[Translation] Rouge et Noir Short Story – “Happy Birthday: Ryo feat. Rei”

“What kind of gifts do you think would make men happy?”

It was mid-September when she asked me this question while waiting for the appraisal results in the lab.

“Men, huh.”

Stirring the drug sample in the test tube, I twisted my lips under the mask.

If one were to take her words literally, half of the world population would fall under the subject of her question. Unfortunately, I knew that the true subject of her question could not be anybody besides that one particular man out of the three billion.

In other words, it’s her boyfriend, the stone face working at the Port Bureau of Public Welfare, Drug Enforcement Department, Special Cross-Regional Investigation Team… Namely, drug enforcement officer Makabe Ryo.

Ah, that reminded me. It’s almost Makabe’s birthday.

I have no interest whatsoever in gathering men’s profiles, but in that guy’s case, thanks to the cursed ties between us, I thought it wouldn’t hurt to dig a little deeper.

Maybe that’s why, the mischief was apparent on my face.

If there’s a drama cd series that deserves a round of applause, that’s Rouge et Noir. I love how every volume it’s connected and everything makes sense. Eventhough I’ve only had the chance to listen to Vol 1 to 3 and Vol 8 bc I’m poor

But I love the characters and the scenarios. Also, the CV’s works are beautiful, they also deserve a round of applause

I hope in the future I can do a real review, but I’ll leave you this pic of me after finishing the volumes I found

多肉初心者　My Succulents

I heard that succulents are a cheaper hobby than cameras, so I started. I started with total ignorance, so I killed the first succulents. I decided not to make the same mistake and bought the next succulent plant. I studied with videos and books. On the other hand, I spoiled a new succulent plant and grew it indoors, so the stems grew too much. When I put the flowerpot on the balcony, I can't see it every day. When I put the flowerpots indoors, they don't grow up healthy even if I see them every day. That was a dilemma.In order to grow plants that grow in low humidity countries in high humidity Japan, I have to study them.

確か一昨年から多肉を始めたんだった。最初に買ったのはセダム春萌。見事に全滅。育てる以前に、維持する方法すら知らなかった。今は知識は若干増えたけど、まだまだ。

去年、自分の誕生日に多肉をいくつか買った。1年経ってそれらが成長して大きくなってんだか、マイナス成長で縮んでいるんだかすら不明という体たらく。

唯一、相性がいいのか我慢強い子なのか不明なれど、ハオルチア のシマシマゼブラこと十二の巻だけが子株を増やしてくれてどんどん大きくなっている。

教科書はYouTubeで、十二の巻を分けるときもup主さんがしていたように、えいやっと毟って分けた。いやー勇気がいるよね。葉挿しというテクニックがあるということを知ったのも動画で。虹の玉は葉っぱがぽろぽろ落ちるので、土の上にばら撒いておくと根っこが出て草体が復活する。一番下の写真がそれ。下から2番目の月兎耳も葉挿しで復活した子。

知らないというのは恐ろしいもので、シマシマゼブラと月兎耳と虹の玉を同じプランターに植えちゃったのだけど、シマシマゼブラは室内で育てるそうで、直射日光とかダメだそう。月兎耳は夏型と言って、暑いのには強いけど、寒いのには弱い。虹の玉は一番強くて、直射日光にガンガン当てた方がいいそうで、室内に入れると徒長しちゃう。最初、シマシマゼブラに合わせて南向きの窓にカーテン越しに置いていたんだけど、虹の玉、見事に徒長してなさけなくひょろひょろ。動画で虹の玉を赤くするには寒い中お日様に当てる方がいいって言っていたから、プランターごとベランダへ。するとシマシマゼブラの色がなんだか変。虹の玉はあまり水が不要で、月兎耳は水が好き。シマシマゼブラもそこそこ水が好き。虹の玉に合わせると、月兎耳が茶色くなってしまい、月兎耳に合わせると虹の玉が調子悪い。

