quick minor question, but how is Hanne Lorre's (Elluka's alias in Gift) name pronounced? Is it Han (Ham, but like, with the n) or Ha-ne (like, Han then ey) for Hanne while Lorre being like Lore or Loh-ray. Just a minor question cuz Idk where to find the kanji/katakana for it without needing the physical copy ;-;

It's a little between Han-ey and Han-eh. Similarly, lorre is like "Lo-ray"/"Lo-reh". The Japanese is "Hanne Ro-re". Hannelore is a real German name, although I don't know if it's a real name broken up the way mothy has it.

As a bonus note--Hanne is Japanese internetspeak for "Handle name", meaning the online handle someone uses in place of their real name on the internet. I assume this was a deliberate reference on mothy's part.

(Okay so uhm. My ramblings got too long for a reply lol)

@hanne-lorre so that's where the 528 number came from. I always assumed that was the founding of levianta?? Like tbh it just made sense to me that like. Yeah there were six queens before Irina so assuming that the Senate would try their hardest to keep the current queen alive (Senate head would prefer to keep the seat within their family methinks) that lines up pretty well with the 528 number. Which then left an unknown amount of time between the crash of climb one and the start of excavating in that area specifically. And then consider how long it took between setting up a city in excavation area and founding a whole entire kingdom??? Plus the name Levianta is referencing Leviathan, which in turn connects to Levia, so I assumed the founding of Levin would've had to coincide with the founding of the kingdom, and tbh idk where I'm going with this Levin thing I guess I just want to say that oopsie I over thought Evillious stuff when there was an answer available already (<-guy who forgot where the 528 number came from)

So please correct me if I'm wrong but did we ever get the amount of time it took between the climb one landing on earth and the founding of magic kingdom levianta?? Like iirc mkl was founded in 528 BT???? and like considering the amount of time between the founding and the project MA, and then like if humans started from fucking idk hunter gatherer type shit before they started excavating legacy pieces, they were in the Ark for a long time

bdjzhsjx its not. actually that much? but i think evillious has like. a Thing about children killing the things that came before them

this was something i first noticed in creation girl gretel- im typing down what i remember of the lyrics in the psysoubi english cover rn, but i think the actual lyrics were similar. gretel said something about "at some point, the day will come where what they give birth to will kill them as well in turn", and it got the little perception creature in my brain to wake up

because it reminded me of something, and something i liked a lot- this one weird little line in capriccio farce that always put in mind the image in my head of a little toddler child leaving its parents behind as it walked forward. paraphrasing here, but in the second part of the first chorus (?), there was a bit about "this story has already let go of both demons' and gods' hands, and now it walks alone"

like. it keeps making me think yknow? the demons and the gods created this story, birthed it if you will, and it let go of their hands and walks alone like a child their parents. which is a HELL of a thing to reference in a GRETEL song, a girl whos three for three on killing her parents and who is the girl of CREATION, yknow?

so like. i kind of started thinking on it

evillious has like. a Thing about parents and children. the thing that created you and the creation that grows into itself, usually at the parents' detriment. eve and adam are the first to come to mind, with gretel and hansel killing them and starting just the whole seven deadly sins arc. banica choosing to kill and eat herself rather than kill her child even if it would have saved her. allen killing his adoptive father as one of the things to really make it sink in how riliane's choices are destroying everything good in the palace. douji killing kayo himself because he was the only one who could kill his mother and put an end to the fear she caused people (<- emotional abt this one). just nemesis and gallerian and ma's Whole Thing. when children kill their parents in some way, its a herald for something new coming.

and like!! you can SEE the continuation of this whole thing even up to the seven crimes and punishments arc. arguably its an attempt to save their mother that fucks up neo adam and eve, and their attempt to preserve their parent gets them stuck in the same endless loop of the third period. in contrast, the two pairs who truly enter new worlds- hansel and gretel and riliane and allen, the four twins of god- do so by leaving behind what their parents had created. letting go of the hands of demons and gods and choosing their own new existences.

theres also like. when "parents" are good, they often remove themselves from the picture so their children can have their own lives. earliest example i can think of is banica, but listen. rather than the existing master of the heavenly yard creating the fourth period, it was the Irregulars he allowed to fight and live again and thrive in the world. it was riliane and allen, throwing aside the world that existed before them and replacing it with a new one where people got a second chance.

anyway yeah thats the thoughts. also it still kills me that gretel is three for three on killing her parents??? girl i think you took that implication a bit too literally. please stop killing your moms

edit: FUCK I FORGOT THE GIFT NOVEL. OKAY. SO. THERES A BIT IN THE GIFT NOVEL WHERE LIKE. levia-as-elluka-as-hanne-lorre sees that the people have managed to synthesize something to help them fight the gift poison using nothing but the current modern technology and like. iirc she thinks on it and realizes how much humanity has grown, to be able to fight something that was so dangerous in the magic kingdom levianta and only do it with something they made without magic, with their own science and their own hands

and that, for me, is the moment i knew the theme was real. the moment that the child let go of god's hands and began to walk alone, a moment witnessed by the god of human souls. im so normal about this

but yeah!!! i recently read the enbizaka novel and it destroyed me. kokutan-douji and kayo's relationship was just really good?? i havent read scap yet but when i can i hope allen and kayo get a reunion. i know its almost certainly not happening but a guy can pray yknow?

it was a very very good scene and doujis grief was real there. it ESPECIALLY hurt that he was talking to someone who loved kayo too, and one of the people that she lost and wanted to replace, but also mostly just. even if it was a false family and they both knew it they made it real because they both wanted family that they'd lost and over time grew to genuinely love being with each other and working with each other. im still physically assaulted by the fact douji killed her because he thought she was scared because she didn't know what was happening and he wanted to save her from that. hes having the WORST day of his life rn

i know gakuga didnt have context when he said douji was lying and raced off to find the woman douji had killed right after but also i wanted to throttle him the moment that happened. bro this literal child just confessed to you that he was mourning the mother he himself beheaded and you immediately think the childs fucking with you when he says her name? at least be respectful with your immediate doubt

also god DAMN it douji do i have to add you to the list of adoptive children portrayed by the kagamines killing their parents?? theres ALREADY too many of you with hansel and gretel running around please we can't have more

also also i feel like its another example of evillious's continued cycle of children ending their parents who've committed some grave sin and the way that parallels with the way the world of the third period really got away from its creators and essentially cast them aside as portrayed in the gift novel and capriccio farce and the way this is portrayed as creating a new world- [is dragged bodily off stage]
