Miracle P6

Hi guys!! I’m alive I swear...and I know I was supposed to update a long time ago but work...just kinda gets in the way hehe..Anyways, that’s no excuse and I feel terrible about not posting so Ima try to get a few posts up this weekend ><

Plot: What if it was love at first sight? Jihoons lost all passion for music after being wronged two years ago and right as he was about to quit, someone unexpectedly enters his life and changes it for the better

The stress was getting to you. There was no denying that the stress was getting to you but you kept it hidden well. The dance competition was only a week and a half away and you and Hoseok were spending a lot of time in the practice room perfecting your routine and you were in the process of finalizing one of your pieces for the showcase that Joshua was going to perform for you since you were no singer and often hid behind the curtains. To everyone around you, it seemed like things were going well.

Jihoon, Jin and Yoongi could tell you were stressed though. It was obvious to them as they saw you almost everyday and picked up on little things you did that were slightly out of character. You had a tendency to skip meals and spend a lot of time in your studio, at the same time Jihoon was busy with his music too and despite wanting to spend a lot of time with you, he still had to work on his projects as well in his own room studio. This meant that the two of you were communicating more through text and phone calls as opposed to seeing each other which was in a sense okay, but you also missed hanging out with him just as much.

Yoongi saw the significant change in you during your practices with Hoseok. The dance routine consisted of many flips and were times where you’d stumble on your landing and more often then not, Hoseok would have to catch you as you tripped. This was a big concern because the dance competition wasn’t far off and he knew you had to be in top shape but it was obvious you weren’t. Fortunately, your meetings with him didn’t take much energy and he was still satisfied with the work you were doing and rarely had anything to comment about outside of your exhaustion he could see but you always brushed him off saying that you were fine and just needed to get a bit of sleep. He knew you weren’t sleeping.

Jin was now home full time as Yoongi had warned him of what you were going through and the rest of the boys in the house were wary. You never ate with them and constantly locked yourself in your room working for long periods at a time, only to come out and get a snack. It got to a point where Jin started making meals and leaving them on your desk everyday. He would personally sit in your room with you to watch you work while you ate just to make sure you did it. Unfortunately, it didn’t sit well with him when all you would eat were a few bites before claiming you were full and proceeding to continue with what you were doing.

To them, you had become a literal zombie and it only got worse.

“Are you sure you’re okay?” Hoseok asked one day as the two of you were walking back to the house after a late night practice session. During the practice, you had messed up one of your flips and landed directly on your knee as opposed to your feet which was where you were supposed to land and despite you being able to walk, it was obvious that you were in severe pain.

“I’m fine...I just need to ice it when we get back to the house and I should be good for practice in a day. Please don’t tell the guys or else they’re going to have a major freak out and we can’t afford that right now” you responded as if you weren’t in excruciating pain. There was a throb in your knee but other than that, it wasn’t all that bad and you were sure it wasn’t going to bruise. “Plus, would I be walking if I wasn’t?”

“If you’re sure…” Hoseok said with a side glance as he opened the door, “WE’RE HOME!”

“Finally! Y/N did you forget your phone again?” Jin asked popping his head out of the kitchen and you gave him a sheepish grin, nodding your head. “Well, it’s been going off for the last hour so you should really check who it is.”

“Sorry Jin.” you said as you slowly walked to your room trying not to limp, you could feel Hoseok’s stare on the back of your head as you opened your room door and closed it in order to change.

Once in the safety of your own room, you let out a sigh of relief, happy that you made it this far and started limping towards your bed.

“Why are you limping?” a voice behind you asked catching you off guard and you ended up falling as your knee gave way.

“Y/N?” the same voice asked and you looked up to come face to face with your boyfriend who looked incredibly concerned.

“Geez Jihoon, make some noise next time.” you said as he came to kneel next to you, “What are you doing here?”

“I finished my projects that I had to do and wanted to see my girlfriend.” he responded as he helped you up and sat you on your bed before sitting down himself. “Where were you?”

“Dance practice with Hobi.” you said wincing as you tried to lift your knee. “The competitions in a week and a half and we still have a few loose ends to tie.”

Jihoon nodded his head as he saw you struggle to bend your knee and helped you take off your dance shoes. “Are you okay? Did something happen earlier?” he asked and you could hear the concern in his voice which made your heart melt.

“I just had a little accident.” you said giving him the sweetest smile you could muster, “I’ll be fine in a day or two though.”

Jihoon looked at you, like REALLY looked at you and all he could see was pure exhaustion radiating off of you. You had eyebags deeper then a skeleton and your shoulders were slumped to the point where he was supporting you to stay up. It had only been two weeks since you saw each other for a long period of time and he was shocked to find that you weren’t taking care of yourself. “I’ll go get you an ice pack” he said standing up but your hand on his wrist stopped him.

“Please don’t...I don’t want the other guys to know..” you said looking down, “We’re too close to our deadlines and the last thing I need from them is to worry.”

“They worry because they care babe.” Jihoon reasoned but sat down anyways just as a knock came to the door and Hoseok poked his head in with a tray.

“I offered to bring you your dinner today Y/N” he said with a small smile before placing the tray down on your desk and producing an icepack he had hidden under his shirt. “And here. Jin made enough food for two.” he said offering the icepack to you but Jihoon had taken it and held it to your knee he now had on his lap.

“Thank you.” you said with a small smile, “I appreciate it.”

“Take care of yourself.” he said as he opened your door, “Though I’m sure Jihoon will be able to help with that now so I’m not so worried. Have a good night you two.”

“Night Hobi” you said as Jihoon waved.

Once the door was shut Jihoon let out a sigh and continued to hold the icepack to your knee.

“You’ve been stressed…” he said softly holding your cheek in one hand. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

“You’ve been busy with your projects too...I didn’t want to bother you so much.” you reasoned and Jihoon let out a quiet scoff.

“You know I’ll always make time for my girlfriend.” he retorted and shifted so you were now leaning on your bed frame and he went to get the food Hoseok had brought and placed it on the little table that you had next to your bed. “Yoongi called me today...he said you haven’t been yourself and wanted me to check on you.” he explained as he made you a bowl of food as well as himself.

“Traitor.” Jihoon heard you mutter under your breath which made him chuckle.

“Baby...What’s going on?” he asked as the two of you ate.

“Nothing.” you responded, “I’m just starting to feel worn down...it’s normal at this time of year.”

“It’s not supposed to though.” Jihoon said placing a hand on your knee, “Especially when you have an awesome boyfriend like me to depend on.” he finished with a grin which earned a giggle from you. “But boyfriend also has a weird ex who is stalking me around campus to this day...did you know she transferred over?” you asked and Jihoon nodded.

“Cheol told me the other day...has she done anything to you?” Jihoon asked wanting to know if Hana was a contribution to your stress.

“Not...really?” you said with furrowed brows, “I can tell that she wants to talk to me...but I’m not sure about what and with me being too busy and all because of school and dance, I can’t find the time to even care much…”

“Good, you shouldn’t care about someone like her.” Jihoon said as he reached into his pocket and brought out a braided leather strap with a metal charm on it, it was similar to the one that donned around his wrist except the charm on yours was rose gold, “I’ve been meaning to give this to you for a while now but we haven’t really met up soo..”

“What is it?” you asked as he put it on your wrist. “Since when have you been into couples jewelry?”

“I actually...got this for Hana when we were dating but she never really deserved it so I never gave it to her.” he explained, “This is a thank you...a thank you for believing me, a thank you for changing me into a better man...A thank you for depending on me...and a thank you for letting me depend on you. It’s a reminder for you to know that you can always look to me in your time of need too. You’re my miracle, baby. I wouldn’t be the man I am now if you weren’t in my life.” he said softly, wrapping his arms around you and bringing you to his chest.

“Awe Ji…” you said looking down at the bracelet while tearing up, “You...you’re amazing and I know that you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. These last few months have been amazing with you.”

You leaned your head up so your lips could meet his in a tender kiss and your hands that had the bracelets on them intertwined.

