Some funny and cute head canon between hanako/amane and tsushigomori?
Yayayay I love their dynamic sm. The father/son duo ever. I’m gonna do a mix of Amane and Hanako headcanons bcuz their relationship at any point is so sweet to me
• So for AUs I think it’s super cute when ppl have Tsuchigomori adopt Amane (+Tsukasa)- or at least it would be, I don’t think I’ve seen any actual fics like that lmao. But for canon it’s definitely more of a “teacher you accidentally call dad” dynamic
• I still view Tsuchigomori as a father figure to Hanako but I think they’d both be very reluctant to admit it. I feel the need to specify that because fandoms tend to take parent/child dynamics and make them into super traditional families, which can be cute in AUs but sometimes for canon it takes away the nuance
• It’s the same as when I call Teru Kou’s dad, there’s more to it than that. Yes he is Hanako’s father, yes he is his teacher. Two things can be true at once
• Okay now that that’s out of the way, onto the headcanons
• Circling back to the first point, Hanako has accidentally called Tsuchigomori “dad” twice. Once as Amane, and once as Hanako
• As Amane it was a very emotionally heavy moment, when Tsuchigomori finished bandaging him up as usual. He gave him a mini lecture on standing up for himself, and Amane let out a quiet “Thanks, Dad”
• The minute he realized what he said, he bolted out of that classroom. He wouldn’t talk after that until Tsuchigomori reassured him they could just forget about it
• As Hanako it was more of a comical moment. He was hanging out with Tsuchigomori and Yako, annoying them as usual, but as he was getting ready to ditch them he said “See ya later, Dad”
• Everyone froze until Yako started laughing her ass off. Hanako quickly tried to cover it up but Yako wasn’t willing to forget it as easily as Tsuchigomori had been that first time, so he had to hide out in his bathroom for quite some time
• Yako started calling Tsuchigomori “Dad” too whenever she wanted to mess with him
• Tsuchigomori would try to help Amane make friends by pairing him with other kids for group projects. This always backfired, seeing as Amane had trouble socializing and was an easy target for bullying
• Sometimes he still tries to get Mitsuba and Mei to hang out with the kid so that he has more than two friends (one of which is his girlfriend)
• But progress is still progress and he’s obvi very happy to see that Hanako has made friends
• Hanako hangs out in Tsuchigomori’s office whenever he’s bored or sad
• When he’s bored he’ll just annoy him, telling him unfunny jokes and going on long tangents about whatever comes to mind. Tsuchigomori complains but never seriously attempts to kick him out
• When he’s sad about something, he’ll usually just sit at one of the desks or in the corner curled up in a ball. Tsuchigomori doesn’t comment on it, but he might give him a blanket and some candy, or a book to read
• Hanako tries to go to Tsuchigomori for advice on Nene, but Tsuchigomori’s love life is, frankly, pathetic, so really he’s the one who needs advice
• Some of the only times Hanako isn’t floating is when he’s running in the halls to provoke Tsuchigomori
• Every year on Father’s Day, Hanako brings Tsuchigomori a rock. He started this tradition as Amane and has kept it up all these years
• That’s not to say he didn’t love his bio dad, but he wanted to show appreciation for the teacher that looked out for him too
• Before they left school at the end of every day, Tsukasa would thank Tsuchigomori for “babysitting” Amane
• Hanako’s favorite books are the Sherlock Holmes series so Tsuchigomori lets him know every time the school gets a new copy
• He used to draw little smiley faces on Amane’s papers when he’d get a perfect score
• Amane would stay after school for tutoring even though he didn’t need it whenever things got too tense at home with Tsukasa and his parents
• Hanako frequently asks Tsuchigomori to update him on recent scientific discoveries. If anything major happens, Tsuchigomori will give him reading material
• Tsuchigomori was the one who taught Hanako how to use a computer
• Amane was always deathly afraid of asking questions or raising his hand in class, so if he had any comments he’d reserve them for when the rest of the students left (another method he used to delay going home)
• Amane strikes me as one of those kids who ate lunch with the teacher (ik it’s common for Japanese students to eat in their classrooms but this would be true even when his other classmates decided to eat somewhere else for the day)
• Before Nene came along, Tsuchigomori would encourage Hanako to clean his own bathrooms by giving him science and mystery books as allowance
• For Christmas one year, Tsuchigomori bought Hanako a toy rocket
• When Hanako needs to be cheered up, Tsuchigomori and Yako will play astronaut with him. Sometimes Yako pretends to be an alien, sometimes she’s part of the space crew, it depends on the plot
• Whenever Tsuchigomori is showing his class a movie, Hanako will sit in and watch
• Tsuchigomori has absolutely written “a pleasure to have in class” on one of Amane’s report cards
Okay I’m gonna end it there, ty for this ask I rly enjoyed talking abt them :D

Anyways my swap au since i don't think ill color for a few days from now.
Please don't judge me im just a boy
Alright so basically this is not an entirely swap au where i swap everyone to the t and its also kinda a way for me to entertain my rarepair (meikane) so if anything doesn't make sense just pleaaase leave it at that
So Mei is still sick, she usually doesn't believe in supernaturals and such but since she is told by doctors and other staff that she will die soon, her belief in them strenghtens and she summons Hanako-kun (who is Akane in this au) (Tsukasa is Aoi if you're wondering where she went)
But unlike Nene who wished for love, Mei's main wish comes from a kind if desperation for art. She aches to finish one last painting before the pass onto the next life, it doesn't even need to be a perfect painting hung up on a wall she just wants one that will get the job done, show that she was infact an artist who fought until the very last breath.
İn this au, contrary to the original Akane n Teru met before Mei and Akane. So Teru butts in into their conversation rather casually, just zapping Akane and hearing out Mei's wishes, he quite likes how she isn't materialistic and cares about her creations so he doesn't just drag Akane away
They once again uncorrupt the mokke then Akane's feelings slowly starts to bloom, he goes to Kako who is Tsuchigomori in this au and explaine the situation of his cause and just gushes all over about how much he loves Mei
Kako is Akane's art teacher and Mirai is the doll he made to show anatomy to his students, neat!
Kako just listens to his rant and is happy that he found someone to count on besides Teru and is also glad about the fact he isn't compleaning about everything that doesn't go his way
The three of them go to the mid year festival and Mei gets sent to the past Nene style she just hangs out with Baby Akane and Baby Aoi and wonders who she is since she never heard of her before... weird... But when shes back to the regular world they all hang out and everything is fine YAAAY!!
the middle part doesn't exist because im lazy so anyways AOİ AND AKANE BACKSTORY!!!
Aoi and Akane live in the same houses and the places they used to, the hole is located in Akane's house and Aoi sacrifices mainly bugs to make Akane's small wishes come true
Then Akane comes down with the sickness and Aoi tries to offer the hole more things
Animals, bigger bugs, reptiles, anything she can get her hands on really
But she doesn't really mention any wishes to Akane, she just assumes things and makes them come true for him. But they aren't enough.
Aoi starts to sacrifice the tiny flowers that began to bloom in her garden in a last ditch effort to make Akane's pain go away but to no avail, Akane is still sick and Aoi has run out of options.
She finally asks Akane what he wants more than anything in the world and Akane responds pretty plainly, how he wants to see some places, make a friend or two, maybe getting married, graduating college, owning a cool car and all
So Aoi goes back to the hole and instead of with her usual sacrifices she sacrifices herself, happy to see Akane being all better next day
Akane can tell something is off so his obsession with Aoi never gets as much as it is in the manga, even him killing her was mainly because Akane knew something was off but not what and Aoi hasn't told him despite them being close
So anyways the severance happens.
Akane tells Mei just before it happens that it will happen and that she will forget him and other supernatural friends she made along the way, obviously she tells him to just stop messing with her head and just say the truth and Akane confirms that it is the truth, just before fading away from her grasp, never to be seen again.
Teru still tries to find him, though. Since he doesn't know what happened to Akane he tries to pick up clues where he might be, he checks every corner that they used to meet up and calls out his name constantly, a flicker of hope that he will come back to him.
But he never answers back.
He finally goes to Mei for help and they search around together, it ending in the Minamoto household where they beg Kou for answers instead, Kou says he doesn't know either and that Amane and him will investigate further (Amane is the clock keeper in this au) since his powers went away as well.
When they are up in Teru's room, Mei mummbles something about how she never really thought Akane would be gone for this long when he said he would be gone and Teru obviously gets confused and asks about when he mentioned such a thing so Mei just says "yknow.. the day before" she says meekly, not getting the hint and in that moment cold water gets poured down Teru's shoulders.
Not offended (definitely offended) but upset that Akane didn't tell HİM, his friend of almost two years about him suddenly disappearing but just some girl who summoned him when? A few months ago?! İts almost like he doesn't even give a fuck about him.
Lateron Amane and Kou ask them to come down stairs and explain how they need a piece of a supernatural to go to the far shore, and since there aren't any regular supernaturals left they need to go to the place where the line with the far shore and early shore are the thinest, which is where Akane's family uses
Teru says he will go there if he must and Amane just goes "okay!!!!! İll just take your brother on a date then" and then they just do the whole day off thing but without the visiting the old man part, so Teru goes to the farshore alone to relieve some stess off his bones and the anger he has on Akane
He obtains the supernatural part quite fast but theres a voice in him that urges him to go deeper in the house and find something that has been missing in his life. So he does so since he has nothing better to do, his steps are quite fast as he just wants to get over with it.
He opens the doors but theres little to nothing behind them, maybe a portrait of his family with his mom or just hid big brother's sword falling down on his feet, he doesn't really know what any of those mean and keeps walking in and out of doors he finds, then a pair of hands cover his eyes and turns him around, his eyes widen to see Akane
Akane immediately greets him with a big bright smile and talks about how they need to catch the buss to the school, how their first class is with mr Kako so they don't want to miss it and overall about daily life, from his looks too he seems to be a regular middle school student without worries or fears, so he just follows Akane, barely noticing he went through another door, then he realizes that Akane is still a supernatural, the thing on the back of his neck still visible and he goes to scratch his, noticing that theres a paper on there. He goes up to a mirror and checks it out, realizing he has become Akane's yorishiro.
Akane apologizes as he holds his cheeks, how after everything that happened the thing that he regrets most is that he havent told anyone about his disappearance, how he is sooo happy to see him again, how much he missed him but in that moment Teru finally sees through the facade, slapping him off and pinning him to the ground, staring down at a rather confused Akane who stares right back into his soul, making it hard for Teru to just eliminate the problem. So he just.. doesn't, he runs out the door with a hurry, leaving his trident behind as a result.
But the moment he goes through the door he is in their home, specifically their doorstep, he is dressed in clothes Kou used to wear when dad would take him for his training and when he looks up, he notices the similarities, a blade similar to Kou's in his hand, looking up at his father seemingly taking him out to a mission. But he snaps out of that one quicker, throwing himself out of the door he came through. He experiences much weirder and more detailed scenarios as he goes through the countless doors, sooner or later realizing those are the desires he had since he was a little boy
But the time he is spent and exhausted he finally sees a closed door, he goes to open it but instead is met with Aoi, who holds a jar full of bugs, staring up at him with her beady eyes. She runs past him and Teru follows behind her, watching the backstory of the Aois unfold.
He sees his trident at the garden of the house once he gets out but he does make a decision, he won't become the exorcist he aspired to be, at least for Akane, someone he cares so deeply about using the power of the unknown to cling to life.
He goes back home with the supernatural, he is there early, then met with Amane, Kou and Mei
He doesn't preapere the supernatural since he wants to face Akane on his own and teach him a lesson or two about how to treat his friends, but Kou does it for him instead so the four of them go to the house Kou has seen all those things to.
Teru goes in head first then Amane and Kou then lastly, Mei. Meanwhile that, Yashiro and Akane are having a conversation about how they lived their lives, how much they enjoyed it and things they would change if they could, once silent sinks in Nene asks Akane about Teru and what he thinks of him, if he regrets ever meeting him.
Akane sighs and says that his only regret about Teru is that he hasn't told him when he was leaving, because he did promised him he would be there for Teru's whole time in that school
But just about he is about to finish his sentence, the train stops and everybody obviously begins to panic, Akane clings to Nene and tries to find a safe way out, and all of a sudden red beads cover his and Nene's body, surprised he floats off the ground with Nene and flies out of the window with the beads, eyes meeting Teru's, colder than usual without the stupid smile he grew used to
Akane asks a lot of questions, how he came here, doesn't he knows how dangerous it is out there?! What the hell is wrong with his head?! Does he have a death wish?! As he approached Teru more and more he feels his body pinned to the ground, punch after punch meet his face as he tries to tell Teru to stop, once he feels tears on his face is when it all stops and he looks up at Teru, his eyes filled to the brim with tears, the first time of him seeing him like that so he obviously just stops protecting himself and try to think of a way to comfort his friend.
Teru grabs onto Akane's shirt to yell at him but before he could continue Kou and Amane separate them, Mei rushing to Akane crying and hugging him, but Akane's eyes stay on Teru, his tears soaked back into their place as he just pushes Kou off, saying he's fine as it is.
On the way back home, Akane asks Teru of why he cares so much and apologizes for being a bit too mean back there, Teru is silent through it all, telling him to forget it so Akane jokingly says that if he is the only person who can make him cry, then he must be the most important person in his life.
Teru stays silent but just muttering out a maybe before extending his hand from the back, Akane takes it, sighing. Maybe he should just shut his mouth
The roles switched:
Mei: Nene
Hanako: Akane
Kou: Teru
Aoi: Tsukasa
Nene: Aoi(sunflower trio n toilet trio swap basically)
(Tsukasa is his own additional charachter)
Sakura: Hakubo
Sumire: Natsuhiko
Kako: Tsuchigomori
Mirai: Yako
Shijima: Mitsuba
Mei: Sousuke
Additional commentary:
Amane isn't obsessed with Nene the way Akane is obsessed with Aoi, he actually has a crush on both Kou n Nene
Kou's crush on Nene is much more vibrant and obvious like in the original story but Teru doesn't feel anything but platonic love for Mei
Akane is reffered to as 'Hanako' but Kako n Aoi call him Akane n Teru calls him Aoi
Mitsuba is much more possessive in the au which makes their work a lot more harder since Aoi purely manipulated him for her own desires which is for Akane to only think of her.
Mitsuba's picture perfect world isn't drawings but rather the pictures he took as he was alive so in the picture perfect arc we also learn about Mitsuba's backstory and his certain life decisions.
Mirai was never alive in this au, after being created by Kako her only purpose was to be a helpful guide on simplistic anatomy, lateron gaining the life for being Kako's yorishiro
Natsuhiko was never a sacrifice but rather an annoying lowerrank supernatural who wouldn't leave Sakura alone eventually after feelings are shared, and Natsuhiko gets exorcised he reborns as her yorishiro
The yorishiro of Kako is Mirai and Mirai's yorishiro is the last screw of her doll body.
The clockeepers' yorishiro is the boundary itself
Akane's yorishiro is Aoi
Mitsuba's yorishiro is his camera
Tsuchigomori and Hanako are still extremely close and Kou isn't as violent as Teru is so Amane of this au is much more aware of his powers and isn't afraid to use them (stopping time at any point of the day, it being 40 minutes with a 15 minute cooldown, his hammer being usefull outside of the boundary, certain levels of time manipulation etc)
Also in this au Sousuke tries to kill Mitsuba rather than the other way around because he hates that he makes a world where everyone is happy without him
İ don't plan on writing this until next year so meh might as well dump small portion of it here, right?
#meikane#im just entertaining my rarepair okay..... leave me alone and never come back#this is also taken from my twitter dms........ guilty#<- never writes his aus down#terukane#swap au#Kuzey writing#new tag maybe

