Relief washes over him hearing the familiar sound of his leader coming to his rescue. Haha how pathetic but at least it was Arisato and not Mitsuru. She'd have aimed her strike at him first then at the shadows. A light shudder imagining her wrath ...the ice..anything but the ice.
"Yeah ..." pushing himself up, he managed to regain his composure. "Thanks, leader." he picked up his revolver, placed it against his temple, and shot, "Zionga!" in mere seconds a bolt of lightning hit its target rendering it dead. However, that didn't mean they were out of the woods yet--him, for that matter.
Akihiko's body staggered and he found support in the wall behind him. "Damn it .." he whispered under his breath. The poison was still an issue. He had not taken any medicine to cure poison because carrying too many items will hinder his speed so he focused only on taking what could replenish his strength. "Sorry ... As your senior I should've been more careful and not a burden on you."
Splitting up was the worst idea she'd had thus far. She had vastly underestimated how strong the shadows on this floor could be. When she saw them running from their group, she figured it would be easy practice. But there were stronger ones lurking around the corners, and now Hamuko was trying to round up the others before the worst happened.
"Bufula!!" A stream of ice flew across the floor, freezing the shadow directly in front of her senior at least for the moment. It wasn't dead yet! "Akihiko! Are you okay?!"

Costume dialogue for Berry Blast Brigade because I do what I WANT
Shujin:
Kasumi: Hey the Shujin Academy uniform! I read about this school! They have a really good sports program, and one of their alumni even went to the Olympics! ... Say Hamu-nee/Mina-nii, think Sumire and I can go there some day?
Hamu-nee/Mina-nii, that's the Shujin Academy uniform, right? You look so sleek in it! Like you're real fancy Tokyo kids!
Sumire: The uniform from Shujin Academy? Kasumi's mentioned that before I think. Um, I t-think it's pretty nice, do you think I look ok?
Oh onee-chan/onii-chan, that's the uniform from Shujin Academy, right? It looks good on you! Though I think you can pull of anything.
Naoto: Shujin Academy's uniform, hm? It's quality material, it must be a good school. I've read some interesting things about the principal online...
Aneki/aniki, you're wearing the Shujin Academy uniform. It certainly gives off an aloof air I think, like it's meant to blend into the background.
Yusuke: oh so this is Shujin Academy's uniform! The patterned pants are a nice touch, though the blazer makes me a little hot. Is it ok if I take it off?
Onee-san/onii-san, is that the Shujin Academy uniform? You look great! Is it easy to run in? It's not to thick is it?
Yasogami
Kasumi: Yasogami huh... that's a school in Inaba, right? I think I'd get bored living in such a small town, but I think the outfit is cute!
Hamu-nee/Mina-nii, are you wearing the Yasogami uniform? You guys really make something as plain as this look so awesome!
Sumire: Oh this Yasogami high uniform is nice. I wonder what it'd be like to go to school in a small town like that.
Onee-chan/onii-cham, you're wearing the Yasogami uniform, right? It looks really good on you. The material's sturdy, is that because small towns are dangerous or something?
Naoto: Oh, this Yasogami uniform is surprisingly comfortable. I might need to roll up the pants a bit, but I think it suits me
Aneki/aniki, you're wearing the Yasogami uniform. Is there a reason why you chose it? Are you particularly interested in Inaba?
Yusuke: this school is Inaba right? I hear they're well known for their local pottery. I read a fascinating book on it in the library and... oops, sorry I didn't mean to ramble.
Onee-san/onii-san, that's the Yasogami uniform I believe. The design is very simple, yet still flattering! You look great.
Phantom Thief Outfits
Kasumi (Sophie): Oh this Phantom Thief outfit is so cute! I look like a marshmallow! And it's so easy to move around in! Too bad the mask is weird...
Hamu-nee/Mina-nii, Oh I see you're in your Phantom Thief outfit! So cool you're like a real gentleman thief! Is it fun to have the cape whoosh behind you?
Sumire (Violet - modified to have extra tights and smaller heels): Wow this Phantom Thief outfit... hehe I look like a professional gymnast huh? Like I'm about to put on a show! L-let's go! I feel really fired up in this!
Oh, onee-chan/onii-chan, I really like that Phantom Thief outfit of yours! It's kinda like the one I have isn't it. Hehe it's nice we match!
Naoto (Wolf): I'm wearing the Phantom Thief outfit like you asked but... why? Thieves are the natural enemies of detectives, I'm not interested in running around dressed as one. W-well sure I guess it is a little cool...
Aneki/Aniki, I see you're wearing the Phantom Thief outfit. I'll admit it's stylish, but you do know someday if you commit a crime like theft I'll be forced to arrest you.
Yusuke (Fox): thanks for the Phantom Thief outfit onee-san/onii-san! When we have time I want to sketch out this mask later. I feel like my persona likes it too.
Onee-san/onii-san, your Phantom Thief outfit... oh I mean you look good in of course but something about it... I don't know if it quite suits you. O-oh I'm sorry, ignore that! You look cool.

