“Hisoka? Oh hey! I didn't expect you to- Wha? Uh, yeah, I can tell it's a gift. I'm not daft, I know it's my birthday! Okay! I'll open it!”

“Woah! Patches?! And they're the Ohsama King Ogre patches! I've never gotten something like this before! Huh? Well yeah, I love it! Don’t stress about it, I'm gonna have Jack put them on my favorite bag later! Thanks Hisoka!”

“Oh brother, here comes Jack… Nothing! Just… Excited to see you! Again.”

“A present? It better not be… Ugh, really? Cleaning supplies? I've been keeping up with my chores! I don't need... Guh…! W-Well stains are just hard to- Jack? Jack no! Not again!”

“Y-Yeah, wasn’t really sure what to g-get you, so patches? They looked like the Sentai stuff you like, so- You really? You actually like them? And here I thought it was a shit gift. Glad you like it Dai-kun. Y-Yeah, you go ahead and do that. H-Huh? Oh, yeah, no problem o-or uh… You’re welcome. Happy birthday.”

Jack's Lines:

“Happy birthday young master Daiki…Pardon? Ahem. I see… I am glad to see you in good spirits as well, young master.”

“As per your father's request, I have come to bestow a gift. Yes, really. I have noticed your shirts are starting to suffer again, so I bought a new detergent to help deter those pesky stains... Well, I keep reminding you that you should immediately clean your clothing when you arrive home. Now come along, let's review what I showed you last week. Chop chop!”

Finally got the energy to wrap it up! Having a stuffy head despite having no fever really sucks. Anyways, Shuu's birthday is soon! That is, if I can finish his new card on time… (<_<)

But I shouldn't let the attention and gifts get to my head… With it or without it, I will always be thankful that I can protect you all! Jack perked up from his laptop, irritated by the sound of someone scratching and stumbling down the hall. He had expected a peaceful night, with Daiki seemingly choosing to take the night patrol off. But judging from the noise, perhaps the young man was trying to trick the butler by leaving the apartments later.

Opening the door, Jack’s scowl was replaced with a look of… Bafflement. Leaned against the railing or, what looked like leaning? Was Daiki’s head all hidden in his usual mask, goggle, and helmet combo. No torso, just a head. As Daiki muttered some expletives, Jack stumbled forward to help the head(???) of his master stand upright, only to find that his legs seemed to kick out from underneath a transparent cloth. Were those roller skates?

“What have you gotten yourself into? What is this?!”

“You weren’t supposed to see me!”

“Obviously! We are going back inside and you are going to tell me where you got all these… These things!”

Several days had passed since Daiki Kamiyama’s birthday came to a close.

And yet there was just one more package that had been sitting idly at his front doorstep. A strange box that was half his height with several screws and bolts on it.

Just taped on top of it was an open-face letter addressed to him oddly pristine handwriting.

“Heya, kiddo! Nothing like a birthday but a chance to get a little smarter, yeah? It’s a puzzle box, so good luck opening this shit! No, but in all realness, I do miss you and your brothers a ton, I haven’t seen you guys in a hot minute! Wish we could’ve gotten in touch sooner before my little brother died, but let’s get in touch soon!

Oh, and don’t worry! Your actual present is inside the puzzle box! Use your brains a bit, little hero!”

♛ Several Hours Later ♛

After hours of anguish of trying to pry open the puzzle box, Daiki had finally reached success. Torn between being too mentally and physically exhausted and excited to finally see what was inside, he peered in. Inside was a specially hand-crafted and fully functional Kamen Rider Mach Helmet that fit perfectly over his head.

Jack let himself into the Kamiyama heir’s apartment to quite a scene: The mess wasn’t something Jack was too off-put by, in fact, it was the entire reason Jack had barged in. What he didn’t expect to see, is an out of breath Daiki sprawled out on the floor, panting aloud as a helmet was clutched in his hands, completely surrounded by pieces of some sort.

“Master? What is…” Picking up the letter, the butler scans over the writing and sighs. “Ah, Miss. Suzubayashi. That makes sense.”

“I… I beat her puzzle…!” Daiki grunts, basking in his victory.