Prompt: Folklore
I wanted to make an AU that switched Hanako and Nene's roles (with Nene being the spirit), but there's surprisingly few legends I could find that fit the bill of 'fem wish granter'.
After doing some digging I found some stories about Leanan Sidhe (which I had only known from the Persona Series). There's quite a few interpretations of this legend in fae folk ranging from "energy vampire" to "tragic immortal romantic".
Her defining features being the ability to shape-shift into the ideal beauty in the eyes of humans and that those who fall in love with her are destined to die. Oh, and that she is a muse, providing her lovers with unparalleled gifts in return for their devotion.
I thought it would fit the AU concept/shell I had in mind perfectly of a role-swap so here goes.
Nene's rumor around the school varies from who you ask, but it's said if you offer your heart to her she can grant any wish in return. Amane, struggling with his possessed twin, summons her in desperation.
She tells him a bunch of bogus stuff about how her magic comes from 'true love'. Amane thinks that his love for his brother should be enough to fuel her 'magic' and pressures her into helping him.
She tries her best to act as an advisor and getting him in contact with the youngest exorcist from the Minamoto clan; but that only puts Tsukasa in mortal peril.
Eventually Nene caves and saves his brother, but at a cost. Hanako will be her "knight" for the rest of his life. She had avoided making a contract with him, because the contract always ends with her 'knight' dying (usually to get out of the contract). She's never had anyone who wanted to be around her for longer than 6 months.
Turns out, the rumors surrounding her are so vicious (predatory, siren-like, stealing people's lifeforce one after another, blinding her lover with her glamor) that she can't control her own magic anymore. No matter how much she fights the rumors, her magic acts as a force all on it's own. It becomes a race to change the rumors so Hanako won't die from the contract he made.
Poor Kou gets stuck in the middle of this mess, half the time entranced by glamor, and half the time trying to save the twins from his brother's pursuit of justice.

other than sakuaoi, do u have any other rare or rarest dynamics (it could be platonic or romantic) that u liked the idea of them appearing in canon? and ur reasons/thoughts/ideas on those?
coughs not me be asking if u ever thought of akane being on terms with either shijima-san or yako and their entire friendship is either bullying the rest of the seven mysteries or just shitting on hanako coughs
hmm.. probably terumei as a rare platonic dynamic? the bestest friends ever.... talking about the alive mei btw! in an alive au too since err... yknow shes. Yknow
i feel like mei would be able to see right through teru and it'd confuse him. he'd get curious on how easily she can do that and it's literally just dumb luck apparently.. she's not very good when it comes to other people's lies, just teru's. it only confuses teru even more. the two end up becoming friends and mei encourages teru to take breaks while teru is her personal model and reference for art
another platonic duo i like is mirai and mitsuba.. haven't seen this one anywhere i think? i feel like mirai would simply. Break and enter into his boundary. she leaves candy wrappers on the floor while running and bouncing around everywhere while mitsuba tries to catch her because he hates the mess [only he can make messes there] but he never gets her. akane usually has to deal with the scolding instead of mirai when he interferes.. he has to be the one to pick her up and bring her back to their boundary and mitsuba's telling him off the entire time because he let her roam free when he didn't actually
and for a romantic dynamic.. i don't mention it much but i do like aoilemon! it's just some guy with the cutest girl around. it's just silly and i like it.... like everyone's so determined to be with aoi and then it turns out she has an absolute loser for a boyfriend. she loves him dearly though.. him and his stupid idol rhythm games that he encourages her to play with him [she does, shes not good at it but lemon likes when they co-op and tells her she does good anyway..]
akane and shijima being friends is a dynamic i love so much .. they poke fun at all the mysteries but hanako the most.... akane would do the same with yako but she also teaches him how to do some stuff like sow and make dolls for mirai so she doesn't bother him while he's cleaning and all

