Ken was frequent at bars, more so at Starlight than any other thanks to Poppy and her keeping him in whiskey. Despite it being Friday night, despite the crowd of regulars and others that packed in avoid the rain, Ken’s focus was not on them – where people were concerned it never was, no, his attention turned to the patter of drops against the window, acting as white noise to drown out as thoughts churned on their own, of everything and nothing, floating in and out while he nursed his third or maybe fourth drink of the night. His table, although not official nor would it ever be, was the darkest and sound carried the least so naturally Ken claimed it as his own. Yet, somehow, as eyes closed for a moment, the sound footsteps reached him bringing with them a scowl as he turned to face the intruder of peace. 

“If I say no…” he trailed off with a smirk when Hanzo cleared into view but jutted out his chin slightly to the empty chair anyway, “Probably shitty is probably right.” Against all odds and hurdles his own personality, Hanzo didn't turn out to be a great source of irritation, in fact his presence, now and at other times, was welcomed more than others. “Question is, are you willing to tolerate my company?”

The mood around him is crystalline and cozy, with the cobalt sky hanging above and twinkling lights, the music and chatter deafening out the sound of late night rain hazing over the glass panes. Despite the Starlight's best effort, his heart beats angrily against his soul and leaves him feeling imperceptibly bruisedᅳ Not to the touch, on the skin, but somewhere infinitesimal, inside the fundamentals of who he is.

But that's why he's here isn't it? To forget about that unreachable gnawing. So he beelines for the quietest corner, for the nearest face he thinks he might recognize (no matter how hardly), and swoops in. His smirk is barely hanging on the corners of his lips. “Hey,” it comes out rough so he clears it with a throaty sound and then steps closer before retreading his attempt, “want some- probably shitty but maybe better than nothing- company?"

      “Don’t worry, you’re fine now.” Gently, he pries the young child from around his waist with a soft sigh, patting his head gently and ushering him forward toward the expectant parents a short way off. He brushes off the thanks he’s immediately given, shaking his head with a small, hesitant smile. He says ‘anyone else would’ve done the same’, but looking around at the people rushing by, he’s not sure they would have. After all, the rest of the people that couple had come along with had ignored both women’s cries for help in retrieving their son. Only Akira, ushering others along ahead of the shambling masses, had so much as considered going back.             He doesn’t regret it, but he’s certainly tired from it, pausing against a lamppost as more people run by, eager to escape to places they believe are ‘safe’. In truth, he’s not sure that can really apply to any place in the city at the moment, though some are certainly more suited for surviving the current crisis than others. He can only hope more people aren’t injured before the night is through, though he knows even that is a vain hope.            His eyes fall on someone nearby, aloof and detached, watching a couple of people talk about getting someplace safely. The expression on his face is judgmental, and Akira presses his lips tightly together before straightening, hands in pockets and expression neutral. He doesn’t intend to be unpleasant, but his voice still has a slightly sardonic bite to it as he addresses the other man. He’s really not a fan of people who just look down on others without needing to, even if he doesn’t know the circumstances as to why.

the last hanzo had checked, he was in austra. he was unsure, though, because the languages that plastered on the signs was unreadable for him. unfortunately for him, he was in a relatively open area. if he encountered someone who had tried to kill him, he’s unsure how well he’d be able to defend himself.

being on the run had never been a fun experience. paranoia was awful, and caused him to be suspicious of everyone around him. there was a sense of hurt that came with the fact the shimadas wanted him dead to the point they continuously sent assassins after him, but he also knew that he should know his own family better. with his hands in the pockets of his hoodie, he strolls with his bow slung around his shoulders. his dragons stirred suddenly, and he felt a presence. his eyes darted around the area, finding the source of the strange feeling.

of course, he was able to hear assassins with relative ease, but this was different. it was familiar, but he couldn’t quite place it. he ducked his head, and sped up his pace.

hanzo kept his steps as muted as possible, listening for another set of footsteps following after him. if he could get out of here fast enough, maybe he would be safe.

hanzo is a naturally protective person when it comes to the people he loves most but you…. oh lord 🧍🏾‍♀️ this man is abnormally protective towards you because of your shyness and your build

hanzo worries a lot about you whenever he’s gone on missions/working. he worries that something were to happen to you and you can’t fight for yourself if something does happen. which is why he has someone he trusts enough to watch you while he is gone

your shyness is what kinda attracted him to you tbh. he likes how shy you are sometimes but he always dislikes it since you can’t really talk to people a lot or else you get really nervous and fidget a lot. he likes to try and help you talk to more people, he will also talk for you sometimes also, yes he’s the type to walk into mcdonald’s like “excuse but, they asked for no pickles” while you’re just behind him trying so hard to make yourself unnoticeable

hanzo is like 6’2 (according to the interweb) and if you’re below 5’8 (like me 🥹) you’re tiny compared to him. and he likes that size difference tbh, it gives him more of a reason to do more things for you. he likes to lightly tease you by holding his arm up with the thing you asked him to get from the top shelf, if you get upset he’ll quickly give it to you and apologise while still lightly teasing you

kuai is also like Hanzo, he will speak for you whenever you don’t want to tho he isn’t as hard on you to start speaking more to others. he understands how hard it can be to speak to other people you don’t know. he was nervous when he started talking to you. he will try to help you speak more but won’t force you. will still tell someone if they got your order wrong 🧍🏾‍♀️

you being smol means he can pick you up and him being able to pick you means you’re not safe — EVER. any opportunity he gets he picks you up and kinda just holds you or lays down with you ontop of him and relaxes like that. if you tell him you don’t like being picked up that’s okay! he’ll hold your hand or tease you because of your height. like i said. you’re. not. safe. especially with a tall mf like him

