Hamtaro Anime Announcement!

Oxnard's birthday surprise on May 3rd was that the Hamtaro anime will be rerun on Abema for free starting June 20th! It won't include all of the episodes from the series, for now it is episodes 97-296 (Japanese numbering) the OVAs and movies will also be available!

I don't remember about the anime and movies anymore, but this might include some episodes/movies that were never released outside Japan. Someone who knows more about this stuff please correct me!! The OVAs and movies are below:

Hamtaro Embroidered T-Shirts

Release Date: May 2025

Shimamura is having another collab with Hamtaro, this time they have 3 shirt designs to choose from! The Bijou and Hamtaro shirts have an embroidered Tottoko Hamutaro logo on the front and a big embroidered and felt patch of the ham-ham on the back. The last one seems to be a printed version depicting Hamtaro, Bijou, Cappy, and Penelope all together.

These shirts released May 3rd in Japan for 1490 yen each (1639 including tax)

I cant believe it's been 2 years since the last Shimamura collab! I really hope there's more to come with them, although it was really hard finding the merch when I was in Japan. I was there about a week after that collab released and searched the rural ones around Kyoto and Osaka. Man I remember walking down a highway and cutting through residential neighborhoods late at night to get to one of these stores. Also had a guy follow me around back when I was walking 30 minutes to one in Uji...the things I do for Hamtaro lol

Hamtaro Funbaruzu (Posture Helping) Plush

WWWWAAAAHHHHH!!! a new series of Hamtaro plushies have been announced, and these guys are supposed to help your posture while you work! I'm not finding too much info on this but it looks like they may be made with beanbags to keep them positioned on the edge of the desk?

This set features Hamtaro, Bijou, and Penelope and soft cuddly plushies ready to help you tackle any task that involves sitting in a chair. I need these since my work office has been temporarily relocated to my Hamtaro room... 👀

Each of these plushies are available at this website, along with the Playcharm plushies in case you want to pick those up too! You'll just need to use a proxy if you ive outside of Japan. They cost 3850 yen (tax included), not a bad price!

Hamtaro Puzzle Sets

Two new sets of Hamtaro puzzles are coming out this summer! Each one has 300 pieces and will cost 1980 yen. Here is a link to the preorder site.

I think those is new art made specifically for the puzzles, I've never seen it before (I'm not familiar with 2000s era Hamtaro art so please correct me if I'm wrong!)

Pop up is all set up in Shinjuku, I'm loving this art the more I see it!!! And look at the little cardboard cutouts 🥺🥺🥺 I wish I could buy those.

A Hamtaro Pop-Up Shop will be coming to Shinjuku and Osaka this year! The art is designed by the artist Anya, if anyone knows what else they have illustrated please let me know, I feel like I've seen this style before...

It looks like there will be an online shop at some point, so you may be able to snag some of these using a proxy service! There's a limit of 3 items per type of merch per person (so limit 3 acrylic stand blindboxes, 3 keychain blindboxes, ect.), I'm not sure if they will limit that for the online purchases though.

For every 1,000 yen spent on this merch, you'll recieve a random acrylic card of the Ham-hams! These would look really cute for oshikatsu!

If you spend more than 3,000 yen at the pop-ups, you'll recieve an additional mini print! The Shinjuku store will distribute out a print with all of the ham-hams on it, while the Osaka store will have a print for Stan and Sandy's birthday!

Hamtaro Flocked Dolls

Release Date: September 2025

Distributor: Bandai Candy

Hey hey for everyone that loved the early 2000s Hamtaro figures, we're finally getting something similar this September! These are small figurines that come in blind boxes, they will be sold in the candy aisle of stores (I think it's like the candy section by the registers in US grocery stores.) In Japan they put one piece of candy in these blind boxes, that way they can be displayed in the candy section.

The Flocked design reminds my of the Sylvannia figures, I always wanted some as a kid but remember them being so expensive. When I found out there were Sylvannia stores in Japan it brought be back memories of walking around a toystore in my hometown. Too bad I already have too many other obessions...

No idea how big these figures are going to be, it would be really cool if they were the same size as the 2000s epoch figures!

So far there's 6 Ham-ham to collect, and each box costs 540 yen without tax. Butttttt maybe there's two mystery ham-hams to collect? The premium Bandai site is selling the full set, and that price would be in line with buying 8 boxes....if there are mystery ham-hams to collect, who would you want it to be??

Hamtaro Kapuko Friends Series 2 and 3

The first set of plushie keychains were so popular that a second and third set have been announced! It says they will release sometime in the summer but I saw someone saying both with be in July?? Either way we are getting plushies of every main ham-ham! These will again be released in gacha machines around Japan for 500 yen per roll, I'm sure these will sell out fast!

Hamtaro Kapuko Friends Series

These super cute gachas are little plush keychains of the main ham-hams! Each pull is 500 yen, which seems expensive but seems like all the plushie gacha are that price.

Hamtaro Umbrella Keychain Gacha

Release Date: April 2025

Distributor: Bandai Namco

A new set of the ham-hams wearing rain ponchos is being released! This is the second set of the series featuring the boys (plus Sandy). Snoozer didn't get a poncho though, he's going to get soaked 😢

I wonder if we will get a third set to get all the ham-hams? We're currently missing Cappy, Panda, Jingle, Maxwell...

This set is scheduled to release at the end of April. There's been a good amount of Hamtaro gachas being restocked a few months after their initial release, so hopefully the same thing happens with these guys!

Also it looks like there will be a reservation lottery system for the first day of the pop-up (April 26), but after that you can enter without a reservation!. Osaka may have something similar if they anticipate a ton of people on day one.

I am doing a big sad today to tell you that this Ichiban Kuji has been delayed. It is now expected to release in June 2025. Lucky for us, there's been two tiny product photos, the quality looks really good so I'm super excited for when it comes out!!

Hamtaro Ichiban-kuji (Lottery)

In light of today (8/6) being Hamtaro's birthday, the official Hamtaro Twitter announced there will be a new lottery next year! It appears this will be angel themed and the art looks very cute! I wonder if this is the closest thing we will get Ham Ham Heartbreak merch??

The account stated more information will come out closer to the release date. All we know for now is that the lottery is expected to release sometime early 2025 (maybe February to go with Valentine's Day). As of right now it seems the lottery will be in stores only. 😭

I suspect 2025 will be a big year for Hamtaro fans as it will be the 25th anniversary of the series. Stay tuned to see what else is in store!

Big Honeybee Hamtaro Plush

BIG BUMBLEBEE HAMTER ALERT!!!!! This is so cute I'm frothing at the mouth!!!

Furyu is making another banger of a Hamtaro plush, this time with two variations of Hamtaro dressed as a bee! These will be released in crane game locations around Japan in early march, and are a little bit smaller than the Turning Butt plushie released back in december. They are about 31cm x 23 cm x 15cm

Here is a link showing a bit more detail about this plush. It also provides an up to date map of stock at the crane game stores (this tends to update after the release date btw)