Fandom: Sk8 the Infinity
Characters: Shindo Ainosuke (Adam), Kikuchi Tadashi (Snake), Shindo Ainosuke’s Aunts
Warnings:Emotional Manipulation, References to Abuse, Yandere Tadashi, Graphic Violence, Non-Sexual Bondage, Murder/Minor Character Death, Blood, Gore, Crying, Vomiting, etc. Tread carefully!
Word Count: 2.2k
Summary: (AU - Canon Divergence) Tadashi is tired of Ainosuke's aunts and their manipulations, so he decides to take matters into his own hands, whether Ainosuke wants it or not. [TadaAi Week 2021 | Day 2: Separation/Ties]
“Ainosuke-sama. Your presence is requested in the drawing room.”
Tadashi cuts off the call before Ainosuke can reply, and he’s left staring at his phone in bewilderment. The only people who would call him to the drawing room would be his aunts, but it’s the middle of the night. And usually, Tadashi would come to fetch him in person.
Still, he can’t resist the habits that have been ingrained in him since he was four: when his aunts call for him, he attends, regardless of what he’s doing. Whether he was just sitting in the garden, in a lesson with his tutors, or even at one of his equestrian classes, when the call came, someone would come to fetch him and bring him inside. The only place where he could be certain that he wouldn’t be interrupted was when he was in school.
Thus, confused, he nevertheless begins the walk down to the drawing room, frowning as he draws closer. There are small noises that he can’t identify: muffled, high-pitched voices that he can’t understand, a rustle and the sound of something tearing. And when he steps into the room, it feels as if the axis of the world has tilted, and he’s stepped into a dream… or a nightmare.
His aunts are seated around the table as they usually are, and when he enters the room, three pairs of eyes turn to look at him, just like always. But they aren’t eyes filled with their usual confidence and self-assurance. They’re wide, desperate, and terrified. Each of them is tied to her chair with coarse rope, their mouths stuffed with cloth, and Hanako and Masako are covered in plastic sheeting that wraps around their necks like a barber’s cape. More rustling draws his attention to Kanako, and Tadashi behind her, securing a third sheet around the woman with the harsh rip of more tape. And then his assistant straightens up, tugging at the lapels of his jacket before looking at Ainosuke. And he doesn’t recognize those eyes, either: they’re as flat as always, but they’re also cold. So cold that it makes Ainosuke shiver and take an involuntary step back.
“Tadashi?”
His voice sounds strange to his ears, thin and distant.
“Tadashi? What are you doing?”
Hanako is trying to say something through her gag, frantic words that break apart into unintelligible noise. Masako is struggling against her bonds, the rope twisting the silk of her nightgown and leaving red welts around her wrists. Kanako is lunging forward, dragging her chair forward in a soft scrape of wood on wood, but Ainosuke can’t look away from the man who’s brought them all here. So he sees when Tadashi reaches into his jacket pocket and pulls out something that shines dark and metallic in the moonlight coming through the window, pressing it to Kanako’s head. And the woman freezes instantly, her pleading eyes staring at Ainosuke, begging for him to stop whatever is happening.
Bending over, Tadashi pulls out the cloth from her mouth, dropping the soaked fabric into her lap, where it squelches against the plastic.
“Ainosuke!” she gasps, her voice high with terror. “Do something! Call the police! Call--”
“Shut up.”
She’s cut off by a cold voice that none of them recognize, her head snapping sideways when the gun is slammed against her head. A gun. Where the hell had Tadashi gotten a gun? Kanako whimpers as blood courses down her face while the barrel is shoved against the back of her head again.
“The only words I want to hear out of your mouth are apologies to Ainosuke-sama. Anything else, and I’ll pull the trigger. If you don’t do a good job, I’ll pull the trigger.”
There’s a beat of silence, and then Kanako is babbling, tears drawing tracks through the blood.
“Ainosuke, you know we love you, right? We just--”
And she flinches at the sound of a small click, the cocking of the gun.
“NO! Nonono, I'm sorry. I'll do it. I'm sorry, Ainosuke. We hurt you, and I regret it. I didn't mean to. I just wanted to raise you into an outstanding man. And you've done us so proud, Ainosuke. We just tried our best to--"
With a bang, Kanako suddenly slumps forward, and her sisters' screams can be heard through their gags while they jerk against the ropes and Ainosuke stares, wide-eyed with shock. Kanako doesn't move while blood drips from her head, pattering against the plastic like rain. She just sits, silent and still, and he just watches with a sick sense of horror.
But then Tadashi is moving, crossing the room, and he can't help but follow the other man's silent progress. The moonlight illuminates a splash of something on his face, wet and dark, but Tadashi hasn't even bothered to try to wipe it away. And then he stops behind Masako, and Ainosuke's legs can no longer support his weight. He crumbles to his knees, his throat working frantically to force words out.
"Tadashi... stop. Please," he begs, watching his youngest aunt cringe and shiver. "What do you want? We'll give it to you, anything. We won't tell the police what happened. I promise. It's not too late. You can still stop. Just stop. Please. Don't... don't kill her. Don't kill them."
Tadashi doesn't even seem to hear him as he bends over to pull the gag out of Masako's mouth. The woman is sobbing helplessly, her face tear-stained and her breath coming in short, choking gasps. Even the gun pressed to her head can't suppress her panic, and neither can Tadashi's chilling voice.
"Your turn."
But there's no sound in the room except for Masako's crying and Hanako's muffled shouts, and then Tadashi sighs with apparent impatience. A gloved hand wraps around Masako's slender throat, and Ainosuke just stares as the fingers tighten, digging into soft flesh. And the cries are suddenly cut off, and Masako struggles in Tadashi’s grip, her mouth opening and closing soundlessly until he finally lets go. And then she slumps forward, coughing, only for Tadashi’s hand to fist in her hair and drag her head up, forcing her to look over at Ainosuke.
“Your turn,” he repeats.
“Tadashi...”
“Ainosuke. Ainosuke, dear. I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry. We were wrong. What we did was wrong.” Masako’s voice is hoarse and shaky, and every word seems to cause her pain, but she forces them out anyways, tears still falling down her face. “We hurt you badly. We ruined your childhood. We were selfish, thinking of ourselves and the family. Not thinking about you.”
“No. No, that’s not true, auntie. You raised me. All of you,” Ainosuke protests, his mouth dry. And it’s true: without them, he couldn’t have become the man he was today. They’d loved him, and they’d taught him everything he knew, everything he needed to succeed. It was true that their love sometimes hurt, but he’d always known that it was only because they cared.
“Keep going,” says the voice of the executioner, and both of them flinch.
“Kikuchi-kun is right, Ainosuke. We should apologize. We need to apologize. It was all our fault. Everything. All of it. Please, Kikuchi-kun. Let us go. We won’t say anything. We’ll make it up however we can. Let us start over, please. I never wanted to do it; it was always them. Hanako and--”
Ainosuke sees her eyes widen and then try to push their way out of their sockets, and a mark appears on her forehead with something dark trickling out of it before Tadashi lets go and Masako’s head falls forward limply. He hadn’t even heard the shot, and a sour taste grows in the back of his throat before he collapses forward himself, his hands resting on the floor as he vomits onto the ground, belatedly realizing that it’s been covered with more of the plastic sheeting. His stomach heaves, bringing up more of his dinner in a slimy mess, and he realizes that he’s crying too, hot tears falling over his cheeks.
What’s going on? Why is Tadashi doing this? What have any of them done to deserve this... this senseless, ruthless execution? He chokes and cries until there’s nothing left for him to bring up, and his throat is raw and disgusting when he finally looks up, knowing what he’ll see. Tadashi’s standing right behind Hanako, his expression impassive as he looks down on his master with his hand resting on the back of the couch.
“Tadashi,” Ainosuke chokes out past the taste of acid on his tongue. “Please...”
Once again, Tadashi removes the gag from the woman’s mouth before nudging her with his gun. Hanako’s always been the strongest of her sisters, the matriarch of the family, and it breaks Ainosuke’s heart to see her shaking with sobs, looking between the corpses surrounding them.
“Kanako... Masako...” she whispers, her voice filled with so much grief that it seems likely to drive Ainosuke mad. But then her eyes harden, and she tilts her head back to spit at Tadashi, her saliva striking him on the cheek and mingling with Kanako’s blood.
“You won’t intimidate me, servant. What do you know about nobility, when you sneak into our rooms in the middle of the night and force us here at gunpoint? When you coerce us to lie with our lives in the balance? Go ahead and kill me! Show Ainosuke that we were right to separate him from your foul influence! Watch, Ainosuke! This is how the lower-class creatures live!”
“Tadashi! Auntie!” Ainosuke cries out, even as Tadashi says, “As you wish.”
And a third shot rings out, echoing in his ears.
He doesn’t know how long he’s knelt there with vomit soaking into his pants, staring at the ground because it’s better than looking up. He doesn’t even realize that Tadashi has moved until the older man is kneeling right next to him, and then Ainosuke is scrambling away in a wild panic until he’s backed himself against the wall. He still doesn’t understand, but it’s his turn next: it must be. Tadashi’s too smart to leave any witnesses to the crime, and he’s clearly thought it through to ensure that any mess is easy to clean up and hide. He’s probably got a perfect plan for disposing of the bodies, too, in a way that they won’t ever be found. Maybe even for Tadashi to disappear as well.
There’s something dark lying on the ground between them, and Ainosuke’s watery eyes are drawn toward it, and he flinches when he recognizes the gun with Tadashi’s hand lying on top of it. But the hand retreats, leaving the weapon behind, and he looks up at the man he thought he knew but he clearly didn’t, sitting in seiza in front of him.
“If you wish to take revenge, Ainosuke-sama, I won’t stop you.”
The coldness is gone, but Tadashi’s voice is as flat and colorless as it’s always been since their separation. Glassy-eyed with shock, Ainosuke stares at him, afraid of a trick. But as the silence stretches between them and Tadashi doesn't move a muscle, Ainosuke lunges forward to grab the gun and whips back just as quickly, the weapon heavy in his hands as he points it at the other man. And Tadashi just sits there.
His finger creaks on the trigger as he remembers his aunts, the women who gave up their own futures to ensure that he would be successful at everything he put his mind to. Who taught him how to navigate the messy world of human relations and politics. Who ensured that he learned how to prioritize, that he understood his role as the scion of a family of status. Who loved him.
And Tadashi had killed them all. Heartlessly, with the same efficiency with which he handled everything else.
"Why?" he asks, his hands shaking. "Why, Tadashi?"
"Because you deserve to be free."
What does that even mean? He wants to pull the trigger, to end Tadashi's life just as easily as Tadashi ended his aunts', but no matter how much he tries, it's as if he's frozen. But Tadashi just waits patiently, looking up at him calmly, until the gun finally falls from his hands, thunking on the floor.
And then Tadashi is sweeping him into his arms, hugging him, and Ainosuke's tears flow freely as he hugs his family's murderer back, desperate for warmth. It's wrong. It's so wrong that he can't even find the words to describe just how fucked up this whole situation is. But he can't kill Tadashi, even after all this.
"It's okay, Ainosuke-sama. It's because you're kind. But you're safe, I promise. I'll be here for you. I'll teach you."
The words are soft and reassuring, words that don't match what Tadashi has just done, but Ainosuke still clings to him helplessly, hating himself and hating Tadashi. Then, Tadashi stands up, hefting Ainosuke in his arms before starting to carry him back to his room.
He helps Ainosuke change out of his soiled clothes and gets him a glass of water, helping him to drink before tucking him into bed, as if his master is a child again. Then he leaves, murmuring something about cleaning up the mess. And Ainosuke lies in bed, staring at the ceiling and praying that it was all a nightmare, that it'll go away when he wakes up in the morning.

A/N: For the Tiny Lights, @hananene-zine! I wanted to do a little ‘spirited-away’ au (it works so well for the ship!) The amazing @blue-mooned made a beautiful piece to go with it, check it out!
Summary: Radish Legs didn’t like the butterflies she was getting from Hanako. Didn’t like how he teased her even as he helped her reclaim her name and her life. He was a spirit, a ghost, and she definitely wasn’t starting to like like him.
…
…
…
…
Over the past couple of weeks, Radish Legs had gotten used to many things, the least of which was her name change. She wasn’t sure what was more insulting about it: the fact that people thought her legs were fat or the notion that no one could come up with a better nickname. How could anyone look at her and not come up with a more beautiful name? She was gorgeous, damnit.
Maybe the guy who’d stolen her name was blind. Tsukasa Yugi was a spirit, after all, and there was no accounting for taste with them. Especially one as evil with him. Not only had he stolen her name, but he’d also turned her best friend into a pig. Well, actually, if she were honest, it was mostly her fault that Aoi had turned into a pig. It had been a little suspicious when they’d found those empty stalls filled with food, and Aoi had been right when she’d wanted to go back. If she hadn’t convinced her to eat, maybe they’d be home right now.
Instead, Aoi was in a pig pen and Radish Legs was sitting on a furry rabbit-like thing as she flew hundreds of miles over the earth. Clutching the fur tightly, she leaned over and peeked at the ground below. The houses looked like ants from this height, and she swallowed as she sat straight once more. If she fell, they’d have to call her Pancake Girl. “You sure this is safe?”
On her right, Hanako shrugged. He was the exact mirror image of Tsukasa, though while the short hair gave his twin an eviller look, Hanako looked more boyish. As usual, there was a mischievous twinkle in his eyes as he asked, “Is anything safe, really?”
“Hanako,” she warned, not in the mood for another one of his jokes. However cute he was (and boy was he cute, Radish Girl had to remind herself that even if he looked like he was her age, he was a spirit and was probably a zillion years older than her), his attitude was barely tolerable when they had the solid ground beneath them. Soaring high in the sky, she refused to play along. “I don’t want to die.”
“Would it really be that bad?” He reached out, placing a hand on hers and squeezing it lightly. For a spirit, his skin was warm, and she blushed. “We could hang out even longer.”
“Hanako,” she growled, glaring at him. She didn’t move her hand, however.
“Don’t worry so much.” Laughing, he leaned back and stared at the sky. She missed his touch immediately. “Mokka are a reliable transport. It’ll get us back on time.”
“Right, the test.” Radish Legs rubbed her arms, remembering now just why they were in such a rush to get back to the bathhouse. This was perhaps her only chance to escape all this madness and get home. “Your brother…what do you think the test’ll be?”
“Mmm, well, it’s going to be something really tricky, because he’s sneaky like that.” Hanako tapped his chin, considering the question seriously. She wondered if he realized he was just as sly as his brother. At least Hanako wasn’t as malicious. “You remember your name, right?”
Radish Legs nodded, patting her chest. Tucked inside an inner pocket was her birthday card from Aoi, her name carefully scrawled across the cover. Nene. The name felt foreign now, after weeks of Radish Legs, and she resisted the urge to say it aloud, to remind herself how it sounded, how it tasted. Until she defeated Tsukasa’s test, her name had to remain a secret.
“Good.” Hanako smiled, and his expression is genuine now. He took her hand again, this time tenderly. Intertwining their fingers, he continued. “Then all you have to do is save your friend and you’ll get home.” His thumb stroked her skin and he lowered his eyes. Wistfully, he asked, “You could stay, you know. Save your friend and then stay here.”
“I…” Radish Legs swallowed. He wasn’t her type, she reminded herself. She was into dashing princes, the ones so handsome you couldn’t believe they were real. Not the all too close boy-next-door, the kind of guy that grew on her until she couldn’t remember what it was like without him. His eyes were so big, she could see her reflection in them. Biting her lip, Radish Legs stared at their clasped hands. It was strange, she had a feeling they’d held hands like this before. Long ago, when spirits were still just silly stories.
Before she could sort herself out, Hanako laughed and let go. “I’m just teasing. You can’t stay here. After the mess you made cleaning, Tsukasa’s gonna kick you out himself.”
“Jeez, stop making fun of me,” Radish Legs pouted, ignoring the way her heart sank. No, scratch that, her heart didn’t sink at all. She didn’t care about him in the least. She was a stone, she was a rock, and she was going to grab Aoi and leave the second she could.
“It was a parting gift. I can’t do it anymore after you leave, after all.” Shielding his eyes, he squinted as he stared into the distance. It wasn’t long before he broke into a smile. “We’re almost there!”
“That was so quick!” Incredulous, Radish Legs leaned forward, eyes narrowing until she could barely make out the shape of Tsukasa’s bathhouse. It would never be home, but she felt a sense of relief as they got closer. The spirit world was vast, and this was the one small part she knew. “I should have just taken a Mokke when I left.”
Hanako snorted. Patting her back, he stated bluntly, “You would have crashed.”
“I…” She couldn’t entirely deny it. It wasn’t like her time in the spirit world had been smooth in the least. Even the simplest of jobs, cleaning a tub, had gone awry because of some pesky spirits. Actually, almost every task she’d been given had gone wrong one way or another. “I could have managed,” she mumbled lamely.
Chuckling, Hanako took her hand again. He was so touchy feely like that, constantly liking having some contact with her. Hand holding was easier for her heart than his hugging, at least, but that didn’t make her pulse race any slower. “Alright, ready?”
And again, this sensation was familiar. Someone had held her hand like this before, guiding her. She had been younger then, much younger, and wandering around a shrine at night. No, that wasn’t right. Nene frowned, her nose scrunching as she forced herself to remember. It had felt like a shrine, but it had happened at a school. A fourth step she shouldn’t have stepped on.
She turned to ask Hanako but froze as she stared at the seal on his cheek. Suddenly, he wasn’t wearing a white haori but instead black school clothes. Her own pink outfit faded away into her elementary uniform. His hand held hers tightly as they navigated through a shrine filled with dolls.
You shouldn’t have stepped on that fourth step, he muttered, giving her a wry smile. But I guess you couldn’t help it with those radish legs of yours.
“Radish Legs?”
“Radish Legs? Hello?”
“I don’t have fat legs!” Radish Legs roared, pulling herself out of her memory and into the present.
Hanako blinked, eyes wide as he let go of her hand. He was wearing his white haori again, just as she was her high school self again. Rubbing the back of his head, he muttered, “Damn, you’re scary.”
She should be angrier at that, but Radish Legs discarded her rage and instead grabbed his shoulders. “I know who you are!”
“It’d be a problem if you got amnesia now,” Hanako joked, his expression bemused.
“No, not that—your name is Amane Yugi!” Radish Legs announced triumphantly. All this time, she’d had a strange feeling that they’d met before and now she knew why. “You died at my school and now you’re Hanako, the toilet ghost. You saved me one time when I got trapped in a school mystery.”
“Huh? I…” Hanako’s eyes widened as he processed her words. “Amane?” Something must have clicked in him somewhere because he started to repeat the word, saying his name over and over again. “I’m Amane. Amane. I…” He smiled brightly. “I’m a school mystery!”
As soon as he announced it, the Mokke shrank and they were no longer flying but falling. It was so sudden that Radish Legs didn’t even have a chance to scream before gravity yanked her down. Her hands were still on Hanako’s—no Amane’s shoulders and he grabbed her waist, keeping her close. “Nene! You did it!”
“Nene?” It had been so long since she’d heard it, but that was her name. Not Radish Legs, but Nene. “That’s me!”
“And I’m Amane!” He laughed as they plummeted. “I have my name back! And you…you might be bigger now but you’re just as clumsy, huh?”
Indignant, she bit out, “Hey! Who saved you? ME!”
“That’s true. I guess you paid me back, huh?” He pulled her closer, until they touched foreheads. For a ghost, he felt all too real. “Thanks, Nene.”
Flustered, she could only nod. He was close, far too close, and smiling like that was unfair. If Amane asked for anything now, she could only say yes.
Luckily, he didn’t realize it. Instead, he slowed down their fall and hugged her tight. Before she could protest, he started flying them back to the bathhouse. And if she nestled his arms a little, buried her head into his chest, well, he didn’t say anything about it.
Suddenly, she wished they’d taken the train back to the bathhouse. It might have been long enough for her to figure out how to say goodbye.