“Can you stay tonight?” you asked, you missed him so much and it was nice to have him by your side. Jihoon nodded to his bag he had in the corner of the room.

“Already intended to.” he said kissing your lips once more. “Now let me take care of that knee of yours, the competition is literally a week and a half away.”

The two of you spent the rest of your night talking, kissing and cuddling before settling down to watch a movie on your laptop. When Jin came to check on you a few hours later, he was happy to see you bundled up under Jihoon’s chin and wrapped in his arms, the hands that had the bracelets on them intertwined on top of the blanket.

A few days later, you were on your way to the dance studio to meet with Hoseok and Seungcheol whom Hoseok had asked for his input on the competition routine. Unfortunately, Jihoon had a meeting with Yoongi so he couldn’t walk you from his class over but promised he would meet up with you once you were done.

Your knee had healed, despite the slight ache you felt whenever you bent it. You had spent almost two hours convincing Hoseok that you were fine to compete though he did not believe you at first, but after running through the routine almost flawlessly, he gave in.

“Hey you!” you heard someone yell from behind just as you were at the top of the steps only to see Hana walking towards you. She had caught you at the best time too since Seungcheol nor Jihoon were around and you could only curse in your head at your bad luck.

“Can I help you?” you asked pretending not to know her and tightened your books to your chest.

“I want you to stay away from Jihoon.” she said harshly, “He doesn’t need you in his life.”

You raised your eyebrow at the immature girl, “Excuse me? And you are…”

“Don’t play stupid, you know who I am.” Hana said with a glare, “Stay the fuck away from Jihoon. He’s only using you to get over me and I want him back so you better let him go.”

Oh my gosh, Hana was acting like a high schooler and you had to think about what Jihoon had seen in her all those years ago. You were already running late and didn’t feel like arguing with her but her comments irritated you.

“I’m sorry...Are you a high schooler? Cause that was pretty immature, of course I know who you are Hana.” you said with a glare that matched her own, “The person who stole his work, the person who broke his heart and his trust. The person who got kicked out of her old college because her department had FINALLY caught her plagiarizing other peoples work. Who did you leech off at your old school once Jihoon was gone?”

“I did no such thing” she denied, “This isn’t about school, this is about you and Jihoon. If you don’t let him go, then I’ll have to teach you a lesson.”

“Yea, good luck with that.” you said, “You are aware who I’m related to in this school right?” You never liked using the big brother card but with Hana, you had no issue. Especially since she had threatened you.

“Who cares!” Hana yelled and then something caught your attention. The bracelet on your wrist with the charm. She had been with Jihoon when he bought it all those years ago and promised to give it to her on one of their anniversaries but he never did and now, it was on your wrist. This triggered her immensely and she growled, “That bracelet...is supposed to be mine!” You looked at Hana and down at your bracelet, “Jihoon gave it to me as a gift. I don’t think it was ever meant to be yours.” you said as Hana took a step towards you making you back up slightly, she had this look in her eyes that were giving you signs that things were not going to be okay. Inwardly, you groaned. You left your phone at home again and couldn’t call anyone to help you. The campus was also practically empty since it was dinner time so it was only the two of you around.

“It is mine...he bought it for me but never gave it to me.” she growled and grabbed your wrist, she obviously didn’t care how close you were to the stairs at this point and you were sure that she was in a state of blind rage. “Give it back! It belongs to me! Jihoon belongs to me! You already have everything you need! The student body presidents your brother, the top music producer from this school is your brother and you’re one of the most popular people in this school! So just give me whats mine!”

“Let go of me!” you yelled back, “Stop acting like a spoiled brat! Nothing BELONGS to you, you need to EARN everything you do. Instead you STEAL peoples music because you don’t want to work hard for your own! Why do you think Jihoon left you in the first place?”

That statement was the final straw for Hana and it triggered her immensely and the next thing you knew, she was trying to rip the bracelet off your wrist. “Give it to me! You’re the spoiled brat here!” she yelled and you dropped your books to try to get her off of you.

“Let go of me I said!” you said trying to get her iron grip off of you but the next thing you knew, Hana had scratched your arm so hard that it made you gasp in pain and you felt your foot slip. You rolled down the five steps which would have taken you to the dance studio and heard a crack in the process.

Had you not been short on sleep or as stressed as you were, you figured you could have fought her off but because you were so tired from staying up late the night before things didn’t go accordingly and Hana had successfully pushed you down the stairs. The only thing that she didn’t succeed in, was taking the bracelet off of you but she was going for that next. But before she could take a step down the stairs, two voices yelled from behind her.

“Y/N!”

“Hana!”

Seungcheol and Hoseok, who had been on their way to the dance studio themselves saw you and Hana fighting from afar and were running towards you when they saw her shove you backwards.

By the time they got there, you were at the bottom of the stairs clutching your knee in pain, trying to hold in the tears that were threatening to fall . Hoseok was quick to get his phone out while Seungcheol pulled Hana aside and started yelling at her.

(Across campus)

Jihoon sat with Yoongi in his studio where all the magic happened and the two were having a conversation about one specific piece.

“So you think she’ll know its for her? Jihoon asked as they listened to the song.

“My sisters not dense...she might cry though..” Yoongi said with a grin, “It sounds great and she’s going to love it. Good job.”

“I should thank you though.” Jihoon said looking at his mentor, “If it weren’t for you, I would have never met her...and we wouldn’t be where we are now. I would still be in this messed up slump and probably would have given up music by now.”

Yoongi smirked and ruffled Jihoons hair, “I knew from the moment I met you that you’d be perfect for her...you really compliment her well as she does you. It was only a matter of time that the two of you would meet. You have too much talent to give this up Ji.”

“I know that now...because of her. Honestly though, I fell for her the day I saw her at the cafe and thats when I didn’t even know who she was. She just looked…,bright, happy and the way that she spoke with the barista as if they had been friends for ages really warmed my heart.” Jihoon said looking down, “I think I may love her already…”

Yoongi nodded his head in approval, “Good, cause I’d have to kick your ass if you didn’t” he joked and looked at his watch, “We’re just about done here...why don’t we go grab a bite to eat and then pick Y/N-”

Yoongi’s phone rang and he answered it when he saw Hoseoks number.

“What’s up?” he asked as he heard Hoseoks frantic voice.

“What the f...Who the heck did that to her?”

Jihoon’s ears perked up at the anger in Yoongis voice and saw that the man now wore a scowl on his face,

“For fuck sakes...we’ll be there soon. Don’t move!” he said and stood up quickly grabbing his jacket while hanging up.

He looked at Jihoon and all the younger male could see was anger and fear.

“We gotta go, it’s Y/N.” was all he said and Jihoon was quick to get up as Yoongi yelled out the door.

“JIN! WE GOTTA GO, GRAB A BANDAGE AND AN ICEPACK!”

Soon the three men were out the door, almost running across campus to get to you and to see what was really going on.

It was the one time that Yoongi cursed that dance department being on the other side of the school.

By the time they got there, they saw many different things. A group of students had crowded around the group, Seungcheol was now standing next to a guilty looking Hana who had snapped out of her rage once Seungcheol had yelled at her and the other members of the BTS frat house who were on campus were also present.

Jihoon felt the anger build inside him, of course this had to do with Hana. He mentally cursed himself for letting you walk across campus on your own which left you vulnerable to her and his only priority now was to make sure you were okay.

When Hana saw Jihoon approach, she tried to reach out to him, “Ji...i-it wasn’t my fault.”

“Shut the fuck up.” he said in his coldest voice as he walked by making her flinch, “If my girlfriends injured because of you, don’t think I’ll hold back and trust me, I’ll get the story from her.” he said as Yoongi told everyone to move out of the way so they could get to you.

Seeing the student body president and Yoongi approach did just that and what they saw made them cringe.

You were at the bottom of the steps, which thankfully were only about five down, holding your knee to your chest and they could tell there was swelling since you were wearing your dance shorts and a bit of blood from the concrete.

