Bonus Mini Work Journal Set Up

In a hilarious turn of events I am also showing off my work journal. My work journal is really just a place for to-do lists and tallying what I'm doing as a weird motivation thing (because it takes very little to get my monkey brain going). This also includes working out of really pretty stuff.

While much simpler than my Everyday Journal, because the layout will not change (meaning the decorations have to work with and around the layout), it's still somewhat intensive. This whole set up took a few hours to do, so far more do-able than the bullshit I do for my other journal.

As per usual, telling you a fun fact that I learned in my research, this time about hunted mansions 🎃🏚️💀:

Did you know that hunted mansions and other activities started being held in Halloween, in America, because of a particular disastrous Halloween that happened in 1933? Due to the Great Depression going on around that time, teenagers were angry, and the usual pranks going around that day, intensified so that that particular year it was labelled a “Black Halloween”, correlation with the historic “Black Tuesday”. Therefore communities started creating distractions to stop the uproar and pranks in Halloween, one of the most successful ones were the “Haunted Mansions”.

I think I'm finally getting the inkling that I need to accept that I don't wanna work as hard as some people. Now I'm doing a PhD I can't keep pressing myself to work as hard as the hardest workers because, well, I don't want to anymore! :')

That doesn't mean I won't work hard; I'm gonna do my best to make this big ol project wonderful, and academically fulfilling! I still want to aim high. But I'm only a couple weeks in and I feel a certainty that to enjoy life during it, I'm going to need to work on being comfortable going home earlier, and putting in fewer hours, than some people. So I will!

It feels so, so good to say that actually. ❤️🥾✨☀️🍂🍁

October Monthly Log

This is admittedly an odd way to stay up a monthly log, but I wanted everything to look like picture that would have been put up onto a wall.

I will probably not keep this design in the future because it's not the easiest thing to read unless you know what you're looking for, but I like the look.