Looking over the letter again, Jack notices a detail the two of them were unaware of. He opens his mouth to speak, but instead, shakes his head and clears his throat. “I’ll let you rest, young master. Allow me to handle the cleanup.”

Setting the letter down on his bedside table, Jack began to pick up the pieces to the puzzle box bit by bit. Thinking on the letter, Jack was mentally preparing how to best tackle the potential of seeing Reiaki Suzubayashi again... And the potential outcomes of talking about her family. ‘Best to not ruin his happy moment. We can discuss the grim news later…’

There was only a few minutes until the end of a certain "Paladin"'s birthday, said "Superhero" was currently getting ready for his nightly patrol around the city in search of criminal scum. As he snapped on his utility belt, there was a knock from the window that made the poor boy jump and whip his said to see...A GIRL?! There was a girl right outside his window! Wasn't he on the second floor?!

As Daiki gawked at the girl who once again knocked on his window, he spranged into action and scrambled to open the window, letting the mysterious girl inside and the blue haired boy could only drop his jaw at the shimmery dragonfly-like wings on her back.

"Whew! Thanks for that! Sorry I didn't drop by earlier, I had some things to take care of for my big sister! I hope I didn't scare you though!" The raven haired girl beamed and presented Daiki a large rectangular present that he didn't even notice that she was holding.

"My name is Aiko, by the way! Sorry I can't stay long but I hope you like it!" The girl, now dubbed as Aiko placed the gift in Daiki's hands before giving a two finger salute and walking back to the open window, Daiki could only watched as she crawled out and flew away into the night.

Dropping onto his bed in shock, the boy numbly opened the gift to find...

...A shimmery silver cloak.

Raising an eyebrow, Daiki grabbed the cloak and walked over to his mirror where he looked at the cloak before shrugging and wrapping it over himself.

Only to scream in shock to see that his entire body except his head disappeared.

Happy Birthday Daiki! 💙

“A witch has cursed me!” Poor Daiki could only screech as he frantically pulled the cloak off his body and onto the ground. The ground where it seemed to disappear into the hardwood floor in a shimmer.

Bloody hell.

Panicking, Daiki scrambled across his floor to retrieve it and place it back into the large box it had come in. Once everything was handled, he needed to sit at the edge of his bed, in silence, just to try and process what had just happened.

“Who was she? She said Aiko…” Daiki started to ponder, “She seemed nice at least.”

Another pause, before Daiki was jumping up and down, completely geeked out. “She had wings though! Wings! And they were really cool?! How come she has wings?! I want wings!”

All the shouting and stomping once again had appeared to catch Jack’s attention, who was at the very same window Aiko had entered and exited. Albeit, he was staying out of sight as to not draw attention. And the poor man was in a different state compared to Daiki… Sharing the same sentiment of disbelief in seeing a winged girl, only stressed. Very, very stressed.

“Winged little nippers? I… I might have my work cut out for myself.”

The sun had long since set on Obihiro and Daiki Kamiyama was getting ready to do his “second job”. Suddenly, he was brought out of his preparations by a knock at the door. Opening it, he found no one was there until he looked down and spotted something in front of his door. There in front of his feet were several boxes addressed to him. Picking it up, Daiki brought them inside and began to open the first one.

Inside the first gift was a huge multi-layer cake themed after Marvel comic characters. Seeing there was also a card the ‘hero” picked it up and began to read.

Daiki-kun,

Happy Birthday! I hope you’re having fun! Sorry, I couldn't be there in person to wish you a happy birthday! Also, I tried to stop Kaoru I really did but she’s too unhinged for her own good.

Turning his attention to the other gift which was apparently from Kaoru Daiki reached over to open curious as to what could have the hacker sent him that led to Kanra apologizing. 

Inside the second box were two gifts. The first was a blue flash drive which Daiki was not sure what it was for but it was the second gift that had him panicking when he pulled out what appeared to be a gun. Seeing a note Daiki hurriedly picked it up and began to read. 