What broke Jihoons heart was that you looked like you were trying to hold in your pain though your face was beyond red. Hoseok was softly speaking to you, trying to get you to allow him to inspect your knee but you couldn’t move nor speak and you just held your knee tightly to your chest.

“Y/N” Jin said as the three approached you.

Jihoon was quick to be at your side while Yoongi and Jin more or less forced you to let go of your knee.

He took your hand in his which made you look at him and he wiped the tears that had fallen with the pad of his thumb.

“J-Ji…” you whispered trying to hold in your sob, “it hurts sooo much.”

“I know baby…” he said softly as he pushed your head to his shoulder and stroked your hair, “Let Jin and Yoongi look at your knee and just focus on me okay?” he whispered in your ear.

The smell of Jihoons cologne was comforting and you tried to focus on him stroking your hair instead of the pain of Yoongi and Jin looking at your damaged knee. You felt the tears that had been threatening to spill come out and was thankful that Jihoons shoulder let you hide them. You hated crying in public.

Jihoon felt you slowly relax in his arms as he continued to stroke your hair and whisper in your ear. “It’s going to be okay…just focus on me...I’m here for you baby…”

“We’re going to have to take her to the clinic. Her knees too swelled up to see if anythings broken.” Yoongi said as he applied the icepack and Jin started wrapping it around your knee.

“Namjoon went to get his car and is on his way.” Hoseok said. “I already called ahead to the doctor the dance team uses and she’s going to take her in immediately.”

“You guys go to the clinic with her.” Jin said standing up once he was done wrapping your leg and glared straight at Hana, “I’m going to deal with what happened here and I’ll meet you there after.”

MEKA Roles and Design

So I’ve talked a bit about these new MEKA designs with some friends, and I’ve been seeing people asking for a bit more depth to the analysis of their design features, and how MEKA would work as a team unit! So with my love of all things fictional engineering, I decided to take a crack at it. Going from L > R I’m gonna talk about different noteworthy aspects of their designs, and how that’d reflect their roles in a cohesive unit.

Jae-Eun: Casino So the first things first is the streamlined, almost jet-esque design of Casino. Paired with it’s light artillery and slender design makes me think that Casino’s purpose is high speed precision fire- taking down specific targets and threats rather than handling swarms of enemy combatants. While the team focuses more on crowd control and cutting down numbers at large, Jae-Eun is sent to focus down things like disabling enemy artillery or other important weakpoints in a giant Omnic.

Yuna: D.Mon D.Mon is by far the bulkiest MEKA of the bunch. With Heavy armor, plenty of thrusters, and a larger cockpit fitted with an additional display, Yuna (in classic Red fashion) leads the MEKA squadron as their strategist and close quarters brawler. D.Mon has strength in defensive force and durability, and with it’s lack of visible ranged weaponry, probably fights on the actual Omnic itself as an infantry trooper. The additional display is to coordinate information from Overlord without clogging up her own visual field in combat.

Hana: D.Va We know plenty of D.Va’s kit already from playing her, but putting her in context of her team really shows how varied Hana’s kit is. She’s got CQC shotguns, longer ranged damage missiles, a powerful defensive matrix, and strong thrust that keep her in good pace with fast enemy omnics. This suggests a generalist responsible for team coverage and supportive pressure. She helps her team’s damage engage upon the enemy and cover their weak points. This also explains why her MEKA is so uniquely responsible for it’s high number of solo-kills: it’s got a little bit of everything in it.

Kyung-Soo: King King seems to be the ranged damage that contrasts Casino’s quick burst fire. With a heavier focus on King’s Micro-missiles, as well as longer, more rifle-like fusion cannons, King’s design suggests fighting more from a distance, laying down suppressive fire and shutting down large areas and clusters of enemies. With what looks like the basic amount of thrusters King is not a fast-moving MEKA, but holds a lot of influence over the field, much like his namesake.

Seung-Hwa: Overlord With Overlord’s large fan blades, multiple deployable drones, and a nose-mounted defense matrix, this design seems best adept for staying in static aerial positions, and observing the fight from the distance. Overlord can stay up in the air without burning thruster fuel and can monitor enemy movements and report them back to D.Mon. The Matrix mounted on the nose only protects the cockpit if the incoming damage is coming from an upward angle. Very combat-light, as there’s no real visible artillery on Overlord’s design; Seung-Hwa’s responsible for shot calling target positions and keeping their team out of harm’s way.

Needless to say a lot of this is just pure speculation and built around just what I think these designs are best suited for. But it was still fun to think up these anyways! Hopefully we’ll eventually get to see MEKA fight as a complete squadron, and I can see if I even got half of it right.

'Hey you.'

Drake looked up from his seat on the couch to see his fiancé approaching, slightly unstable from all the alcohol she'd consumed on this relaxing night in with their friends.

‘Hey yourself,’ he replied, smiling at her.

Now that Elizabeth had moved into her own duchy, games nights with their close friends were becoming a regular occurrence lately. Currently Hana was on the piano while Liam and Maxwell were squaring off in a game of pool. Elizabeth had almost made it to the couch where he was sitting when her foot caught on the edge of the plush carpet, pitching her forward towards him. Drake’s hands reflexively shot out to catch her falling body before it could hit the ground.

‘My hero,’ she teased as he settled her on his lap. She was obviously very tipsy and Drake was reminded of this when she pressed a sudden kiss to his lips, tasting the alcohol in her mouth before she pulled away.

‘You know what?’ Elizabeth asked abruptly.

‘What?’ He prompted, smiling slightly because she was always so adorable in her inebriated state. Conversations with her like this were far from boring, he quickly learnt that after the first few times.

‘We don’t have any nicknames for each other!’ She burst out too loudly, making him wince a little.

He raised his eyebrows. ’Nicknames?’

‘Yea y’know,’ Elizabeth slurring slightly, as she leaned back into him. ‘Like that scene from Pride and Prejudice.’

‘Guess this would be the time to say that I haven’t actually seen that movie..?’ Drake replied, thoroughly confused.’

She gasped, sitting upright in his lap. ‘You haven’t seen Pride and Prejudice??’

‘Umm… no?’

Elizabeth heaved an exaggerated sigh as she turned to face him. ‘Well at the end theres this suuuper cute scene where Elizabeth and Darcy are sitting together watching the lake. Like after they're married and stuff, like we are going to be…’

She trailed off to give him a drunken but sweet smile and he couldn’t stop his own one from growing as the thought of spending the rest of his life with her came to mind. She continued to smile sappily at him until he cleared his throat.

‘Uh Richmond.. you were in the middle of saying something?'

She jerked upright again. ‘Oh right! Yeah anyways once they’re married, Lizzy tells him that she wants to be called Lizzy for every day, My Pearl on Sundays and Goddess Divine on special occasions.’

‘And you want me to call you Lizzy for every day, My Pearl on Sundays and Goddess Divine on special occasions?’ Drake asked in amused surprise, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips. He couldn’t wait to tease her mercilessly for this when she was sober.

‘Noooo,’ Elizabeth whined, swaying a little and Drake wound his arms around her waist to support her, eyebrows piquing at her next words. ‘Thats soo… extra. I mean like cute things like baby or darling or schmoopsie poo-‘

Drake snorted loudly, barely able to control himself from laughing uncontrollably, ‘Schmoopsie poo??’

Her face fell into a pout. ‘Draaake I’m being serious about this..’

‘Alright,’ he shifted into a more formal position, fighting to control his expression. ‘What do you want me to call you then?

Elizabeth screwed her face up in thought. ‘I do like the usual cliche names like baby, babe and stuff. Do you know any of those in Greek or something?’

‘You mean like αγάπη μου?’

Drake heard a sharp intake of breath from Elizabeth as soon as the words left his mouth.

‘What does that mean?’

He smiled, tugging her chin slightly to bring her closer before whispering against her lips. ‘It means my love.’

‘Guess you’ll be expecting me to call you that all the time then?’ he chuckled after she released him from a long passionate kiss.