AoiNene Week Ficlets #5
Day 5: Teen Drama AU/Hanako of the Opera AU
I’ve already written an Hanako of the Opera AU with AoiNene, but I still love Phantom, like, so much.
Aoi was perfect as a starlet. Everyone knew it even before she began to sing. With a high, clear voice, Aoi’s singing filled the theater with the force of a heavenly choir. Looking every bit of an angel, everyone gazed upon her with adulation and reverence. Once she was done, the staff erupted into applause. A couple of them were even crying.
Nene’s own heart was pounding. She sucked in her breath, rubbing at her sternum as she tried not to over-worry her lower lip with her teeth. Smacking her cheeks to straighten herself out, she went up to her best friend with all smiles and cheer.
“The play’s going to be perfect, Aoi!” she exclaimed. “D-Definitely...! The best production yet! There’s not a single person who won’t fall in love with you!”
Aoi regarded her warmly, taking a swing of her water. She side-steps to get closer, and Nene almost stumbled back in surprise.
“What about you, Nene-chan?”
“Eh?”
“Are you going to fall in love with me?” Aoi asks, batting her eyelashes. It’s definitely enough to get Nene’s heart skip a beat. The most popular girl in school was way too powerful.
“G-Geez, Aoi, don’t joke...” Stammering, she cupped her cheek and tried to look away. But like a dazzling light to a moth, Nene’s gaze kept getting drawn back. “Haven’t I been rejected enough?”
Usually... I’m rejected in favor of Aoi. Even for this play...
Honestly, she had played with the idea of being Christine—but she did concede that Aoi was more fitting. Beautiful and lovely, there wasn’t anyone else who’d warm the heart of a monster.
Even so... Aoi rejecting me herself would be a bit...
“Is that what you’d think, Nene-chan?”
“...eh?”
She’s getting too caught up in her head lately. Aoi is now looking at her intensely and Nene has no idea what to make of that.
“What I...?” Nene made a face. “Sorry, Aoi. I don’t know what we’re discussing.”
Despite that intense stare, Aoi does smile at her. That smile—doesn’t reach her eyes.
I don’t think I’ve seen Aoi look like that before. Is she...disappointed?
“I-I’m sorry!” Nene hurriedly exclaimed. “I-I just... I’ve had...a lot on my mind! It’s my fault, Aoi, I’m so sorry!”
“It’s fine, Nene-chan.” Aoi’s response is instant. She’s already taking Nene’s hand to squeeze lovingly and graciously. “I was just thinking...that if Nene-chan were Christine...then I’d like to be the Phantom.”
“The Phantom?” Is she messing with me? “What about Raoul?”
“What about him?” Aoi scoffed as if unimpressed with the very thought. Before Nene’s widening gaze, Aoi pressed a kiss to her hand and swore like a promise, “Only you can make my song take flight.”

Hananene cute scenario ideas 💗
Hi! To be honest I'm not much of a writer (even if I do try to write fanfics sometimes.) But here I'm gonna lay down some cute ideas I got for Hananene, so if some of those may or may not inspire you to write a fanfiction on your own then please feel free to borrow my ideas! But when you do please link me to the fanfic because I'll definitely want to read it! 💕💕
1) Yashiro teaching Hanako how to play video games/using smartphones!
Because Hanako is a space nerd he's probably also really interested in the development of science in general through the years. And since he's a ghost he sneaks into different classrooms to listen to the science teachers giving lessons to the students of the school. Yashiro had noticed that so she shows him videos of new technologies on her phone. Hanako finds it amazing how a tiny device like a smartphone can do so many things! It can take photos, record voices and videos, be used as an alarm clock, be used to write stuff on it, look up anything at any time in the whole world, etc. Hanako secretly wishes he could have a phone since it seems so useful but he's honestly not sure how to get one since he can't leave the school. Yashiro also lets him play some games on her phone even if he sucks a lot at first, after a little while he gets the hang of it! He prefers silly little games that involve playing with animals, cutting random people's hair and make it into a mess, adventure style games, etc. He's not a big fan of Yashiro's "raising idols" games though... he says that it's because he sucks at rhythm games and doesn't really like the songs but it's probably because he's pissed that the idols in the game are way too handsome 😂 Though he did ask which character in the game was Yashiro's favorite and of course, it was a tall blond hottie who looks like Teru which made Hanako even more irritated.
Also, Yashiro keeps a couple of Hanako's favorite games on her phone so he can play them when he wants. One time she encouraged him to try an idol raising game but this time with female idols (love live/bandori style.) Unsurprisingly he loved it because the game was full of cute girls. (Btw, his favorites in love live would be Honoka, Kotori, Chika and Riko because they all remind him of Yashiro since they have some similar personality traits, same for Kasumi, Tsugumi, Himari and Aya from bandori.)
2) Yashiro dressing up as Hanako for Halloween! It's a common idea in the fandom that Hanako would find Yashiro super cute in his hat, so imagine if she wore the whole outfit! Even better if it's a matching one rather than exactly the same as his, like, she'd wear all white to contrast with the fact that he wears all black.
3) So we already know that Yashiro has an embarrassing journal where she rewrites her everyday life in a really... shoujo-esque style. (The part where she wrote that her and Teru are secretly dating and he would always stare at her 😂) So one day she mistakenly brings it to school without noticing (maybe she was too distracted and grabbed her journal instead of a textbook or something?) So she tries her best to hide it but somehow Hanako finds it.
He knows that it's really bad to look through other people's stuff but he can't help but feel really curious. He knows it's gonna be torture since it's probably gonna be filled with lots of Teru and other handsome guys Yashiro fantasizes about but he's really interested to know in what is Yashiro into.
Well, of course she likes all the most cliche stuff there is... kisses in secret, getting trapped in a small space like a closet to be as close as possible with a guy, hugging in a dark place, being called a "silly girl"/anything that sounds slightly embarrassing, and of course: kabe-dons (that's the thing where you're pushed against a wall 😂).
So turns out that Yashiro does actually like physical contact, huh? And being called weird names... but the thing that surprises Hanako the most is that there are a couple of pages about him too!!! Especially the day of the confession tree when he destroyed kodama, it was written that Yashiro's heart skipped a beat when he took his hat off. It made Hanako incredibly happy to know that he did have some charm even if Yashiro still prefers tall prince-charming guys it wasn't like his chances with her were zero! After that he felt really giddy... and really cocky. He would grin all the time with Yashiro and try some of the things he read in her journal. He would also take his hat off more often.
4) The school festival is soon! Yashiro's class wasn't really finding any good ideas, it was all cliche stuff like takoyaki stands, haunted houses, etc. Stuff that other classes will also choose and maybe do better than them. After some thinking Yashiro suggests a cafe from the 1960s, since Hanako was alive in those years. Maybe it would make him happy to see students walking in old clothes and all instead of always wearing the school uniform?
The day of the school festival Hanako was really surprised. Did we go back in time or something? Everything was really well done, it really looked like back then. Hanako wasn't really sure what to think of it since it made him remember some happy times... and some not so happy times... but when he saw Yashiro all of his worries were blown away! She was wearing a super cute and colorful dress from the 1960s, it made Hanako stare at her all the time. Tsuchigomori noticed of course and teased him about it.
"You're really staring a lot, huh kid? It would've been pretty nice if she was one of your classmates back in the day, wouldn't it?"
Hanako is a blushing mess 😂 They also put popular songs from the 1960s in the cafe and Hanako manages to recognize quite a lot of them! Though his heart really races when Yashiro sings along to one of the songs. In the end they both dance and sing it together! It was super fun for Hanako and he loved the school festival because of that. Yashiro admits that she was the one to come up with the idea to make him happy and Hanako is even more touched.
5) it's kind of spoiler-ish, but what if after number 6's arc Aoi is able to see apparitions too? It would be really cute if she can sense that Yashiro and Hanako have a crush on eachother so she constantly teases them to make them get closer. Aoi really becomes the wingman(/wingwoman?) of Hananene, she does everything she can to make them embarrassed and self-conscious. She even gives advice to Hanako on how to flirt with Yashiro since she's her best friend she knows a whole lot about it. As for Yashiro, she gives her tips on how to "seduce guys" and encourages her to "try them out on Hanako to see if it works" *wink wink nudge nudge* but of course it always works on Hanako no matter what Yashiro does...
6) This is more of a AU idea since it's a bit OOC but, imagine if Yashiro becomes super flirty with Hanako when she falls for him? Like Hanako is just teasing/borderline trying to seduce her as usual but then Yashiro answers back with something even more daring and Hanako just becomes a blushing mess. It's literally the
"Why did you run away?!?"
"I didn't expect her to flirt back!!!"
meme 😂
Of course Hanako always clinges to Yashiro so there's nothing new there, but when Yashiro clinges to Hanako? Oh boy.
The poor guy can't align 2 words anymore. He's stuttering and wondering what's going on.
It would be funny if Yashiro is the agressive kind of flirt, the type that always roasts/shames her crush when she tries flirting. Most of the time she's trying to be nice about it but unconsciously most of her flirting is almost a roast session.
The worst (or best) part is when they're alone because Yashiro can say all the shameless stuff she can't in public 😂
Stuff like:
"Hey, you really are a perv for haunting the girls' bathroom out of all the places there is in the school. I bet that if I couldn't see you, you would probably look at my underwear, wouldn't you? 😤"
Or
"It's not fair that you're always making me clean the bathrooms without any rewards... won't you at least give me a kiss on the lips? That's like, the minimum you can do. 🙄"
A kiss on the lips is the minimum?? Then what's the maximum?!?
Hanako is literally dying inside, anytime they're alone he panics, he's like "oh god it's coming, what is she going to say this time??"
How the tables have turned. Yashiro beat him at his own game 😂
Welp. That's about it for now. Which one was your favorite? I'm gonna be honest, mine is the Yashiro agressive flirting one! It really makes me think about that one Miraculous Ladybug fanfic where Marinette is throwing daring pick-up lines at Adrien left and right. Unfortunately I don't remember the name but it's a really popular one! You can probably find it easily, it's on tumblr and AO3 if I remember correctly.

