I do think that vampires should have an aversion to holy objects in fiction, if just because it would be unbelievably funny if vampires hated mummies because of it.

A mummy is a corpse that’s been consecrated and transformed into a holy object through a sacred religious process, and if it’s up and walking around it’s probably because of the divine powers of the real actual gods. To a vampire, a mummy is a man made of plutonium

trick or treat - professor!simon riley x professor!reader

"Trick or treat." Simon holds out two hands to his TA during the lecture, both fists closed as the TA picks one, and Simon unwraps the paper.

"Trick."

The door at the front slams open as you rush in with the nurse outfit on, pyramid head in hand as you pull at the sheet and replace it with the mask, patting Simon's chest twice as you rush off with a wave. The sheet follows after with you as Simon tilts his head up. The robe that wraps around his torso leaves little for imagination as a couple of the students start staring immediately.

"Happy Halloween." He hums. "As mentioned in the syllabus, if you dressed up, drop by to the front after lecture or send me a email of what you're dressed as for extra credit. We'll end class a little early today, but the lesson is relatively simple. We're starting the first part of fear in war." He takes off the helmet. "Let's get started."

After class, a handful of students ask for photos with him, and he notes down the names of those who dressed up, chatting with a handful of students before you head in to start your lecture after his, grinning from under your costume as Simon pinches your waist and pulls you next to him.

"Your students are gonna be oogling."

"Says the one whose biceps are literally bulging." You click through the desktop and connect yours, waving bye to Simon's students as yours start filing in through the front.

"Alright, that's it for today. If you have any questions, email me. If not, then have a lovely hallowEEN—" you yelp as Simon throws you over his shoulder, your stuff packed with one hand as you hit him, telling him to put you down.

Your students absolutely lose it.

How fucking funny would it be if the Justice League all dressed up as each other for Halloween, but then, inevitably, some crisis happens while they’re taking their sidekicks Trick or Treating, so now they have to fight the Big Bad. Except. Except they’re in the wrong costumes.

And no one can know their in the wrong costumes, so you have Barry Allen trying to be sneaky like Batman (which he is inherently terrible at) and Hal Jordan trying to look speedy like the Flash, expect he’s actually a slow fucking runner. (“I jog, guys, okay! I jog!”)

But the funniest part is that Bruce, posing as Green Arrow, is actually pretty decent at archery, and Dick makes a pretty good Speedy. However, this is off put by Clark, who has to spend the whole night awkwardly answering kids questions about his Wonder Woman costume.

Ghosts have always been the sexiest gothic horror monster. I’ve been saying this for years. Every October I see someone resurrect the “Which is sexier vampires or werewolves” debate but it’s ghosts it’s always been ghosts it’s 1000% ghosts. All gothic horror monsters are sexy because they sit on a venn diagram of danger and tragedy and ghosts are all tragedy. They are personified tragedy. They are the persistence of tragedy. They love you but they cannot touch you. They love you but they cannot forget. They love you but they cannot move on.

A vampire wants to eat you and a werewolf wants you to stay away. A ghost loves you so much it hurts.