Random Overwatch Fact #001

There was a character the game developers wanted in the game, but she was overpowered. In order to balance her out, they broke her down into 4 characters: Hanzo, Genji (they were separated even more than the initial breaking down of the characters), Sombra and Moira. 

She was a speedy stealth character, which all of them seem to emulate. She was also supposed to have shuriken-like weapons, similar to Genji.

When the characters were initially broken down, there were 3 characters made from this: Genji, Moira, and Sombra. Genji was made to have a bow and a sword, which proved to be a little overpowered. This caused the team to break them down even further into Genji - a shuriken-weilding, sword-using ninja - and Hanzo - a bow-wielding brother of Genji.

Favorite character: Kitana, hands down. She was my main since MKII, and I kinda related to her. 

Least Favorite character: Kronika. She sucks as a boss. She is boring, plain and cheap, Shinnok is ten times a better villain than Kronika will ever be.

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): 

Taleena (Tanya x Mileena), Kuaitana (Kuai Liang x Kitana), JadeLao (Jade x Kung Lao), CageBlade (Johnny x Sonya), Bireena (Bi-Han x Sareena).

Character I find most attractive: As for women, MKX!Tanya is hottest girl I have ever seen in Mortal Kombat. As for men, MK11!Kuai Liang is the most attractive man ever.

Character I would marry: Johnny Cage. He may be a jerk sometimes but I see why Sonya married him and I can’t blame her. 

Character I would be best friends with: Kung Lao. It would be a real fun to have a wit battles with.

a random thought: I don’t care what everyone says, but alongside with Nintendo, Pokemon and the WWF (back in the day during the end of the nineties), Mortal Kombat was my childhood. Later I liked other fighting franchises as Street Fighter or Killer Instinct, but never with the same intensity which I loved Mortal Kombat. Maybe is for that reason that certain retcons saddens me.

An unpopular opinion: I don’t know how much of umpopular opinion is this, but I don’t find that the guest characters are a good idea, even if I understand the financial gain behind it. I look at both Joker and Terminator slots and kinda saddens me the fact that Havik, Mileena or Reptile could have been in MK11 roster instead of them.

My Canon OTP: Taleena. Even if it’s safe to assume that is nothing but a fling and that there is more sexual attraction than real feelings between them, I will forever ship Mileena and Tanya in a romantically way.

My Non-canon OTP: Kuaitana. No, I don’t ship Kitana with Kuai because they wear blue and are assassins. I ship them because they have a lot in common:

Both were literally raised to be assassins and became honorable warriors for good causes, like saving Earthrealm and aiding to defeat Shao Kahn. 

In their transitions, both rebelled for freedom. In the old timeline, Kuai rebelled hinself from the Lin Kuei, so they wouldn’t turn him to a robot like Smoke. Kitana rebelled herself from Shao Kahn after she discovered her real origins and Kahn’s deception regarding Mileena’s existence.

It was literally confirmed that for being a Cryomancer, Kuai has edenian ancestry even if he was born and raised in Earthrealm.

Both have to deal with a brother/sister who went or is still nuts (Noob and Mileena).

Most Badass Character: Kitana, Kitana and Kitana. ¿Who dares to ditch Shao Kahn and lives to tell it?. None than the Princess of Edenia.

Most Epic Villain: The most obvious answer in terms of popularity would be Shao Kahn. But in my eyes, my choice is Shang Tsung. While Onaga and Shao Kahn are kind of brutes, Shang has the same means that also made other characters like Palpatine or Voldemort to be formidable villains: a scheming brain and cold blood.

Pairing I am not a fan of: 

Kotal x Jade. I despise it, because Kotal is a total piece of shit in my eyes and I headcanon him as possessive, jealous and liar type of man (one of his intros with D’Vorah kinda hints the last when she implies that she bedded him). Jade can do waaaaaaay better than him. She does not deserve a supremacist git whose idea of a “uNiTeD oUtWoRlD” means the slavery of Edenia.

Liu x Kitana: is not that I don’t like them, but I was never fond of them together. Is the same feeling I also get from Baraka x Mileena.

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Sindel and Mileena. The first was supposed to be a caring mother who tries to deal with her dark past as Kahn’s consort and not the golddigger that NRS gave us. The second was supposed to be Kitana’s evil twin who grew up with her and later hated her by irrational motives, thanks to NRS now, Mileena is a childlike experiment from Shang Tsung’s laboratory Flesh Pits.

