2023 has come to a close so that means it's time for my year in review! i've been a gif maker on tumblr for more than two years now and this account keeps growing and getting so much love. im so grateful for all of my (jong)homies and mutuals that have let me get to this point and have fun along with it. like, i hit 1k and 2k followers in the same year! thats fucking rad!
i giffed a lot more this year than last and i think it's because i was finally able to get ps and vapoursynth near the end of 2022. my confidence soared as a result. not to get mushy, but this year on tumblr has been amazing because of that. :( this was the first full year i felt like a "real" and "competent" gif maker because i finally was using the tools that everyone else was using and i knew how to use them. thats a big thing for me, because for so long i struggled with figuring out how to download vs (and ps) (on mac btw) and i felt jealous that everyone else could do it so "easily." ps and vs are also really unintuitive if you dont know what youre doing so to basically brute force my way to success is something i want to pat myself on the back for. i did this. im insane. and now ive been properly expressing my insanity via gifs for over a year now that ive been so proud of! yippie!!!! as a result of my Trials and Tribulations, ive been thinking about creating tutorials for how to download ps, vs, and how to properly use ps to make gifs for those that dont even know where to begin now that i am a Seasoned user. bc i fucking get it. let me lend a hand.
but anyway.
some highights of this year that are worth mentioning:
i hit 1k followers in january! heres my 1k followers event posts
i hit 2k followers (!!!!!) in november!!!!!! heres my 2k followers event posts (so far)
i dabbled in combining ateez x (usually) alt/metal/rock songs now that i am a Confident and Certified Alternative Lady. here are those gif sets
still insane for jongho. also happy one year to biasing hongjoong. also happy almost three years of being an atiny.
i learned some new coloring tricks. i learned some new sharpening tricks. slayage all around!
below the cut are my most popular and my personal fav posts from each month this year as well as the total number of gif posts made each month!
tagging mutuals to view and to also do their own 2023 year in review (only if u want! absolutely no pressure ❤️): @yunwooz @hwanswerland @miinsang @booskwan @wifehwa

[Image description: Preview panel for the comic strip at the link below. Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace talk as Anakin handstands and Obi-Wan looks on. Anakin is saying, "I didn't know before I lived on Coruscant how common a surname Kenobi is in the Republic." Obi-Wan is saying, "It is that." Unfortunately there are not image descriptions at the main Hero Of Three Faces site. End description.]
The Hero of Three Faces is fanfiction crossovers, but it’s comic strips with stick figures, but they’re triangles. Preview panel only. Click here for full cartoon. Or see the on-site navigation tutorial. Or see this blog’s FAQ, or my archive tumblog’s FAQ. Cartoons may contain unmarked spoilers. Cartoons linked from Tumblr 10:00 (Central US time) daily are the previous day’s new update and the posts are pinned to the top of this blog. Cartoons linked from Tumblr 22:00 daily are from the archive and the posts are pinned only during annual summer hiatus of new updates.
Thanks for reading.

One day I decided that I want to know how to do a handstand. Just a fun random athletic skill. I started watching youtube tutorials, practicing. But still was scared and didn't really had a plan or knowledge about technics.
Until one day I found Natalie's channel. She has a 30 days course about handstand. And it was perfect! This is exactly for people, who barely do sports. Natalie is so gentle, she explains everything, shows easy exercises and her videos are perfect duration to not to drop it on the half.
So, I did the course. And... I made it! I can do a handstand now! Yes, only with a wall, but still, not everyone can say they can do even that. It's so much fun C:
If you ever wanted to finally start doing some sports and never knew where to start, try this. Natalie is such a great teacher. Also you may find my comments on some videos, hehe
Give it a try c:

