Happiest Season (2020)
Tumblr media
This movie opens with our central couple taking a chaotic tour of Candy Cane Lane. If you don't know what that is, this might not be the blog for you. Anyway, Abby (Kristen Stewart) is not very into Christmas, but her girlfriend Harper (Mackenzie Davis) is, so Harper is trying very hard to get Abby to love Christmas. Abby is just enjoying their evening together when Harper suggests that Abby goes home with her for Christmas. Abby doesn't have any family and has not yet met Harper's family, so it makes sense for them to do this now.
Abby has to find someone to pet sit for her, so she enlists her close friend John (Dan Levy). Abby is excited to be with a family for Christmas and what this means for their relationship, but then Harper tells Abby that she is not out to her parents, so naturally her parents think they're just roommates. Abby is less excited but still on board. More or less. Harper's mom Tipper (Mary Steenburgen) and dad Ted (Victor Garber) are very invested in his campaign to be mayor. Harper's sister Jane (Mary Holland) is chaotic and intense, but the family is mean to her basically constantly. Harper's other sister Sloane (Allison Brie) is preoccupied with her twin children and her specially curated gift basket company that her whole family doesn't take seriously even though she gave up being a lawyer to do it.
Things especially start to unravel when the family goes out to dinner and Tipper surprises Harper by inviting her high school boyfriend Connor (Jake McDorman) to dinner. Harper is mad, but she still doesn't tell her family why. Also at the restaurant is Harper's old "friend" from high school Riley (Aubrey Plaza) who is openly gay and very successful. Riley sees through the roommate charade immediately, and Abby doesn't feel the need to correct her, especially with how much Harper is doing to hide their relationship even though it’s hurting both of them.
This movie is really good. It's funny and heartfelt and the dichotomy of Harper's crazy family making it seem like being an orphan would be better versus Abby missing Christmas with her family and the whole holiday being kind of sad for her really helps you appreciate the good and the bad of your own Christmas traditions, whatever they may be. I expected some things to happen that didn't, and I'm glad they didn't. This was better than what I predicted anyway. Overall, 5 stars.

This was a very good article! I loved hearing Kristen’s (and Jodie Fosters) perspective as a queer trailblazer. Inserting some snippets below 🤍
To get to this point, Stewart’s weathered more than a decade of unrelenting media scrutiny, first about her straight relationships, then about her gay ones, as she figured out her own identity. She leveraged her global stardom from the “Twilight” franchise not to become a superhero or a lifestyle guru, but to fuel an astonishing run of acclaimed independent films, including “Clouds of Sils Maria,” “Still Alice,” “Certain Women,” “Personal Shopper” and the Princess Diana drama “Spencer,” for which she earned an Oscar nomination.
“Whenever I hear that she’s doing something new, I’m so curious to see what it is, because it’s going to be a movie that hasn’t been made before,” says Clea DuVall, who directed Stewart in one of her only Hollywood films during this period, Hulu’s 2020 release “Happiest Season,” the first lesbian Christmas rom-com backed by a major studio. “She really is so herself. And I think that’s why so many people respond to her the way they do — because she is so authentic.”
By the time Stewart stepped on the stage of “Saturday Night Live” in February 2017, she’d spent the previous two years trying to convince the press that it was OK to write about her relationships with women, rather than resort to the vexing practice of referring to her girlfriend as her “gal pal.”
“It wasn’t even like I was hiding,” she says. “I was so openly out with my girlfriend for years at that point. I’m like, ‘I’m a pretty knowable person.’”
But even with that posture, the media’s “gal pal” dog whistle triggered a deeper, more painful history of intrusive curiosity about Stewart’s sexual identity. “For so long, I was like, ‘Why are you trying to skewer me? Why are you trying to ruin my life? I’m a kid, and I don’t really know myself well enough yet,’” she says. “The idea of people going, ‘I knew that you were a little queer kid forever.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, yeah? Well, you should honestly have seen me fuck my first boyfriend.’”
It’s worth dwelling on this point: For almost the entire history of Hollywood, queer actors dreaded the public discovering who they really were, and that fear kept the closet door firmly closed. “Because I was gay, I really retreated,” says DuVall, who came out publicly in 2016. “Even doing a teeny tiny movie like [the ’90s lesbian cult favorite] ‘But I’m a Cheerleader,’ people immediately were like, ‘She’s gay, how can we out her?’ I wanted to stay small.”
