aesthetic & headcanon — base award show solo stage

summary — haon will be performing his song, “any song” at the base awards. the single release was met with high success, leading for a mutual decision between gold star and haon to perform a solo stage with only one song. the setting, and the outfits were visualized by gyujeong before presenting it to gold star for approval. inspired by hedi slimane in his saint laurent paris era, gyujeong pays homage to the fashion designer through his outfit choice, and lack of props on stage as he creates a ‘fun’ (as fun as it can be) stage to a song that many people knows the words to. wc — 478

the lie is that gold star and haon both agreed to do one song for the stage. though gold star pushed for two or three, gyujeong remained firmed that he only wanted to do one. (his own reasoning: he didn’t want to be on stage for that long, nor did he want to perform in the first place). so, out of all his songs, gold star chooses any song as it has been the most popular of his releases, and has been catchy enough that the crowd can follow along.

another lie is that gyujeong wanted to have the stage set up a certain way to perform. it’s a half-lie as gyujeong did want to have creative input in how he performs, but he didn’t want to do it in a way that gold star had imagined.

basically, his set up is a stage where he lays in bed, wakes up and puts on his leopard coat to start that song. however, the stage doesn’t just stay on stage, but instead extends to the crowd (similar to the acting award performances). he jumps from the stage and onto the floor to where other idols and celebrities may be, takes an empty seat to recite a few verses before popping onto the next

hence, it’s a very interactive stage where he has to pretend to be friends with other idols for the sake of the performance

it’s only then that he falls back on stage to do the viral tik tok dance, which gold star thinks is genius (their idea ofc) because it brings the crowd to follow along to the dance, since most of the people have seen / know the challenge already.

it’s not his idealized stage, but the silver lining is that it’s only one song, so he doesn’t have to be on stage for longer than five minutes.

in terms of outfits, his outfit pays homage to hedi slimane. he’s a fan of hedi, but can’t technically wear saint laurent a lot since it’s a lot of skinny jeans / not within the scope of his chanel brand deal. but he’s able to do so because chanel is a womenswear line, and by putting him in saint laurent paris, there’s nothing overtly showy with the logo

so, he wears a saint laurent fur coat along, a basic white t-shirt, with the skinny jeans from slp. tops it off with a pair of season 13/14 wyatt chelsea boots. also, he keeps the accessories minimal with a chain from chrome hearts along with a pair of chanel sunglasses

this is how he starts before the chorus peaks and the dance ensues, to where he changes the fur coat to a red tweed chanel jacket to finish up the remaining of the song

the stage doesn’t mean anything as it’s more of an obligation than something he’s passionate for

1. Not a solid headcanon, but the idea that these two once stepped out of their time for ten or so years into a faerie realm dawned on me the other day and I really fell in love with it. It was an accident on their part, but it was an incredibly rare blessing from the Morrígan for one of her most devote followers. The idea was while Claudia was blessing the forest clearing behind the manor with her own personal "this is my home, no malevolent force shall trespass to harm" incantation ( Azrael being present because the spook loves to hang with his partner in crime, and Gelert and Lilac because they're almost always with these two ), ravens intervened and twisted the spell. "Home" as in "Manor" shifted, and became the true feeling of "home" that she shared with him. The veil pierced and ripped and the two had their world transition in that disorientating yet familiar way as it does when they cross through faerie rings, but also hauntingly similar to Divine intervention. It was sudden, and neither were prepared for it.

When the world stopped whizzing, they found themselves on a patch gloomed by eventide with a cottage. Eerie similar to their private one, but much different.

Being in the Fae Realm is a dangerous thing, but also incredibly exciting for the right personalities. Wonder, magic. Unreality. Owning property that is God granted by a divine of the Celtic pantheon, encased in a spell where no harmful energies can trespass and encroach upon their peace. But, everything else outside of their property is left in the hands of wild fate. Whatever happens, happens.

