#chronicallyill365 Day #whatever: I thought I'd be getting a bunch of exciting mail this week, but, none of its come yet. I sent in the application for my disabled parking permit renewal in early May, and I still don't have it yet. It's been a MONTH! I've desperately needed it at points over the past month, but I REALLY need it for an event I'm going to tomorrow. If it doesn't magically show up in the mail in the morning, I may not be able to go. Unless someone volunteers to carry me from the abled parking area. But I don't see that happening. My Kate Farms shipment hasn't come yet. I was told Monday that it would be here by Wednesday. Nothing. I called bright and early this morning to see what was going on. Come to find out, my primary care hadn't signed an insurance form. We got that straightened out and I'm crossing my fingers it comes Friday. I feel blah without that nutrition. I'd be pretty pumped if that and my disabled parking permit came tomorrow. Still no word from Medicare about my wheelchair. This week is a month that they've had the prescription for it. I'm holding out hope that it comes tomorrow as well. The wheelchair would have been super awesome to have for tomorrow (see above), and it could have been had the letter of necessity not taken so long. And I'm waiting for some cards from G-PACT. Not as urgent as any of the above, but will be useful to have. The cards are so that I can bring my backpack and nutrition drinks into places. These will be useful for July, but I'm not going anywhere that would require them soon. På tide å oppdatere symbolene rundt om. Fordommer og «angrep» før en rekker komme seg ut av bilen. Noen HCwc har fått annen merking 👍 skulle vært merket på annen måte flere steder. Glad hver dag jeg klare å stå /gå uten hjelpemiddel. Ikke all sykdom vises . Og se gjerne i ruta etter HCbeviset eller «blåskiltet» som han i går kalte det ... Før du anklager eller går til «angrep» . Og bruk i det minste en hyggelig tone. Det har ikke vært bare enkelt å tørre å bruke parkering med alle stygge blikk og «verbale angrep». Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Awareness Month Day 30: Disabled parking placards have no age requirements. They also aren't used solely by people with visible disablilities. I have had mine for about a year now, technically I'm supposed to have a permanent one, but they mixed up and gave me a temporary one, that will be fixed next year. This is seriously an energy saver. Shopping takes a lot out of me, so its nice to be able to get back to the car easily. Its also nice having the extra space via the hashmarks to get myself situated while getting in/out of the car. I used to be afraid to use mine. But I'm not anymore. I deserve to use the space just like any other disabled person, whether you can see my disability or not. Depending on where I am, I can get quite a few dirty looks. I'm lucky that's all I've had to deal with. Some young disabled people have had nasty notes left on their car, or have been verbally attacked. Too many people think that disabled parking is for the older population, not the young one as well. There also isn't enough disabled parking. So many places don't have nearly enough disabled parking spaces. Then there ars the times when non disabled, and disabled, drivers decide to park in the hashmarks, making it nearly impossible for me to get in and out of the car. A lot of people with motorcycles think its a great place for them to park as well. I also run into the issue at stores where thee hashmarks are filled with shopping carts, making it impossible for me to open my door. Disabled parking spaces and the hashmarks next to them is for disabled people. Its for us to have easier access, and to have room to get our mobility aids out. Don't be a jerk and use the space just because you're "just running in for a moment". Don't be an asshole and park in the hashmarks. Don't leave shopping carts there as well.
