. And given how second place was Penelope Pitstop and she now wins by default, either they were bribed by a fan... or ny herself. She does hate Dick Dastardly, not polite to him (rightfully so tho) when he lands in her car, so maybe the thought of losing to "THIS LOSER NOBODY LIKES ANYWAY" had her act. I mean, I don't trust how innocently happy she looks when she gets all the glory right after that

Ok so before you all jump at my neck because of this post and the other ones I linked : I AM aware that the fact she is a bitch is just a theory and that canonly she is not lol and 1) I don't make that because I don't like her and want her to be awful, I just am someone who loves to overanalyze cartoon psychology and I do find a good tragical evolution into going from good guy to bastard with bastard hints from the start fascinating and 2) ok sure it's true I don't like her but I don't dislike her for the theories I made up myself of course not lol I dislile her just like I dislile most og racers for having one character trait and being all bland and even I, an anti-SJW, do find her to be a bit too much of 1 sexist stereotype in the og show at least lol and 3) AGAIN I didn't make these theories because I don't like her but ON THE CONTRARY to explore psyche and make her more interesting to my eyes lol

In conclusion : original Penelope Pitstop may be a bitch in sheep's clothing, while reboot Penelope, despite often forcing niceness and and happiness probably pressured by the former, hiding her anger and snapping violently several times, is actually a nice person who means it more sincerely and genuinely

Bone

A lengthy independent comic book series by Jeff Smith that took 13 years to complete, mixing the sensibilities of a joke-of-the-day comic strip like Pogo with the sweeping story of an epic fantasy à la The Lord of the Rings. Jeff self-published the series in its original run, collecting the issues in groups of six or so in nine total volumes, until Image Comics picked it up for a time. A second printing came under Scholastic, Inc., for which Jeff's friend Steve Hamaker colored each and every page. The series eventually won several Eisner Awards and Harvey Awards, and propelled Jeff Smith into immense independent comic book acclaim.

It tells the story of three cousins, who happen to look like humanoid, bone-shaped Cartoon Creatures. They are exiled from their town called Boneville and become lost in a Magical Land called the Valley, where they meet an energetic old lady (Gran'ma Ben) and her beautiful grand-daughter (Thorn). Together, they're caught up in intrigue, magic, and adventure.

Characters

The Bone Cousins 

Fone Bone: The main protagonist. Fone Bone is the most dependable, resourceful and most moral of the Bone cousins, and tends to be viewed as the "good" Bone since he's never involved in any of Phoney's moneymaking schemes. He's polite and friendly, and pretty good at thinking on his feet in a crisis. He has a huge crush on Thorn, but has problems telling her about it. 

Phoncible "Phoney" P. Bone: Previously the "richest Bone in Boneville"; Phoney is a greedy, hotheaded schemer who always has a new plan for making money. The problem with his plans is that they tend to backfire and end with him being chased off by an angry mob. 

Smiley Bone: The most happy-go-lucky of the cousins. Smiley is a friendly and loyal guy, but rather short on brains and not the most adept at telling right from wrong, which is why he so often lets himself get involved in Phoney's schemes. He pretty much adopts Bartleby the Rat Creature cub.

Friends and Allys

Thorn: Thorn was the titular character of the comic's earliest incarnation, and even now can be said to be the real protagonist of the series. She is a young girl on the verge of adulthood, who can talk to animals and who befriends the Bone cousins when they are lost in the valley.

Rose "Gran'ma Ben": Gran'ma Ben has the strength of ten elephants and can outrun any cow in the valley. She has lived peacefully with her granddaughter Thorn on a small farm for fifteen years, after the "big war". 

Lucius Down: The owner of the Barrelhaven Tavern, he's a gruff and temperamental but ultimately kind-hearted old man, whom everyone knows has been "sweet on" Gran'ma Ben for decades. He's a constant foil to Phoney Bone and has ruined more than one of Phoney's moneymaking schemes. 

Ted The Bug: Ted is a tiny little insect with a knack for "gettin' while the gettin's good." Nevertheless, despite his diminutive size he's helpful and surprisingly resourceful, and somehow he always seems to know everything that's going on. 