Completely divorced from the world they came from, they are suddenly in a new life together. Claudia is no longer aging, and neither are the two constant furry companions. Again, it is a whimsical, confusing and dangerous, but thrilling time. A wild fantasy. Time means nothing here, but it feels like years do pass because they're both still from the mortal world - they feel that subtle sensation that time is passing here in the weirdest, most vague sense. Ten years, at least.

But in the real world, it's only a day or two that's passed. A wink of sleep. How these two wound up back home was the Phantom Queen deciding time was up.

I think it might have been their intent to return one day and relocate their piece of heaven, but of course, canon events transpire that throw a curve ball right into any plans.

2. While few secrets exist between these two, Claudia had absolutely no idea about Ciel's resurrection before the manor reveal, and that's because it was fully intentional on Azrael's part. He had every ounce of confidence he would succeed in bringing the boy back, but after seeing the toll the tragedy took on Claudia, he was not about to risk it by any small percentage. He can count once on both hands how many times he's personally seen his wife weep, and he'd be damned if he'd count himself as an added digit.

Not to mention on Claudia's personal list of taboos, resurrecting the dead is a line that should never be crossed. Her belief is it will always go wrong, and no one ever comes back right. Bringing her grandson back to life is going to be a shock and a horror in more than one way. He knows this about her, and he knows just how hard set in her beliefs she is.

As such, he fully prepared for her reaction once Ciel was brought to the manor, as coolly and as astutely as possible. It was rocky, and he knew it would be, but he did succeed in smoothing the situation enough for her to be as comfortable as she's going to get with his help - the rest is up to her. Azrael's also keeping an eye on how the two interact, watching for signs of disturbed currents that might rock the boat too hard. If they clash, it could equate to a living hell for heart, house and present strategy. He's keeping a good eye on that to keep the water calm. ( the image of ut bouncing back and forth like john mulaney at hitches of tension like: "ok! ok! ok! ok! ok!" )

Here's the thing though, at the end of all that; favor actually weighs in very heavy for the old reaper, and the reason is very simple, but very effective: The fact Azrael is a Shinigami performing necromancy and not a human changes Claudia's perception drastically. He's not a mortal messing with prospects of the deceased, he's a God of Death. That, that right there is the ENORMOUS game changer. If anyone could pull off bringing back the dead, it could be him, could it not?

i just think that both of jeno's sons are the dopey side of him😭

hoon is physically very strong and has a lot of muscle but catch him always tripping over his own feet or his laces that have come undone or something, he's also super cute when it comes to his friendships/relationships and will always buy gifts for people (love language is definitely giving gifts)

haon is similar but in a more 'in his own world' way, like i headcanon that he owns a florist when he grows up,, he's just super sweet and isn't afraid to like feminine things either,, still dopey though and would also trip over his own laces

siwoo’s one of gyujeong’s best friends. has been since they first met inside a cypher group on the hongdae playground.

currently, siwoo’s a producer active in the underground hip hop scene, and he doesn’t create his music (not gray-esque, more like woogie or boycold)

they’re the same age, born in 1994 and siwoo’s always been the happy storm to counter gyujeong’s rough against the edges personality

siwoo’s personality is vastly different than his exterior. on the outside, he seems cold with his long hair always clouding his face and glasses askew — the earphones always detract the world from around him. yet, when he opens his mouth it all cracks and what’s left is a cesspool of cheap corny jokes (gyujeong likes to call him the second coming of kim heechul)

the reason why there’s so many pictures of them in the younger years is because siwoo always had a camera in hand to capture each memory. so many 흑역사s (bad memories? corny memories pictures?) all because of siwoo’s damn camera

musically wise, siwoo produces a lot of house and mellow beats. but also super versatile — there’s a reason why he’s the first to pass around ideas to, and why siwoo always gets hit with random bursts of gyujeong’s creativity

they’ve collaborated on a lot of songs (mostly unreleased), still there’s a certain synergy that happens when they’re together smoking away while listening to beats they’ve made half-dazed on sleep

in terms of personal talks / getting serious, siwoo knows the ins and outs of gyujeong’s life and the scandals that plague him — the fact gyujeong’s an idol hasn’t changed much about their friendship aside from the secrecy that they can’t go out to cafes as easily as they did when they were teens

true knight fans are aware, however, of siwoo’s existence and that’s probably how siwoo’s amassed a lot of followers with each comment being “thanks for being a good friend to haon!” 

