W H A T S. M Y. N A M E Yesterday I asked you all to guess what this painting is called. I had such a great response so thank you to everyone who took a guess. There were some very very close guesses and some really imaginative and great suggestions…I will definitely be making a note of some of them! Keep your eyes peeled for new work perhaps named from your suggestion. This piece is called “Destructive Waves”. As some of you may know much of my work centres around our environment, how we impact our planet through our movements and behaviours and how this affects our climate. Destructive Waves was made to raise awareness of the erosion caused by the sea on coastal zones and how over the years this has been accelerated by climate change. After reading a paper on “Technologies for Climate Change Adaptation: Coastal Erosion and Flooding” it inspired my to create this piece. (Paper written by Matthew M. Linham & Robert J. It's Sunday, also known as "free day", and I have decided to play with the stones and soil (is soil the word?) from "El Pedroso", YAY! 💕 One of the soil is from my village, and I am so happy, this is the most pigmented one!! Can't wait to see the result of my 100% handmade natural watercolor 🌿🌱🦔. Before mashing all the colors up I wanted to make a swatch to know wich stones are the same or not. I think I am gonna make a video for the process, are you interested? I am beginner with this kind of raw pigments but I think it's gonna be fun 🤗. Have a happy Sunday!! --- ¡Holis! Hoy es domingo y toca día libre, así que he decidido ponerme al fin con las piedras y tierra que cogí en el Pedroso estas navidades para hacer pigmentos. También tengo un cacho de tierra grandote de mi pueblo y es el que más pinta! 💘 Antes de machacar estas piedras (ya me da hasta pena 😂), he hecho estas muestras para averiguar de qué color es cada una, como pinta más o menos y cuales son las mismas (que aveces sólo por la vista engaña). Estoy pensando en hacer un video del proceso. Es la primera vez que hago acuarelas de este tipo, naturales y artesanales 100%. Así que el resultado va a ser toda una sorpresa. Sé que tendrán un carácter especial y tengo mucha curiosidad por ver el resultado. N E W. W O R K S I’m getting all my work ready for #theotherartfairldn It’s not far away now! This is one of my new paintings that I’ll be showing at the fair. It’s a mixture of a blue and black pigment I found on a little beach called Kintra on the Isle of Mull. All my works I’ll be showing will be painted using pigment that I’ve foraged whilst out either in London or Scotland. It isn’t magnetic as a paint but in powder form it’s just like playing with those fun magnetic games you had as a kid!
