Request: Luffy alone and musing on how much he hates Sakazuki and wondering why he feels uncomfortable confiding in his crew on this matter.
Thank you for the request and for your patience!! This got a little bit away from me but I hope it's still something to your liking <3
For unnecessary, unneeded, and entirely self-indulgent context, this happens during A Voice of Dreams :)
Character request: Luffy
Luffy didn’t believe in revenge; punching people who deserved right in the face, fighting for freedom, protecting what he loved… that was what he believed.
He didn’t believe in revenge and yet, every time he woke up panting, with the ghost of Ace’s body slumping in his arms, his hands sticky with blood long since washed off, he wanted nothing more than to get back at the people who did it. But what could he do? Who was it who really killed Ace?
Just like Dadan had told Ace years ago… it was this world that killed Sabo, and it was this world that killed Ace as well. How could he fight something so vague like that?
But the guy who put that hole in Ace’s chest…
His hands curled into fists, a quiet growl escaping him. He shouldn’t be thinking like that; he would just put his crew in danger if he turned the Sunny around to go after him. And what would they say if they knew their captain was hung up on something as pointless as revenge? It wasn’t like that would help Ace in any way.
Not anymore.
“Luffy?”
Luffy jumped, turning around to look at Robin behind him with wide eyes. “Oh, Robin… Sorry, I didn’t hear you.”
“Are you okay?” she asked, leaning against the Sunny’s railing next to him.
“Yeah! Why do you ask?” Luffy replied, his voice maybe a little too loud for the silence of the ship’s deck this late at night.
Robin studied his face for a long moment and Luffy almost thought she wouldn’t react at all but then a soft smile spread on her lips just before her fingers came to gently wrap around his wrist. “Let’s go. I was just going to the library, you can listen to me read something.”
Luffy blinked, not sure what he was supposed to do or say. Robin, however, didn’t seem to need him to. With a small chuckle, she turned away, pulling Luffy with her towards the library.
And Luffy didn't fight her; didn’t protest when she pushed him into one of the large pillows on the floor, didn’t protest when she opened a thick, ancient looking book and started reading in a soothing, melodic voice. He didn’t protest when Zoro carefully opened the door at one point, only raising an eyebrow when he saw Luffy—almost as if he had expected someone else there instead—before he tossed two blankets at Luffy’s head, and he certainly didn’t protest when even later, Sanji came in with a tray of coffee, tea and a few sandwiches.
And when he woke up the next morning, more rested than he had felt in two years…
He couldn’t wait to do it all again.

It's still the 5th in my time-zone but happy birthday to the bestest mom! I love you, Robin, I promise that one day, I will write a proper birthday fic for you... any year now...

Another one of these (chapter 651)
Luffy picking up the snail call with Big Mom
ajsfjnd and zoro laughing like this in the background
(which was once again robbed from the anime??! There was only a look on serious zoro in that whole scene...
like cmon.. he's still a dork, let him laugh at Luffy's shenanigans!)
another fun parallel with these two, and a ringing snail communicator:
luffy, chapter 549, answering a snail on a stolen navy ship while on his way to save ace in marineford after wrecking the whole of impel down prison:
zoro, chapter 614, answering a snail on the fishman island, in the ryugu palace, talking to the princes of the kingdom while the king is tied up behind him:

Luffy not wanting to be viewed as a hero is actually so important to me. Because while the first reasoning we get for this is him not wanting to share his food
We also learn later on that Luffy also doesn't want to be viewed as a savior, nor does he ever want to present himself as such. He doesn't want to be placed on a pedestal or (ironically) be deified by the people he helps.
At the end of Fishman island, he was fully ready to leave without fanfare because he did not want to be treated by the people in that way, and only agrees to stay because he is promised food. The same thing happens at the end of Wano, where he refuses to take any credit for the downfall of Kaido and instead simply enjoys the festival with everyone else.
I cannot overstate how much I love this decision for Luffy as a character. It is incredibly common for stories like Fishman Island and Wano to have the main character swoop in and save the oppressed people, with said character being to sole person to rally them and "teach" them how to fight back. We don't get that with Luffy.
In Fishman Island, he tells the people that its up to them to decide whether or not he is their friend or foe instead of swooping in playing the role of the hero. In Wano, he understands to importance of who begins the fight with Kaido, and stands back to let the Red Scabbards (Wano natives) get the first major hit on Kaido
Even in the prison when Luffy gives his speech, he is asking the people to let him help, to have faith that they and their country can be free again, to fight for the freedom that had been cruelly stripped away from them. And even then, it is Momo and members of the Red Scabbards that fully restore the Udon prisoners faith.
Hell, we even see this all the way back in Arlong Park, where Luffy waits to take action until Nami asks him for help. He doesn't come in guns blazing and save her like some sort of white knight, but instead waits for Nami's go ahead, placing the power in her hand.
It's just such a refreshing way of seeing a protagonist in this type of story be portrayed. To have him understand the importance of the people he fight's side by side with, and not place himself as the fixer of all problems, but rather as an aid to these people (often times an aid that they explicitly asked for). It actively rejects the white savior/white knight trope(s) and allows for the people native to the island to have agency in these large battles instead of being sidelined. It is their lives and stories that are centered as being the most important in these moments, and Luffy is simply there to help them.