わかった。ぼくが悪かった。知識がないのは罪。この春は、混ぜて植えているのを全部種類ごとに分けようと思った。

火祭りも、買ったときはもっと赤くて詰まっていたのに、室内でガラス越しの日光でいいかと思っていたら、寒さにも当てないと赤くならないそうで、今はほとんどずーっと外に出しているけどちょっと手遅れで微妙なピンク色。しかも徒長している。窓越し室内での日光浴はお日様の力が減じている。この子らは、直に当たらないと元気にならないんだ。

碧漁連は他の多肉と同じく水を控えめに育てていたら、なんだか小さくなって、下の方が枯れている。動画で見たらガンガン水をかけている。そうか。この子は多肉では例外的に水を欲する子なんだ。と気がついて、最近は割と水をかけているんだけど、復活してくれるかな。

ルドリッツは大きな葉がシワシワだから、水が足りないと思ってこの子にも水を結構与えているんだけど、一向にシワシワが取れない。これでいいのか？悪いのか？

かつてせっかくプニプニの可愛い春萌を買ったのに枯らしてしまった後悔を、2度としたくないから勉強して頑張る。適当なぼくに合わせて育ってくれれば理想だけど、湿度低い国から湿度高い日本に来てしまった彼らを適当に育てればまた枯らしちゃう。

PSA about In-Blog Search

(a.k.a. how to kind of navigate this blog in a sketch way now that Tumblr has destroyed the search function while dauri cries because she hates bad navigation)

Hi lovelies! 👋 Since the inability to search within my Tumblr was annoying me to no end, I looked into it and realized that yes, it is because this blog is soft-labeled as “explicit.” Fun. I haven’t found a clever way of fixing the search (yet), but there have been a couple of things I’ve realized while “tinkering” with things.

1. All posts tagged after the Great NSFW Purge™ are functioning properly in search. (Most likely because I removed a certain tag. 🤷🏻‍♀️) E.g. search for ‘Kumagai Kentarou’ on mobile. Hilariously enough, the Oyasumi Kareshi 13 post is completely blocked on desktop. (He doesn’t even have nips in the first place, Tumblr!!!! Not to mention female-presenting ones smh)

2. You can view all posts under a tag on mobile if you click on the tag you want to see posts for in the tag section of a post. (E.g. Press ‘hanakagami’ in the tags on mobile of this post and see what pops up.) It won’t work if I create a link for a tag and post it here... with the exception of this magic link *on mobile:

We’re almost done. Second week I liked every draw!! Days 20 - 26

Day 20: Alberich - アルベリッヒ Funny story: When I was searching for references, I found this Galaxy Card Battle with a pose almost the same as my draw lol, and I was too lazy to do another pose lol. And let me tell you how thankful I am to Netflix, they uploaded all the classic series and I've been watching it non-stop. Favorite anime ever, and Alberich is one of my favorite God Warrior

Day 21: Nyaha~ − にゃは~ Don't you love drama CDs? Don't you love Sawa? Because I do! This one of my favorite works if Sawa, so adorable *I just noticed I missed one part xd

Day 22: Sweet - 甘い I had the sketch of this drawing and I decided to finish it today lol

Day 23: Ancient - 古代 And who's the best example for today's theme? Elder Bananya! I'm loving S2 it's so cute and beautiful

Day 25: Happy Birthday! − お誕生日おめでとう! Happy bday to the best sunshine of this world! I'm trying new styles tho, I don't know if I should keep trying or give up, hmm, what to do?

Day 24: Kitties - 子ネコたち A lucky charm for my bro!! I know you can do it!

Day 26: Rouge Happy anniversary to one of my favorite drama CD series: Rouge et Noir! I love the scenarios and the characters. Yes, I know, technically I should've drawn Makabe because he's the first volume, but Van/Arlen is my favorite, so...yeah ※Arlen Clive is an original character from Hanakagami and the illustrator Doro, I just did this fanart for fun!!
