A Graveyard for Lunatics - by Ray Bradbury
This book was wonderful! It starts out a little slow but the literal second I hit chapter 25 (it had a ton of short chapters) I physically could not put it down, I would probably give it a 10/10 :)
Basically it’s about this guy (I don’t think he’s ever given a clear name) that’s a screenwriter and he gets told to go to the graveyard at midnight on Halloween…and throughout the book I can’t say anything better than there’s a lot of “death” (mind the quotation marks;) ) It’s a super fun mystery, a part of me wishes I had waited for Halloween to read it but I’ll probably read it again this October, Bradbury does not disappoint! It also takes place in the 50’s and it feels like Bradbury almost made himself the main character…basically just read it

My latest photo on my bookstagram. This is the book I am currently reading. I was in the mood to rewatch Stranger Thinks and I decided to find something similar instead. This novel by Grady Hendrix checks all the marks so far.

Family Safe, Inclusive, Wholesome Halloween Freebies & Fun!
Spooky mysteries and costumes for ALL ages!
Spooky mysteries and costumes for ALL ages! This summer marked the 20th anniversary of our first published book: Sounds in the House. What’s been truly gratifying is to have families come back for second or third copies—as their first ones have been completely worn out by repeated use. Kids have asked for the story over and again (and parents haven’t been annoyed to re-read)! Now we have seven…

Boo-tiful Bookshelf: Adorable Ghost-Themed Books to Read This Halloween
Picture a charming Halloween scene where the spooky meets the adorable. A translucent, marshmallow-like ghost floats gently in a cozy corner, defying expectations with its endearing presence. This little specter, with large, expressive eyes and a perpetually surprised expression, cradles an oversized, leather-bound book in its wispy arms.

The ghost's makeshift reading nook is nestled in an old attic, illuminated by the warm glow of flickering jack-o'-lanterns. Dust motes dance in the candlelight, creating an atmospheric haze around our ethereal bookworm. Cobwebs drape from exposed rafters, forming delicate canopies overhead.
Despite lacking physical form, the ghost's face portrays intense concentration as it pores over the tome's weathered pages. Perhaps it's engrossed in a collection of classic horror stories or whimsical Halloween tales. A tiny pair of reading glasses perches impossibly on its non-existent nose, adding to the comical charm.

Surrounding the ghost are stacks of books on various Halloween themes – from witch's spellbooks to werewolf legends. A mischievous black cat curls up nearby, keeping our spectral friend company during its literary adventures.
This heartwarming scene captures the essence of a not-so-scary Halloween, where even the otherworldly find joy in simple pleasures. It's a reminder that the holiday isn't just about frights and scares, but also about the magic of imagination and the comfort of a good story – even for those who've long since shuffled off this mortal coil.