“Old AU/fanfic ideas I’m probably never going to write” dump
(Long post warning)
---
“Full Circle”, first fic I came up with when I got into the fandom around early 2018, your basic next-gen fic except the main focus is on the student council, who all somehow wind up involved in the case of Ayano’s daughter, Kataba (which is a dumb name in retrospect). Kuroko is Kataba’s teacher, and Akane is the guidance counsellor. Aoi and Shiromi don’t actually appear until after the first rival is killed (pretty early in the story), when Aoi - a bodyguard at Saikou Corp. - is sent to the school to watch over Megami’s son, and Shiromi is a detective/journalist assigned to the case. Weirdly enough, Megami’s son Haruki ends up being the one to trigger the “senpai effect” in Kataba
I had some ideas for rivals:
Haruki’s close friend Emiko, kind of a flirt. Gets stabbed to early in the story for the audience to really get to know her
Rikuto, leader of the gardening club, and a very emotional guy who may or may not have been suffering abuse at home. Iirc Kataba drops something heavy on him in the shed to kill him
Kano, leader of the (now-official) gaming club, grumpy and rude but has a soft spot for cute things, kind of a depressed attitude and maybe has drug problems. Gets driven to suicide
Kazumi, leader of the art club, an energetic girl who’s popular around the school, but a daydreamer. Suffering from an unwanted pregnancy
Chika, leader of the science club, cold and distant personality, others call her “ice queen”, looks up to Kaga who now has his own huge corporation. Kataba sabotages her experiment (a small robot) to quite literally blow up in her face at a science convention, which kills her
Isamu, leader of the school’s kickboxing team. I never really fleshed him out tbh
Tamotsu, leader of the delinquents, infamous throughout the school and has the kind of personality you’d expect a delinquent to have. I don’t remember the details of how I planned to have him eliminated but I think Kataba found some way to get him killed by a rival gang
Sadashi, a timid and quiet new student who moved from elsewhere in the country and is struggling to adjust to life at Akademi. Again, I don’t think I fleshed her out as much as the others, but there was something about her trying to get into the student council
Masumi, Haruki’s childhood friend whose family is constantly moving around for business reasons, but is always texting and video-chatting with him. Just like Haruki, she’s extremely rich and is one of the only people who can really relate to him. A very calm and polite girl. If I'm remembering right, I think she actually survives, but gets kidnapped and tortured by Kataba and never really recovers from the trauma
The tenth rival is actually Haruki’s bodyguard, Aoi. By this point in the fic it’s all gone to shit, there’s a missing person’s report out for Masumi, Akademi is in a state of panic and many students have stopped coming to class, and there’s been talk about shutting the school down permanently. The focus is kind of split between everything that’s going on (Masumi, the state of the school, Shiromi’s investigation, Taro and Ayano’s marriage falling apart, Kataba trying to kill Aoi) instead of just focusing on the current rival
I think had one idea for a student who’s not a rival: a Midori-like student called Tsuki Muun... but she was a gag character more than anything
There are other canon characters who appeared in the story, like Ayano and Taro, Megami (though she doesn’t play a major role), Info trying to help Kataba for her own benefit (I had a vague idea about her going undercover as one of Shiromi’s coworkers and trying to sabotage the investigation), possibly Osana and/or Hanako, and I considered having Oka show up as a ghost
Taro is kind of an ongoing obstacle for Kataba and is the one who rescues Masumi from the basement (he also hits Ayano with a chair when she tries to stop him from taking Masumi to the hospital by threatening him with a knife. King behaviour)
Kataba is actively trying to sabotage Shiromi and her coworkers. Early on in the story she kills Shiromi’s search dog as a “warning” to her
Shiromi and Taro end up becoming close friends whilst she’s investigating his daughter’s crimes. Ayano gets kind of suspicious but I don’t really remember where that ended up going. Also there’s this whole scene where they break into Kataba’s room while she’s out to find her bulletin board with notes/pictures of all the rivals and how to eliminate them
Aoi is not only Haruki’s bodyguard but his godmother as well, and he calls her “auntie”
There’s some conflict between them because he feels that she’s too overprotective and, being a teenager who wants to hang out with his friends, he doesn’t want some middle-aged woman lurking over his shoulder all the time
Over the story they start to resolve things and grow closer. Aoi supports him when he feels insecure about not living up to the “perfect” image of his family
Since the story would take place around 20 years in the future I think I was going to take some liberties with technology and stuff like that, especially during Chika’s week
Akademi’s uniform also changed over the years to something more fitting for a high school, the number of students attending grew much larger, and their sports club/martial arts club were replaced with something closer to actual high school sports teams
---
Supernatural creature AU, where everyone except Taro and Hanako is some kind of monster/creature/etc.
Taro is oblivious to everyone around him being monsters and thinks the school he attends just has a lot of weird students, but he’s an accepting and non-judgmental person so he just takes it in stride. Hanako, however, knows what’s going on and has to constantly keep Taro from walking straight into danger
Ayano is a demon who Taro unknowingly sold his soul to in exchange for a bag of chips, and now she wants her repayment. She and Hanako are almost constantly at odds with one another, but on occasion they team up to protect Taro from a “greater threat”
Instead of an occult club (because I think that would be kind of obsolete in this AU), there’s some kind of support/therapy group for undead creatures like zombies, ghosts, vampires, etc. Oka decided to start it because of the struggles she’s faced as a zombie
The sports club are all aquatic monsters of some kind. There’s at least one merman in there
The science club are aliens and/or have some kind of “artificial human” theme going on (robots, Frankenstein-esque creatures, etc.)
The gardening club are all fairies - the kind who do things like tending to flower gardens and cleaning around your house
Shiromi, on the other hand, is more of a “trickster” kind of fairy who steals shiny things/valuables, gets people lost in the woods for fun, and may or may not eat human flesh (Hanako makes the assumption that she does and tries to save Taro from her). She doesn’t get along too well with most of the gardening club
Akane is a banshee who ends up serving as the student council’s “alarm” for when someone is dying
Aoi is some kind of reptilian/dragon creature who can breathe fire, but probably can’t fly
I don’t think I ever got anything set in stone for the rest of the student council. I was thinking of making Kuroko or Megami a seraph but that doesn’t really fit in with the “monster” theme
One of the bullies is a shapeshifter of some sort
At least one of the delinquents is a werewolf
Iirc the existence of monsters/supernatural creatures wasn’t common knowledge even in this AU and Akademi was created as a “safe” school for them to get an education without the threat of being discovered by humans. How Taro and Hanako got in... nobody knows. Maybe someone thought the two of them were a little too average and had to be hiding something
Most of the other students at Akademi are aware that the two of them are humans, and some find them fascinating or like to mess with them. Others are wary around them and try to avoid them out of fear that they’ll react badly. The rest of the students are just horribly confused and trying to figure out what they are
---
Aoi x Shiromi biker/mechanic AU
Aoi is part of a biker gang, but her bike is an absolute rustbucket that’s constantly breaking down and there’s only one reliable repair shop in the small town she lives in. The mechanics keep suggesting that she gets a new bike but she has a sentimental attachment to her old one and doesn’t want to get rid of it. She’s gonna get fined for driving it eventually
Aoi doesn’t get along with her family in any AU it seems, and trying to stay away from the house as much as possible led to her getting involved with the biker gang (probably with the martial arts club members). Luckily, the gang she’s a part of is much more benevolent than the other major gang in town and mostly acts in defense of themselves or others. They’re politically active more than they are actually criminal, and the illegal things they do basically amount to protests and the like
The “rival gang” is the delinquents. They’re the ones who commit more crimes like theft, vandalism, drug trafficking, etc., and usually do what they do for money. They’re not afraid to use physical intimidation and violence to get what they want. Both gangs often wind up in trouble with the law for collateral damage during their fights
The delinquents hate Aoi more personally than the other members of her gang because of a) the amount of problems she’s caused for them and b) a rivalry with their leader, Osoro, which dates way back to high school. Aoi gave Osoro that scar on her face, and Osoro damaged Aoi’s eye badly enough that it had to be removed
Kaga and Shiromi’s parents died at some point when Shiromi was in high school. Kaga was already an adult at that point, plus a mechanical genius, and was old enough to take over the repair shop. He taught his little sister everything he knows so that she could help him after she graduated. They live in a small apartment right above the shop
Shiromi usually winds up being the one to repair Aoi’s bike (or at least helping) and the two of them start bonding over that
Most of the people around Shiromi’s age (19-ish in this AU) left town to attend college somewhere better, or get a job elsewhere, so she’s found herself lonely a lot since she graduated high school. Sure, there are the other employees at the repair shop who she gets along well with, but they’re all significantly older than her and she can’t really connect with them the same way she could with her friends from high school. She’s grateful for the opportunity to talk to someone close to her own age for once and potentially make a new friend (though Aoi doesn’t really want anything to do with that at first)
At some point Aoi comes in seriously injured after a fight, but denies that she’s hurt. Shiromi convinces her that she needs to go to the hospital and gets her there
Kaga already has some protective-older-brother tendencies (which Shiromi hates), but it practically doubles when she starts hanging out with Aoi and the rest of Budo’s gang. She knows Kaga just wants her safe and uninvolved in gang conflicts, but by this point she’s really attached to Aoi and wants to keep seeing her, so Kaga backs off under the condition that Shiromi stays on her guard and doesn’t go out at night
As Aoi and Shiromi start hanging out outside of the repair shop more often, the delinquents realize that Aoi has someone close to her that they can use to hurt her
They start making threats against Shiromi just to provoke Aoi, or otherwise messing with the two of them. After a fight in which Umeji suffered a major head injury that hospitalized him, and Osoro’s gang lost the drugs they were trying to sell, Osoro makes the decision to kidnap Shiromi to lure Aoi in and beat up/possibly kill her. They succeed in the kidnapping, but it falls apart when Shiromi tricks the guy who’s supposed to be guarding her and escapes on her own before Aoi even shows up
After this incident Kaga is full-on freaking out and forbids Shiromi from seeing Aoi, blaming her for Shiromi getting kidnapped. The two of them keep communicating through text and Shiromi sometimes sneaks out to see her
Before the story takes place Aoi wasn’t super close with the other members of the gang - they were acquaintances more than anything. Over the course of the story she gets closer to them and starts to learn more things about them (like the fact that Budo is/once was in the same situation as her - in love with a girl (cough-Oka-cough) whose family wouldn’t let her near him because of his lifestyle)
There’s a whole arc focusing on Aoi’s parents trying to get Aoi out of the gang, not because they’re genuinely worried for her safety but because they think their daughter being part of a gang reflects badly on them. They possibly try to get the other members of the gang arrested
After this arc, Aoi moves out into her own place near the repair shop, and Shiromi and Budo help her move in
Aoi and Shiromi end up happy together, Kaga and Shiromi resolve things between them, Aoi no longer has to deal with her parents, Budo ends up with Oka, the other gang members resolve their own character arcs, and the delinquents end up in jail

