Just remembered a story I read somewhere that Wang Junkai was scouted because Li Fei heard him singing in the stairwell of his elementary school, which is a very random way to be scouted and I don't think SDFJ scouts talents this way anymore? seems to me like it's all formal auditions (🤍)

there's an old interview of him saying scouts came to the school but he was tying his shoe lace, they didn't see him the first time, then when they caught him when he was coming out of the bathroom and took a picture lmao.

no they def don't. most of the 4gen right now auditioned/signed up by themselves. (zuo qian, zhang hanrui , yang bowen etc)