'You can call me Liz for everyday - actually if you stop calling me Richmond, its gonna feel weird. ’

‘You want me to keep calling you Richmond when we’re married?’ Drake queried.

‘Hmm I guess not,’ she responded after a moment of thought. ‘Though being called Walker will take a bit of getting used to. But I’m looking forward to that.’

Elizabeth was smiling at him so adorably that Drake couldn’t help but wind a hand around the back of her neck and pull her in for a deep kiss. God he couldn’t wait to marry this woman.

‘What do you want me to call you?’ She asked when they pulled apart for air. ‘Just Drake is fine.’

Her pout returned. ‘But I want to call you something cute too. How about sweet pea?’

Drake winced. ‘Ugh no. No sickly sweet names for me Richmond. I can easily live the rest of my life without them.’

Elizabeth didn’t seem to have heard him. ‘Sure thing Mr Marshmallow.’

His eyes widened. ‘Richmond…’

‘What’s wrong Mr Marshmallow Man?’ She asked with an innocent smile. ‘You don’t like your new nickname Grumpy pants?’

‘Liz..’ Drake's voice held a warning now but she ignored it.

‘Don't like those?’ Even tipsy, she couldn’t help egging him on just a little more as she counted off her fingers. ‘What about honey bunch or sweetie pie or cinnamon ro- AHH!’

At that moment, tired of her teasing Drake launched an assault of tickles on his fiance, curling his fingers against her sides until she was writhing, squealing with laughter and surprising all their friends.

‘Ahh Drake stop itttt,’ she choked out between giggles.

‘What was that?’ He asked smugly, unable to resist for just a minute more. ‘I don’t think I heard you... What's my name?’

‘Marshmallow.’ Elizabeth grinned up at him before letting out another squeal when he continued to tickle her.

‘Alright fine fine,’ she gasped out, conceding. ‘Drake it is.’

‘Good,’ he punctuated with a quick kiss to her lips. 'I’m glad we got this sorted out.’

‘Good morning,’ Drake murmured to the heap of blankets beside him.

It was 9 am the next day and he was already showered and dressed before heading to Elizabeth’s master bedroom to wake up his fiancee. Instead he’d found a massive mound of blankets in her place.

‘Mgnnn,’ it grunted back.

‘I thought you’d say that after the bender…’ He chuckled, stroking the top quilt before leaning in and lowering his voice. ‘Schmoopsie poo.'

Elizabeth ripped the blankets off her face abruptly, glaring at him through sleepy eyes. ‘What did you just call me?’

‘Nothing you didn’t ask me to..’ He replied giving her a devilish grin.

‘One night of drinking doesn’t count as a bender Mr Walker,’ She accused grumpily, sitting up in bed. ‘Surely you know that.’

‘Of course I do, Mrs Soon-To-Be-Walker.' Drake watched Elizabeths eyes softened in a way he just couldn’t put into words and unbidden he leaned into her open arms and she immediately pulled him down to bed with her. He paused before they could begin.

‘Uhh Liz.. you might wanna brush before we do this.’

‘Oh yeah sorry,’ she agreed, rolling off him and heading towards the bathroom. ‘But be warned, husband-to-be, when I get back we’re not moving from that bed until it is absolutely necessary.’

He felt his lips curl into a smile before calling out after her. ‘Whatever you say Schmoopsie poo!’

1. Which of your MCs would win the Hunger Games?

It's not always the matter of strength, skill or even will. It's also about how lucky that MC is.

I'll go for THOBM if she's recovered from the loss of her bro. (Funny huh? but I gave her a somewhat survivor background due to her family).

But if TRR MC was strip of her emotions, she'll display each head of my MCs in front of her castle. I HC her to have the ability to adapt in any environment and grasp ANY skill at a short period of time (maximum of days), which could take a normal person to master for years. And if she lost the ability to feel, she'll see no difference when painting a beautiful picture, playing the piano or killing her friends (whether its an aliens, a vampire or Burger King)

My MC Hunger Games would be:

Badasses dying. (ES, Hero, ILITW, BB, PM etc.)

Empaths semi-surviving (TF/TS/TJ, HSS, RoE etc.)

Dark Horses winning. (THOBM, TRR etc.)

Yeah...I have a thing for that. Sounds boring? Sowee! Hehehehe!

I dont know if my badass MCs are just weak, or the not-so-badass characters just outsmart them or if its a matter of pure luck. I dont know, but I think thats the reason why its fun.

Endless Summer MC, thats never gonna change...I think.

3. If only ONE LI (from any Choices book ever) could be transported into your real life and be your real life partner, who would it be and why? (I hope you get what mean)

Oh gosh...the most beautiful is Eleanor Waverly! Like everytime she appears on my screen or whatever, Hallelujah Chorus by Handel Messiah is playing! She's so perfect in personality and looks, it's like God made her directly from Heaven----!!!

Sorry I got carried away...the most beautiful is Eleanor but I think the prettiest is Hana, Madison or Asian F!Hayden.

12. Which male character (from any book) is the most handsome in your opinion?

It's Kingky King Liam ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) or maybe there's still someone I forgot but

RAAAAAAJJ!!! Omg I soo love him!! He's so dorky yet got that hidden smarts and loves to cook uber delicious food plus he's so huggable and has an awesome shirt collection!

I'll go for TRR and RoE. I'll wanna steal their wardrobe.

The parade was so impressive, the ladies looked so, soo, sooo GORGEOUSLY beautiful, it made the young woman blush. Only if she were half as pretty as them. Not that she envied them for their beauty and grace. No. The cost of their beauty held a darkness she knew all too well. Something she luckily escaped. Even so, the familiarity of longing to a past long gone made her feel homesick. Not sick in the sense of what was to come if she had stayed, it was the homesickness of Hana and all the others. They were her home and family, and now she was left with no one else. Saya was left on her own devices in a rapidly changing world.

Streets filled with foreigners from the far west with Japanese women hanging on each side of their arms. Ladies of pleasure who held no beauty and grace, they were tainted by bitterness and all the ugliness done to them. Not that any of these men could see, they smiled just as pretty as the ones she was admiring. It took one of their own to see how broken they truly were. It made Saya feel sad for them, she was one of the lucky ones, she was free…

The crowd of people gathered in the street blocked the view for a moment, it made her pout at them. Quickly squirming her tiny frame between them. There. The prettiest of them all!! The highest ranking courtesan. An aura of pure bliss oozing off her, the bumble bee was lured in by the scent of the golden chrystantum. The most beautiful woman alive!! A sudden snap of reality hit her when she passed by, taking in all of her features from up close. This… NO… HANA!!

Her Hana, her best friend Hana from back in Kyoto!! What was she doing here?! Saya visibly panicked, if Hana was the empress of the night in Tokyo, how was she ever going to get her out?! She promised to save her from this life… She fell to her knees and started to cry. She needed help. She needed someone to get Hana out!!

Okay, wait that sounded a bit wrong here. Whoops. Now let me elaborate.

I am not even sure if they will ever reach a friendship level, given the current situation and their interactions with each other. Joe is Hanas superior. And damn, she knows that and acts like that. This woman loves power and loves to be in charge. She will abuse her position.

And well… Hana might be the one suffering from that. While I love how she fights back actually and shows sass and won’t have Joe walking over her, well…this might have consequences. Depends on Joe’s mood honestly.

And there is also their age gap. Like damn, Joe will treat her like a child from time to time, like she is still immature, still too pure and too naive to be effective at all. And there comes another thing to my mind: what if Joe starts to protect Hana after some time has passed? Like. She is still soo young. Probably full of hope. On the wrong way if she stays in Talon. It might be that Joe will starts to see herself in her, how she got lost and got astray on the wrong way. So, perhaps, in a twisted way, she might want to protect her and make her overthink her decisions.

I don’t think there will me a friendship really, bit I kind of want a relationship where they don’t like each other, but Joe acts like a mom sort of???? and Hana starts to trust that doctor because Joe is usually frank about her intention s and stuff.