Stewart, though, went big, with a monologue on “SNL” about how President Donald Trump, in 2012, obsessively tweeted about her relationship with Pattinson. “Donald, if you didn’t like me then, you’re really probably not going to like me now, because I’m hosting ‘SNL’ — and I’m, like, so gay, dude,” she said to wild cheers from the audience.
“It was cool to frame it in a funny context because it could say everything without having to sit down and do an interview,” Stewart says before running through the kind of questions queer actors have had to consider before coming out publicly: “‘So what platform is that going to be on? And who’s going to make money on that? And who’s going to be the person that broke it?’ I broke it, alone.”
A few days later, I mention Stewart’s “SNL” monologue to Foster over the phone, and she lets out a big laugh. “I never knew that,” she says. “What a wonderful, funny, wry, modern way to be honest to the world. That’s just awesome.”
As Stewart talks about her “SNL” experience, I think about how no stars of her age and stature ever came out when I was growing up as a gay kid in the 1980s and ’90s. So to have her professional trajectory not skip a beat feels like real progress.
When I tell her as much, she takes the conversation in an unexpected direction. “Because I’m an actor, I want people to like me, and I want certain parts,” she says. “I have lots of different experiences that shape who I am that are very, very far from binary. But I did get good at the heteronormative quality. I play that role well. It comes from a somewhat real place — it’s not fake. But it’s fucked up that if I was gayer, it wouldn’t be the case.”
I try to clarify what she means: “So your career maybe would have suffered after coming out had you not affected a performative femininity …”
“… that I know works to my advantage,” she admits, nodding. “That’s why I’m fucking stoked about ‘Love Lies Bleeding.’”
Stewart didn’t let that scandal, as intense as it was in the moment, stifle her. Instead, she grew to fully embrace her queerness in her public life — like bringing her girlfriend, screenwriter Dylan Meyer, to the Oscars in 2022. “It’s not that I wasn’t scared,” Stewart says. “It was just that there was no other way to live.”
She’s even started to recognize that the most ostensibly heterosexual thing she’s done, “Twilight,” has its own queer sparkle. “I can only see it now,” she says. “I don’t think it necessarily started off that way, but I also think that the fact that I was there at all, it was percolating. It’s such a gay movie. I mean, Jesus Christ, Taylor [Lautner] and Rob and me, and it’s so hidden and not OK. I mean, a Mormon woman wrote this book. It’s all about oppression, about wanting what’s going to destroy you. That’s a very Gothic, gay inclination that I love.”
I ask Stewart if she understands how much her decision to come out has also made her a role model for LGBTQ people. She cackles. “Oh, you have no idea,” she says. “Every single woman that I’ve ever met in my whole life who ever kissed a girl in college is like, ‘Yeah, I mean, me too.’ I’m constantly joking with my girlfriend. I’ll be sitting there and be like” — she whispers — “‘She’s gay too. Everyone’s gay.’”
It can be easy to forget just how rare this still is, a giant movie star living such an openly queer life. “It feels like a generational thing, where I’m watching somebody make the leaps that I didn’t think I could ever do,” Foster says.
After fiercely guarding her privacy for decades, Foster came out publicly at the 2013 Golden Globes, and has just now played her first explicitly gay character in the 2023 biopic “Nyad.” Talking about Stewart has put Foster in a reflective mood. As our call is coming to an end, she offers this unprompted insight: “I get a lot of questions about who I was and what I represented in the industry, and was I — I don’t know …” She exhales. “Was I helpful in terms of representation? I’m sure there’s a 12- or 13- or 14-year-old when I was making movies as a young person who said that I had something to offer to them in their life as a queer person. I had to do it my way. I had pioneers to help the way, who I’m grateful for. And now people can be grateful for Kristen for being the pioneer. I’m just — I’m grateful to her.”
This sense of communion with the wider LGBTQ tribe is why Stewart has dedicated herself to embracing the fullness of who she is as a bro-y, butch-y queer woman in her work as an actor and, come hell or high water, a director.
“I was like, ‘I would like to be on that team because we need each other,’” Stewart says. “I didn’t want to be left out anymore. It was this whole world that I didn’t realize I could explore.”

Streaming Services & LGBT+ Women Representation in 2024
Let's do a raking of where we stand and what has been going on in the last few months in streaming...