Magical girl AU which, tbh... I never really fleshed out. It was mostly an excuse to draw cute magical girl outfits. But I did have some stuff down for it!
The placeholder club leader/now the empty demon is the “Kyubey”-type thing that gives all of them their powers
I never really figured out whether I wanted to take a dark route or a more light-hearted one with this. I think my favourite idea would probably be something in between, though - not super grimdark and edgy, but not all sunshine and rainbows either
All of them got not only powers and weapons, but also enhanced physical abilities like running faster, jumping higher, increased strength, increased durability, and more stamina. But those abilities would only take effect while transformed. I was thinking one of them would get used to having enhanced abilities and keep trying to do things they can’t actually do in their normal daily life, which eventually gets them hurt
Kuroko has some sort of rifles and the ability to form hard-light shields to protect herself or others
Akane’s weapon is a bow for which she can produce as many arrows as she has energy for. She also got the power of flight/levitation
Aoi has a sword, like a really heavy broadsword type of thing that she can somehow lift with one hand, and the ability to breathe fire
I think I was planning on giving Shiromi a weapon at some point, but I don’t remember what it was... My other idea was her not having one single weapon, but being able to produce as many small projectiles like throwing knives, shuriken, etc. as she needs. She can also become completely invisible
I don’t think I really had anything fully decided for Megami tbh. I had a vague idea of what kind of outfit she would wear but I never drew any designs (at least, not that I remember)
They definitely have to do some travelling around Japan at some point
Ayano may or may not have been an “evil magical girl”, I don’t really remember
---
Another one I didn’t flesh out a whole lot: the fic where a bunch of Akademi students go on a camping field trip
Info attends school as a normal student in this AU and is part of the group that goes camping
It’s Ayano, Info, Osana, Megami, Kuroko, Akane, Aoi, Shiromi, Osoro, Kaga, Taro, Umeji, Budo, Itachi, and Tsuruzo
There’s a scene where they’re all gathered around a campfire telling horror stories. Kaga offers to hold Megami if she’s afraid. Megami is not afraid, is sick of his shit, and tells him to go sit somewhere else
At some point they need more wood for the fire, but nobody wants to go into the woods to get it, so Shiromi tells the boys that whoever brings back the most wood can have a date with Akane. It gets most of the boys off of their butts for sure, but Kuroko scolds her for it. Shiromi just says that, once they’ve got the firewood, it’s not like they actually have to go through with their end of the deal. Kuroko heads off into the woods to collect some herself
Kuroko ends up bringing back the most wood and waves Akane off, saying that she just did it so that she wouldn’t have to go to dinner with one of the boys, but Akane insists on giving her that date when they get home
Everything is going great with the camping trip until they wake up one morning to find Osana missing from the girls’ cabin. They spend hours searching before someone finally finds her dead in the lake
Everyone is certain that this wasn’t an accident and the mood immediately plummets. Almost everyone has their suspects and is at each others’ throats. The teachers who are supervising decide that they’ll all pack up and be ready to leave tomorrow morning
However, Itachi and the delinquents want to figure out who killed Osana and bring them to justice. One thing leads to another and all the students end up lost in the woods. At some point the delinquents suspect Info and attack her, which injures her and splits the group in two
After that I’m not really sure where things go, but everyone is trying to get back to the main camp and get home safely. Aoi is in the same group as Info and is hella suspicious of her as well so not everything is peaceful. There are some people in Umeji and Osoro’s group who are pissed at them for attacking Info and splitting the group. Taro is extremely upset by Osana’s death and Megami comforts him, which leads to Ayano plotting to kill Megami as well while they’re still here, and possibly hindering the group/trying to isolate Megami as a result.
---
I had a pirate/mermaid AU for Aoromi but I never wrote anything down for it - I just had a few really, really old sketches I never posted
Iirc, the general plot was that Aoi’s crew was struggling after the betrayal of Ayano and the death of the former captain Megami + many other crew members, and couldn’t really do anything but run from other crews who tried to attack them, their only advantage being that their ship was still the fastest. Then they fish up a mermaid, Shiromi, who they plan on selling for money to hopefully try and get back on their feet, but end up getting emotionally attached to her
---
Superhero AU which I think I’ve mentioned before but
Anyone with superpowers is legally required to work under the government to defend the citizens whenever they’re called, but they don’t get any pay or significant benefit from it so they also have to work other jobs in their civilian lives. This causes huge amounts of stress
There are some who formed their own group to rebel against this system, which eventually evolved into trying to establish a new society in which they are above those without powers. Info is their leader. Her powers revolve around hacking, not just technology but people as well (though the latter is a lot more complicated and difficult)
Hanako is a sort of “sleeper agent” who doesn’t actually know that she has any powers, let alone that she’s one of the most powerful. Info finds out before she does and brainwashes her. Hanako constantly finds herself “blacking out” and then waking up in her room hours later with no memory of what happened. Meanwhile, a new member of Info’s organization shows up under the name “Nemesis”
Kaga doesn’t actually have any powers, but works for Info and her organization anyway. He’s a technological genius who built himself some kind of Iron Man-esque robotic suit to fight alongside them. He believes that if he works with the “winning side”, when they eventually take down the government, he’ll be spared/treated better than the others. Spoiler: he won’t. Info is planning on discarding him as soon as he outlives his usefulness to her
Also Kaga’s codename was “Dr. Bluescreen”. Clearly the most intimidating name ever.
Homu is a robot and one of Kaga’s inventions. She ends up developing sentience and emotions
Seiyo and Ajia are rivals in both their civilian and superhero lives. They work as waiters at the same restaurant
Being born with powers also comes with enhanced abilities like speed, power, endurance, etc. Ayano doesn’t have any actual powers, but has all the other enhancements (maybe even more so than the others) and is considered one of them anyway
Megami’s power is to calculate her opponent’s weaknesses and adjust her own powers accordingly. It sounds good, but it’s not so great when facing off against more than one person at a time
Aoi has fire-related powers and is in constant conflict with the fire department
Kuroko can produce toxins from her body, Akane can fly, and Shiromi can camouflage herself or other objects/people
Info and Shiromi go way back and Info is constantly trying to convince her to come over to her side. Info may or may not brainwash her at some point which sort of sets off Kaga because opposite sides or not, that’s still his little sister
At some point I was thinking of adding a “middle group” who don’t want to work under the government but don’t want to put themselves above people without powers, either. Maybe the delinquents

Hello sorry to bother you. I would like to ask if we can get more information about Hanako and Kou's relationship in your Phantom Thieves Au? It's one of my favorites to read in your writings. It's okay if you don't want to reply, I hope you have a nice day!
Thank you, Anon! It is no bother, don't worry, I was just saving your ask for when I inevitably got in a hanakou mood. (they are my fav tbhk ship outside my awful trio, so I get hanakou brainrot at random.)
Thief Hanako is kind of an asshole, he can be cold and careless to most people, mostly focusing on himself and having difficulty getting attached. Is more common for him to approach someone because he wants to use them than because he is curious or intrigued. The reason he first looks at Kou is because of his status as a Minamoto, he wants to make him spill some secrets about their treasures and how their security works: He acts friendly, mischievous, and nice to get Kou's trust.
He learns quickly Kou is easy to manipulate and far too trusting, but he is no pushover, his reflexes extremely good, and his persistence to follow Hanako on rooftops and narrow alleys even after being led to traps and dead ends is intriguing. His ‘value’ decresses after Hanako learn Kou doesn't have any valuable information, so he starts visiting the cop less. Usually, he would have discarded Kou, but he find him funny, so he visits him when he is bored and mess with him.
He only gets a tiny crush when Kou fights with Teru for him, believing there is good in Hanako and that he deserves the benefit of the doubt. Kou bleeds for this belief, reducing Hanako’s sentence from 47 years to 2 years.
Kou visits him and checks on him while he is locked up. Hanako takes two weeks to decide to escape, stealing from Kou and running off, mocking him for being such a foolish guard.
Hanako knows how to flirt but not how to be vulnerable, and his moral compass is a bit… odd.. after more than a decade of stealing and living in apathy. So he constantly flirts and gets touchy but makes fun of Kou on the off chance Kou believes in his word, now even when Kou gets flustered he just assumes Hanako's flirting is an act, a mockery to mess up with him.
Hanako steals a lot from Kou, depending on his mood the thief either has a crisis about what was stolen that ends with him getting emo about life (Such as Kous cop cap. A grocery list that is far too…personal… compared to all the things he steals. A homemade sandwich. ) or a sense of giggly shame, something Hanako will treasure and never talk about it (Such as a picture of Kou at his training graduation that he keeps hidden with his money.) and in the off chance he steal something that is dear to Kou, he will, sneakily give it back.
Kou genuinely does not know how Hanako feels about him because the thief switches his attitude too much. One moment he is flirting and helping Kou, offering hints about any criminal Kou wants to catch, and “gifting” him stolen jewelry, the next he acts condescending and calls Kou a failure, the worst cop in the city, because a part of Hanako does hate him and how much he can hurt him: He hates getting conflicts of ‘not being a good person, not being good for Kou’ when he is used to not care about his lifestyle, he hates trusting Kou and being disappointed more than anything.
Hanako feeds into Kou’s “I am incompetent and no one needs me” insecurity a lot, especially after Kou starts caring about his opinion and craving his respect. But they are able to have peaceful conversations surprisingly frequently, there is a strange connection between them that makes it so Kou isn't taken aback when Hanako saves him from danger or shows worry about his well-being.
Hanako breaks into Kou’s bedroom sometimes. Usually Kou is asleep, so he just stares at him a little bit and steals something before going out, but when Kou is wide awake they chat. They once stayed until 4 am playing card games and avoiding the insecurities that come deep in the night.
Hanako and Kou are not dating, they remain oblivious to each other’s crush. The topic of love or dates is rarely touched at all.
There is a strange tension between them when Hanako attempts to run from his feelings with an elaborate heist and ends up with people injured. Hanako doesn’t care about scaring strangers but it does make Kou sad and frustrated, which he cares about.
On the few times Kou does catches him and drags him to prison is either tense or playful. When Kou is the one to catches him is not that bad, Hanako is oddly proud, even flustered. But with time Hanako is no longer able to trick Kou, so he is forced to stay in his cell for a while after being caught. Could be months. He is ironically Kou's biggest teacher and what made him better at his job.
Kou visits his cell regularly, sometimes they play cards. They never kissed. They never talk about their feelings. And they want the others to admire them, so they rarely talk about their fears. Is a strange bond.
Extra info:
Hanako is 22 years old and Kou is 24 in this AU but he still calls Kou 'Kid'.
Hanako wears heels but he is still on the shorter side, shorter than Kou at least.
Akane is the only one who knows Hanako has a crush, when he mentions it to Teru, the police chief starts hating Hanako more.
Hanako is rich, very respected, feared, and hated in the criminal business. He actually tried to buy an honest gift for Kou once, but Kou did not believe him, having fallen for the "oh no, this one isn’t stolen! I brought it just for you, you'll break my heart if you refuse it~" talk with items that are in fact stolen far too many times.
Kou is one of the very very few people that knows Hanako birth name is Amane. He does not tell this to his brother.

any Tsukasa headcanons? I feel like everyone sees him as this demon monster who has no personality aside from murder :/
Tsukasa is an interesting character for me because he’s actually my favorite Yugi twin but I hate when ppl try to justify his actions…however some people go the opposite way and treat him like he’s a heartless villain with no depth so I end up defending him. Ppl get weirdly ableist abt it too it’s crazy. Tsukasa Yugi they could never make me hate you.
Now onto the headcanons
• I’m a firm believer that Tsukasa is adhd coded (I have adhd and I recognize my own kind)
• Specifically bcuz of the scene where child Amane said smth to Nene abt how Tsukasa would lose it if they didn’t play his favorite game at the festival, and due to the way he acts in movie theaters
• There’s room for debate over whether or not it can be called “coding” but you’ll never convince me that boy was intended to be neurotypical (autistic Tsukasa truthers are also valid)
• Since Sakura compares him to a cat I like to imagine he gets really clingy and cuddly with ppl for like 30 mins and then flips a switch and tries to bite them like cats do
• From “somebody hug me rn” to “touch me and I’ll kill you” within the span of a few minutes
• He takes a very “when I’m bored but then I remember I have a sibling” approach to bonding with Hanako. If the Broadcasting Crew and Mitsuba aren’t interesting him, he’ll pop over to Hanako’s bathroom and annoy him
• Not the kind of torment we see in the series though, he’ll just make annoying noises or keep asking Hanako to play games with him
• He likes animals but he’s terrible with them. Too aggressive, think of those poor fish
• I’m an aroace Tsukasa intellectual. I cannot see him caring abt romance beyond mild curiosity and his perverted behavior in the series seems to just be to mess with people/get reactions out of them as he’s known to enjoy doing (as opposed to Hanako’s pervert behavior which is pretty genuine, albeit comedic)
• His favorite subject in school was geography
• He doesn’t genuinely like many people besides Amane. He has a soft spot for Sakura and Natsuhiko though
• This is so far from canon but I think it’s funny to imagine that the entity inside of him is the TBHK equivalent of Venom. There’s still some debate over whether the current Tsukasa is entirely the entity or whether they share one being and I lean towards the later but I have this crack au/concept where the entity is like a little devil on his shoulder
• Sakura: What would you like to eat?
The Entity: The souls of the innocent👹
Tsukasa: A bagel
The Entity: Nooooooooo👹
Tsukasa: Two bagels
• Again, definitely not how it works in canon but it makes me giggle
• He really likes pumpkins and pumpkin flavored things
• FNAF kid
• He’s a massive extrovert in the sense that he gets his energy from being around other people, and he much prefers to be in a group than alone
• If he’s alone for too long he gets bored and agitated so he can usually be found in the presence of Sakura, Natsuhiko, Mitsuba, Amane, Mei, etc.
• Sometimes he’ll even hang out with Yako (I feel like they’d get along seeing as they both have rather sharp personalities, and I don’t think she’d judge him for his violent tendencies the way others do)
• When he was alive he had a lot of friends, pretty much the polar opposite of his brother
• He doesn’t feel guilty often but when he wants someone to forgive them, he’ll bring them a gift like a cat bringing someone a dead mouse
• Sometimes the gifts are morbid, sometimes they’re normal
• He was closer with his dad than his mom, because while both of them were creeped out by him his dad tried to assume the best
• He’s very creative and likes to invent things. In another life he’d kill it on Shark Tank
• Because of this he really enjoys cooking! He’s surprisingly good at it when he’s not just making the most appalling thing he can think of
• He enjoys soccer (in a human au I like to imagine him, Amane, Kou, and Yokoo would all be on the soccer team together)
• Supernaturals don’t need to sleep but Tsukasa is the only one who doesn’t bother sleeping at all. Most of the others enjoy having some time to rest but he likes to remain alert 24/7
• He likes to play red light/green light but he says red light crazy fast to scare ppl
• If you were ever on a long drive with him he would 100% start singing “One Hundred Bottles Of Milk On The Wall” and not stop until you reached your destination
That’s all I’ve got for now, thank you for the ask!! I love Tsukasa sm