Favourite Friendship: Kitana/Jade, Liu/Kung and Smoke/Kuai. Personally, I like when positive and healthy friendships are portrayed in media and despite of being known by being gory and violent, Mortal Kombat has plenty of healthy friendships.

Character I most identify with: Jade.

Character I wish I could be: Kitana.

When I started shipping them: Long ago, when I discovered that I didn’t liked Liutana at all. I respect all ships, but Liutana is not my thing so I started to ship Kuai and Kitana since the days of MK9, later I found fanfictions/fanarts of them together which fueled my ship. 

My thoughts: I love them and canon or not, I will ship them forever. As I explained earlier, they have a lot in common and I don’t ship them just because they wear blue.

What makes me happy about them: The fact they have a lot of things in common so I can ship them freely.

What makes me sad about them: Nothing at all. 

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: When Kitana is depicted as a Mary Sue or a lady-in-distress. If there’s a thing that I love from her, is the fact that she has a lot of shortcomings and is not a perfect human being.

Things I look for in fanfic: A lot of fluffy. This may be cheesy, but I love Kuaitana fluffy fics. Neither am bothered by NSFW (or lemons if you want) fics as long as they are well written.

My wishlist: Not going to lie, but I don’t have one at all.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: While I know that my ship is not canon, I’m not totally repulsed to Liutana, Liu is a cool guy who cares about Kitana after all. Just merely not my cup of tea. And if Kuai ends with Hanzo in canon, I will be okay.

My happily ever after for them: With Kitana ruling a free Edenia as Queen alongside Kuai as a Prince Consort while he reconnects with his edenian roots.

How I feel about this character: About Kitana, she is not only my main since MKII and my favorite character of this fandom, she was the first female hero that I truly liked. Words cannot describe how much I love her. Her story is one of the most epic in the Mortal Kombat universe. After she discovers Kahn’s betrayal she stands up against him by doing what she thinks is the correct thing to do. 

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: I have shipped her with Jade at some point in the past and Kuai Liang. But Kuaitana will be always my very first ship regarding Kitana.

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Her friendship with Jade. I love when positive female friendships are depicted in media. My favorite moment of them will be when Jade in MK9 literally defects from Shao Kahn after she witnesses Kitana being arrested after she discovers Mileena’s existence and the deception related from Kahn’s part.

My unpopular opinion about this character: Even if I like the idea of Kitana defeating Shao Kahn (after the hell she endured for his cause, he had it coming. He deserved to be humlliated by Kitana), I’m not fond of the idea of NRS of ditching her Edenian identity and making her Kahnum of Outworld. I will be forever positive to the idea of a free Edenia from Outworld ruled firstly by Sindel and later by Kitana after she inherits the throne from Sindel at some point.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: That her edenian identity were acknowledged by freeing Edenia when she killed Shao Kahn during MK11, and helping Sindel to rule her realm as a warrior princess with Jade or Ermac’s aid.

Favorite friendship for this character: Like I said before, Jade will be always Kitana’s best friend.

My crossover ship: I don’t have an oficial crossover ship for Kitana. But for some weird reason, I’m kind of open to ship her with Cammy or Rose from Street Fighter.

when I started shipping it if I did: I’ve been shipping these two for about a year now. It’s a funny story actually, Mei and McCree used to be my BROTP because I loved their one interaction, and because I used to be more into Mc//Hanzo at the time, but then one day I was like:

Me: Haha, what if I made Mei and McCree kiss?

Me:

Me: …Oh god, what IF I made them kiss?

And thus, here I am, in rarepair hell. 

my thoughts: Hnnngghh it’s such a wholesome ship, I wish it was more popular. I also try to do my best to portray them on equal ground when I write them, because I don’t want to fall into the trap of, “Pure nice girl and troubled man fall in love and she changes him VuV”. Because yuck, I hate that trope, and also because I think Mei is a much more complicated character than “the sweet nice girl who is cute”. Plus, McCree’s got his issues, but he’s not an asshole, and he’s smart enough to know that HE needs to be the one to make change in his life, and not depend on someone else to make him change. I try to make it clear that their attraction to each other is beyond physical too. They both love how smart the other is, McCree loves Mei’s optimism and determination, and Mei loves McCree’s compassion for others and his commitment to doing what he thinks is right. 

What makes me happy about them: Because their names both start with “M” they are ALWAYS next to each other on promotional stuff hehehehehe. 

What makes me sad about them: There’s not enough content for them. 

things done in fanfic that annoys me: Meicree doesn’t really HAVE a lot of fics so I don’t have much to say here. And this is probably the asexual part of me talking, but I want to read more fluff and less smut with these two. -u-;;;;

things I look for in fanfic: CUDDLES. Also an acknowledgement that Mei and McCree are both complicated people. 

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: McCree and Genji are very cute! As for Mei, I am perfectly okay with her being with Mercy, Pharah, Symmetra, or heck, even if she just stays single, that’s good too!

My happily ever after for them: They’re both adventurous people, so I don’t imagine them settling down someplace. After the conflict with Talon is over and the world’s in a better place, I like to imagine that Mei travels around the world to continue her work, and McCree goes with her, starting up his own blog and memoirs under the “Joel Morricone” alias again.
