Delicious Party Precure Episode 32 Review - The Noodle To The Soup

I don’t consider this a Ran episode, but a Mem-Mem one and dang it, I need more Mem-Mem episodes! It’s not fair that Pam-Pam and Kome-Kome get episodes about them yet Mem-Mem gets little to nothing. It’s been 32 episodes and this is the first time Mem-Mem gets actual focus?

The episode is mainly about Ran and her family participating in a Noodle Festival where they showcase Oishina Town’s noodle dishes. The Hanamichi’s Panda Hut will be participating, but there’s a huge problem: there’s a missing Udon Recipeppi and if they don’t find it on time, things will go awry. Anyways, it was nice learning that Recipeppis go to the Energy Fairy of their food type if they have problems. Though, I never saw this with the bread Recipeppis with Pam-Pam and the rice ones for Kome-Kome. Still, it’s nice to know that if a Recipeppi is missing, others of the same type will weep and weeping will affect the food negatively.

This episode is also a collaboration with Kumamon as it appears in this episode. If you’re not sure who Kumamon is, it is the mascot of the Kumamoto prefecture. I don’t know what it was promoting, probably ramen, but it’s a recurring thing in Precure to have collaborations with another media franchise. For example, Hirogaru Sky collaborated with the Peach Airlines and Wonderful collaborated with Crayon Shin-chan. The way Ran’s father talked about his past with Kumamon reminded me of the Man vs Bear debate; why choose the man or the bear when they can be together?

I consider this a Mem-Mem episode for the sheer fact that it was him doing all the work finding the Udon Recipeppi. He’s the one reassuring Ran and then he uses his noodle fortune to find it, at the cost of depleting a lot of his energy. I need more Mem-Mem appreciation after this, but the anime always tends to shaft him to the side.

Anyways, this was mainly an episode that would get you craving for noodles. What noodles are you a fan of? I honestly love noodles of all kinds, but I really like udon and soba the best. What are your thoughts and let me know your favorite noodles!