shijimeikme been hanging out with u guys long enough
shijimeikme alright ima clean up, tell me what happened
Nene was hard pressed to stay where she was while waiting for Amane to wake up. The sides of her phone case pressing uncomfortably into her palms as she gripped it tight enough that she could hear the plastic cracking. A slight fumble to keep from breaking it resulting in her phone smacking against her face and only Amane’s soft huff reminding her not to groan in pain. The throbbing on her forehead reminding her of the contrast, his lips soft as they brushed against her skin, leaving a kiss that was quickly drowned out as he sang the last line.
Looking her in the eye.
Just like —
She wanted to scream or kick out her legs or do something. Staring out the window as the evening sunlight slanted through, lightening the dark blue curtains and running over the carpet to the edge of Amane’s bed. His arm loosened its grip around her waist and Nene could move a bit easier but she stayed where she was. As much as she wanted to rant and rage, she found herself just laying there. Looking around the room and memorizing every inch of it.
His telescope in the corner.
A number of books on his shelf, rearranged in sequence, with a soccer ball propped up beside them. The dust collecting on the trophy hidden behind it. Posters of his heroes on dark blue walls, a mosaic painting of the Apollo 11 moon landing, the light catching and making the moon shine. The glare catching on the dark screen of his television, a shelf beneath it with books and games organized on either side, his system tucked away in the cabinet.
How many hours did she spend here playing games with him when they should be studying?
His slight grin when she won and rubbed it in his face only to start up another game while she wasn’t looking.
Would that all change because she knew now?
Looking down at him, her breath hitched when he started to shift and his eyes slowly opened. His cheek brushing against her chest as he raised his head, resting his chin against her chest and staring up at her with sleep-glazed sunset eyes.
“Yashiro,” he called, voice husky with sleep. “What time is it?”
Nene’s eyes widened and she fumbled for her phone, pressing the home button to see the time and another message from Mei.
“About five,” she said, shifting from beneath him as carefully as she could as he rolled to the side. “I should start heading home.”
She chose to wisely ignore the way that his voice made the back of her neck warm or twist her stomach in knots when he looked her way. His eyes were oranger than gold, or was it golder than orange? If she got a better look. Zipping her bag shut with more force than necessary, she downed the thought before it could grow any further. There was no way she could do that. Being that close to him —
Standing up abruptly, her knees almost buckled but she forced herself upright, picking up her phone from where it laid beside him. Amane lying on his side and peering up at her with a soft grumble, his fingers curled in the sheets.
Why.
She pressed her phone to her chest, holding it tightly, trying to slow the racing of her heart. He looked so vulnerable, small as he curled up in a ball, his eyes squinting to avoid being blinded by the light. Wide eyes that looked up at her with trust and fondness, faint dark circles beneath them showing he could use a bit more sleep, and his smile. It wasn’t teasing or cat-like but wide and warm, crinkling his eyes at the corners and stealing her breath away.
Oh no, she couldn’t do this.
“See you tomorrow, Amane,” she blurted out, gripping the strap of her bag and hurrying downstairs.
Tsuchigomori raised his hands as she flew past him, peering at her curiously. “Where’s the fire..?”
“I just have to head home, parents… y’know.”
Lying to him was so difficult. Not only because he was a teacher but he always seemed to just know. His hum was judgmental and she could feel his gaze on her back, analyzing her with a scrutiny that might have made her crack if she looked back at him. Tugging her shoes on, she stood and bowed deeply.
“Bye!”
Throwing open the doors, she looked down at her phone, squinting against the glare from the light.

Amane’s phone screen went dark, reflecting his own flustered face, and he grimaced at the sight. Dropping his phone to his chest and burying his fingers in his hair as he squinted at the ceiling. It’d long since gotten dark and Tsuchigomori ordered takeout, Yako coming over, and their usual bickering distracted him from his thoughts. Insisting that he’d be heading off to bed when he was only paying partial attention to one of their arguments that he’d been drawn into. Weighty sharp gazes following him and their voices were hushed as he disappeared from sight, no doubt trying to glean the meaning for his behavior.
How was he supposed to tell them that he might have scared off the girl that he liked because she was trying to make him feel better? Hell, how was he supposed to justify it to himself. The heels of his hands pressed against his eyelids, making the stars on his ceiling blurry and his eyes water. Deep down, he almost wanted to cry.
It took him a full six minutes to register Nene’s hasty goodbye and another two to hurry after her with the insistence of walking her home. She didn’t hear him, tapping away at her phone, her shoulders hunched and steps brisk — reminding him of that day. A muffled curse behind his hand as the memory came to mind.
The day was perfect. Like a scene out of her favorite movie, and her eyes were so warm and trusting. She believed every word that came out of his mouth. And that was it. He meant it, meant that he liked her, perhaps not love but he did like her and —
He hurt her.
Ruby eyes glistening with unshed tears, the ones that managed to slip free in silver streaks down her cheeks were quickly wiped away as she jerked away from him. The dull ache in his head from her headbutt was nothing compared to the sharp pain in his chest. Seeing her walking away from him, rubbing her eyes from tears he caused, all because his intentions were good but his method wasn’t.
What more could he do but apologize to her?
Could he really expect her to believe him when he lied before?
His phone slid off his chest as he shifted onto his side, pressing his cheek against his pillow, the smell of earth and something sweet filling his nose.
Nene.
It could only be her. And he mentally kicked himself, burying his face against the pillow and clutching it tightly.

nenehime besides power imbalance???
kannoaoi mhm
nenehime miscommunication
nenehime … oh
kannoaoi oh (✿◠‿◠)
Flower emojis were supposed to be cute but somehow Aoi could make them both that and absolutely threatening. Locking her phone screen, Nene stared at her own reddened faced worried her bottom lip between her teeth. Black Canyon rolled across her pillow, colliding with her cheek and she closed her eyes with a sigh. Letting her phone fall to the side, her hands cupping around the mischievous hamster as she sat up and tucked her knees in close.
The contents of her bag spilled out over the shag carpet, her books face down and obscuring the heart shaped design from view. Her gaze drifting to the ceiling then her curtains, the stuffed animals and movie posters barely discernible in the low lighting. Her teal hair falling in her face as she rested her head against her knees, nuzzling against Black Canyon’s fur. Honey and brown sugar from the shampoo that she used bathe him still fresh. Pressing a kiss to his head, she set him on the floor and let him run around, pushing the ball that he’d come to claim as his own.
Black and white, checkered just like the one in Amane’s room, bumping against her dresser and the walls. Sitting back with her head against the wall, she almost wished for the glow in the dark stars on her ceiling. Checking to make sure that Black Canyon wasn’t nearby as she toed off her bed, bending down to pick up the objects from her bag. Her books heavy in her hands, thumbs running over the embossed titles.
What was she going to do come tomorrow?
It wasn’t as if she could just hide in her room or avoid him. No one was at fault but the knots twisting in her stomach and the fear of having dashed hopes meant something. Pressing her lips to the spine of her book, she tried to remember the warmth of his hand and the gentle press of his lips against her forehead. That wide smile, soft and all for her.
I just wanted them to stop making fun of you.
Was it really that bad?
If he liked her and she liked him, did anyone else really matter?
And even then — why would anyone tease for her liking him when he was so…
Draping her bag on her chair, she tip toed over to the window and pulled the soft cherry pink curtains, opening her window slightly to let the cool air come in. Her arms crossed on the window sill and chin resting atop of them as she looked out at the cityscape. Thousands of lights wavering in the distance, dancing as her eyelids fell and she sighed. The moon wasn’t out tonight and she wondered if he was dismayed by it.
He kept track of the moon phases on his calendars so she doubted he didn’t know but she wanted to check anyway.
Though with the way she left, would it be alright to text him?
Was he offended because they didn’t talk?
Or should she just do it anyway?
They were still friends.
Black Canyon’s soft squeaks made her smile and she rested her cheek against her arms, watching him as he bumped the ball against the wall, trying to get it to change directions. Scurrying after it with all of the speed that his tiny legs could afford him.
Sometimes, she thought it must have been a lot easier to be an animal.
Like a hamster or a fish.
Lingering by the window for a moment longer, she sighed and drifted back to her bed, picking up her phone. The light shining in her eyes were momentarily blinding and scrolling through the recent messages, she found the thread with Amane and her finger hovered over it.
Yashiro, I love you! Please go out with me.
I love you.

nenehime no stargazing tonight I guess
nenehime amane
nenehime about earlier can we talk?
nenehime …please
Nene had never been one for flippant use of prayer. In fact, she tried not to pray for things that were selfish if she could help it. But right now, she really needed this. Even if it went wrong and something happened that couldn’t be taken back — it was better than this.
A gentle chime and a notification popped up on her screen. She pressed her phone to her forehead with a ragged sigh, sagging down to the floor. Black Canyon’s ball tapping her side as the hamster squeaked at her.