Reunion Post-Time Skip- Will the Romance Re-Dawn?
Monster Trio (Sanji, Zoro, Luffy) + Bonus- Law x Reader
Author's Note: So I've been listening to “Guilt as Sin?” by T. Swift on repeat and came up with this idea, based around this one lyric:
“What if he’s written “mine” on my upper thigh only in my mind?
The oneshots are not actually what’s in the song, but just an idea from. Let me know your thoughts, suggestions, or other One Piece oneshot ideas I can help bring to life. Comment down below! Thanks!
P.S. Let me know if you want me to actually write out oneshots for the pre-time skip moments instead of just summaries or if we want some NSFW from this scenarios.
Features: Monster Trio- Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and bonus- Law
Summary:
You, a member of the Strawhat crew, had a romantic moment with one of your crewmates while at Sabaody. This was prior to Luffy punching a celestial dragon, the navy invading, Kuma blasting everybody to all parts of the globe, and the two year training time skip. Now, two years later, you’ve reunited with the Strawhats to continue your journey into the New World.
You’ve spent two years replaying the romantic moment you had with your crewmate. None of the other crew members know about it. You’ve daydreamed about what could have been and what could be when you reunite with them. However, you can’t help but think, two years is a long time, and maybe it was nothing, or maybe their feelings have changed. Maybe they will pretend nothing happened when you see them again.
Bonus with Law: You and Law had a moment on the polar tang before he left for Punk Hazard and sent you and the rest of the Heart Pirates to Zou. You have just learned Law has made it to Zou after the events of Dressrosa. You wonder if your captain will pretend nothing happened before he left, or if you will get to resume where you left off.
Warnings: 18+ MDNI, Hints at NSFW, Hints at sexual interactions in past or in future, Accidental ass/panty flash, lap sitting, nosebleeds, pet names
FLUFF, SFW
General Moment Monster Trio:
You and the crew have just left Thriller Bark and are on your way to Fishman Island. Along the way you meet Cami, a mermaid and are reunited with a former enemy Hatchan. After saving these two and being fed by them to fortify your friendship, they instruct you to head to Sabaody Archipelago. Once there, you set out to find Rayleigh, a friend of Hatchan, who will hopefully coat your ship, allowing you passage to Fishman Island and, thus, the New World. Prior to the major events of this arc, you share a kiss or more with one of your favorite members of the monster trio.
Sanji:
Pre-time Skip Moment Summary:
You were helping Sanji prepare a meal in the kitchen. The rest of the crew were repairing the ship or searching for Rayleigh. While reaching for something that was too high on a shelf for you to grab, Sanji grabbed your waist and assisted you in retrieving it. The intimacy of the close proximity led to the two of you kissing. Unfortunately, you were interrupted by a transponder snail call. The call was from Chopper, Brook and Luffy informing you that Cami was kidnapped.
Post-time Skip Reunion:
Sanji arrived at the Sunny to drop off his gear before setting off to the market. Already on board the ship were you, Usop, Franky, and Chopper. You chose to wear a light blue sundress that was low cut in the front and hit just below your ass. The dress cinched just above your waist and accentuated your breasts. This outfit was ideal for showing off how your curves had grown and changed in the two years you had spent away from the crew. It also showed off how strong you had gotten. Sanji had been yelling back and forth discussing something with Franky as he began to walk aboard the ship. Not noticing the voice, but coming to assist Franky, you had exited the kitchen and dropped something you were carrying. As you leaned down to pick it up Sanji stepped aboard the Sunny. Thinking no one was there as you were distracted by the joy of being reunited with your crewmates, you bent down sloppily allowing your dress to rise up. Sanji’s eyes widened as he was awarded the visual of more of your ass than he ever had before and your pink underwear. Sanji’s eyes turned to hearts, his tongue fell out of his mouth, and blood shot out of his nose like a geyser.
“Y/N-Swan!!!” You heard Sanji call as you shot your head around to look at him.
You quickly grabbed the item you had dropped and stood up, readjusting the bottom of your dress as you did. Your face grew a faint pink hue at your cheeks as you stared at the curly eyebrowed man. He took in the full sight of you, cleavage and all, and the blood from his nose jetted out faster, causing him to faint. You and Chopper rushed to his side and tried to rouse him. Franky and Usop stood behind you and looked down at the fainted Sanji, attempting to cover their mouths to hide their laughter. Sanji’s eyes opened gently and looked up at him.
“I just saw a goddess… I can die happy… Y/N-Swan… is that you..? He asked as he tilted his head to look in your direction. “The goddess! Y/N-Swan it’s you!” He muttered as blood shot harder from his nose and his eyes closed again.
“Sanji!” You yelled.
“Sanji! You have to get yourself together! If you keep bleeding like this you’re going to be in big trouble fast!” Chopper begged.
Sanji took a deep breath and blinked his eyes open again. He slowly cocked his head to look at his crewmates individually. He first looked at Chopper, then Franky, Usop, then back at you. You smiled at him causing his breath to catch in his throat. He gritted his teeth and his eyes grew wide as he looked at you. The color slowly faded from his skin and a small drop of blood dribbled from his nose.
“Sanji!” Chopper yelled. “You have to keep it together!”
Sanji finally regained his ability to breathe and took a deep breath. As he did, he raised a hand to caress your cheek.
“Y/N-Swan… my beautiful Y/N-swan… I didn’t think you could get more beautiful, but here you are. I’m sorry for my behavior…” He began to speak as his hand fell from your cheek.
Sanji looked up at the sky above him, then turned and glanced back at you. You grabbed his hand in yours.
“Are you okay, Sanji?” You asked, eyes glistening with worry.
Sanji closed his eyes and returned his gaze to the sky above him.
“I was in Hell for 2 years… All… All that got me through was the thought of you… the thought of you and our kiss. You’re what got me back here today, Y/N, you’re what got me out of hell.” Sanji said, as he moved to sit up on his elbows and look deeper into your eyes.
Your eyes watered as you stared into his gray-blue orbs and pale face. Chopper wiped away the blood from his face as the two of you continued to look at one another.
“Hold on, wait a minute, did you say "kiss”?” Franky interrupted.
“Sanji… I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you since that day. I… was worried you’d want to pretend like it never happened..” You said as you broke eye contact with him.
“So you two kissed? When!? Where were we?” Usop urged.
“Never, Y/N.” Sanji replied, lifting your chin and pulling you into a soft kiss.
“AHHH! What is happening?!” Chopper eyes popped out of his head as he screamed.
Sanji pulled you into his chest and the two of you continued to kiss. Chopper slowly backed up into Franky and Usop’s legs. Chopper and Usop sighed and shook their heads.
“It’s okay little buddy. It’s a super thing, guess these two have been lovebirds the whole time and we didn’t know. Come on. Let’s leave them to it.” Franky said as he picked up Chopper and walked away from you and Sanji kissing.
Usop shrugged his shoulders and followed behind Franky. Once they left, you pulled away from Sanji and whispered in his ear.
“I’ve been thinking about a lot more than just kissing over the past two years… Nami is in town and Robin isn’t back yet… should we take this to my room?”
“Shopping can wait!” Sanji said shakily as blood shot out of his nose again.
You stood up and pulled him to his feet. Once on his feet, you grabbed his wrist and pulled him behind you to your bedroom. His eyes were full of hearts as you dragged him away.
Zoro
Pre-time Skip Moment:
You and the crew were on your way to Sabaody Archipelago after Thriller Bark. At Thriller Bark Zoro got badly injured, due to a run in with Kuma. Chopper had asked if you would help keep an eye on Zoro because he loved to take off his dressings to train. One afternoon on your way to Sabaody Chopper and you hadn’t seen Zoro in awhile and well, that made you both nervous. You went on a hunt for the swordsman and you found him training away in the crows nest. The two of you got into a heated argument and well… one thing led to another and the two of you fucked.
Post-time Skip:
Zoro was the first to arrive at Shakky’s bar. He waited for hours for anyone else to arrive, but eventually, he grew bored of waiting, so he decided to head to the Sunny. As he opened the door, you were reaching for the doorknob to the establishment. You looked up and smiled at him as the door opened. You were wearing a dark green spaghetti strap dress. The dress was cut to highlight your curves and muscles that had grown and changed over the past two years. Zoro gasped as he saw you.
“Hey Zoro! Been awhile, good to see you!” You said as you stepped back to let the swordsman outside of the bar.
“Y/N.” He said plainly, barely making eye contact with you.
As he began to step out of the doorway, you lept at him, wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling him into a hug. His body tensed as yours hit his, his eyes widened, and his teeth clenched. He inhaled deeply taking in your scent, as he exhaled, he wrapped his arms around your waist. A few moments go by as you both rest in one another's arms.
“I missed you.” You mutter. “I missed everyone. Is anyone else here yet?” You added as you pulled away from him and dropped your hands to rest upon his muscular chest.
You lift your head to gaze into his dark eye and gaze upon the scar closing his other. He loosened his grip on your waist and looked down at you, his teeth clenched harder at the intimacy of the moment.
“Damn forward as ever woman.” He said with a smirk as he directed his gaze to your arms on his chest, causing you to chuckle.
“How have you been Zoro? What did you do for these last two years?! What happened to your eye? Where are you going?” You ask as you reach a hand up to touch his cheek.
“Wow. Slow down, woman. It’s just you and me here so far to answer your first question and well, the rest is a long story.” Zoro interjected.
As he spoke you lifted your hand to touch his left cheek, below his eye, where part of his scar rested. As you did so, the door to the restaurant opened and out stepped Rayleigh. Rayleigh’s face formed a large grin when he saw Zoro holding your waist and you reaching for his cheek.
“Well what do we have here..? Rayleigh asked with a laugh.
Zoro jumped back from you and crossed his arms over his chest. His gaze averted to the ground below him, allowing him to not make eye contact with you or Rayleigh. You blushed and turned to Rayleigh with a soft smile.
“Well, you didn’t have to stop on my account… Y/N, you’re looking as lovely as ever. It’s wonderful to see you again.” Rayleigh said.
“Thanks, Rayleigh. It’s nice to see you too! How have you and Shakky been?” You questioned, with a deepening blush.
“We’ve been good. I just came out to make sure Zoro was finding his way to the Sunny. I remembered he had some issues with directions and thought it might be best if I took him myself. You should come with us, Y/N, I’d love to hear what you’ve been up to the past two years.”
“That’d be great!” you say with a nod.
“I would’ve found the way on my own. I got here on my own.” Zoro mumbled to himself.
You, Rayleigh, and Zoro made your way to the Sunny together. Rayleigh shared tales of training Luffy and you talked about what you were up to. Zoro stayed silent for the most part on your journey, but peered at you through stolen side glances along the way. He was not subtle, so you of course caught them. He occasionally smirked at what you and Rayleigh said, but not much in terms of information sharing on his adventures for the past two years.
Back at the Sunny you ran into a few more members of your crew. Franky was inspecting the ship and Nami was stopping by to drop off her things before going to meet Usop. You greeted them both with hugs and began to catch up a bit. Rayleigh took his leave of you all to go make sure other members of your crew weren’t waiting back at the bar. While you caught up with your other crewmates on deck, Zoro had found a place to nap nearby. While you conversed, you occasionally felt a gaze upon your back.
While Nami informed you about new weather phenomena and navigation techniques she had learned, you glanced over at Zoro and briefly made eye contact with him. You shyly grinned in his direction, he shook his head, smirked, then closed his eye again to return to his nap.Nami of course, noticed all of this and rolled her eyes at you.
“Y/N?” Nami angrily urged.
“Oh sorry Nami, I was just thinking about a funny part of my journey getting here. How’d you get back?”
“Sure you were.” She replied. “Well I better go meet Usop. You can tell me all about your trip when I get back.” She said with a wink.
You waved goodbye to her and she headed off the ship, toward the island. When you looked back in Zoro’s direction he was gone. You talk with Franky for a few more minutes, then finally excuse yourself to go unpack. You couldn’t wait to get settled and reunite with the rest of the crew. In the midst of unpacking you suddenly felt a presence behind you. You turned around and sure enough Zoro was standing in your doorway. His arms were crossed and his gaze directed at his arms in front of him.
“Hey.” You said as you refold a shirt and set it on your bed.
“Two years is a pretty long time…” Zoro began.
“Yeah, it is… but being back on the Sunny… it feels like we left only yesterday.”
“I couldn’t agree more, and well I seem to remember us doing an interesting workout before we left….”
Your breath caught in your throat. Zoro’s blank expression formed a cocky smirk as he noticed your body tense up. He stood tall from leaning against the doorway and pulled the door shut behind him. He walked toward you as you turned to face him head on.
“Zoro, I…” You start.
Zoro walked past you and sat down on your bed, still not looking at you. He leaned back on his hands.
“Two years, and I haven’t been able to do a workout as well as that one… Think maybe we could try it again?” He said as he glanced at you, with his one eye to see your reaction.
“Two years is a long time to go without a proper workout… Guess we have a lot to make up for.” You said as you moved to stand in front of him, your lips twisted devilishly as you stared down at him.
He reached up with one hand and grabbed you by the waist. You gasped as he pulled you to sit upon his toned lap. His chapped lips pressed against yours. Fingers danced up and down your torso. Your hands wrapped around his neck and started fingering through his hair. He pulled back from your lips a string of saliva between you. You both chuckled as you stared at one another. He was more muscular than he was two years ago and maybe a bit rougher around the edges. You weren’t sure what he had been through these past two years, but in that moment you realized he was still the same Zoro from two years ago.
“Let’s see what two years of training has done for you…” You begin with a smirk.
Luffy
Pre-time skip Moment:
Luffy had ridden the ferris wheel alone with Cami, your fear of heights prevented you from joining them. After his ride with Cami, Luffy insisted on taking you. Luffy asked Chopper, Pappagu, Hatchan, and Brook if it was okay, and if they would look out for Cami while he was gone, they agreed. You rode the ride alone with him only to freak out at the ride's peak height. Luffy had no idea what to do, so he kissed you. He quickly pulled away apologizing to a stunned you. Once you had realized what had happened, you pressed your lips back against his. The two of you shared a passionate makeout session, but were interrupted by the sound of Chopper yelling about a yummy snack as the ride got close to the ground. Luffy rushed to the window to see what the ruckus was and he got too excited about food, to talk with you about what just happened. When the ride docked, he grabbed your hand and pulled you off the ride towards the food. Then while you and your crewmates were distracted by food, Cami got kidnapped and well the rest of the events of the arc occurred.
Post-Time Skip:
Luffy was the last to arrive at the Sunny, and he was being chased by the navy when he arrived. You watched him from the deck as he ran towards the ship. You couldn’t help but grin at seeing your reckless captain getting himself into trouble again. You stared on in awe as he, Zoro, and Sanji approached the ship. Your thoughts were interrupted by Nami yelling for assistance to prepare for departure. You and the rest of the crew quickly sprung into action to help prepare the Sunny for your ocean descent to Fishman Island.
Zoro and Sanji made it to the Sunny and you greeted them both with quick hugs. Luffy made it on board, but before you got the chance to hug him, cannon fire began to target Sunny. You and some of your crewmates started to panic. Zoro and Sanj prepared to begin deflecting the cannon fire. You looked out at the encroaching ships and noticed another one nearby that was not one of the marines. One of your crewmates mentioned it, because it moved into the path between your ship and the marines, causing the marines' cannon fire to stop. That’s when Luffy informed you all he had spent the past two years on or near the Island of Women with the Pirate Empress, Boa Hancock.
Usop and Sanji took turns trying to see the pirate empress with their binoculars and swooning at the idea of being stranded with her. This information and watching your other crewmates melt at the idea of Luffy’s adventure made your heart ache with jealousy. Yes, you’d been apart from Luffy and knew you hadn’t talked about your kiss, but it had meant something to you. Two years hadn’t changed your feelings, frankly seeing Luffy only rekindled them. Maybe though, two years and losing Ace had changed things for him. More gun and cannon fire awoke you from your thoughts and you helped the crew protect the Sunny. Thankfully Luffy’s friend, Boa Hancock, helped you all escape.
As you descend into the depths of the ocean, you and the crew caught up a bit. You learned more about Luffy’s adventures. You wandered towards the Sunny's figurehead. The rest of the crew chatted on the main deck or went to finish unpacking their things for the next leg of the journey. You stared into the abyss that was the ocean in front of you and thought of your dreams, and of Luffy. Your thoughts were shortly interrupted by a familiar voice.
“Y/N.” Luffy said with a large grin.
You felt his stretched arms wrap around you and pull you across the top deck into his embrace. You softly laughed at the familiarity as you turned to look into his eyes, his arms returning to normal at your waist. You wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him into a tight embrace. After a few seconds, you dropped your hands to his chest, gazing upon his new scar before returning your gaze to his onyx orbs.
“Luffy… Luffy I’m so sorry about Ace. I’m so sorry I wasn’t there.” You sais as your eyes started to glisten with tears.
Luffy pulled you back into his chest. Your smile widened at his action causing you to let out a chuckle, as a few tears dripped down your face.
“You shouldn’t be comforting me! I should be comforting you.” You added, pulling back from the hug again. “I know how important he was to you.”
“Thanks, Y/N. The past two years haven’t been easy.” Luffy said, as he still held onto your waist, but directed his gaze into the ocean. “I’m sorry I selfishly took them. A friend of mine reminded me, I still had a reason to pursue my dream… this crew… So I took two years to get stronger to make sure that could never happen again… because, Y/N… Y/N if I lost you…” Luffy looked down at his hands and he gripped your waist tighter. “My dream couldn’t come true, because my dream isn’t my dream without you by my side.” He said as he looked back up to meet your stare.
“I’m not going anywhere.” You replied as a soft smile grew upon your pink lips.
“Good. Then I’ve been waiting two years to do something.” He said, a devious smile forming across his face.
Luffy pulled your waist against his with one hand and placed the other on your cheek. He gently pulled your lips to his. His lips were warm and soft against yours. Once the initial shock wore off, you kissed him back, settling your arms around his neck to pull him deeper into you. Your lips parted slowly allowing his tongue to slip inside. Your impassioned kiss on the top deck of the ship lasted a few minutes only to be interrupted by Nami.
“Hey lovebirds! There’s something following us!” Nami yelled.
You looked past Luffy’s shoulder and noticed a ship quickly approaching the Sunny. Luffy stretched his neck to look behind him, a big toothy grin forming on his face as he looked out. He laughed.
“I can handle anything the New World throws at us, as long as you and the rest of this crew stay by my side. It’s good to be back.” Luffy said as he grabbed your hand and pulled you towards the rear deck.
Law
Moment before Dressrosa:
Law had just announced to you, and the rest of the Heart pirates, that he wanted you to take the Polar Tang to Zou, while he dealt with an important mission elsewhere. He left out a lot of details, but he informed you that the next day you’d be dropping him off at Punk Hazard then continue on to Zou without him. The entire crew gasped at the announcement and grew upset. Law in classic Law fashion, reminded them it was an order and as members of his crew they had to do as he instructed. The crew agreed, but reminded him they weren't happy about it. You, being especially close with your captain, as the only nurse on his crew, went to his quarters that night to demand more of an explanation. However, many of your crewmates, mainly Bepo, had the same idea. You didn’t get a chance to confront Law until the next day. You caught Law in his quarters and he allowed you to come in to talk to him. The two of you got into a heated argument about his plans, which ended with a passionate kiss initiated by him. Unfortunately, your kiss was interrupted by the Bepo knocking on the door to inform Law you’d arrived at Punk Hazard. Law stepped away from you, apologized, and exited the ship. You chased after him yelling, but you were ignored and Law exited the ship. Once on the deck, he used his room ability to teleport himself to the island. You, Penguin, Shachi, and Bepo all cried as you watched Law walk off.
Reunited at Zou:
You had gotten word via News Coo of the events at Dressrosa and were proud of your captain for his actions. He was alive and that was the most important thing. However, it had been months since he had left you and the rest of the Heart Pirates to go off on his own. You were still missing a lot of information on why he left. He didn’t explain why he had to go, where he had to go, or why he had kissed you before he left. Had he only explained that kiss, maybe you wouldn’t have been so mad. When news reached you from the Minks of the arrival of some intruders and to be on guard, you knew it was him. Your heart warmed at the thought of being reunited with your captain. Butterflies danced in your stomach and your thoughts soared into hopes of getting an explanation for that kiss. You finished tying the string around your neck of the tightfitting yellow dress one of the minks had given to you and walked outside at the sound of cheers.
Bepo, Shachi, and Penguin found him first, no surprise. You allowed the rest of the crew to swarm him when he made it to the Guardians layer. You watched from afar as your crewmates hugged Law, his body tensing with every touch. You smiled and giggled as they began asking him a million questions about the Strawhats and Dressrosa.
“That’s enough. Meet me inside and I’ll answer all of your questions. I’ll put my stuff down then meet you in the main room.” He said shortly as he tossed his sword back over his shoulder.
“So glad to have you back, Captain!” Bepo called as he headed into the Guardian’s layer.
“Yeah, Captain. Can’t wait to tell you about what we’ve been up to.” Penguin said.
“Glad you’re okay, Captain.” Shachi added.
You walked inside with Jean Bart, both of you guessing at what could be the next adventure for you and your crew. The crew had planned a surprise celebration for Law’s return once you’d received news about the events at Dressrosa. The early warning of intruders on Zou, that the minks had received that morning provided you and the crew ample time to cook and decorate. You had been the mastermind of course, and you knew Law would pretend to hate it, but he’d actually appreciate it. Besides, it had been so long since you had seen him, you had started to wonder if he would come back at all. Planning this event gave you and your crewmates a glimmer of hope. Before you could go check on the final details, you noticed a blue circle form around you. Suddenly, you were in a hallway standing in front of Law.
“C-C-Captain.” You stuttered, surprised to suddenly be looking in the face of the man who crossed your mind every second of every day for the past year, since you had joined his crew.
“I didn’t see you when I first arrived.” He said flatly as he stared at you blankly.
“Yeah, well, I hung back, I thought I could catch you later. Everyone was so excited to have you back. I….” You replied, rubbing the back of your head as the butterflies in your stomach frenzied.
“You weren’t?”
He glanced down at the space between you and placed his hand in his pocket. You took a step closer to him.
“Law… I” You started, tears beginning to form in your eyes. “I just needed a minute to know that it was real… That you were real.”
He looked up at you, breath catching in his chest as he saw the tears forming in your eyes. You took a deep breath.
“I’m so happy to see you, but I’m pissed at you.” You said as you shoved his shoulder. “How could you leave like that? We saw the alliance in the papers and… I.”
“I said I’d come back.” He replied, his eyes darting to meet yours, then to study the ground before him.
You sighed and turned your head. He looked exhausted. Taking down Doflamingo couldn’t have been easy, you had just wished he had let you be there to help.
“I haven’t been on this crew long, Captain… but Law, I like to think I know you a little bit… and you didn’t mean it.” You voiced with furrowed brows.
You stared at him longingly, heart sinking as the silence grew around you in the empty hallway. You wiped a tear from your cheek and swallowed hard, stepping away from him.
“I’m glad you’re okay, Captain.” You said with a sigh. Now, the crew has planned a celebration for your return, try to be nice”. You replied as you wiped your cheeks and began to walk away from him.
A hand caught your wrist causing you to gasp. The hand whirled you around and moved to your chin, where suddenly, soft chapped lips were against yours. Your chest tightened and heart soared as his other hand moved to rest upon your waist. You blinked your eyes a few times, letting them soften closed as you tilted your head into his kiss. The rise and fall of your chest accelerated as you parted your lips open and began pressing back against his. Your hands wrapped around his neck and pulled him deeper into your embrace. A few minutes passed before the two of you broke apart gasping for air. A string of saliva still connected your lips.
He dropped his hands to your waist and watched the rise and fall of your chest. You stared at his lips, desperately wanting them back against yours, but you knew you had to return to your crew. Law’s teeth clenched and he tightened his grip on your waist.
“I just needed you safe. It was my mission. I was willing to die for it, but I wasn’t willing to take you down with me.” He spoke between pants.
“Captain, don’t I get to decide who and what I live or die for?” You responded as you rested your forehead against Law’s.
“I thought… I told you to call me Law in private.” He said with a smirk.
“Don’t think that…one kiss gets you off the hook. You better behave yourself at this celebration and tell us everything.” You raised your eyebrows at him sternly as you spoke.
“I thought I was the one who gave the orders around here.” He replied as his hands began roaming your waist and torso.
“You’ve been gone a long time and someone had to take charge. Maybe I don’t want to give it up?” You replied with a laugh. “Well behave and after the celebration, I’ll let you order me around back in your quarters. You are the only person I take orders from.”
You deviously smirked at Law and walked down the hallway.
“Y/N, nice dress by the way. Suits you… But I think it will look better on my floor.”
“As you wish, Captain.” You replied, turning around to salute him as you did.

