W H A T S. M Y. N A M E Yesterday I asked you all to guess what this painting is called. I had such a great response so thank you to everyone who took a guess. There were some very very close guesses and some really imaginative and great suggestions…I will definitely be making a note of some of them! Keep your eyes peeled for new work perhaps named from your suggestion. This piece is called “Destructive Waves”. As some of you may know much of my work centres around our environment, how we impact our planet through our movements and behaviours and how this affects our climate. Destructive Waves was made to raise awareness of the erosion caused by the sea on coastal zones and how over the years this has been accelerated by climate change. After reading a paper on “Technologies for Climate Change Adaptation: Coastal Erosion and Flooding” it inspired my to create this piece. (Paper written by Matthew M. Linham & Robert J. Nicholls) And excerpt from the paper reads; “Sea level rise and more intense storms, waves, and surges due to climate change pose a serious threat to large numbers of people living in these areas [coastal zones].” There has been more talk of this recently in programmes such as A Perfect Planet, Planet Earth and Operation Iceberg if you are interested to find out more check them out or give the paper a read (link in bio) What small things do you do in your daily lives to help protect our planet from climate change? #climatechange #smallthings #bigchange #protectourplanet #destructivewaves #coastalerosion #coastalzones #planetearth #aperfectplanet #operationiceberg #helpsaveourplanet #govegan #doyourbit #londonartist #veganartist #environmentalart #artfortheenvironment #naturalpigment #handmadepigment #londonart #bbciplayer N.B. What’s even more worrying is this paper was written over 10 years ago….has much changed?? (at London, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CKleAc_n-2a/?igshid=1aw579550inwe

Watching the first episode of A Perfect Planet last night, about the role of volcanism in the evolution of life, reminded me of a trip to Lake Bogoria in Kenya, where we can see the same processes going on today. . . #experientialtravel #sirdavidattenborough #aperfectplanet #lakebogoria #kenya (at Lake Bogoria) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPedl4Jg-eV/?utm_medium=tumblr

🦩The Flamingo Saga🦩 - Remember last week I was inspired by the beautiful colours on the new David Attenborough show #aperfectplanet ? I just thought it would be pretty as some kind of fabric pattern that they might have used in the Tang Dynasty. - Who could forget those ugly stalks waiting to eat the babies? 😭 The circle of life is CRAZY! I guess covid is our ugly stalk at the moment picking off stragglers. BOO! - On a lighter note looking forward to the next episode of perfect planet tonight! Who’s watching it with me? . . . . . . #davidattenborough #tangdynasty #flamingos #flamingosaga #natureillustration #circleoflife #drawwhatyousee #historicalart #procreate #procreateart #ipaddigitalart #artistsoninstagram #artoftheday #chineseart #chineseillustration #ipadillustration (at London United Kingdom - UK) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJ37OOEhjeU/?igshid=6f63kufbnp8r

Review: 'A Perfect Planet' Episode 5: 'Humans' brings the whole series together @BBCEarthCanada @BBCEarth #APerfectPlanet @BBC
And so here we are at the end of this series. In previous weeks the series examined the four major systems of our world: Volcanoes, which seed the atmosphere and create the land, The sun, which supplies us with energy, Weather, which delivers water to all life, and Oceans, which carry nutrients to all corners of the world. This last week the series examines a new force exerting an influence on…