day 6 - reverse au
As I Thought, My High School Life with A Ghost Is Wrong (2040 words)
Our Very Shounen MC is Yashiro Nezu, grey hair with green tips, and bright red eyes. And don’t forget the little ahoge! It sprouted from his head like a little spring onion.
“It’s the start of a new term, I should join a club...” He scratched his head, ducking his chin as a gaggle of girls passed him by. “Where can I go to be popular?” He murmured under his breath, ticking off his fingers. “The anime club didn’t work out, neither did the supernatural club sadly...”
He sighed morosely, deflating as he filed into his classroom. Taking his seat second from the back by the window, he gazed outside. Nothing really happens in this school.
His longtime friend from middle school Aoi tapped him on the back at break. “What’s got you so eaten up?” He smiled, indigo hair artfully tousled.
Nezu stared at him. Abruptly, he kowtowed. “Please teach me your riajuu ways, O Crown Prince of the Popularity Rankings.”
The top spot, of course, naturally belonged to the Queen, with golden hair and blue eyes and charming smile, Minamoto Teruko. Whom he only dared admire from afar.
“Eh, this again, Nezu?” Aoi chuckled, leaning on his cheek as he pulled up a chair. “Have you found a club, first of all?”
“Not really.” He wasn’t particularly interested in any of the sports offered, but that was the logical path to popularity, really.
Aoi, darling prince of the school, was in the Gardening Club, and all the girls adored him for it, cooing over him from afar as he clipped and pruned roses. He could make it work, Nezu not so much. Beside the vegetable patches girls had giggled at him for looking like a radish sprouting from the earth. A radish! He covered his face just thinking about it now, terrifically embarrassed.
Aoi patted his shoulder consolingly. “Now, now. You’ll get there. But you should keep coming to the Gardening Club with me, Nezu. It was fun, wasn't it?"
"Yeah... it wasn't half bad."
"Mm, and you look very focused when you dig, Nezu. It's a good look on you."
"Really...?" Nezu felt his spirits perk up.
"Really! I'm sure you can continue to cultivate your 'manly charms' if you keep working out," Aoi said, mimicking him whining about his lack of muscles last time.
"Stooop." Nezu wrinkled his nose. "Some charming farmer I am."
Aoi laughed. "Alright, let me tell you about this cool new rumour that’s been floating around...”
“The girls’ toilets, are you for real.” Nezu said flatly after he had finished the tale.
Aoi raised an eyebrow enquiringly.
"That means only girls can go in to wish then," he groaned, slumping onto his elbows.
"Hmm, but it's the old building though, not many classes are held there. So you can just sneak in," Aoi suggested cheerily.
Nezu mock gasped. "Aoi-kun! I didn't expect you of all people to have this side to you!" He clapped out a hand to tousle his friend's head. "What would the girls say if they heard their Prince was like this..." He ruffled his head mercilessly.
"Nezu, please!" Aoi chortled, trying to wriggle free from his grasp. "Mercy, SOS!"
~
So he had said, but he was curious enough to actually consider trying. Walking casually down the corridor, he looked left and right. Coast was clear. Yashiro Nezu burst into the girls’ bathrooms, grey-green locks flapping about his ears.
“Phew, mission accomplished.” He passed a hand over his brow, huffing a breath.
He knocked and said the words. Even if it was nothing, it’d just be a laugh with him and Aoi later. Sneaking into the girls’ toilets for a wish, really...
And so here he was in this situation. He had let out a particularly girly scream he was not proud of, and Hanako-san was laughing at him. The Hanako-san was holding her stomach, laughing. Two white wisps bobbed alongside her.
It's a loli, thought Nezu with some fear, a loli ghost in a red mini-skirt-!
"Oya~ you're thinking pervy thoughts, aren't you?" The little girl snickered at him, stepping on his toes.
"Ow- wait, it doesn't hurt?"
"Just joking." She winked at him. "Now let's hear it, what's your wish?"
He stared at her.
She wriggled, affecting a sigh. "Ooh, don't stare so much, your eyes are burning through me~"
Nezu jerked away, extremely embarrassed. He heard her snigger. "No, I was just surprised you actually - offer wishes.” He peeked at her from a corner of his eye.
“I do! The rumours you’ve heard about me are all true!” Her choppy black bangs hung over her face as she floated over to sit on a toilet tank. “Of course, all wishes come with a price as well.” Her golden eyes glinted like coins. “Did you come here with a wish?” The corners of her lips curved in a smile.
Nezu swallowed. “I want to be popular,” he admitted quietly. “I want girls to like me and stop rejecting me for my height.”
Hanako-san nodded encouragingly, floating over with a notebook in hand. “And your name?”
“Yashiro Nezu. Does that notebook help you grant wishes like Death Note...?”
“My, my. You’re an imaginative one.”
~
How did this happen? Nezu despaired internally. It appeared he was now in a stand-off with a middle-school student, taller than him. And this blonde, blue-eyed guy had him pinned to a wall with a golden trident at his throat.
This was not how I wanted my first kabedon to be like, he thought wryly.
“Hey, listen to me! You know where Hanako is, don’t you?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, please let me go, kouhai.” I haven’t got my wish granted yet, I can’t tell him.
Besides, it didn’t seem fair to tell a towering guy with a weapon where a little girl is, even if she’s a ghost and has magic powers...?
“Liar, I saw you conspiring with her yesterday!”
Yesterday...? Yesterday he had been trying out all of Hanako-san’s suggestions, which had included smiling at and offering to help the Student Council President and Popularity Queen Minamoto Teruko carry some of her paperwork...
(Hanako-san had initially suggested bumping into her at a corner and then helping her pick up her things. Nezu didn’t have the guts for that, he knew his bishounen stats would not Pass.)
Oh, the boy beside her then.
“...you must have mistaken me for someone else.” He tried to deny.
The boy eyed him. “No one else has hair like you, senpai.”
Shit. Well then. “I’m sorry, I can’t tell you. Let me go.” He pushed at the arm.
“H-hey! Wait a sec-”
He walked away, shrugging off the boy’s hand. All that gardening work came in useful for this moment, huh.
“Wait, senpai!” The boy trotted beside him. “Let me explain. It’s my duty as a Minamoto to exorcise her!” Yadda yadda, backstory. He’d heard about Minamoto no Yorimitsu before. Was this guy still in his chuunibyo phase? “-barely managed to seal Hanako-san,” he tuned in right there, “she’s a dangerous spirit! You’ve seen her use her knife, right?”
“No...?” he said slowly, turning to look at Minamoto.
“She’s a murderer, she definitely used it in her lifetime-”
“Oh? Who’s been gossiping about lil ol’ me?” Hanako-san sat atop his shoulders, elbows on his head. Both boys froze.
Do not, Nezu thought with a chill, think about what’s behind me right now.
~
“Don’t you have something that’ll make me grow taller,” he griped, sneaking into the toilets yet once again.
“Drink milk,” she said sweetly, swinging her stockinged leg from where she was sitting on the window ledge. She was playing Hanafuda by herself as usual. Cards floated on their own accord.
“Or something that’ll give me that mystical bishounen aura with sparkles?”
She squinted up at him briefly. “I heard there’s this thing called plastic surgery.”
He gritted his teeth. “Stop messing around with me. You grant wishes, don’t you? But you haven’t pulled out anything other than that tatty manual!”
She looked at him, cards fanned out in her hand.“The more power the method takes, the higher the price.”
“If you don’t even tell me what the price is, how can I pay it?” He stared back, as he walked right up to her.
The air was tense as they stared each other down. She lowered her eyes in thought.
“You’re willing to pay anything?” Her eyes smouldered against the backdrop of the stained window.
He gulped. “Yes.”
~
Nezu stared at the silvery discs on his palm, glinting softly opalescent whenever he moved them. Unworldly, they were definitely magical items. Finally, the real deal.
But he could get any girl he chose to return his feelings with this...? Anyone? Was there a girl he really liked?
There was Minamoto Teruko, with the highest social capital.
She smiled at him when she made eye contact with him in the hallway. He smiled awkwardly back.
If he dated her, he’d definitely be popular. Not just a short guy with a baby face and radish hair.
He watched her move away, hand twitching to call out to her.
This... isn’t right.
~
“So you didn’t use them after all,” Hanako-san marvelled, seemingly amused.
“No... it felt like a date rape drug.” He scratched his head, sheepish. “I would have been just using her, whoever it was just because,” he ducked his head, “I want to be liked.”
“Hmm...” Hanako-san was in his face, amber eyes wide and affectionate, “You’ve actually got spine after all, I like you.”
“Eh?!” He leaned away from her, face reddening despite himself. “N-not like that!”
“Really?” She tilted her head, a teasing smile crawling across her face. “Who came in here begging to be a popular bishie with the ladies~” She singsonged.
“I-”
“Multiple times too~”
He deflated, defeated. He mumbled a vague assent.
“Though, I can still grant your wish, in a way.” She flipped one of the mermaid scales into the air, watching it spin.
“How do you mean?”
“Your wish for popularity stems from wanting to be liked. In conclusion, you want someone to like you back, or someone to like you more than you like yourself.” The scale landed on her open palm. She took it up in her fingers, pointing at him. “Am I right?”
“...you didn’t need to expose me like that,” Nezu said stiffly. “And?”
She looked into his eyes directly, a smile rising. “I like you. Ah-ha, not romantically of course, I’m a decades old ghost,” she laughed, flapping a hand at him. “And for the price...” she rose up on her tiptoes to whisper into his ear, “I need you,” he gulped, not breathing, “as a human assistant.”
“What?” He croaked.
She giggled, her breath tickling his skin. “You heard me right.” Her hand on his arm. “I need help in some things, so this arrangement should work out fine, right?”
“Wait, what things-” His head was reeling.
“Labour, of course,” She tilted her head innocently. “Oh wow, you perv~” She flapped at his back, exhaling laughter.
He tallied some things in his head. “So I work for you, and you just like me back? That’s it?”
“I gave you some good advice, didn’t I? You’ve been making progress in your social interactions.” It was true. He had been talking to people more, more people greeted him in the corridors now.
“What did I tell you? I dispense good advise, don’t I?” She kicked him lightly in the shin. “I can still continue to be your wise advisor if you choose to be my assistant,” she said, smugly.
“I see...”
“What do you say?” She stuck out a hand.
“...Okay.” Why not, he told himself, shaking her small hand. How bad can it be?
“Okay! For your first task~ open up.” She prodded the mermaid scale between his lips.
“Mm-!” He turned away. “Why? Didn’t you just tell me it’s cursed?!”
“It’s to sign the contract.” She smiled widely. “This bonds us in such a way I can find you, no matter what happens to you. Humans are so fragile after all.” She sighed.
Is this because you’re truly concerned for me or you’re afraid to lose a worker, he did not say. He sighed through his nose, and swallowed the scale.
Hanako-san smiled at him gently, and ate hers too.
He felt nothing. He thought that was it.
It was not until he got back home, when he got under the showerhead, that he regretted everything.
“Damn you, Hanako...!” Nezufish blubbed, flopping on the bathroom tiles.
//I’m unsure if the bond between supernatural and kannagi can just be their word or they all need some sort of binding item. Though I suppose it’s needed so Yashiro is partly supernatural so she can see supernatural activity, like enter Boundaries and such.
concept: try to make jshk an actual shonen anime. Kou remains male as a rival/foe. Though it came out as ‘Nezu becomes the star of a yes shonen comedy slice-of-life with lots of BL shiptease’ (it’s not really jshk anymore if Nezu can somehow fight because Hanako’s powers don’t work like that?)
Yes, there are fujoshi classmates that ship him and Aoi. And after what happened in the corridor with Kou they’re getting shipped too. Fuel for the rumour mill lolol
So he did become popular after all, just not the way he wanted pffftttt
On another note, the fic for day 5 has expanded into a monster of its own, so...it’ll take a while oof

hell O i love your phantom thieves au take so much. it's so good lsjdghs,
just thinking--what's hanako's opinion on terukane, once he catches on to what's happening between them?
(Phantom Thieves AU: Main post )
I'm happy you enjoy it, Anon! And poor Hanako would hate the power couple, his life has been going downhill ever since they got together.
Before Teru got involved in the phantom thieves case, Hanako used to adore messing with Akane. It’s so easy to anger him, and Hanako lives for a reactive audience! For the entertainment!
Hanako knows of Akane’s hatred for him, Akane never tried to hide it, but he never minded, aware Akane’s punch is nothing to scoff at but seeing him as a fun rival, a fire he usually doesn't get burned by. They only see each other at heist and since Hanako has way more experience being a thief, he likes to annoy Akane: sabotage the building before he arrives, feed the rumors that they are a duo, and sometimes, when a heist gets particularly hard, he’ll name drop Aoi-chan to stress Akane, make the guy so furious he starts calling people's attention, taking the focus away from Hanako.
The chief of the cops is a completely different story, he terrifies Hanako. He never falls for his tricks, he never shows what he is feeling, and his whip can break bones (Hanako knows from experience). Even when Akane and Teru weren’t dating, just in a weird alliance, Hanako had already been worried, not wanting Teru to have all the info Akane would be happy to share about him.
His fears are founded, cause he is caught and thrown in jail not even 1 week later.
Hanako is amused that Akane gets thrown in the cell right beside his, feeling a bit offended that Akane’s cell is way easier to escape than his reinforced one. When the older thief escapes, Hanako tries to convince Akane to steal a key to open his cell. He is very unsuccessful, which is fair enough, Hanako would have left Akane behind too if their roles were reversed, but it was still annoying.
When Terukane officially started dating, Hanako learned it in an awful way: He had just sneaked out of his reinforced cell after a week of planning only to see Teru pushing Akane’s hair and shamelessly making out in the prison hallway, which had an awful echo mind you, and the runaway thief felt so horrified, he ruined his entire escape plan by letting out a stranged sound of disbelief, calling Teru’s attention and being thrown back in his cell. Much to Hanako’s shock, a ruffled up Akane was thrown in his neighbor's cell a few minutes after.
Hanako will be palpably confused “Why are you in prison?” And Akane will smirk like a piece of shit and say some vague innuendo “Teru doesn’t like when I don’t bite where it hurts” instead of the truth, cause Akane knows it makes Hanako mortified and he is always miserable when he goes to prison, he feels like he deserves bullying Hanako, as a treat.
Hanako’s respect for Akane simultaneously raised to the roof and dropped to hell after that, cause on one hand, you need to be mad to play with someone as terrifying as Teru, but on the other hand, holy shit, what the fuck is wrong with Akane to date the chief of the police of all people??
Once he actually escapes, tricking a guard in training to fetch him the keys, Hanako is distraught to realize Akane is basically Teru’s personal informant. For as much as Akane will deny, they are a team now, and their teamwork is scarily efficient.
Hanako heists became way harder, and he doesn’t even get to tease Akane anymore. He tried a few times, delighted that threatening Aoi was still enough to make Akane go into a mad panic, but horrified to feel Teru's silent anger, promising to cut his tongue off if he caught Hanako stressing his boyfriend again.
Hanako is good at adapting, but he still gets caught a lot, to the point he genuinely befriends the guard in charge of his cell, baffled to realize he is Teru's younger brother.
His life is wild.