their arguments if any are superficial, and mainly subjected to the best girl group — gyujeong picks fuse, and siwoo picks lucid now infatuated with the idea of chroma

jung jiwon 

jiwon’s a fast 1995, hence why they’ve dropped formalities of hyung/dongsaeng and relate themselves to donggap friends

jiwon’s also a producer but also releases his own stuff — very rare and sparse as producing he considers his real calling. he’s under the name of ‘sloom’ and has worked with some mid-tier companies to produce songs for the boy and girl groups (mainly he writes the raps)

at first glance, he’s scary? just because facial and neck tattoos aren’t that common in korea. and on the inside, he has even a tough exterior (허세) that gyujeong always calls him out on. it took them a near year? to become friendly, and they met each other through siwoo.

they rarely hang out in person? mainly over kakaotalk and messaging they keep in touch, send in beats to each other. but when they do see each other for the first time in a long time, it becomes a rekindled feeling where they’re not subjugated to any sort of “how’ve you been” but pick up where it’s last

at first, it became who can speak less when they were together but now, it’s who can shut up first considering they both go rampant about whatever game has caught their eye lately

jiwon agrees that fuse is superior to the girl group, and constantly badgers gyujeong to let him meet the leader. yet, gyujeong hesitates and laughs it off telling him to fuck off

jiwon’s music sounds a lot more of what sells on melon or award shows, yet he doesn’t have the big name value to let it chart — hence, why gyujeong wants to help when he can

jiwon lives in a half-basement, and that’s normally where they go to catch up as he’s one of the few that’s kept to that style of living as he sees it as homely rather than a bothersome to upgrade

cha sejoon

another 1994, and they’ve had the most complicated relationship out of the three

it’s the fact they’re similar, and similar personalities which led to a lot of clashes and misunderstandings over the years

the first fight obviously became over yeseul as sejoon really liked yeseul but then got slighted when gyujeong became mr. steal your girl — however, after a while, they got to talking and realized that pettyness aside, they do get along for the most part

sejoon is the most successful out of the underground friends, producing music as much as he puts it out. in the underground scene, he’s known as the heartthrob boyfriend of your dreams where fans like his looks more than the quality of music he puts out

gyujeong gives him the benefit of the doubt, music’s good for the most part — a bit on the idol-esque side, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

sejoon lives in a rooftop apartment and as much as that gets romanticized, sejoon’s constantly complaining about the bugs that come out and how he’s ready to move out (in reality, he’s too lazy) 

sejoon also stops by gyujeong’s apartment a lot on off days to talk, catch up — ironically, this is the friend he talks least about music with despite their similarities

they’ve gotten into a lot of fights in the past years, each time causing a few months without talk before one of them steps up and hits the other person up to talk it out

there’s a lot of miscommunications and read between the lines since they’re not the best at relaying what they really think — a few mishaps where people thought he was dissing ‘haon’ when in reality it was a diss against another idol rapper

as much as it pains gyujeong to say, he doesn’t know what he’d do without sejoon knowing that the fights have only parsed them closer and it’s the tit for tat banter that keeps their dynamic moving smoothly

Cody Headcanons

Alright so! I still haven’t started on that Gwen essay I promised a while back but I really wanted to get these off my chest since I know Cody in canon is like super dull and kinda annoying once I take off my baby goggles but self-projecting headcannoning a character super heavily tends to change things. I’ll be putting everything into dotpoints because fdjjjkdshsd I’m tired.