Chapter 5 - Greedy
Plans to dock at Sabaody are made, and Kid shows his true colours.
WC: 3.6k
Masterlist | AO3 | Chapter 1
“You sure about this?” Killer asked, sitting at the round table in the navigation room, along with Heat, the two of them supervising you as you sat at a writing desk in the corner, scribing your list of what was to occur at Sabaody to prove your story. “It's not too late to tell the truth. Maybe Kid will go easy on you, chain you in the brig for a little longer for everyone to fuck before we sell you off.”
“This is the truth,” you huffed, struggling with the style of pen you'd been given, a feather tipped fountain pen like you'd often see in the anime. It was certainly a learning curve to use, leaving messy black ink stains over the page where you'd pressed too hard. “You'll see, once this day happens. I don't know if it'll be the first day we're docked though, it wasn't clear how long the Kid Pirates had been at Sabaody before the Straw Hats arrived, but I'm gonna guess it wasn't long.”
“Kid is eager to figure out how to get to the next island and get moving promptly,” Killer noted, “you wouldn't know anything about that, would you?”
“Oh, I actually do!” You replied enthusiastically, happy to have a way to prove yourself useful while you waited for the Straw Hats to arrive.
“You know how to get us to the next island?” Killer raised a brow under his mask.
“Yeah,” you replied confidently, “I do.” Killer and Heat exchanged knowing looks before Heat stood.
“I'll get Kid and Wire,” he explained, leaving Killer to babysit you while you mumbled your curses at the fountain pen, groaning as you realised you'd stained the clothes you were borrowing.
It wasn't long before you heard the telltale stomps of the captain cutting through the infirmary on the other side of the wall, before the door slammed open and the man himself entered, huffing in annoyance as he sat at the table. “Heat said the mouse has info, spit it out, I'm busy,” Kid growled.
“One second captain,” you hurried to write the last few points on your page before giving a relieved sigh, “kay, done! Who am I giving this to?”
“I'll take it,” Kid grumbled, holding out his hand for the page. You gave the ink a careful touch to check it was dry before folding it carefully, standing to cross the room and placing it in Kid's hand. He slid it into his belt for safekeeping, with the intention of putting it in his safe later. Unless you suddenly had the ability to manipulate metal, you wouldn't be able to get the note back to change it. “Sit, mouse. Intel, now.”
“Right, of course,” you mumbled, moving to sit in a empty chair before Kid made a tsk and pointed at his lap. You took the hint, sitting on his thick thigh and wriggling a little to get comfortable before his arms stabilised you. He didn't seem to be interested in fucking you right now, it more seemed like he just wanted you as an accessory, or perhaps to remind you of your place here. “How much do you all know about the next location? I'm guessing your log pose is pointing down, correct?”
Wire, who acted as navigator, gave Kid a questioning look, asking for permission, before Kid gave him an affirmative nod. “Yeah, it's pointing down,” Wire supplied, “towards the Redline, in line with Mariejois. Once we realised it was pointing down we set out for Sabaody instead, since it seems to be the closest island to what the pose wants, but I haven't figured out the next island yet.”
“The next island is Fishman Island,” you explained, “located ten thousand metres under sea level. If you can't get legal permission to pass over the Redline through Mariejois, which would require ditching the ship anyway, then you have to go under. There's a gap in the Redline near Fishman Island, that'll allow you to pass through to the New World.”
“News alert, mouse, this ain't no submarine,” Kid growled, pinching your waist and making you yelp.
“I know!” You defended with a pout, “you didn't let me finish!”
“I can assure you I always let pretty girls finish,” Kid purred, making you squeak as he suddenly licked a long stripe up your neck, tugging on your earlobe with his teeth. You smacked the arm wrapped around you, scolding him with a growl that made him laugh.
“You tryna fuck or do you want to hear what I have to say, captain?” You huffed.
“Alright, alright,” Kid conceded, “intel first, then maybe I'll fuck ya, get one last go with that tight cunt before your story falls apart on Sabaody.”
“It won't fall apart,” you mumbled, “anyway, the Victoria can make it down there, but you need to have her coated in resin. You'll see when we get close enough that Sabaody has giant bubbles coming from the ground. It isn't actually an island, it's an archipelago of giant mangroves that produce a special resin. The whole place is covered in it, but it can be used for all sorts of things. One of which is coating ships to protect the ship and crew so you can travel underwater. It's not an easy journey even with the resin, only thirty percent of ships make it through to the New World, but your crew will make it. It is expensive though, the resin coating process.”
“So how do we go about getting this resin?” Killer asked.
“You gotta find someone who specialises in coating ships, if they do it wrong the ship could be crushed under the water pressure,” you explained, “I know where you can find a good coater, but I believe you'll need to wait till after the events of my letter take place or it may come as an inconvenience. I won't spoil things too much, but you're gonna want to retain the ability to get off shore quickly until the events of my letter have passed. If you're not ready to leave when the events happen, or the ship is only half coated, then it'd be a waste of your money.”
“And how fuckin’ long is that gonna be,” Kid grumbled.
“Until the Straw Hats arrive,” you sighed, knowing he was going to hate that answer. As expected he made an annoyed tsk behind you, grumbling quiet grievances. “In the meantime, how much do you know about Sabaody?” The question was mostly directed at Wire, since you wanted to ensure the crew docked in the right place.
“Not much,” Wire admitted, “tourist destination, lawless areas, some sort of amusement park, a marine base.”
You went on to explain the way that the archipelago was split up by numbered groves, explaining what you could remember of what groves held what things. It was a good thing you had an exceptional visual memory, thinking hard about the numbered map that was shown in the anime, and the few times places had been shown with grove numbers. Most importantly you told them where the lawless areas were, so they could make plans on where to make port.
“You should avoid docking at grove twenty-seven, if possible,” you finished, “a marine admiral will be causing issues there, so perhaps it'd be best to see if there's any other docks in that area. The Straw Hats will be docking at grove fourty-one, if you want to send a lookout so you know when they're here. Be aware though, there is a group running around impersonating the Straw Hats. Actually, fun fact, one day the same group will impersonate your crew.”
“Ha!” Kid barked, “Like anyone could look as impressive as me!”
“You're not wrong,” you laughed, “they do a fucking awful job. They don't even give Killer a real mask, just a shitty hat and stripes painted on their face. It's awful. Don't even get me started on the monstrosity that was their impression of Wire.”
“I'm guessing then that this fake Straw Hat will be easy to recognize?” Wire asked.
“Just tell your lookout not to mistake him for a fat man having a midlife crisis and they'll be good,” you offered, “the real luffy is practically a child.”
“A child that took down two Warlords…” Heat mumbled.
“Hey, I didn't say he was a weak child,” you replied, “he's not at his full strength yet though, doesn't even know what haki is. Speaking of which, is there anyone here who can teach me to control mine?”
“Aye, Kil can teach you,” Kid replied, to which Killer groaned and rolled his eyes under his mask.
“Why do I have to be the one to teach her?” Killer complained. “Does she even need to know how to use it?”
“If her story proves to be true, she's more useful if she can fight,” Wire replied, “and I for one am not going to be babysitting her every battle so she doesn't get her ass served to her.”
“We'll see whether she's full of shit first though,” Kid added, “she's probably lying so she can get some dick, so you don't have to worry about it.”
“Can you all stop talking about me like I'm not here!” You shouted, “and I'm not full of shit! I may be a fangirl but that doesn't mean I'm here for just dick, I genuinely want to help this crew. You're all gonna have to be way nicer to me after all this if you want me to give you information on your future cos right now you're all acting like dickheads, maybe Trafalgar would prefer me on his crew.”
“Like Trafalgar could make you cum like we do,” Kid growled, grabbing you by the cunt and making you squeak. “Why don't ya take your clothes off and I'll remind you why you're a Kid Pirates girlie?”
“I politely decline getting fucked against a table again,” you huffed, “my tailbone still fucking hurts.”
“I'll fuck ya wherever I like, mouse,” Kid hissed.
“Then you'll be fucking your hand, you brute,” you spat, wiggling your way out of his lap, “take me to your bed or don't take me at all, I'm fragile, you ass.”
“So the mouse has a voice,” Kid laughed, “alright then, just this once little mouse, I'll give ya what ya want.”
You squeaked in surprise as Kid charged at you, grabbing you and flinging you over his shoulder. Your face was buried in his feathery coat as he smacked your ass, all of the commanders in the room openly laughing at you. “The mouse sure does like to squeak,” Wire laughed.
“I'll have her screaming in no time,” Kid smiled, “Wire, go ahead and navigate the ship to Sabaody, dock wherever the fuck it was she said to. When do you think we'll arrive?”
“Weather permitting, should make land tomorrow around noon,” Wire replied, “the others have their restock lists all ready to go.”
“Good, I have a mouse to play with then,” Kid barked, opening the door that went straight to the deck, “any trouble, tell Killer first, I'm fuckin’ busy.”
With that Kid left the room, yanking down your pants and borrowed underwear and exposing your ass to anyone who might be on the deck. You expected snickers from the crew but instead received only amused, hungry glances, or eyerolls directed at the captain. It seemed Kid debauching women in plain sight was a common occurrence here, and you wondered how long it'd be until one of the commanders fucked you on deck in full sight of everyone. The thought made your pussy clench more than you thought it would. Kid shamelessly pushed his thumb between your folds as he walked, sliding it inside you for a moment to collect your slick before using it as lubrication to rub your clit.
“Kid!” You protested, trying to squirm, but he was far stronger than you.
“Don't act like you don't like it, mouse,” he laughed, pushing two fingers inside you and making obscene squelching sounds for all to hear, “you're fucking soaked, you like seeing everyone watch you get finger fucked huh? Bet you'd love it if I tied you to the mast and let everyone have a go.” Your pussy betrayed your thoughts as you tightened around him, biting your lip to hold back a moan as you made eye contact with one of the crew, Reck you remembered his name was, and he gave you a shit eating grin that told you he wouldn't be against that idea. “Fuck, you really tightened when I said that. Be a good girl on Sabaody and maybe we'll make it happen, aye?”
“Yes please captain,” you moaned as he slid in a third finger and continued finger fucking you as he walked. The idea of being strapped to the mast and used was making you drip an embarrassing amount. You didn't think you were into exhibitionism but the last few days had certainly awoken something in you. You were sure it was Wire's shit eating grin while Kid fucked you that had done it, that one look had somehow irreversibly altered your braincells and now all you wanted was to be used and humiliated by the Kid Pirates.
“You like pussy too, mouse?” Kid asked as he made his way up the stairs, “we got a few girls here who like pussy, maybe you could show them a good time too.”
“I do, captain,” you admitted, whining as he removed his fingers to open the door to the stern castle. Your mind was spinning, which ladies aboard would take a turn with you? Oh you so hoped Quincy and Hop were interested.
“Aye, calm down mouse,” Kid laughed, giving your ass a spank, “so fuckin’ needy, I'll have ya filled up in a minute.”
Kid hurried up the last set of stairs to his room, stomping across the expanse of the dining section and throwing you on his bed. Your body bounced a few times against the mattress as he started to remove his clothes, and you quickly followed suit, your pants already gone somewhere on the deck, your used underwear now stolen by another crewmate to be used for their own pleasure later. Kid was careful to put your letter somewhere safe until you were out of the room for him to put it in his safe properly. He loomed over you as he shuffled onto the bed, pushing you onto your back. An accidental giggle escaped you in anticipation as Kid's thick cock brushed against your stomach.
“Something funny, mouse?” Kid barked, closing his hand around your neck, pushing you flush against the bed.
“N-no captain,” you moaned, Kid's other hand finding your entrance again and sliding three fingers in with ease, “fuck, sorry captain, just, excited for you to fill me.”
“Always so eager,” Kid chuffed, “I hope your story turns out to be true, such an obedient little thing, we could have so much fun with you.”
“You will, captain,” you whined as he pulled out his fingers and pushed the fat head of his cock against your entrance, “I'll be so good for you captain. You'll see.”
You both groaned as his cock slid inside you, stretching your hole wide. He filled you so well, you were ashamed to admit how much you'd missed his cock since he'd fucked you in front of the others. It felt just as good as you'd anticipated, perhaps even more so now that your tailbone wasn't being ground into a hard tabletop.
“Greedy little mouse,” Kid grunted as he thrust into you, “you prove you're not full of shit and we'll make you our permanent whore, Heat's certainly been in a better mood since you appeared. We'll keep your cunt good and full, and I'm sure my girls would enjoy riding that pretty face of yours. You like that huh? Fuck your pussy got so tight, you want my girls riding that pretty face? Squirtin’ on it? Greedy, greedy little mouse.”
“W-which girls,” you whined, you were getting hot on the idea of being squirted on but needed to know who if that thought was going to get you there.
“That keen are ya? I'm here pounding your cunt and you're thinkin’ bout pussy,” Kid laughed, giving you a particularly hard thrust that knocked the air out of you, “Quincy, Hip and Hop, sometimes Emma but she's a lil shy. You like that huh? Want my girl Quincy cumming on your face? She's a real screamer too.”
As though on cue the thought of having the tall ginger grinding on your face had you seeing stars, gushing on Kid's cock with a breathy moan. “Yer showing your true colours now, mouse,” Kid laughed, pulling his cock out and admiring the mess you'd made on his blankets, “flip over and I'll show you mine, ey?”
You eagerly rolled onto your front and shuffled to be in front of him, and he quickly resheathed himself, before grabbing at your tits and using them as grapple points to pull your torso towards him. You were essentially in his lap as he held your hips and used yours like a cocksleeve, forcing you up and down on his cock. His fangs brushed against your neck, his cock throbbing inside you as he imagined how sweet your blood would be. Pure humans, the rarity that they were, were always so very sweet. Only a faerie was better, in his opinion, though faerie blood also came along with intoxication.
Kid nipped at you neck, testing the waters, but the way you moaned and squeezed around him with each pinch of pain spurred him on further. Finally his fangs broke through your soft flesh, zeroing in on the thick vein in your neck where he could feel your pulse pounding. Your breath stopped as you felt the sharp bite and your body began to register it as an attack, before something began to warm your veins and make you feel giddy. Your body shuddered as his venom ran through you and made you pliable, his cock still pistoning in and out of you as he drank from you. He'd been holding back from feeding from you, not knowing what you were made your blood dangerous. If you had been a witch or a siren your blood would have been poison to him, but he couldn't hold himself back any longer, he was feeling too greedy, and as the sweet taste that was uniquely human flooded his tongue he knew he was right to take the risk.
He wouldn't last long like this, but then again neither would you. Your blood being human only further confirmed your claims, and if you truly weren't lying to him then he couldn't afford to accidentally drain you, you would be far more useful alive. Not to mention how wonderful it would be to have a willing feeder human aboard his ship, every vampire aimed to acquire such a familiar in their home, and with your willingness to serve his cock too you would be quite the treasure. His venom had done its job and you were now more than out of it, off in your own little world as he used your body for his own pleasure. You came, more than once, but you didn't even register it, too busy seeing stars and giggling between moans. You didn't understand why you felt high, but you were too dazed to think about it. You were too dazed to even realise he was drinking from you, another purposeful effect of the venom. You vaguely registered Kid's praises, the slide of his tongue over your neck as he closed the bite wound, the dribble of warm blood down your front before Kid swiped it with his finger and licked the digit clean.
At some point Kid finished, roaring as he unloaded inside you before leaving your twitching form laying on his bed. He wiped his bloodied mouth with the back of his hand as he watched you claw at the blankets, still shivering from aftershocks from your orgasms and his venom. “Look at you, mouse,” Kid laughed, “you're a fucking mess.”
Your head was dizzy, you thought from whatever you'd been drugged with but in reality it was from the lack of blood in your body. You should have been mad that you'd been drugged, but you felt so euphoric that you knew already you'd ask for whatever it was again in future. Your whole body felt sensitive, every little brush of the blankets against your skin made you feel like you were about to cum again, and Kid running a finger up your bare backside wasn't making it any better. He took advantage of your sensitivity, pushing your ass up so he could bury his face between your thighs. He'd barely even touched his tongue to your clit before you were gushing on it, making Kid moan as he drank from you there too. He was already imagining how sweet you'd be on your cycle, he hoped you'd be around long enough to find out. None of the other women on board menstruated, they weren't any of the species that had that sort of cycle, which was a real damn shame.
“Yer sweet down here too, Mouse,” he ran his tongue through your folds one more time before you went limp against the bedding, “sweet little mouse, such a good girl for me.”
All you could give him was a tired “mmm,” before you were lulled to sleep, still laying sideways across Kid's bed, naked, Kid's seed leaking from your cunt and your head spinning from his venom.