Daiki,

Happy Birthday, Buddy!!! I got you a few things in honor of that! The flash drive has every Super Sentai episode that was ever released on it plus all the movies! Also, I know you're panicking about the second gift but don't worry it's just a stun gun! It's not even that strong just enough to knock a person out! See ya soon!

Daiki was giddy to get a custom cake from Kanra. He had seen her baking a handful of times when he bothered to visit the Tokyo area. He just never imagined he would be blessed with a cake of his own! (No doubt he was gonna try and survive off of this masterpiece and nothing else for an entire week.)

On the other hand the last part of her note unnerved him. And he was right in his concerns when he unwrapped a gun from the next box. Dropping it to the ground, he jumped up onto his sofa exclaiming, “Kaoru, not again…!”

Yet, after some time carefully watching the gun to make sure it wasn't going to go off in some sort of explosion, he felt safe enough to reach for the note which was nestled in the box. Reading over it, he finally let out a sigh of relief while his legs swung back down to safely rest on the ground once again. “It's just a stun gun…! Jeez, why does she have to scare me like that.”

Despite the reassurance through the note, Daiki tentatively picked up the gun and set it down on his coffee table with shaky hands. Instead, he opted to grab for the blue thumb drive with a little more enthusiasm. Every Super Sentai episode? Kaoru had to be joking! Although there was only one way to find out and it would be through a very dedicated binge marathon. It wasn't anything Daiki hasn't done before either. This would be a test! After all, there is no episode the PALADIN hasn't seen!

Obihiro City, Another new division on the block. Also including a “Veiled” team, A special surprise was bound to happen, Considering a certain superhero “PALADIN” had a wild birthday to celebrate.

Who would be up at this hour anyway…?

In front of Daiki’s apartment, Mai set down a large box on the front steps and rang the doorbell. Hearing an excited voice on the other side, They noticed the blue haired superhero came out with his eyes darting between both Mai and the box.

“Greetings, PALADIN-san~! This probably is a bad time…But I, Yousei Mai from OverDrive decided to present you a birthday gift~.” Mai explained, Gesturing at the box below them.

“Let’s say it’ll…Give you an extra lift!” Mai added, Giving one last smile as they took off, Leaving the superhero to take the box inside…It was surprisingly heavy.

Inside…Were a pair of magnetic roller skates, Cool~

Dropping the box to grasp the roller skates, Daiki was completely starstruck by the gift and the person who had delivered it. The way they introduced themselves and joked about the skates convinced Daiki that he was given some sort of mission. It had to be! Why else would Mai Yousei come all the way out to Obihiro to bestow this gift on him? Besides, how cool is the team name Overdrive?!

“Overdrive… They want to be friends! They're allies!!” Daiki exclaimed excitedly. Scrambling to pick up the box from the ground, the young man slammed the door shut. There was no time to waste now! He needed to try his new gift on and use them to their fullest potential!

...That door slam was loud enough that his neighboring butler cracked his door open. Looking down each end of the hall, Jack could only shake his head and sigh at his master's antics. He won't pry into his shenanigans yet. Rather, he should probably snoop around at the end of the day… When his guard is mostly down.

Will this be an upgrade or downgrade? We'll only be able to tell if Daiki can learn how to skate lololol... Thank you for the gift! ε-(´∀｀; )

Once upon a clear weather amidst the hot and humid summer, finally a super glorious day had just rolled around in Obihiro! And because this day was none other than another anniversary of Daiki Kamiyama’s grand debut into this world, an unstoppable flux of presents submitted over to his home sweet home was obviously to be expected!

Noticing something hanging on his apartment’s door handle, the young lad unexpectedly found a mysterious parcel neatly wrapped in a furoshiki-style.

He did remember Jack once warned him not to receive a gift from strangers but whom does that grown-ass butler think he was lecturing? Today is his birthday and it would be his right to take a look at his own present, would it?! Besides, for those who don’t know; being a little bit nosy was the basic startup of every heroism!

Deciding to snoop a little peek at his new present with curiosity, there he found a set of multicolor MLG sunglasses...

And those were not only just them! There was another gift sending along as well —which is a particular box, and inside this box is full of… What? Fish?