Cody’s bisexual (this is less of a headcanon and more of.. literally putting down canon onto this list since a lot of people kinda forget the whole Alejandro thing but Yeet)

Cody’s parents are neglectful (again, canon that often gets forgotten, but hang in there) but when they do remember “oh hey we have a child” they make him feel like shit (see: his dad literally leaving him and his mum for a year just so he could beat Cody at chess)

His parents fight constantly even though they know yelling/loud noises in general tend to scare Cody a lot

Cody began singing, playing the keyboard, and playing video games to kinda escape his mum and dad

That’s also why he signed up to Total Drama!! A whole summer away from the parents tends to sound good when they don’t give a shit about you

He falls for people super, super easily. (“Oh my god this person was nice to me I guess I’m in love now”)

That ear kiss?? Oh my god he was literally just going JKFDJKDDJK OH.. OH MY GOD?? Inside his mind like wOW someone LIKES him (see: the smile on his face when he woke up and saw what was happening, screaming only because Noah screamed)

Has no idea how the fuck to interact with others, especially people he likes. Being the leader of the Einstein Fan Club will do that to a guy.

After the... bear incident... Chris and Chef began to feel super concerned about him since 1) he brushed it off like it was no big deal and 2) they told his parents but for some reason?? He was still there?? Why aren’t his parents picking him up and taking him to a hospital or home or something wh

Really just wants the best for his friends/crushes, even if it means setting them up with someone else. Or each other. Like Gwen and Trent.

Kept trying to ask Noah out inbetween the time he spent out of his cast and like,, the first three episodes of Action but kept chickening out

Finally did it when Trent got voted off of Action, saw what was happening, and almost had a mental breakdown due to how fucking obvious it was that they both liked each other

Found out the hard way that long distance relationships are actually quite difficult to maintain. Especially when you’re touch starved like holy shit after the second week Cody was like “if I don’t get to hold Noah’s hand soon I will literally burst into flames”

Noah took him to his first ever Pride Parade with Owen, Eva, and Izzy as well, and he got a little pin with the bi flag on it

Is actually super open about his sexuality as long as he’s not on camera and always makes bi jokes. His favourite one is “I like my women how I like my men.”

All Stars was all an act actually Sierra and Cody are still friends and she’s dating Heather and they go on double dates

Cody and Heather are also super good friends and sometimes Heather will be like “I have some gossip I wanna share but I know Sierra will probably know it so you’re literally the only other person I can talk to” “Sick what is it”

After Island, the Aftermaths, being on tour with the Drama Brothers, and World Tour, Cody kinda forgot what life at home was like (wow me too haha) and was not prepared, to say the least

Now he’s grown a backbone though so fuck that noise and as soon as he hits eighteen he grabs his shit and leaves

He arrives at Noah’s doorstep and there are no questions asked he’s just let in

Anyway RR comes around and Nemma was fake actually that was Noah’s twin brother Haon he refused to take part in a season where he’d have to do a straight showmance so his brother was forced to be in it instead

Cody and Noah are happily married and live in a house with like four adopted kids who are super undeveloped and haven’t been thought about in months but guys from the noco discord server if you’re out there reading this can we get back into that that was fun

okay so huang jinjing and lee haon had been close basically since birth, like they were born in the same year, only 3 months apart, so they grew up together and even went to the same schools and everything

and renjun and jeno were perfectly calm with how much time they spent together because like ? they were best friends?? they been knew?? and then when it came for the two kids to go to university, they ended up going to the same, very brainy uni and the were roommates oh my god, they were roommates and i think that’s when renjun and jeno were a bit like ‘hmmmmmm’,, but they didn’t invade

and then,, one night, jinjing came home and she was pretty fucking drunk bc it was her friend’s birthday, and haon had a girl round, but as soon as he saw jinjing he was like ‘um could you go please thanks’ and spent the entire night taking care of jinjing!!! and they ended up falling asleep cuddling and haon was like ‘oh shit. oOh shit’ because what he was feeling was not normal towards your best friend!!!!!