Demonic Catch (Jinbe x f!teen!reader)
A/N HI OMG HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN GUYS , listen writers block got me bad, I thank God for @hannahbarberra162 😭 helped me with this fiv and pulled me out of this block (hopefully) she is an amazing writer and her pieces brought me inspiration so go check her out. Right now 🔪
Reader here is replaced by Dokucha which stands for reader in japanese
Dividers by @/drinkthesky and @/fireflygraphics
“Man, that last island had nothing to eat,” the girl muttered, looking through her latest gains as she leisurely flew along.
“They did have pretty things, at least,” she grinned, pulling out jewelry from the bag.
“Hmm?” the teen paused, her sights set on a traveling vessel below her.
“This one looks like it could have a lot of things, But I’m already tired from the last raid,” she huffed out.
“I could use some food…” she mulled out, thinking over her options. However, this was halted as she felt something wrap around her body and Suddenly, the decision to board the ship was made for her, and the last thing to reach her ears was a feminine but shrill scream.
“You idiot, that’s not a bird!”
-
“Ugh, My head is fucking killing me; what the hell happened” Dokucha muttered, lifting herself up from what appeared to be a small hospital bed.
“Ah! You’re awake! How are you feeling?” A squeaky voice piped in
Dokucha glanced at the owner of the voice, blinking owlishly at the small creature.
“A mink?”
“I’m a reindeer!”
“Oh...er, my head feels like a boulder smashed it; what happened, and who the hell are you?” she dazedly answered.
“I’m Chopper! I’m a doctor! Our captain thought you were a bird and tried reeling you in, and it caused you to crash against our ship.”
His words sank in and pulled her out of her previous stupor as she jumped off the bed, pulling off the IV that the Doctor had put in her.
“Ah, You shouldn’t move yet! You had a head injury, so you should be on bed rest!” he exclaimed immediately.
She ignored his pleas as she tumbled her way outside the infirmary into what appeared to be the ship’s dining room. Two men came into her field of view, mirroring her surprised expression.
The blond one was the first one to react to her sudden entrance.
“Little Miss, I think you should listen to the Doc; you shouldn’t be running around in that state,” he called warily, approaching the girl.
“Tch,” she sidestepped the men and made a quick dash out of the dining room, covering her eyes at the sudden introduction of light as she made her way into the ship’s deck and all its sights. However, she did not have time to take it in as the voices of the men she left behind called after her, prompting her to keep running, which took her into her current situation.
It turned out that past the green deck of the ship was the men’s quarters, and below it the ship’s storage room. She took to hiding in a corner, pulling her legs close to her chest as she tried to make herself as small as she could and take in her current situation.
“How the hell am I going to get out of here... My wing got injured in the crash, so flying is out of the question. I can try swimming, but I don’t know how far I am from the coast. My only option is finding their lifeboat.” she muttered, taking a look at her bandaged wings, anger and fear filling her.
“Those bastards probably patched me up so I could be kept as a hostage,” she growled.
“I won’t let them,” she stated, determined as she stood up slowly, taking hold of an axe from the array of weapons stored in the room.
“I would be careful with that,” A deep voice rumbled behind her as she scrambled into a corner, once again holding the axe in front of her.
“Don’t come any closer, you asshole!”
The Fishman hummed, a frown on his face as he took in her words.
Eventually, he sighed, and much to the teen’s surprise, he plopped himself down, crossing his arms and closing his eyes as he sat in front of her.
“W-What are you doing?” she gasped out.
“I am simply sitting down.”
She stared at him incredulously, not lowering the weapon in her arms.
“You are Dokucha, are you not?”
“How do you know that?”
“I have seen your wanted posters.”
“So I was right. You just want me alive so you can cash me in.” She sneered
“No. Neither me nor my crew have any wish to do that.”
“As if I would believe that, why else would you help me?”
“I can understand your weariness of us after being hunted down for so long but you have my word that we have no ulterior motive for tending to your wounds, Chopper is a Doctor at heart and would never leave someone injured If he could help it.”
She stared at him a while longer, slowly lowering the axe but not releasing the tight grip on it
The two sat there for a while, no words being exchanged between the two as the tension on the young girl slowly ebbed away
“Will you allow my friend to treat your injuries?” he spoke up after a while, and to your surprise, you agreed.
Here’s to hoping this is the end of the writer’s block

Eri Reader x Straw Hats 18
-You’re not sure how much time had passed, but you woke up to a massive crash and lots of screaming, jolting you wide awake. Your little heart was pounding in your chest as you gasped, quickly sitting up, finding yourself alone in the infirmary on Grandpa Whitebeard’s ship.
-You scrambled over to a window, hearing loud shouting, like fighting and you pulled yourself up onto a chair, looking out to see that you were in an unknown place, ships all around you, and everything seemed to be trapped in ice.
-You had no idea how much time had passed, and you went to move before you heard, “ACE!!” you turned back, eyes wide, seeing Luffy running in and tears quickly came to your eyes, “Luffy!!”
-He couldn’t hear you and you quickly scrambled off the chair and ran for the door, it was really tall for you, but you were able to reach, after pushing the chair over to it, hanging on the handle and ran out.
-You found yourself in a massive hallway, and you looked down either side, unsure of which way to go before you swallowed, remembering that you needed to help save Ace! You turned to the left and took off running.
-You came to a huge set of stairs, leading up to a massive door and you quickly started up them, you slipped once, hurting your knee but you clenched your teeth, not wanting to give in and kept going, doing your best to ignore the pain.
-Once at the door, there were no chairs, and you couldn’t reach the handle. You could hear the fighting on the other side, and you heard Luffy shouting out Ace’s name.
-Your little fists pounded on the door, with hopes someone would come and open the door for you, crying out, “Luffy! Grandpa!! Anyone?! Please let me out!! I need to save Ace!!”
-Your little voice and the pounding on the door did little against the sound of a massive war happening outside, nobody could hear you.
-You looked down at your hands, which hurt, turning red from the pain before you balled them into fists, remembering what you had done on Thriller Bark, rewinding the door.
-You began to pound again, your horn flaring to life, slowly at first, begging your powers to do the same to the door, to rewind it- you just wanted it to back enough so you could at least get outside.
-With each explosion, each gunshot and each scream you grew more desperate, getting more and more scared. A roar of cheers startled you, making you pull back, your fists now bleeding slightly, the stinging pain making it hard for your pounding to be as loud.
-Your eyes narrowed, hearing loud shouting as the aura of your horn covered your head before surrounding your body, “LET! ME! OUT!!” and with one last beat to the door, your quirk finally activated and the door was quick to give way, crumbling as it turned into slats of wood.
-You tumbled out, landing hard on your stomach with a sharp cry before you looked up, finding yourself alone on the ship, smoke rising from the battlefield before you.
-Loud shouts filled your ears and you ran for the figurehead, that looked like a giant whale as you heard someone shout, “Get Luffy’s little brother out of here!” you saw a large blue man, a fishman, holding Luffy, who was bleeding heavily, running away from the battle.
-Your eyes went wide, seeing that Whitebeard was standing over Ace’s body, a gaping hole in Ace’s chest- he was dead.
-You couldn’t breathe, your tears welled in your eyes easily blinding you felt the pounding of your heart growing louder and louder, nearing a panic attack as Whitebeard told everyone to fall back.
-You then saw another man and his crew, the man from the pirate island, Blackbeard, attacking Whitebeard while everyone else was trying to escape, he was putting himself at risk to let his brats all escape. He took his last breaths, but remained standing, dying a true man.
-Your piercing scream instantly had everyone attention, “GRANDPA!!!” everyone froze as the aura that came from your horn, making it grow to more than a foot long, seemed to explode out from you, surrounding Whitebeard and Ace, blowing Blackbeard, his crew, and the marines nearby back head over heels.
-Marco’s eyes were wide as he quickly changed into his half phoenix form, trying to get to you, sensing that this was dangerous.
-Everyone saw what you were doing, seeing the wounds on both Whitebeard and Ace healing, almost like you were rewinding time and eyes went huge, on all those who didn’t know your ability, seeing that you brought both of them back as they both jolted awake, gasping heavily.
-You were so angry, hot tears flowing down your face, seeing them both now awake and instantly you heard marines and Blackbeard shout out orders to get to you, to grab you, as your ability had now been broadcasted worldwide, now the whole world knew why you had such a high bounty and why everyone was after you.
-Aikinu was quick to rush towards you, wanting to get to you- as you would be useful, but Coby stepped in front of him, blocking his path, “She’s just a little girl! You can’t treat her like a tool!” the admiral was fully ready to kill Coby to get to you.
-You saw a flash of red and you saw a new man, Shanks, who protected Coby, knocking Aikinu back, “There has been enough death here today- and I agree with this lad- Y/N is just a little girl. I won’t let her become a tool used by the government.”
-With Shanks’ interference, the Whitebeard army was able to escape, leaving without any other casualties, and soon they were all back to sea.
-Ace had rushed to you, seeing that your horn was still enlarge and your aura was still covering you, as you had sent yourself into an adrenaline rush.
-However, as he called out your name, you flinched hard, turning towards him, the aura fading as you saw both him and Whitebeard there, banged up like the others but alive.
-You were quick to break, a harsh sob that hurt your throat escaping you as you leapt into his arms, “Big brother!!” Ace sat on his rear, hugging you close as your horn started to shrink, returning to normal as you calmed down.
-Your vision slowly started to go black as you whimpered softly, “Don’t feel good…” and quickly everyone panicked as you fainted, slumping in Ace’s arms before your aura returned around your body. It did nothing other than surround your whole body, as if it was coating you, protecting you.
-By the time they reached Amazon Lily, meeting up with Luffy, Rayleigh, Jinbei, and Law, Marco and the other doctors had been able to figure out that you were basically in a coma, something your ability had put you in.
-It was speculated that due to that massive display of power, overusing your power so soon after bringing Thatch back to life, then bringing both Whitebeard and Ace, as well as blowing the others back, that your body was now extremely weak, and to protect you so you could heal, your powers put you in a deep coma, but Marco was able to tell there was no risk of you dying, it was more like you were fast asleep.
-Luffy, who had been distraught, thinking Ace was still dead, feeling so useless- letting his brother die, was stunned when Ace appeared behind him while Rayleigh and Jinbei were trying to help calm him down.
-Luffy was just like you, sobbing so hard that he hurt his throat, almost making himself sick as he clutched his brother close, relief flooding his body.
-Luffy was concerned when he was allowed to see you, along with Law, who confirmed what Marco had discovered about you- getting a second opinion, Grandpa Rayleigh, Jinbei, and Hancock, who had heard about you from Luffy, as he had shown so much determination to get back to you as well as save Ace, showing her how attentive he was, and how he could be with their future children!!
-Luffy was scared for you, hearing that you were in a coma, but everyone’s concern quickly grew after the papers came out, your abilities being announced publicly and your bounty going up again, this time to 1 billion beris.
-Everyone had quickly started arguing what to do to keep you safe, with Luffy being the only quiet one for once. Luffy knew that he wasn’t strong enough to protect you right at the moment, the battle with Kuma then the battle at the Marineford was proof of that- he needed to get stronger, and Rayleigh was willing to train him.
-Luffy then looked at Ace who started at seeing such a determined look on his face, “Ace, will you and that old man keep her safe?” eyes went wide, looking at Luffy, as he went on to explain he needed to train, he needed to become stronger, and he knew that Ace would keep you safe, him and Whitebeard.
-Ace inhaled deeply before he turned to Whitebeard and went down on his knees, his head going to the floor, bowing deeply, “Forgive me Old Man, but I want to leave the crew! I’m going to join Luffy’s crew so I can protect Y/N!”
-Ace’s declaration was also very shocking, especially to the other members of Whitebeard’s crew, except for Whitebeard, who looked proud, “You can do as you wish, just know that you will always be a part of my crew, Ace.”
-Ace was quickly in tears, bowing deeply to Whitebeard, thanking him loudly.
-The plan was laid out that Ace would take you and he was going to go lay low somewhere, to protect you while you were in your coma, as everyone knew that you were with Whitebeard, so if you weren’t there, you wouldn’t be put in any danger, something Luffy agreed on.
-Luffy laid siege to the Holy City, ringing the bell and sending the message out to the rest of his crew, allowing them all two years to train, to become stronger, and told Ace to meet them back in Sabaody Archipelago in two years’ time.
-When Ace took you, only Ace himself, Whitebeard, Shanks, Hancock, Luffy, and Rayleigh knew where you were, safe with Ace, who would check in from time to time, to give status updates on you, and he took off on his wave surfer, holding you safe in his arms.
-To throw them off Ace’s trail, Whitebeard, Hancock, and Shanks, who were both willing to help Luffy and you, spread out, spreading rumors that they each had you, or that you were on one of the other ships, to confuse the marines so nobody would know where you were, at least for a while until the heat died down.
-Shanks only wanted to know when you woke up, to know that you were okay and that you were safe, something Whitebeard was willing to promise him, and Hancock agreed to inform both Rayleigh and Luffy, who were using her island to train, when any updates came in about you.
-Ace spent the next two years traveling all around the Grand Line, sending in false tips to the marines that you had been sighted, to clear certain areas out of the marines.
-You were in a coma for the two years that everyone was training, you didn’t change, not even aging, almost like you had been in suspended animation in your coma, due to your powers, but Ace never left your side, talking to you about his past, telling you stories, telling you how Luffy was training hard, and how everyone missed you.
-As he made it back to the archipelago first, following Rayleigh’s instructions on where Sunny was hidden, coated and ready for when the others arrived, he couldn’t help but smile, setting you on your bed, “Everyone will back soon Y/N- soon the Straw Hats will be back together, just like they should be.”
-Ace could have sworn you smiled softly up at him, like you had heard his words, before he covered you up and collapsed beside you, taking a nap as well.

