“ well, we tried. but our ideas... weren’t great. ” granted, mabel had been the one behind every suggestion – but jo tries to lessen the blow with shared blame. she hadn’t really contributed with stellar ideas either, anyway. “ you don’t have to pick a spider-themed name... but it’s just confusing if it has to do with other animals. ” while cute, lady bee did not suit the kind of abilities mabel now had.

looking up from the sleeve she’s sewing ( after mabel had a near deadly encounter with a criminal ), jo studies her friend for a moment. for all that they joke about it, she knows how important this persona is to mabel. she’s noble, in a way that jo doesn’t always know how to voice. not everyone would use their newfound powers to help others – jo certainly wouldn’t burden herself with such a task.

someone as heroic as mabel deserved a proper alias.

“ how about... ” jo starts, humming as she tests out a name on her lips. “ spider... lady? lady spider? ” wow, those sound awful. “ madame spider? widow? ” hearing herself, she realizes how ill-suited the names are for mabel. she could never be associated with something so grim and threatening.

jo laughs, only slightly embarrassed as she returns her attention to her sewing. “ or maybe something less dark. ”

“ we really don’t have time for this. ” despite her protests, mai finds herself sat at a table, across from chrissy. normally, she’d have no trouble standing her ground by the door – but that would only draw more attention to them. chrissy already does enough of that on her own. with the rest of the crew busy, it’s the captain herself who offers to accompany mai on her trip to the nearest town to gather information ( even though she had insisted she’d be fine on her own ). mai’s yet to determine whether that will prove an asset or a hindrance.

“ you know this isn’t a social outing. ” she stirs her tea slowly, eyes scouting the establishment for any suspicious figures. “ so please don’t get distracted chasing a pretty face or a new weapon for our arsenal. ” it wouldn’t be the first time, after all. “ we have to lay low, ” she reminds chrissy as she brings the teacup to her lips. nevermind that she’s asking the impossible from a woman who couldn’t resist the spotlight.

Snailydia (A Bunny Snail Hybrid) First Design Art

I have had many ideas for a furry OC. 

So here's Snailydia, She's bunny with some attributes of a snail, Her tail for example is a literal snail, And her ears have snail belly like properties in them.

Her hair is bright green, To help her camouflage and hide from predators, Her one piece suit is actually her shell, In which she can go in, Partially at least, I haven't planned that part yet lol.

normally she wouldn’t indulge in such outings when there was work to do. elinor could play the part for kings and ambassadors, when there was something to be gained, but more often than not, she preferred to be left to her own devices. still, she imagines she must put on a more extroverted mask for captain sturmhond, social creature by design. simply being aboard the ship did not mean elinor had gained her and the crew’s trust. elinor needed to appear as likable as possible, someone who could enjoy herself alongside the captain.

despite her initial internal protests, elinor has come to learn sturmhond’s company is not as dreadful as she had once believed. everything that woman says is laced with flirtation and charm – and elinor would be lying if she said she didn’t find some part of it amusing.

she supposes spending a night or two with the captain, out on the town or in her quarters, wouldn’t be the worst outcome to this plan.

“ well, lead the way, then. ” elinor’s lips curl into a smile, playful and hiding something more, just like sturmhond’s. she sets her hand atop her arm without missing a beat, daring to take initiative, speaking her language. “ i’m expecting something wondrous after all that talk. ” she quirks a playful brow. “ or you’ll have to make it up to me, captain. ”

...Except he doesn't really sound all that angry about it. More fondly exasperated than anything else. He doesn't wrench his shoulder away from the God either and lets him keep face and teeth tucked against him, only moving enough to deposit his surprise into Morax's waiting hand.

It's a smooth, multi-colored stone that catches the light. When he first saw it, he fancied that it looked a little like the cloudy sky at sunset and purchased it promptly. What can he say? He's a romantic.

"This is the thanks I get, huh?" the Harbinger complains half-heartedly, but his proud smile at his find is irrepressible.