(they made out a week later and since then were just the cutest couple ever)

aesthetic & headcanon — re[gone] analysis of each song

summary: re[gone] is the title of haon’s first full-length album. each song becomes something personal that dives into gyujeong’s own versions of freud’s theory. id becomes the ‘i’m so sad, boohoo.’ sad boy hours. ego becomes ‘life’s whatever’. and superego becomes ‘hahaha im on top of the world, fuck you all.’ rebellion, sadness — he calls it a mix of what the past decade’s been. elaboration on the songs below. (yes i know that’s not correct freudian psychology, but im saying it’s how gyu separates the songs into threes). warnings: none wc: 1569

middle fingers up

middle fingers up is the opener of the album and falls into the big ‘fuck you against the world’ type deal. it’s almost cheery in nature if you just listen to the beat, but the lyrics dig a lot deeper into how gyu feels as an idol.

he doesn’t have many friends to begin with, but that doesn’t stop people from approaching him and wanting to be “friends” which he just sees as a business transaction. because for the most part, he’s kept to himself. yet, doesn’t see why that would make people want to be his friend aside from the ‘he’s in knight’ factor

so it’s his fuck you song where he tells people to shove it. eat it. because in the end, what he’s left with is that ‘i don’t need you’ attitude. i’d see it more as a defense mechanism because he just doesn’t want to let people in? so he puts on this fake bravado of i don’t need you.

artist is what he calls the thing between ‘i’m on top of the world’ and ‘life’s whatever.’ this song was written with his friend, and mentioned before in past headcanons it was meant to give his npc friend more clout so that his friend could make a living from music

it’s a fun song, a very serious juxtaposition of very different sounds. as a result, at first listen it’s not that good to the ears when you hear it without the lyrics / vocals.

this was the song that was finished the fastest in the span of one night? and after performing it many times on shows, it’s just not his favorite to perform. the styling was not his forte either as bc put this weird outfit that just seemed to not fit with what he envisioned

but he will say, the royalties his friends are getting makes him proud.

omen is another ‘fuck you’ song to the world. it’s meant to be a response to everyone in the underground community who has looked down upon him for being an idol rapper

it’s saying that they’re the ones complaining about him, yet the ones that are trying to be like him. this goes in his top three from this album, and one he begged bc to let him release because at first bc was like ‘idk.. it kinda doesn’t sound as bc as we want.’

however, the result of this song made the underground rappers he was targeting release a diss track? and though he wants to respond to it, it seems unlikely seeing as how he’s still an idol

this one does not get accepted well by knight’s fan base but does drive attention from the underground children

originally, gyu didn’t have anyone in mind for the feature. just knew he wanted a feature, so when the song was given to bc to analyze — they decided to push the “bc family image” between him and jiah (natural blonde line holla). as a result, jiah became the feature 

though gyu wouldn’t admit, the song does become better because of jiah’s vocals.

it’s a story written in the lyrics, autobiography? not really, well kind of. there’s bits and traces of his own life inside the song where discussions about a fight / lapse of communication of the girl picking fights because she hasn’t figured herself out

that frustration? he’s felt it many times in the past with his first love, and that in turn made this song — though, he no longer harbors those frustrated feelings towards her anymore. he just misses her.

this is a more singing rap song, as he wanted to involve as many genres as he could in one album. mainly because it was a hail mary, and he didn’t know when his next opportunity would be? 

the singing rap fit this song well enough, and it becomes a song where he highlights the hopeless romantic in him? he fell for someone who used to be a close friend, and the song was written during the “some” phase, where they were in limbo to the point they didn’t know what they were or a will-they or wont-they dynamic

explains the concept of ‘why we should not be in love’. and mini-memoirs of things he’d do while he was falling into place. though the person and him ended up badly to the point where they don’t talk anymore, gyu still enjoys the song because it teaches him to 1) never act upon feelings and 2) stop writing sad love songs.

take care of you

i’m going to keep this short and simple that this song is the most personal one on his album. the song he loves the most, yet hurts the most to sing. as a result, he doesn’t want to touch it but instead it was released for the person whom it was written about to hear.

the mv was low budget via bc. (gyu doesn’t care. just wants her to hear it).

beautiful

beautiful is another on the sad love song train list, only it’s not so sad. in retrospect, he finds it sad? because he was a lovelorn schmuck when he wrote it — that feeling of love he hasn’t experienced again. and that in turn causes him to cling on?