Grades: A+ highest and F lowest/fail
Max C
Max has been having trouble getting any hits in recent years. Though they are not purposeful about giving us representation they do have some gems. There's no quantity but there's some quality stuff. First and foremost. Harley Quinn the Animated Series. The animated series, now renewed for a fifth season and with a spinoff, has gone where no series has gone before. Yeah, animated series have given us representation before there's been Adventure Time, Shera, The Owl House, Steven Universe and more. However, two popular, important characters that are part of a huge franchise getting together in an animated series geared towards adults? And the representation being romantic and sexy and a healthy relationship? Love that for us and at the same time should be the standard. Max also has The Last of Us which was the biggest hit of last year and is returning next year, the lead Ellie is gay and will have a stable relationship next season. However, there's serious lack of quantity. There's some side characters here and there in shows like Peacemaker and The White Lotus but most shows don't have gay women or if they do they get cancelled or leave or handled badly. The gay lead in The sex lives of college girls is leaving, in Vilma Mindy Kaling made us think she's giving us Vilma and Daphne only to go "just kidding she's in love with her guy best friend after all" and the new Pretty Little Liars show original sin? Has no gay girl in it. Hubris.
Apple TV+ A
Apple TV+. For everyone asking what's the best platform for gay girl content that is consistent and of high quality that is your answer. Apple TV+ is not just the place for Dickinson and For all Mankind. It is consistent in giving us wlw in its shows whether that's The last thing he told me, See or Invasion. It is also giving us leads in its big budget, important projects not some small show they made on a dime and nobody noticed while they were advertising straight romcoms. In The Morning Show one of the leads is queer, in Bad Sisters same and of course our best show you could be watching right now, Monarch legacy of Monsters. It also usually renews its shows for at least 3-4 seasons. So, yeah if ur a gay girl you can get an Amen. On Apple TV+. Yeah there's some good stuff here and there on other platforms, Max has Harley Quinn which is revolutionary and The last of us which is one of the best shows of the year, Amazon's best and most successful show Wheel of Time gave us a queer woman lead, Netflix...used to include us in its important projects back in the day when they weren't the Facebook of streaming? But the important thing is, Apple TV+ has the most quality and quantity in its recent projects we've seen in a while. The effort to cater to us is clearly there.
Amazon Prime Video C+
Amazon Prime tries. We have to give them that. They have greenlit some important shows with good budgets that included gay leads. Some of those were The Wilds, A league of their own, Paper girls, Shelter. Notice a pattern? Yeah, cancelled. To be fair that is not always the case. The Wheel of Time, one of their most important shows has a gay woman lead played by fan favorite Rosamund Pike of I Care a Lot fame. They also gave us a whole reality show about Latin American super couple Calle and Poche. However, their misses are way more than their hits and they never give shows room to breath and grow an audience. You can't trust them to do that. Hopefully, they will at some point give us stories that they can finish but for now their efforts are subpar.
Hulu: B-
Hulu has been ramping up its efforts for representation and it shows. While for a long time aquired content was their gayest content (movies like Happiest Season for example) they have some interesting stuff recently. They made a more inclusive How I Met Your Father, with a lesbian being part of the group and treated well, they of course have our fan favorite Killing Eve, and they made a gay romance movie, Crush, casting two actual bi women to play the leads (Rowan Blanchard and Auli'i Cravalho). They have some shows that have important gay women characters like Class of 09, Only Murders in the Building, Dopesick, Little fires everywhere and even their new big bet Death and other details. Hulu has only started focusing on original content in recent years so we'll have to see how it goes.
Netflix: F
Netflix as been very focused on straight people in their 30s over the past couple of years. Gone are the days when they first started with shows like Orange is the New Black, their flagship show, having a wlw couple as its main couple. GenZ, the gayest generation yet(and this research doesn't include genz under 18 or that number would not be what it is😂), will probably be their downfall so there's that but for now it's an important streaming service that has turned into network TV.
It's a shift we've seen happening gradually but became apparent in the last few years the most as there was not only very limited content for us to watch but queer characters have not been given important stories or romantic relationships. The few bright spots (like Fear Street and I Care a lot) are acquired content that they didn't greenlit themselves, they just happened to buy. On the other hand, they have endless reality shows about straight romance and straight romantic comedies. Big budget, well promoted series always have a straight lead (even if they have to straight wash her from the source material *cough archive 81 cough*). Gay women are the gay friend/side character if they exist at all. In the past few years there were some lead characters in shows with miniscule budgets that were not given any importance like First Kill (which they set up to fail by giving it a bad budget, unknown leads, untested writers etc.) and warrior nun that were swiftly cancelled. Similarly, some small budget foreign shows had some gay women leads like Feria The Darkest Light (which was very good but was not promoted at all), and Everything Now(ditto). There were some side characters here and there most notably the ones in The Fall of the House of Usher and Elite but little else. Sometimes they even make it seem like they'll be giving us a show in which the lead girl has an actual romance storyline with another girl (Chosen) only to out it's not that way and the girl is just one of her love interests, given 2 minutes of screentime and not treated all that well.
