Happy 20th anniversary to Seed of Chucky, aka my favourite Child's Play/Chucky film!

(I didn't say it was the best, I just said it was my favourite.)

But honestly kudos to Don Mancini for just going full camp and turning it into a John Waters film, even having Mr Waters make an appearance as the journalist that gets acid'ed. (That's not a word, whatever).

The fourth wall was completely demolished, Jennifer Tilly gave the performance of her life as an exaggerated version of herself and as our Goth Barbie Queen Tiffany who has yet another "fuck this, I'm done with Chucky" arc.

AND on top of all that, Glen/Glenda! Our dear sweet G.G.! And their story was so genuine. Their acceptance of themselves, and Tiff's acceptance of them was just so sweet. For a film in 2004 in a franchise as big as Child's Play, a central focus on gender fluidity was a pretty big deal!

None of these elements make any sense together on paper, and it's still a chaotic mess but you know what? It's a fun mess! It wasn't trying to be a Serious Cinematic Masterpiece but, fuck it, it is a masterpiece in my mind.

So happy 20th anniversary, Seed of Chucky!

A little bit late but 20 years ago on 10th December 2001 Lord of The Rings: Fellowship of the Ring premiered in London. I watched it the moment it went on general release and my Middle Earth love grew tenfold. I adored the film so much that I would go to watch it a further 14 times, the most viewings I have ever done for an initial cinema film release. That personal record still stands to this day.

The film itself is a masterpiece that has gone down in cinematic legend, opening a trilogy that would continue to be a phenomenal success.

I have been very lucky to meet various cast and crew over the years all of which have been really lovely and have shared amazing stories from this film.

Happy 20th Anniversary Fellowship of the Ring 🎂.

Congratulations to all the cast and crew and a big thank you to JRR Tolkien, whom without his incredible stories this film wouldn't have been possible.