ok im anon about nami. firstly, im actually really sorry for spoiling you. i did not know about how you only read them while streaming them and i only saw streaming posts about anime episodes. it was not my intention, im sorry!! secondly, i understand everyone's arguments about similar instances pre-timeskips, nami opening up more and who wouldn't be scared of bugs, etc. i didnt mean to make it sound rude esp about sakura, it was just an emotional response bc i love nami sm. yes girls can be silly but its just one of those "vibes/feelings" grievances that when put to words doesnt make sense. yes nami previously ran away scared just like now but its just the way she does it now since timeskip feels so weird? like it felt almost comically stereotypical the way her face was and her being on the floor like that? i cant explain it well, yes nami would cry and run but the way she would is so different. "waah save me" doesnt feel like nami even an opened up one. and its not about a woman not being able to be scared, im not asking her to solo giant bugs. this is just one instance, ive felt weird about her post-timeskip, she feels more hollow. i want more genius navigation nami, in general, than "weak person of the group that always needs help" nami which is why i loved that scene in fishman island of her being complimented. i think this is more of a agree to disagree cause i cant shake the feeling. anyways sorry to everyone again!
sorry anon I didn't mean to be rude I was just frustrated since I quite publicly read the officials when they come out (livestreams and such) but yes I'd say it's an agree to disagree situation.
As someone who read through/watched all of One Piece in the span of 3 months (with no nostalgia for the original ig) I didn't notice a decline in Nami's character at all - all it feels like is she's just gotten more comfortable with the Strawhats. I seem to be one of the rare few who likes her ts version more than her pre-ts version and it's because, as I've said, she feels happier and more comfortable with her crew WHILE still navigating the seas AND being the witch that she is - as we saw with her laughtale discovery and her navigation at the beginning of Egghead.
I think it's a shame to think a character developing into a warmer person through the love they're receiving means they've become lesser of a character, while I'm not saying you do that anon, this exact same thing happens to Robin in the ts as well. Design aside (and yes I totally understand that issue) Robin's ts character is a lot softer and a lot sweeter because she's HAPPIER! Watching/reading One Piece from start to finish all in one go is how you can truly feel the joy in these character's hearts becoming something more imo
#ask#melonask#and as i said before she woke up in a random place with huge bugs#I think she's in her right to be stumbling around shit scared like she's done many times before ie little garden

ONE PIECE CHAPTER 1113 SPOILERS!!!
It's tagged, it's in bold, if you didn't see it that's on you, but I'm sorry. (I'm also a little sick so sorry for how this starts to turn a little insane at the end.)
The reveal makes perfect sense. I've seen a few people struggle to figure out where it came from, so I'm gonna explain why it makes perfect sense and then pop off with some silly theory.
The first hint at the fact that the One Piece world is sinking exists all the way back in Long Ring Long Island.
That seems like an odd place to start, but it's the first time we're shown how drastic the tides of the ocean in the One Piece world can change. It's enough to separate entire parts of an island, causing it to appear as separate islands, once every year.
This implies that the tides change drastically over the course of much longer periods than it does in the real world.
After that, we get to Water Seven and discover that it's sinking, and that the Aqua Laguna is getting worse every year. We also know that it's caused by the water receding at Long Ring Long island. We're also outright told that they want to make the city float to stop the sinking problem.
We also, much later, see just how high Wano is in altitude.
Knowing that the Redline is so tall that it cannot be passed by any ship, cannot be broken through, and that Mariejois is sat right on top of it only adds to why it makes sense.
The world isn't "sinking," those some islands technically are(Water Seven, modeled after Venice), the tides are going to rise exponentially, and fast.
The force of the water would instantly drown most people, and those who survived would be those who could get to higher altitude islands, the sky islands, Fishman Island, or the Redline.
And because I know someone will try to point this out: land bound plant life can temporarily survive underwater, so Ohara's 5000 year old library tree would be fine for a a bit while submerged. There's lots of places with high tides who's plant life is just fine. (This also could explain why they'd be so willing to throw the books into the water. Not only was it to save them from the fire, but many of them had likely been submerged for long periods of time before. They knew the books would be find in the end because they had record of it. And well, it's mentioned in the chapter that Vegapunk means to finish what Ohara started.)
This would also explain how thorough the government was able to be with wiping out information from the void century. If only a few places can survive, then few things that tell the truth will survive, and even fewer people.
Do I think I'm 100% correct about any of this? Or course not, it's Oda. It's One Piece. Things are pretty much never predicted with 100% accuracy. But that's my thoughts on why it makes sense. Now we get into theory:
I have several points to make, so I'm going to write out the shortest ones first.
-This would, completely unironically, explain some of the centuries long racism campaign against fishman. They have no reason to fear the high tides. They will survive no matter what happens on the surface, and that scares the humans who cannot.
-I think that the extreme tide is a part of why the bridge is being built in Tequila Wolf. I believe the bridges purposes is to connect all the highest points of the world so there's no need for ships to carry them. This way, the Celestial Dragons will still have access to more slaves, produce, and anything they can't get within Mariejois on their own during the time period when everyone drowns.
-and now we get to the big one:
I think that the reason the 20 kings and their people destroyed the ancient kingdom is because the ancient kingdom had a way to survive the high tide while keeping the maximum number of people safe in the process, and while being able to save many more people. They refused to ask for help, and were instead afraid of the power the ancient kingdom held, so they sought to destroy it.
I think that the ancient "weapons" were instead a means of survival, and the reason they were hidden is because the 20 kings would have used them as weapons instead. We don't know much about the ancient kingdom, so much of this is speculation.
I think Pluton was a large enough ship that it could carry the entire kingdom. We've already seen some massive ships in One Piece, and Iceburg intends to turn the entirety of Water Seven into a ship, so the idea of an island sized ship isn't all that odd.
If you continue to think about it, why did none of the Beast Pirates manage to find Pluton while searching for the poneglyph in Wano? I have two theories for this based on the fact that we're told Wano would have to open it's borders in order to get Pluton. If the walls would need to be torn down, then we can continue to assume that Pluton is massive.
Theory one is that Pluton is is hidden within the mountain itself, and that the mountain was man-made to hide the ship. Not only would the walls need to come down, but the mountain itself would have to be destroyed. They would also need a way to survive the high tide without it, so creating a mountain that is high enough in altitude to keep them safe would have been a necessity. I think this is the more believable of the two theories.
Theory Two is that Pluton is Wano. The entire island is the ship, and many of Wano's people descended from the people of the ancient kingdom or those they rescued. This one is much less likely, but it's still a possibility in my mind.
We know that Poseidon was the former mermaid princess, and that the current one is Shirahoshi. She can control the sea kings. Why would this be important? Because if everywhere floods, then the sea kings, who are already very large creatures, suddenly have an influx of room to move, food to eat, and places to lay eggs. It would cause a population spike. *However,* that would cause an ecological disaster within the food chain. The sudden influx of sea kings would be desperate for any food they can get their hands on, and many would likely die of starvation. This means they need some way to repel them from the large ship.
We don't know anything about Uranus yet, so I've nothing for you.
Another thing we know about the ancient kingdom is that they seemed to be friendly with everyone, or at least it's implied via how many friends Joy Boy made.
Fishman: Along with the bonus of having Poseidon, the fishman also have access to the tree resin from Sabaody. Should the ship(Puton) or the ancient kingdom ever need to submerge in order to keep people safe or to have a temporary air bubble, They'd be safe.
Lunarians: The people who originally lived on top of the redline. Sinee the redline is high enough to not sink, it would have made sense for them to be trade partners.
Skypians and Shandians: Another race with wings. if the tides really got too high, then they could join them in the sky sea for a time. They could also trade with them.
Minks: Zunesha was a friend of Joyboy's. We don't know much else about that situation, but it's likely that Zunesha is plenty tall enough to keep the minks from drowning, and they could have traded often as well. Maybe Zunesha was even able to do something similar to the giants.
The Giants: This feels like the most important one to me, and not just because of recent chapters. Obviously the giants think very highly of Nika/Joyboy, but it's also very likely that Elbaf is tall enough to survive the high tide, and if not, the the giants themselves are. If you look at what's known about current giants, some of them are tall enough to walk along the sea floor, and the ancient giants were so large that it's said they pulled and moved continents.
Why is that bit important? Because a ship the size of an entire island would likely need a lot more than sails buoyancy to move quickly. The ancient kingdom was pulled by the giants. They moved to different areas to rescue people and to trade so that life continued while the tide was at it's highest point.
Another random thing that supports this is the giant's vehement hatred towards Charlotte Linlin. She has Totto Land, which is supposed to be a place where all races live in harmony, but it would be a mockery of what the ancient kingdom was like, and for giants, who live about 300 years, that's only a few generations back. They would still have stories about the ancient kingdom and remember the truth.
Again, I don't think anything I predict will ever be 100% accurate, but I hope you enjoyed my rambling nonetheless.

listen what i'm saying is, I know the perv trope thing with Sanji is annoying and overplayed. i know it is. i know that some of it is Oda's humor and some of it is like. shit that anime always seems to find one character to shunt onto, and I don't like it and nobody likes it but like
pretending that's the only character trait that he has, or refusing to connect the dots through what appears to both be some vestige of the Vinsmoke programming (since ALL of his brothers have the exact same kind of nosebleed awooga behavior despite their lack of other meaningful human emotions), and a strict adherence to anything Zeff taught him (bc children do not process trauma and traumatic events the way adults do, and at that point Zeff was not only his first and ONLY example of paternal love, but the only hand capable of reaching in and stopping the knife he'd been twisting in his own guts), isn't just stupid, it's a deeply shallow and backwards take of an incredibly complex character.
yes, Sanji is flawed. they're all flawed. that's half the point of the story, that people are more than the sum of their parts, or the circumstances of their birth, or their pain.
Sanji's journey in this story so far is one of broken shackles, of healing, of finding comfort in himself and trust in his found family despite how deep the roots of self-loathing and fear run in him. in that way, of course he took Zeff's perspective to heart. Zeff who cut a piece of himself off and chose Sanji's life over his own well-being again and again, when Sanji's birth father abandoned him to torment and death. Zeff, who thought he was wonderful, and kind, and intelligent, and nurtured his potential, and taught him how to make sure nobody could ever hurt him again, when his birth father discarded him as damaged goods. Zeff, who is proud, in his own way, to know what his son is up to, and for people to know that's his boy, when his birth father's only direct words to him were to make sure to never bring him the shame of letting anyone know they were related.
(and that's the wild part, one of the things that really breaks me about Sanji sometimes, is that he kept that promise, too. If WCI hadn't happened he might never have told anyone at all.)
Zeff saved Sanji in every way a hurt little boy could possibly be saved, and so when he said "You never hit a woman, that's wisdom from when the dinosaurs walked the earth." and "Beat any man's ass you want, but if I ever catch you raising a hand to a woman I'll cut your dick off and then myself too for teaching you that." like???
He's not being a misogynist, he doesn't refuse to fight women because he thinks they're weak and frail and the fairer sex that needs to be protected at all costs by big strong men, he respects Nami and Robin and Vivi and refuses to give up on his friends and even forgives Viola despite her almost killing him and agrees to help her, like?? he internalized everything Zeff ever told him, not just how to make risotto really well or how to pair wine to cheeses and desserts.
does Oda sometimes play that up for laughs, or run it to extremes? yeah, absolutely. I actively like to pretend Fishman Island was 10 episodes of political backstory and Jinbei. But those moments of hyperbole aren't the fucking point of his character, or his development, and to pretend like they are removes Sanji--and an incredibly poignant story about abuse, recovery, self-love, and the acceptance and importance of found family--from the story.
#av speaks#OP#Sanji#that's it that's my dissertation#you don't have to like him#there are a jillion characters in one piece nobody is gonna like everyone#but some of the things I see people write about Sanji are insane#feels like people consume this story with their ass sometimes

