HANGCLONE i've literally never considered this but i'm so intrigued!! what's their dynamic like, what's going on with them, how do they get together? looking forward to that art 🖼️ and have a nice day!!

oh boy i have so many thoughts for them and none are coherent rn lolll but god I just have fallen head over heels for the ship. I'm just gonna word vomit okay?

something like, beau was the top gun instructor of Jake's year and he immediately had a soft spot for him, knew that he'd go far. he didn't see him again in person until the uranium mission and they were both so stressed that they didn't really get to talk much. Beau had to reem Jake out for infighting, and it was the most they'd spoken in years. beau saying something like "you're acting self sacrificing because you don't think you've got what it takes but you don't want it to be your fault that you fail." and just really digs into him and sees right through him and jake doesn't know how to react to any of it, doesn't know how to handle being seen so thoroughly. during the mission, I have it in my head that mav wanted coyote as dagger spare but cyclone pulled rank and got hangman the spare position, knowing that he would want to prove himself more than anything and wouldn't fuck it up. then we cut to post mission and beau apologises for what he said, that he was in the wrong and he actually thinks quite highly of jake. but jake brushes him off, sorta "no, no. you were right."

idk they give me like, slow burn vibes? jake enjoying being seen, not having to hide himself. beau has a soft spot for him and it just grows and grows and he doesn't know what to do about it. they kiss and like everything changes between them.

i've got 10k written of a hardcore smut fic for them that I'm not even half way through hahaha its pretty much that above but sexual, something something beau being jake's dom and giving jake absolutely anything he needs because jake needs someone to take some of his control away and help him sort out the cyclone (pun intended) that's raging in his head. jake is very wet meow meow in it. its a lot of pain play and cbt with plot and fluff and humour in it. also like, jake having had only bad experiences with doms so when beau focussed on aftercare and checking in on him constantly to make sure he's okay, jake is like,,,, enamoured by him haha

idk man idk if this made any sense but I have a lot of thoughts on them, I love them so much, I will draw art very soon probably ahahah I just feel like they work so well together.

It’s a hard pick I defently enjoyed the first one and how they displayed the character but I feel like they lost a big chance on how they could have gone into depth of how Goose death effected everyone. I do throughly the enjoy it.

The second movie was a little more cuddled and over dramatic but I loved it all the same. The second holds most of my favourite characters in it so I’m going to have to go with the second as it has my two babies in it. Beau and Bob.

I have to say my favourite gay ships are: Hangclone, MavClone, Hangster, Floydsin, HangMav.

I loved the scene where Bradley and Mav get shot down and the camera spans out and switched to Jake in the jet, the pure devastation and disbelief on his face. It made the scene so well.

I have to say I have an odd favourite line mainly because I feel like they could have explored it a little more with the snarkiness .

I think we all enjoyed the beach scene, I enjoyed the moment of pure surprise of Bobs face when he catches the ball and well as the moment Beau arrives and just watched them. Letting them relax and play instead of calling them all back to base like he should have.

A Hangclone omegaverse au WOULD HIT. I’ve had so many thoughts about those two but put them into an A/B/O dynamic and it’s even better. Like could you imagine prickly omega hangman going against his dynamic to try and court older alpha Cyclone. Cyclone would be head over heels but at the beginning he’d be super insecure because he knows jake could do better with someone younger and who isn’t a divorcee then he and Jake make it official and maybe they get a surprise little one on the way and Cyclone is super cocky about it. Or maybe its cocky alpha hangman trying to court older omega Cyclone. Maybe cyclone already has a pup or two from a previous mating and doesn’t want anymore and he cannot understand why for the life of him an Alpha like Hangman would want to be with him when he’s significantly older, already has kids with another alpha and doesn’t want anymore and addicted to his job.

Yessssss you understand the vision!!!

Theres a lot of variations in my mind:

I think about omega!jake who had to push his omega-ness aside to get to where he is in the military cause of like, stigma or smth. He tries to just come across as a beta or even an alpha if hes lucky. He's never really gotten to indulge in omegan things. But then beau is taking a liking to him and jake feels safe and slowly leaves hints that hes more omegan than anyone suspected. Beau taking it all in stride and giving jake everything he needs to be able to really indulge. Helping him nest properly for the first time and letting him be vulnerable and put his guard down.

