So like I want an Asagao AU where Hana sat with Brutalmoose/Ian and they end up becoming good friends and anyone who wants to date her has to charm Ian first so he can put in a good word for them or else he’ll bluntly brush them off to Hana. Hell yes, he does know it and uses it to his advantage to get free stuff.

Hana sat quietly in the back of the classroom like usual, listening to the teacher drone on about one thing or another, maybe some war? Hana wasn’t sure. Not that it really mattered anyway, because half the time she didn’t even actually teach the required content, but instead threw shade about her ex. Hana made eye contact with Mai, who made a gun with her fingers and held it to her temple. Hana chuckled quietly and turned back to the front of the room.

Her eyes drifted to the brown messy haired boy in the second row. PBG. He was so cute and so sweet. She had had a crush on him since they met. They had hung out a lot, but in a group, with the other Normal Boots boys. Mai told Hana all the time how she should just go for it and tell PBG how she feels and how she’s sure that he likes her too. Hana didn’t think so, that would be far too lucky, and luck was not something that Hana had a lot of. And she sure wasn’t going to ruin her friendship. She really enjoyed hanging out with him as just a friend and didn’t want to risk it. 

But he was so cute. And Mai was really good at detecting stuff like that. Hana decided it was worth a shot, and put together a plan

“Hey PBG!” Hana said brightly as she walked up to where he was standing at his locker. She was so nervous she didn’t notice the light pink spreading across his face when he saw her. 

“Oh, hey Hana! What’s up?” 

“Um, well I was just wondering if maybe, if you wanted to, maybe we could hang out? Like just the two of us?” She asked nervously.

“Sure! You wanna meet in my room and we can play video games?” He asked. Hana’s heart flipped in her chest, he had said yes!

“Sounds great, how about six o’clock?”

“Awesome! See you then, Hana” He responded before closing his locker and walking down the hall.

Hana screamed internally, that was so terrifying! But it was WORTH IT! She was going to PBG’s later and it would just be the two of them! She skipped back to her room, beyond excited for six to arrive.

PBG furiously straightened up the messy room. It was 5:55, Hana would be there any minute, and it was still a bit messy. She hoped she wouldn’t mind too much. He had convinced Jon to leave for a while so that it would just be him and Hana. He had decided this would be the night he would tell her how much he liked her. He started at a knock on the door. He rushed over and pulled it open.

“HANA!” he shouted. He immediately cringed at his stupidity. Hana giggled.

“Can I come in?” she asked shyly.

“Oh! Yeah of course, duh,” he said smacking his forehead. Hana giggled again. Things were going very well so far.

PBG looked at the clock. 7:13 pm. Hana had been there for an hour and he hadn’t made a move. He mentally beat himself up. Come ON man, she’s RIGHT THERE! He thought to himself. Hana was having a similar conversation with herself. She was startled when PBG said her name and pulled her out of her thoughts. 

“Hana? Can I tell you something?” she nodded. “I like you. A lot. I have for a while but I haven’t worked up the courage to tell you until now. And if you don’t like me I get it but I had to tell you, I just had to. And even if you don’t feel the same way I hope w-” 

He didn’t get to finish his monologue, before he had the chance to, Hana had reached up, placed her hands on his cheeks, and softly pressed her lips against his. PBG was shocked at first, but quickly wrapped his arms around her middle, pulling her closer to him. She was incredibly soft, and very warm. When he pulled away, he looked at Hana shocked, then smiled the biggest smile.

“Well, it took you guys long enough,” said a voice. PBG and Hana whipped around to see Jon standing in the doorway, leaning on the frame, with a smirk on his face.

The untold love story: chapter 1 not that girl. (Asagao Academy fanfiction)

This takes place right after PBG leaves the classroom to talk to Mai in Jared Chapter 2: Thank you.   

PBG stepped out of poppy hall and could see Mai’s long red hair ¾’s of the way to Primrose house, how was she so fast. He ran after her but by the time he got there Mai was already in her dorm. PBG could hear music playing (specificity this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ly_9rmOE-L8 : Not that Girl from Wicked) as he entered the hallway. It was as he drew closer he could hear Mai’s voice singing along to the song that was playing. As he got closer he approached her door her voice as clearer.

“Pink hair with cute bow, that's the girl…” PBG knocked on the door stopping Mai’s singing abruptly.

Mai got up from the puffy white leather chair to answer. “PBG, what are you doing here. Uhh… you didn't hear that, did you? Please don't tell Hana”

“Don't worry I won't. I… uh can I come in? I wanted to talk to you.”