Oh well.

Let’s see how this continues!

gift of the fish man

ahhh i finally did it! i finished a fic after about a year and a half of writers block and no drive! this a junkfish and fisherman Mako fic inspired by the art work by @brundle-bambi !! thank you so much for your beautiful art work.

i hope you guys enjoy!

Mako walked to the hidden pier just as the sun begin to appear over the oceans waves, causing them to look like fire. He normally didn't come this early but Jamie had been acting weird the last two days. The merman looked tired all the time and his belly seemed to be getting larger. Mako worried that he might have some kinda mer-parasite, stupid as that sounded, how was he to know if merfolk had their own parasites or not.

Mako made his way to the end of the pier, hoping Jamie remember that he was taking him to his house. Mako know his bathtubs isn't the best place for a merman to stay , but it's only for a few days so he could make sure Jamie was alright.

“Jamie are you here?” called out Mako. he stared at the murky water for a few moments until shocks of blond hair and tattered orange ear fins surfaced from the slightly polluted waters of the bay. Mako grimaced when he saw Jamie, he looked worse than he did yesterday. His stomach looked even more extended and uncomfortable.

“ Mako… are you sure you want in your house, iam slimy , smell like rotten fish and i have not been fully honest with you.....” spoke Jamie but before mako could answer jamie let out painful screech and clutched his oversized belly. Mako acted quickly, hosting Jamie out of the oily waters and carrying him bridal style as he ran down the boardwalk.

Mako was grateful that it wasn't tourist season s they would all probably gawk at Jamie and crowded around them. The residents of this small beachside town were all aware of merfolk and lived in kinda a symbiosis with them. There were three know mers that lived in around beach that the town of Gibraltar overlooked. There was Jamie of course who was a little trickster and loved to steal fish off the local fishing boats, which is how he and Mako met two years ago. Jamie also enjoyed playing with local children and often joined the local 20 somethings, Lucio and Hana, during their beach bonfires. Then there was Reinhardt who kept Jamie from getting into too much trouble,and also treated him like he was his own child, Jamie doesn't seem to mind at all. Reinhardt was a huge species of mer and acted as a protector of Gibraltar, keeping sharks and unwanted ships away from the shores. He also had a sweet spot for the local tea shop owner, Ana, who comes down to beach and visits with him every day. The last one was a fluffy mer named Mei. She very kind to everyone except on Jamie, who didn't seem to notice her disdain for him. Jamie has many bite marks on his tail from when he just pushed the smaller mer over the line.

After about a five minute run back to his house Mako rushed Jamie inside. When they got to bathroom, Mako gently set a distressed Jamie into his bathtub and turned on the faucet; cold , clean water began to fill the tub. Jamie was breathing heavily both hands on his stomach.

“are you going to be okay Jamie?” asked Mako concern evident in his voice. Jamie shifted in the tube slightly, tail making soft splashing noises in the water

“yea mate I am fine, this is normal” Jamie's voice was hoarse and a lack of sleep was evident.

“ you sure as hell don't look fine, and what do you mean normal, are parasites just something merfolk deal with all the time?” questioned mako, his voiced filled with even more worry and doubt. Jamie looked at him with a confusion etched into his face

“ parasites?, I don't have parasites. Mako I am- ARRRG.” he doubled over in pain, he started panting heavily. Mako kneeled next to the tube horrified and frozen as a medium sized oval like shape be began emerge from Jamie's cloaca located on his front. It took Mako a total of 20 seconds to realize it was an egg. Jaime was fucking pregnant and laying eggs. Mako had no idea how this could've happened. The first thing that popped into his mind was that Jamie was seeing another merfolk that happened to be passing through . It would make since he is part animal, it only logical he would want to have kids with someone like him. It made sense but it didn't make Mako's heart hurt any less. After about 30mins of Jamie panting and letting out pained yells, he laid on his side in the now bloody tub, tail and arms curled around his this 3 eggs. The eggs were a pale yellow color, with strains embonic fluid hanging of them. Jamie was gently cooing to them as mako sat and watched, trying to from the right question to ask jamie.

“Soo…. whose are they” asked Mako, a little more roughly than he should have.

“What do you mean mako .. i don't understand “ respond Jaime curling around the eggs a slightly more, his voice apprehensive. For some reason that completely logical action made Mako even more aggravated.

“The eggs Jamie, whose eggs are those!! God are they some merfolk you have been seeing because you wanted kids is that why?!” Mako stood over the mer man breathing heavily from his outburst. He looked down at Jamie and felt a deep pang of guilt resonate through his chest. Jaime had the eggs held closely to his chest, he was shaking and tears were welling up in his large amber eyes. It seemed like an eternity till jamie finally spoke in a quiet shaky voice

“ Their.. Their yours Mako…” Makos jaw went slack and his eyes got wide. “ I am sorry I didn't tell you sooner … I just wasn't sure how… I wasn't sure if you would leave me or not..” mako just stared at Jamie as he moved in the tub, his ear fins twitching anxiously.

“ But how I am human and you're well not, and why me, why not some one like you” mako muttered awkwardly. Jamie let out a weak chuckle

“ Silly mako merfolk can mate with humans we are very much alike in many ways. And you're my mate, I feel in love with you the moment I saw you. I knew this going to happen the moment me and you fucked in reeds” mako chuckled at jamie's bluntness.

“ You could have told,me I could have helped” said mako as he ruffled jaimes hair. The merman giggled and leaned into the touch.

“ I asked if you would ever want kids and you looked sad and then quickly changed the subject.” Jaime nuzzled deeper into mako's hand, his arm and tail still wrapped around his- no their eggs. Mako sighed at jaime's comment and pulled his hand away.

“ I didn't mean it like that jaime I wanted kids I just..”

“ You didn't want them with me” finished Jaime, his tone accusing and hurt. Mako felt guilt rise up in his large chest again.

“ No, Jamie I love you and I want to start a family with you I just wasnt sure we could since your a merman and I am a human” Mako gently scooped Jamie,who was holding their eggs to his chest , and set them on his bed. Mako took off his drenched clothes leaving him only in his boxers. He then climbed onto the bed, moving his arm so that Jamie could curl up next to him; which is exactly what Jamie did. He draped his long tail over Mako’s large belly and nestle the eggs in his and and up against mako's side. Jamie sighed contently as he nuzzled his head into the crook of mako's neck and rested what remained of his right hand on Mako's chest. Within a few moments Jamie had dozed off, tired from the ordeal earlier. Mako was tired as well but he couldn't sleep, starred up the ceiling running the event of today through his head. It was barely noon and he was already mentally exhausted. He was going to be a father, of three half mer half human children.

Now mako wasn't the type of person who thought about what the future held, preferring to live life where it took him instead of worrying about every little thing. But right now he was worrying about what the future may hold for his kids and Jamie. He knew Jamie could defend himself well, evident by the scars all over his slender body,besides the faint bite marks from mei, and reinhardt basically adopted jamie as his own kid and would definitely protect him and his children while in the ocean. Mei didn't hate Jamie, well at least not alot, she just was annoyed by him. She often liked playing games with human children so she would probably be thrilled to have merkids swimming around. All these thoughts were stirring in mako's mind when he felt Jaimes tail wiggle on his gut

“Mate, can you put me back in the tub please, I am starting to get a little dry” croaked out Jamie, voice still riddled with exhaustion. Mako got up with a grunt and gingerly picked up Jaime, who was clutching the eggs too his chest, and walked him over to the bathroom where he set jamie and the eggs gently in the tube and began putting more clean water in.

“ Thanks,... hey Mako can you take me back to a pier tomorrow? i have a nest all set up under the pier for the eggs, and i want to tell Rein and Mei, i have been avoiding them because I didn't want the lecturer from mei or to be smoothed to death from over affection by Rein” explained Jaime.

