You've decided to visit the graveyard this Halloween evening. You didn't want to stay at your house alone but also didn't want to go to any of the party's you've heard of, and wasn't quite in the mood to stay at a friend's and binge watch horror movies. So here you were in this graveyard on Halloween. The sun is beginning to set and it's casting a beautiful golden glow on the graves and leaves around you.

Afree aimlessly walking you find a bench and sit just as the sun finally sets and it's dark.

A voice startles you as the person asks "why you are here?" You can't see them very well, they are about 5 feet away and a silouhette. You say something along the lines of 'not wanting to be home but not wanting to be alone.'

The person takes another step closer and you can finally see them. They look off. Their coloring is wrong, they look gray. They practically look dead. 'How do you know you're not alone here?' They ask, as they step closer to you.

If the person didn't look so ill you would find them extremely attractive. You aren't quite sure what to say and just gawk at them. They shuffle closer and gesture to the bench and ask if they can sit beside you.

As they sit you feel a cold wind hit you and a chill runs up your spine. They ask you why you aren't at a party or with friends and you end up blabbering about all that's on your mind. You aren't in a festive mood this year, you feel like somethings missing but you aren't sure what. Blah blah blah, you talk and talk and this odd person beside you just listens.

Until eventually you stop and ask why they are here, by now it's close to midnight and the person just smiles. "Let's just say I didn't want to be alone either."

Nodding your head in understanding you steer the conversation towards hobbies, movies, food, sometimes they seem sad when answering. Like they miss it.

Your conversation flows for hours, no awkward silences, it's perfect. Finally a person that gets you. You feel like you could talk to them forever.

As the sun begins to rise you turn to them, they almost look transparent but your eyes must be playing tricks on you.

"I can't believe I forgot to ask, what's your name?" You say smiling at this person who you are sure is destined for you.

The smile at you, their eyes though look so incredibly sad and they tell you their name just as the sun shines upon them.

They shimmer and like carried away on a breeze they dissapear and you are left there in shock.

After sitting there a good half hour you get up on shakey legs and begin to walk towards the entrance. You have no clue what just happened but you feel like breaking down and crying. As you near the exit you stumble, perhaps over a twig or your on feet. You manage to catch yourself before you fall by doing a weird half step thing. You stand still for a minute, pausing, taking deep breaths. You turn your head to look around the graveyard, it really is a beautiful one. You spin in spot, looking at the graves, some obviously old and others obviously new, flowers littered on some of them, a few trees are growing here.

When something catches your eyes, a gravestone.

It has their name on it.