Okay, I want to discuss Jimbei & Luffy for a minute because their dynamic feels weirdly under-analyzed by the audience?? Even though there is so much going on there??
Like, first off, it is a relationship that is very much rooted in a sense of shared belief, loss, & trauma. They are both members of outcasted social classes with very strong senses of justice, as well very deep-rooted ideals regarding freedom which are in many ways rooted in their experiences of marginalization. They are both very deeply connected to Ace- a character who is being penalized for a trait of his existence which he has no control over-, and would do anything in their power to save him. This is then re-contextualized for the audience when we learn that they met during what would amount to the prelude of Ace’s death. They’re both able to witness the other’s sense of care, conviction, & obligation throughout the war at Marineford, and they share the loss of Ace in a very specific sense due to being the characters who were directly present for the other as it happened, a fact which influences their understanding of each other into the Post-War saga & throughout post-time skip OP.
The sense of loss they processed & the trauma it caused them in the aftermath of Marineford is depicted as something they were only able to understand their ability to survive past through the presence of the other. We know nearly for a fact that Luffy would have died had Jimbei not been with him. And we as the audience can infer that Jimbei would have struggled far more intensely to regain himself (albeit likely not to the same extent as Luffy) in the immediate aftermath of Marineford without having Luffy to put his faith in- and to use as a means to, roughly paraphrasing Whitebeard, carry on Ace’s will, by protecting the person he died for- due to Jimbei’s strong sense of obligation. The way they came to understand each other was very specifically as a point of stability in a sea of grief, a point that allowed Jimbei to see a brighter & more autonomous future through Luffy, and Luffy to be able to reconcile with the present- and the people still with him in it- in order to chase such.
The roles they take on in the Post-War saga emphasize this point, with Jimbei reminding Luffy of his ambition & his sense of determination, but they also reinforce what each character then comes to mean to each other following the time-skip.
Jimbei, who is put in the position of both a rock & a caregiver, represents Luffy coming to a healthier & more mature understanding of what it means for someone to be a stable presence in his life, which is huge considering Luffy’s struggles with abandonment. Luffy strongly desires for Jimbei to join his crew from late into the Post-War saga & into early post time-skip op, and yet the narrative repeatedly creates obstacles preventing it. Luffy, as per usual, is not put off by this. What changes, however, is that he is much more accepting of the obstacles when faced with them rather than immediately trying to find a way to rid himself of them. He is able to accept Jimbei’s obligation to Fishman Island, and to those who served under him during the escape from Whole Cake Island. However, this shift toward acceptance isn’t complete until Jimbei joins the crew, as we see when Luffy makes a similar request of Jimbei to what he asked of Ace, stating that Jimbei is to return even if it means death. With Jimbei’s return in Wano, as well as the general theme of the crew splitting off in groups to do their own thing, Luffy is put in a position where both the source of his abandonment issues & the consequences he fears as a result of them are being directly confronted by the growth in his ability to trust those around them- it is Jimbei, however, that the narrative has chosen to use to emblematize as much.
And, to turn the tables, throughout the Post-War saga Luffy is a character that puts Jimbei in the position to act, and in the position to encourage prioritization of the self. This is also a theme that had been introduced prior to that point, with Jimbei initially refusing to promise to look out for Luffy for that very reason. This serves to emphasize what Luffy comes to mean for Jimbei insofar as the fact that Luffy is able to allow him a sense of personhood & a right to autonomy outside of what Jimbei views himself as owing to other people. A right to be selfish, if you will. Luffy’s determination & the conviction with which he chases after all which he wants opens a door that allows Jimbei to realize he’s allowed to have more say in his what forms his dreams, what those dreams are, & in where he throws in his lot in at the end of day than he ever thought possible. Being around Luffy grants Jimbei the understanding that, for all a person may have obligations, he is also allowed to live for himself- not revenge, or a cause, or a debt, or a service- just himself. Luffy is able to awaken Jimbei’s joie de vivre simply by viewing the world as something he has a right to- which starkly contrasts the more jaded way Jimbei saw things as a result of his own experiences. And it is foundational to Jimbei’s entire arc after his reintroduction in Fishman Island.
Also worth noting in this discussion is the fact that Jimbei joins the crew in the arc that finally starts to impose a sense of closure around Ace’s death.
But, yeah. Idk. It just seems weird to see people mostly talk about them through the lens of disagreeing somewhat emphatically about whether they fit more into the mold of Uncle & Nephew, or Older & Younger Sibling, or Father & Son when there’s so much going on with them?? Especially because it is very pointedly none of the above. It’s about what living can look like & what we hold onto as a means to survive it. Why are we trying to impose nuclear family roles on found family dynamics anyhow? We don’t need their framework, smh. (Tone indicator: tongue-n-cheek)
Also, super tangentially related sidetone but, in a way it is almost structurally reminiscent of Zoro & Chopper (for all Jimbei & Luffy’s dynamic is granted a much higher degree of gravity by the narrative) except Luffy is the Chopper in this context. Think about it. Jimbei is not only a former Warlord of the Sea whom the World Government felt the need to lock in the deepest level of Impel Down due to his singular opposition to a war, but he’s also a former Sun Pirate- a pirate group that specialized in picking fights with one of the three most powerful factions in the world. And, yes, Luffy is basically a god, but he is also Luffy. When it comes to Jimbei, with Luffy he is very much wearing the little-buddy goggles, albeit in a slightly more exasperated fashion than Zoro does with Chopper. I’d put that on Jimbei being more mature. But, like, there are dots to be connected.
#IT IS ABOUT DREAMS. AND IT IS ALSO ABOUT GRIEF. AND ALSO WHAT IT IS TO LOVE. AND WHAT IT IS FOR LOVE TO LIVE ON IN SPITE OF ITSELF.#jimbei#jinbei#jinbe#monkey d. luffy#one piece#long post#☀️

Ideas for Vivi on the Straw Hats:
Yes, I know she'll always choose Alabasta, but let me make my fucking fanfics ok
She is one of the weakest crew members, however, her role as a diplomat is indispensable in many situations as she is the one to get them places to stay and also support from other countries/islands. She uses whips and is always with Karoo when fighting.
In Skypiea, she spends most of the time trying to build her trust on Robin as she needs to accept her there since Luffy did, and Robin does apologize quietly a few times and Vivi struggles to forgive her. However, during Long Ring Long Land, they are put in games together and have to work together, and that helps them in building trust. Vivi forgives her near the start of Water 7 and is able to let go of past.
During Water 7, she tries to reach for Usopp in all ways possible, but is unable to until Sogeking shows up. She does not fucking hesitate to save Robin in Enies Lobby and, to protect Alabasta, uses a mask to hide her identity and is from now on known as Bluebird (this is from a fic I read and can't find if you're the author I'm sorry tell me and I'll give you the credits). Cries lots in Merry's goodbye.
In Thriller Bark, Karoo is by Usopp's side in the fight against Perona cuz, well, hes a duck and doesn't feel depression. Vivi is also one of those to be the most polite to Brook, although she used her whip to pull off his spine when he asked to see her panties.
In Sabaody, she is the luckiest one as she gets sent back to Alabasta. During the 2 years, she doesn't evolve that much in combat but manages to solve a lot of struggles the country was going through. Felt bad later for not training so much like the rest but nobody else thinks this.
In Fishman Island, definitely bonded with Shirahoshi and talked lots and lots about what the straw hats made for Alabasta. Develops a really good friendship with her and encourages her to follow her dreams. One the closest to Jinbei ever since then, would be one of the happier ones when he appears later in Wano.
Same thing that happened with Shirahoshi goes for Rebecca in Dressrosa, Vivi holds a special grudge against Doflamingo because of his similarities with Crocodile and the coup he tried on Alabasta.
In Whole Cake, she is part of the Sanji rescue team and tries to not lose her mind after the Sanji and Luffy fight. Was the one to get them to the island and that way they didn't need to go all sneaky through most of the arc. Left a little earlier to Wano and wasn't there for the tea party because they knew that when the assassination attempt happened Big Mom would aim for her.
As she did spy for two years, during Wano she'd be a part of the spy-and-plot team and not take that much fights. During the Raid on Onigashima, she'd protect Tama while her subordinates fought. Helped take Ulti down. Bonded a lot with Hiyori in all of this.
During Egghead, she'd be obviously pretty sad and depressed because of Cobra's death, but would refuse to believe it was Sabo to kill him. The straw hats told her to go back to Alabasta so she could handle the probable chaos in the country with the whole dead king thing, but then they got the news that the whole world was looking for Vivi and went 'yeah, you know what, you better stay here'. Likes a lot to stay around Bonney now cuz she's a funny kid. Would be in the part of the crew that remained on Sunny and didn't wake up on Elbaf.
Also there's Namivivi all over the place. Sorry I don't make the rules (I do)

So... I did a thing and decided to write Neri into the live action timeline. This takes place somewhere shortly before they meet Usopp. So far, it's just Luffy, Nami and Zoro on the crew as well as Neri whom they just have met.
It's kind of from Neri's POV and the reason she's calling them by their titles rather than their names when thinking about them is that she still does not trust them. I think she will start to trust Luffy first because really how can you not?
tw: assault (Neri gets assaulted here but is saved before anything bad can happen) English is not my first language so sorry if the writing feels weird, I haven't written a story in english in a while
"Stop inviting random people onto our ship. Especially if there's nothing they can contribute." "But… she's nice… and I wanted to help her… I'm sure she'll find a place in our crew!" "For the last time, we are not a crew!" The swordsman's words hurt and Neri, not waiting for the captain's answer, slowly moved away from the door. Sure, it had been nice of the rubber boy to help her out when she was on the run from her pursuers. Still, she shouldn't have come with them. This wasn't her place to be, this wasn't her home. The moment these people would learn who - or rather, what - she really was, she would end up being sold again. She would never be safe on a ship where she could come in contact with water so easily. The ship was still at the harbor. This was as good a time as any to leave the ship. She felt sad for the captain to had so nicely offered her a place in his crew, but it was too dangerous. And while rubber boy had been nothing but kind to her, the other two hadn't been as friendly. They clearly didn't trust her. And really, who could blame them? She hadn't been able to tell them anything without giving away her real species, so of course they didn't trust her. And once they knew… mermaids brought in the big cash, especially here in the East Blue, where they were so rare - it would only get her back to where she had fled from. After everything that had happened, after losing everyone she cared about, she wanted a home, a family, a place where she belonged. But this was not it. This could never be it. "Hey, where are you going?" the red-headed navigator asked when Neri slowly tried to climb off the ship. "I… have something… I mean… there's something I need to do", she stammered. She didn't want to say she was leaving - even that didn't feel safe anymore. Just disappear, she told herself. They barely know you. They will move on and you can… Well, that was the thing, the only place she probably would be safe was Fishman Island but it was all the way out there on the Grandline, the Pirate's Graveyard… and to get there, she would have to get on a ship - the very thing she couldn't do because on a ship, she would come in contact with water sooner or later and then everyone would know… "Well, suit yourself," the navigator said with a shrug. "Just be aware, we'll be heading out soon. If you're not back by then…" Neri nodded. She wouldn't be back by then and she figured the navigator knew that. Quickly, she left the ship and started to walk across the harbor, pushing past people. It was a small island but the harbor was still pretty busy during this time of the day. There were people loading the ships, sailors were coming and going, children playing in the middle of all this, running around and causing people to stumble, and passengers impatiently waiting to board one of the bigger ships. It was almost too much noise to handle but Neri kept on walking. For a moment, she thought someone had called her name - maybe the captain? It sounded like him. He had saved her the other day and invited her to join them and she had actually liked him. Still, it wasn't meant to be. Surely, he would understand that she had made her decision. She kept on walking without looking back.
Leaving the harbor, it got even more crowded. There was a market nearby and people all went into this direction, pushing Neri with them. She started to feel anxious. It was too loud, too crowded, too many people just shoving her out for their way when she wasn't walking fast enough. But walking on land was still something she was getting used too. Under the sea, things were not like this - not this crowded, not this loud, not this harsh. Nearby, some men were starting to yell at each other. This brought back unpleasant memories from getting yelled at herself while being imprisoned. Quickly, Neri stepped sideways into the shadows. It was the entry to a side alley with huge, unpleasant smelling dumpsters lining the brick walls on both sides. It was quieter here, the further she kept walking, so she went on, ignoring the unpleasant smell. Maybe this alley would take her away from all the noise and all the people. Sure, she still had no place to go, but anything was better than here right now. But suddenly, she was no longer alone. Behind her, voices got louder and louder. They were talking to each other, it seemed. She stopped and leaned against a wall that belonged to a tall rundown warehouse building. Maybe they would walk past her, minding their own business. Unfortunately, as she had already learned, humans rarely did. These ones were no exception. They were adult males, three of them, with bottles in their hands, obviously already - or still - drunk at this time of the day. Neither of them looked too pleasant. Neri shrank back and just hoped and prayed they would walk past without noticing her. They nearly did. But then one of them turned his head and suddenly stopped. "Look at this," he said. "A little lady…" Quickly, Neri turned, and, avoiding eye contact, tried to keep walking. Unfortunately, she was immediately grabbed and yanked back. "Hey little lady, not so fast," the guy from before said. "Let's have a proper look at you, alright?" "No thank you," Neri muttered and started to run. Unfortunately, she immediately was grabbed. One of the guys was firmly holding her with her arms behind her back while the other two were leering at her. "Please let me go!" "Please let me go!" they mocked her. "There's no chance we're letting you get away, sweetheart. You're too pretty!" Neri started to panic. She tried to kick them, but they only laughed at her attempts to get free. One of them roughly yanked at her hair for trying to kick him. "Be nice," he warned her. "Or we'll show you just how nasty we can get!" "You're already nasty!" she replied, still struggeling. Was this really how it all would end? Were all humans like this? Other than the rubbery captain and his two friends, they all had treated her like shit. Ever since she had been caught and dragged on land, it had gotten worse and worse. "Let's show her just how nasty we can get," one of them laughed. They were all grabbing her now. She screamed and kicked and bit one of them in the arm, but that only resulted in her getting slapped in the face. Neri screamed again when she was thrown onto the dirty ground like a piece of trash. Then someone was over her - and then he wasn't anymore.
"And just what are you going to show her?" another voice asked. It was the swordsman's voice and Neri breathed a sign of relief. At the same time she was wondering how he got here and why he was here. She had thought the navigator had understood that she had left for good. "How is that any of your business?" one of the guys sneered. "Let's knock this freak out", the second one said. "Ummm, have you looked at him? He's carrying three swords," the third one said, slowly stepping back. "So what?" The first one rolled his eyes. "He can only use one at a time anyway." Next thing they knew, all three of them were bleeding. Their bottles were on the ground. And the swordsman was holding two of his swords. "I can get the third one out, too," he said. The first guy looked like he thought it would be a good idea to get into a fight, but luckily, the other two started dragging him away. Neri hastily got onto her feet. She wanted to turn and run away too but her legs were shaking. "Next time I'll see you, I'll cut off your hands," the swordsman called after them. They weren't even looking back. He turned his attention towards Neri. "And what are you doing? Why aren't you on the ship?" "I was… leaving?" She thought that had been quite clear and besides, neither he and the navigator had been too impressed when their captain had invited her to join them. "Oh yeah? Well next time, you run that by Luffy first. He still thinks you're on the crew." She threw him a look. "I thought you're not a crew?" "Well, Luffy thinks we are… and for now, we have some common goals, so… didn't you say you want to reach the Grandline too?" Yes, she wanted to get to Fishman Island - maybe there she would finally be save again… "Yes, but… I'm just a random person your captain picked up on the street," she said. "I heard you talking. And I mean, you're not wrong…" He grimaced. "Yeah, well, I'm trying to prevent Luffy from adding every weirdo we come across to this so-called crew. If you prove yourself to not be a weirdo… you're welcome to join as long as you pull your weight on board." Not a weirdo… well, from a human perspective, she definitely was weird. But maybe, just maybe… she could hide that a little longer until they were on the Grandline at least?
Looking down the dirty and dark alley, she realized that she needed a place to stay and people to rely on. This wasn't her world. She had to rely on someone else, even if it was only temporary. "I'll try not to be burden," she replied. "I've never been at sea before." Well, on a boat, she silently added. The swordsman turned and started walking and she hurried along to keep up with him. "How did you find me, anyway?" she wanted to know. "I didn't," he replied. "I was actually trying to take a shortcut. The streets on this island are just really confusing." "Are they?" she wondered, following him out of the alley. There was, after all, only one main road leading from the harbor in the direction of the market. "Are they not?" He looked back at her. "I mean, I can't even see the ocean from here." She didn't know if she should giggle or not. For someone wielding three swords, he was surprisingly clueless when it came to directions. "That's because you're looking in the wrong direction," she said, deciding to surpress the giggles for now. "The ocean's over there." Irritated, he looked around. Yes, there was the ocean, and it wasn't even that far away. The deep blue color could clearly be spotted from where they were standing. "Like I said, it's confusing," he grumbled. Finally, he walked in the right direction and she followed him, slightly amused. And maybe… her new crewmates weren't that perfect either? So perhaps she wouldn't feel completely out of place all the time…
The ship came into view and it looked ready to sail. It was a small one and there had already been talk about getting a bigger one. Luffy, the captain, was waving at them. "There you are! Come on, let's go!" Quicky, they climbed on board. "I'm sorry," Neri said to Luffy, feeling she should at least say something to explain the delay. "I was just…" "Got everything sorted out?" Luffy asked her, grinning. "Well, then I guess we're all set. Let's get going!" "Set the sails!" the navigator shouted at them. And soon, they were out at sea, the island behind them getting smaller and smaller. In front of them, the ocean shimmered in the deepest blue, spreading far and wide before them. It was a marvelous sight and Neri, leaning over the railing, with the wind in her long hair, suddenly felt very calm and at peace with her situation for the first time since she had been captured. Maybe, just maybe, everything would turn out okay?