“ I mean sure if that's what you want, but who will protect the nest while you hunt I will when I can but I have job and..” Mako was cut off from spiel by Jamies pure and beautiful giggle

“ We don't hunt while we have eggs silly i'll watch them until they hatch, keeping them warm and damp.”

“ But how will you eat?”

“ Usually we don't eat while we are guarding our eggs unless our mates bring us food or another family member but I'll last the three weeks until they hatch then I'll have to hunt” explained Jamies as he stroked the eggs

“ Wait do your mates usually not hunt for the ones watching the eggs?” asked Mako skeptically, as he couldn't believe what he was saying.

“ Well usually our mates would defend the surrounding area from predators acting as a first line of defence. The only time they wouldn't do that is if we were lucky enough to be near reef, because reefs are places of peace, even the savage mers know that.” Explained Jamie nonchalantly. Mako looked at Jamie for a long moment before he finally decided what he was going to say.

“ you won't have to worry i'll bring you food” spoke mako, Jamie gave him a gentle look, ear fins tilted down slightly

“ you're too good for me mako”

“And you jamie are too good for me” murmured mako as he got up from his place by the tub to go take a nap, exhausted from the morning's events.

The next day mako carried jaime and their eggs back down to jaime's pier. Once in the water he swam under the pier to where the land and water met and arranged the eggs nicely in a large kelp nest that was partly in the water. Once the eggs were situated jamie curled around them. Mako sat at the pier for hours talking to jamie about what they should name their kids, both laughing when either came up wit a ridiculous name. Both stopped talking when they heard paddling nearby, reinhardt surfaced along with mei trailing a few feet behind. Both of their jaws dropped when they saw jamie nervously grinning while coiled around the eggs. Reinhardt immediately let a hardy laugh and ruffled jamie's hair

“ ahahaha!you're going to be fathers i am so happy for you two!” bellowed reinhardt jamie let out laugh as well

“ well you're going to be part of their lives too, ya basically raised me ya gonna be a grandfather Rein, and Mei I know you dont like me very much but I always consider ya a sister so if you would like I want you to be the kids aunt” Jamie spoke softly and gently, something mako has only heard him do when they were alone. Mei looked at a loss for words, as to how someone she was so mean and standoffish to could want her to the aunt to his unhatched kids. Mei had no words she simply nodded and wiped the tears forming in her eyes.

3 weeks seemed to pass in a blink of an eye and suddenly Mako was down under the pier with jamie watching their three eggs begin to hatch. The one the right was the first emerge. A healthy little girl who looked almost exactly like mako emerged. She had the same silver white hair, brown skin, , the only difference was the fact that her bottom half was a that of a great white and she had warm brown eyes.

“ She looks just like you mako!” gasped Jamie, his tail splashing in glee. Mako let out a chuckle at Jamie's excitement as he picked up his newly hatched daugher and watched her sleepy eyes flutter open and close as she rolled around feebly in his arms making soft clicking noises. The left egg soon began to crack, within a few seconds there second child had emerged from its egg. A boy with black hair, large amber eyes and a tail the same bright orange as jamie's fins crawled out of the shell and let out a weak cry. Jamie picked up their small son and began cooing to him, and rubbing his back, gradually calming the boy. Moments later the final egg hatched and a young female with blond hair, blue eyes popped her head out. She was different from her siblings for she looked completely human aside from her slightly pointed ears pointy teeth and gills on her neck. Mako scooped her up with his other arm and held her close

“ so Jamie what should we name them” asked mako as he cuddled the two of his three children to his chest. Jamie looked at their son thoughtfully.

“Milo, for our son, Marlee, for our first daughter and Kaiya for our final Child.

“Those are beautiful Jamie” spoke Mako after a moment of silence. Mako moved over to Jamie and cuddled him and their three children. Never in a hundred years would Mako have thought he would be the father of three beautiful children and have such a wonderful magnificent funny partner. Even for all the rich in the world he would never trade this, for this was the greatest treasure of all.

“Alright Lil Gremlins! It’s time to announce the winner of the Valentine’s Dream Come True contest! Can I get a drum roll please?” Hana Song pressed the corresponding button on her soundboard. The Twitch chat was flying by a mile a minute, desperate to be named the chosen one. “And the winner is... NinjaPandaGoGo! Congratulations! My agent will contact you with the information you provided and arrange the perfect Valentine’s Day date with your’s truly, D. Va. To all the losers, don’t drown in salty tears. The entire thing will be livestreamed! Remember to like, subscribe, and donate. D. Va, signing off.” The chat stalled out under the heavy load. Sad emojiis and lamentations whipped across the screen like lightning. But you were too busy jumping around the bedroom and screaming with your best friend to notice. Hell, you almost missed the incoming call. Your friend tackled you to the bed so you could answer with out pacing like a maniac.

“Hello? Yes, this is she. How soon? I can be ready in an hour! Oh my gosh thank you so much!” Another squeal of joy burst forth. Your friend had already dived into your closet to pull the sexiest outfits you owned. Your phone was blowing up with notifications. Of course you’d updated everyone with the big news. But that would have to wait for now. You had 1 hour to prepare for the woman of your dreams.

A limo pulled up to your front door at the time promised. Inside was a large muscled man with a clipboard. He hastily read the rules, restrictions, and acceptable behaviors, and had you sign off of the legal waiver. “You’ll be meeting Miss Song at her personal estate. After a romantic meal in the dining hall you will participate in several hours of arcade fun. Is this understood?” You snorted incredulously. Was this guy for real? You prayed it wasn’t a taste of what tonight would entail.

After a long car ride the limousine pulled up to an impressive home. A small camera crew was waiting just outside the door. Suddenly butterflies swirled in your stomach and your heartrate quickened in anticipation. This was it. You were going on a date with THE Hana Song. “Oh my God. I could die!” The muscled bodyguard escorted you to the front door. It swung open revealing a vision of beauty and fearsome talent.

“Welcome to my stream! Would you like to introduce yourself to the camera?” Your heart was caught in your throat. A nervous chuckle spilled out before you could reel it back in. “Oh haha. My name is Soo Jung, also known as NinjaPandaGoGo. Thank you for this amazing experience!” Hana was quick to take you by the hand and pull you into a quick embrace. Your chest felt as though it might explode. “You’re so cute, Soo Jung! They didn’t tell me the winner was a model. Come, follow me. I’ll give you a quick tour and then we can eat!” With a fierce red blush coloring your delicate features, you followed D. Va like a love struck pup.

Once dinner was finished you had shaken off a few of your worries. Hana was leading the conversation expertly. She made you forget there were millions of viewers watching every second that passed. To her, you were the only girl in the world. The thought made your head spin.

After the meal Miss Song unveiled her private arcade room. It was lined with bright neon cabinets featuring hundreds of video game mascots. Every inch of space was covered. The geek in you leapt for joy and for the first time tonight you lead the procession. Towards the center of the room was a MarioKart machine complete with 2 fully enclosed seats and massive digital display. “Oh D. Va, will you play with me? I love this game!”

“Sure, but don’t be upset when you lose.” The streamer boasted her signature smirk. But you had your own look of pure determination. If there was ever a game you could beat Hana Song on, it was MarioKart.

Well... At least you thought you could...

But after-- quite narrowly-- losing the first two races you decided to take things into your own hands. Hana, already with a comfortable lead, was caught completely off guard when you gave her a playful shove. “Hey! That’s cheating!” she cried before give you a shove of your own. “It’s not cheating if we both do it,” you laughed. Still lagging behind the star you reached over and jerked her wheel to the left. She fumbled with your break pedal. You activated on of her items. She covered your eyes with her supple hands. Emboldened, you tickled her sides until she was rolling with giggles.

By now the game was abandoned and the two of you had spilled onto the floor in a wrestling match. Both highly competitive spirits, neither was going to give up without a fight. And while Miss Song was the queen of video games, you had the upper hand in this physical battle. Straddling her waist your hands roamed everywhere searching for the most ticklish spot. Once they found her belly she shouted out, “Alright you win, you win!” You climbed up and offered your hand which she took, jumping up to give you a big hug.”This has been the best date ever!” Then, sending you reeling, she planted a kiss right on your painted lips. “We should do this as part of a weekly stream! Are you in? The viewers loved it.”