“Sure,” Mai left the doorway and sat back in her chair.

PBG took Mai’s desk chair and placed it across from her. Leaning in close he whispered. “Do you want to talk about it?”

“PBG, I know we are kind of friends and all, but why did you come to talk to me, were my true feelings that… Does Hana know?”

“Yes, she does. She wanted to come talk to you, but I told her I would do it.”

“Why would you… OH,” realization hitting her like a brick.

“Shhhhhh… Quiet down would ya I don’t want the whole of Primrose house knowing my secret. I haven't even told Jon.”

“Sorry,” Mai whispered loudly. PBG made a jester with his hands and Mai got even quieter. “Sorry, so...You’re in love with Hana.”

“I wouldn't say in love per say, ok let's start from the beginning. Hana was my best friend as a small child before she moved away. I had a huge crush on her back then, and when I saw her walk in with Jon on the first day…”

“Your feelings for her came back that's too sweet,” Mai whispered. She knew by the way he looked a Hana it was real true love, not the puppy love she was in with Jared.  

PBG looked solemn, “I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone in this, I know how you’re feeling right now because I feel the exact same way.”

Mai grabbed his hand and took a pen from her pocket. “No, I can tell you have it way worse than I do. Here is my number, text me anytime you need a friend...Who at least a little bit understands.” Mai smiled and looked at him with those sad puppy dog eyes. There were brown flecks in his green eyes that were beautiful. Somehow the imperfections in his eyes made them even more beautiful, and for a brief second, they almost looked like sparkles. She really wanted to… to…, no she was just vulnerable right now and would have kissed Jacques if his robot bird form showed up at her door right now and said the same things. A sudden noise made them both jump. “That must be Hana,” the door opened. “Put my number in your phone and don't forget to text me so I have yours, ok?”

He took his phone out of his pocket “No worries. Hi and Bye Hana,” he said as he walked out the door, looking at his phone.

As soon as PBG left the room Mai got a text saying “Please don't say a word of anything to Hana.”

Texted back “I won't” she felt super guilty, she had to find out if Hana had at least the slightest feelings for him. As her best friend she had to make sure Hana wasn't missing out on true, unconditional love. Is what Mai told herself but deep down she knew the truth. She never wanted to feel the way she had felt when Hana told her she was thinking of asking Jared to the flower festival ever again.

‘Hey Bridget, we need to talk.’ Bridget spun round to see Hana looking away, unable to make eye contact with her. Bridget spun round with a smile, happy to see Hana. She wanted to be better friends with her 'Sure! What’s up, Hana?’ Hana looked down and shook a little. 'Woah, is something up?’ 'Oh, it’s just that what I need to tell you is important.’ Bridget sat down on the grass and gave the space next to her a pat, indicating that Hana should sit. Hana sat down and took a deep breath. 'You like PBG, don’t you?’ Bridget looked shocked and surprised that she had been found out, but nodded, a blush on her cheeks. She had been making it quite obvious. Always grabbing his hand, hugging him from behind and coming to almost every single soccer game. Hana smiled softly, but then looked sad, as she knew what she was about to say. 'He has feelings for me.’ Bridget looked like she was on the brink of tears. 'What do you mean?’ 'I mean he likes me, Bridget! I can tell by the way he looks at me, he doesn’t like you back!’ Hana covered her mouth. She had just screamed so loud that two girls behind them heard. Tears streamed down Bridgets face as her blood pumped so hard she could hear it in her ears. She stood up and ran. She didn’t care where she was going, she just needed to get away. She ran past the soccer field, a bad move. At the sight of PBG, she almost broke down. She turned around but for a brief moment, she caught a glimpse of PBG face; a mix of confusion and worry. As soon as Bridget got back to her dorm (that was thankfully empty) she got underneath her covers, hugging her plush koala that her parents gave her. She kept telling herself horrible thoughts. This is why you should have stayed at home. You are worthless, nobody would miss you if you went back home. Stop playing this act, you’re not strong and confident, you are a mess of anxiety. That’s when Bridget stopped crying. She laid on her bed in silence, the noise of the wind outside drifting her asleep. She woke up to a familiar knock. She didn’t move. It was him, she couldn’t talk to him. 'Bridget, it’s PBG. Let me in, we need to talk.’ The phrase “we need to talk” was definitely cursed according to Bridget.

‘Go away, I don’t wanna talk to you. What do you want?’ murmured Bridget.