Thank you guys for everything, and showing love to my first fan fic! And without further a do let the adventure begin!
Word Count: 4.7K
Sanji x Reader, Sanji x Y/N, One piece X Reader
Zoro POV…
"Sir Law and Lady Y/N have been seized," Kinemon said through the transponder snail.
"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?!" the group shouted in unison.
"Damn it!" I heard Sanji yell from the other end, followed by the sound of crashing. "That’s it! We’re turning the ship around!" Sanji’s voice rang with urgency.
I was about to respond when I heard a marine nearby shout, "Capture them!"
"That’s our cue to go!" I said, making a full 360 around the palace, trying to calculate our next move. "Hey, Luffy! Now’s your chance to find an exit!"
"I’m on it! Let’s go!" Luffy’s voice crackled through the snail, full of determination. "I heard Traffy and Y/N mutter something before they got taken—they might still be conscious!"
"Y/N..." I muttered under my breath, the frustration boiling inside me. "Was this all necessary for the plan?"
"What plan?!" Sanji’s voice crackled back, sharp with confusion and anger.
I braced myself for the reaction. "Her plan was not only to face Doflamingo head-on... but also to be captured by him."
"WHAT?!" the group erupted, Chopper and Brook wailing on the other end of the line.
"IS SHE OUT OF HER MIND?!" Usopp shouted, his voice panicked.
"Mosshead!!" Sanji's voice cut through the chaos, his tone full of fury. "You mean to tell me Y/N planned to get captured?! What the hell are you guys doing down there?! Letting her face that bastard on her own?"
I clenched my teeth. "Listen, curly-brow, it’s not like we’re just sitting back! Y/N’s plan is reckless, but she knows what she’s doing. She’s buying us time... and something else."
"Yeah, well, that something better not be her life!" Sanji retorted, his voice strained.
I could hear Nami’s voice in the background, sounding equally worried. "Why didn’t you stop her, Zoro?!"
I huffed, gripping my sword. "I couldn’t. She had her mind set on it. You know how Y/N is—stubborn as hell, just like Luffy. If she thought this was the only way, then we’ve got to trust her."
A heavy silence followed before Usopp finally broke it. "Trust her? Trust her to what, get captured by Doflamingo and expect to walk out of there?"
"Exactly!" I replied, feeling the weight of my words sink in. "Y/N isn’t done yet. She’s got something up her sleeve. And I swear... we’ll get her and Traffy back."
More yelling erupted over the snail. "What now—are you guys in trouble too? What’s happening?!" Luffy’s voice was frantic.
"We’ve got a huge problem!" Brook’s panicked tone came through. "It’s Big Mom’s ship!"
"What?!" I exclaimed, dodging a barrage of Marine gunfire.
"There they are!" A Marine soldier’s voice rang out, followed by the sound of weapons being readied.
"Damn it, they’ve spotted us!" I growled, slashing through another wave of attackers, trying to make space for us to move. "Luffy, get ready! You need to find a way out!"
"Are you sure? Is Big Mom attacking?" Luffy asked, his voice laced with worry.
"Luffy, we’re in the middle of it here too! Talk and run!" I barked, ducking as another shot rang out.
"Can you see her on her ship?" Luffy pressed, sounding as if he was still running.
Sanji's voice cut in. "Can’t be sure if it’s her, but I do see those two weirdos from Fishman Island!"
"And why the hell is Caesar back on the Sunny?!" Luffy yelled in frustration.
I kicked a Marine hard, sending him sprawling. "It’s obvious, isn’t it? The plan didn’t work out. That’s why Traffy got his ass handed to him!"
"Yeah, we’re stuck with him, unfortunately," Sanji added with a sigh.
"I don’t think we should take Caesar anywhere near Dressrosa!" Nami’s voice came through the snail, alarmed.
"What?!" I shouted, my frustration mounting. "Are you forgetting that Y/N is part of this now?!"
"For once, I agree with Mosshead," Sanji responded, surprising me.
Nami took a deep breath and pressed on. "Look, I’m not saying this because I want to back down. I know you all want to go back and save Law and Y/N, and I know you want to help the little people, Franky. But we need to think this through. If we rush back, we’re going to lose everything."
"Exactly," I added, cutting through another Marine. "There’s more at stake than just Y/N and Law. Doflamingo’s fighting for four things—the Smile Factory, Caesar, Momo, and now Y/N. We haven’t finished our mission yet, and he’s got Y/N, but we still have Caesar and Momo." "If we go back now and give Caesar to Doflamingo, then everything we’ve done is wasted!" Nami said, urgency filling her voice. "Law and Y/N put themselves in this position to buy us more time. I know Y/N—if she got captured, it’s part of a bigger plan."
"Right!" I said, cutting down another Marine as the conversation continued. "She’s always thinking ahead."
"Gotcha, good point!" Luffy responded, determination in his voice. "Just gotta figure out a way to save Traffy and Y/N. What’s the next island?"
"That would be Zou," Kinemon answered, his voice calm but focused.
Luffy made his decision quickly. "Sanji, Nami, Chopper, Brook, Momo—you guys move on ahead to Zou."
There was a pause before Sanji’s voice came through the transponder snail. "Well, if that’s what you want, Captain, then you got it. But two requests first."
Luffy, curious, asked, "What is it?"
"One," Sanji began, his voice more serious than usual, "is to please get Y/N back. And two, permission to fight back. I want to launch a counterattack on Big Mom’s ship."
Luffy grinned, the confidence radiating from him. "Sure, why not! And you got it!"
"I already started that fight anyway," Luffy added with a laugh.
"All of you stay safe, okay!" Luffy said as the call came to an end. The tension in the air remained thick, but everyone knew their roles now.
"Both Traffy and Y/N’s lives are at stake, Rebecca’s wish is at stake, and Doflamingo is behind all of this!" Luffy shouted, a fiery resolve in his voice. "Hang on, Y/N, we’re coming!" He ran through the colosseum, still searching for a way out, determined to face Doflamingo once and for all.
The rest of us pressed forward, ready for the next move.
Sabo POV…
As I moved deeper into the Colosseum, the weight of the situation grew heavier. I couldn’t help but replay Y/N’s reckless plan in my mind. She always had this boldness about her, the kind that made me admire her and worry at the same time. "Damn it, Y/N," I muttered. "I hope you know what you're doing."
The transponder snail rang again, and I sighed, knowing it was Koala. "Yeah?" I answered, bracing myself.
"Sabo, finally! Did you make it inside?" Koala asked, her tone sharp but concerned.
"Yeah, I’m in," I replied, glancing around for any signs of Doflamingo’s men.
"Good! What took you so long?!" she pressed, clearly annoyed.
I couldn’t help but smirk. "Let's just say a beautiful warrior required some assistance."
There was a pause before Koala’s teasing voice chimed in. "Oh, you mean Y/N again, huh?"
My cheeks instantly flushed. "What? I mean, yeah, but... it’s not like that!" I stammered, rubbing the back of my neck, feeling embarrassed.
"Sure, sure," she teased. "So, are you gonna finally ask her for that 'good luck kiss' you keep talking about?"
I chuckled despite myself. "If Y/N makes it through this plan of hers, I just might," I said, feeling a strange mix of nerves and excitement. "But right now, we’ve got more pressing matters. Missions first."
Koala laughed lightly. "You better not chicken out when the time comes, Sabo."
I smirked, pushing the emotions aside. "Koala, I’ll collect that kiss later, but right now... I’ve got a fruit to win." I chuckled before ending the call and slipping deeper into the Colosseum’s corridors. The noise from the arena above echoed through the halls, but my thoughts kept drifting back to Y/N and her plan.
"This has to work, Y/N," I thought to myself, pushing forward with determination. "You’ve always been reckless, but this... getting captured on purpose? Even for you, that’s crazy." Despite the seriousness of the situation, I couldn’t help but smirk again. "Still, you always do have a way of surprising me."
The path ahead grew darker, but I continued on until voices stopped me in my tracks. I ducked into the shadows, listening closely.
"I don’t have time to waste!" Luffy’s voice boomed, frustration evident. "Y/N and Traffy need me!"
A deep voice responded, clearly not taking the situation seriously. "The beautiful princess is here too?! Someone pinch me—this is like a dream!"
I stifled a laugh, recognizing the enthusiasm. "That guy definitely knows who Y/N is," I muttered, shaking my head.
"There’s gotta be an exit! It’s an emergency!" Luffy says urgently.
I was about to step out when the topic shifted. "But, Mr. Luffy, what about the Flame-Flame Fruit?" said the same deep voice, pulling my attention back to why I was here in the first place.
Luffy’s voice turned serious again. "There’s only one guy I don’t want to get that fruit... but my friends' lives are in danger. I need to help them."
That’s when I knew I had to step in. Stepping out of the shadows, I caught their attention. "If you think you’re getting the Flame-Flame Fruit, you’re wrong." I locked eyes with Luffy, my smirk returning. "Sorry, Luffy. The fruit belongs to me."
The guy next to Luffy was instantly on the defensive, coming towards me. "Who the hell do you think you are?! That fruit belonged to Luffy’s big brother Ace—no one deserves it more than Mr. Luffy, and He’s also going to be King of the Pirates, you catch that!"
I pushed him aside with ease, eyes never leaving Luffy’s. "I know," I said, my voice steady. "I’ve known that for years."
Luffy’s eyes widened, recognition dawning. "Hey! What’s your deal? Why can’t I have the fruit?" he asked, confusion and frustration mingling in his voice.
I stopped just a few feet in front of him, pulling off my top hat with a smile.
Luffy’s jaw dropped, his eyes filling with tears. "It’s you!" he choked, his voice thick with emotion.
"It’s been a while," I said softly, smiling at him. "Luffy."
The next few moments were a blur of tears, the weight of our reunion settling in. But as much as I wanted to stay, we both knew our paths were pulling us in different directions. Luffy had to go, leaving me to take his place in the competition.
I watched him disappear into the distance, my heart heavy with memories of Ace and the battles we still had to face. But there wasn’t time to linger. I quickly shed my coat, hat, and cravat, loosening my blue long sleeve button shirt to reveal the "X" on my chest. I donned the gladiator helmet and mustache, completing my disguise with a deep red cloak. Now, I was ready.
Before stepping into the arena, I called Koala one last time. "I’m ready," I said, gripping the transponder snail tightly. "Oh, and I heard Robin’s in town. It’s been forever... I hope I get to see her." Said Koala her voice softened. "I’m glad you got to see Luffy."
I nodded, though she couldn’t see it. "Yeah. I thought he was gonna punch me." I chuckled, though my throat tightened with emotion. "I barely held it together."
Koala let out a teasing laugh. "Are you crying?"
I wiped at my eyes, trying to keep it together. "What? No! I’m not crying!" But it was a weak defense.
Koala’s tone shifted to something more serious. "You’re thinking about Ace, aren’t you? Wondering if you could’ve saved him... if you could’ve been there."
Her words struck deep, and for a moment, I couldn’t respond. The silence between us was heavy, filled with unspoken regret.
"You can’t blame yourself, Sabo," she said softly. "No one could have known."
I took a deep breath, steadying myself. "Yeah, I know." I sighed. "Let me know when you find out more about the underground. I’ll be ready."
"Okay. Koala added, her voice filled with concern.
I hung up, taking a moment to gather myself before stepping into the dome. "Ace, I’m gonna get that fruit back for you," I thought, my grip tightening. "Luffy and I... we’ll carry your will."
With that, I entered the arena, ready to fight for the Flame-Flame Fruit and the legacy Ace left behind.
Zoro POV…
"These disguises are weird, Kinemon," I said, adjusting the toy animal costume we were all squeezed into. It wasn’t exactly the most comfortable get-up, but it seemed to be fooling the Marines, so I couldn’t complain too much. Luffy, however, was having a harder time with it.
"Now, I know the Flame-Flame Fruit will be in good hands," he mumbled through his tears.
"Can you tell us why you’re crying?" I asked, watching him with a mix of concern and frustration. We were racing towards the palace, and this emotional detour was not helping our urgency.
"I never thought he might still be alive," Luffy said, his voice choked with emotion. "I was sure he died all those years ago, but all this time, he was out there."
"Who the hell are you talking about?" I demanded, my patience wearing thin. We were on a tight schedule, and Luffy’s emotional outburst was not helping our mission. Luffy continued to cry uncontrollably, his tears flowing freely. I smacked him on the head, trying to get his attention. "How long are you going to keep crying?!"
"I can’t help it!" Luffy sobbed, his voice cracking with the weight of his emotions.
"I’ve never seen Sir Luffy cry such profound tears; he must really care that his friend is here," Kinemon observed, his tone sympathetic yet practical.
"Yeah," Luffy managed to choke out through his tears. "It’s just—"
"How come I’ve never heard of this friend before? Who is this guy?" I pressed, trying to cut through the emotional haze.
"He’s... my brother!" Luffy finally revealed, his voice barely above a whisper.
"What! You mean Ace is somehow alive?!" I exclaimed, astonished. All those years ago, I thought Ace was lost to us forever. This revelation was mind-blowing.
Luffy, still struggling with his tears. "It’s just like Ace said back then. We may go different paths, but we are still brothers," he said, his voice a mix of laughter and crying.
"Okay, but who is this guy?" I asked again, trying to clarify despite Luffy’s continued emotional state.
Y/N POV…
Groaning, I felt as though I'd been run over by a freight train. Cold water hit me with a jolt, soaking through my clothes and causing my body to shiver uncontrollably. I struggled to move, only to find that my wrists were shackled tightly to the arms of a chair.
"What the hell...?" I mumbled, disoriented and trying to process my surroundings.
Doflamingo’s voice, laced with malevolence, cut through my confusion. "Ah, Princess, you’re finally awake," he drawled, his presence looming menacingly. Fujitora sat beside him, observing with an inscrutable expression.
"I hope you don’t mind. I took the liberty of hastening things along," Doflamingo said with a taunting grin. The cold water had only added to my discomfort, and I could see the malevolent satisfaction in his eyes.
"You bastard!" I shouted, struggling against the restraints.
Doflamingo’s laughter was chilling. He moved closer, his gaze fixed on me as his hand traced dangerously close to my neck. "Ah, still with that fiery spirit," he purred. "It makes me desire you even more."
I tried to push his hand away with my shoulder, my irritation boiling over. Before I could respond, a sharp crackle interrupted us as a subordinate’s voice came through a transponder snail. "Cyborg Franky is trying to breach the main entrance of the toy factory!"
"Franky!" My heart raced. "Phase 2 is underway. Luffy will be here soon."
Doflamingo’s attention shifted to Fujitora. "This chaos is unacceptable. This nation is affiliated with the World Government. You’re supposed to assist me."
Fujitora gave a curt nod and stood up. Doflamingo’s focus returned to me, his smile predatory. His gaze landed on the heart-shaped necklace Law had given me, and he reached out, his fingers playing with it.
"Who gave you this necklace?" he demanded, his tone cold and commanding.
I stayed silent, defiance clear in my eyes. Doflamingo’s patience snapped. He grabbed my chin forcefully, making me look directly at him. "I’m not asking again. Who gave you this necklace?"
I remained mute, and his anger boiled over. With a violent yank, he tore the necklace from my neck and threw it against the wall. The chain snapped, and the heart shattered into 2 pieces.
"Think you can defy me even from beyond the grave, Rosinante!?" Doflamingo hissed, his voice filled with rage.
I glared at him, trying to stay composed despite the chaos. "No matter," Doflamingo continued, regaining his smug demeanor. "Princess, I think it’s time we get you out of these wet clothes." His fingers trailed over the fabric of my mesh top, and I tried to shrug him off.
Then he gripped my left shoulder and dug his fingers into the bullet wound, causing a sharp, searing pain to shoot through me. "Ahhh!" I cried out.
Doflamingo’s smirk widened, clearly pleased with my reaction. He picked up another transponder snail and spoke into it. "Baby 5, prepare the princess for me."
"Why should I?" Baby 5’s voice replied, tinged with annoyance.
"Because I need you to," Doflamingo said smoothly. "The young master… needs me... Alright, I’ll be up shortly!" Baby 5 responded before hanging up.
As I tried to steady my breathing, I noticed that despite being shackled and soaked, my rings and anklet were still on me. Along with the weight of my bracelet. It was a small comfort amidst the pain. However, my swords were nowhere to be found.
Doflamingo seemed to read my thoughts. He leaned in, his grin widening. "If you’re searching for your swords," he taunted, "good luck trying to find them. I’ve hidden them very well."
I stared at him, my mind racing. "How... how did you.." I said, struggling to understand.
Doflamingo’s eyes gleamed with dark amusement. "Oh, I have my methods," he said cryptically, as he slowly traced a finger from my collarbone up to my face, making my skin crawl. His attention shifted as the video transponder snail flickered to life, broadcasting the fight in the colosseum.
"See that old man? Your granddaughter sure is lucky, if I do say so myself, King Riku," Doflamingo said menacingly, his words dripping with mockery.
"King Riku?" I thought, my mind racing.
"Who would have thought this would become a family affair, interesting," Doflamingo continued. "What happened? Willing to drop some elbows for a devil fruit? Oh, how the mighty have fallen."
Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a shadowy figure in chains, dressed in a gladiator outfit. "Was he also in the tournament?" I wondered, watching him carefully.
"Your family has been acting a little off today," Doflamingo sneered. "And that includes sweet little Violet’s betrayal. I don’t believe in coincidences, so, is this some kind of coincidence?" He taunted King Riku, stepping closer to the deposed king.
King Riku began to explain why he had entered the tournament, and my heart tugged at his words. "This poor king, he really was trying to protect his people."
Suddenly, Doflamingo’s attention shifted again, this time to another figure I hadn’t noticed before. He stepped in front of a chained and unconscious Trafalgar Law. "She put so much stock in this rookie, and look what’s become of him—Trafalgar Law," Doflamingo said smugly. Law was bound by seastone shackles, slumped in a chair.
"Law!" I cried, my heart racing. "Law, please wake up!" I struggled against my own restraints, my chains clinking as I rattled them. I caught a glimpse of his face—still unconscious. "Law..." I whispered, my voice barely audible as Doflamingo loomed over me once more.
I instinctively tried to kick out at him with my right leg, but it barely moved. I felt the tug of something hard restraining me further. "Princess," Doflamingo said, amusement playing on his lips, "you didn’t honestly think I’d leave you with just chains, did you? Not with that monstrous kick of yours. My strings control everything."
"Damn it!" I thought, frustrated that I hadn’t realized my legs were bound too.
Doflamingo continued to taunt me, his voice full of derision. "And what about that boy, the one who became famous with demon blood in his veins? How pathetic, thinking they could defeat me."
I laughed in response, despite the fear gnawing at my insides. "That’s where you’re wrong, Doffy," I said defiantly. "My captain will defeat you, because he’s going to be King of the Pirates!"
Doflamingo’s face twisted in anger. Without warning, he reached for my throat, his hand tightening around my neck, cutting off my air supply. I gasped, struggling to breathe as his grip constricted. "Naughty little princess, aren’t you?" he growled through gritted teeth.
Just as I felt my vision begin to blur, Baby 5 burst into the room. "Young Master! I’m here! You needed me?" she chirped, her eyes gleaming with eagerness.
Doflamingo smirked and finally let go of my neck, allowing me to gasp for air, coughing as my lungs burned from the sudden intake of oxygen. "Take the princess to my quarters and get her ready for me," he ordered coldly.
As Baby 5 moved to drag me away, I choked out, "Wait!" My voice was hoarse, my body trembling. "I’ll make you a deal."
Doflamingo raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Oh? And what deal could a captured little princess like you possibly offer me?"
I swallowed hard, trying to steady my racing heart as Doflamingo’s smirk widened, his dark amusement never wavering. I knew I had to play this carefully, or everything would fall apart.
“We can continue playing this game of chase,” I said, my voice slightly hoarse but defiant. “If you can catch me, then you can do whatever you want.” I saw his eyes gleam with interest, and I sensed the desire in his tone before he even spoke. “But,” I added, my voice firmer now, “if I win, you let Law go. No tricks, no strings attached.”
Doflamingo chuckled darkly, stepping closer until he was mere inches from my face. “Oh, Princess,” he said, voice dripping with malicious glee, “you think you can outsmart me? That you can run from me?” His fingers trailed along my cheek, sending a shiver down my spine. “You’re more fun than I thought.”
I clenched my jaw, meeting his gaze unflinchingly. “It’s your move, Doffy. But remember... if I win, Law walks free.”
For a moment, the room was filled with tense silence. Then, Doflamingo stepped back, letting out a low, dangerous laugh. “Alright, Princess, I’ll play your little game. But if I catch you…” His voice dropped, thick with sinister intent, “You’re mine. No more negotiations.”
I swallowed my fear, knowing that I had just gambled everything on this.
Suddenly, a subtle shift in the air made my pulse quicken. “Phase 3 is in motion,” I thought, feeling a rush of adrenaline as I prepared for the next step. Time was running out, and I had to move fast.
The challenge was set. Now, it was time to see if I could stay one step ahead of the devil himself.
Zoro POV…
We finally made it to the palace steps, but it felt like a damn maze to get in. "There’s going to be a lift just ahead!" said the little fairy perched on my shoulder.
"Okay, listen, the palace, the toy house, and the tree port where the Smile factory is—they’re all connected," she continued.
"So that means Traffy and Y/N gotta be at the top floor!" Luffy exclaimed, already fired up.
"That’s right," she confirmed, nodding. "To get access to the factory, you need to either pass through the palace or enter through the toy house."
I adjusted the little fairy on my shoulder, feeling her tiny hands grip my hair for balance. "I can’t wait to see you guys!" Luffy grinned, bouncing with excitement.
"We don’t show our faces often, the only people allowed are the Straw Hat crew and Usoland," she said casually.
"Uso-what?" I frowned, not sure if I even heard that right.
"There’s no time to explain all the details! Operation SOP is underway. You can see it there—that’s the lift entrance to the palace I was telling you about," she pointed ahead. "Only problem is, we need a passcode to get in."
"We can just kick their butts!" Luffy said, ready to swing into action.
"No! You do that, it’ll draw unnecessary attention to us," the fairy snapped back, her wings fluttering in annoyance.
"What’s so wrong with that?" Luffy muttered under his breath.
"I’m stuck with a blockhead who gets lost and a simpleton who believes everything is solved with his fists," she said, shaking her tiny head.
"What did you just call me?!" I growled, clenching my fist in annoyance. This little fairy was really starting to get on my nerves.
"Somebody's there," Luffy said suddenly, drawing our attention.
A woman on a toy horse appeared from the shadows, her eyes sharp as they landed on Luffy. "Are you Straw Hat Luffy?" she muttered quietly.
"Yeah, what of it?" Luffy replied without hesitation, earning an annoyed groan from both me and Kin’emon.
"Don’t just tell her that!" I snapped, glaring at him.
The woman dismounted, revealing herself fully. "Come with me. I’m here to guide you to the palace," she said, stepping closer.
As she removed her cloak, the realization hit me like a punch to the gut.
It was Violet.
“It’s great that you want to help and all, but do you really think you can pull this off?” I asked Violet, trying to assess the situation.
“Don’t worry, I have the pass that you mentioned,” Violet replied, glancing at the door. “But you should take another route instead. Although the lift will take you straight to the palace, you’re still at risk.”
“Let’s go back to Plan A, then,” Luffy said enthusiastically. “Let’s kick ass and get to Y/N and Traffy!”
“That won’t do!” I yelled, frustration clear in my voice. “And more importantly,” Violet interjected, “you look suspicious.”
“Madame, I am offended,” Kinemon said, taking a defensive stance.
“Wait, come to think of it, aren’t you the one who lured our idiot cook earlier?” I said, narrowing my eyes at Violet. “Did you by any chance give Sanji the map of the toy house? How did you acquire it?”
“I was one of Doflamingo’s subordinates,” she confessed.
“She was only pretending to be a bad guy!” the little fairy chimed in, her voice filled with a mix of relief and urgency. I looked up at the palace, the weight of our mission pressing heavily on me. “We’re close. Y/N, just hold on a little longer.”