Unable to find the words, you nodded your enthusiastic approval. “You heard it here first Lil Gremlins! Hana Song and Soo Jung every Friday night. Come watch us game and stay tuned for the goodnight kisses!” D. Va wrapped her arm around your waist and turned you to face the streaming crew. “Goodnight everyone!” She blew kisses to the camera and placed another peck on your burning cheek. And then, when the crew had turned off all their equipment and it was time to take your leave, she kissed you a third time, lingering a bit longer than was appropriate. “I really did have a great time tonight. I’m glad you came.”

“I’m glad I did too. Can’t wait to see you again!”

What to Watch Next: 10 Solid Drama & Film Recommendations

I wanted to come up with a list of dramas that don’t often get recommended. They may be older, or more obscure, or have just been overshadowed by the flashy “Goblin-like” productions to become hits in recent years. With that said, these are all fantastic choices that promise a variance of good drama experiences. They are all reasonably accessible and have solid performances, and while I can be rather picky, I look upon these ones fondly and they are certainly worth a rewatch or a first viewing.

**In no particular order**

Back to 1989 (Taiwanese Drama, 2016)

A bit of a sleeper hit from 2016, this one may have been overlooked by some for its episode length, topping out at an hour and a half for each of its 21 episodes. This is not one of those dramas that drag the story along, and the pace stays consistently dramatic for the majority of its run. It deals with serious topics, and dips into melodrama at times, but it always keeps its snappy and romantic edge to it, thanks to a zippy score (great opening credits) and solid performances by the criminally beautiful, Marcus Chang and Ivy Shao.

In this drama, Chen Che (Marcus Chang) is a successful and charming business man who seems to have everything, except the approval of his mother who holds the identity of his biological father hostage. In a strange turn of events, he is transported back to 1989 during the year that his teenage mother conceived him in hopes that he can find the identity of the mystery father he never knew. But can he ever return home? And what will he find? Are some things just better left buried? Tonally balanced with humor, romance, sadness, and with an emphasis on family --- this one is worth the look.

Evergreen Love (Japanese Film, 2016)

Evergreen Love is just one of those simple films, with a simple story that leaves you satisfied with the conclusion. While it is nothing earth shattering in its premise, it’s simplicity is its greatest asset.

Sayaka is a office worker who lives a mundane single life and carries a deep sadness she doesn’t articulate. One day she meets, Itsuki, a mysterious homeless man who is wandering shelterless around her residence. When he collapses, she takes him into her home and they set up a temporary living situation -- he cooks great meals for her in exchange for board, sparking a friendship that turns into something more. His affinity for plants and herbs becomes a bonding experience for both of them, and soon, he’s not the only one cooking and neither of them are alone. Is Itsuki, as all handsome leads are, hiding a secret? What will be revealed? Is it something that Itsuki and Sayaka can overcome?

First Time (Chinese Film, 2012)

I’ll preface this recommendation by explaining that this is a romantic film, with a melodramatic ending. With that being said, I wouldn’t turn away from its content for its tendency to engage in melodrama, as it has the variance of humor, lightness, music, and romance to balance its darkness. This was my first introduction to Angelababy, who if you’ve seen the currently airing history-romantic drama, General and I, is a very popular Taiwanese actress and her character carries herself like one of Alcott’s March sisters, with hidden strength and a zest for life.

In this film, Shi Quiao (Angelababy) is a young woman diagnosed with a terminal illness that could take her at any time. When she meets a former classmate, Gong Nin, a sweet and refreshing relationship happens between them almost immediately. What the film really focuses on is in exploring what a mother is willing to do for her daughter and the necessity of keeping secrets, because while all the characters love for each other is pure, it is never easy, and requires deep sacrifice. If this seems vague, and full of mystery, it is --- but make sure you watch until the VERY. LAST. FRAME.

Kyou wa Kaisha Yasumimasu (Japanese Drama, 2014)

Based off a popular manga, this drama tells the dramatic story of a permanently single 30 year old office worker, who on her 30th birthday becomes romantically entangled with a man much younger than her and the chaos that ensues from that. While the overly innocent characterization of the female lead, Hanae, may irrirtate some, it is not an uncommon character type seen in Japanese dramas as she tries to navigate a dating world she really doesn’t understand. For all her manic behavior, she is tempered by the love triangle she finds herself in, sandwiched between her young, but calm and subdued lover, Tanokura Yuuto, and the reassuring confidence of one of the successful men at her company, Asao Yuu, who becomes equally interested in her. The love triangle here doesn’t feel forced or irritating, and I found myself equally okay with whomever she ended up with. This is a benefit to this viewership, because while you can remain invested in the characters push and pull, you don’t have to feel tethered to a specific storyline, which made this really enjoyable for me.

Mood of the Day (Korean Film, 2016)

This could just be your run-of-the-mill romantic comedy film, if it wasn’t for the adorable chemistry between Yeo Yeon Seok and Moon Chae Won -- already two incredibly popular Korean actors -- who just sell this film so well.

Lighter than most romantic k-films I’ve seen, this one hits all the right notes. In it, Yoo’s character Kim Jae Hyun, a single playboy, is stuck on a train to Busan sitting next to an attractive, but cynically commited woman, Bae Soo Jung (she’s been in a relationship for 10 years) who Jae Hyun is attempting to convince to spend the night with him. She is sometimes annoyed by him, and sometimes charmed (as is the audience), and while their trip to Busan gets more and more complicated, so do their feelings for each other.

Nothing earth shattering or original with this plot, but it works because it’s cast so well, and becomes so easy to see these two interact with each other, that the plot really seems secondary to the cuteness. :-)

Ore Monogatari!! (Japanese Film, 2015)

One of the cutest (and craziest) films I’ve seen yet, Ore Monogatari (also called My Love Story) tells the tale of a young high school student, Takeo, who falls in love easily, but is used to being disappointed by the women he likes. He is insecure over his larger than life stature, and is often disregarded by women who turn to the cool and shallow attractiveness of his best friend, Sunakawa. One day, he saves a young woman, Yamato, from a hapless vagrant, and becomes immediately smitten with her, but he’s convinced the interest she shows in him is really only for his best friend -- but is that true?

This movie is absolutely crazy and HILARIOUS. Equal parts funny and romantic, and if you’re in the mood for truly zany characters, I highly recommend carving out a couple hours for this one.

Never Said Goodbye (Chinese/Korean Film, 2016)

The saddest recommendation on this list, I initially watched this film for the beauty that is the Korean star, Lee Joon Gi and wasn’t disappointed. This film tells the tragic story of Joon Ho and Xiao You, a Korean/Chinese couple who break up after Joon Ho reveals that he is leaving China for Sicily. Heartbroken, she finds out later, that Joon Ho had unexpectedly died while they were apart and has difficulties moving on from his absence. The story becomes more complicated, when it is revealed how little Xiao You knows about his missing time, and what lengths people will go to in order to protect the person they most love. Tragically bittersweet, this has a great score and great performances overall with a comfortable pace and complicated characters. Definitely a solid recommendation, but make sure you have a box of Kleenex. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu (Japanese Drama, 2016)

By episode 2, this drama had intoxicated me. While the romantic comedy genre has been quite an elusive beast in recent Japanese dramas (for me at least), Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu was that mysterious entity: a story so genuine, so charming, so witty, and so heartfelt that even the hype was underselling it. It may not have the flash of the kdrama, but for what it lacks in length (and maybe press) it makes up for it’s ability to connect with its audience.

This drama, also called We Married as a Job, stars Aragaki Yui as Mikuri, a qualified college graduate who is having trouble landing a decent job. When she gets an offer to do some housekeeping for a serious bachelor, Tsuzaki Hiramasa, she jumps at the chance to work for such a straightforward and detail-oriented man. When circumstances arise, and drastic measures must be taken to keep Mikuri in his employ (I promise it makes sense), they concoct a plan to enter into a “contract marriage” in which she will act as a “housewife” while being able to board at his home without much suspicion. As with all contract relationships, the rules the pair set are only further complicated by their budding feelings, and chaos ensues.