Good reenactment of how the Netflix experience has been for queer women in the past few years:
Netflix: straight romcom, straight romcom, straight reality show, straight lead, straight romcom...
Other streamers and networks: increased representation
Netflix: one lesbian side character, straight romcom, straight romcom, straight reality show, straight lead who was a lesbian in the original but was straight washed, straight romcom...
Other providers: Movies are becoming gayer look Scream, Mean Girls even the Purge movies got gay! In Yellowjackets you have a lead lesbian with romance and friends cheering her on, in NCIS Hawaii Our lead couple is two women, in Monarch legacy of monsters the lead is a queer woman and in meaningful relationships with women....
Netflix: In Chosen the lead sleeps with a girl, then sleeps with a guy, then has like two conversations with the girl before the season is done then the show is never heard from again. Also, we've been sitting on the rights of The seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo forever. Plus we took a successful podcast with a lesbian lead and ruined its live action adaptation by making her straight and we're always willing to throw in a gay girl side character XO XO
Paramount+ C-
When you think of Paramount+ and gay women you think of Special ops lioness. And that is a good show to think about. However, outside of that Paramount+ is a mixed bag with not a lot of choices. They don't have a lot of original programming, most of their stuff is CBS stuff. Other than Lioness in the original programming category we got dating show Love ALLways, a fun bisexual dating show. In the CBS shows they have NCIS Hawaii, which is awesome and has a wlw as its most important couple. They also bought Paper dolls which is another hidden gem you should definitely check out. Star Trek: Picard gave us two lead women in a relationship only to break them up. You'll find some side characters here and there like in The good fight. What adds some value is some acquired shows they have that you can also find elsewhere, like Showtime favorite Yellowjackets and MGM+ gem From. Still, definitely not enough for anything more than paying for a couple of months to watch Lioness, From and Yellowjackets.
Peacock C
Peacock has had trouble getting any of their shows to resonate with viewers. Most of their shows are the NBC shows. With their limited selection of original programming though they have shown a willingness to maje a real effort to be inclusive. The Saved by the Bell spinoff, which only run for two seasons(most of their original programming are lucky to get that far), made one of its leads bi and gave her a girlfriend. Bel-Air, one of its few shows to survive, made one of Will's sisters gay. Their miniseries The undeclared war has a gay woman lead. Their NBC shows are the ones that add some more quantity. You can find Law & Order: Organized Crime, one of the leads is gay in that one and any NBC show with a gay character from New Amsterdam to Manifest. What they don't have is some shows that you'll really want to watch and get a subscription for but to be fair, that goes for everyone.
Disney+ D
To be fair Disney+ has started its efforts for diversity and we suspect this grade will change in 2025 but for now it's a D. Right now only some small (but important) steps have been made in the right direction. Big Shot was their first show to include a lesbian kiss on the platform, it has since been cancelled. High School Musical The series took an important step by making an important side character bi and giving her a love interest...in its final season 🙃 Andor is really our big win when it comes to Disney+. A successful, already renewed show that introduces two gay women, who are important characters, and in a relationship, to the Star Wars universe. Marvel show She Hulk also threw us a marvel bone by having a gay girl side character. They also have The Owl House which is not nothing. But we need more than that, way more.

