Hamtaro Ham-Ham Plushies

Release Date: August 2019

One of the most exciting Hamtaro products! In 2019 Sanei produced 16 plushies, each depicting one of the main hamuchans and a large 20cm Hamtaro plush. Each of these plushies are around 10cm tall, which makes them fit into your palm comfortably.

The plushies were 1000 yen at the time of release, with the exception of the larger Hamtaro plush, which was 2300 yen.

Some of the ham-hams were still available at stores in December 2022, but by 2023 nothing was left. Here are the ones in my collection:

Ham-ha! Third installment of me searching for Hamtaro merch! This time I found a ton of stuff!

In the previous post I brought up a store that someone sold their collection to, I was lucky to find that a few more plushies were brought in! Everything in the first picture except for the Penelope keychain were from there.

Next I hunted through a few Thank You Marts, looks like most still have a few bits from the Godzilla-ham 2024 collab but I just grabbed a washi tape from this one.

I got super lucky walking past a Village Vanguard! They had the last two Playcharm plushies I was missing, as well as the Pashmina and Penelope keychain (which I thought was a Kiddy Land exclusive???)

Next stop was Shinjuku, where I found the re-released 2024 crane game plushies and the 2019 Oxnard plush! I also grabbed another coaster, I was hoping for another Cappy and Panda but oh well..

The Godzilla store is in Shinjuku and I was excited to see they had some exclusive hamtaro merch there! The pink and yellow squares are T-shirts; I've never seen them advertised! The colors are a bit much, so I just got the pink one.

Finally there wasn't much in Nakano, but I did see this Hamtaro mask from the 2000s. Sadly it wasn't for sale, but still cool to see!!

I should have one more merch post, and then I'll show everything I bought in one photo. Hopefully I'll have set it all up in my room (if you guys wanna see my hamtaro bedroom)

Hamtaro Crane Game Prize

A giant plushie was released in crane game stores nationwide for the 20th anniversary of Hamtaro.

Here's mine when I first got it back in 2019! I had no idea that there was a hamtaro revival going on at the time, and this plushie pulled me right back into my childhood obsession!

Miscellaneous Hamtaro Goods

With how popular Hamtaro had gotten, some "everyday" goods were released, seemingly in small batches (of types of goods released, not quantity)

This first batch contained some clear file sets, washi tapes, and a compact mirror. These were available at toy stores like Kiddie Land, and were sold next to the set of Ham-Ham plushies released not too long ago.

Sadly I didn't see much of this when I was in Japan back in 2019 and 2022. The only thing I managed to find was the compact mirror, which isn't great quality. It's still cute though!