Moreover than that, they were all so colorful… Yeah, now it seemed like he has got himself the rainbow taiyaki…

One more thing left at last inside this beautiful packaging; it was a tiny card written in glittery pink lying there among the gifts, saying;

“Happy Birthday Mr. Paladin☆

Every hero is in need of gorgeous gadgets and no army could march on its empty stomach, therefore here you go~ A full set of rainbow power!

The young man was bouncing with excitement… His first gift! Two of them!! From people he's never actually met?! He was mentally thanking Hisoka for allowing him the opportunity to be in the D.R.B. Never in his life had he been given such nice gifts and words from potential friends. Taking the sunglasses and placing them carefully on his coffee table, Daiki snuck another peek at the colorful taiyaki assorted in a circle, grinning widely. That was until his gray eyes slowly drifted to the small clock on his wall.

“Oh bloody- I'm gonna be late for the morning patrol!” Daiki suddenly exclaims. Stuffing a taiyaki into his mouth, he chokes down the delicious treat as he fastens his mask over the lower half of his face and buckles his helmet under his chin. Underneath his goggles, he teared up at the tastiness of the fish-shaped pastries before he slammed the door behind him. No hero can be late for their duties, not even the great PALADIN!

Thank you for the gift! And for the words to rest. Having to hold back from working when I should rest was hard. (´-_ゝ-`)

It was late into the night in the division of Obihiro and Hisoka Tetsumasu had been sitting in his living room after a long day of work when all of a sudden Hisoka heard the doorbell and there sitting pretty on his doorstep were two gifts addressed to him. Bringing them inside his house, Hisoka grabbed the gift closest to him and began to open it.

The first gift was a large two layer cake with three horses on it. Seeing there wasn't a note in the box, the horse lover turned to the box and began to open it.

The second gift was 2 horse themed knit sweaters that looked pretty comfy. Seeing a note, Hisoka picked it up and began to read.

Hisoka-san,

Happy Birthday! I hope you’re enjoying your birthday! I know we haven't really met, but I got you something! A cake as always from me and some sweaters I made! Enjoy!

Hisoka was completely taken aback. Never in his life had he had a whole cake to himself... It hurt a little to think about, but he was happy nonetheless. The two sweaters, felt more his speed and he was happy to open them up. However, he was suprised to read the letter. After the interview from the months prior, he only heard about Kanra through Daiki... Alongside some shady dialogue from Jack. He didn't think she would go out of her way to send a gift.

"He didn't tell me she knitted... Or that he even talked about me to her." Hisoka's smile turned into a frown. To think he was afraid of her, all because he some similar traits to someone else... He felt guilty for thinking such thoughts about his teammate's close friend.

Taking his battered cellphone out, Hisoka began to go through the motions to send a message to Daiki. Well, he tried, but his finger slipped and a call began instead. Before the Hisoka could manage to press the button to take back his mistake, Daiki instantly picked up the call with a cheery voice.

"Hisoka! Is something wrong? Hey, hey~!"

Cringing at the volume of his voice, Hisoka clears his voice and answers cautiously. "S-Sorry. I didn't mean to call."

"Oh? Okay!"

"W-Wait!" The redhead is quick to stop the naïve boy from instantly hanging up. "I just... Did you mention me to Kanra?"

"Huh? Uh, yeah. Of course."

"...Why?"

"Because you're my friend?" Daiki seemed puzzled, before he suddenly gasps. "Wait, did you get a cake from her yet?!"

"Yeah?" Hisoka replies, puzzled. "Did you ask her to do that for me?"

"Kinda? I just thought you'd like one too! She baked me one for my birthday as my friend? So I thought, maybe you can become friends with her! Since you don't have a lot of friends." The young man then laughs when he hears Hisoka give him an angry grunt in response. "I figured as one of your few friends, I could help you make more! So I asked Kanra to send you something for your birthday!"

Hearing that, Hisoka couldn't find it in himself reply back. All he could muster was a grumbled thank you, followed by a gruff goodbye. Cutting off the unbearably enthusiastic happy birthday from Daiki, Hisoka set his phone aside and got to putting these new presents aside.

"That kid..."