‘…If I’m bothering you, I’ll go. Goodbye, Bridget.’ PBG sounded hurt. She didn’t show it, but she cared about him so much, even if he did like Hana. Bridget couldn’t help the way she felt, PBG was so cute, fun, loving. She just couldn’t stop thinking about him, even if she knew it wasn’t right. As soon as she heard PBG walk away, she started crying again. Nothing would make her feel better.

okay... but imagine... a la la land asagao AU? asagao academy is the best performing arts school in japan, and as hana is very passionate about singing her father spends all of his money to send her there. normal boots is a club trying to bring the 'old jazz' back. hidden block is attempting to bring it back in a new way. the video game competition is now a competitive concert. i feel like in this au, the best match for sebastian would be shane (i mean COME ON) but really any boy would be really cool! i mean, imagine pbg as him, imagine JARED... you get the point. mai could be super interested in singing just like hana, which would make for some really cute hana x mai moments... "city of stars" anyone? maybe pbg plays the piano sobbing in the background anyway what do you guys think? please add on!

PBG was twirling his pencil absentmindedly in his hand, anyinterest in Ms. Shizuka’s rant absent. He shuffled in his seat, stared at theticking clock for a few moments, and sighed. Everything she said drifted throughone ear and out the other. His eyes started to close as the warmth from theafternoon sun filled him and his teacher’s droning voice lulled him to sleep.

“…two to three partners for this project…”

His head shot up, nearly smacking against his chair. Jon lookedat him strangely for a moment, and then turned his attention back to the front.The project part was as uninteresting as ever, but partners…

He directed his gaze as discreetly as he could to the pink-hairedgirl who occupied most of his thoughts. Just looking at her made butterflieserupt in his stomach and the tips of his ears heat up. He had to admit it—onlyto himself—that he had a huge crushon Hana.

It wasn’t his fault he liked her so much. After all, he wasn’tthe one with the cutest smile when talking to friends, or the most adorableblush when complimented, or…

Or the black and yellow jacket hugging her frame.

His heart sank as quickly as it had swelled as he frowned at thetraitorous article of clothing. Yellow and black. Hidden Block colors. Tealwould match her sparkling cerulean eyes much better, in his opinion.

Peanut ButterGamer was startled out of his thoughts as Hana pushedher chair back and stood up, beginning to make her way to a different part ofthe room.

He jumped up, nearly falling over in his rush, and began hastilynavigating around desks and other students to follow her. Just because she wasin a different club didn’t mean they couldn’t work together! It’s not like theystopped being friends or anything.

Making his way around a particularly clustered group ofstudents, he once again tried to spot Hana in all the chaos.

There she was! Her pink hair bobbed as she moved, making herstick out. There was no way she wouldn’t want to be partners. PBG grinned as hecupped his hands around his mouth and blurted out:

“Hey, Hana—”

The mass of students parted to reveal that she had been chattingwith two other bumblebee jackets. Doubt stabbed at him as she turned to facePBG’s call.

She beamed at him and waved, while Luke shot him finger guns andIan decided on a nod. PBG recoiled, but quickly plastered a smile onto his faceas he raised his hand in a half-hearted wave.

The trio of Hidden Block members turned away from him and made atriangle of desks—Luke jokingly pushing Ian’s away as Hana smacked him—before sittingdown and beginning to plan out their project.

PBG’s smile slid off his face as he stared at them sadly. Hedidn’t realize his hand was still stuck in the air until Jon and Shane madetheir way over to him and Jon slapped his outstretched hand in a high-five.

“There you are! What are you doing all the way over here?”

PBG shook his head and turned to them, all smiles.

“I was just going to get some water, but I’m not thirsty anymore.You guys want to group up?”

Jon held PBG’s bag out to him and grinned cheekily. “Do you evenhave to ask?”

PBG smiled even wider as he dropped his stuff next to a desk. “Great!”

Shane’s eyebrow’s furrowed in suspicion, but he said nothing ashe and Jon started to rearrange the desks.

PBG allowed his smile to drop as he crouched under his desk andpulled out a notebook. Pretending to be looking for something in his backpack,he glanced once more from under his desk at the members of the rival club.

Luke had put his hat on a ruler and was trying to spin it asfast as he could. Irritated at this distraction, Ian swatted it and the hatflew into the air, finally landing askew on Hana’s head. There was a pause asall three of stared at the hat in shock. The tension was broken as Luke fellout of his seat laughing. Ian smirked and Hana giggled as she tilted the hatforward and did a little pose. It didn’t look like they would get much workdone today.

PBG swallowed the lump in his throat and wiped roughly at hiseyes. He couldn’t afford to do this. Not now, not here. Only one thought crossedhis mind as he stood up.