some egghead zolu shenanigans, up to chapter 1080.
zoro staying on sunny, because he knows the others might be in need of some rescuing, and because he doesn't trust vegapunk lilith (ch. 1065)
then caribou, who was travelling with them to get ouf of wano, appears and zoro thanks him for helping luffy before
- it was a small but important moment in the manga, because it was definitely the time when caribou had food on him thanks to his powers, and gave it to luffy who got new strength before his final battle with kaido on onigashima. (ch. 1021)
at that moment zoro was fighting his own stuff some place else, so it's interesting if luffy mentioned it/talked about this with his crew in between wano & egghead -and possibly they made a deal with caribou to get him out of wano in exchange for the food he gave luffy.
still it's something very cool how zoro keeps that in mind so much that he says it out loud here on egghead, the priorities of that's important to him - that someone helped luffy when he needed it. that the food possibly saved luffy in that moment.
and how zoro thinks about food in general, being so crucial for luffy to get his strength for battles and ofc just existing (luffy mentioning the first time they met at shells town where zoro was being held and starving, that he, luffy, wouldn't last even three days without food) , and zoro seems to keep that in mind, like giving him the meat when they saw each other again in wano (despite it being kinda poisoned) "no worries about food"
something that i keep coming back to is this part in sabaody/beginning of fishman island arc, where zoro points out he needs to go fishing. yeah, he could have done anything else, but he was waiting for his crew and for luffy (and maybe he wanted to make sure that luffy wouldn't be hungry once he arrives. despite having sanji there, and despite not knowing luffy would have a full bag of food from boa. it still seems connected to luffy, because even when he gets out of that ship he accidentaly breaks that was on its way to fishman island, he says it again - that he wants to go fishing.)
anyway. back to egghead
i loved this part where the crew basically makes sure zoro stays put so he doesn't get lost, and he's like "i can't think of a reason why they want me to stay here"
while luffy up until then was running around that place searching for someone, when all he could do was check the vegapunk's snail cameras skdjskd. he's catching breath on the couch so much that zoro notices he's exhausted like that (i'm thinking what all could be some gear 5 side-effects and how long they would last, being so tired/drained of energy afterwards his nika shift.. even before these panels luffy points out he just wanted to relax on that island for a bit. hm.)
another small zolu moment - when luffy lost the contact of the vegapunks in his earpiece and feels something might be wrong. and zoro is concerned what's happening:
then later, when they are up against the seraphim, these two want to team up and more hilarious stuff happens lol
such a funny situation aksksdj
(these faces lol, reminds me of the oden and whitebeard ones in wano flashbacks)
few chapters later, zoro rushing to protect their other crewmembers, and luffy yelling at kaku to go with him, but because he doesn't know his name he just calls him usopp, that made me laugh so much
and then there was also this part, in ch. 1076:
luffy making sure if they team up with rob lucci and kaku, they wouldn't go after strawhats or vegapunks later - it feels like luffy is pointing out to rob lucci that he really doesn't want to mess with him like that.
zoro trying to be the voice of reason not to trust them.
but then rob lucci basically threatening luffy and his crew, that once the teaming up is done he wants to get rid of luffy.
i like how luffy doesn't say anything to that, but he looks really pissed off. he doesn't care if rob lucci goes after him, but he cares if he says /does anything bad to his crew and friends.
im only few chapters later after this so idk how that will progress, but im really curious about the final outcome between luffy and rob lucci. luffy doesnt forget important things, he even specified not to hurt any of his crew, and rob lucci still pointed it out they would be dead after he was out of the way. soo.. just really curious for the future chapters.