The Great Red Dragon: The mysterious protector of Thorn and Fone Bone, and a master of last-minute rescues. He's a laid-back and lazy sort who at first glance doesn't seem very formidable, but he has a number of strange powers and is feared by the Rat Creatures. 

Bartleby: A Rat Creature cub that ran off from the other rats and befriended Fone Bone and Smiley. 

The Possums: A family of possums — Miz Possum and her three kids — that Fone Bone meets during his first winter in the valley, and who show up sporadically to help him out.

Roderick: A baby racoon whose parents were eaten by Rat Creatures. Plays a minor part in Bone, but is one of the main characters in Quest for the Spark. 

The Orphans: Roderick's friends; a group of young animals in the same situation as him.

Jonathan Oaks: Lucius's assistant at Barrelhaven. He's a young and affable guy, though not terribly bright. 

The Villagers: The human inhabitants of Barrelhaven village; usually peaceful enough, but in general rather small-minded, xenophobic, and easily led. The most commonly seen are Wendell the tinsmith and Euclid the farmer. 

The Disciples of Venu: Also known as the "Veni-Yan" or, more insultingly, "stick-eaters," they are a group of hooded monks who have dedicated themselves to the study of the Dreaming. They were once the elite warriors of the kingdom of Atheia, but after the war they have the reputation as wandering beggars. 

Taneal: A little girl who lives in Atheia; she's a young priestess and shrine-builder who tries her best to keep the faith of Venu going even after it was outlawed. 

Taneal's brother:  Never actually named in the comic, but he's Taneal's older brother. Smart and resourceful, he knows everyone in Atheia, especially who to bribe in order to get your way.

Teacher: Gran'ma Ben's old teacher; he's an old and somewhat cantankerous old man who runs a small rooftop kitchen and is... not as good a chef as he thinks he is. 

Headmaster: The head of the Diciples of Venu and possibly the oldest human character in the comic. 

Mermie: A seventh-level "dreaming master" and steadfast alley of Gran'ma Ben.

Villains

The Lord of the Locusts: A nightmare spirit who long ago wanted to escape from dreams and experience the waking world, which he attempted by possessing Mim, the Dragon Queen. He was defeated and imprisoned by the other dragons, but is still able to contact and influence dreamers in the waking world, plotting to be free once more.

The Hooded One: A mysterious hooded figure who's the highest servant of the Lord of the Locust. Spends the first two-thirds of the story preparing for war, and looking for "the one who bears the star," who will aid in freeing the Lord of the Locusts. 

Kingdok:  The King of the Rat Creatures; a brutish and vicious monster who nevertheless is basically only a puppet for the Hooded One and the Lord of the Locusts.

Rat Creatures:  Rat Creatures are the resident monsters of the valley; they're strong and bloodthirsty predators but also incredibly stupid. Encountered in ones or twos they're more comical than scary, but in large numbers they're terrifying. There are thousands of Rat Creatures, but two of them — a duo of foot soldiers — play fairly large roles in the story as Ineffectual Sympathetic Villains who in Quest for the Spark end up having a Heel–Face Turn (as well as getting their own names, "Smelly" and "Stinky.")

Roque Ja:  The "Master of the Eastern Border." Roque Ja (and not, as he will constantly remind you, "Rock Jaw") is a gigantic mountain lion who initially sides with the Hooded One and the Rat Creatures because he hates them slightly less than he hates the dragons they oppose.

Lord Tarsil:  A former Veni-Yan warrior and ruler of Atheia. He hates dragons with a passion and has outlawed all "worship" of them, including the old religion.

The Vedu: The sect that Tarsil formed; an off-shoot of the Diciples of Venu who follows different teachings and act more like bullies than protectors.

An Animated Adaptation has been in Development Hell for several years. In the '90s, Nickelodeon Movies, having just released the hit film The Rugrats Movie, had an alarmingly misguided vision of what they wanted it to be, and Jeff was the one who bailed out of the deal. The rights were then held by Warner Bros., and the reports on the production team were that Animal Logic, the studio behind Happy Feet and The Matrix, would animate, P.J. Hogan (My Best Friend's Wedding, Confessions of a Shopaholic, the 2003 live-action Peter Pan) would direct, and it would be adapted for the screen by Patrick Sean Smith (ABC Family's Greek). In 2016, Mark Osborne (Kung Fu Panda, The Little Prince) became the new director, while he and Adam Kline replaced Patrick Sean Smith as the screenwriters.