"...And... seven! I win!" Hamuko let out a cheer of victory while Ryoji gasped ever so dramatically in defeat.
"...How do you always do that, Hamu-chan?! You're so talented! I knew it was fate...!"
"Oh, I'm just that good!" She giggled cheekily, laying her head on his chest, feet kicking in the air while she was twirling his scarf in her hand, leaning in for a kiss. "So, are you doing anything later~?"
Talking to him just helped in drowning out the boys yelling at each other again...

MIU 404
"Where did you grow up?" "What would you prefer? A broken upbringing? Childhood trauma? A tormented past? Which one would you prefer? I am not going to be a part of your narrative." MIU404 is one of the best police procedurals that's come out in the last few years. That's not to say that every case was flawless and perfect-pitched, but what was impressive was the ambitious wholeness of the story. Small recurring roles that served a bigger purpose in the end, seemingly less significant cases that brought upon a string of events that becomes significant. To start with, the team is beautifully written. Apparently the scriptwriter gave a lot of freedom for the two main characters, and both Hoshino Gen and Ayano Gou did a fantastic job with the chemistry of the characters, but also with how grounded and real they felt. They were flawed, faltering, but well-meaning and persistent. They were enforcers of justice, but their justice becomes questioned and questionable, and they lose their way before finding their way again. Their character arcs, carefully developed over the entire 11 episodes, are amongst the best character development arcs you will find in this genre. The supporting cast was also well-rounded. Kikyou is one of the best written female police bosses in this genre. She is strong but not headstrong, and she is also empathetic without being overly sentimental. When she is with familiar people, she allows herself to have moments of vulnerability. Nogi Akiko understands the real difficulties of being a female leader in a traditionally male-dominated field, and Aso Kumiko brings a no-nonsense briskness along with a motherly protectiveness, which makes this character so much more nuanced than a lot of trophy strong female police characters out there. (As an aside, this reminds me of the much more hamfisted depiction of Honda Tsubasa's "strong but traumatised" female investigator in Zettai Reido 4 and in this case it seems to have really taken a female writer to write one well.) Her interactions with Hamu-chan, the witness she is trying to protect, is sweet and touching, and flies past the Bechdel test. Moving on from the characterisations, the script was clever in that it started off like a standard police procedural, with a random case week by week, but even in the early weeks it had already started to drop clues and hints for what was to come later. The story about Ibuki's mentor was heart-breaking, but would have had much less emotional heft if we hadn't already met the mentor throughout earlier episodes. It was clear this is a drama that had a very definite idea of where it wanted to go from the beginning, and it was amazing to get to the end and see pieces starting to fall into place. Of course all of this would not have worked without having one of the best final bosses to come out of a Japanese police procedural, and perfectly acted by Suda Masaki. People are drawing comparisons to Heath Ledger's Joker - to be honest, I wasn't a big fan of that particular Batman movie so I'm not even going to comment on any similarities. He had a nonchalant manner that still managed to be threatening, and he outwitted the police on multiple counts. As his conversation with Ibuki says, there is actually very little crime they can pin on him, even if they're certain he is the mastermind. Some people may find it dissatisfying that they have left him an enigma, but I felt it was the perfect way to wrap with this character, and gives the opportunity for a second season (*fingers crossed*). Overall, this drama rated 11.92% but like Unnatural, the script and acting was deserving of much better. I expect, like Unnatural, it will win a lot of critics awards even if its ratings are less than stellar. Definitely a must-watch for people who like police procedurals - it has humour and thoughtfulness in equal measure, great characterisations and cast chemistry, and a well-written central plotline and an impressive villain, and dramas that manage to get all these elements are a rarety these days.

---
I visited this cafe on the 10th of August 2020, the interior of the cafe was covered in Hamtaro posters and framed artwork. On the walls, TV's played the first episode from the anime, and speakers played various songs including the opening and ending songs.
On top of a special postcard, you'll also receive a limited time sticker with 3 possible designs, and a giant coaster(?) featuring one (or 2 in some cases) of the characters.
And as per usual, for each item you order off the menu, you receive a special coaster. The coasters for the Hamtaro cafe feature a special Ice cream-ified Ham-ham design.
As for the food, I ordered the 'HAPPY HAMU HAMU Birthday Cake' dessert, the 'The pairs sunny beach' drink, and the 'The pairs sunset beach' drink.
The Birthday cake featured a super cute sunflower design. It was very moist thanks to the ice cream and cream sunflower on top, and had nice fresh fruit and edible flowers surrounding it.
Both drinks were very refreshing on such a hot summer day, and the designs were both very cute and very creative!
All in all, the cafe hosted a very happy and nostalgic atmosphere and it was a wonderful time. I hope to see the Hamtaro cafe return next year!