I also imagine omega!jake getting injured and maybe its before they get together but alpha!beau is so keyed up and flooded with adrenaline, hes pacing outside jake's hospital room cause the omega hes attached to is hurt but he doesnt know he jake wants him in there or not. So hes growling at people that walk past, almost not letting nurses in, he doesnt sleep a wink, hes so scattered and anxious and running on instincts. When jake finally wakes up he just smells protective alpha and gets this warm feeling of "safe".

And yeah, god, omega!cyclone with kids is so good. Maybe since he already had some and hes older he doesnt want anymore and hes scared that jake would be mad but turns out jake doesnt really care one way or the other about pups, he just wants beau. And honestly? If he doesnt need to share him thats a plus

I ALSO think about alpha/alpha hangclone. Like not only do they have the age gap and the rank gap, but now they have to battle the stigma of two alphas being together. Learning to work with one another and give each other what they need without being overbearing or doing it the wrong way.

Theres just so much potential and i am so fucking soft for them

ok you’ve got me thinking about hangclone now, never thought of it before but now i have to know LMAO. how do you think they handle being in very different ranks and in the context of the dagger squad becoming a permanent fixture in nevada (or wherever they are idek haha) (or however they are stationed in your fic) and cyclone being a senior officer with hangman under his command more or less?

i always think about this with icemav but obviously there’s next to no age gap, only rank and not always in direct links with each outer with mav being off at dark star.

regardless of if the ship is my fave or not i LOVE character dynamics and this one is a doozy for interesting dynamics haha so i love hearing your thoughts about it!

in my fic its kind of like, immediately post mission, so they're on leave for a couple months and relatively safe from prying eyes. beau has done this sort of arrangement a few times in the past, one with another guy in the navy so he knows how to keep it all on the downlow and separate the whole idea of them being superior and subordinate and the rank gap etc etc but jake is PANICKING after a few days loll like that's his admiral??? hows he supposed to handle this??? and he cant even talk to JAVY about it all like oh god he's fucked. but beau is super nice and helping him work through it all, offering him outs and no strings attached, reassuring him that their dynamic outside of work wont influence them at work, that jake's achievements will be his own and not a result of favouritism etc y'know?

I've also got this whole scene in my head off jake showing up at beau's house cause he's kind of a wreck and needs beau to help calm him down but beau's got his kids over for dinner (a boy and a girl, both in their mid 20s) and jake just, feels like he's intruding, he honestly didn't realise beau had been married or had kids. but beau offers him a seat at the table, offers him a plate of dinner, offers his attention and comfort and jake latches onto it all. he feels awkward at dinner, making small conversation with the kids. he helps wash up after dinner and the kids head home that night, they have work in the morning, but jake can't quite manage to leave, so beau offers him a place in his bed as well, holding him close and jake has never slept so well.

i just,,, raaaaa theres so much to them, they're so complex. two people at two very different points in their lives just sorta,, coming together and realising they work. they REALLY work. and its nice, and they're happy, and their jobs be damned, they'll make this happen

I agree so hard with you about the picture of young, sweet Jake being pre Bradley crushing his heart and giving him trust issues. Imagine someone who knew him pre-break up meeting him again during the detachment, and not recognizing him at all. And the Daggers (minus Javy, he already knew -> BFFs4L) finding that photo and realizing that Bradley was the reason they now deal with angry (scared and distrustful) Jake. 😭😭 babyJake!

You get me so much dude, they make me wanna hurl myself off a cliff. I'm big on Cyclone being a constant in Jake's life (either as a father figure or in a hangclone context cause I love that too lmao but for this instance we'll say father figure) and he knew Jake in flight school and was his instructor at Top Gun and then was airboss for the detatchment and he has just seen jake go from this happy, ready for anything, deeply in love 18 year old, to this bitter, angry, untrusting 20-something who will snap and fight and argue at everything, to who he has had to become today as 30-something, guarded and operates behind a persona so no one can actually hurt him, and doesnt trust anyone enough to fly with them. Cyclone realising, after he sees how jake interacts with bradley, that yes, he is the cause of their loss of the sweet, helpful, reliable jake seresin he first met at flight school. And if cyclone is a little short and blunt with bradley from then on, thats no ones business but his (he thinks of jake as a son)