I've been putting together this list of Queer Holiday films for a while now and I'm honestly surprised at the amount I have found. Now I haven't seen most of these, a lot of these have Queer side characters and not main characters (I'll be sure to mention which ones are which). I currently have over 40 Holiday films that feature a Queer character, I'll obviously not be watching all of them this year but I'll watch a good bit of them and post my thoughts about the representation and how much said Queer character is actually shown in the movie and whether or not it should be on this list. Do you have any headcanons on Carmy undergoing top surgery? That euphoria would probably be one of the happiest things he’s ever felt and definitely holds onto that memory and the feelings he felt, in comparison to the stress and anxiety he faces on a daily basis with the restaurant. Carmy just deserves to be happy :’)
OHHHH MY GOHD
okiokikkehshe
i think when he gets top surgery its when hes in new york but like ,,, maybe he hasnt been there *that* long where he loses complete contact w everyone in chicago so he just tells sugar, fak, richie, n mikey [in that order and spanned across multiple days cuz he probably feels a little bad abt 'bothering' them] w like ,,, a text or smthn n then at some point they all head out 2 new york cuz they supported him !!!! they care abt him like . sm its not funny
n i think mikey showed up 2 new york last, n didnt stay 4 that long, maybe on the day carmy was supposed 2 go under 2 talk 4 a bit n then he dipped after carmy went in 4 surgery n went low contact again [praying 2 gohd theres more scenes w mikey n y mikey was so ,,, mikey ig ?? PLEASE give us more home life carmy PLEASEEEEE HULU]
ALSOOO when carmy was explaining how top surgery works in the operating room 2 everyone n he said they have 2 keep the arms spread out [n he demonstrates by spreading his arms out] [i think thats how it works ??? CANNOT find a clear source 4 the life of me] richie says smthn along the lines of carmy getting crucified n its like . the ultimate mood lifter
i think carmy was mildly worried abt how top surgery would go, cuz he was excited !!!! obv !!!!!!!!! cuz hes gonna b flat chested and look like a guy n hed been on testosterone long enough 2 sound remotely like a guy n the new packer he got works WONDERS
but he was just worried abt drains n how hes gonna get money [sugar n uncle jimmy took care of that] [he was a lil apprehensive but gave in after some convincing from richie and fak]
i think carmy considers the day his scars healed n he could finally look at himself properly in the mirror the happiest day of his life. like absolutely NOTHING could compare 2 the rush of euphoria he felt in that dingy full sized mirror the old tenants of his apartment left behind.
obv that didnt change the fact he was severely depressed and he probably could never step back in his childhood home without some hurtful comment from his mother, but he decided that for once? he was happy. truly and irrevocably happy.
ALSO i think carmy liked cooking bcuz chef is like . the most gender neutral term so it felt nice not holding his breath 4 the occasional ma'am from some retail job he worked 2 make money on the side b4 throwing himself fully in2 cooking
hes also never been 2 a pride parade like . ever .
mostly cuz he either a) hadnt come out 2 his mom yet and i think his mom is mildly homophobic or b) was 2 busy w culinary school 2 actually go out n have a good time
at some point when he was back in chicago he decided 2 actually go 2 one w some ppl from the bear [4 catering n also cuz . hes trans . he deserves 2 celebrate] n actually had a fun time !!!! now owns a lil trans button [like the LITTLE little ones, jus 4 subtlety] a flag he got 4 free, a pair of silver studs [jus simple ones, like a flat circle], n a shirt that says eat puss. its organic [richie bought it 4 him n as much as he hates it, its also one of the most comfortable shirts hes worn 2 sleep like . ever]
OKI all the stuff i can come up w rn, enjoyyyy :D [yes i think the new bear season releasing during pride month is significant .]

Shows with poignant endings that are actually satisfying
Since season 3 ended on such a pathetic note, here are shows I think that actually do what Ted Lasso was trying to do with its ending, but in a way that doesn’t rob its audience or gaslight them about what they showed us in literally everything else leading up to it
1. The Newsroom - written by Aaron Sorkin, watch on HBOmax
Tumblr media
2. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story - written by Shonda Rhimes, watch on Netflix
Tumblr media
3. Derry Girls - written by Lisa McGee, watch on Netflix
Tumblr media
4. Fleabag - written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, watch on Prime Video
Tumblr media
5. M*A*S*H - many writers, watch on Hulu
Tumblr media
Notice I didn’t say happy endings, because none of these shows have an ending that’s neatly tied up and everyone’s hunk dory. You don’t need that to have your ending be satisfying and well-written. You can have a gut punch goodbye without destroying everything you built. Feel free to drop more recs in the comments.
spoilers under the cut for explanations
The Newsroom ends with the death of Charlie Skinner, Will McAvoy’s mentor and dear friend. The message of the final episode is about how life will go on without him, but the characters are consistent, and while some things are open-ended (like where Jim and Maggie stand with her moving to DC), we aren’t left feeling empty. They give the viewers some fucking credit here.