The heart here is in the relationship between the two leads, who vacillate from being heartbreakingly awkward, to deeply funny and lovable. I can honestly say that there wasn’t a bad episode in the lot, and at 11 well constructed episodes, I think it’s worth the gander.

The Lover (Korean Drama, 2015)

If you are already a kdrama fan, this might have been a drama you missed in 2015, because it mostly flew under the radar. Produced by Mnet, it wasn’t a drama that was talked about in any regularity, and as most kdramas go, the tone it sets is vastly different to most relationship dramas in Korea that I’ve seen (and I’ve seen A LOT).

Boasting an ensemble cast, The Lover, surrounds the romantic relationships that exist between four different couples living in the same apartment complex in Seoul -- a couple who has been together for years and have settled into the complacency of a comfortable relationship, a noona couple where an older woman lives with her younger boyfriend who’s a budding rockstar, an engaged duo hoping that living together with convince them that marriage would work for them, and two young men forced into a living arrangement that constantly brings about tensions for both of them.

It is on the raunchy side for mainstream k-entertainment, and it was a refreshing and delightful twist. Most of the romantic stories are compelling and the pacing of the show is quick enough to not get bored by the focus on any one couple, while being INSANELY funny and deeply heartfelt. It was one of those dramas I watched in 2015 that I was most surprisingly pleased by, and would gladly watch seven more times.

Tomorrow's Cantabile (Korean Drama, 2014)

After watching, Tomorrow’s Cantabile a couple of years ago, I had all but forgotten about it, but my recent viewing of its Japanese counterpart, Nodame’s Cantabile, brought upon me a great deal of nostalgia. While never reaching the heights of the Japanese original (which is derived from an INSANELY popular comic) what it lacks in the manic energy and zaniness of the Japanese version, it makes up for in quirkiness and heart. They are virtually the same story, but the execution and characterization of the main leads differ in each of the dramas. Both are really worth a watch.

In Tomorrow’s Cantabile (or Naeil’s Cantabile), the story surrounds Cha Woo Jin (Joo Won) a prickly musician who is committed to become a prolific classical conductor. Do to personal circumstances, he must attend a music conservatory in Korea and is unable to travel to Europe to work with the greats, but make no mistake, he has a savant-like talent for conducting and creating great music, with a domineering and anti-social personality who demands perfection from all those around him. He comes face-to-face with his classmate, Naeil, when he first hears her play piano and is immediately impressed with her talent (which is no small feat), but while Woo Jin is a dedicated musician, she is less of a dedicated student preferring to consider playing the piano as an element of fun and takes almost nothing too seriously, which frustrates Woo Jin. He sees talent in her and he tries to drag it out of her, and while she becomes immediately smitten with him, the wackiness and ambivalence of her character is in direct opposition to the seriousness of his. They soon realize that there is no escape for either of them...because they have side by side apartments. Can they break down the walls (yes, I see the irony because they share a wall) each other has built up to protect them from pain? Or will they both be forced to hide from the musical talents forever?

Joo Won and Shim Eun Kyeong are an interesting pair in this drama, because they are two actors you would never usually see together. While Joo Won is used to playing the blustering lead, Shim Eun Kyeong is less of your obvious romantic actress, which only makes her character that much more charming. It is deeply funny and the music is beautiful and intoxicating. My only warning is this: don’t go into the film expecting it to be exactly like the comic or set the same tone as the Japanese version, and you will most likely enjoy it. That’s what I did and I am capable of enjoying all versions of this great story --- the music really does speak for itself.

2020 balik lagi main ayodance, game lama dengan segudang cerita hehe, tapi sekarang gue uda di tahap dewasa sih buat main game ini jadi ya lebih let it go dan bodo amat banget....

soo, kali ini mau cerita soal Sherica aja deh, she is so adorable lucu gemesin parah, itu karaktek aku di game, dia punya nama, namanya Shelina Laura.

Aku menghidupkan karakter dia in game dengan sentuhan sunflower aga dia bisa bermekaran dengan hati yang rendah tanpa kesombongan hehe. Karakter Sherica paling aku sayang bgt dibanding char aku yg lainnya. Dia orangnya dewasa, kuat, sabar dan tentunya setia banget sampe kadang susah move on dari mantan2 couplenya. Tapi dia ga murahan dan selalu being nice to everyone hehe, dia punya banyak temen yg sayang sm dia ketika dia sedih dan bosan soal perasaan bete kesel emang aga susah di border antara aku dan karakter Sherica ini hmm

Couple pertama itu Leon, karakter leon baik sabar dan selalu sayang sama Sherica sampe detik ini even Leon uda partner sama yg lain tp dia selalu sempetin perhatiannya buat Sherica, sampe kdg Sherica suka masih kepikiran Leon, buat Sherica leon itu Prince charming yg dateng disaat keadaaan duka dan bener2 bs nenangin Sherica iiiii gemesshh!!! kadang game ini bs bgt jd moodboster yaa, kalo ditanya orang yg paling ada nomor 1 saat Sherica sedih aku cm bisa jawab PASTINYA LEON oh ya Leon name in game is Xyleon-xB hehehe., walaupun aku cm couple 2 hari sama dia, kita masih baik2 aja sampe hari ini up and down uda sama2 dilaluin dan dia mau berbaur sama temen2 aku di game aku suka saat dia bs luangin waktu buat aku dan main sama temen2ku kasih bintang 4 nilainya buat Leon.

Couple kedua, hmm inisih uda pstinya bosen bgt denger nama dia dan uda berkali2 balikan cpl sama dia, his name Oby !!, dia partnet in game yg bucin banget dia rela lakuin apa aja buat Sherica, Buat Leyse, Buat Inana, 3 karakter game aku uda partner couple sama dia, kenapa dia? ya karna aku orangnya suka males kenal orang baru dan nyamannya sama itu2 aja hehe. impression tentang dia itu baik , jago uda pastinya jago bgt soalnya dia kan anak Event dan pernah menang Megaxus apa gitu yg dia AEON MALL, dia itu orangnya cool gada ramahnya sm org tapi kl uda kenal deket BAWELNYA AMPUN DEH. dia kalo on cm buat CB sama ngebucin, dia spendwell bgt waktunya buat couple dia sampe sebenernya aku bosen banget main cm berdua sama dia, dia jg bucin garden bgt ig you need him dia selalu ada, cm karna aku uda keseringan sama dia kaliya jadinya ya nothin spesial sih, kalo lg bosen ketemu dia aja di game pasti sellu ada wkwkw! dia juga uda akrab bgt sm kluargaku di game jadi ya kalo urusan apa2 oby gausa ditanya smua uda kenalll aku kasih bintang 4 buat oby !!!

Couple ke 3, aku berharap sih last ring, aku masih on going couple sama dia nih belum ada sebulan sih namanya Morganez, karakter dia in game ini aga susah aku tebak tapi untuk awal couple everything going well sih, anaknya baik, nice, cm moody. moody nya ini aku gabs tangkep ya karena kadang orang moody kan berubah2 yg aku pahamin kayaknya dia aga males ketemu orang asing di game makanya kalau mabar in game pasti sama temen2 club nya. Pernah sih main sm temen2ku cm abis itu gatau kenapa malah ada ribut2 terus wkw tapi abis itu baik lagi sih hehe kayaknya aku mau bikin thread khusus ini orang 1 deh sekalian cerita2 aja karna aku ga mgkin juga cerita ke orang hmm... next yaa di thread sendiri.

Yes! Those are definitely some of the difference between them! Ahhh I honestly can't with them sometimes. Like my heart just bursts with happiness thinking about them. They are just so much in love and I can honestly say Hana doesn't want to be with anyone else.