Jeff was initially fighting for traditional 2D animation, since he used to run his own animation studio called Character Builders that contributed to films like Space Jam, and was the studio that was originally slated to animate the film. According to the interview above, Jeff is fine with the change because the outcome of the movie is not in his control, even though he will have executive-producing credit. He STILL remembers his original preference, though, and fans continue to prove this. However, it was not to be. After several years with little progress made (and no release date appearing on Warner Bros.' slate of upcoming animated movies) the rights to adapt the comic went up for sale again.

In 2019, Netflix secured the rights to the franchise with plans to adapt the comic into an animated series. Time will tell if they are successful.

Birthday Special for Laur (one-shot)

A special little one-shot story for my special sister-friend, @iluvsexyvoltageguys(aka Laur). The story is set in Be My Princess universe (Otome game owned by Voltage Inc). As a disclaimer, I do not own anything...I mean...yeah...I don’t..except for...myself...lol. This is honestly the first time I made a story as a B-day gift for a friend so I hope this story is good enough for her n_n…..I mean I really hope I depicted her properly in this story. If not and she ends up being OOC…..forgive me my friend n_nU...I tried my best >_<. Happy (belated) Birthday Laur, my special, silly friend who I love and want to be possessive towards for laughs ;3.

Laura: “Oh my god! You actually made all this, Kittah!? How were you able to make such a shape!”

Kittah: “Psshh, girl you know I enjoy trying new things with my creations. Plus I wanted to be the first to make you something for your special day. No one, and I mean no one, should beat me in being the first afterall.~”

At present, both of us, for special reasons, are currently residing at Liberty Manse. It was the day before my birthday, February 16th. As usual, my friend, Kittah, always works hard to make various things for me for my birthday. Mainly on the lines of sweets. This year she made lion face cookies. It was a little sloppy but I could tell she put in a lot of effort for me. Though the oddest thing was that she normally gives me my gift first thing in the morning right when I wake up. But knowing her, if I ask she just brushes it off with her amused-cryptic expression. Learning from my time with her, the best thing to do is just to not bother asking. 

Laura: “Can I try one now?” Kittah: “Why ya asking me? Eat when you want. It’s yours.” 

Fair enough. Tasting one,...just oh my gosh! It's soft and not too sweet! She really got this flavor down!

Laura: “Kittah! You are a baking expert!!!” Kittah: “Nah. I ain’t. But seeing ya being all smiley smiley is good enough for me~.” Laura: “Awww! I love ya!! I really love this early birthday gift!”

Kittah: “Heheh. Yes yes I know girl. I know~” I couldn’t help but give her a really big hug. 

During this time, I wasn’t aware of being seen from afar by two people, one of whom had his pair of emerald green eyes stare sharply at the scene. 

------------------------------------------The next day--------------------------------------------

 How did I get myself into this?

I am currently sitting in a helicopter next to Prince Keith. It was dark outside like late evening. Neither Luke nor Kittah was with us. Part of me was confused since Keith hasn’t said anything, but at the same time I had little hope that if this has anything to do with my birthday. 

Thinking about the events from a few hours ago...it was quite something for a morning. 

It was only about 3 hours since I woke up. Of course, as per usual, Kittah wished me Happy Birthday again when I just woke up. And then few of the butlers and maids, as well as Cathy and Luke, wished me happy birthday with a few gifts. Heck, even the princes from the other kingdom, as well as Nobel Michel and Zain, gave me wishes. However, there was one who has yet to do so. I found out that Keith had some important businesses to take care of and would not be back until evening time. It was disheartening but I mean I understand since he’s the prince and all but still...I thought we got close enough for him to wish me early. Well, there’s still hope for the evening. 

Hours went by and I was being kept company by Cathy and Kittah for the majority of the day. We were all in the middle of having evening tea until my phone started ringing, which was off given the time. And when seeing who was calling, I answered immediately. 