Queen Charlotte may seem like a silly historical romance series on the surface, but it has more depth than its parent show, Bridgerton, especially with the end. It shows us that George will never be cured, not even with Charlotte’s love, and she is choosing him anyway. The whole show preaches that those with mental illness will always be that way, and they are still deserving of love and respect. We can meet them where they are. And life will not be easy at George’s side, but Charlotte wants to be there anyway. That is the real power of love.
Derry Girls has what I’d consider the happiest ending out of all these, but the questions at the end leave the audience hopeful but with that seed of doubt. As each of these young women place their vote, and decide how they want to live their lives after the Troubles, it’s moving in a surprising way. It’s the end of their childhood, the end of an era, and yet with that comes this exciting new world. The final shot of Granda Joe and Erin’s little sister walking hand in hand perfectly shows the old life and the new coming together.
Fleabag has probably the most devastating of all endings here, but it’s probably closest to what Ted Lasso wanted to accomplish by showing how one person can come into you life and change it forever, but that doesn’t mean they’re meant to stay. But what makes Fleabag’s ending effective is not only the dialogue, both characters actually voicing their feelings for each other and stating why they can’t be together, but Fleabag finally looks at the camera and shakes her head before walking away. She doesn’t need the audience anymore. And we aren’t left loving her or Hot Priest any less.
M*A*S*H is along the same lines as Fleabag. All these doctors came together because of the war, and they were the epitome of found family while they were all so far away from home. At the end, as they all part ways, they let each other know through words and gestures what the experience meant to them. And there isn’t some weird sequence showing what everyone’s up to now, they let the audience fill in those gaps themselves, so we can’t be disappointed by things missing (Ted at Beard’s wedding *coughcough*).

Watching the new season premiere of Hulu kardashians w the lowest of low expectations and . My mind is completely exploded😭😭😭😭this is SO good can someone PLEASE gif that fucking Kim Kourtney phone call. holy fuck . Im literally rewinding and rewatching
"Actually we have a side chat labeled Not Kourtney where ur friends come to us , the ones u speak to on a daily basis, and we have to funnel everything they're saying about you. Also even your kids have come to me, to talk to me about you, saying that Mom is different" this might actually be the most psychopathic thing Kim has ever said
Kourtney: "You're making this issue all about these bullshit details. It's not about the fucking clothes. It's not about the details or the show or whatever. It's about the fact that you couldn't even be at my wedding and be happy for me. You complained the entire time from the minute you arrived until the minute you left. You are a vile narcissist who cannot stand not being the center of attention. You take, and you take, and you take. I am happiest when I am getting the fuck away from all of you." IM CRYINGGGGGGG

TOWARDS THE SEASON OF JOY, HOW ABOUT A TROWBACK TO REASON
The Hulu hit movie, happiest season came out on the 25th of November 2020,starring 9ne of the most prominent actresses Kristen Stewart and MacKenzie Davis as Abby and Harper. Two lesbians getting engaged while one still lived in the closet due to her conservative parents. What a way to celebrate Christmas isn't?
Overtime this secret consumes Abby as she tries to understand Harper's position and eventually the two end up engaged and live happily ever after, so what's the point of this whole movie? and what's the catch for it's break down?
To lay it on the table, this movie is suitable for everyone to watch as it's a mixture of Romance and comedy at heart not to forget that the movie is LGBTQ friendly although it does express some hurdles of what people go through as part of the LGBTQ society and its pros and cons of coming out especially to a conservative family background.
This movie is the type that will give you a pandemic throwback and will keep you on your toes as you would be rooting for one character to the next although the movie does have a funny supportive character that helps Abby get through the "Secret problem" as Dan Levy acts as John, Abby's close gay friend. He may be dramatic but he adds the comedy and friendliness to the movie
The whole moral of the movie is that, anyone that has your back will support you no matter what and gives you the provided options and help you to understand another person's shoes as you wear them. As long as you love a person what's the reason to hide who you are.
As of now the movie received positive reviews with over millions of views and it was dubbed as one of the most watched films all over the globe.
This gives me a reason to cuddle up and throwback this season 🌈😇

Young people’s LGBT+ experience is diverse: including their approach towards ‘coming out’
When Hulu announced the ‘first studio-produced, LGBT-centric holiday romantic comedy’ Happiest Season, starring the proudly bisexual Kristen Stewart, the loudest reaction seemed to be an exasperated ‘Finally!’. However, once the movie was released, its story arc, focusing on Kirsten Stewart’s on-screen girlfriend (played by Mackenzie Davis) ‘coming out’ to her parents, raised criticisms. Some…