the piano use is frequent in a majority of the songs but i think it’s most prevalent in this track mainly because it dealt with parts of his past where the person whom it was written about knew about his family ties and he ties starting music to her. 

fun fact: this is the song that suddenly makes fans all ‘look at how romantic haon is.’ and leads to some speculation as to who the girl is (newsflash: it’s not an idol — but his fans don’t know that)

very similar to omen — it has a nice singing portion to the chorus which gyujeong wanted to keep for fluidity of the songs. 

however, despite the easy listening it becomes a song more towards omen and the ‘fuck you all’. only this time it’s a response to when people in the underground community ask if it’s nice living life at the top

idol life isn’t all what it is, and hence how the song came about. wanted to express that life at top is lonely, and that people should not judge based on what’s flashed on tv. however, he doesn’t bet anyone got that since most fans skip over the song (for what he’s been told).

downtown baby

maybe it was all a dream? but this song was inspired by his one night stand in berlin. he basically never indulges in those but there was something enticing about the woman, reminded him of a girl from his past. 

she spurred a week long escapade? where he thought it was in love. but it started as quickly as it ended, and he lost contact with her altogether. in reality, he still debates whether it was a dream, vivid and full or whether it was real. wonders how she does time to time.

the charming point of the song is the easy singalong, and the addicting hook? which he didn’t intend on making that way, but it fell that way when he found himself singing the songs long after recording.

he’d give this song a personal 7/10. high-mid range on his album, but bc loves the outcome bc 1) it feeds into knight bad boy image and 2) it does well

once again this was done with an npc friend in the underground scene. gyujeong wanted something triumphant, and it’s embarrassing but he used to listen to one republic a lot as a kid in boarding school. fell upon their music, and that subconsciously inspired the general beat of the song

the song becomes his ode to how far he’s come, and how the difficulty of an uphill battle lead him here. it’s starts off showing off his material goods and throwing a huge party in the mv, but in the end what becomes is his declaration that he’s the meteor that will break the world

high self-esteem in this song, but it’s really not real. he just felt in that moment weightless because he was with good company, and the vibes were good

the best part about this song is that his friend saved up enough money to buy a car and start producing for other big names. and gyujeong gains secondhand satisfaction from that

meteor was the come up, superstar was the come down back to reality. superstar talks also about a lot of material goods — people always talk about the money knight makes and how nice it must be to live large, etc.

however, gyujeong combats these stereotypes talking about how it’s nice yeah — and he’s this bigshot doing all these things. yet, there’s a cry out for help. 

in retrospect, this is his cry for help where he wants someone. anyone to listen. because the more fame dwells upon him, the more pressures become heightened and he feels more isolated from the world around him

he acknowledges his position and his privilege but still finds life lonely — another song making him wonder if people got the actual meaning of the song.

he’s a fashion terrorist to most people — they consider the way he dresses to be too far off from what most idols wear. yet, he’s never cared about those sort of things because comfort and looking chic is his forte.

as much as he talks about being some gritty underground rappers — let’s not forget, he’s a rich boy born and bread. his family money earlier on had him invested in the looks of prada, burberry, and gucci. yet, when he started cutting his family off and actually became a part of knight, that’s where the shift into his own personal style started.

instagram stories were something that gyujeong had to learn? i would assume when he got his own private account, that was before instagram stories were a thing — so, at first, he rarely used it. he rarely used instagram but in recent years i say, starting 2018 is when he started using it as a real thing.

gyujeong is not someone that has a finsta? at least, i don’t think he made one yet. he uses his real one as his finsta, posting whatever the fuck he wants on his stories and then getting scolded for it later — don’t think now, think later.

most of his stories consist of really obscure things? he’ll take a picture of a corner of a wall because he thought it looked cool, and he’ll post it with some song he’s listening to at the moment and call it a day. 

other times, it’s hella simple and he’ll post whatever ice cream he’s eating at 3am, or random pictures of his cat tokki when she’s not trying to kill him. it’s basically just a show and tell presentation to him.