Laura: “Hello?” Keith: “Be ready in 15 minutes. Wear something warm. Come to the main gates.” Laura: “Wait wha-?” Beep. Beep. Beep. Typical. I should be used to this already but still. Kittah: “Better hurry and get ready, Laur.” Laura: “Huh?”

Kittah: “You don’t want to keep Brat Boy waiting, now don't ya?”

Cathy: “Hehe, she’s right. Hurry and go get ready!” Both of them knew who was on the phone and gave me amused grins. I swear these two really can read me sometimes. Feeling touched by their thoughtful consideration, I immediately head back to my room to get ready into something warm as he stated. Not too long afterward, I was waiting outside wearing a simple long sleeve white blouse, denim jeans, and a sweater.

But where on earth is he? It’s already been 15 minutes like he said. 

Laura: “Really now. He’s the one who told me to come out here and yet he’s the one late.”

Just as I was about to consider giving him a text, suddenly a burst of wind followed by a loud sound coming from above was heard.

And I couldn’t even believe what I was seeing.

Laura: “What the he-“

???: “Took you long enough! Get up! We don’t have time!”

Well, how unsurprising. It was none other than Keith himself shouting down at me from above...in a helicopter….

Laura: “You gotta be kidding me…”

Ideally, I should be gobsmacked...but somehow I can’t help but be unsurprised by this extravagant entrance as the helicopter slowly descended. Knowing him, he’s gonna get annoyed if I delay any further, so just shrugged it off and got myself in the helicopter with his help.

And now here we are at present times. I still have no clue where he is taking me. He refused to budge and tell me. 

------------------------------------------30 minutes later------------------------------------------

Keith: “We’re here.” And where is here exactly? But of course, I naturally wouldn’t get my answer. Knowing that I was helped down from the helicopter...before I got...blindfolded!? Laura: “W-what the hell!?”

Keith: “Quiet. Just shut up and follow.” Not wasting any time, contrasting to the sound of his voice, he took my hand gently as he was leading me to who knows where. Keith: “We are almost there.” Laura: “Almost whe-” Suddenly I hear the sound of crashing salty-smelling water and crunching sound with each step I take. Are we at a beach..?

Keith: “Stay here. And don’t remove that blindfold until I tell you. Got it?” Placing me somewhere...who knows where...he said that before he walked off without even letting me say anything. Typical. But what the heck is going on?

A few moments later, I hear his footsteps approach me from behind with each crunching footsteps until he stood right behind me. 

Laura: “Hey. Can you please tell me what’s going on-” Keith: “Quiet.”

Immediately after saying that, the blindfold was removed...and at the same time...I heard loud booms in the sky...and it was a sight I didn’t expect. 

Fireworks, one by one and at the same time, rocketing into the sky and bursting into shimmers of colors and shapes...It was breath-taking.

Keith: “And now for the finale…” Laura: “Huh? What do you-..” Keith: “Don’t turn. Look.”

Having both sides of my head motioned back up in the sky...I could not believe what I saw. It was touching enough that I nearly got emotional. 

Afterall….the last sets of fireworks spelled out…             

                                    “HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LAURA”

Laura: “Keith, this is..”

I turned around to be surprised again with a bouquet of roses held right out in front of me. There was so much, it practically covered my view of his face...but I swear I could see a small hint of red on his cheeks. 

Keith: “What are you waiting for?? Just take the damn roses already…...no….I mean...It’s your birthday and all...and well...You...like roses...walking on the beach and that kind of stuff...right?”

Laura: “How did you kno-” Keith: “Who do you think I am!? You think I wouldn’t know!? Just take the roses already.” He shoved the roses to me in my hands before looking away, with his ears red. Keith: “And...Happy Birthday…”

He said that before pulling me into a tight embrace.

I never felt happier than I am now. This is truly a birthday that I will never forget for my entire life.

This giant meatball had a vet appointment today! Oozie has thyroid issues and is on a prescription to regulate. Today was just a blood recheck and med adjustment. Overall doing well and he has lost 10 lbs on his weightloss journey since coming to the sanctuary.