MR artwork review
Have you ever wondered what it's like being on a spaceship in outer space? Did you ever want to experience it? I always wanted to be an astronaut when I was younger, like some of us did. I even had a poster of a list of astronauts that a family member gave to me and my sister. This VR experience helped me realize my childhood dream a bit by experiencing being an astronaut.
Inspired by the real-life experiences of astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti from the European Space Agency (ESA), this VR tour provides an insider's view of life aboard the ISS. Through detailed visuals and informative narration, users are guided through the inner workings of the space station, uncovering over 40 key areas that serve as living quarters and a science laboratory for an international crew of astronauts and cosmonauts.
"International Space Station Tour VR" gives us the chance to experience what it's like being on a spaceship, with some information and lessons scattered around in videos about some basic knowledge about what's around us in the spaceship. For example, how do they make their food ready? What's the process like? Did you know that they have to add water to their food to be able to eat it? How do they do CPR in the spaceship while not being able to stand on solid ground because of no gravity around? They float in a handstand while giving the CPR. They have certain things they do differently than any other human on Earth. Obviously, there's no gravity while you're in this VR, and you get the feeling like you're floating around. What it's like living in a place with no gravity is so cool. Live a day in the life of astronauts in that spaceship for years; it almost feels like you're breathing the same air as them, flying around and watching some tutorial videos on details about the spaceship, moving from section to section. Sadly, I couldn't get out of the spaceship to experience space itself. It helps us understand the technology of the spaceship and science.
The VR added to the experience that you get to almost feel what it's like floating in space with no gravity, feeling like a real-life astronaut. It made me feel so happy because that's the closest thing it will get for me to experience a spaceship and live life like an astronaut. Time feels like it's paused in outer space; you don't feel like it's actually passing, not like on Earth. It feels like a dream, not real. What's successful is how accurately it portrays the life of an astronaut with a bunch of technical things around in the spaceship that a normal human can't understand.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong Review (Nintendo Switch OLED)
Mario vs. Donkey Kong Review, The toys are back in town in Mario vs. Donkey Kong on Nintendo Switch! Solve puzzles and test your platforming smarts as you try to recover the stolen Mini-Marios. This remake of the Game Boy Advance game features all-new graphics, levels, and other new ways to play.
Mario vs. Donkey Kong Review Pros:
- Decent bright graphics. - 1.3GB download size. - 3 save slots. - Puzzle gameplay. - There are two game difficulties - casual and classic. (can be changed whenever you want in the menu) - Tutorial signs to hit in level and a guide menu that houses them for reference. - Each world has six levels, a toy Mario level and then a Donkey Kong boss fight. - In levels, you collect presents and rescue the toy Mario's. The Toy Mario level is like a Lemmings game in that you can't control them but they follow you, and depending on how many Toy Mario you get through the level depends on how many you have with you in the Donkey Kong fight. - Bonus levels can spawn where you get 30 seconds to capture the flying key. - Extra lives can be found in the level and the bonus levels. - Unlock cutscenes from playing and rewatch them in the gallery. - Solid tight controls. - Mario has a lot of moves from handstands, double jumps, and cartwheels. - You can pick up enemies and items to throw around. - The goal of each level is to get a key and unlock the door. - Two players drop in and out local co-op. - Every world has a theme that changes the mechanics and enemies you encounter. - Levels generally have colored blocks and switches, clicking one has that color appear or disappear. - Has a few nods to other games. - You can replay levels. - Mario flags can be hit and act as a respawn point. - The classic mode is a straight-up one-hit death whereas casual has a life bar so you can take many hits before a game is over. - Pick up power-ups to help like the hammer from the original Donkey Kong game. - The key you get can be dropped but has a 15-second timer before it resets and when holding it you can only move and jump. - Has a lot of charm. - Nice soundtrack. - Good puzzle brain workout. - Bite-sized levels. - Finishing a level is satisfying. - The toy Mario levels are some of the best in the game. Mario vs. Donkey Kong Review Cons: - It all feels flat like the story and levels don't feel connected in any way. - Every world does the same layout every time. - Doesn't offer mechanics like rewind or fast forward. - The pacing of levels is up and down. - Little replay value. - Using ropes takes some time, especially when leaning out from the rope. - The jump isn't as good as you would expect. - Cannot rebind controls. - No touchscreen. - Doesn't offer a timer or score-based system. "Mastering Your Body: The Ultimate Guide to Bodyweight Training and Calisthenics"
Bodyweight training and calisthenics have been gaining popularity in recent years as effective and accessible forms of exercise. Unlike traditional weight lifting, bodyweight training and calisthenics rely solely on the weight of the individual's body as resistance. This means that no equipment is necessary, making it a great option for those who want to exercise at home or on the go.
Bodyweight exercises are a great way to improve strength, balance, flexibility, and endurance. They can also help to prevent injuries and promote healthy joints, as they require the use of multiple muscle groups and engage the body in a functional, natural way.
Some of the most popular bodyweight exercises include push-ups, squats, lunges, and planks. These exercises can be modified to suit different fitness levels and can be performed in a variety of settings, including indoors and outdoors.
Calisthenics, on the other hand, involve a more advanced form of bodyweight training that emphasizes strength and skill development. Calisthenic exercises typically involve more dynamic movements, such as handstands, muscle-ups, and human flags, and require a greater degree of strength, coordination, and balance.
One of the key benefits of bodyweight training and calisthenics is that they can be easily modified to increase or decrease the intensity of the workout. This makes them accessible to people of all fitness levels, from beginners to elite athletes.
In addition, bodyweight training and calisthenics can be a fun and creative way to exercise. By exploring different exercises and movements, individuals can challenge themselves in new and exciting ways, and develop a deeper understanding of their body's capabilities.
If you're interested in incorporating bodyweight training and calisthenics into your fitness routine, there are several resources available to help you get started. Online tutorials, mobile apps, and group classes can provide guidance and support, and allow you to connect with others who share your passion for this form of exercise.
In conclusion, bodyweight training and calisthenics are great options for anyone looking to improve their fitness and overall health. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced athlete, there are plenty of exercises and modifications available to help you reach your goals. So why not give it a try and see what you can achieve with just your own bodyweight?
